I do not think this is the case of market timing. As Buffett pointed out himself, one should not time the market but picks a price one is comfortable with for a stock one likes. It is more a case of him building a new thesis on the direct of a general sector or market, as he has done for Apple in increasing demand for Consumer electronic devices and Occidental for oil. Following this logic, he’s making a call that the housing market will pick up and remain elevated for a foreseeable future, not just the short term, as his favourite holding period is forever. The same logic applies for TSMC. If so, then these two stocks are likely to head towards multiyear strong revenues and profits.
