Whether the volatility investors are currently seeing actually foreshadows another market crash is anyone's guess, and trying to time the market to predict the best windows for buying stocks can be a recipe for disaster.
\n
No matter how worried you may be about a crash, it's always a great time to invest in high-quality stocks that generate wealth-building portfolio returns. To that end, let's take a look at two top stocks that can help your portfolio navigate the next market storm and provide meaningful sources of growth for years to come.
\n
1. Facebook
\n
Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is hardly a new choice for long-term investors, but it's the type of stock you can add more of to your portfolio time and time again. The popular FAANG stock has gained approximately 25% since the beginning of 2021, and is up an eye-popping 41% compared to the same time last year.
\n
Facebook continues to control a massive share of the social media industry. According to Statista, \"Facebook accounted for nearly 71.8% of all social media site visits in the United States in May 2021.\" The company's ever-increasing market share is also driving exponential balance sheet growth.
\n
2020 was just another strong year in the books for Facebook, during which its total revenues increased 22% and its net income rose 58%. But Facebook's financial performance in the first quarter of 2021 left these figures in the dust. The company reported that its revenues surged 48% year over year during the three-month period.
\n
Facebook's net income grew by an even higher percentage -- a whopping 94% from the year-ago stretch. In addition, Facebook reported that its \"daily active users\" (what it calls daily Facebook users) and \"daily active people\" (what it calls daily users of any of Facebook's suite of products) surged by respective rates of 8% and 15% in the month of March alone.
\n
If you're wondering whether it's too late to buy Facebook on account of its upside potential, the answer is a resounding no. Facebook has plenty of juice left in it for long-term investors. And analysts currently estimate that the company can consistently deliver more than 20% average annual earnings growth for at least the next five years.
\n
After nearly two decades in business, Facebook continues to expand its market share and reassert its dominance of the social media sphere. This is a premium stock you can hold onto through both market highs and lows, one that can generate consistent growth and maximize your portfolio returns.
\n
2. AbbVie
\n
Healthcare stock AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV) is another golden egg to have in your basket before the next market crash rolls around. AbbVie spun off from Abbott Laboratories in 2013, and its former parent company is a veteran member of the elite stock club known as Dividend Aristocrats.
\n
Stocks that snag the title of Dividend Aristocrats must raise their dividend for 25 consecutive years, and Abbott has done so for nearly 50. As a spinoff of Abbott, AbbVie is also considered a member of the Dividend Aristocrat club. It yields a robust 4.5% for investors at the time of this writing.
\n
The biggest concern some investors have about AbbVie is the looming loss of U.S. patent protection for its blockbuster drug Humira in 2023. Humira is an immunosuppressive drug used to treat a range of conditions from arthritis to Crohn's disease. It raked in more sales than any other drug in the entire world in 2020 -- amassing total net revenues just shy of $20 billion during the 12-month period.
\n
There's no doubt that AbbVie's balance sheet will reflect the loss of Humira's patent exclusivity in the U.S. in a few years. We need only look to AbbVie's loss of patent exclusivity in Europe -- which largely took effect in October 2018 -- as an example of this.
\n
Case in point: International sales of Humira were down 14% in 2020, but still totaled nearly $4 billion. In short, heightened competition in the U.S. will certainly detract from Humira's sales come 2023, but that doesn't mean that sales of the drug can't still inject healthy growth into AbbVie's balance sheet over the long term.
\n
It's also important to note that AbbVie has a rock-star portfolio of top-selling drugs besides Humira. These include plaque psoriasis drug Skyrizi, cancer drugs Imbruvica and Venclexta, and rheumatoid arthritis drug Rinvoq. Whether the volatility investors are currently seeing actually foreshadows another market crash is anyone's guess, and trying to time the market to predict the best windows for buying stocks can be a recipe for disaster.\nNo matter how worried you may be about a crash, it's always a great time to invest in high-quality stocks that generate wealth-building portfolio returns. To that end, let's take a look at two top stocks that can help your portfolio navigate the next market storm and provide meaningful sources of growth for years to come.\n1. Facebook\nFacebook (NASDAQ:FB) is hardly a new choice for long-term investors, but it's the type of stock you can add more of to your portfolio time and time again. The popular FAANG stock has gained approximately 25% since the beginning of 2021, and is up an eye-popping 41% compared to the same time last year.\nFacebook continues to control a massive share of the social media industry. According to Statista, \"Facebook accounted for nearly 71.8% of all social media site visits in the United States in May 2021.\" The company's ever-increasing market share is also driving exponential balance sheet growth.\n2020 was just another strong year in the books for Facebook, during which its total revenues increased 22% and its net income rose 58%. But Facebook's financial performance in the first quarter of 2021 left these figures in the dust. The company reported that its revenues surged 48% year over year during the three-month period.\nFacebook's net income grew by an even higher percentage -- a whopping 94% from the year-ago stretch. In addition, Facebook reported that its \"daily active users\" (what it calls daily Facebook users) and \"daily active people\" (what it calls daily users of any of Facebook's suite of products) surged by respective rates of 8% and 15% in the month of March alone.\nIf you're wondering whether it's too late to buy Facebook on account of its upside potential, the answer is a resounding no. Facebook has plenty of juice left in it for long-term investors. And analysts currently estimate that the company can consistently deliver more than 20% average annual earnings growth for at least the next five years.\nAfter nearly two decades in business, Facebook continues to expand its market share and reassert its dominance of the social media sphere. This is a premium stock you can hold onto through both market highs and lows, one that can generate consistent growth and maximize your portfolio returns.\n2. AbbVie\nHealthcare stock AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV) is another golden egg to have in your basket before the next market crash rolls around. AbbVie spun off from Abbott Laboratories in 2013, and its former parent company is a veteran member of the elite stock club known as Dividend Aristocrats.\nStocks that snag the title of Dividend Aristocrats must raise their dividend for 25 consecutive years, and Abbott has done so for nearly 50. As a spinoff of Abbott, AbbVie is also considered a member of the Dividend Aristocrat club. It yields a robust 4.5% for investors at the time of this writing.\nThe biggest concern some investors have about AbbVie is the looming loss of U.S. patent protection for its blockbuster drug Humira in 2023. Humira is an immunosuppressive drug used to treat a range of conditions from arthritis to Crohn's disease. It raked in more sales than any other drug in the entire world in 2020 -- amassing total net revenues just shy of $20 billion during the 12-month period.\nThere's no doubt that AbbVie's balance sheet will reflect the loss of Humira's patent exclusivity in the U.S. in a few years. We need only look to AbbVie's loss of patent exclusivity in Europe -- which largely took effect in October 2018 -- as an example of this.\nCase in point: International sales of Humira were down 14% in 2020, but still totaled nearly $4 billion. In short, heightened competition in the U.S. will certainly detract from Humira's sales come 2023, but that doesn't mean that sales of the drug can't still inject healthy growth into AbbVie's balance sheet over the long term.\nIt's also important to note that AbbVie has a rock-star portfolio of top-selling drugs besides Humira. These include plaque psoriasis drug Skyrizi, cancer drugs Imbruvica and Venclexta, and rheumatoid arthritis drug Rinvoq. Moreover, AbbVie's acquisition of Allergan last year ushered well-known product names like Botox into its portfolio of lucrative products.\nAbbVie's first-quarter 2021 revenues of $13 billion represented a huge 51% increase from the year-ago period. Breaking AbbVie's first-quarter performance down by its top business segments -- immunology, hematologic oncology, aesthetics (which includes Botox Cosmetic), and neuroscience (which includes Botox Therapeutic) -- these four divisions marked respective year-over-year revenue growth of 13%, 8%, 35%, and 100%.\nIf you're looking for steady portfolio growth and attractive dividend income to anchor your portfolio in the next market storm, AbbVie offers shareholders the unbeatable combination of both.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":264,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":162811280,"gmtCreate":1624055871240,"gmtModify":1703827614190,"author":{"id":"3566874907603492","authorId":"3566874907603492","name":"Flyingcolour","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/801d36ac264e26d67963ea24b76ad07e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566874907603492","authorIdStr":"3566874907603492"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gold as a safe haven","listText":"Gold as a safe haven","text":"Gold as a safe haven","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/162811280","repostId":"2144771631","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":459,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":162819298,"gmtCreate":1624055751514,"gmtModify":1703827611286,"author":{"id":"3566874907603492","authorId":"3566874907603492","name":"Flyingcolour","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/801d36ac264e26d67963ea24b76ad07e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566874907603492","authorIdStr":"3566874907603492"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good insights :)","listText":"Good insights :)","text":"Good insights :)","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/162819298","repostId":"1138062216","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":527,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":162835801,"gmtCreate":1624055488103,"gmtModify":1703827604467,"author":{"id":"3566874907603492","authorId":"3566874907603492","name":"Flyingcolour","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/801d36ac264e26d67963ea24b76ad07e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566874907603492","authorIdStr":"3566874907603492"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"What differentiates nio is that they build a community of nio fans and their battery can be swapped quickly at stations","listText":"What differentiates nio is that they build a community of nio fans and their battery can be swapped quickly at stations","text":"What differentiates nio is that they build a community of nio fans and their battery can be swapped quickly at stations","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/162835801","repostId":"1148576248","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1148576248","pubTimestamp":1623979883,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1148576248?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-18 09:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO Is Winning","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1148576248","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"NIO is #1 in China's electric SUV market for good reason. The company's success is driven by its brilliant innovations and marketing strategy.NIO is growing faster than Tesla, and yet, it is trading at a discount.NIO Inc. stands out for its strong market position- #1 market share in electric SUV in China- and innovation in the rapidly growing and highly competitive electric vehicle industry. (NYSE:NIO) stands out for its strong market position- #1 market share in electric SUV in China- and innovation in the rapidly growing and highly competitive electric vehicle industry. This article will discuss why NIO is winning against some stiff competition, including against Tesla (TSLA).
\n
In addition, we will discuss NIO's business, financials, trading, valuation, and risks so readers could reach their own informed decision.
\n
Business: Why NIO Wins
\n
NIO positions itself in the premium SUV segment, focusing on smart EVs with a differentiated battery strategy.
\n
Delivered in March 2019, the company's first model, the ES8, is a luxury 7-seater SUV that is still the company's flagship product today. The ES8 is equipped with ADAS and AI system [NOMI] and is comparable to the BYD Song, Tesla Model X, the Audi Q7 45 e-Tron, etc.
\n
Source: Company
\n
Leveraging the installed base and customer goodwill due to the highly successful ES8, NIO successfully launched the ES6 and EC6.Recently, the company launched the ET7, its first sedan.
\n
Today, NIO is the top-selling brand in China's all-electric SUV market in April with a 23% market share, higher than Tesla's 17%, WM Motor and XPeng Motors'(NYSE:XPEV)7%, according to China Automotive Technology and Research Center data.
\n
One of the biggest competitive differentiators is NIO'sbattery strategy, which all but eliminates range anxiety, one of the biggest barriers to mass EV adoption. Not only could NIO cars be charged at any charging station for EVs, but the company also built hundreds of battery swapping stations in key cities in China, with plans to expanding to Europe.
\n
NIO's battery swapping strategy also gives the company the ability to offer a battery-as-a-service [BaaS] solution, which reduces the upfrontcostof purchasing an NIO vehicle by ~$11,000. Since cost is another major barrier to mass EV adoption, NIO's battery strategy appears brilliant as it solves both the range and cost problems.
\n
Source: Company
\n
Another differentiator is the NIO brand, which management created brilliantly by introducing the EP9 in 2016. Six EP9s have been sold to NIO investors for 2.5 million pounds, creating an aura of exclusivity and quality around the brand. Next, NIO targeted the mass-market luxury SUV segment with the ES8, firmly establishing the company as a luxury car OEM.
\n
Source: Company
\n
Chinese companies must struggle against the common perception that they make low-quality products. This is the same perception issue that Japanese companies faced following their defeat after WW2. Japan solved this problem by moving up the value chain as their economy matured and creating high-quality brands such as Sony(NYSE:SONY). Today, Japan is known for its craftsmanship.
\n
China is following the same trajectory, and NIO is one of the emerging brands destroying the perception that \"made in China\" equates to poor quality. I strongly believe that investors who stubbornly hold on to that old perception will miss out on investing in some of the greatest brands the world will ever see.
\n
Buying an NIO car means much more than just getting a vehicle; it means getting into an exclusive club of services and convenience. Benefits include access to hundreds of swapping stations, lifetime free roadside rescue (including charge vans), lifetime free cellular connectivity, lifetime free warranty, and excellent customer service. This is a powerful selling point for NIO, differentiating it from Tesla, which hasrecentlydeveloped a poor reputation on the customer service front in China.
\n
Source: Company
\n
The company is pushing the envelope even further with NIO House, a literal clubhouse for customers, and NIO Life, which includes NIO branded lifestyle products. NIO's effort to build a lifestyle around its cars seems to be working. This is good news for investors because the only way to escape the competitive battlefield of automobile OEM is to sell services and lifestyles to customers. This is why Ferrari's (RACE) operating margin is well over 20%, while Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) are in the single digits.
\n
Financials & Valuation
\n
NIO is in hyper-growth mode. In 2020, the company generated $2.5 billion in revenue, up 126% y/y. In 2021, the company is expected to grow 117% y/y to $5.4 billion.
\n
The company is not yet profitable but is expected to be by 2022. Gross margin only turned positive in 2020 and is expected to be 19.3% in 2021. EBITDA is expected to be negative $258 million in 2021 and a positive $206 million in 2022. Free cash flow is expected to be negative $42 million in 2021 before turning to a positive $354 million in 2022.
\n
However, despite the cash burn expected in 2021, investors should feel at ease since the company exited 2020 with $5.9 billion of cash and cash equivalents. Including $600 million in short-term investments and subtracting ~$2.1 billion in debt and operating leases and the expected negative free cash flow in 2021, NIO should exit 2021 with over $4 billion in net cash and investments. That is plenty of buffers since NIO is expected to generate positive free cash flow in 2022.
\n
Since NIO is not yet profitable, we will look at the forward EV/Sales multiple as is typical for hyper-growth companies not yet generating a profit. The company went public in September 2018, trading at around 7 to 8 times EV/Sales, before bottoming out at around 0.7 times sales in May 2019. The market, however, caught the EV fever in April 2020 and sent NIO's valuation soaring to a peak of 14.6x by January 2021. After the growth sell-off we recently experienced, NIO is currently sitting at a much more reasonable 8 times forward sales. This is a significant discount to TSLA's 10.2 times forward EV/Sales despite growing twice as fast (TSLA is expected to grow revenues by 57% in 2021 compared to NIO's 117%).
\n
Risks
\n
There are many risks associated with owning NIO.
\n
Although its battery swapping strategy is highly differentiated and seems to be growing rapidly, the jury is still out on the ultimate market share of battery swapping or fast-charging infrastructure. If fast charging technology continues to advance significantly, it will likely erode a key advantage of battery swapping: speed.
\n
NIO's business model is innovative and new. Unfortunately, the flip side of that is that it is untested, and NIO remains unprofitable. For many investors, NIO will remain a \"show me\" story until the profitability of its business model improves.
\n
NIO's ability to expand globally may be limited by the rising geopolitical tension between China and the US, and to a lesser extent, with Japan and Europe. The geopolitical situation remains highly opaque and uncertain, and is a risk factor for all auto OEMs.
\n
Auto OEMs are currently facing a severe chip shortage. (NYSE:NIO) stands out for its strong market position- #1 market share in electric SUV in China- and innovation in the rapidly growing and highly competitive electric vehicle industry. This article will discuss why NIO is winning against some stiff competition, including against Tesla (TSLA).\nIn addition, we will discuss NIO's business, financials, trading, valuation, and risks so readers could reach their own informed decision.\nBusiness: Why NIO Wins\nNIO positions itself in the premium SUV segment, focusing on smart EVs with a differentiated battery strategy.\nDelivered in March 2019, the company's first model, the ES8, is a luxury 7-seater SUV that is still the company's flagship product today. The ES8 is equipped with ADAS and AI system [NOMI] and is comparable to the BYD Song, Tesla Model X, the Audi Q7 45 e-Tron, etc.\nSource: Company\nLeveraging the installed base and customer goodwill due to the highly successful ES8, NIO successfully launched the ES6 and EC6.Recently, the company launched the ET7, its first sedan.\nToday, NIO is the top-selling brand in China's all-electric SUV market in April with a 23% market share, higher than Tesla's 17%, WM Motor and XPeng Motors'(NYSE:XPEV)7%, according to China Automotive Technology and Research Center data.\nOne of the biggest competitive differentiators is NIO'sbattery strategy, which all but eliminates range anxiety, one of the biggest barriers to mass EV adoption. Not only could NIO cars be charged at any charging station for EVs, but the company also built hundreds of battery swapping stations in key cities in China, with plans to expanding to Europe.\nNIO's battery swapping strategy also gives the company the ability to offer a battery-as-a-service [BaaS] solution, which reduces the upfrontcostof purchasing an NIO vehicle by ~$11,000. Since cost is another major barrier to mass EV adoption, NIO's battery strategy appears brilliant as it solves both the range and cost problems.\nSource: Company\nAnother differentiator is the NIO brand, which management created brilliantly by introducing the EP9 in 2016. Six EP9s have been sold to NIO investors for 2.5 million pounds, creating an aura of exclusivity and quality around the brand. Next, NIO targeted the mass-market luxury SUV segment with the ES8, firmly establishing the company as a luxury car OEM.\nSource: Company\nChinese companies must struggle against the common perception that they make low-quality products. This is the same perception issue that Japanese companies faced following their defeat after WW2. Japan solved this problem by moving up the value chain as their economy matured and creating high-quality brands such as Sony(NYSE:SONY). Today, Japan is known for its craftsmanship.\nChina is following the same trajectory, and NIO is one of the emerging brands destroying the perception that \"made in China\" equates to poor quality. I strongly believe that investors who stubbornly hold on to that old perception will miss out on investing in some of the greatest brands the world will ever see.\nBuying an NIO car means much more than just getting a vehicle; it means getting into an exclusive club of services and convenience. Benefits include access to hundreds of swapping stations, lifetime free roadside rescue (including charge vans), lifetime free cellular connectivity, lifetime free warranty, and excellent customer service. This is a powerful selling point for NIO, differentiating it from Tesla, which hasrecentlydeveloped a poor reputation on the customer service front in China.\nSource: Company\nThe company is pushing the envelope even further with NIO House, a literal clubhouse for customers, and NIO Life, which includes NIO branded lifestyle products. NIO's effort to build a lifestyle around its cars seems to be working. This is good news for investors because the only way to escape the competitive battlefield of automobile OEM is to sell services and lifestyles to customers. This is why Ferrari's (RACE) operating margin is well over 20%, while Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) are in the single digits.\nFinancials & Valuation\nNIO is in hyper-growth mode. In 2020, the company generated $2.5 billion in revenue, up 126% y/y. In 2021, the company is expected to grow 117% y/y to $5.4 billion.\nThe company is not yet profitable but is expected to be by 2022. Gross margin only turned positive in 2020 and is expected to be 19.3% in 2021. EBITDA is expected to be negative $258 million in 2021 and a positive $206 million in 2022. Free cash flow is expected to be negative $42 million in 2021 before turning to a positive $354 million in 2022.\nHowever, despite the cash burn expected in 2021, investors should feel at ease since the company exited 2020 with $5.9 billion of cash and cash equivalents. Including $600 million in short-term investments and subtracting ~$2.1 billion in debt and operating leases and the expected negative free cash flow in 2021, NIO should exit 2021 with over $4 billion in net cash and investments. That is plenty of buffers since NIO is expected to generate positive free cash flow in 2022.\nSince NIO is not yet profitable, we will look at the forward EV/Sales multiple as is typical for hyper-growth companies not yet generating a profit. This is a significant discount to TSLA's 10.2 times forward EV/Sales despite growing twice as fast (TSLA is expected to grow revenues by 57% in 2021 compared to NIO's 117%).\nRisks\nThere are many risks associated with owning NIO.\nAlthough its battery swapping strategy is highly differentiated and seems to be growing rapidly, the jury is still out on the ultimate market share of battery swapping or fast-charging infrastructure. If fast charging technology continues to advance significantly, it will likely erode a key advantage of battery swapping: speed.\nNIO's business model is innovative and new. Unfortunately, the flip side of that is that it is untested, and NIO remains unprofitable. For many investors, NIO will remain a \"show me\" story until the profitability of its business model improves.\nNIO's ability to expand globally may be limited by the rising geopolitical tension between China and the US, and to a lesser extent, with Japan and Europe. The geopolitical situation remains highly opaque and uncertain, and is a risk factor for all auto OEMs.\nAuto OEMs are currently facing a severe chip shortage. In addition, the chip density in automobiles is increasing, making the OEMs increasingly reliant on semiconductor suppliers and foundries.\nNIO's competitive advantages may not overcome the massive scale advantage of ICE OEMs and much bigger EV players like Tesla and China's BYD.\nTakeaway\nNIO's technical and business model innovations make it a highly differentiated company in the exciting and rapidly growing EV market. The company is winning, and its competitive moat is getting bigger as its ecosystem of vehicles and services grows. Relative to the industry leader, Tesla, NIO's stock price seems like a bargain given its faster growth rate and lower multiples.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":540,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":315748662,"gmtCreate":1612278151156,"gmtModify":1704869215970,"author":{"id":"3566874907603492","authorId":"3566874907603492","name":"Flyingcolour","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/801d36ac264e26d67963ea24b76ad07e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566874907603492","authorIdStr":"3566874907603492"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gogogo","listText":"Gogogo","text":"Gogogo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/315748662","repostId":"1113195747","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":340,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3527667803686145","authorId":"3527667803686145","name":"社区成长助手","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2b7c7106b5c0c8b0037faa67439d898f","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3527667803686145","authorIdStr":"3527667803686145"},"content":"Finally, when you first post [compare heart] [compare heart] post, you can get more exposure by related stocks or related topics. That's exactly what has transpired over the past 13 years.\nIn 2008, e-commerce sales accounted for just 3.6% of total retail sales in the United States, according to data from eMarketer. Following gradual growth year after year, that figure skyrocketed to 14% in 2020, as the Covid pandemic fueled online spending on everything from groceries and toilet paper to spin bikes and workout clothes. E-commerce sales are predicted to account for 15.3% of total retail sales by the end of this year and jump to 23.5% by 2025, eMarketer said.\n\nFalling second to Amazon and far behind, big-box chainWalmartis predicted to take about 7% of the digital retail market this year. The two are followed byeBay,Apple,Home Depot,TargetandBest Buy, according to eMarketer.\nWalmart and Target are holding competing deals events — as they have in past years — to coincide with Amazon Prime Day 2021. Both discounters will start sales on Sunday, but Walmart's offers extend through Wednesday, while Target and Amazon end on Tuesday. Both Walmart and Target hope to reach customers who are already browsing the web on Prime Day for summer discounts.\n\nAccording toa recent research reportfromJPMorgan, Amazon is on track to overtake Walmart as the largest U.S. retailer in 2022, as it gains a greater and greater share of the total e-commerce market. Consumers' accelerated adoption of internet shopping during the Covid pandemic has also provided a lift to other areas of Amazon's business, too, JPMorgan said.\nEMarketer is forecasting that total digital sales in the U.S. on Prime Day will jump 17.3% year over year to $12.18 billion. Sales made exclusively on Amazon on Prime Day will grow 18.3% from 2020 levels, to $7.31 billion, it said.\nLast year, Amazon's typical July timing for its shopping extravaganza was postponed all the way into October because of the pandemic. Prime Day ended up marking the unofficial kick-off to the holiday shopping season.\nBack on a more normal schedule, this year's event has been moved up slightlyinto June. Experts say the company is looking to boost spending in what is normally a slower time in the retail calendar. That’s almost double the 23% return for the real estate sector, which is the second-best sector. The S&P 500 is up nearly 12% this year.\nEnergy’s big start to the year means that even if the sector goes nowhere for the rest of 2021, it will still be the best year since 1990 by nearly 10%, according to Bay Crest Partners chief market technician Jonathan Krinsky.\nThe surge in energy stocks comes on the back of a recovery in oil prices, and as investors return to areas of the market that were left out of 2020′s rebound from the pandemic lows. The sector was also starting from a low base. In 2020, the group fell 37.3% for its worst performance since inception in 1989.\nKrinsky is among those saying the upside move is overdone, and his call is to sell crude oil and energy stocks broadly. From a technical standpoint, he noted that the $420 to $450 level acted as support — a floor — for the group during the last decade. But then during the Covid sell-off, the sector plunged below that key level — breaking below $200 — as the pandemic ground economies around the world to a halt.\n\nThe S&P Energy Sector has since recovered and traded as high as $420 on Thursday, inching closer to their prior support level, which now acts as resistance, or where an uptrend could be expected to reverse.\n“Oftentimes when you break a very important support like that, once you come back and test it as resistance, it’s difficult to exceed that — at least on the first try,” Krinsky noted.\nGauging performance from Jan. 1 might seem arbitrary, but he added that the sector’s outperformance is notable from virtually any date. Over the last eight months, the group has returned over 90%, which Krinsky says is more than two times the prior largest such gain over the last three decades.\n“Even on a rolling basis this is somewhat unprecedented,” he said. His bearish call on the sector also stems from other commodities breaking down, including lumber and copper. The latter is now breaking its uptrend, and Krinsky noted that copper was a leading indicator for the 2020 low, hitting a bottom one month ahead of West Texas Intermediate Crude futures.\nTOP-PERFORMING S&P 500 ENERGY STOCKS THIS YEAR\n\n\n\nTICKER\nCOMPANY\nPRICE\n%CHANGE\nYIELD\nPREVIOUS CLOSE\n\n\n\n\nMRO\nMarathon Oil Corp\n12.83\n-0.4655\n12.83\n12.89\n\n\nFANG\nDiamondback Energy Inc\n86.23\n-0.7596\n86.23\n86.89\n\n\nDVN\nDevon Energy Corp\n27.22\n-1.3411\n27.22\n27.59\n\n\nEOG\nEOG Resources Inc\n80.795\n-0.7798\n80.795\n81.43\n\n\n\nWithin the sector,Marathon Oilhas gained nearly 93% this year, making it the top-performing energy stock in the S&P 500.\nDiamondback Energyrose about 80% year to date, andDevon Energyclimbed more than 70%.OccidentalandEOG Resourcesare up more than 60%.\nAmid the outperformance the group remains unloved by Wall Street as factors – including environmental, social and corporate governance investing – prompt investors to shy away from the sector. Bank of America recently noted that the entire sector makes up just 2% of the average long-only portfolio, or less than half the allocation toward Facebook, which sits at 4.2%.\nEnergy still comprises a tiny portion of the S&P 500, but as the sector’s weighting grows, fund managers who shun the space could risk returns.\nMRB Partners on Thursday reiterated its overweight rating on the group, saying the recovery in demand for petroleum products, coupled with ongoing supply constraints, should push oil prices higher, leading to further returns for energy stocks.\n“Strengthening cash flows, leaner cost structures, and better capital discipline position the industry to moderately increase capital returns to shareholders,” strategists led by Salvatore Ruscitti wrote in a note to clients. “Relative performance will benefit from the reflationary backdrop and our expectations for a softer U.S. dollar.”\nWhen it comes to specific stocks, Gilman Hill Asset Management CEO Jenny Harrington owns names includingChevron,OneokandKinder Morgan. She noted on Thursday’s“Halftime Report”that it’s important to look at the whole picture. While oil is at its highest level in nearly two and a half years, it’s trading at about half the level it was just a few years ago. On the flip side, it’s well above where it traded in June of 2020 as the pandemic took hold.\n“They’re all trading at a fraction of the market multiple,” Harrington said of the energy stocks she owns. “They all have hefty dividend yields,” she added, arguing that strong earnings growth means “there’s a lot of room to go here.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":527,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9003273675,"gmtCreate":1641004002072,"gmtModify":1676533562929,"author":{"id":"3566874907603492","authorId":"3566874907603492","name":"Flyingcolour","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/801d36ac264e26d67963ea24b76ad07e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566874907603492","authorIdStr":"3566874907603492"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good view!
Moreover, AbbVie's acquisition of Allergan last year ushered well-known product names like Botox into its portfolio of lucrative products.
\n
AbbVie's first-quarter 2021 revenues of $13 billion represented a huge 51% increase from the year-ago period. Breaking AbbVie's first-quarter performance down by its top business segments -- immunology, hematologic oncology, aesthetics (which includes Botox Cosmetic), and neuroscience (which includes Botox Therapeutic) -- these four divisions marked respective year-over-year revenue growth of 13%, 8%, 35%, and 100%.
\n
If you're looking for steady portfolio growth and attractive dividend income to anchor your portfolio in the next market storm, AbbVie offers shareholders the unbeatable combination of both.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Next Market Crash: 2 Top Growth Stocks to Buy Right Now
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nNext Market Crash: 2 Top Growth Stocks to Buy Right Now\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-18 21:51 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The state of the stock market in recent weeks hasn't been for the faint of heart.
In addition, the chip density in automobiles is increasing, making the OEMs increasingly reliant on semiconductor suppliers and foundries.
\n
NIO's competitive advantages may not overcome the massive scale advantage of ICE OEMs and much bigger EV players like Tesla and China's BYD.
\n
Takeaway
\n
NIO's technical and business model innovations make it a highly differentiated company in the exciting and rapidly growing EV market. The company is winning, and its competitive moat is getting bigger as its ecosystem of vehicles and services grows. Relative to the industry leader, Tesla, NIO's stock price seems like a bargain given its faster growth rate and lower multiples.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":540,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":315748662,"gmtCreate":1612278151156,"gmtModify":1704869215970,"author":{"id":"3566874907603492","authorId":"3566874907603492","name":"Flyingcolour","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/801d36ac264e26d67963ea24b76ad07e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566874907603492","authorIdStr":"3566874907603492"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gogogo","listText":"Gogogo","text":"Gogogo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/315748662","repostId":"1113195747","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1113195747","pubTimestamp":1612259771,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1113195747?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-02-02 17:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Gamestop, silver spot down, \"farce\" is slowly ending?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1113195747","media":"reuters","summary":"SINGAPORE (Reuters) - GameStop shares slid in Frankfurt and U.S. pre-market trade on Tuesday and a s","content":"
SINGAPORE (Reuters) - GameStop shares slid in Frankfurt and U.S. pre-market trade on Tuesday and a silver buying spree led by small investors subsided as retail-driven mania for shorted assets started to show signs of fizzling out.
\n
GameStop’s Frankfurt-listed shares were down 30% from Monday’s close at 143 euros ($172.72) in early trade on Tuesday, after the firm’s stock closed at $225 in U.S. markets. On the heels of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Curio Collection by Hilton’s June opening celebration, and just weeks before the anticipated debut of Conrad Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels & Resorts at the integrated Resorts World Las Vegas complex, Hilton is making an epic return to this top-tier travel destination, bringing new premium and luxury brands to the Strip.
\n
\"Hilton helped create the Las Vegas we know today – the entertainment capital of the world grew as we invested in unparalleled hotels, dining, entertainment and design,\" said Hilton President and CEO Chris Nassetta. \"Now we are raising the bar again, offering brands for any style of travel with a renewed focus on premium and luxury hotels.
