Did you know that with greater digital connectivity, purchasing illegal wildlife trade products is now an easy click, pay and ship process? According to a report by the World Economic Forum, illegal wildlife trade is the 4th largest global crime, with an estimated value of 15 billion per year. This issue is driving almost 7,000 species in 120 countries at risk of endangerment and extinction.

This is where you can come in as a Cyber Spotter!

Cyber Spotter Programme 2.0 is a citizen science initiative that empowers individuals to play their part in supporting the Coalition to End Illegal Wildlife Trafficking Online by helping to detect and report illegal online listings.

The duration for each Cyber Spotter Programme round is 4 weeks, during which volunteers will be trained to identify and report illegal wildlife trade online. There will be various engagements through the weekly group activities, live sessions and quizzes to assist with your cyber spotting experience.

The upcoming round available for Cyber Spotter Programme is:

  • 7th November - 6th December 2022 Training
  • Dates: 7th & 8th Nov 22, 7:30pm - 9pm
