Believe in $Alphabet(GOOGL)$but given the current downtrend, have rolled down my put option from the strike px of $103 to $99 for an additional small credit. If the px falls further, I may buy direct from the market and continue to roll this option until it turns profitable 😬

thanks for sharing, man 👍 for me, whatever shares I don't want assigned, I close the put options & my losses there become realized & are recorded. For some other shares that I don't mind owning & holding, I'm waiting for them to be assigned at option expiry. Will see how TIGR record these soon.

And just to add, some may think it’s better to keep rolling the bad puts so as not to tie up cash and buying power. I‘m just lazy cos when the stock px keeps going down and down in the current mkt conditions, the probability of early assignment increases. And then I will have to keep selling the assigned shares and selling a new put with enough premium to cover the loss.

Accounting wise speaking, losses are realised if I immediately sell the 100 shares when assigned. But if I continue to hold them in my portfolio, it’s still unrealised losses. Btw, I get to keep the whole premium, which helps to lower my buy px, i.e., true cost = strike px - option premium. Am just patiently waiting for the mkt px to recover and increase beyond my buy px before I sell part of the shares.

if u paid up on some of the bad puts, wouldn't that mean realized losses then? appreciate your open sharing lots, bro - thanks! 👍

For some of my bad puts, I decided to stop rolling, just close my eyes and paid up. I‘m still sitting on some sizable unrealised losses as a result. But I believe in those counters, will look at them again in a few years’ time.
