Invest $16,250 Into This Ultra-High-Yield Stock Trio","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2212671969","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"These income powerhouses sport an average yield of 12.32%!","content":"

There is no shortage of investing strategies that can pay off handsomely on Wall Street. Whether you love chasing after the innovative capacity of growth stocks or prefer the simplicity of value stocks, either strategy can work wonders over the long run.

But when it comes to wealth building, few investing strategies have been more consistent than buying dividend stocks.

Although it's a report I reference often, J.P. Morgan Asset Management's comparison of the performance of dividend-paying stocks to those not paying a dividend over multiple decades speaks wonders. J.P. Morgan Asset Management, a division of money-center bank JPMorgan Chase, found that dividend-paying companies returned an annual average of 9.5% between 1972 and 2012. By comparison, the companies not paying a dividend crawled to an annualized return of 1.6% over the same period.

Over time, we should expect dividend stocks to outperform. Companies that parse out a dividend on a regular basis are often profitable, time-tested, and have transparent long-term outlooks. These are typically companies that won't keep investors awake at night with worry.

Ideally, income seekers want the highest dividend yield possible with the least amount of risk. However, risk and yield tend to correlate once yields hit 4% or above. In other words, high-yielding stocks can be yield traps -- i.e., companies with enticingly high yields where the underlying business model is struggling or broken.

The good news is that not all high-yielding stocks are bad news. The following three ultra-high-yielding stocks, which are averaging (yes, averaging) a 12.32% dividend yield, can generate $2,000 in annual dividend income with an initial investment of only $16,250 (split evenly, three ways).

Annaly Capital Management: 12.12% yield

Mortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) Annaly Capital Management (NYSE:NLY) is no stranger to ultra-high-yield dividend stock lists. It's perhaps the most-trusted ultra-high-yield stock, with an average yield of around 10% over the past two decades. The company has also doled out more than $20 billion in dividend income since its inception in 1997.

Mortgage REITs like Annaly have a relatively straightforward operating model, even if the securities they own can be somewhat complex. Annaly is looking to borrow money at the lowest short-term rate possible, and use this capital to purchase higher-yielding long-term assets, like mortgage-backed securities (MBSs). The wider the gap between the average yield on MBSs and the average borrowing rate (this difference is known as the net interest margin), the more money mortgage REITs like Annaly can make.

As you might imagine, the mortgage REIT operating model tends to be interest-rate sensitive, with lower rates often providing the best environment for companies like Annaly to thrive. Over the past couple of months, the interest rate yield curve has flattened a bit, with the 2-year and 10-year yields on U.S. Treasury bonds narrowing. Since the 10-year Treasury bond is a good predictor for where mortgage rates head next, this tightening has resulted in a shrinking book value for Annaly.

But if you pan out beyond just the next couple of quarters, there's a lot to be excited about. If the Federal Reserve does raise lending rates, as expected, it'll also lift the yields on the MBSs Annaly is purchasing. Over time, this will widen the company's net interest margin.

What's more, the interest rate yield curve spends a disproportionately longer period of time in steepening than it does flattening. That's because the U.S. economy spends years expanding, compared to a couple of months or a few quarters in recession. In short, patience should pay off handsomely for Annaly's shareholders.

Icahn Enterprises: 14.44% yield

Another high-yielding dividend stock that can deliver an enormous amount of income from a relatively small investment is diversified holding company Icahn Enterprises (NASDAQ:IEP). This master limited partnership has paid a quarterly distribution for nearly 17 consecutive years and is currently yielding north of 14%!

There are two key reasons Icahn Enterprises is a smart buy for patient, income-seeking investors (aside from its insanely high yield). First, you get the leadership of Carl Icahn, who's the founder of the company and the chairman of the board of directors. Icahn is arguably one of the best-known activist investors on Wall Street. Activist investors usually buy up a single-digit-percentage stake in a company with the goal of gaining board seats or effecting change(s) to increase shareholder value. Sometimes this means pushing for the sale of noncore assets, introducing a capital return program, or perhaps putting an entire company up for sale.

The beauty of the activist-investor approach is that it usually benefits shareholders. While no activist investor has a perfect track record of success, Icahn has shown that he can help create value in virtually any economic environment. That's been demonstrated by Icahn Enterprises' 66 consecutive quarterly distributions.

The second reason this ultra-high-yield stock can be a foundation for income seekers is the cyclical ties of its core holdings. The company has more than a half-dozen different industries represented by its operating segments. But a large percentage of this representation is tied to the energy and automotive industries. As noted, even though recessions are inevitable, periods of expansion last considerably longer. This suggests the natural expansion of the U.S. and global economy over time will allow the value of Icahn Enterprises' cyclical holdings to increase.

AGNC Investment Corp.: 10.4% yield

The third ultra-high-yield dividend stock that can pad investors' pocketbooks is AGNC Investment Corp. (NASDAQ:AGNC). It has averaged a double-digit yield in 12 of the past 13 years, making it one of the most consistently high-yielding companies of the past decade.

AGNC is another mortgage REIT that investors can trust. It has the same basic operating model as Annaly Capital Management, with a unique aspect or two that income seekers should be aware of.

For instance, AGNC has been parsing out its dividend on a monthly basis since October 2014. Most dividend stocks and mortgage REITs, including Annaly, pay their dividends once a quarter. If you prefer the adrenaline rush of nabbing a payout from your holdings on a monthly basis, buying AGNC is the smart way to go.

Something else to note about AGNC Investment is the company's penchant for buying agency securities. An agency asset is backed by the federal government in the event of default. As of the end of 2021, $79.7 billion of AGNC's $82 billion investment portfolio was agency securities. This is an even higher percentage of agency securities, relative to total portfolio holdings, than Annaly has. Whether you love chasing after the innovative capacity of growth stocks or prefer the simplicity of value stocks, either strategy can work wonders over the long run.But when it comes to wealth building, few investing strategies have been more consistent than buying dividend stocks.Although it's a report I reference often, J.P. By comparison, the companies not paying a dividend crawled to an annualized return of 1.6% over the same period.Over time, we should expect dividend stocks to outperform. Companies that parse out a dividend on a regular basis are often profitable, time-tested, and have transparent long-term outlooks. These are typically companies that won't keep investors awake at night with worry.Ideally, income seekers want the highest dividend yield possible with the least amount of risk. However, risk and yield tend to correlate once yields hit 4% or above. In other words, high-yielding stocks can be yield traps -- i.e., companies with enticingly high yields where the underlying business model is struggling or broken. The good news is that not all high-yielding stocks are bad news. The following three ultra-high-yielding stocks, which are averaging (yes, averaging) a 12.32% dividend yield, can generate $2,000 in annual dividend income with an initial investment of only $16,250 (split evenly, three ways).Annaly Capital Management: 12.12% yieldMortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) Annaly Capital Management (NYSE:NLY) is no stranger to ultra-high-yield dividend stock lists. It's perhaps the most-trusted ultra-high-yield stock, with an average yield of around 10% over the past two decades. The company has also doled out more than $20 billion in dividend income since its inception in 1997.Mortgage REITs like Annaly have a relatively straightforward operating model, even if the securities they own can be somewhat complex. Annaly is looking to borrow money at the lowest short-term rate possible, and use this capital to purchase higher-yielding long-term assets, like mortgage-backed securities (MBSs). The wider the gap between the average yield on MBSs and the average borrowing rate (this difference is known as the net interest margin), the more money mortgage REITs like Annaly can make.As you might imagine, the mortgage REIT operating model tends to be interest-rate sensitive, with lower rates often providing the best environment for companies like Annaly to thrive. In short, patience should pay off handsomely for Annaly's shareholders.Icahn Enterprises: 14.44% yieldAnother high-yielding dividend stock that can deliver an enormous amount of income from a relatively small investment is diversified holding company Icahn Enterprises (NASDAQ:IEP). This master limited partnership has paid a quarterly distribution for nearly 17 consecutive years and is currently yielding north of 14%!There are two key reasons Icahn Enterprises is a smart buy for patient, income-seeking investors (aside from its insanely high yield). This suggests the natural expansion of the U.S. and global economy over time will allow the value of Icahn Enterprises' cyclical holdings to increase.AGNC Investment Corp.: 10.4% yieldThe third ultra-high-yield dividend stock that can pad investors' pocketbooks is AGNC Investment Corp. (NASDAQ:AGNC). It has averaged a double-digit yield in 12 of the past 13 years, making it one of the most consistently high-yielding companies of the past decade.AGNC is another mortgage REIT that investors can trust. It has the same basic operating model as Annaly Capital Management, with a unique aspect or two that income seekers should be aware of.For instance, AGNC has been parsing out its dividend on a monthly basis since October 2014. Most dividend stocks and mortgage REITs, including Annaly, pay their dividends once a quarter. If you prefer the adrenaline rush of nabbing a payout from your holdings on a monthly basis, buying AGNC is the smart way to go.Something else to note about AGNC Investment is the company's penchant for buying agency securities. An agency asset is backed by the federal government in the event of default. As of the end of 2021, $79.7 billion of AGNC's $82 billion investment portfolio was agency securities. This is an even higher percentage of agency securities, relative to total portfolio holdings, than Annaly has. Though this added protection does lower the yields AGNC nets from the MBSs it purchases, it also allows the company to deploy leverage to boost its profit potential. The transparency of the mortgage REIT industry also allows income investors to make smart decisions. The stocks in this industry tend to trade very close to their respective book values. With AGNC's shares changing hands for just 88% of their book value at the time of this writing, it makes for not only an excellent income stock, but a fantastic bounce-back candidate from a share price perspective.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":443,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097009330,"gmtCreate":1645248087154,"gmtModify":1676534013351,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"👍🏻","listText":"👍🏻","text":"👍🏻","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097009330","repostId":"1111287804","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1111287804","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1645240974,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1111287804?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-19 11:22","market":"us","language":"en","title":"What Warren Buffett Can Do to Ensure a Brighter Future for Berkshire Hathaway","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1111287804","media":"Barrons","summary":"It may be time for some changes at Berkshire Hathaway as CEO Warren Buffett starts to look ahead to ","content":"

It may be time for some changes at Berkshire Hathaway as CEO Warren Buffett starts to look ahead to his 92nd birthday later this year.

Berkshire investors are now awaiting Buffett’s annual shareholder letter, expected on Feb. 26, for insights into the company, financial markets, and American business. POINTS\n\nWhile the tech giants are yet to start selling their own cars, reports suggest they could soon launch products that combine hardware and software as the electric vehicle race heats up.\nShares of Daimler have skyrocketed over the last 12 months, up more than 173% year-on-year to trade at 75 euros ($89) per share on Thursday.\nHowever, Daimler’s market cap has crashed to just 80 billion euros today from around 185 billion euros in 1998. Meanwhile, Tesla’s market cap has soared to $694 billion.\n\nLONDON — The chief executive of Germany’s Daimler believes the automaker will face stiff opposition from tech giants like Google,Apple and Alibaba if they decide to launch their own electric vehicles.\nWhile the tech giants are yet to start selling their own cars, reports suggest they could soon launch products that combine hardware and software as the electric vehicle race heats up.\n“There will be intense competition,” Daimler CEO Ola Kallenius told CNBC’s Annette Weisbach on Thursday when asked if he was concerned about digital companies entering the electric vehicles market.\n“When an industry goes through transformation, I think it’s natural that new players look at the industry,” he said.\nKallenius said Daimler will “look at what the brand stands for and take that into the next technological era,” adding that the company will be able to build on its position if it does that well.\nHis comments come as Mercedes Benz, which is owned by Daimler, launches an electric version of its flagship S-Class luxury sedan.\n“It’s kind of the start of a new era,” Kallenius said, before adding that there’s a lot of “curiosity” surrounding the new vehicle.\nPricing for the luxury sedan will be announced in the summer but Kallenius said Daimler expects to make money on the vehicle from the moment it goes on sale.\nHe added that the variable costs are higher on vehicles with a large electric battery than they are on vehicles with a traditional internal combustion engine.\n“Our task during this decade of transformation is on the one hand to drive the variable costs down and restore in all our segments a margin parity,” Kallenius said.\nElectric vehicle technology is “still in its infancy” and there’s a “lot of work to do,” he continued. “It will be scaled and we will have technological developments. I’m optimistic that we will be able to restore the margins that we have been used to.”\nDaimler vs. Tesla\nShares of Daimler have skyrocketed over the last 12 months, up more than 173% year-on-year to trade at 75 euros ($89) per share on Thursday.\n“We have positive momentum in our stock,” Kallenius said, adding that it’s down to improved financial performance and the company’s “technology strategy for the future.”\nHowever, Daimler’s market cap has crashed to just 80 billion euros today from around 185 billion euros in 1998. Meanwhile, Tesla’s market cap has soared to $694 billion.\n“If we look at the total market caps of every single auto player in the world right now, you end up with an impressive number,” Kallenius said.\nHe added: “We need to make sure that the distribution of that total market cap moves more in our favor. That’s what we’re working on.”\nLike other car manufacturers, Daimler’s business has been negatively affected by the global chip shortage.\n“We can sell more than we can produce at this moment,” Kallenius","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":208,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097202552,"gmtCreate":1645459390643,"gmtModify":1676534029831,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"👍🏻","listText":"👍🏻","text":"👍🏻","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097202552","repostId":"2212671969","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2212671969","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1645452001,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2212671969?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-21 22:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Want $2,000 in Annual Dividend Income?

With AGNC's shares changing hands for just 88% of their book value at the time of this writing, it makes for not only an excellent income stock, but a fantastic bounce-back candidate from a share price perspective.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Want $2,000 in Annual Dividend Income? With AGNC's shares changing hands for just 88% of their book value at the time of this writing, it makes for not only an excellent income stock, but a fantastic bounce-back candidate from a share price perspective.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":443,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":377062937,"gmtCreate":1619485072229,"gmtModify":1704724672606,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Square(SQ)$Lunch ?","listText":"$Square(SQ)$Lunch ?","text":"$Square(SQ)$Lunch ?","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/905acdd6a4c36c9f91e01d95bf817c2f","width":"1242","height":"2151"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/377062937","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":281,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":372168655,"gmtCreate":1619186547177,"gmtModify":1704720980106,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Okkk... finally sold after holding it for such a long time due to crazy volatility ","listText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Okkk... finally sold after holding it for such a long time due to crazy volatility ","text":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Okkk... finally sold after holding it for such a long time due to crazy volatility","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/912057e7c32e5dca0b9c696a38e9908d","width":"1242","height":"2151"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/372168655","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":263,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":195226856,"gmtCreate":1621298308975,"gmtModify":1704355291536,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$so much attention these few days..","listText":"$Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$so much attention these few days..","text":"$Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$so much attention these few days..","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f49108d98dda63c084f960d9b7a5d014","width":"1242","height":"2151"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/195226856","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":471,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":348299969,"gmtCreate":1617930247251,"gmtModify":1704704915904,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$Finally broke-even after the tech sell down! far from it. A month of underperformance hardly meets the criteria for a loss of dominance. Further, the weakness of tech and growth stocks has started to reverse of late, clawing back about half of that initial underperformance.\nWith stocks likeApple,Facebook, andAmazontrading down to their 200-day moving averages, what's next? Is tech ready to make a comeback, or is this just a pause along the road of further underperformance? I believe it is the latter.\nThis isn't your grandfather's momentum\nIn recent years, technology stocks have been synonymous with momentum. Today, tech accounts for nearly 35% of the widely trackediShares Momentum ETF (MTUM). This is about to change.\nMTUM will rebalance during the last week of May, and the weighting to technology will likely be cut in half. Estimates forecast thatfinancials, consumer discretionary, andindustrialswill carry the largest weights, and with that, additional flows will likely be attracted to those sectors.\nThis simple reconstitution is yet another catalyst for further underperformance from technology. Those that want exposure to momentum, whether through a passive ETF or an actively managed strategy, will by rule be owning less tech and more value. In fact, given tech's heavy weighting in most indexes, every 1% rotation out of \"growth & defensive\" sectors is nearly a 3% increase into \"cyclical\" sectors.\nValuation difference: hardly a dent\nAlthough the tech sector’s underperformance in 2021 has been noteworthy, it hasn’t made a dent in the historically wide valuation difference between growth and value stocks.\nLet’s not forget that over the past 10-years, growth has outperformed value by an average of 7%per year. I think many investors still haven’t come to terms with the idea that value can outperform for an extended period.\nAs I wrote in February, “The problem is that current prices [for growth stocks] necessitate a level of future growth that will be very difficult to realize”. I still believe this to be the case. For example,Zoomis down 43% from its all-time high, but the stock still trades at 84x next year’s earnings.Teslais similar, down 23% from its high, but still trades at 145x forward earnings.\nValue’s outperformance this year has only driven the price-to-earnings premium in the tech-heavy growth index back to 2-standard deviations above normal. We have a long way to go before the valuation gap normalizes.\nInterest rates: a (short-lived) opportunity for tech\nInterest rate movements have been the primary driver of relative performance between growth and value.\nDays when interest rates are rising, growth and technology struggle relative to value and cyclicals. I believe it is likely that interest rates drift sideways to lower in the coming weeks, allowing oversold conditions in certain tech names to adjust.\nFirst, the interest rate differential between treasuries and many international government bonds is starting to attract foreign buyers to U.S. debt. European and Japanese buyers can earn an additional 1.2% by purchasing 10-year U.S. government debt versus 10-year bunds or JGBs, even after adjustments for currency risk.\nThis increased demand may serve to compress U.S. rates for a period. Additionally, sentiment has become extreme regarding U.S. treasury bonds — usually a good contra indicator. The percentage of bearish bond investors (betting rates will rise) is in the 90thpercentile, and the 6-month rate of change in the 10-year yield is in the 97thpercentile.\nA normalization of sentiment would be another headwind to rising rates in the near term. With several large tech names at technical support, and investment flows into technology (as measured by XLK) weak, we could be due for a near-term reversal in performance leadership as the momentum higher in interest rates wanes.\nHowever, it’s unlikely to last. As foreign economies begin to ramp up vaccination efforts and their economies more fully reopen, their interest rates should rise as those bond markets anticipate higher growth and inflation.\nThe interest rate gap should narrow, making U.S. debt relatively less attractive to foreign buyers – less demand, lower prices, higher rates for treasuries. Further, the Federal Reserve has yet to push back against rising long-term interest rates, and the10-year yielddoesn’t hit technical resistance until to the 2.0% to 2.25% range.\nTaken together, U.S. rates should resume higher as we move into the second half of the year, creating a persistent headwind for tech’s relative performance.\nIt’s not all bad\nIt is important to keep in mind that this is relative performance story … not one of technology crashing and burning. The stock market today remains remarkably broad, with 96% of the stocks in the S&P 500 above their 200-day moving averages. The last time we saw a reading this high was late-2009. And even thoughtechnologyhas lagged, 90% of tech stocks are in an uptrend.\nWe know from history that rates and stocks can rise together. Even rates and technology stocks can rise together (see 2013 as an example). However, in the game of relative investment performance, my view remains that tech continues to fall behind.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":142,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":341613691,"gmtCreate":1617807572713,"gmtModify":1704703453543,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Back to $145 AAPL! ?","listText":"Back to $145 AAPL! ?","text":"Back to $145 AAPL! ?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/341613691","repostId":"1143956197","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1143956197","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1617804758,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1143956197?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-07 22:12","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Apple and Microsoft Are Top Tech to Watch as Earnings Begin","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1143956197","media":"TheStreet","summary":"Apple, Microsoft and Nuance are the top three tech companies to watch as first-quarter earnings seas","content":"
Apple, Microsoft and Nuance are the top three tech companies to watch as first-quarter earnings season begins, say analysts at Wedbush.
\n
Apple, Microsoft and Nuance Communications are the top three tech companies to watch as first-quarter earnings begin rolling out, with the trio poised to show better-than-expected earnings, sales and fundamentals thanks to their rising the fourth industrial revolution.
\n
In a research note to clients on Wednesday, Wedbush Securities analysts Dan Ives and Strecker Backe said that while valuations will continue to be an emotional bull/bear debate, “… the fundamental growth on the horizon for these next-generation technologies is unprecedented as this fourth Industrial Revolution begins to take hold across the tech landscape.
\n
“We believe first-quarter earnings over the next month will be a major positive catalyst for tech names as our checks continue to show robust fundamentals/deal activity across the board,” the analysts wrote, adding that a 25% to 30% upward move for tech stocks is potentially in the cards through the remainder of the year, despite lingering rotation fears.
\n
For Apple, Ives sees the“Supercycle” thesis playing out in both the March and June quarters, with the Cupertino, Calif. giant selling north of 240 million iPhones - well above current forecasts of 220 million for full-year 2021 and besting its previous record of 231 million units sold in 2015.
\n
Microsoft also is poised to be a long-term winner, based on Ives’ team’s field checks, with the Redmond, Wash.-based software giant making progress in the cloud arms race with growth of Azure, a move that they say will continue to narrow the gap between Microsoft and Amazon in the web-services world.
\n
Healthcare cloud giant Nuance, meantime, is another Wedbush favorite as the company continues to be laser-focused on building a global cloud healthcare and AI-driven business as more hospital-wide deployments shift to the cloud, especially as the focus on cloud, security, and sharing healthcare data becomes front and center.
\n
Ives and his team have outperform ratings on all three companies.
\n
At last check, shares of Apple were down 0.42% at $125.68, while shares of Microsoft were up 0.35% at $248.72. Shares of Nuance were up 0.32% at $44.37.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":88,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9046156892,"gmtCreate":1656316830616,"gmtModify":1676535805044,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$WILMAR INTERNATIONAL LIMITED(F34.SI)$Good support at $4👍🏻","listText":"$WILMAR INTERNATIONAL LIMITED(F34.SI)$Good support at $4👍🏻","text":"$WILMAR INTERNATIONAL LIMITED(F34.SI)$Good support at $4👍🏻","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6039981d14092a31e54cdb49323253d1","width":"1242","height":"2448"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9046156892","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":451,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097009330,"gmtCreate":1645248087154,"gmtModify":1676534013351,"author":{"id":"3573282285722566","authorId":"3573282285722566","name":"Yoongs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/359041796fe61458080479cfd058165b","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573282285722566","authorIdStr":"3573282285722566"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"👍🏻","listText":"👍🏻","text":"👍🏻","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097009330","repostId":"1111287804","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1111287804","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1645240974,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1111287804?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-19 11:22","market":"us","language":"en","title":"What Warren Buffett Can Do to Ensure a Brighter Future for Berkshire Hathaway","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1111287804","media":"Barrons","summary":"It may be time for some changes at Berkshire Hathaway as CEO Warren Buffett starts to look ahead to ","content":"

He points out that Foxconn, a key Apple manufacturing partner, has called out the tight supply of partsbut said it would affect less than 10% of customer orders.
\n
Meanwhile, he notes thati Phone shipments in Chinawere up 185% in the first two months of the quarter, while the App Store saw 32% growth in the quarter. He notes that Apple had guided to some deceleration in services in the quarter after 30% growth in the December quarter, but he sees potential that the growth will be steady or better given strength in the App Store.
\n
In short, Daryanani thinks Apple is positioned to report “sizable upside” versus expectations for the March quarter, with June guidance likely to be in line with expectations or better. Long term, he thinks the company can sustain mid-to-high single-digit sales growth and low-teens earnings-per-share growth.
\n
Apple is due to report earnings on April 28. There are reasons to think more gains could follow.\nEvercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani this morning repeated his Outperform rating and $175 target price on Apple shares (ticker: AAPL), while adding the stock to the firm’s Tactical Outperform list.\nThe analyst thinks Apple is “well-positioned to report upside to March quarter estimates,” driven by strong performance by bothiPhoneandservices, and despite ongoing component shortages.\n“While the supply chain issues are real, we expect Apple will be relatively protected by its status as one of the largest electronics purchasers in the world,” Daryanani writes in a research note. He points out that Foxconn, a key Apple manufacturing partner, has called out the tight supply of partsbut said it would affect less than 10% of customer orders.\nMeanwhile, he notes thati Phone shipments in Chinawere up 185% in the first two months of the quarter, while the App Store saw 32% growth in the quarter. He notes that Apple had guided to some deceleration in services in the quarter after 30% growth in the December quarter, but he sees potential that the growth will be steady or better given strength in the App Store.\nIn short, Daryanani thinks Apple is positioned to report “sizable upside” versus expectations for the March quarter, with June guidance likely to be in line with expectations or better. Long term, he thinks the company can sustain mid-to-high single-digit sales growth and low-teens earnings-per-share growth.\nApple is due to report earnings on April 28. Current Street consensus calls for revenue of $77 billion and profits of 98 cents a share.\nApple stock was down 1.8%, at $132.03, in recent trading.
