Michael Crichton is my favourite author. It's really a pity that he passed on so early in life. He had unfinished works as well as unpublished works at the time of his death. The world would have more fabulous books penned by him if he had lived longer.

When anyone talks about Michael Crichton, the first thing that comes into most people's minds would be Jurassic Park. Quite understandable as it is one of the best sellers of all times, both books and movie franchise.

Jurassic Park wasn't among the first few of his books that I read though. The first book was The Great Train Robbery, followed by Eaters of the Dead and the next which I enjoyed the most was Travels.

Till date, I've read almost every single book by him. My New Year's book list for this year would be the 10 books written by him under 3 different pen names; John Lange, Jeffery Hudson and Michael Douglas. 2 of these books have already been re-released under his own name; A Case of Need and Binary. I'm currently halfway through one of his books titled Five Patients. So it'll be one book for each month until end of the year.

Sometimes, very well known authors also wrote books which are very good reads too but are often overlooked. Such as Boy and Going Solo for Roald Dahl, The Cosmic Trilogy for CS Lewis and Travels for Michael Crichton. That is why I wish to read all of Michael Crichton's works, so that I won't miss out any "hidden gems".

I hope that by the end of this year, I can finally finish reading all his books with my New Year's book list.

😀😁

His writings often explored the intersections of chaos and control in technology and science, right?

For sci-fic novels yes, more of the amazing breakthroughs and advancements in science and technology
Followed by the downfall of men brought on by the over-reliance on technology, their ignorance, complacencies and incompetencies

He also had a knack for story telling
Such as Eaters of the Dead, Pirate Latitudes and Rising Sun
Genre doesn't really stop him, he wrote across many different genres
He did extensive research in most of his works before writing, maybe that explains why he didn't write a lot of books
