POINTS\n\nThe Federal Reserve’s June meeting is the big event for markets in the week ahead, though it is not expected to take any action.\nStocks meandered Friday, and traders see the potential for a sideways move early next week as investors await the outcome of the central bank’s meeting Wednesday afternoon.\nMarket pros are watching to see if the Fed tweaks its forecasts for interest rates or inflation.\n\nStocks could trade sideways as investors await the outcome of the Federal Reserve’s June meeting next Wednesday afternoon.\nThe Fed’s two-day meeting is the big event for markets in the week ahead. Although the central bank is not expected to take any action, it could make tweaks to its forecasts for interest rates and inflation that market pros say could be market moving.\nStocks meandered Friday and theS&P 500finished at a new high, garnering a 0.4% gain for the week.\n“Markets have to get past Wednesday before anyone makes huge bets,” said Scott Redler, chief strategic officer at T3Live.com. “It’s really that the Street’s looking at the next big obstacle — which is the Fed.”\nThe market is attuned to any discussion about the central bank’s bond-buying program. The program was initiated during the pandemic to provide liquidity to the markets and keep interest rates low. TheFed is widely expected to acknowledgeit will start tapering back on that so-called quantitative easing program later this year.\nOnce the central bank signals it will cut back on its $120 billion monthly bond purchases, it is basically signaling a major shift in its policy from easing to tightening. The Fed is expected to signal a taper well before it takes any action, and its own forecast for interest rates does not show any increases through 2023.\nFed Chairman Jerome Powell briefs journalists after the central bank issues its statement at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday. He is expected to sound dovish and assure markets the Fed’s policy will remain easy .\n“Let’s say for some reason Powell intimates tapering could happen late this year, not just talk about it but do it,” said Mike Schumacher, head of rate strategy at Wells Fargo. “That would spook the market, or if we get a big increase in inflation projections that would get the markets a little spooked.”\nEconomic calendar\nThere are a few economic reports worth watching, particularlyTuesday’s retail sales for Mayand theproducer price index— a look at producer level inflation.\nThe Federal Reserve will also release itsindustrial production index data, which measures production and capacity in manufacturing, mining and other industries, on Tuesday.\n“Essentially, I think nominal retail sales might be strong,” said Aneta Markowska, chief financial economist at Jefferies. “I just think the only thing that thing the market cares about right now is employment because that’s the only thing that can move the needle on the Fed.”\nThemarkets this past week shrugged off a super hot consumer inflation readingfor May, reported Thursday. Economists said the 5% jump in the consumer price index appears to be a temporary reaction to the reopening economy, supply chain disruptions and pent-up demand. But they also said it will take a few more reports to make sure it is not more persistent than the Fed currently expects.\nThe central bank has said it expects inflation to be high for a short period before falling back down, closer to 2%. The Fed will likely raise its forecast of2.2% for this year, given the jump in recent inflation readings.\nIt also predicts that core inflation, as measured by thepersonal consumption expenditures price index, will be at 2% in 2022 and 2.1% in 2023.\nWells Fargo’s Schumacher said he is closely watching that inflation forecast, particularly for 2023. According to the Fed’s interest rate forecast, that is also the first time a group of central bank officials see the potential for an increase in the fed funds target rate.\nSo if inflation is higher in their view, the outlook for interest rates could be as well. That could move forward the forecast for the first rate hike, now forecast by a majority of the Fed in 2024.\n“If that number goes up a tenth, that’s a non-event. If it goes up 0.3, it’s a lot in terms of the way the Fed looks at the world,” Schumacher said. The Fed has said it would tolerate inflation above its 2% target for a period of time before it acts.\nMarkowska of Jefferies doubts the Fed rate forecast will shift. The forecast is presented in a so-called “dot plot” with anonymous entries from central bank officials.\nShe noted in March, Federal Open Market Committee participants weresplit 11 to 7 against a 2023 hike, which means three officials would have to change their mind in order to move the median forecast.\n“My base case is it won’t move,” she said. “I just feel like there hasn’t been enough definitive change in the data to really change the Fed’s forecast. Having said that, you just need three people to change their mind. Even if that median forecast goes up, Powell is just going to downplay it during the press conference.”\nShe pointed to thedisappointing May employment report, which showed 559,000 jobs were added, 100,000 less than expected.\nWatch bonds\nStocks finished the past week mixed, with theDowdown 0.8% at 34,479, and theS&P 500eking out a gain of 0.4% to finish the week at a record 4,247. TheNasdaq, boosted by tech, gained nearly 1.9% to reach 14,069. Meanwhile the small-capRussell 2000outperformed the other indices, increasing by 2.2% for the week and landing at 2,335.\nREITs were the best performing major sector for the week, up 2%, followed by the health care sector’s 1.9% gain. Consumer discretionary stocks rose 1.6%. Tech climbed 1.4%, helped by a decline in interest rates.\nBut the financial sector lost 2.4% as interest rates fell, and it was the worst performing sector this week. Financials fell with other cyclicals, like materials, off 2% for the week and industrials off 1.7%.\nMeme stocks remained in the headlinesand continued to trade with a high level of volatility.GameStophit a high of $344.66 Tuesday and dropped as low as $206.13 Friday before closing at $233.34 per share.\nBesides the wild ride by meme stocks in the past week, the market to watch was Treasurys, as yields took a surprising slide. There was a fairly dramatic move in the rate of the benchmark10-year,watched most closely by investors, as it influences mortgages and other important lending rates.\nThe 10-year Treasury yield dipped under 1.43% on Friday. Yields move opposite price, so the move downward represented a buying surge.\n“I feel like this entire move in Treasurys is technical and has nothing to do with fundamentals,” said Jefferies’ Markowska. She said institutions are finding super low yields in Treasury bills and the overnight rates markets. “There’s just an excess of cash that is spilling out to the longer maturities,” she said. “People are still very short.”\nMarkowska said the weaker than expected May jobs report spurred buying that forced some short investors, who bet on higher yields, to cover those positions as rates fell.\nThe fall in the 10-year yield, which hit a high of 1.75% in late March, has been a positive for stocks. It also hasdrawn some stock investors to tech and growth sectors, which had fallen out of favor.\n“Most people in the market will tell you yields will rise significantly at some point. The question is when,” said Schumacher. Many forecasters expect the 10-year yield to reach 2% by the end of the year.\nFinally, investors will also be watching headlines from President Joe Biden’s trip to the U.K. and Europe, where he is attending the G-7 and a meeting with NATO allies. He willhold a summitwith Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday in Geneva.\nWeek ahead calendar\nTuesday\nThe Federal Open Market Committee begins two-day meeting\nEarnings:Oracle,La-Z-Boy, H&R Block\n8:30 a.m. Retail sales\n8:30 a.m. PPI\n9:15 a.m. Empire State manufacturing\n10:00 a.m. Industrial production\n10:00 a.m. Business inventories\n10:00 a.m. NAHB survey\n4:00 p.m. TIC data\nWednesday\nEarnings:Lennar,The Honest Company\n8:30 a.m. Housing starts\n8:30 a.m. Import prices\n8:30 a.m. Business leaders survey\n2:00 p.m. FOMC statement\n2:30 p.m. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell briefing\nThursday\nEarnings:Adobe,Kroger,Jabil,Commercial Metals, Smith and Wesson\n8:30 a.m. Initial jobless claims\n8:30 a.m. Philadelphia Fed manufacturing","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":157,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":186833024,"gmtCreate":1623483193768,"gmtModify":1704204890406,"author":{"id":"3571028559001901","authorId":"3571028559001901","name":"MatthewG","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/69bd9604f674a9e22772e720cfd08bfe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571028559001901","authorIdStr":"3571028559001901"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great","listText":"Great","text":"Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/186833024","repostId":"1102961449","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1102961449","pubTimestamp":1623469034,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1102961449?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-12 11:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Jim Cramer: Be patient with bitcoin, approach the S&P with caution","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1102961449","media":"cnbc","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nCNBC’s Jim Cramer reviewed chart analysis to gauge a bottom in bitcoin and peak in the S","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nCNBC’s Jim Cramer reviewed chart analysis to gauge a bottom in bitcoin and peak in the S&P 500.\n“The charts, as interpreted by Tom DeMark, suggest that Bitcoin might take another month to ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The methodology, which follows patterns to project when a trend could change course, is popular among crypto traders to spot highs and lows, Cramer said.\nCramer reviewed the daily chart action for bitcoin, which peaked at around $65,000 in mid-April. The digital coin is now trading above $37,300 as of Friday after falling to $30,000 in mid-May.\nDeMark, who said the drop in bitcoin resembles the crash of 1987, projected that the decline could bring the token’s value to a floor of $32,000 — or $24,000 in the worst case. He now thinks that bitcoin will generally hold above the May 19th low, Cramer said.\nIn what’s known as “Black Monday,” the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted more than 20% on Oct. 19, 1987. It was the bookend of a 36% decline in the blue-chip index from August that year.\n“If DeMark’s right, you could get a chance to buy bitcoin in the not-too-distant future, and I might take it,” Cramer said. “I think this ’87 analogy is good news. After the crash of ’87, the stock market bounced back fast.”\nAs for the S&P 500, which closed at a record for the second-straight day, DeMark’s indicator suggests the index could be close to a top, Cramer said. DeMark has price targets of $4,335 and $4,344, about 2% higher than Friday’s finish.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":309,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":191465079,"gmtCreate":1620900110491,"gmtModify":1704350121765,"author":{"id":"3571028559001901","authorId":"3571028559001901","name":"MatthewG","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/69bd9604f674a9e22772e720cfd08bfe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571028559001901","authorIdStr":"3571028559001901"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO)$Hold life ","listText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO)$Hold life ","text":"$NIO Inc.(NIO)$Hold life","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0e36a9cd8ebfa3f161c8976e9b7a1990","width":"828","height":"1590"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/191465079","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":411,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":324364537,"gmtCreate":1615966357029,"gmtModify":1704789018564,"author":{"id":"3571028559001901","authorId":"3571028559001901","name":"MatthewG","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/69bd9604f674a9e22772e720cfd08bfe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571028559001901","authorIdStr":"3571028559001901"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$MAPLETREE LOGISTICS TRUST(M44U.SI)$time to rise","listText":"$MAPLETREE LOGISTICS TRUST(M44U.SI)$time to rise","text":"$MAPLETREE LOGISTICS TRUST(M44U.SI)$time to rise","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/324364537","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":336,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":325356680,"gmtCreate":1615867771140,"gmtModify":1704787693266,"author":{"id":"3571028559001901","authorId":"3571028559001901","name":"MatthewG","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/69bd9604f674a9e22772e720cfd08bfe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571028559001901","authorIdStr":"3571028559001901"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hmmmmm","listText":"Hmmmmm","text":"Hmmmmm","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/325356680","repostId":"2119794512","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2119794512","pubTimestamp":1615866656,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2119794512?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-16 11:50","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Better Buy: Disney vs. Roku","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2119794512","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Mickey Mouse meets your streaming hub. Let's pick the better investment.","content":"
You can't take your family out to vacation at Rokuland. You won't see Roku (NASDAQ:ROKU) cranking out plush dolls, filling up cruise ships, or screening a promising blockbuster at a multiplex near you.
\n
Roku and Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) may not seem to have a lot in common, but they are both riding high as investments these days on the strength of their streaming businesses. Roku is a streaming pioneer, and between its fast-growing platform and its popular line of streaming devices it has all of its eggs in the digital basket. Disney is a more diversified media empire that was late to the streaming revolution, but it has more than made up for lost time. Disney+ is now generating 7% of its revenue, but Hulu commands a thicker 14% slice. Throw in ESPN+ and roughly a quarter of Disney's business is now coming from its direct-to-consumer digital platforms.
\n
Roku and Disney realize that streaming is the future of video entertainment. Which one is the better buy for your portfolio? I own both, but I don't mind choosing one over the other by the time we're done here. Let's size up Roku and Disney to see their near-term prospects to beat the market.
\n
\n
This is no Mickey Mouse operation
\n
Disney is a natural-born athlete when it comes to entertainment. It's at the top or gaining quickly on the market leader in nearly all of its business segments. It operates the world's most visited theme parks. In 2019 -- the last year that movie theaters were at full strength -- it put out all six of the country's highest-grossing films. Things are a little more contested on the media networks front, but when it comes to sports programming everyone else is a distant silver medalist to Disney's majority-owned ESPN.
\n
It's also a quick learner. It's been just 16 months since Disney+ was launched, and this month it announced that it has surpassed 100 million paying subscribers. The breakneck speed of the streaming platform's success is why Disney shares hit another all-time high last week, even when this fiscal athlete is not at the top of every game right now.
\n
Its theme parks are operating under a short leash in terms of allowed daily capacity, and that's with its original Disneyland in California still not open. It finally put out its first theatrical release in a year, but it's been holding back on most of its multiplex content until the movie theater industry claws its way out of the pandemic. Disney's four cruise ships have been out of service since March of last year. Today's shortcomings aren't deal breakers. Disney is still the top dog among media stocks, and all of its currently slumping segments should recover as we recover from the COVID-19 crisis. Disney is a tough stock to top when it comes to entertainment, but then we have Roku to consider.
\n
\n
Meet the Roku row crew
\n
If you're looking for a company that's succeeding financially right now, Disney may not fit the bill. It has posted three consecutive quarters of double-digit declines in revenue, and its profitability has taken an even bigger hit. Disney+ is generating plenty of buzz, but the House of Mouse doesn't expect the streaming platform to be cranking out profits until 2024.
\n
Roku doesn't offer the entertainment diversity of Disney, but it is killing it right now. The streaming pioneer fuels the TV streaming experience for 51.2 million accounts, 39% more than it was serving a year earlier. We're not just talking about folks choosing Roku devices to plug into their TVs to make them stream a growing number of third-party apps. A whopping 38% of all smart TVs sold now come with Roku built in as the operating system of choice.
\n
We're streaming a lot these days. The average Roku home spends 3.6 hours a day on the platform, and between the growth in users and the surge in ad revenue per user, Roku's platform revenue soared 81% in its latest quarter. The other end of the income statement is also starting to turn the corner with Roku posting back-to-back quarters of profitability.
\n
My own portfolio has made room for both Disney and Roku. They are two of my favorite media stocks. Disney is the blue chip here, and despite its recent struggles it will make sense as the choice for risk-averse investors. You won't see Roku (NASDAQ:ROKU) cranking out plush dolls, filling up cruise ships, or screening a promising blockbuster at a multiplex near you.\nRoku and Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) may not seem to have a lot in common, but they are both riding high as investments these days on the strength of their streaming businesses. Throw in ESPN+ and roughly a quarter of Disney's business is now coming from its direct-to-consumer digital platforms.\nRoku and Disney realize that streaming is the future of video entertainment. Which one is the better buy for your portfolio? I own both, but I don't mind choosing one over the other by the time we're done here. Let's size up Roku and Disney to see their near-term prospects to beat the market.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThis is no Mickey Mouse operation\nDisney is a natural-born athlete when it comes to entertainment. It's at the top or gaining quickly on the market leader in nearly all of its business segments. It operates the world's most visited theme parks. In 2019 -- the last year that movie theaters were at full strength -- it put out all six of the country's highest-grossing films. Things are a little more contested on the media networks front, but when it comes to sports programming everyone else is a distant silver medalist to Disney's majority-owned ESPN.\nIt's also a quick learner. It's been just 16 months since Disney+ was launched, and this month it announced that it has surpassed 100 million paying subscribers. The breakneck speed of the streaming platform's success is why Disney shares hit another all-time high last week, even when this fiscal athlete is not at the top of every game right now.\nIts theme parks are operating under a short leash in terms of allowed daily capacity, and that's with its original Disneyland in California still not open. Disney is a tough stock to top when it comes to entertainment, but then we have Roku to consider.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nMeet the Roku row crew\nIf you're looking for a company that's succeeding financially right now, Disney may not fit the bill. It has posted three consecutive quarters of double-digit declines in revenue, and its profitability has taken an even bigger hit. Disney+ is generating plenty of buzz, but the House of Mouse doesn't expect the streaming platform to be cranking out profits until 2024.\nRoku doesn't offer the entertainment diversity of Disney, but it is killing it right now. The streaming pioneer fuels the TV streaming experience for 51.2 million accounts, 39% more than it was serving a year earlier. We're not just talking about folks choosing Roku devices to plug into their TVs to make them stream a growing number of third-party apps. A whopping 38% of all smart TVs sold now come with Roku built in as the operating system of choice.\nWe're streaming a lot these days. The average Roku home spends 3.6 hours a day on the platform, and between the growth in users and the surge in ad revenue per user, Roku's platform revenue soared 81% in its latest quarter. The other end of the income statement is also starting to turn the corner with Roku posting back-to-back quarters of profitability.\nMy own portfolio has made room for both Disney and Roku. They are two of my favorite media stocks. Disney is the blue chip here, and despite its recent struggles it will make sense as the choice for risk-averse investors. However, I do have a larger position in Roku than Disney. I like where it is at this early stage of the streaming revolution, and it continues to excel as an all-weather play in this booming niche. Both should be able to continue beating the market from here, but Roku is the better buy right now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":209,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":367708292,"gmtCreate":1614964582516,"gmtModify":1704777759269,"author":{"id":"3571028559001901","authorId":"3571028559001901","name":"MatthewG","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/69bd9604f674a9e22772e720cfd08bfe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571028559001901","authorIdStr":"3571028559001901"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"??","listText":"??","text":"??","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/367708292","repostId":"1169596583","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1169596583","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"为用户提供金融资讯、行情、数据,旨在帮助投资者理解世界,做投资决策。","home_visible":1,"media_name":"老虎资讯综合","id":"102","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1614958557,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1169596583?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-05 Listing","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1174434046","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- Roblox Corp., the kid-focused gaming company that’s planning to go public this month,","content":"
(Bloomberg) -- Roblox Corp., the kid-focused gaming company that’s planning to go public this month, warned investors that the booming user growth it enjoyed during the pandemic is about to disappear.
\n
The total hours that users spend engaged with the gaming platform could drop by as much as 11% in the second quarter, Roblox said in a statement Tuesday. Though the number of daily active users is expected to grow 3% to 9%, that’s a fraction of the growth it’s been experiencing during Covid-19 lockdowns, which have kept many kids home from school.
\n
The outlook threatens to temper excitement for Roblox’s direct listing, which is slated for around March 10. The company has been a phenomenon during the pandemic, with kids -- particularly tweens -- using the platform to hold virtual birthday parties, graduations and other events. The company’s daily active users grew 85% in 2020. The amount of time those users spent engaged on the platform more than doubled.
\n
“We headed into 2020 with strong organic growth which was further bolstered by social distancing restrictions,” Chief Financial Officer Michael Guthrie said in the statement. “As those restrictions ease, we expect the rates of growth in 2021 will be well below the rates in 2020, however, we believe we will see absolute growth in most of our core metrics for the full year.”
\n
For all of 2021, daily active users are expected to climb as much as 12% to 36.4 million. Hours engaged will range between a drop of 3% and a gain of 3%. Though the number of daily active users is expected to grow 3% to 9%, that’s a fraction of the growth it’s been experiencing during Covid-19 lockdowns, which have kept many kids home from school.\nThe outlook threatens to temper excitement for Roblox’s direct listing, which is slated for around March 10. The company has been a phenomenon during the pandemic, with kids -- particularly tweens -- using the platform to hold virtual birthday parties, graduations and other events. The company’s daily active users grew 85% in 2020. The amount of time those users spent engaged on the platform more than doubled.\n“We headed into 2020 with strong organic growth which was further bolstered by social distancing restrictions,” Chief Financial Officer Michael Guthrie said in the statement. “As those restrictions ease, we expect the rates of growth in 2021 will be well below the rates in 2020, however, we believe we will see absolute growth in most of our core metrics for the full year.”\nFor all of 2021, daily active users are expected to climb as much as 12% to 36.4 million. Hours engaged will range between a drop of 3% and a gain of 3%. The company also expects one-time expenses of $51 million tied to its direct listing.\nRoblox hosts millions of games that are built by its users, who then get a share of any related revenue. Two thirds of all U.S. kids ages 9 to 12 use the platform, according to the company. It also said the only Apple stores remaining closed worldwide are about a dozen in France and Brazil.A number of U.S. stores had reopened starting last May , but many were forced to close again as the pandemic worsened and local restrictions were tightened. The reopened stores are seen as somewhat of a bellwether on local business conditions, and are an encouraging sign of an economic recovery as COVID-19 vaccines get distributed more widely and cases fall nationwide.Apple shares rose more than 5% on Monday, their best showing since a 6.4% gain on Oct. 12. Here's theOptions AIexpected move chart for Gamestop, with a nearly 30% move being priced into this Friday's close. And a roughly 80% move being priced for the next month. A month that includes an earnings event (unconfirmed):

Gamestop: Call Spreads vs Outright Calls

Using March 19th as an expiry we first looks at bullish spreads, and compare directly to outright calls. With a stock as volatile as Gamestop, calls can be expensive. Because of that, many traders resort to buying far out of the money calls. That demand for upside calls increases volatility in those calls, making them expensive relative to at-the-money calls – a phenomenon known as skew. However, for those that are bullish, this may create an opportunity to utilize spreads rather than buying an outright call. Let's see how.

Here we'll focus on one alternative – using debit spreads to lower the overall cost of a directional trade (while potentially improving the probability of profit of the trade itself by lowering the breakeven level). It does so by selling those relatively expensive out-the-money Calls to help finance the purchase of a nearer to at-the-money Call.

With Gamestop near $105, the March 19th 110/190 Debit Call Spread is roughly $15 and targets the bullish expected move for March 19th. The debit call spread would need the stock to be above $125 on March 19th to be profitable.

As a comparison, the GME March 19th 200 calls are trading $29. That's nearly twice the cost for a 200 call that needs the stock above $229 by March 19th… versus a call spread, that needs the stock above $125. Here's a side by side comparison of those two trades on the Options AI chart. First, the 200 call:

And next, the 145/200 debit call spread:

As you can see, not only is the call spread less expensive, the point at which is becomes profitable to the upside is much closer to where the stock is currently trading. (As indicated by the grey price of the breakeven.)

A note on probability of profit. The probability of profit displayed on these trades is based on the delta being assigned to the breakeven of the trade. The fact that a 200 call in a $105 stock is trading near 50 deltas shows just how distorting an effect Gamestop volatility is having on its options (hard to borrow, skew, retail demand for out-of-the-money calls).

Directional Butterflies vs Outright Puts

High volatility also affects bearish options trades. One of the counter-intuitive aspects of a high volatility stock like Gamestop is that its implied volatility can go up as the stock goes higher and down as the stock goes lower. This is the opposite of how we generally think about volatility. Therefore, buying outright puts carries a risk of collapsing volatility (and therefore collapsing premiums) as the stock goes lower. So, even though the stock is moving in the intended direction, as an option holder you may not be realizing the gains expected.

One way to counter high implied volatility in a stock, especially when having a bearish view, is to be a net seller of option premium. To sell to bullish option traders rather than join bearish option traders. Traditionally that might take the form of selling a Credit Call Spread. But in GME's case that means buying the (expensive) upper strike Call at a higher volatility than the Call that is closer to the money (as described above).

So, one option strategy that can be considered by traders is using a Butterfly. An option trade that is more typically associated with a neutral trading view, but here adapted to actually create a targeted (bearish) directional view.

Here, as an example, is a Butterfly with its center strikes focused at $80 in the stock, with a March 19th expiry:

This 130/80/30 butterfly has breakevens of 115 and 45, meaning the trade is profitable if the stock is between those two prices at March 19th expiry… with a max gain occurring if the stock is at or near $80. either","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1132659841","media":"CNN","summary":"New York (CNN Business)Inflation concerns have led to more volatility in thestockandbond marketsof l","content":"
New York (CNN Business)Inflation concerns have led to more volatility in thestockandbond marketsof late. That should be good news for gold, a tangible asset with a limited supply that often does well in times of inflation. Central banks can always print more money. Miners can't just magically create more gold.
\n
Butgoldhas recentlylost some of its lusterthanks to a new financial kid in town: bitcoin. Gold prices are down about 9% this year and are trading nearly 15% below theall-time highof more than $2,000 an ounceset last summer.Meanwhile, bitcoin has soared nearly 70% and is currently hovering just below $50,000 per coin — not far from therecord highit reached last month.Still, fans of gold think the yellow metal is due for a rebound — even if bitcoin continues to march higher as well. The tried and true inflation hedgeGold is a classic fear trade. Prices rallied last year on worries about coronavirus lockdowns crippling the global economy. But gold also does well when investors are worried about inflation — as they are now.
\n
Plus, the price volatility of bitcoin may make it less attractive than gold to many big institutions looking to protect their cash, despiterecent decisionsby the likes ofTesla(TSLA)andMicroStrategy(MSTR)tohold bitcoinon their balance sheets.
\n
\"Investors need a serious hedge against inflation, and bitcoin may not offer that,\" said Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior analyst with Swissquote, in a recent report. Some investors think inflation fears could run rampant again if the US Senate passes President Joe Biden's proposed $1.9 trillion stimulus package. There are questions about whether that much money is really needed now that there are multiple Covid-19 vaccines and more people are returning to work. The worry is that all the federal stimulus money will eventually cause the economy to overheat, leading to even higher inflation. That, in turn, could boost gold prices further.\"The reason that we see higher gold prices is also mainly because the US House passed the stimulus package. We have a real fear of higher inflation,\" Naeem Aslam, chief market analyst with AvaTrade said in a report, adding that more stimulus will \"only fuel the fire\" of inflation.Analysts at European asset manager Amundi are also concerned about a sudden spike in inflation due to higher interest rates as the US economy recovers. They argue that investors need to \"stay vigilant\" and get ahead of this inflation scenario and that buying gold is one way to do so.\"Gold could also provide support amid abundant liquidity in the current environment,\" the Amundi analysts wrote in a report.Analysts from UBS Global Wealth Management also said in a report Tuesday that the recent pullback in gold looked \"overdone\" and that —\"spikes in market uncertainties...could offer support in the short run.\"But bitcoin may be beating gold for good reasonStill, a gold rebound doesn't have to coincide with a bitcoin pullback. In fact, cryptocurrencies could continue be a good bet at a time when bond yields are expected to keep climbing.\"Gold is good for slightly higher inflation but not necessarily much higher real interest rates,\" said Brad Neuman, director of market strategy at Alger, in an interview with CNN Business.Neuman said that although inflation is often accompanied by rising rates, the problem is that rates can spike dramatically and hurt the returns on gold. That might be one of the reasons it has lagged bitcoin lately.
\n
As such, Neuman thinks bitcoin — as well as crypto-related companies such asPayPal(PYPL), which now allows users to trade and hold bitcoin on the platform — could be even better bets than gold.Bitcoin backers also point out that the cryptocurrency likely will remain popular with investors who view it as a store of value during times of inflation — justlike gold. The biggest reason bitcoin has surged this year probably has more to do with the fact that investors have come to recognize that the cryptocurrency is even more scarce than gold or other precious metals. There is a cap of just 21 million bitcoins built into its source code. And roughly 18.6 million are already in circulation.\"There is a finite number of coins. That should be good news for gold, a tangible asset with a limited supply that often does well in times of inflation. Central banks can always print more money. Miners can't just magically create more gold.\nButgoldhas recentlylost some of its lusterthanks to a new financial kid in town: bitcoin. But gold also does well when investors are worried about inflation — as they are now.\nPlus, the price volatility of bitcoin may make it less attractive than gold to many big institutions looking to protect their cash, despiterecent decisionsby the likes ofTesla(TSLA)andMicroStrategy(MSTR)tohold bitcoinon their balance sheets.\n\"Investors need a serious hedge against inflation, and bitcoin may not offer that,\" said Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior analyst with Swissquote, in a recent report. POINTS\n\nCNBC’s Jim Cramer reviewed chart analysis to gauge a bottom in bitcoin and peak in the S&P 500.\n“The charts, as interpreted by Tom DeMark, suggest that Bitcoin might take another month to bottom, while the S&P 500 could peak as soon as next week,” he said on “Mad Money.′\n“Considering Tom’s track record, that’s a good reason to be patient with bitcoin and approach the S&P with some caution,” he said.\n\nCNBC’s Jim Cramer is advising that investors who are searching for entry and exit points keep a close eye on both stock and cryptocurrency trades in the coming weeks.\nThe “Mad Money” host on Friday reviewed chart analysis from Tom DeMark, the founder and head of DeMark Analytics.\n“The charts, as interpreted by Tom DeMark, suggest thatbitcoinmight take another month to bottom, while the S&P 500 could peak as soon as next week,” he said. “Considering Tom’s track record, that’s a good reason to be patient with bitcoin and approach the S&P with some caution.”\nDeMark invented the DeMark Indicator, which some traders use to time the market. The methodology, which follows patterns to project when a trend could change course, is popular among crypto traders to spot highs and lows, Cramer said.\nCramer reviewed the daily chart action for bitcoin, which peaked at around $65,000 in mid-April. DeMark has price targets of $4,335 and $4,344, about 2% higher than Friday’s finish.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":309,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":362628407,"gmtCreate":1614631723909,"gmtModify":1704773266606,"author":{"id":"3571028559001901","authorId":"3571028559001901","name":"MatthewG","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/69bd9604f674a9e22772e720cfd08bfe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571028559001901","authorIdStr":"3571028559001901"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"CW the best","listText":"CW the best","text":"CW the best","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/362628407","repostId":"1118447670","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":55,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":362162069,"gmtCreate":1614608441351,"gmtModify":1704773002918,"author":{"id":"3571028559001901","authorId":"3571028559001901","name":"MatthewG","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/69bd9604f674a9e22772e720cfd08bfe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571028559001901","authorIdStr":"3571028559001901"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"GME MORNING ","listText":"GME MORNING ","text":"GME MORNING","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/362162069","repostId":"1184516667","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1184516667","pubTimestamp":1614602503,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1184516667?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-01 20:41","market":"us","language":"en","title":"GameStop and AMC Entertainment shares active again premarket","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1184516667","media":"Marketwatch","summary":"The group of \"meme\" stocks, led by videogame retailer GameStop Corp.that have been volatile in recen","content":"
The group of \"meme\" stocks, led by videogame retailer GameStop Corp.that have been volatile in recent weeks as investors on a Reddit subgroup have egged each other on, were active again in premarket trade Monday.

This 130/80/30 butterfly has breakevens of 115 and 45, meaning the trade is profitable if the stock is between those two prices at March 19th expiry… with a max gain occurring if the stock is at or near $80. It has the additional dynamic of being short premium, and if the stock stays within its range would see mark to market gains if implied volatility compressed.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":43,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
