The telecommunications giant has lagged the <b>S&amp;P 500</b> index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.</p><p>Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.</p><p>All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.</p><p>The biggest concern about AT&amp;T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.</p><h2><b>2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter</b></h2><p>W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.</p><p>The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.</p><p>It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b9522ac8783b80e9beb8eb160a591309\" tg-width=\"720\" tg-height=\"486\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">Data by YCharts.</p><h2><b>3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore</b></h2><p>Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy&nbsp;dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.</p><p>Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.</p><p>So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.</p><p>The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.</p><h2><b>4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors</b></h2><p>Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.</p><p>The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.</p><p>The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.</p><h2><b>5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on</b></h2><p>TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.</p><p>In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.</p><p>The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.</p><h2><b>Making the best of a good situation</b></h2><p>All five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. Anticipation of the fall launch of the company’s first 5G phones, surging demand for both Macs and iPads as the pandemic rolled on, and strength in both wearables and services fed off each other. The pieces all came together in the December quarter, when Apple (ticker: AAPL) posted&nbsp;its biggest quarter ever. Sales soared 21% to $111.4 billion, more than $8 billion over the Street consensus. Every product category—iPhone, iPad, Macs, wearables, and services—notched double-digit growth. Apple stock finished the year up 81%, adding nearly $1 trillion to its market cap.</p>\n<p>That’s a tough act to follow, particularly with the March quarter, which always slows from the holiday-boosted December quarter. But Apple could pull off the quintuple double again when its results come out after the bell Wednesday. The Street certainly thinks so, even if the market, which has pushed Apple shares up less than 2% in 2021, has been more cautious. Consensus estimates call for double-digit increases from last year across the board: iPhones sales up 43%, to $41.4 billion; iPad sales up 29%, to $5.6 billion; Mac sales of $6.8 billion, up 27%; wearables sales (mostly Apple Watch and AirPods) of $7.4 billion, up 18%; and a 16% bump in services, to $15.5 billion.</p>\n<p>Overall, the Street consensus expects sales of $77 billion, up 32% from a year ago, with profits of 98 cents a share. That would be the fastest top-line growth rate for any Apple quarter since March 2012, when revenues were about half what they are now. Musk and CFO Zachary Kirkhorn both said supply chain issues are likely to remain a challenge for Tesla this year.</p><p>In January 2021 (during a fourth-quarter 2020 earnings update) Musk had said that the Model S Plaid was already in production would be delivered starting in February 2021. The sudden price change applied retroactively to some&nbsp;vexed customers.</p><p>Musk said on the Q1 2021 call that he is aiming for homes with solar rooftops and batteries from Tesla to function as a “giant distributed utility” that can help incumbent electrical utilities supply customers with all the electricity they need as demand and extreme weather events increase.</p><p>Executives did not say how they would change their production or mix of battery cells from suppliers in order to make a higher volume of vehicles and energy storage products in 2021.</p><p>Musk said the company’s 4680 cells, which it developed independently and makes at a pilot plant in Fremont, California, are not yet reliable enough to be shipped in Tesla vehicles. He said Tesla would probably “achieve volume production” of these cells in 12 to 18 months.</p><p>The company revealed in February it purchased&nbsp;$1.5 billion in bitcoin&nbsp;and would potentially invest in other cryptocurrencies in the future. By April, bitcoin rose to record levels before pulling back. The company, unlike its rivals Nio (NYSE:NIO) and XPeng (NYSE:XPEV), focuses on EREV vehicles, or a combination of BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles. The concept behind an EREV is that a vehicle runs on a battery until it runs out of energy, then a small engine creates energy for the electric motors using fossil fuels to significantly increase the vehicles' driving range. In other words, EREV is a vehicle that takes the best of BEV and ICE.</p>\n<p><b>Bull Thesis</b></p>\n<p>The world is in a transitory phase away from ICE vehicles to cleaner forms of transportation, and Li Auto is in a potential position to benefit from this movement. Here are reasons why:</p>\n<ol>\n <li><p>Li Auto's EREV vehicle is showing strong sales growth</p></li>\n <li><p>Li Auto's revenue growth and profitability potential is attractive</p></li>\n <li><p>Li Auto has a healthy balance sheet and attractive valuation compared to its competitors</p></li>\n</ol>\n<p><b>Bear Thesis</b></p>\n<p>All companies with exponential growth and amazing stories come at a risk, and Li Auto is no exception.</p>\n<ol>\n <li><p>The world will eventually move to complete electric vehicles or BEV, but Li Auto's transition from EREV to BEV might not be successful. Also, will customers continue to seek EREV vehicles if BEV vehicles' range significantly improves?</p></li>\n</ol>\n<p><b>Sales Growth</b></p>\n<p>Li Auto's vehicle, Li One's, sales data is growing at an unimaginable speed. Li Auto delivered&nbsp;32,624&nbsp;vehicles in 2020. Surprisingly, about 44% of the sales came from Q4 alone, which means that Li Auto's delivery is increasing significantly quarter over quarter. In 2021, Li Auto delivered&nbsp;5379&nbsp;vehicles in January,2300&nbsp;vehicles in February, and 4900 vehicles in March. In total, the company delivered 12579 vehicles for the quarter ending in March, which is about a 344% increase year over year. Also. because the management team estimated sales between&nbsp;10500 to 1150&nbsp;0vehicle deliveries in the first quarter, Li Auto proved that their EREV vehicle is still in high demand. Thus, Li Auto will most likely report great earnings and show strong revenue growth in 2021 as well.</p>\n<p><b>Li Auto's Growth</b></p>\n<p>Li Auto started selling its vehicle Li-One in late 2019, and Li Auto's revenue has been growing at an exponential rate since then.Li Auto had a revenue&nbsp;of 40.9 million dollars in December 2019 quarter. In the September 2020 quarter, Li Auto had revenue of 369.8 million dollars, and in December 2020 quarter, Li Auto had revenue of 635.3 million dollars.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/29b00f665fd99abd1f2effa9f0f6beda\" tg-width=\"635\" tg-height=\"403\"></p>\n<p>Li Auto's quarter-over-quarter revenue growth from the quarter ending in September to December in 2020 was 72%. On top of this,According to Yahoo Finance, Li Auto's 2021 full-year revenue estimate is about 2.9 billion dollars, which is up over 100% from 1.4 billion dollars in 2020 revenue. Li Auto's exponential growth cannot be denied. Revenues show that Li Auto is growing faster than XPeng and Nio at the moment, and if this trend can continue, Li Auto will be one of the best investments for investors.</p>\n<p>However, there is a problem. Li Auto's revenue growth was solely based on a single EREV vehicle while the world is transitioning to BEV vehicles. EREV vehicles do have advantages with longer range than BEV vehicles, but regulators and consumers will eventually move toward BEV vehicles. Also, in my opinion, Li Auto's most significant competitive advantage is the fact that its vehicle is an EREV, which means that customers are favoring Li One's long-range compared to its competitors. For example, according to&nbsp;Li Auto,Li-One has a range of 500 miles while Nio's ET7 has a range of&nbsp;310 miles and up to 435 miles. This is a significant risk. BEV vehicles' ranges are increasing significantly fast, which means that Li Auto's competitive advantage is decreasing. New batteries such as solid-state batteries will increase the range even further for BEV vehicles. This has the potential to dent Li Auto's sales. Also, once the company transitions to BEV vehicles, customers might migrate to Li Auto's competitors since the competitive advantage of being EREV disappeared. After all, the BEV vehicle market in China is ultra-competitive with multiple start-ups and traditional automakers. I believe this risk is going to be a problem for Li Auto until the company can prove that its BEV vehicles can retain similar sales as its EREV vehicles.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e3ccf9dba33140a395eb7a7378d7eec4\" tg-width=\"598\" tg-height=\"270\"><span>Source - The picture shows a layout of an EREV vehicle</span></p>\n<p>On the bright side, Li Auto is closest to profitability among Nio and XPeng. Li Auto had a net income of&nbsp;16.5 million dollars&nbsp;in the quarter ending in December 2020 while&nbsp;Nio&nbsp;and XPeng lost 228.6 and 418.5 million dollars, respectively. Although Li Auto posted positive net income during the December quarter, the company is still expected to report a small amount of loss at about&nbsp;-0.06&nbsp;per share before reaching profitability in 2022. All in all, Li Auto seems to be managing its cost better than its competitors, while growing at a faster pace.</p>\n<p>Li Auto's ability to grow exponentially while being close to profitability is showing strong bullish signs for the company; however, questions of Li Auto's sustainability with EREV vehicles remain.</p>\n<p><b>Balance Sheet and Valuation</b></p>\n<p>Li Auto, in my opinion, has a very healthy balance sheet, and when considering that the company is growing at an exponential rate, the balance sheet seems even better. Li Auto has 4.3 billion dollars in cash and short-term investments with only 78 million dollars in long-term debt. Furthermore, the company's total liability to total asset ratio (L/S) is at only 18%. Considering that Li Auto is barely losing money, I think it's more than reasonable to say that Li Auto has a healthy balance sheet. If I were to address any concern in the balance sheet, it would be 213.3 million dollars in capital lease, but this will not be a significant problem for the company with its current growth.</p>\n<p>Li Auto also has a very attractive valuation compared to Nio and XPeng at 12.5 p/s ratios compared to Nio's 18.45 and XPeng's 13.63. The concept behind an EREV is that a vehicle runs on a battery until it runs out of energy, then a small engine creates energy for the electric motors using fossil fuels to significantly increase the vehicles' driving range. In other words, EREV is a vehicle that takes the best of BEV and ICE.\nBull Thesis\nThe world is in a transitory phase away from ICE vehicles to cleaner forms of transportation, and Li Auto is in a potential position to benefit from this movement. Here are reasons why:\n\nLi Auto's EREV vehicle is showing strong sales growth\nLi Auto's revenue growth and profitability potential is attractive\nLi Auto has a healthy balance sheet and attractive valuation compared to its competitors\n\nBear Thesis\nAll companies with exponential growth and amazing stories come at a risk, and Li Auto is no exception.\n\nThe world will eventually move to complete electric vehicles or BEV, but Li Auto's transition from EREV to BEV might not be successful. Also, will customers continue to seek EREV vehicles if BEV vehicles' range significantly improves?\n\nSales Growth\nLi Auto's vehicle, Li One's, sales data is growing at an unimaginable speed. Li Auto delivered 32,624 vehicles in 2020. Surprisingly, about 44% of the sales came from Q4 alone, which means that Li Auto's delivery is increasing significantly quarter over quarter. In 2021, Li Auto delivered 5379 vehicles in January,2300 vehicles in February, and 4900 vehicles in March. In total, the company delivered 12579 vehicles for the quarter ending in March, which is about a 344% increase year over year. BEV vehicles' ranges are increasing significantly fast, which means that Li Auto's competitive advantage is decreasing. New batteries such as solid-state batteries will increase the range even further for BEV vehicles. This has the potential to dent Li Auto's sales. Also, once the company transitions to BEV vehicles, customers might migrate to Li Auto's competitors since the competitive advantage of being EREV disappeared. After all, the BEV vehicle market in China is ultra-competitive with multiple start-ups and traditional automakers. I believe this risk is going to be a problem for Li Auto until the company can prove that its BEV vehicles can retain similar sales as its EREV vehicles.\nSource - The picture shows a layout of an EREV vehicle\nOn the bright side, Li Auto is closest to profitability among Nio and XPeng. Li Auto had a net income of 16.5 million dollars in the quarter ending in December 2020 while Nio and XPeng lost 228.6 and 418.5 million dollars, respectively. Although Li Auto posted positive net income during the December quarter, the company is still expected to report a small amount of loss at about -0.06 per share before reaching profitability in 2022. All in all, Li Auto seems to be managing its cost better than its competitors, while growing at a faster pace.\nLi Auto's ability to grow exponentially while being close to profitability is showing strong bullish signs for the company; however, questions of Li Auto's sustainability with EREV vehicles remain.\nBalance Sheet and Valuation\nLi Auto, in my opinion, has a very healthy balance sheet, and when considering that the company is growing at an exponential rate, the balance sheet seems even better. Li Auto has 4.3 billion dollars in cash and short-term investments with only 78 million dollars in long-term debt. Furthermore, the company's total liability to total asset ratio (L/S) is at only 18%. Considering that Li Auto is barely losing money, I think it's more than reasonable to say that Li Auto has a healthy balance sheet. If I were to address any concern in the balance sheet, it would be 213.3 million dollars in capital lease, but this will not be a significant problem for the company with its current growth.\nLi Auto also has a very attractive valuation compared to Nio and XPeng at 12.5 p/s ratios compared to Nio's 18.45 and XPeng's 13.63. The thing is, the tech giant just might be able to pull it off.</p>\n<p>The buzz around Apple last year was off the charts, even for what is the buzziest of technology companies. Anticipation of the fall launch of the company’s first 5G phones, surging demand for both Macs and iPads as the pandemic rolled on, and strength in both wearables and services fed off each other. The pieces all came together in the December quarter, when Apple (ticker: AAPL) posted&nbsp;its biggest quarter ever. Sales soared 21% to $111.4 billion, more than $8 billion over the Street consensus. Every product category—iPhone, iPad, Macs, wearables, and services—notched double-digit growth. Apple stock finished the year up 81%, adding nearly $1 trillion to its market cap.</p>\n<p>That’s a tough act to follow, particularly with the March quarter, which always slows from the holiday-boosted December quarter. But Apple could pull off the quintuple double again when its results come out after the bell Wednesday. The Street certainly thinks so, even if the market, which has pushed Apple shares up less than 2% in 2021, has been more cautious. Consensus estimates call for double-digit increases from last year across the board: iPhones sales up 43%, to $41.4 billion; iPad sales up 29%, to $5.6 billion; Mac sales of $6.8 billion, up 27%; wearables sales (mostly Apple Watch and AirPods) of $7.4 billion, up 18%; and a 16% bump in services, to $15.5 billion.</p>\n<p>Overall, the Street consensus expects sales of $77 billion, up 32% from a year ago, with profits of 98 cents a share. That would be the fastest top-line growth rate for any Apple quarter since March 2012, when revenues were about half what they are now. And most bullish Apple analysts seem to think their own estimates are too low—a print at $77 billion would likely trigger a selloff in the stock.</p>\n<p>Apple is also&nbsp;expected to provide an update on its capital-allocation strategy. A year ago,the company announced a 6% dividend increase, and boosted its stock repurchase plan by $50 billion. Apple has said repeatedly that it is pushing to get to a cash neutral position, but its remarkably big cash flow has slowed progress toward that goal.</p>\n<p>As always, the quarter is about more than just earnings.</p>\n<p>For one, the Street will be looking for signs that the sales surge for Macs and iPads is sustainable—and that the company is keeping up with demand despite widespread chip and display shortages. Some investors worry that the spike in PC demand could ebb as more people return to schools and offices. They’ll be looking for company guidance on that point.</p>\n<p>Another is the sustainability of the resurgence in iPhone growth. There were high hopes among bulls that the iPhone 12 would drive a “supercycle” with an accelerated replacement cycle. Several analysts have noted that a clear consumer preference for the high end of the iPhone 12 line is driving up average selling prices, which should support a strong revenue quarter for the segment.</p>\n<p>“Given the later-than-seasonal launch of new iPhones in the fall of 2020, we believe iPhone demand will experience more favorable year-over-year comparisons this March quarter compared to past years,” writes Monness Crespi Hardt’s Brian White, who sees 47% iPhone revenue growth during the quarter.</p>\n<p>And if Apple pulls it all together? Apple could crush Street estimates, writes Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty, who has an Overweight rating and a $158 price target on the stock, up 17% from Monday’s close of $134.72. She sees the top line above $80 billion, with all segments growing at least 19% year over year. She is especially bullish on Mac and iPad sales, with estimates far above consensus—53% for Macs and 52% for iPads. The thing is, the tech giant just might be able to pull it off.\nThe buzz around Apple last year was off the charts, even for what is the buzziest of technology companies. Anticipation of the fall launch of the company’s first 5G phones, surging demand for both Macs and iPads as the pandemic rolled on, and strength in both wearables and services fed off each other. The pieces all came together in the December quarter, when Apple (ticker: AAPL) posted its biggest quarter ever. Sales soared 21% to $111.4 billion, more than $8 billion over the Street consensus. Every product category—iPhone, iPad, Macs, wearables, and services—notched double-digit growth. Apple stock finished the year up 81%, adding nearly $1 trillion to its market cap.\nThat’s a tough act to follow, particularly with the March quarter, which always slows from the holiday-boosted December quarter. But Apple could pull off the quintuple double again when its results come out after the bell Wednesday. The Street certainly thinks so, even if the market, which has pushed Apple shares up less than 2% in 2021, has been more cautious. Consensus estimates call for double-digit increases from last year across the board: iPhones sales up 43%, to $41.4 billion; iPad sales up 29%, to $5.6 billion; Mac sales of $6.8 billion, up 27%; wearables sales (mostly Apple Watch and AirPods) of $7.4 billion, up 18%; and a 16% bump in services, to $15.5 billion.\nOverall, the Street consensus expects sales of $77 billion, up 32% from a year ago, with profits of 98 cents a share. That would be the fastest top-line growth rate for any Apple quarter since March 2012, when revenues were about half what they are now. And most bullish Apple analysts seem to think their own estimates are too low—a print at $77 billion would likely trigger a selloff in the stock.\nApple is also expected to provide an update on its capital-allocation strategy. A year ago,the company announced a 6% dividend increase, and boosted its stock repurchase plan by $50 billion. Apple has said repeatedly that it is pushing to get to a cash neutral position, but its remarkably big cash flow has slowed progress toward that goal.\nAs always, the quarter is about more than just earnings.\nFor one, the Street will be looking for signs that the sales surge for Macs and iPads is sustainable—and that the company is keeping up with demand despite widespread chip and display shortages. Some investors worry that the spike in PC demand could ebb as more people return to schools and offices. They’ll be looking for company guidance on that point.\nAnother is the sustainability of the resurgence in iPhone growth. There were high hopes among bulls that the iPhone 12 would drive a “supercycle” with an accelerated replacement cycle. Several analysts have noted that a clear consumer preference for the high end of the iPhone 12 line is driving up average selling prices, which should support a strong revenue quarter for the segment.\n“Given the later-than-seasonal launch of new iPhones in the fall of 2020, we believe iPhone demand will experience more favorable year-over-year comparisons this March quarter compared to past years,” writes Monness Crespi Hardt’s Brian White, who sees 47% iPhone revenue growth during the quarter.\nAnd if Apple pulls it all together? Apple could crush Street estimates, writes Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty, who has an Overweight rating and a $158 price target on the stock, up 17% from Monday’s close of $134.72. She sees the top line above $80 billion, with all segments growing at least 19% year over year. She is especially bullish on Mac and iPad sales, with estimates far above consensus—53% for Macs and 52% for iPads.
