Street saw massive upside for Asian tech giant Grab, after disappointing debut.
\n
<img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/722d12abbd9fc66fd8ccd5576d98e63c\" tg-width=\"841\" tg-height=\"619\" It became the largest-ever company to close a SPAC merger and go public.
\n
But shares fell more than 20% from $13.06 to $8.75 a piece in the first day of trading. Since then, the stock has fallen another 16%.
\n
Still, JPMorgan likes the stock and said the company has a “superior regional superapp” and multiple opportunities for “multi-year growth.” The investment bank said that Grab’s regional leadership in Southeast Asia is driven by a highly scalable and localized platform that is underpinned by its proprietary technology.
\n
“The platform enables Grab to offer its services at a structurally lower cost base vs peers, with higher retention rates,” JPMorgan analysts wrote in their initiation coverage note earlier this month. “Grab’s platform gives it further advantages over its peers with limited geographical presence and/or fewer services, as Grab can allocate cash flows across countries and services to deliver on growth.”
\n
Here are JPMorgan, Citi and Evercore’s ratings and price targets for Grab, and why they like the stock:
\n
JPMorgan
\n
JPMorgan initiated coverage on Grab with an overweight rating and a price target of $12.50 over the next 12 months — that represents over 70% upside from the Dec. 23 closing price of $7.35.
\n
Based on the investment bank’s rating system, an overweight rating implies JPMorgan expects Grab’s stock to outperform over the next six to 12 months.
\n
The analysts said Grab’s superior regional app, comprising multiple services including ride-hailing and food delivery, is “best geared to rising online consumption” in Southeast Asia. They said they identified gross merchandize value and revenue growth as key catalysts for the company and they see “multiple opportunities for multi-year growth.”
\n
GMV is a metric often used in e-commerce to measure the total dollar value of goods sold over a certain period of time.
\n
The investment bank said Grab is a leader in ride-hailing across the region and that could lead to a highly profitable mobility business, where lifting Covid restrictions and broader economic reopening could drive growth.
\n
While the company’s delivery business is at an earlier stage of development, JPMorgan said there’s growth potential due to the relatively fragmented, but large total addressable market for food delivery and groceries. But the bank said that Grab is likely to see losses in the near-to-mid term due to investments and competition for market share.
\n
The analysts warned, however, that Grab’s stock price could be volatile over the next six months as the free float expands due to staggered expiration of lock-ups that will release additional shares. Potential inclusion in MSCI indexes could also contribute to the volatility, JPMorgan said.
\n
Citi
\n
Citi initiated coverage of Grab with a buy rating and a price target of $12 a share, but also flagged the stock as high risk.
\n
Compared with regional peers, Citi analysts said Grab benefits from its ability to capture larger volumes of consumer data given higher frequency of delivery and mobility demand compared to services like e-commerce. That gives the company an easier way to cross-sell its financial services products, they added.
\n
The analysts pointed out that Grab has a “broader geographic footprint with more equal strength in the ... Southeast Asia countries in which it operates,” compared with Indonesian rival GoTo Group.
\n
Citi said, however, spending per transaction and per user is lower for Grab than other regional players like Sea, which operates e-commerce platform Shopee. That implies Grab would face more headwinds if Covid cases in the region surge again, forcing countries to impose lockdowns and other mobility restrictions.
\n
“Grab also lacks a high-margin gaming business and global exposure given its Southeast Asia focus,” Citi analysts said.
\n
Evercore
\n
Evercore initiated coverage with an outperform rating and a price target of $10.
\n
The firm said Grab will likely face more local competition in each market for its delivery business compared to ridesharing, where the only other international incumbent is GoTo Group’s Gojek — particularly, in Indonesia.
\n
“Within its Delivery segment, Grab faces a bit more competition across its core geographies,” Evercore analysts said in a recent note. They flagged the likes of Foodpanda, Gojek and Deliveroo in Singapore, LineMan in Thailand as well as Now and Baemin in Vietnam as competitors.
\n
“Lastly, Grab competes with last-mile logistics providers such as Gojek and Lalamove, and more local last-mile players such as AhaMove (Vietnam),” the analysts said.
\n
In the financial services business, Grab faces competition from traditional players including credit card companies, banks as well as cash, which is still the predominant mode of payment in Southeast Asia.
\n
Still, the Evercore analysts said that most of Grab’s core business segments including delivery, mobility and financial services remain underpenetrated, which grants the Singapore-headquartered company “a probable long runway for growth.”
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Grab stock climbed more than 3% in premarket trading
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nGrab stock climbed more than 3% in premarket trading\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Tiger Newspress
\n
2021-12-27 20:40
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
Grab stock climbed more than 3% in premarket trading as Wall Street saw massive upside for Asian tech giant Grab, after disappointing debut.
\n

\n
Grab debuted on the Nasdaq following a deal with blank-check company Altimeter Growth Corp., which valued the company at nearly $40 billion. Southeast Asia countries in which it operates,” compared with Indonesian rival GoTo Group.\nCiti said, however, spending per transaction and per user is lower for Grab than other regional players like Sea, which operates e-commerce platform Shopee. That implies Grab would face more headwinds if Covid cases in the region surge again, forcing countries to impose lockdowns and other mobility restrictions.\n“Grab also lacks a high-margin gaming business and global exposure given its Southeast Asia focus,” Citi analysts said.\nEvercore\nEvercore initiated coverage with an outperform rating and a price target of $10.\nThe firm said Grab will likely face more local competition in each market for its delivery business compared to ridesharing, where the only other international incumbent is GoTo Group’s Gojek — particularly, in Indonesia.\n“Within its Delivery segment, Grab faces a bit more competition across its core geographies,” Evercore analysts said in a recent note. They flagged the likes of Foodpanda, Gojek and Deliveroo in Singapore, LineMan in Thailand as well as Now and Baemin in Vietnam as competitors.\n“Lastly, Grab competes with last-mile logistics providers such as Gojek and Lalamove, and more local last-mile players such as AhaMove (Vietnam),” the analysts said.\nIn the financial services business, Grab faces competition from traditional players including credit card companies, banks as well as cash, which is still the predominant mode of payment in Southeast Asia.\nStill, the Evercore analysts said that most of Grab’s core business segments including delivery, mobility and financial services remain underpenetrated, which grants the Singapore-headquartered company “a probable long runway for growth.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":587,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":897022546,"gmtCreate":1628863956885,"gmtModify":1676529879660,"author":{"id":"3567553779857860","authorId":"3567553779857860","name":"Ttaatt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7ab91504289c3d18d7c04d36477c0725","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567553779857860","authorIdStr":"3567553779857860"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a Shares of the coronavirus vaccine maker have increased more than 30% over the past five days, rising as high as $313. As a result, the company crossed into $100 billion market cap territory.
\n
Investors may be anticipating more revenue down the road for the biotech company. That's because the health crisis is deepening once again. The highly contagious delta variant is gaining ground in the U.S. and has become the dominant strain in the country, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And health authorities recently said 97% of hospitalized patients these days haven't been vaccinated. Against this backdrop, White House Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci made a statement that could result in more revenue for Moderna.
\n

\n
\n
Hospitalizations increase
\n
First, a bit of data. The current seven-day average for coronavirus hospital admissions increased more than 35% from the previous seven days. And numbers have been on the rise since June 25.
\n
Dr. Fauci told CNN that if more people don't get a jab, we'll see a \"smoldering of this outbreak in our country for a considerable period of time.\"
\n
This should set the stage for big revenue for Moderna, right? The idea is this statement will convince many unvaccinated individuals to receive a vaccination. Well, yes -- but we'll have to be patient. Even if the unvaccinated rush to vaccination centers, a revenue boost won't be immediate. Moderna said in May its orders so far this year represent $19.2 billion in product revenue. This includes the U.S. government's order for enough vaccine doses from Moderna (and rival Pfizer) to cover almost every American.
\n
Right now, 59.6% of the U.S. population ages 18 and older is fully vaccinated. If the remaining 40% of the population opts for vaccination, it means the ordered doses will make their way into people's arms -- rather than hanging around on a shelf.
\n
Bigger orders ahead?
\n
Now, let's look at how today's situation could lead to more revenue for Moderna. If, indeed, many Americans opt for vaccination now, the government may consider even bigger orders for the future. That's because leaders will be more certain the doses actually will be used.
\n
Last month, the U.S. ordered another 200 million Moderna doses for delivery through the first quarter of 2022. What happens now in terms of vaccination will impact how many doses are ordered beyond that point.
\n
Individuals' decisions about the vaccine now will impact eventual orders for boosters, too -- and even vaccines for kids. Those who get the full two-dose regimen today will need a booster down the road. So, an increase in vaccinations now equals an increase in the number of booster doses needed in the future. As for the kids market, adults who go for vaccination today are likely to make the same choice for their kids tomorrow. More than 73 million individuals in the U.S. are under age 18, according to Kids Count data. So the market is significant.
\n
Moderna is studying potential boosters in clinical trials and says one may be ready by fall. The company has asked for authorization of its vaccine in teens. And a trial in younger children is ongoing.
\n
What does this mean for Moderna?
\n
Growth in the delta strain and messages from leaders like Dr. Fauci will probably prompt an increase in vaccinations. And even if this increase isn't huge, it weighs in favor of bigger rather than smaller vaccine orders down the road. That means vaccine revenue next year could be even higher than it is this year.
\n
Optimism about this great need for vaccinations now and into the future is likely to keep Moderna's share price climbing, even considering the recent gains. The stock is trading above the most optimistic Wall Street 12-month share price forecasts. And its price in relation to forward earnings estimates has climbed 53% over the past month. If you're a bargain hunter, you may wait for a bit of a pullback before jumping in.
\n
Still, I'm bullish on Moderna for the long term. The coronavirus vaccine is a billion-dollar product. And the company has other exciting programs in the pipeline. Shares of the coronavirus vaccine maker have increased more than 30% over the past five days, rising as high as $313. As a result, the company crossed into $100 billion market cap territory.\nInvestors may be anticipating more revenue down the road for the biotech company. Anthony Fauci made a statement that could result in more revenue for Moderna.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nHospitalizations increase\nFirst, a bit of data. The current seven-day average for coronavirus hospital admissions increased more than 35% from the previous seven days. And numbers have been on the rise since June 25.\nDr. Fauci told CNN that if more people don't get a jab, we'll see a \"smoldering of this outbreak in our country for a considerable period of time.\"\nThis should set the stage for big revenue for Moderna, right? The idea is this statement will convince many unvaccinated individuals to receive a vaccination. Well, yes -- but we'll have to be patient. Even if the unvaccinated rush to vaccination centers, a revenue boost won't be immediate. Moderna said in May its orders so far this year represent $19.2 billion in product revenue. This includes the U.S. government's order for enough vaccine doses from Moderna (and rival Pfizer) to cover almost every American.\nRight now, 59.6% of the U.S. population ages 18 and older is fully vaccinated. If the remaining 40% of the population opts for vaccination, it means the ordered doses will make their way into people's arms -- rather than hanging around on a shelf.\nBigger orders ahead?\nNow, let's look at how today's situation could lead to more revenue for Moderna. If, indeed, many Americans opt for vaccination now, the government may consider even bigger orders for the future. That's because leaders will be more certain the doses actually will be used.\nLast month, the U.S. ordered another 200 million Moderna doses for delivery through the first quarter of 2022. What happens now in terms of vaccination will impact how many doses are ordered beyond that point.\nIndividuals' decisions about the vaccine now will impact eventual orders for boosters, too -- and even vaccines for kids. So the market is significant.\nModerna is studying potential boosters in clinical trials and says one may be ready by fall. The company has asked for authorization of its vaccine in teens. And a trial in younger children is ongoing.\nWhat does this mean for Moderna?\nGrowth in the delta strain and messages from leaders like Dr. Fauci will probably prompt an increase in vaccinations. And even if this increase isn't huge, it weighs in favor of bigger rather than smaller vaccine orders down the road. That means vaccine revenue next year could be even higher than it is this year.\nOptimism about this great need for vaccinations now and into the future is likely to keep Moderna's share price climbing, even considering the recent gains. The stock is trading above the most optimistic Wall Street 12-month share price forecasts. And its price in relation to forward earnings estimates has climbed 53% over the past month. If you're a bargain hunter, you may wait for a bit of a pullback before jumping in.\nStill, I'm bullish on Moderna for the long term. The coronavirus vaccine is a billion-dollar product. And the company has other exciting programs in the pipeline. So even if you buy at the high, you may be happy you did a few years down the road.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":106,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":172534418,"gmtCreate":1626965672134,"gmtModify":1703481586825,"author":{"id":"3567553779857860","authorId":"3567553779857860","name":"Ttaatt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7ab91504289c3d18d7c04d36477c0725","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567553779857860","authorIdStr":"3567553779857860"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$DJIA(.DJI)$Hey","listText":"$DJIA(.DJI)$Hey","text":"$DJIA(.DJI)$Hey","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/172534418","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":251,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":172534107,"gmtCreate":1626965645009,"gmtModify":1703481586341,"author":{"id":"3567553779857860","authorId":"3567553779857860","name":"Ttaatt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7ab91504289c3d18d7c04d36477c0725","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567553779857860","authorIdStr":"3567553779857860"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes!","listText":"Yes!","text":"Yes!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/172534107","repostId":"2153673385","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2153673385","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1626956580,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2153673385?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-22 20:23","market":"us","language":"en","title":"2 Cannabis Stocks That Could Make You Rich","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2153673385","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Unlike many companies in the cannabis industry, these two are posting strong numbers on both their top and bottom lines.","content":"
If you a growth investor who wants to earn some fantastic long-term returns, cannabis is an industry you shouldn't overlook. But as well as Curaleaf's stock has performed thus far, more gains could be ahead. In its most recent earnings results, released on May 10 for the period ending March 31, the company said it raised $300 million to focus on and scale its operations in states that have recently legalized marijuana for recreational use. That includes New York and New Jersey, which passed legislation to permit adult-use pot this year -- two markets Curaleaf already has a presence in.
\n
As Curaleaf expands its operations, the company's results will likely only get better. GrowGeneration
\n
GrowGeneration has produced even more impressive returns over the past year, with its share price skyrocketing 460%. The company has a distinct advantage over Curaleaf and other marijuana producers: It isn't directly involved in the plant business. That's important, because that means it doesn't need to worry about the federal ban on marijuana, and its products can cross state lines.
\n
The company only gives growers the tools they need to grow marijuana and other crops. The business had a fantastic 2020, with sales of $193 million increasing by 143% from the previous year. The company was profitable without even having to rely on adjusted EBITDA -- its net income was more than $5 million.
\n
And during the first three months of 2021 it is continuing to post strong numbers, with sales hitting $90 million, nearly three times the $33 million it recorded in the same period last year. Net income during the period already totaled more than $6 million. The business is doing even better than expected, and has upgraded its guidance; GrowGeneration expects revenue for the year to fall within a range of $450 million to $470 million (when it released its year-end results in March the forecast was between $415 million and $430 million).
\n
As of the end of Q1 the company had 53 hydroponic and garden stores across 12 states, more than double the 24 locations it had two years earlier. Earlier this year it announced that it was entering the Massachusetts market through the acquisition of Aquarius Hydroponics.
\n
Despite its already impressive growth numbers, there's still plenty of room for GrowGeneration to expand. Shares of the coronavirus vaccine maker have increased more than 30% over the past five days, rising as high as $313.

So even if you buy at the high, you may be happy you did a few years down the road.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
How This Warning from Dr. Fauci May Equal Higher Revenue for Moderna
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nHow This Warning from Dr. Fauci May Equal Higher Revenue for Moderna\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-22 20:22 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) is once again giving its investors reason to cheer. Shares of the coronavirus vaccine maker have increased more than 30% over the past five days, rising as high as $313. As a result, the company crossed into $100 billion market cap territory.\nInvestors may be anticipating more revenue down the road for the biotech company. Well, yes -- but we'll have to be patient. many companies in the cannabis industry, these two are posting strong numbers on both their top and bottom lines.","content":"
If you a growth investor who wants to earn some fantastic long-term returns, cannabis is an industry you shouldn't overlook. Analysts from Grand View Research project the global legal marijuana market will be worth more than $70 billion in 2028, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 26.7% until then.
\n
However, that doesn't mean just any pot stock will be a good investment. It's still important to buy shares of companies that have been able to balance growth while maintaining strong bottom lines -- this minimizes the risk of future share dilution. Two businesses that fall into that category and could make you rich over the long term are Curaleaf Holdings (OTC:CURLF) and GrowGeneration (NASDAQ:GRWG).
\n

\n
\n
1. Curaleaf
\n
Curaleaf is among the industry leaders in the cannabis business. Its presence has grown significantly over the years -- today it has more than 100 dispensaries, more than double the 48 it had two years ago, and operates in 23 states, up from 12 in 2019. Since 2019, it has launched operations in Europe. The company hasn't been shy about expansion, and it is likely to hit the $1 billion revenue mark this year.
\n
Over the past 12 months, its shares have soared more than 86%, outpacing the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF, which has increased by a more modest rate of 33%.
Here's how it has done in terms of the past four quarters when looking at both its sales and adjusted EBITDA -- what cannabis companies usually rely on as a kinder measure of profitability:
\n
\n
\n
\n
Period Ending
\n
Total Revenue
\n
YOY Growth Rate
\n
Adjusted EBITDA
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
March 31, 2021
\n

$260 million

\n
170%
\n
$63 million
\n
\n
\n
Dec. 31, 2020
\n

$230 million

\n
184%
\n
$54 million
\n
\n
\n
Sep. 30, 2020
\n

$182 million

\n
195%
\n
$42 million
\n
\n
\n
June 30, 2020
\n

$117 million

\n
142%
\n
$28 million
\n
\n
\n
\n
Data source: Company filings. YOY = year over year.
\n
If Curaleaf can continue growing not just its revenue but its bottom line, there's little doubt that the stock can be a long-term buy that will make you rich over the years.
\n
The business has been growing through acquisitions, and with a smaller footprint than Curaleaf's, there's ample room for the company to get even bigger than it is today. Earlier this year it announced that it was entering the Massachusetts market through the acquisition of Aquarius Hydroponics.
\n
Despite its already impressive growth numbers, there's still plenty of room for GrowGeneration to expand. And if it can keep posting profits along the way, the stock will continue to rise -- and significantly boost your portfolio's value over the years.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Cannabis Stocks That Could Make You Rich
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Cannabis Stocks That Could Make You Rich\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-22 20:23 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
If you a growth investor who wants to earn some fantastic long-term returns, cannabis is an industry you shouldn't overlook.
