A new year comes with new hopes

Stocks to watch in 2023 would be stocks which are closer to home, stocks like staples and travel-related stocks

But not to over-invest as recession has been anticipated to be coming soon, which could see US and Europe getting very heavily affected

Could see a small rebound in the short term before it starts going down again

Asian stocks such as Hong Kong or even SG should be relatively safer compared to stocks in US or European markets

Best stocks to hold at this stage would be banks as they benefit most from the interest rate hikes

If in doubt of what to invest or simply want to hold back and see how this recession fears might turn out, another great investing idea would be the 6-month Singapore Treasury Bills

It provide very high short term returns, which is almost 100% safe being guaranteed by MAS, should easily be in excess of 4%

Singapore Treasury Bills rates should not be going down anytime soon as US Feds are still going to continue rising the rates but at a much lesser pace

My top favourite stocks that I would watch or even buy would be

$SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$

$CDL HOSPITALITY TRUSTS(J85.SI)$

$Bank of America(BAC)$
