Those same factors are likely to prove a drag on AMC’s fortunes going forward as well.Going to the movies hasn’t been the same in recent years. Just ask theater giant AMC Entertainment (NYSE: AMC), whose stock has been in free-fall for months. AMC stock lost some ground in early trading today, as it was down almost 7% at one point. However, it staged a nice recovery and is now up on the day. What made AMC drop initially, though? Besides the overall bearish market, AMC sank to a new 52-week low earlier today after investors got a look at the company’s overall position. Investors abandoned the stock after considering a debt loadCNBCdescribed yesterday as “massive.” AMC is in a bad position right now, and it’s not likely to get better any time soon.Further, the stock has been diluted in recent months as AMC took advantage of its “meme stock” status. Plus, going into the fall and winter months, there’s a noticeable shortage of blockbuster releases on the horizon now that the summer movie season is over.A combination of factors is slapping this company in the face right now. While the current share price might make for an attractive gamble, it’s little more than a gamble, which is why I’m bearish on AMC.The last 12 months for AMC shares have been surprisingly volatile. Last October, shares were worth around $26 each. Soon after, AMC started its slide to the bottom. Brief rallies would kick in along the way on several occasions, but ultimately, nothing stopped AMC’s plunge. Today, shares hover around the $6 mark.Is AMC Stock a Buy, According to Analysts?Turning to Wall Street, AMC Entertainment has a Moderate Sell consensus rating. That’s based on two Holds and three Sells assigned in the past three months. The average AMC price target of $4.37 implies a 28.7% downside potential. Analyst price targets range from a low of $0.50 per share to a high of $7.50 per share.Investor Sentiment Has Been Remarkably QuietInvestor sentiment, what there is of it, has been fairly quiet for AMC lately. Currently, AMC has a Smart Score of 3 out of 10 on TipRanks. That’s the highest level of “underperform.” It also suggests that AMC is fairly likely to underperform the broader market.Meanwhile, insider trading at AMC has all but gone dark. The last informative transaction for AMC took place seven months ago when executive vice president John Mcdonald sold $597,500 worth of stock back in March. The aggregate, meanwhile, isn’t saying much at all lately. Most of what it says over the last 12 months is not good for anyone long AMC. Insiders staged exactly one sale back in July. That’s the last three months of insider trading activity at AMC. That’s the last six months of insider trading activity as well—one sale. The last 12 months tell a different story. Between October 2021 and February 2022, insiders bought AMC stock on 46 occasions. Insiders sold stock, meanwhile, on 69 occasions.A Recipe for DisasterIt’s not especially surprising that investors are abandoning ship. Things look downright disastrous at AMC. We’ve already seen several examples of AMC offering new shares of stock in a bid to take advantage of its status as a “meme stock.”A recent report from Fox Business showed off just to what extent AMC could thank retail traders. Insiders sold a hefty $883.5 million over the last two years, most of which was purchased by retail traders. Stock sales came mainly from hedge funds like Mudrick Capital and private equity firm Silver Lake.It certainly doesn’t help that AMC is getting negative impressions from analysts lately as well. B.Riley’s Eric Wold recently cut his price target to $7.50, which is currently the high-water mark for price targets. He maintained the Hold rating on the company as well. Moreover, its debt load is rising to rather substantial levels. Only recently, Odean Finco—a unit of AMC Entertainment Holdings—would issue a private offering of $400 million in senior secured five-year bonds. The bonds are being issued in a bid to repay term loans. We all know why AMC took on that kind of debt load in the first place. It needed that cash to survive 2020 – when government mandates shuttered theaters for months on end. However, there were signs that AMC was losing ground well before even the pandemic started.Theaters, in general, have been suffering in the wake of streaming video’s rise to prominence. While clearly, there are still blockbusters making bank for theaters, those are getting somewhat sparse. Remember No Time to Die, the latest installment of the James Bond series? It made just over three times its shooting budget, which makes it a hit by most standards.Still, with around one in four Americans using Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) once a day, that puts a crimp in theaters’ plans to return to glory. Looking at the release schedule for the next few months doesn’t bode all that well, either. Certainly, there will be some noteworthy releases.October all but ensures a few horror classics in the making, and going into the holidays tends to bring out the Oscar contenders. There’s even hope for a few outlying good ones to emerge in the depths of January. However, the hope of an easy win is all but gone for now. Major releases from Blade to Untitled Deadpool Movie were pushed back several months.A look at the release schedule suggests that the next Marvel release won’t hit until November, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Then, Marvel’s schedule goes wholly silent until Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits in February. Conclusion: It’s a $6 Lottery Ticket Right NowBasically, AMC is a gamble in the short term. The company has a hefty debt load in a declining market that’s not likely to have a whole lot of draw for the next few months. The macroeconomic environment won’t do AMC many favors, either.Staying at home and streaming video is going to win out for a lot of folks’ Friday night entertainment decisions against paying for babysitters and the like to catch a movie in theaters. There will still be cinephiles out there who crave the “theater experience.” However, huge multiplex theaters trying to cater to a niche market likely won’t fare well. With the release schedule looking a mite sparse going into the closing of the year, AMC’s chances to turn it around only dwindle with the declining daylight. Granted, AMC may be attractively priced right now to catch virtually any upward trend.Nonetheless, with price targets potentially going under the $1 level, there may yet be room to fall. That, coupled with a distinct lack of catalysts to produce upward trends right now, is why I’m bearish on AMC.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":405,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":305788290195504,"gmtCreate":1715690505597,"gmtModify":1715764019440,"author":{"id":"3561516256982806","authorId":"3561516256982806","name":"JaneJane","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9b18ea76092852ca384c90dd687df5f4","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561516256982806","authorIdStr":"3561516256982806"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$GameStop(GME)$ Waiting for so long ","listText":"$GameStop(GME)$ Waiting for so long ","text":"$GameStop(GME)$ Waiting for so long","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/c93d36f9efc5647452d7130f215cd715","width":"1092","height":"1717"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":28,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":1,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/305788290195504","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":579,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":830939942,"gmtCreate":1628998666486,"gmtModify":1676529907596,"author":{"id":"3561516256982806","authorId":"3561516256982806","name":"JaneJane","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9b18ea76092852ca384c90dd687df5f4","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561516256982806","authorIdStr":"3561516256982806"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$Hold hold hold","listText":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$Hold hold hold","text":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$Hold hold hold","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/abce586eda2ab07995bbdc8666de6b77","width":"1242","height":"2151"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":12,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/830939942","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":364,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":152977038,"gmtCreate":1625267928024,"gmtModify":1703739542559,"author":{"id":"3561516256982806","authorId":"3561516256982806","name":"JaneJane","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9b18ea76092852ca384c90dd687df5f4","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561516256982806","authorIdStr":"3561516256982806"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"But up few days down for months ???","listText":"But up few days down for months ???","text":"But up few days down for months ???","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/152977038","repostId":"1120590567","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1120590567","pubTimestamp":1625238577,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1120590567?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-02 23:09","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO May Grow Even Faster Than Expected","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1120590567","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Summary\n\nNIO’s June deliveries grew at an impressive rate.\nThe Chinese EV maker returned to triple-d","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
NIO’s June deliveries grew at an impressive rate.
\n
The Chinese EV maker returned to triple-digit delivery growth last month, helped by strong Y/Y growth in NIO’s flagship model ES6.
\n
NIO is set to overcome production setbacks and ramp up production in the second half of 2021.
\n
\n
peterschreiber.media/iStock via Getty Images
\n
Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO) is rebounding fast from the pandemic-driven chip supply shortage and the proof is in surging EV deliveries. Impressive delivery rates for the month of June show that the market may underestimate NIO's growth potential.
\n
Shipping volumes are accelerating
\n
NIO guided for lower production volumes in the second quarter due to the global chip and battery supply shortage. The shortage was set to reduce NIO's factory output from 10,000 vehicles to 7,500 vehicles a month.
\n
The global semiconductor supply shortage has its roots in the COVID-19 pandemic. As more people started to work from home, a sharp increase in demand for semiconductors from the consumer electronics industry coincided with a faster than anticipated rebound in chip demand from the auto industry, leading to a global shortage in semiconductors that is throttling auto production from the US to China. NIO's guidance for lower factory output has lowered delivery expectations but a return to triple-digit growth rates may now push NIO's stock higher again.
\n
While the temporary production drop was a setback for NIO, it seems that the electric vehicle maker is ready to bounce back.NIO's June deliveries were nothing short of impressive and the market may underestimate NIO's ability to grow EV deliveries at triple digits this year. The Chinese EV maker delivered a total 8,083 vehicles in June, bringing the Q2'21 total to 21,896 EVs consisting of all models… NIO's 5-seater electric SUV ES6, the 5-seater electric coupe SUV EC6 and the 6-seater or 7-seater electric SUV ES8. NIO's monthly and quarterly delivery totals hit records in the second quarter and the EV maker is set to reach new records for the rest of the year. Total June deliveries saw 116% growth Y/Y with the largest growth coming from the ES6 model. The ES6 category saw 52% growth Y/Y. Total deliveries for Q2'21 were 21,896, most of which were ES6s, showing growth of 112% Y/Y… and that's despite production problems in the second quarter. Comparable figures for the EC6 are not available since deliveries for this model only began after the second quarter last year. What stands out from NIO's June delivery report is that shipping growth is speeding up compared to the previous month, which may be seen as a sign that NIO's delivery capabilities are undervalued. In May, NIO delivered 6,711 vehicles which is equivalent to a Y/Y growth rate of 95%. Strong delivery numbers for the month of June may be a cue that NIO's production problems are easing and that NIO is ready to return to full production capacity.
\n
(Source: Author)
\n
NIO has an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles which the EV maker is not fully utilizing due to the semiconductor shortage. As soon as the chip shortage eases, which can be expected to be the case in the second half of the year, we should see a steady ramp up in NIO's factory output and deliveries. The speed of the ramp up will depend less on demand but rather on the severity of the supply shortage. The semiconductor shortage is a primary risk factor that will impact NIO's delivery success in the remaining two quarters.
\n
The market for electric vehicles is very resilient in China and demand for zero-emission passenger vehicles is not going away due to delays in production, which may be a sort of luxury problem for Chinese EV makers. A quarterly output volume of around 30,000 cars by year-end is realistic to achieve and NIO would still be operating 20% below full production capacity. Calculating the delivery totals for Q1 and Q2 together with my estimates for Q3 and Q4 results in a total delivery potential of 97,056 vehicles (across all three models) in FY 2021 and NIO may even be able to crack the 100,000 barrier if shipment volumes continue to accelerate at a strong rate in the last two quarters of the year. NIO delivered 43,728 vehicles in 2020 in total, so a 97,056 delivery estimate for 2021 implies 122% Y/Y growth. In the first six months of 2021, NIO already delivered 41,956 or 43% of my FY 2021 delivery estimate. NIO trades at a P-S ratio of 9.4 and the valuation multiplier factor is not that much different from other EV makers. Compared against Tesla (TSLA), which trades at a P-S ratio of 9.9, NIO has more revaluation potential because it operates in a larger market and has a lower revenue base.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Risks
\n
The chip supply shortage is still a major risk factor for NIO and it will have an impact on NIO's Q3 and Q4 production output... which will be below potential. As conditions normalize slowly in the second half, NIO should be able to ramp up factory output and deliveries. While delivery growth rates are influenced by factors outside of NIO's operations, they also represent a big opportunity for NIO to surprise the market. Better than expected growth rates and a fast return to full production could create fertile ground for stock price appreciation.
\n
Final thoughts
\n
NIO may be growing faster than expected in 2021 as the chip supply shortage eases and a strong rebound in the second half of the year could push NIO to hit the critical 100,000 annual delivery milestone. Demand for EVs remained strong in 2021 and Chinese EV makers are killing it. I believe 120% Y/Y growth in annual deliveries is possible in 2021 as factory output normalizes in the second half of the year.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
NIO May Grow Even Faster Than Expected
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nNIO May Grow Even Faster Than Expected\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-02 23:09 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nNIO’s June deliveries grew at an impressive rate.\nThe Chinese EV maker returned to triple-digit delivery growth last month, helped by strong Y/Y growth in NIO’s flagship model ES6.\nNIO is set...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"NIO":"蔚来"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4437606-nio-may-grow-faster-than-expected","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1120590567","content_text":"Summary\n\nNIO’s June deliveries grew at an impressive rate.\nThe Chinese EV maker returned to triple-digit delivery growth last month, helped by strong Y/Y growth in NIO’s flagship model ES6.\nNIO is set to overcome production setbacks and ramp up production in the second half of 2021.\n\npeterschreiber.media/iStock via Getty Images\nChinese electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO) is rebounding fast from the pandemic-driven chip supply shortage and the proof is in surging EV deliveries. Impressive delivery rates for the month of June show that the market may underestimate NIO's growth potential.\nShipping volumes are accelerating\nNIO guided for lower production volumes in the second quarter due to the global chip and battery supply shortage. The shortage was set to reduce NIO's factory output from 10,000 vehicles to 7,500 vehicles a month.\nThe global semiconductor supply shortage has its roots in the COVID-19 pandemic. As more people started to work from home, a sharp increase in demand for semiconductors from the consumer electronics industry coincided with a faster than anticipated rebound in chip demand from the auto industry, leading to a global shortage in semiconductors that is throttling auto production from the US to China. NIO's guidance for lower factory output has lowered delivery expectations but a return to triple-digit growth rates may now push NIO's stock higher again.\nWhile the temporary production drop was a setback for NIO, it seems that the electric vehicle maker is ready to bounce back.NIO's June deliveries were nothing short of impressive and the market may underestimate NIO's ability to grow EV deliveries at triple digits this year. I thought so.

Lots of savvy investors know that they can generate heaps of passive income with dividend-paying stocks. These three businesses are more than just reliable dividend payers; they're known for raising their dividend payouts year after year. Here's how they could provide ever-increasing dividend payments to your brokerage account.

1. Abbott Laboratories

This healthcare conglomerate's COVID-19 tests made it a stock market darling in 2021. Shares of Abbott Laboratories have tumbled around 27% since the beginning of 2022 in response to subsiding demand for COVID tests. Now the stock offers a tempting 1.8% dividend yield that could rise significantly in the years ahead.

In the second quarter, COVID-19 testing-related sales fell to $2.3 billion from $3.3 billion during the first quarter of 2022. Luckily for long-term investors, the company could report significant earnings growth even if COVID-19 sales fall off a cliff.

Declining COVID-19 testing revenue isn't a major issue for this diversified conglomerate because its diabetes-care segment is about to rocket higher. In May, the FDA granted clearance to Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 3 system. This device is only the size of a couple of pennies stacked together, but once a patient sticks it on her or his arm, it monitors blood sugar levels constantly for two weeks.

Constant monitoring leads to fewer interventions in expensive hospitals, so insurers and government payers are eager to reimburse patients for the devices. With glucose monitoring sales about to explode higher, Abbott could approve some big dividend raises in the foreseeable future.

2. CVS Health

Shares of CVS Health surged late last year when the company announced that it would begin raising its dividend payout again. Since then, the stock has been in a holding pattern.

At recent prices, shares of CVS Health offer a 2.2% yield that could grow significantly in the years ahead. In addition to thousands of retail pharmacies, this conglomerate owns a pharmacy benefits management business that boasts more than 110 million plan members.

Integrating a pharmacy benefits management business is one advantage its peers in the retail pharmacy space can't match, and it isn't the company's only big advantage. CVS Health previously paused raising its dividend payout to pay off its acquisition of Aetna, a health insurer that currently collects premiums from an estimated 35 million members.

CVS Health's unique combination of related businesses allowed the company to raise its dividend payout by 10% this year. Without any competitors combining a large retail footprint with a health benefits management business, the latest big payout bump could be the first of many in the years ahead.

3. AbbVie

AbbVie was once the pharmaceutical segment of Abbott Laboratories. Shares of AbbVie offer an above-average yield of 4.2% that could climb even higher.

Since the drugmaker spun off in 2013, its dividend has risen an astonishing 253% on the back of its lead drug, Humira. Second-quarter sales of Humira rose 9.6% year over year to a stunning $4.7 billion in the U.S. Unfortunately, international Humira revenue fell 13.8% to $699 million.

AbbVie offers an above-average dividend now because U.S. Humira sales will soon go the same way as international sales. An interchangeable biosimilar version of the anti-inflammatory blockbuster became available in the U.S. this July.

AbbVie investors can expect their dividend payouts to continue rising in the face of Humira competition because the company has new blockbuster drugs to pick up the slack. Second-quarter sales of Rinvoq, a new arthritis drug, and Skyrizi, a new psoriasis drug, soared 75% year over year to a combined $1.84 billion. I thought so.Lots of savvy investors know that they can generate heaps of passive income with dividend-paying stocks. These three businesses are more than just reliable dividend payers; they're known for raising their dividend payouts year after year. Here's how they could provide ever-increasing dividend payments to your brokerage account.1. Abbott Laboratories This healthcare conglomerate's COVID-19 tests made it a stock market darling in 2021. Luckily for long-term investors, the company could report significant earnings growth even if COVID-19 sales fall off a cliff.Declining COVID-19 testing revenue isn't a major issue for this diversified conglomerate because its diabetes-care segment is about to rocket higher. In May, the FDA granted clearance to Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 3 system. This device is only the size of a couple of pennies stacked together, but once a patient sticks it on her or his arm, it monitors blood sugar levels constantly for two weeks.Constant monitoring leads to fewer interventions in expensive hospitals, so insurers and government payers are eager to reimburse patients for the devices. With glucose monitoring sales about to explode higher, Abbott could approve some big dividend raises in the foreseeable future.2. CVS Health Shares of CVS Health surged late last year when the company announced that it would begin raising its dividend payout again. Since then, the stock has been in a holding pattern. At recent prices, shares of CVS Health offer a 2.2% yield that could grow significantly in the years ahead. In addition to thousands of retail pharmacies, this conglomerate owns a pharmacy benefits management business that boasts more than 110 million plan members.Integrating a pharmacy benefits management business is one advantage its peers in the retail pharmacy space can't match, and it isn't the company's only big advantage. CVS Health previously paused raising its dividend payout to pay off its acquisition of Aetna, a health insurer that currently collects premiums from an estimated 35 million members.CVS Health's unique combination of related businesses allowed the company to raise its dividend payout by 10% this year. Without any competitors combining a large retail footprint with a health benefits management business, the latest big payout bump could be the first of many in the years ahead.3. AbbVie AbbVie was once the pharmaceutical segment of Abbott Laboratories. Shares of AbbVie offer an above-average yield of 4.2% that could climb even higher.Since the drugmaker spun off in 2013, its dividend has risen an astonishing 253% on the back of its lead drug, Humira. Second-quarter sales of Humira rose 9.6% year over year to a stunning $4.7 billion in the U.S. Unfortunately, international Humira revenue fell 13.8% to $699 million.AbbVie offers an above-average dividend now because U.S. Humira sales will soon go the same way as international sales. An interchangeable biosimilar version of the anti-inflammatory blockbuster became available in the U.S. this July.AbbVie investors can expect their dividend payouts to continue rising in the face of Humira competition because the company has new blockbuster drugs to pick up the slack. Second-quarter sales of Rinvoq, a new arthritis drug, and Skyrizi, a new psoriasis drug, soared 75% year over year to a combined $1.84 billion. With new blockbusters to offset Humira losses, AbbVie shareholders could see more big payout bumps in the years ahead.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":128,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":119535344,"gmtCreate":1622554569788,"gmtModify":1704186200679,"author":{"id":"3561516256982806","authorId":"3561516256982806","name":"JaneJane","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9b18ea76092852ca384c90dd687df5f4","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561516256982806","authorIdStr":"3561516256982806"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Run","listText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Run","text":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Run","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/dc2fd8e06d00495c332ff03aab9048e1","width":"1242","height":"2151"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/119535344","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":273,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3582175710040105","authorId":"3582175710040105","name":"Axekay","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/bb1a0492a52d3f14fed576a4c8d1b1da","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"idStr":"3582175710040105","authorIdStr":"3582175710040105"},"content":"so early realise the profit?","text":"so early realise the profit?","html":"so early realise the profit?"}],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":356553472,"gmtCreate":1616800895696,"gmtModify":1704799130442,"author":{"id":"3561516256982806","authorId":"3561516256982806","name":"JaneJane","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9b18ea76092852ca384c90dd687df5f4","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561516256982806","authorIdStr":"3561516256982806"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$GameStop(GME)$??????????????","listText":"$GameStop(GME)$??????????????","text":"$GameStop(GME)$??????????????","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/dd42dadbc4ac38272672fbd81d01ee20","width":"1242","height":"2151"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/356553472","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":353,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3574403874234010","authorId":"3574403874234010","name":"Nanab","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3574403874234010","authorIdStr":"3574403874234010"},"content":"to the moon","text":"to the moon","html":"to the moon"}],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9991845983,"gmtCreate":1660814806343,"gmtModify":1676536404453,"author":{"id":"3561516256982806","authorId":"3561516256982806","name":"JaneJane","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9b18ea76092852ca384c90dd687df5f4","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561516256982806","authorIdStr":"3561516256982806"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻","listText":"👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻","text":"👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9991845983","repostId":"2260589388","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2260589388","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1660812276,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2260589388?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-08-18 16:44","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Bed Bath & Beyond, Estée Lauder, Cisco, Kohl's And More: U.S. Stocks To Watch","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2260589388","media":"Benzinga","summary":"With US stock futures trading slightly lower this morning on Thursday, some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are as follows:","content":"

With US stock futures trading slightly lower this morning on Thursday, some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are as follows:

Ryan Cohen’s RC Ventures, a top investor, said in a filing Tuesday with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that it might sell as much as 7.78 million shares of Bed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY), along with some call options. However, with the money supply tightening and borrowing costs rising, investors are reexamining prior assumptions.Climate change, geopolitics, and rising gasoline prices. These are some of the key catalysts driving motorists to consider the electrification of transportation. As well, investors have poured into EV stocks as they chase what could be in their minds the next Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA).Up until the Federal Reserve decided to take a decidedly hawkish stance with its monetary policy, the narrative for EVs was a welcoming one. Now, amid a tightening money supply and rising borrowing costs, investors must reconsider prior assumptions. On paper, the bullish framework for EV stocks initially appears bulletproof. Primarily, a combination of rising inflation and geopolitical disruptions that sent energy markets skyrocketing due to supply crunch implications boded well for the electrification of mobility. However, economic hardships imposed a sharp reality check on this thesis.Per Kelley Blue Book, earlier this year, the average price of a new EV jumped to $62,876. However, the pre-pandemic U.S. household income was $69,560, indicating that many, if not most, Americans will not be able to make the transition to electric. For now, the companies undergirding some of the most popular EV stocks have decided to focus exclusively on the affluent consumer base. While this is the most realistic course of action, it begs the question: how do these firms stack up in terms of valuation?Setting the Framework for EV StocksBefore moving forward, it’s important to lay the groundwork for the below discussion points. While the concept of valuation can cover several metrics, typically, investors refer to a company’s price relative to earnings. Unfortunately, many of the firms undergirding non-Tesla EV stocks have yet to post positive numbers on the bottom line. Therefore, it may be helpful to consider the price-to-tangible-book value (PTBV).As of this writing, Tesla features a PTBV of 24.8, which is considered a hefty premium. The automotive industry features a median PTBV of 1.71. For instance, Japanese auto giant Toyota (NYSE:TM) has a PTBV of 1.05. Interestingly, luxury brand Mercedes-Benz Group (OTC:DMLRY) is priced just under 1 for the same metric.Depending on the consumer base, key financial ratios can vary wildly. Conspicuously, Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) features a price-to-book ratio of 16.3 times while its PTBV is a staggering 145.72. Again, understanding who the key consumer base is can better determine which EV stocks are valued appropriately.Lucid GroupOne of the most compelling EV stocks available, Lucid Group (NASDAQ:LCID), initially attracted attention for its focus on some of the wealthiest consumer demographics in the world. For example, its Lucid Air electric sedan starts at a staggering price of $87,400. Those who want to up their game can consider the Air Grand Touring, which tips the scale at $154,000 as an opening benchmark.Presently, Lucid features a PTBV of 6.62 times, which again is notably above the auto industry median of 1.71. However, compared to Tesla’s PTBV of 24.8 times, LCID stock might appear undervalued.Fundamentally, investors should consider Lucid’s likely trajectory. With the average price of a new EV nearly approaching $63,000, the only consumers that can afford even garden-variety EVs are wealthy ones. Therefore, LCID may be on the right track, although it is a risky market idea.Rivian AutomotiveEasily one of the most anticipated initial public offerings (IPOs) last year, Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ:RIVN) delighted early bird investors with its attractive product offerings and relatively reasonable price points. However, the company only enjoyed a short-term pop when it debuted in November 2021. Since then, RIVN has been on a downward slide. On a year-to-date basis, the stock hemorrhaged nearly 62% of its value.Although Rivian’s market losses present significant concerns, an argument exists that RIVN is somewhat undervalued. Currently, its PTBV is 1.81, which may be higher than the auto industry median but is conspicuously below Lucid’s corresponding metric. Before investors jump on LCID, though, it’s important to realize that the underlying company raised its prices. The R1T, which Rivian originally listed at $67,500, now goes for $79,500. The R1S, which was earlier listed at $70,000, now commands a price tag of $84,500. Therefore, Rivian at least partially lost a key competitive edge.FiskerAnother exciting EV-related IPO, Fisker (NYSE:FSR), stands above the other EV stocks in that the company’s prime calling card is its design heritage. That’s not surprising considering that Henrik Fisker, the founder of the auto manufacturer that bears his name, commands global recognition as a premier auto designer. Fisker brought to life several iconic works, including the BMW Z8.Regarding valuation, Fisker’s PTBV stands at 6.87 times, nearly identical to Lucid, and because of that fact, FSR appears overvalued relative to Rivian. However, it wouldn’t be wise to rule out Fisker just yet. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the upcoming Fisker Ocean SUV embodies a blend of classic European aesthetics with the clean edges of modernity. More importantly, from a financial perspective, consumers can enjoy this world-class design without killing the wallet. The entry-level Ocean starts at $37,499 while the premium model caps out at $68,999, noticeably below thecheapestofferings of its two competitors above.Which EV Maker Stands Out?Among the three EV stocks mentioned above, which one offers the best deal for prospective investors? Primarily, it comes down to personal risk-reward profiles. Those who gravitate toward traditional financial metrics will likely be interested in Rivian for its relatively low PTBV. However, forward-looking investors may see tremendous future value in Lucid’s premium-label brand.
