How do we invest in the ChatGPT/🤖concept❓

If you’re concerned that 🤖 might just be a temporary hype or if you don’t want to commit to individual stocks, 🤖ETFs is another way to invest in the 🤖concept.

5 funds you can research are: Global X Robotics & Artificial Intelligence ETF (BOTZ), ROBO Global Robotics & Automation ETF (ROBO), iShares Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Multisector ETF (IRBO), First Trust Nasdaq Artificial Intelligence and Robotics ETF (ROBT) & ARK Autonomous Tech & Robotics ETF (ARKQ). I’ve arranged these ETFs in the order of lowest to highest expense ratio as that’s 🔑 to me when I consider ETFs:

(1) $iShares Robotics and Artificial Intelligence ETF(IRBO)$ has the lowest expense ratio at 0.47%❣️

⭐️ IRBO aims to track the results of an index of developed & emerging market companies that could benefit from the long-term opportunities in robotics companies & 🤖

⭐️ IRBO was formed in 2018 & is the most diversified of these 🤖 funds with 118 holdings currently. Roughly half are 🇺🇸 companies, but there's also double-digit exposure to 🇨🇳 & 🇯🇵 No single stock makes up more than 2% of the portfolio. Many of its top holdings also give investors exposure to fast-growing small-cap companies. Top 10 holdings (as of 16/2) & Return Of Investment (ROI) are as follows:

(2) $First Trust Nasdaq Artificial Intelligence and Robotics ETF(ROBT)$ ranks 2nd with an expense ratio of 0.65%❣️

⭐️ ROBT seeks to track the Nasdaq CTA Artificial and Robotics Index, which is made up of companies engaged in 🤖 & robotics in technology, industrials, & other sectors.

⭐️ ROBT started in 2018 & surged during the pandemic, in part because tech stocks make up more than 60% of its holdings. The ETF currently owns 111 stocks. About half of holdings are 🇺🇸 companies with around 10% from 🇯🇵 & around 2% from 🇨🇳 Top 10 holdings (as of 16/2) & ROI are as follows:

(3) $Global X Robotics & Artificial Intelligence Thematic ETF(BOTZ)$ ranks 3rd with an expense ratio of 0.68%❣️

⭐️ BOTZ seeks to invest in companies that potentially stand to benefit from increased adoption & utilisation of robotics & 🤖 Sector exposure is primarily in technology, industry & healthcare.

⭐️ BOTZ was formed in 2016 & currently holds 43 global stocks. More than 40% of the holdings are 🇺🇸 companies, but there is also double-digit exposure to 🇯🇵 & Switzerland🇨🇭 Top 10 holdings (as of 16/2) & ROI are as follows:

(4) Wood's $ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF(ARKQ)$ has an expense ratio is 0.75%❗️

⭐️ ARKQ seeks long-term growth of capital by investing under normal circumstances primarily (at least 80% of its assets) in domestic & foreign equity securities of autonomous technology & robotics companies that are relevant to the Fund’s investment theme of disruptive innovation.

⭐️ ARKQ started in 2014 & invests in 30 to 50 companies that develop or support autonomous transportation, robotics & automation, 3D printing, energy storage & space exploration. 🇺🇸 companies make up almost 90% of the fund. Top 10 holdings (as of 17/2) & ROI are as follows:

I would be a bit more selective on AI / tech stocks as quite a couple are not really profitable or may not really fall into the category of AI with immense potential to be unlocked. For e.g, UiPath. While it has AI component, the essence still lies in automation (still has potential but with competition). Spotify may leverage AI to better consumer experience but I won’t classify them as AI companies that can potentially unlock exponential growth.
I may go for core companies that are essential in driving AI, for example semiconductor companies such as Nvidia or TSMC, or profitable companies with solid AI solutions (or plans in place) such as Micosoft, Baidu etc.

I agree with the traditional ETF diversification such S&P500, SPDR series, but not so much for AI ETF. There’s way too much hype on ChatGPT, it’s getting irrational [LOL]
GOOGL is really facing an existential issue. but i believe with its extensive talent pool, it will pull through. Besides, they have been working on it for so many years [LOL]
    • LMSunshine
Just like how UiPath skyrocketed, it crashed so i feel will be the same for c3.AI. Agree on NVDA and TSMC, MSFT also. Do you think GOOGL still has what it takes?
    • LMSunshine
Totally agree❣️ Not considering UiPath and Spotify kind too. Do you think ETFs might be more profitable in the long run? Im thinkinh pullback can enter low then just leave there to grow as we dont know when will the real AI beeakthrough come. I feel now is just hype because of ChatGPT
