sorry for asking this stupid question, if I don't wish to hold on to mmtpl,the last day I can sell is 12th Dec?thanks

  Of course, you can still sell on 13 to 14 Dec. That may also be the time brokers liquidate the short sellers if they have not covered all their shorts. But if you can't sell then you will receive the NB shares.
  
  This is just my understanding, do your own DD and judgement!

Good to have NB shares? But can't trade NB what the point?

  The whole NB share plan is to receive dividends payout from Oil and Gas revenues OR selling NB to a big Oil and Gas company, and get the buying company shares or cash into your broker account.
  
  Nobody can tell the future, but it seems to present a safety net.
- Leopardoo:
  NB share is the stop loss, unlike other short squeeze which has nothing to fall back on. Do your own DD.
