Before this dividend cut, Intel had went through extreme measures to reconstruct their business, make it more efficient, and reducing costs while keeping on track for the 5 nodes in 4 yrs.
This dividend cut will retain so much capital for Intel on top of their large cash holdings and allow them to make many more investments in order to regain market share. Dying innovation was fueled by the previous CEOs and its delayed reaction is only appearing now. With new investments in Datacenter business (Sapphire Rapids), huge investments in Intel Foundry Services (which will push Intel to record high revenues in 5 years time), and slow but steady bites into the consumer GPU business, this is a long term buy with a better than ever buying opportunity on our hands.
Just wait for the markets to crash as the fed raises rates higher, under $20 easily! no reason to buy, i never Intel would fall behind AMD, but here we are!
