$Microsoft(MSFT)$   Microsoft Corp. raised its quarterly dividend 10% and unveiled a new $60 billion stock-buyback program, matching the size of a repurchase plan three years ago. The company’s shares gained as much as 2.4%. The software company said late Monday that shareholders as of Nov. 21 will receive a quarterly dividend of 83 cents a share, compared with the current 75 cents. The share repurchase agreement, which has no expiration date, replaces a buyback program announced in 2021 that was also $60 billion.

$Microsoft(MSFT)$  I believe MSFT is a solid choice but not necessarily the best pick at the moment. The company's size, robust business model, strong earnings and attractive dividends make it a reliable option. However, its current high stock price limits its potential for significant upward movement. If the stock price were to decline, it could become a more appealing investment. Currently, I don't hold MSFT in my portfolio because I find it relatively expensive compared to other undervalued yet high-quality stocks that are available.

Why I Think Microsoft Could be More Ambitious

$Microsoft(MSFT)$ 's latest announcement of a $60 billion stock buyback program and a 10% dividend increase demonstrates the company's robust financial health and confidence in its future. The move, which replaces a similar buyback program from 2021, is a clear signal to investors that Microsoft remains committed to returning value to shareholders. On top of that, the stock has gained 31% over the past year, further solidifying its dominance in the market. But while I appreciate the shareholder-friendly gesture, I can’t help but wonder if there are better ways for Microsoft to invest its cash reserves, especially in innovation and expansion. MSFT Daily Chart over 1 Year Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing a company reward shareholders with buybacks

$Microsoft(MSFT)$   Really good news out of Microsoft today with the increase in quarterly dividend and the 60B buyback program.  With its uninterrupted track record of increasing dividends and its generous buybacks, our total yield from holding MSFT keeps increasing every year.  No need to trade or speculate, holding MSFT provides safe returns AND strong growth as it is well positioned to benefit from AI proliferation in everything we do.
