All this creates a risk that as things get back to normal, the market overall could be due for a correction. Some of the money that has been flowing into it could be cashed out and put back into bonds as interest rates rise, or used for other purposes as spending resumes and people choose to hold less in stocks.
\n
If I owned Moderna, Inc. , fuboTV Inc., or Pinterest, Inc., I'd be considering selling them right now. Each company's share prices has more than doubled in the past year, blowing past the S&P 500 and its 35% gains during that time. But with inflated valuations and the possibility of a crash looming, they become riskier as each day passes by.
\n

\n
\n
1. Moderna
\n
Moderna has soared by 250% in 12 months, and for good reason -- its COVID-19 vaccine obtained emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last year. The company expects to generate more than $18 billion in revenue from the vaccine in 2021, and its bottom line will finally be in the black -- in 2020 its losses totaled $747 million, triple what it lost in 2017.
\n
Things are certainly looking up for Moderna, especially with rival Pfizer looking to get the OK from the FDA for a third dose of its vaccine to help fight the delta variant. If Pfizer is successful, it's likely Moderna would follow suit, which could bring in even more revenue for the company. But there's no certainty that will happen. And more vaccines could be coming to market soon, including one from Novavax, which plans to apply for authorization from the FDA during the third quarter.
\n
As countries have more options for vaccines, that will inevitably bring down the revenue and potential market share for Moderna. And beyond that, there are questions about what the future holds for Moderna after COVID-19. While its mRNA technology has proven to be effective, that doesn't guarantee that other vaccines in its pipeline will succeed. Its vaccine for cytomegalovirus, currently the furthest along, is entering phase 3 trials. With a peak annual revenue potential of between $2 billion and $5 billion, however, the company won't be able to solely rely on it in replacing COVID-19-related revenue.
\n
Moderna's future is a question mark for me, and while its forward price-to-earnings ratio of 11 looks cheap, that could change drastically post-COVID. Even on a forward basis, the stock is trading at more than 6 times revenue -- Pfizer is at just 3. Although Moderna is doing well right now, its stock is expensive and could be due for a correction soon.
\n
2. fuboTV
\n
Streaming and entertainment company fuboTV isn't profitable, nor does profitability look to be in its sights. But that hasn't stopped investors from jumping on its bandwagon, driving shares up by more than 160% in 12 months. Its subscriber base as of March 31 topped 590,000 people -- a year-over-year increase of 105%. And the company may continue attracting more subscribers thanks to plans to launch a sportsbook before the end of the year.
\n
However, while the company is growing fast, my concern is that its approach may be too aggressive in pursuing revenue. In its most recent quarterly results, for the period ending March 31, revenue of $120 million was nowhere near enough to cover its $185 million in operating expenses. Of particular concern is that fuboTV has incurred subscriber-related expenses of $113 million -- more than the $107 million it brought in from subscription-related revenue.
\n
Without good margins to support the company's growth, the problem for investors is that fuboTV's financials may not get stronger as it expands, which could lead to an inevitable need to raise cash -- diluting existing shareholders. fuboTV currently trades at a multiple of 6 times its revenue, and although that's cheaper than Netflix's multiple of more than 9, the streaming giant is at least profitable. In a crash, investors look for safety, and without a strong bottom line, fuboTV's stock could fall quickly.
\n
3. Pinterest
\n
Pinterest's stock has benefited from people staying at home during the pandemic and using its discovery engine to explore hobbies and interests. As of the end of March, the company had 478 million monthly active users (MAUs), an increase of 30% year over year. That tops last year's results, in which MAUs of 367 million grew by 26%. The company does expect to see a slowdown next quarter, however, with its MAU growth rate likely to be in the \"mid-teens.\"
\n
Even with the rising user base and a 78% year-over-year increase in sales this past quarter to $485 million, the company still posted a net loss of $22 million. Although that was a fraction of the $141 million loss it incurred a year earlier, with the economy opening back up and people going back to their regular habits, there may be less time to spend on Pinterest -- and a decline in MAUs. If that happens, the progress the company has been making on its bottom line could be stalled.
\n
Pinterest has been a hot stay-at-home stock, but now could become a risky buy given its hefty valuation; currently, the growth stock trades at more than 22 times its revenue -- the average holding in the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund trades at a multiple of less than 7.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Expensive Stocks I'd Sell Before the Next Market Crash
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Expensive Stocks I'd Sell Before the Next Market Crash\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-20 22:16 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The stock market has been soaring to new heights in recent weeks and months, even though the coronavirus persists in some places, the economy hasn't fully recovered, and stimulus payments are still ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"MRNA":"Moderna, Inc.","PINS":"Pinterest, Inc.","FUBO":"fuboTV Inc."},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/07/20/3-expensive-stocks-id-sell-before-the-next-market/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2152693458","content_text":"The stock market has been soaring to new heights in recent weeks and months, even though the coronavirus persists in some places, the economy hasn't fully recovered, and stimulus payments are still propping things up. The proof is in the fantastic performance she's achieved over the years. However, I also view some of the recent moves to sell certain stocks in the ARK ETFs as short-sighted. However, the social media stock still ranks in the top 10 holdings of the ETF.
\n
My Motley Fool colleague Danny Vena views Pinterest as one of the three top e-commerce stocks to buy right now. I agree with Danny's take on Pinterest (and his other two picks, for that matter).
\n
Some might be concerned that Pinterest's monthly average user growth rate is slipping a little. Not me. I think that's to be expected after the pandemic-fueled growth of 2020.
\n
I fully expect that Pinterest will continue to attract more users, including men (the company's customer base currently largely consists of women.) I also look for the company to boost its monetization in international markets as well as in the U.S. Pinterest could easily double its current market cap of $50 billion over the next few years, in my view.
\n
Sea Limited
\n
Two of Wood's ETFs have sold shares of Sea Limited (NYSE:SE) over the last few weeks -- the ARK Fintech Revolution ETF and the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (NYSEMKT:ARKW). Still, though, Sea remains the No. 3 holding in the fintech ETF and ranks No. 16 in the internet ETF.
\n
Sea stands as one of the fastest-growing large-cap stocks on the planet. Its business is expanding on all fronts -- digital entertainment, e-commerce, and digital payments.
\n
For now, Sea makes most of its money from its digital entertainment unit thanks to the super-popular Free Fire mobile game. It could have even greater growth opportunities over the long term, though, with its Shopee e-commerce platform.
\n
The company's name reflects an abbreviation for its primary market -- Southeast Asia. However, Sea continues to make solid inroads into the Latin American market. My prediction is that Sea will become a much bigger player in the region, making patient investors a lot of money in the process.
\n
Square
\n
Three of Wood's ETFs were scooping up shares of Square (NYSE:SQ) in May. That changed in June, though, with the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF selling over 73,500 shares of the fintech stock.
\n
Don't think that Wood has soured on Square's prospects. The stock remains the No. 1 holding in the ARK Fintech Revolution ETF and is the fourth-biggest position in the ARK Innovation ETF (NYSEMKT:ARKK).
\n
Sure, Square's valuation seems ridiculously high, with shares trading at close to 170 times expected earnings. However, disruptive companies almost always command steep valuations. And make no mistake about it: Square is a disruptor.
\n
The company already offers a wide array of services to businesses. Square is positioning itself to also become a full-fledged commercial bank.
\n
Perhaps Square's greatest opportunity, though, lies in the individual financial services market. The company's Cash App provides a convenient way for consumers to digitally transfer money and buy and sell stocks and Bitcoin.
\n
It's easy to see Square expanding Cash App to support personal loans and more features in the future. Let's you and I have a conversation at the event. You can share all your curiosities...\"\n\nMusk agreed. \"For the Bitcurious? Very well then, let's do it,\" he said, to which Dorsey later replied: \"Done! Will set up.\"\nThe event will take place on July 21, according to itswebsite, “offering a live experience and a library of content to the investor community, enabling a more informed discussion about the role Bitcoin can serve for institutions across the globe.”\nComments from Musk have taken bitcoin investors on a wild ride lately. The eccentric Tesla boss initially supported bitcoin, briefly adding the hashtag #bitcointo his Twitter bio in January.\nTesla then announced in February that it hadbought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoinand would start accepting it as a method of payment.\nAt the same time, Musk has made a number of tweets supporting dogecoin, which led to astunning— butshort-lived— rally for the joke cryptocurrency.\nMore recently, Musk appears to have rowed back on his views about bitcoin. Last month, he said Tesla wouldstop accepting bitcoin for car purchases, citingenvironmental concerns around the “insane” amount of energyrequired to mine the digital currency.\nHe also posted a meme suggesting he’sfallen out of lovewith bitcoin.\nBut earlier this month, Musk said that Tesla would accept the cryptocurrency when at least half of bitcoin mining is confirmed to be powered by clean energy.\nBitcoinfell below the key $30,000 mark on Tuesday, briefly erasing all its 2021 gains. The digital asset has since risen back above $33,000 but is still down almost 50% of its all-time high of nearly $65,000 which it reached in April.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":157,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":122874269,"gmtCreate":1624613985651,"gmtModify":1703841747031,"author":{"id":"3569874765024530","authorId":"3569874765024530","name":"standbyme","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cf19113e7ac397999e54c3b56ee9f086","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569874765024530","idStr":"3569874765024530"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Pinterest, Inc.(PINS)$[Cool] way to go !","listText":"$Pinterest, Inc.(PINS)$[Cool] way to go !","text":"$Pinterest, Inc.(PINS)$[Cool] way to go !","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8cacbc60ff340c08c4307c62f9e95905","width":"1125","height":"1949"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/122874269","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":207,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121713921,"gmtCreate":1624492284763,"gmtModify":1703838100688,"author":{"id":"3569874765024530","authorId":"3569874765024530","name":"standbyme","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cf19113e7ac397999e54c3b56ee9f086","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569874765024530","idStr":"3569874765024530"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Square(SQ)$show your power again ! The energy index, in turn, was off 3.5%, the biggest laggard among the 11 main S&P sectors.\nOther economically sensitive stocks, including materials and industrials, fell 2.2% and 1.6% respectively as data showed jobless claims rising last week for the first time in more than a month. Still, layoffs appeared to be easing amid a reopening economy and a shortage of people willing to work.\nVolume on U.S. exchanges was 11.77 billion shares, compared with the 10.67 billion average over the last 20 trading days.\nThe S&P 500 posted 23 new 52-week highs and 2 new lows; Not everything is extremely expensive, however. BYD Company (OTCPK:BYDDY) (OTCPK:BYDDF) is an under-followed Chinese EV maker that is active in a range of other businesses as well, and which has Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) (BRK.B) as one of its top shareholders. In this report, we will shine some light on this lesser-known EV play and outline why Buffett has chosen BYD over the likes of Tesla (TSLA), NIO (NIO), and other better-known EV companies.
\n
BYD: One Of The Top Players That Is Not Very Well Known
\n
In 2020, EV stocks around the globe have jumped upwards, delivering hefty returns for shareholders. This was likely driven by a combination of ultra-loose monetary policy, growing adoption of EVs, and the fact that there was a large wave of new investors joining the market, many of them young and interested in potentially \"disruptive\" technologies.
\n
Market capitalizations of the likes of Tesla, NIO, and many more soared as new capital was rushing into the sector:
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Market capitalization increases of hundreds of percentage points seem baffling for sure, and it seems quite questionable whether those are warranted by the companies' underlying growth. After all, Tesla didn't grow its sales by 400%+, nor did NIO grow its sales by 1,600%.
\n
Not all EV-related stocks felt the same love over the last year, however. BYD saw its shares rise as well, but not to the same degree as Tesla, NIO, and many others. This could, I believe, be due to the fact that the company isn't well-known among retail investors. Looking at the \"Followers\" the stock has here on Seeking Alpha, about 12,000, we see that the company is much less followed compared to the likes of NIO (173,000), XPeng (XPEV) (44,000), or even Nikola (NKLA) (53,000). BYD is, however, a larger and more successful company than these widely followed EV companies.
\n
BYD Seeks To Profit From The EV Trend Through Several Ways
\n
Companies such as NIO, Tesla, XPeng are mostly focused on developing and selling EVs, while BYD has a wider approach. The company is an EV OEM, but on top of that, BYD also has exposure to the space through other business units.
\n
Batteries
\n
First, BYD is a battery producer that does not only use the batteries it manufactures for its own EVs, but also sells batteries to other OEMs on top of that. This seems like an approach that could pay off in the long run. It is not yet known whether the current leaders in the EV space will remain the top performers for years or decades in terms of market share, but it seems pretty obvious that EV adoption, overall, will continue to grow. This means that more and more batteries are needed, which means that the battery manufacturing business BYD is active in should do well, whether the EV leader in 2030 is Tesla, Volkswagen, or any other company.
\n
Due to growth tailwinds for the battery industry as a whole, stemming from growing kWH per EV (to increase range) and from a rising number of overall EV sales, battery manufacturing is a business that should see strong growth for many years. On top of that, battery manufacturing is not only tied to personal EVs, but BYD can also supply its batteries to manufacturers of commercial vehicles - e.g., electricity-powered busses or trucks.
\n
Commercial Vehicles
\n
BYD is not only selling batteries to commercial vehicle producers, but is also designing and manufacturing its own products. BYD's portfolio includes electric busses, electric trucks, and electric vans. E-bus technologies look promising and have a range of tailwinds. Commercial electric vehicles don't get a lot of attention, but there is a lot of potential for disrupting that industry eventually. E-buses, for example, are a viable alternative to ICE-powered buses, as low average speed and travel range means that range considerations are not a major issue for the electricity-powered versions. On top of that, using EV technology instead of diesel-powered vehicles will lead to lower local emissions and can thus translate to cleaner air. Especially in huge cities where air pollution is a serious concern, such as in parts of China, growing e-bus adoption seems very likely. BYD also has developed and sells a monorail system calledSkyrail, which is being deployed in a wide range of countries, including Brazil, Egypt, and China.
\n
Passenger EVs
\n
BYD, of course, also sells its own passenger EVs that compete with the offerings of NIO, Tesla, etc. Unbeknownst to many, BYD is one of the top passenger EV manufacturers in the world. During the first quarter, the company sold 55,000 New Energy Vehicles, or NEVs, with 53,000 of those being plug-in EVs. If BYD were to keep that rate throughout the remainder of the year, they would sell 220,000 EVs in 2021, but due to the Chinese New Year in Q1 and planned production growth, that is likely a conservative estimate, and it seems reasonable to assume that BYD will actually sell more than 220,000 EVs this year.
\n
Nevertheless, even at that rate, BYD would be able to easily outsell the likes of NIO, XPeng, Li Auto (LI), LUCID (LUCIDM), Rivian (RIVN), and so on. Looking at the company's sales performance on a year-over-year basis, we see that BYD has grown its EV deliveries by about 150% between Q1 2020 and Q1 2021. The previous year's Q1 was impacted by pandemic-related lockdowns in China, but that also holds true for many other manufacturers. With a 150% growth rate in EV deliveries, BYD grew significantly faster than Tesla, which saw its volumes rise by a little above 100% year over year. This seems like a very reasonable comparison, as BYD's EVs are not at all cheap entry-level cars, unlike some of the offerings by other Chinese EV manufacturers. In fact, BYD's Tang and Han models can be described as premium cars that sell for similar prices as do Tesla's offerings. BYD is thus, with relatively comparable offerings, taking market share versus Tesla. For now, BYD mostly sells its cars in its home market China, but exports to foreign markets have started and will likely continue to climb going forward, as BYD seeks to expand its international operations and gain market share in Europe, for example.
\n
Growth At A More Reasonable Price
\n
BYD can't be described as inexpensive at all. Even though it is not as well-known as some of its peers, its shares still experienced strong gains over the last year, and in absolute terms, they look expensive.
\n
BYD, however, trades at a discount compared to most of the better-known EV stocks, thus one may argue that they are trading at amore reasonable price:
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
While peers such as NIO, Tesla, XPeng, and LI are trading for 10-25 times sales, BYD trades at 3.7 times its sales. This is, compared to legacy automakers such as Volkswagen (OTCPK:VWAGY), General Motors (GM), Ford (F), or Toyota (TM), still not a low valuation, though, as those mostly trade for 0.5-1 times sales. Still, compared to many of the EV pure-plays, BYD looks like an absolute bargain.
\n
That also holds true when we look at how its EV business alone could be valued if it were beloved by the market. Tesla, with annual deliveries of about 800,000 vehicles, is valued at roughly $700 billion, or about $900,000 per car they sell. BYD, with an EV sales run rate of about 220,000 vehicles and a relatively comparable model lineup, would see its passenger EV business be valued at about $200 billion at a similar multiple. Add in BYD's promising commercial EV business and its growing battery manufacturing business, and BYD could be valued at several hundred billion dollars. BYD is trading for around $70 billion, though, and thus way cheaper than what one would expect when looking at how its peers are valued. I want to note that I do not believe that BYD should be valued at $200+ billion. Instead, I want to point out that there is a clear disconnect between how the market values BYD compared to most other EV companies. This could also mean that BYD's peers are very overvalued and that BYD isnotundervalued.
\n
The reasons for this disconnect are likely two-fold. First, BYD's management is not doing a good job at promoting the stock and increasing name recognition, showcased by the fact that other, even way smaller EV companies have much higher follower counts. On top of that, BYD is not releasing 10-Q/Ks in the US, so it is hard to get information on the stock, and some investors may also avoid the stock as they fear potential governance issues. These are, however, issues that could be dealt with if management wants to. They could grow their IR team and make the company a better-known EV company, and I assume that they will do so over the years, although not necessarily in the very near term. Not everything is extremely expensive, however. In this report, we will shine some light on this lesser-known EV play and outline why Buffett has chosen BYD over the likes of Tesla (TSLA), NIO (NIO), and other better-known EV companies.\nBYD: One Of The Top Players That Is Not Very Well Known\nIn 2020, EV stocks around the globe have jumped upwards, delivering hefty returns for shareholders. This was likely driven by a combination of ultra-loose monetary policy, growing adoption of EVs, and the fact that there was a large wave of new investors joining the market, many of them young and interested in potentially \"disruptive\" technologies.\nMarket capitalizations of the likes of Tesla, NIO, and many more soared as new capital was rushing into the sector:\nData by YCharts\nMarket capitalization increases of hundreds of percentage points seem baffling for sure, and it seems quite questionable whether those are warranted by the companies' underlying growth. After all, Tesla didn't grow its sales by 400%+, nor did NIO grow its sales by 1,600%.\nNot all EV-related stocks felt the same love over the last year, however. BYD is, however, a larger and more successful company than these widely followed EV companies.\nBYD Seeks To Profit From The EV Trend Through Several Ways\nCompanies such as NIO, Tesla, XPeng are mostly focused on developing and selling EVs, while BYD has a wider approach. The company is an EV OEM, but on top of that, BYD also has exposure to the space through other business units.\nBatteries\nFirst, BYD is a battery producer that does not only use the batteries it manufactures for its own EVs, but also sells batteries to other OEMs on top of that. This seems like an approach that could pay off in the long run. It is not yet known whether the current leaders in the EV space will remain the top performers for years or decades in terms of market share, but it seems pretty obvious that EV adoption, overall, will continue to grow. This means that more and more batteries are needed, which means that the battery manufacturing business BYD is active in should do well, whether the EV leader in 2030 is Tesla, Volkswagen, or any other company.\nDue to growth tailwinds for the battery industry as a whole, stemming from growing kWH per EV (to increase range) and from a rising number of overall EV sales, battery manufacturing is a business that should see strong growth for many years. On top of that, battery manufacturing is not only tied to personal EVs, but BYD can also supply its batteries to manufacturers of commercial vehicles - e.g., electricity-powered busses or trucks.\nCommercial Vehicles\nBYD is not only selling batteries to commercial vehicle producers, but is also designing and manufacturing its own products. BYD also has developed and sells a monorail system calledSkyrail, which is being deployed in a wide range of countries, including Brazil, Egypt, and China.\nPassenger EVs\nBYD, of course, also sells its own passenger EVs that compete with the offerings of NIO, Tesla, etc. Unbeknownst to many, BYD is one of the top passenger EV manufacturers in the world. During the first quarter, the company sold 55,000 New Energy Vehicles, or NEVs, with 53,000 of those being plug-in EVs. If BYD were to keep that rate throughout the remainder of the year, they would sell 220,000 EVs in 2021, but due to the Chinese New Year in Q1 and planned production growth, that is likely a conservative estimate, and it seems reasonable to assume that BYD will actually sell more than 220,000 EVs this year.\nNevertheless, even at that rate, BYD would be able to easily outsell the likes of NIO, XPeng, Li Auto (LI), LUCID (LUCIDM), Rivian (RIVN), and so on. For now, BYD mostly sells its cars in its home market China, but exports to foreign markets have started and will likely continue to climb going forward, as BYD seeks to expand its international operations and gain market share in Europe, for example.\nGrowth At A More Reasonable Price\nBYD can't be described as inexpensive at all. Even though it is not as well-known as some of its peers, its shares still experienced strong gains over the last year, and in absolute terms, they look expensive.\nBYD, however, trades at a discount compared to most of the better-known EV stocks, thus one may argue that they are trading at amore reasonable price:\nData by YCharts\nWhile peers such as NIO, Tesla, XPeng, and LI are trading for 10-25 times sales, BYD trades at 3.7 times its sales. This is, compared to legacy automakers such as Volkswagen (OTCPK:VWAGY), General Motors (GM), Ford (F), or Toyota (TM), still not a low valuation, though, as those mostly trade for 0.5-1 times sales. Still, compared to many of the EV pure-plays, BYD looks like an absolute bargain.\nThat also holds true when we look at how its EV business alone could be valued if it were beloved by the market. This could also mean that BYD's peers are very overvalued and that BYD isnotundervalued.\nThe reasons for this disconnect are likely two-fold. After all, BYD has ambitious goals of becoming a global leader in EV technologies and growing its sales to $100+ billion over the next couple of years, and it would only be reasonable to then also upgrade investor communication.\nTakeaway\nBYD is a company that is encroaching on the high-growth EV industry through a multi-faceted strategy that includes personal EVs, commercial EVs, and battery manufacturing. This approach seems sensible and has the potential to be less volatile and cyclical compared to an approach of going all-in on personal EVs, where market share battles could lead to wide margin swings.\nBYD also trades at a relatively low valuation, at least compared to EV pureplay peers, although BYD still trades at a premium to legacy autos. Nevertheless, for value investors and valuation-conscious stock pickers, it seems like one of the best choices in the EV space. Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway holds a stake of more than 8% in BYD, which makes the EV play one of Buffett's top 10 holdings. Long-term Buffett backing always is a good sign, although investors should of course still do their due diligence and consider valuation before making an investment.\nBYD is not necessarily looking like a steal, but I believe that shares are looking way more reasonably valued compared to most of its peers. The consumer price index increased 5.4% from a year ago; economists surveyed by Dow Jones expected a 5% gain. And successful investor Cathie Wood sometimes makes the wrong call on a stock.
\n
I think Wood does a great job with her ARK Invest ETFs. The proof is in the fantastic performance she's achieved over the years. However, I also view some of the recent moves to sell certain stocks in the ARK ETFs as short-sighted. Here are three stocks Wood is selling that I believe could still make you rich over the long run.
\n
\n
Pinterest
\n
Wood's ARK Fintech Revolution ETF (NYSEMKT:ARKF) sold more than 320,000 shares of Pinterest (NYSE:PINS) in recent weeks.
It's also easy to envision this stock making investors much wealthier over the next decade and beyond.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Stocks Cathie Wood Is Selling That Could Still Make You Rich
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Stocks Cathie Wood Is Selling That Could Still Make You Rich\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-02 20:10 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
L.A. I agree with Danny's take on Pinterest (and his other two picks, for that matter).\nSome might be concerned that Pinterest's monthly average user growth rate is slipping a little. Not me. I think that's to be expected after the pandemic-fueled growth of 2020.\nI fully expect that Pinterest will continue to attract more users, including men (the company's customer base currently largely consists of women.) I also look for the company to boost its monetization in international markets as well as in the U.S. Pinterest could easily double its current market cap of $50 billion over the next few years, in my view.\nSea Limited\nTwo of Wood's ETFs have sold shares of Sea Limited (NYSE:SE) over the last few weeks -- the ARK Fintech Revolution ETF and the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (NYSEMKT:ARKW). Still, though, Sea remains the No. 3 holding in the fintech ETF and ranks No. 16 in the internet ETF.\nSea stands as one of the fastest-growing large-cap stocks on the planet. Its business is expanding on all fronts -- digital entertainment, e-commerce, and digital payments.\nFor now, Sea makes most of its money from its digital entertainment unit thanks to the super-popular Free Fire mobile game. It could have even greater growth opportunities over the long term, though, with its Shopee e-commerce platform.\nThe company's name reflects an abbreviation for its primary market -- Southeast Asia. However, Sea continues to make solid inroads into the Latin American market. My prediction is that Sea will become a much bigger player in the region, making patient investors a lot of money in the process.\nSquare\nThree of Wood's ETFs were scooping up shares of Square (NYSE:SQ) in May. That changed in June, though, with the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF selling over 73,500 shares of the fintech stock.\nDon't think that Wood has soured on Square's prospects. The stock remains the No. 1 holding in the ARK Fintech Revolution ETF and is the fourth-biggest position in the ARK Innovation ETF (NYSEMKT:ARKK).\nSure, Square's valuation seems ridiculously high, with shares trading at close to 170 times expected earnings. However, disruptive companies almost always command steep valuations. And make no mistake about it: Square is a disruptor.\nThe company already offers a wide array of services to businesses. Square is positioning itself to also become a full-fledged commercial bank.\nPerhaps Square's greatest opportunity, though, lies in the individual financial services market. The company's Cash App provides a convenient way for consumers to digitally transfer money and buy and sell stocks and Bitcoin.\nIt's easy to see Square expanding Cash App to support personal loans and more features in the future. It's also easy to envision this stock making investors much wealthier over the next decade and beyond.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":122,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":122465871,"gmtCreate":1624630519393,"gmtModify":1703842253189,"author":{"id":"3569874765024530","authorId":"3569874765024530","name":"standbyme","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cf19113e7ac397999e54c3b56ee9f086","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569874765024530","authorIdStr":"3569874765024530"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Biware [Tongue] ","listText":"Biware [Tongue] ","text":"Biware [Tongue]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/122465871","repostId":"1198438276","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":157,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":123976835,"gmtCreate":1624407753227,"gmtModify":1703835652535,"author":{"id":"3569874765024530","authorId":"3569874765024530","name":"standbyme","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cf19113e7ac397999e54c3b56ee9f086","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569874765024530","authorIdStr":"3569874765024530"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Have faith on its potential, Go Green!
