Market crash? I think this means differently to different people and some would feel that their world has crashed too.
2022 saw the greatest drop since the last recession. I think to most people, that is a crash. Has the market bottomed? No one knows.
Bulls don't last forever, so do bears.
If it is a widespread market crash across all categories then i would assess if the company would be able to weather through it. If it is unable, then cut loss. If the company remains resilient and should bounce back with time, then I would consider adding.
If it is specific categories likely a cyclical thing, then wait for the next cycle to come back. In the meantime, maybe even consider buying while it is undervalued.
I do view crashes as buying opportunities. The bigger problem in a crash is not having enough cash to buy or average down. Then, I would have to be very selective. I would consider which is at a greater discount and addthat. Of course, as I am already very heavy into HK/CHN, I would favour SG market which also tends to move sideways and cause less heart stopping moments! SREITs tend to give good dividends while I wait out this crash. If the discount is really great, might evenhave chance to have a tidy capital gain!
In short, don't panic! Reassess the situation and reasons for the crash. In recent times, it's the rate hike. The rates will come back down but till then, the companies must be ableto last through. I'm actually secretly happy as I can take my time to slowly buy stocks[LOL]
