On a sequential basis, the growth was 23%.
\n
BYDโs electric vehicle sales volume in July edged past the combined delivery numbers of the upcoming Chinese rivals Nio, Xpeng and Liโs combined sales by a whisker at 24,560 electric vehicles.
\n
Nio delivered 7,931 vehicles in July, while rival Xpeng delivered 8,040 vehicles and Li Auto reported 8,589 deliveries during the month.
\n
BYDโs new energy vehicles sales more than tripled to 50,492 vehicles in July from a year ago.
\n
In the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) category, which includes hybrids, BYD sales more than tripled to 50,492 vehicles in July, or a year-on-year jump of nearly 234.4%.
\n
In China, NEV is used to define plug-in electric vehicles eligible for public subsidies which also includes plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles besides the battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
\n
These could be cars, buses, trucks, or two-wheelers. BYDโs NEV portfolio consists of cars, buses, and trucks. The automakerโs battery-powered electric vehicle sales is the metric most-suited for like-to-like comparison with Chinese peers and alsoTeslaIncTSLA.
\n
Gas-powered Sales Drop: Interestingly, BYD's sales of oil-guzzling vehicles fell 57.5% to 6,918 vehicles in July. Pressure to immunize kids has been on the climb in the U.S., where a new school year has started just as the delta variant is fueling a surge in cases.
\n
In a trial with 2,268 participants, two shots of a 10 microgram dose -- one-third the adult shot -- produced antibody levels comparable to those seen in a trial of 16-to-25-year-olds who got the adult dose, the companies said, with similar side effects.
\n
Pfizer and BioNTech said they plan to submit the data as part of a near-term request for an emergency-use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and to share it with regulators in Europe as well.
\n
A clearance would mark an important new phase of the immunization campaign in the U.S., where the Pfizer vaccine already has full approval for people 16 and up and is authorized on an emergency basis for ages 12 to 15. And a pediatric clearance could arrive as millions of older Americans are receiving additional doses to bolster their initial shots.
\n
Pfizer shares pared losses early Monday, falling 1.1% as of 7:11 a.m. in premarket trading in New York. BioNTechโs U.S. shares fell 4.1%
\n
The FDA is expected to decide whether to allow a booster shot for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine within days. On Friday, an advisory panel unanimously backed a third dose for people 65 and over, as well as those at high risk of severe complications, after voting against Pfizerโs request to authorize boosters for everyone 16 and older.
\n
While the FDA often follows its advisers, it isnโt obliged to, and could still opt to support boosters for a bigger group. Only certain immunocomprised people are now officially permitted to get a third dose on an emergency basis.
\n
Initial data from other arms of the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric trial, testing the vaccine in children under 5, could come in the fourth quarter, the companies said.
\n
Bigger Trial
\n
The data on kids from 5 to 11 was from an initial tranche of patients in the trial. At the request of U.S. regulators, Pfizer and BioNTech have submitted a plan to add 2,250 more children between the ages of 5 and 11 to their pediatric studies, a Pfizer spokesman said in an email.
\n
In an interview with Bloomberg News this summer, top FDA vaccine official Peter Marks said he asked drugmakers to expand their pediatric trials three or four times in size โto try to have a larger safety datasetโ to increase confidence in the shots.
\n
Safety is a crucial metric for young kids, as they get infected frequently and help spread the virus, but are at lower risk of developing severe complications than older adults. Pressure to immunize kids has been on the climb in the U.S., where a new school year has started just as the delta variant is fueling a surge in cases.\nIn a trial with 2,268 participants, two shots of a 10 microgram dose -- one-third the adult shot -- produced antibody levels comparable to those seen in a trial of 16-to-25-year-olds who got the adult dose, the companies said, with similar side effects.\nPfizer and BioNTech said they plan to submit the data as part of a near-term request for an emergency-use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and to share it with regulators in Europe as well.\nA clearance would mark an important new phase of the immunization campaign in the U.S., where the Pfizer vaccine already has full approval for people 16 and up and is authorized on an emergency basis for ages 12 to 15. And a pediatric clearance could arrive as millions of older Americans are receiving additional doses to bolster their initial shots.\nPfizer shares pared losses early Monday, falling 1.1% as of 7:11 a.m. in premarket trading in New York. BioNTechโs U.S. shares fell 4.1%\nThe FDA is expected to decide whether to allow a booster shot for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine within days. On Friday, an advisory panel unanimously backed a third dose for people 65 and over, as well as those at high risk of severe complications, after voting against Pfizerโs request to authorize boosters for everyone 16 and older.\nWhile the FDA often follows its advisers, it isnโt obliged to, and could still opt to support boosters for a bigger group. Only certain immunocomprised people are now officially permitted to get a third dose on an emergency basis.\nInitial data from other arms of the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric trial, testing the vaccine in children under 5, could come in the fourth quarter, the companies said.\nBigger Trial\nThe data on kids from 5 to 11 was from an initial tranche of patients in the trial. At the request of U.S. regulators, Pfizer and BioNTech have submitted a plan to add 2,250 more children between the ages of 5 and 11 to their pediatric studies, a Pfizer spokesman said in an email.\nIn an interview with Bloomberg News this summer, top FDA vaccine official Peter Marks said he asked drugmakers to expand their pediatric trials three or four times in size โto try to have a larger safety datasetโ to increase confidence in the shots.\nSafety is a crucial metric for young kids, as they get infected frequently and help spread the virus, but are at lower risk of developing severe complications than older adults. In rare cases, the messenger RNA vaccines have been linked to heart inflammation and heart-lining inflammation, and the risk appears to be highest in younger males.\nThe companies didnโt give specific side effect numbers in the release. Pfizer and BioNTech also didnโt say whether kids who got the vaccine had lower rates of Covid illness compared with those who got a placebo, data that the trial planned to collect as a secondary goal.\nA spokesman for Pfizer said the trial is still ongoing and some data is still blinded. In the statement, the companies said they planned to submit the full data from the trial for publication in a scientific journal.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":201,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":882439945,"gmtCreate":1631713683787,"gmtModify":1676530615806,"author":{"id":"3572775695513464","authorId":"3572775695513464","name":"Sam87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572775695513464","authorIdStr":"3572775695513464"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/882439945","repostId":"2167593553","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2167593553","pubTimestamp":1631712543,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2167593553?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-09-15 21:29","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Top Stocks That Just Went On Sale","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2167593553","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Great deals are out there even with the market setting record highs.","content":"
Without fail, investors start getting anxious when the stock market hits all-time highs, like it is right now. In fact, high-quality businesses like Zoom Video Communications (NASDAQ:ZM), Wix.com (NASDAQ:WIX), and Roku (NASDAQ:ROKU) are all down sharply over the past few months. But the exclusive work-from-home trend doesn't look like it's sticking around. Rather, companies are adopting a hybrid model -- working both from home and in the office. According to a recent study from Accenture, 83% of workers approve of the hybrid model. And 63% of high-growth companies plan to permanently implement the hybrid model going forward.
\n
Here's why this is important for Zoom: Companies will still need a video-conferencing tool for the foreseeable future. It doesn't matter that companies might use Zoom less in coming years than they did during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The point is they'll likely continue subscribing to keep their hybrid workforces going.
\n
Recent financial results from Zoom seem to confirm this new reality. The company continues to grow its customer count even though the pandemic catalyst has faded into the rearview mirror. In fact, it finished the second quarter of its fiscal 2022 with 2,278 customers spending over $100,000 annually -- that's an increase of 14% just from the previous quarter. For perspective, this high-spend customer base now makes up 20% of total revenue.
\n
Zoom isn't going anywhere and has plenty of good growth ahead. Second, Wix users tend to spend more over time, as evidenced by its net revenue retention rate of 113% in Q2. Third, the company is actively preparing for much more growth by rapidly increasing its workforce 10% from last quarter and by building out its new $30 million headquarters.
\n
In my opinion, these three factors are indicative of strong business fundamentals. But the market has lost interest in Wix stock because of some near-term uncertainty regarding how the economy might react to new strains of the coronavirus. Second, Roku stock trades with a P/S ratio of around 20 -- a lofty valuation that's more than double where it traded just five years ago.
\n
To the former concern, consider how Roku could still be a major winner even if the competition encroaches on its turf. Here's why. Companies with low profit potential typically get cheaper valuations. But Roku's profit margin has consistently expanded over time as low-margin hardware revenue is superseded by its high-margin ad revenue. When the year started, shares initially surged more than 20%. But the stock has now given up all of those gains, with a year-to-date return of negative 1%. This means the stock has significantly underperformed the S&P 500's 18% gain this year.
\n
But one analyst thinks the stock could take off.
\n
\"We still really like this stock.\"
\n
In February,Piper Sandler analyst Alexander Pottermade a bold call, boosting his 12-month price target for thegrowth stockfrom $515 to $1,200. He said Tesla deliveries could increase from 500,000 vehicles in 2020 to nearly 900,000 this year. Of course, this projection was made before global supply shortages worsened. Nevertheless, Tesla is growing extremely rapidly. The company's second-quarter deliveries more than doubled compared to the year-ago quarter, rising to 201,304.
\n
Following Tesla's second-quarter earnings release late last month, the analyst reiterated this target, noting that the company looks poised to benefit from market share gains, the monetization of the company's Autopilot software, and \"underappreciated opportunities\" in Tesla's energy business, which includes revenue from battery energy storage and solar energy generation products.
\n
Further, Potter pointed to Tesla's strong second-quarter operating margin of 11%, which he expects will see incremental improvement from Tesla's recently launched Autopilot subscription.
\n
On Aug. 3, Potter once again reiterated an overweight rating on the stock and a $1,200 price target, saying \"We still really like this stock.\" He pointed to growing demand for battery electric vehicles overall.
\n
So what gives?
\n
If shares could truly rise to $1,200, why do so many investors seem to think the stock is worth so much less (based on the stock's price of just under $700 at the time of this writing). After all, if $1,200 was generally viewed by investors as a likely outcome for Tesla stock within the next 12 months, shares would be trading significantly higher today.
\n
The issue boils down to the stock's forward-looking valuation. With a price-to-earnings ratio of about 370 at the time of this writing, Tesla shares are largely priced for strong growth for years to come. Since the company's valuation is based largely on profits far into the future, slight variances in views for Tesla's future growth trajectory yield dramatically different assumptions about the stock's intrinsic value today.
\n
Investors, therefore, shouldn't be quick to buy Tesla stock just because one analyst has a high price target for shares. Still, Potter does notably have some good points about Tesla's strong business momentum. Even Tesla itself reiterated guidance for vehicle deliveries to grow more than 50% this year -- and that guidance was provided during a time that many companies around the world (including Tesla) are negatively impacted by supply chain shortages. Further, Tesla management noted in its second-quarter update that demand for its vehicles was at an all-time high going into Q3.
\n
While a $1,200 price target for Tesla stock would be difficult to justify, shares may be trading low enough for investors to start a small position in the stock.
\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tesla Stock: Headed to $1,200?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTesla Stock: Headed to $1,200?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-08-08 09:13 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Key Points\n\nTesla deliveries more than doubled year over year in Q2.\nRising demand for electric vehicles could benefit Tesla.\nInvestors should exercise caution when it comes to analysts' price targets...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"TSLA":"็นๆฏๆ"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/08/07/tesla-stock-headed-to-1200/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1159872041","content_text":"Key Points\n\nTesla deliveries more than doubled year over year in Q2.\nRising demand for electric vehicles could benefit Tesla.\nInvestors should exercise caution when it comes to analysts' price targets.\n\nIt's been a wild year forย Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA)stock. When the year started, shares initially surged more than 20%. But the stock has now given up all of those gains, with a year-to-date return of negative 1%. This means the stock has significantly underperformed theย S&P 500's 18% gain this year.\nBut one analyst thinks the stock could take off.\n\"We still really like this stock.\"\nIn February,Piper Sandlerย analyst Alexander Pottermade a bold call, boosting his 12-month price target for thegrowth stockfrom $515 to $1,200. He said Tesla deliveries could increase from 500,000 vehicles in 2020 to nearly 900,000 this year. Of course, this projection was made before global supply shortages worsened. Nevertheless, Tesla is growing extremely rapidly. The company's second-quarter deliveries more than doubled compared to the year-ago quarter, rising to 201,304.\nFollowing Tesla's second-quarter earnings release late last month, the analyst reiterated this target, noting that the company looks poised to benefit from market share gains, the monetization of the company's Autopilot software, and \"underappreciated opportunities\" in Tesla's energy business, which includes revenue from battery energy storage and solar energy generation products.\nFurther, Potter pointed to Tesla's strong second-quarter operating margin of 11%, which he expects will see incremental improvement from Tesla's recently launched Autopilot subscription.\nOn Aug. 3, Potter once again reiterated an overweight rating on the stock and a $1,200 price target, saying \"We still really like this stock.\" He pointed to growing demand for battery electric vehicles overall.\nSo what gives?\nIf shares could truly rise to $1,200, why do so many investors seem to think the stock is worth so much less (based on the stock's price of just under $700 at the time of this writing). The administration aims to approve a first proposal designed to create jobs, revamp U.S. infrastructure and fight climate change before it turns toward a second plan to improve education and expand paid leave and health-care coverage.\nThrough the plan announced Wednesday, the White House aims to show it can โrevitalize our national imagination and put millions of Americans to work right now,โ the administration official said.\nThe White House plans to fund the spending by raising the corporate tax rate to 28%. Republicans slashed the levy to 21% from 35% as part of their 2017 tax law.\nThe administration also aims to boost the global minimum tax for multinational corporations and ensure they pay at least 21%. The White House also aims to discourage firms from listing tax havens as their address and writing off expenses related to offshoring, among other reforms.\nBiden hopes the package will create manufacturing jobs and rescue failing American infrastructure as the country tries to emerge from the shadow of Covid-19. He and congressional Democrats also aim to combat climate change and start a transition to cleaner energy sources.\nThe president was set to announce his plans in Pittsburgh, a city where organized labor has a strong presence and the economy has undergone a shift from traditional manufacturing and mining to health care and technology. Biden, who has pledged to create union jobs as part of the infrastructure plan, launched his presidential campaign at a Pittsburgh union hall in 2019.\nWhile Democrats narrowly control both chambers of Congress, the party faces challenges in passing the infrastructure plan. The GOP broadly supports efforts to rebuild roads, bridges and airports and expand broadband access, but Republicans oppose tax hikes as part of the process.\nโWeโre hearing the next few months might bring a so-called infrastructure proposal that may actually be a Trojan horse for massive tax hikes and other job-killing left-wing policies,โ Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said earlier this month.\nBiden has said he hopes to win Republican support for an infrastructure bill. If Democrats cannot get 10 GOP senators on board, they will have to try to pass the bill through budget reconciliation, which would not require any Republicans to back the plan in a chamber split 50-50 by party.\nThey would also have to consider whether to package the physical infrastructure plans with other recovery policies including universal pre-K and expanded paid leave. Republicans likely would not back more spending to boost the social safety net, especially if Democrats move to hike taxes on the wealthy to fund programs.\nThe administration official did not say whether Biden would seek to pass the plan with bipartisan support.\nโWe will begin and will already have begun to do extensive outreach to our counterparts in Congress,โ the official said.\nAsked Monday about how the bill could pass, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Biden would โleave the mechanics of bill passing to [Senate Majority] Leader [Chuck] Schumer and other leaders in Congress.โ\nAs of now, Democrats will have two more shots at budget reconciliation before the 2022 midterms. Schumer, D-N.Y., hopes to convince the chamberโs parliamentarian to allow Democrats to use the process at least once more beyond those two opportunities, according to NBC News.\nThe party passed its $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package without a Republican vote.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":213,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":323454531,"gmtCreate":1615370089223,"gmtModify":1704781771787,"author":{"id":"3572775695513464","authorId":"3572775695513464","name":"Sam87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572775695513464","authorIdStr":"3572775695513464"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gd thanks","listText":"Gd thanks","text":"Gd thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/323454531","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":27,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":838116423,"gmtCreate":1629380667862,"gmtModify":1676530021944,"author":{"id":"3572775695513464","authorId":"3572775695513464","name":"Sam87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572775695513464","authorIdStr":"3572775695513464"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Follow","listText":"Follow","text":"Follow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/838116423","repostId":"1127010631","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1127010631","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1629380357,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1127010631?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-19 21:39","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Some China concepts stocks tumbled in morning trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1127010631","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"(Aug 19)ย Some China concepts stocks tumbled in morning trading.ย \nChinese technology stocks sold off,","content":"
(Aug 19) Some China concepts stocks tumbled in morning trading.
\n
Chinese technology stocks sold off, led by some of the countryโs Internet giants, after two government ministries said they were likely to impose additional regulations on the sector.
\n

\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Because 10 years later that populist rage can be found inside the stock market where retail traders have picked up the baton to wage a very different, and more efficacious, sit-in on Wall Street, within the digital realm.
\n
For almost two months, the 33,000-square foot Zuccotti Park became the epicenter of the post-financial crisis debate in America.
\n
The self-professed \"99%\" spent those weeks obstinately making their point that 1% of the world's population controlled outsize global wealth and that the U.S. financial system had become a catalyst and source for the ever-widening gap between the haves and havenots.
\n
When the New York Police Department cleared the final protesters from Zuccotti on Nov. 15, it informally put an end to \"Occupy Wall Street,\" but the hoses that scoured the black shiny pavement, aiming to wash away the grime, didn't quash the movement.
\n
It merely shifted it to digital realm, with protesters resurfacing in a new tech culture built on \"borrowing\" and sharing, the political careers of Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez among others, and the well-phrased, if not totally coherent, call to \"Democratize Wall Street.\"
\n
Just log onto Reddit to behold the new Zuccotti, where individual investors are educating each other on market structure and using meme stocks to send Wall Street a message that they believe the system is still rigged but they are going to do something about it this time.
\n
Arguably at the center of this Occupy 2.0, is heavily-shorted stocks like GameStop $(GME)$, AMC Entertainment $(AMC)$, Clover Health $(CLOV)$, BlackBerry (BB.T), and a litany of others that online communities have gravitated toward, as a new method of protest has taken shape in 2021, with the COVID pandemic still running in the background.
\n
Throngs of investors on social-media platforms like Reddit and Discord are educating each other on how they might be able to fight back against hedge funds, who have been blamed for shorting companies to near-death, leaving them as carrion for private-equity firms.
\n
Much like the protesters in Zuccotti 10 years ago, who carried signs with caricatures of Wall Street CEOs that they held in low esteem, today's Reddit retail traders use memes and effigies of unloved corporate executives as war banners in a new battle against the 1%.
\n
Some of the faces have changed. Instead of Goldman Sachs chief Lloyd Blankfein, Citadel's Ken Griffin is the primary recipient of social-media vitriol, making Twitter searches for \"Kenny G\" into an odd mix of alto saxophone and allegations of naked shorting.
\n
And like \"the People's Library\" that sprouted up in Zuccotti, a free depository of thousands of books under a tent gifted by punk rock priestess Patti Smith and designed to help the protesters educate themselves on the things they were railing against, Reddit boards have become the home for \"DD\": due diligence or deep-dive posts into financial topics and stock tips meant to help retail traders keep each other on the bleeding edge of their campaign to topple hedge-fund honchos.
\n
These posts, which range in quality and coherence in ways not too dissimilar to Wall Street analyst reports [but are often written with more prurient panache], have launched short squeezes on everything from Wendy's $(WEN)$ stock to the Uranium market.
\n
And like the protesters that constantly tried to push their borders beyond Zuccotti and into the offices of banks or across the Brooklyn Bridge, individual investors have already marched onto the options market. According to Robinhood's first quarterly report as a publicly traded company, options trading on the 0%-commission app had almost tripled in the first half of 2021 compared with the entirety of 2020.
\n
So, while the amount of individual investors fighting hedge funds appears to have shrunk from January, the ones that remain are getting more active, more educated, and gaining more attention from politicians and regulators as they do so, even getting SEC chairman Gary Gensler to declare this week that they have every right to use their own money to try to \"smash\" hedge funds.
\n
There is, however, one way in which the Occupy protesters of 2011 and the Reddit raiders of 2021 differ: the NYPD could move to clear Zuccotti Park in a day, but individual investors hellbent on pointing out structural flaws in the stock market are already inside the stock market, and they don't appear to be leaving soon.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Here were the main metrics from the print, compared to consensus estimates compiled by Bloomberg:
\n
\n

Initial unemployment claims, week ended August 7:375,000 vs. 375,000 expected and 385,000 during prior week

\n

Continuing claims, week ended July 31:2.866 million vs. 2.900 million expected and 2.930 million during prior week

\n
\n
New weekly jobless claims fell for a third straight period and came in below the psychologically important 400,000 level. Continuing claims were also expected to dip to a fresh pandemic-era low below 3 million, pacing back toward pre-virus levels.
\n
Economists have been expecting to see an improvement in the number of individuals returning to the labor force as more states roll off federal enhanced unemployment benefits. As of mid-summer, about two dozen states had decided to end these benefits ahead of their official September expiration date at the national level, in a move seen as incentivizing workers to return to jobs.
\n
As of July 17, just under 13 million individuals were still claiming unemployment benefits across all programs, including nearly 9.5 million claiming crisis-era Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation. The overall number of claimants was down by nearly 200,000 from the prior week.
\n
Other data on the labor market have also recently pointed to a more robust pick-up in activity.Last Friday's jobs report from the Labor Department showed a much better-than-expected 943,000 payrollswere created in July, marking a back-to-back month with job gains north of 900,000. The unemployment rate, labor force participation rates and length of the workweek each also improved.
\n
Additional reports have underscored the extent of the demand for workers in the recovering economy.
