The analyst quiet period expires on ThredUp(NASDAQ:TDUP)on April 20 to free up analysts to post ratings. Shares of Trip.com(NASDAQ:TRIP)will begin trading in Hong Kong this week following a new listing.

Apple event: Apple(NASDAQ:AAPL)holds an event on April 20 called \"Spring Loaded\" to show off new products. Information out of Cupertino has been pretty tight, but the company could reveal new iPads, new iMacs, new AirPods, AirTags, a new Apple TV and possibly a new Apple Pencil.

Projected dividend increases (quarterly): Expected dividend boosts for the week include Comfort Systems USA(NYSE:FIX)to $0.125 from $0.1115, HP Enterprise(NYSE:HPE)to $0.1275 from $0.12, Pool Corp(NASDAQ:POOL)to $0.61 from $0.58, Johnson & Johnson to $1.06 from $1.01, Travelers(NYSE:TRV)to $0.88 from $0.85, Southern Company(NYSE:SO)to $0.66 from $0.64, Kinder Morgan(NYSE:KMI)to $0.27 from $0.2625 and Nasdaq(NASDAQ:NDAQ)to $0.50 from $0.49.

M&A tidbits: The highly-anticipated Aphria(NASDAQ:APHA)-Tilray(NASDAQ:TLRY)merger is expected to close on April 20. Cathie Wood's firm also defended Silvergate(NYSE:SI)after its mid-week stumble likely in response to the Coinbase IPO. \"Investors potentially took profits to diversify their exposure to crypto in the public markets. \"In our view, the Silvergate Exchange Network, with its strong network effects, positions Silvergate as both a facilitator and a prime beneficiary of increased crypto adoption,\" ARK reasons.

Corporate spotlight: Major events this week include strategic updates from Advance Auto Parts(NYSE:AAP)and Royal Gold(NYSE:GOLD)on April 20, as well as investor days for Dye & Durham(OTC:DYNDF)and SMART Global(NASDAQ:SGH). Check outSeeking Alpha's Catalyst Watch for a detailed list of events to watch.

Barron's mentions: Disney(NYSE:DIS)makes the cover of Barron's this week as the media giant is given credit for positioning itself for post-COVID growth. Disney is said to have come out ahead after CEO Bob Chapek and team faced the severest of financial stress tests. \"When parks and theaters emptied out a year ago, costs kept rolling in, and the fastest-growing part of the business, streaming, was consuming cash—as it still is. Yet, Disney generated $3.6 billion in free cash during its fiscal year ended last September. It’s seen producing $3.3 billion this year before the numbers begin a sharp rebound,\" notes Jack Hough. While the movie business is still sputtering to restart and the TV business is seen holding steady at best, streaming results have shattered forecasts. Disney+ smashed expectations in piling up 100M in less than 18 months, compared to the 10 years it took Netflix to hit that level. Disney is targeting 300M to 350M subscribers by 2024 across all of its streaming platforms, including Hulu, ESPN+, Hotstar in India, and Star+ in Latin America (launches in June). PetIQ(NASDAQ:PETQ)and O'Reilly Automotive(NASDAQ:ORLY)also land favorable write-ups this week.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Stocks To Watch: Apple Event, Disney Callout And Earnings Blitz
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nStocks To Watch: Apple Event, Disney Callout And Earnings Blitz\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-19 00:17 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Stocks to Watch - a preview of key events scheduled for the this week. PetIQ(NASDAQ:PETQ)and O'Reilly Automotive(NASDAQ:ORLY)also land favorable write-ups this week.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":280,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3577323067833105","authorId":"3577323067833105","name":"Chounz","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/984ba0e3676b05b30a09c829b411eb2d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"content":"Please comment and Like Back pls","text":"Please comment and Like Back pls","html":"Please comment and Like Back pls"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":888498045,"gmtCreate":1631515624887,"gmtModify":1676530563003,"author":{"id":"3574490842783599","authorId":"3574490842783599","name":"Momosoar","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/faf9b47c0a3f9258aedd31abbb050705","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Is it still time to buy apple","listText":"Is it still time to buy apple","text":"Is it still time to buy apple","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/888498045","repostId":"1127947312","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1127947312","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1631515134,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1127947312?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-09-13 14:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"GameStop, Cameco, Apple, Tesla, AMC: Stocks Buzzing On WallStreetBets Heading Into New Week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1127947312","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Heading into a new trading week,GameStop Corp.,Cameco Corp.,Apple Inc.,Tesla Inc. and AMCEntertainme","content":"
Heading into a new trading week,GameStop Corp.,Cameco Corp.,Apple Inc.,Tesla Inc. and AMCEntertainment Holdings Inc. are among the stocks seeing the highest interest on Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets forum.
\n
What Happened: Exchange-traded fund SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust is seeing the highest interest on the forum with 125 mentions as at press time, followed by videogame retailer GameStop and uranium producer Cameco with 35 mentions each, data from Quiver Quantitative showed.
\n
Tech giant Apple and electric vehicle maker Tesla attracted 31 and 19 mentions, respectively.
\n
Apart from movie theatre chain AMC Entertainment, the other stocks that are trending on the forum include Medicare Advantage provider Clover Health Investments Corp., Canada-based cybersecurity provider BlackBerry Limited and technology-based personal insurance company Root Inc..
\n
In addition to these stocks, investors are looking ahead to the release of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for August from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday.
\n
Why It Matters: Cameco’s shares gained more than 6% in Friday’s trading and also touched a new 52-week high of $25.08, reflecting rising uranium prices and brightening prospects for the uranium industry.
\n
Apple is seeing high interest on the WSB forum ahead of its first hardware unveiling this year, dubbed “California Streaming,” to be held on Sept. 14.
\n
Meanwhile, Apple’s shares were also hit on Friday by a ruling issued by a U.S. judge on the antitrust lawsuit brought by “Fortnite” games developer Epic Games. AT&T: High dividends are calling

AT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.

Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.

All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.

The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.

2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter

W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.

The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.

It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.

Data by YCharts.

3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore

Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.

Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.

So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.

The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. These stocks are worth looking over as they should provide ample total returns for patient investors.Image source: Getty Images.1. AT&T: High dividends are callingAT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarterW.P. It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.Data by YCharts.3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignoreSabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.4. I figured the legacy air carrier would put out a poorly received report, and the financials did come into a little turbulence with another huge loss on a sharp decline in revenue.
\n
Norwegian Cruise Line tumbled 7% for the week. It was a rough week for cruise lines. There was more pressure to keep the industry from resuming operations out of stateside ports this summer.
\n
Carnival stock was the biggest sinker of the three stocks, losing 8% of its value. It was a great week to double up on the number of cruise stocks on this list to avoid. Carnival had risen 9% the week before, and this wiped nearly all of those previous gains out.
\n
\n
The three stocks averaged a 6.7% slide for the week. The S&P 500 actually rose during the week. The 1.4% gain naturally beat the three stocks that all went the wrong way. This week, I see Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN), American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL), and Travelzoo (NASDAQ:TZOO) as vulnerable investments in the near term. Here's why I think these are three stocks to avoid this week.
\n
\n
1. Coinbase Global
\n
Last week's buzzworthy IPO was Coinbase Global. The leading cryptocurrency marketplace is growingly briskly. Revenue soared 144% to $1.3 billion in 2020. It was a mesmerizing debutante, of course. Coinbase priced its direct listing at a reference price of $250, and it wasn't enough. It soared when it began trading well into Wednesday's trading day. It closed out the week trading 37% above its reference price.
\n
Coinbase is going to be one of the market's best cryptocurrency stocks, giving investors to play the entire marketplace instead of individual tokens or players. However, the $68 billion market cap it has entering the new week of trading is problematic. There are a growing number of places to trade crypto, and trading costs for investors will invariably head lower in the process. If you saw the race to zero for stock brokerages it's easy to see this become a cutthroat niche as well.
\n
Coinbase finds itself in a potentially lose-lose situation. If cryptocurrency begins losing favor obviously this will end horribly for Coinbase. However, success for the next-gen currency vehicles can also end badly for Coinbase as major financial hotbeds embrace crypto trading at more competitive commission rates.
\n
2. American Airlines
\n
I was right to be worried about Delta's quarterly report last week, and now we have American Airlines as the next legacy carrier on the runway. It reports on Thursday morning.
\n
It's fair to point out that investors are more prepared for a dud out of American Airlines now that they heard from Delta last week. American Airlines stock took a 6% hit in an otherwise buoyant market trading last week, partly in sympathy with Delta's poorly received financials -- but also because American previewed its upcoming financials. It wasn't pretty. American Airlines expects to post a larger loss than analysts were modeling. Wall Street pros see revenue cut by more than half for the period.
\n
A rough report isn't normally going to be a deal breaker, but then you have the stock's valuation to worry about. American Airlines is fetching an enterprise value well above the $33 billion it was commanding at the end of 2019 before the pandemic became a fundamentals-crushing reality. American Airlines ascending shares along with financing through fresh shares and debt have bloated the value of the business. The valuation is out of whack, and a rough report on Thursday will only hammer that point home.
\n
3. Travelzoo
\n
Travelzoo reported fourth-quarter results just five weeks ago, but it's back with its first-quarter results on Thursday. Travelzoo is a popular provider of travel deals with 30.2 million members worldwide, and I'll concede that this is a dangerous name to put on this list. I figured the legacy air carrier would put out a poorly received report, and the financials did come into a little turbulence with another huge loss on a sharp decline in revenue.\nNorwegian Cruise Line tumbled 7% for the week. It was a rough week for cruise lines. There was more pressure to keep the industry from resuming operations out of stateside ports this summer.\nCarnival stock was the biggest sinker of the three stocks, losing 8% of its value. It was a great week to double up on the number of cruise stocks on this list to avoid. Carnival had risen 9% the week before, and this wiped nearly all of those previous gains out.\n\nThe three stocks averaged a 6.7% slide for the week. Here's why I think these are three stocks to avoid this week.\nImage source: Getty Images.\n1. Coinbase Global\nLast week's buzzworthy IPO was Coinbase Global. It closed out the week trading 37% above its reference price.\nCoinbase is going to be one of the market's best cryptocurrency stocks, giving investors to play the entire marketplace instead of individual tokens or players. However, the $68 billion market cap it has entering the new week of trading is problematic. There are a growing number of places to trade crypto, and trading costs for investors will invariably head lower in the process. If you saw the race to zero for stock brokerages it's easy to see this become a cutthroat niche as well.\nCoinbase finds itself in a potentially lose-lose situation. If cryptocurrency begins losing favor obviously this will end horribly for Coinbase. However, success for the next-gen currency vehicles can also end badly for Coinbase as major financial hotbeds embrace crypto trading at more competitive commission rates.\n2. American Airlines\nI was right to be worried about Delta's quarterly report last week, and now we have American Airlines as the next legacy carrier on the runway. It reports on Thursday morning.\nIt's fair to point out that investors are more prepared for a dud out of American Airlines now that they heard from Delta last week. American Airlines stock took a 6% hit in an otherwise buoyant market trading last week, partly in sympathy with Delta's poorly received financials -- but also because American previewed its upcoming financials. It wasn't pretty. American Airlines expects to post a larger loss than analysts were modeling. Wall Street pros see revenue cut by more than half for the period.\nA rough report isn't normally going to be a deal breaker, but then you have the stock's valuation to worry about. American Airlines is fetching an enterprise value well above the $33 billion it was commanding at the end of 2019 before the pandemic became a fundamentals-crushing reality. American Airlines ascending shares along with financing through fresh shares and debt have bloated the value of the business. The valuation is out of whack, and a rough report on Thursday will only hammer that point home.\n3. Travelzoo\nTravelzoo reported fourth-quarter results just five weeks ago, but it's back with its first-quarter results on Thursday. Travelzoo is a popular provider of travel deals with 30.2 million members worldwide, and I'll concede that this is a dangerous name to put on this list. Stimulus checks and COVID-19 vaccinations are picking up, and Travelzoo's a smart way for folks to travel sponsored getaway bargains.\nThe rub here is that there are still plenty of international travel restrictions in place. Travelzoo's overhead is low enough where it returned to profitability in the previous quarter, but it fell well short of analyst revenue targets. I see a repeat performance this week.\nIf you're looking for safe stocks, you aren't likely to find them in Coinbase, American Airlines, and Travelzoo this week.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":48,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":889305991,"gmtCreate":1631108255313,"gmtModify":1676530469577,"author":{"id":"3574490842783599","authorId":"3574490842783599","name":"Momosoar","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/faf9b47c0a3f9258aedd31abbb050705","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Pls rise","listText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Pls rise","text":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$Pls rise","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/db9620502262e467f695deae86528fc0","width":"1125","height":"1949"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/889305991","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":76,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":185235586,"gmtCreate":1623651630145,"gmtModify":1704207861096,"author":{"id":"3574490842783599","authorId":"3574490842783599","name":"Momosoar","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/faf9b47c0a3f9258aedd31abbb050705","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Long term maybe","listText":"Long term maybe","text":"Long term maybe","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/185235586","repostId":"2143851017","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2143851017","pubTimestamp":1623650661,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2143851017?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-14 14:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Is Pinterest Stock a Buy?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2143851017","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The social network will likely keep growing after the pandemic ends.","content":"
Pinterest's (NYSE:PINS) stock soared more than 250% in 2020 as it gained over a hundred million new users throughout the pandemic. That trend could continue throughout the rest of the year, but should long-term investors buy Pinterest anyway?
\n
Pinterest is still growing like a weed...
\n
Pinterest's monthly active users (MAUs) increased 37% to 459 million at the end of 2020. YOY = Year-over-year.
\n
But it could hit a few speed bumps soon
\n
However, Pinterest's 78% revenue growth in the first quarter reflects its easy year-over-year comparison to the pandemic's initial impact on its advertising business a year ago. That's also why its expectations for 105% year-over-year revenue growth in the second quarter aren't all that impressive.
\n
For the full year, analysts expect Pinterest's revenue to rise 53% to $2.6 billion, which would still represent accelerating growth from 2020, and increase another 33% next year. That outlook is promising, but Pinterest's latest quarterly report had a few notable flaws.
\n
First, Pinterest's MAU growth in the first quarter of 2021 actually marked its slowest year-over-year growth in four quarters. Second, its MAU growth in the U.S. has stalled out sequentially at 98 million for three straight quarters.
\n
Therefore, Pinterest is relying more heavily on its international users, who accounted for 79% of its total MAUs last quarter, to drive its growth. But its international users generate lower ARPU than its domestic users, and they only contributed 20% of its revenue during the quarter.
\n
Pinterest expects its U.S. MAUs to remain flat year-over-year and decline sequentially to about 96 million in the second quarter. It expects its total MAUs to only grow by the \"mid-teens\" -- which implies its growth in international MAUs will also cool off.
\n
Looking beyond the pandemic
\n
The bulls will attribute most of that slowdown to tough post-pandemic comparisons, and claim Pinterest's growth will stabilize over the long term.
\n
After all, retailers like IKEA have already uploaded their entire print catalogs to Pinterest as shoppable pins, and its pinboards have carved out a high-growth niche in the crowded social networking market. It also easily deflected competition from challengers like Hobbi, Facebook's short-lived Pinterest clone.
\n
Furthermore, many other social networking companies, including Facebook and Twitter, also serve more overseas users but generate most of their revenue domestically. Pinterest plans to boost its overseas ARPU as it expands into new markets in Latin America and Asia, and that growth could gradually reduce its dependence on the saturated domestic market.
\n
A sequential slowdown in users also doesn't indicate Pinterest is doomed. Snap's (NYSE:SNAP) Snapchat faced a similar slowdown throughout 2018 after Facebook's Instagram cloned many of its features, but it overcame those challenges the following year and started growing again.
\n
Pinterest's profitability also continues to improve, in GAAP, non-GAAP, and adjusted EBITDA terms.
\n
\n <colgroup></colgroup>\n
\n
\n

Metric

\n

FY 2019

\n

FY 2020

\n

Q1 2021

\n
\n
\n

GAAP Net Income (Loss)

\n

($1.36 billion)

\n

($128.3 million)

\n

($21.7 million)

\n
\n
\n

Non-GAAP Net Income (Loss)

\n

$17.9 million

\n

$283.2 million

\n

$78.5 million

\n
\n
\n

Adjusted EBITDA

\n

$16.7 million

\n

$305.0 million

\n

$83.8 million

\n
\n
\n
\n
Data source: Pinterest.
\n
Analysts expect Pinterest's adjusted earnings to rise 117% this year, then grow another 44% next year. But I don't agree with that gloomy outlook.
\n
Pinterest is already bigger than Snapchat -- and also likely larger than Twitter, which no longer discloses its MAUs -- and it doesn't face any meaningful competitors. Its average revenue per user (ARPU) and total revenue also continued climbing at high double-digit rates.\n\n\n\n\nGrowth (YOY)\nFY 2019\nFY 2020\nQ1 2021\n\n\nMAUs (US)\n8%\n11%\n9%\n\n\nMAUs (International)\n35%\n46%\n37%\n\n\nMAUs (Total)\n26%\n37%\n30%\n\n\nARPU (US)\n24%\n27%\n50%\n\n\nARPU (International)\n115%\n62%\n91%\n\n\nARPU (Total)\n21%\n12%\n34%\n\n\nRevenue\n51%\n48%\n78%\n\n\n\nData source: Pinterest. YOY = Year-over-year.\nBut it could hit a few speed bumps soon\nHowever, Pinterest's 78% revenue growth in the first quarter reflects its easy year-over-year comparison to the pandemic's initial impact on its advertising business a year ago. That's also why its expectations for 105% year-over-year revenue growth in the second quarter aren't all that impressive.\nFor the full year, analysts expect Pinterest's revenue to rise 53% to $2.6 billion, which would still represent accelerating growth from 2020, and increase another 33% next year. That outlook is promising, but Pinterest's latest quarterly report had a few notable flaws.\nFirst, Pinterest's MAU growth in the first quarter of 2021 actually marked its slowest year-over-year growth in four quarters. Second, its MAU growth in the U.S. has stalled out sequentially at 98 million for three straight quarters.\nTherefore, Pinterest is relying more heavily on its international users, who accounted for 79% of its total MAUs last quarter, to drive its growth. But its international users generate lower ARPU than its domestic users, and they only contributed 20% of its revenue during the quarter.\nPinterest expects its U.S. MAUs to remain flat year-over-year and decline sequentially to about 96 million in the second quarter. It expects its total MAUs to only grow by the \"mid-teens\" -- which implies its growth in international MAUs will also cool off.\nLooking beyond the pandemic\nThe bulls will attribute most of that slowdown to tough post-pandemic comparisons, and claim Pinterest's growth will stabilize over the long term.\nAfter all, retailers like IKEA have already uploaded their entire print catalogs to Pinterest as shoppable pins, and its pinboards have carved out a high-growth niche in the crowded social networking market. It also easily deflected competition from challengers like Hobbi, Facebook's short-lived Pinterest clone.\nFurthermore, many other social networking companies, including Facebook and Twitter, also serve more overseas users but generate most of their revenue domestically. Pinterest plans to boost its overseas ARPU as it expands into new markets in Latin America and Asia, and that growth could gradually reduce its dependence on the saturated domestic market.\nA sequential slowdown in users also doesn't indicate Pinterest is doomed. Snap's (NYSE:SNAP) Snapchat faced a similar slowdown throughout 2018 after Facebook's Instagram cloned many of its features, but it overcame those challenges the following year and started growing again.\nPinterest's profitability also continues to improve, in GAAP, non-GAAP, and adjusted EBITDA terms.\n\n\n\n\nMetric\nFY 2019\nFY 2020\nQ1 2021\n\n\nGAAP Net Income (Loss)\n($1.36 billion)\n($128.3 million)\n($21.7 million)\n\n\nNon-GAAP Net Income (Loss)\n$17.9 million\n$283.2 million\n$78.5 million\n\n\nAdjusted EBITDA\n$16.7 million\n$305.0 million\n$83.8 million\n\n\n\nData source: Pinterest.\nAnalysts expect Pinterest's adjusted earnings to rise 117% this year, then grow another 44% next year. Based on those estimates, the stock still looks reasonably valued at just over 50 times forward earnings.\nDon't listen to the bears\nThe bears will claim Pinterest is a fad, and that its growth will permanently decelerate after the pandemic ends. But I don't agree with that gloomy outlook.\nPinterest is already bigger than Snapchat -- and also likely larger than Twitter, which no longer discloses its MAUs -- and it doesn't face any meaningful competitors. Pinterest might face some growing pains, but its stock remains undervalued relative to its growth potential in the visual search and social shopping markets.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":43,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3577917989847586","authorId":"3577917989847586","name":"Holidaymood","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c2f7be8cd64ecb0e1182c0d9afae636f","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"content":"Definitely [Smile]","text":"Definitely [Smile]","html":"Definitely [Smile]"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":118762316,"gmtCreate":1622762756235,"gmtModify":1704190550754,"author":{"id":"3574490842783599","authorId":"3574490842783599","name":"Momosoar","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/faf9b47c0a3f9258aedd31abbb050705","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$Earnings","listText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$Earnings","text":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$Earnings","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e42a0379633901065fdd8798d6ae74c5","width":"1125","height":"1949"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/118762316","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":86,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":198955666,"gmtCreate":1620920621955,"gmtModify":1704350566040,"author":{"id":"3574490842783599","authorId":"3574490842783599","name":"Momosoar","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/faf9b47c0a3f9258aedd31abbb050705","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Concern?!","listText":"Concern?!","text":"Concern?!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/198955666","repostId":"1116555518","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1116555518","pubTimestamp":1620913985,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1116555518?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-13 21:53","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why everyone from Elon Musk to Janet Yellen is worried about bitcoin’s energy usage","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1116555518","media":"cnbc","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nElon Musk said Tesla had halted purchases of vehicles with bitcoin due to concerns over ","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nElon Musk said Tesla had halted purchases of vehicles with bitcoin due to concerns over the “rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for bitcoin mining.”\nThe cryptocurrency uses more energy...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The cryptocurrency uses more energy than entire countries such as Sweden and Malaysia, according to the Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index.\nTo understand why bitcoin is so energy-intensive, you have to look at its underlying technology, the blockchain.\nBitcoin's public ledger is decentralized, meaning it isn't controlled by any single authority. It's constantly being updated by a network of computers around the world.\nSo-called miners run purpose-built computers to solve complex math puzzles in order to make a transaction go through. This is the only way to mint new bitcoins.\nMiners do not run this operation for free. They have to shell out huge sums on specialized equipment. A key incentive of bitcoin's model, known as \"proof of work,\" is the promise of being rewarded in some bitcoin if you manage to solve its complex hashing algorithm.\nIt's worth noting thatdogecoin, which has risen wildly in price lately on the back of support from Musk, also uses a proof-of-work mechanism.\nCarol Alexander, a professor at the University of Sussex Business School, explains that bitcoin's mining \"difficulty\" — a measure of the computational effort it takes to mine bitcoin — has been going \"up and up\" over the last three years.\n\"More and more electricity is being used,\" Alexander told CNBC. \"That means that the network difficulty will also be going up (and) more miners are coming in because the hash rate's going up.\"\nBitcoin's price is up almost 70% so far this year. As it goes up in price, the revenue to miners also increases, incentivizing more participants to mine the cryptocurrency.\nMeanwhile, Musk isn't the only one who's worried about the environmental impact of bitcoin. In February, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned that the digital coin is \"extremely inefficient\" for making transactions and uses a \"staggering\" amount of power.\nDoes bitcoin actually harm the environment?\nIt's complicated. On the one hand, bitcoin's network uses anunfathomable amount of energy. Much of the mining of bitcoin is concentrated in China, whose economy is still heavily reliant on coal.\nLast month, a coal mine in the Xinjiang region flooded and shut down. This took nearly a quarter of bitcoin's hash rate — or computing power — offline, according to crypto industry publicationCoinDesk.\nIn March, China's Inner Mongolia region said it wouldshut down cryptocurrency mining operationsin the region due to concerns over energy consumption.\nOn the other side of the debate, bitcoin investors have attempted to push back on the narrative that it's harmful for the environment.\nWhile it's difficult to determine the energy mix that powers bitcoin, some in the crypto industry say miners are incentivized to use renewables as it's getting cheaper to produce them. In China, the province of Sichuan is known to attract miners due to its cheap electricity and rich hydropower resources.\nLast month,Jack Dorsey'sfintech companySquareand Cathie Wood's Ark Invest put out amemoclaiming that bitcoin will actually drive renewable energy innovation. However, critics said they had avested interestin doing so.\nAlexander said the debate around bitcoin's environmental impact was misguided as most transactions with the digital asset aren't happening on the blockchain.\n\"Almost all the trading is not done on the blockchain,\" she said. \"It's done on secondary markets, centralized exchanges. They're not even recorded on the blockchain.\"\nESG concerns\nRegardless of whether bitcoin is actually a polluter or not, the negative connotations around its energy consumption have worried investors conscious of companies' ethical and environmental responsibilities.\nESG, or environmental, social and corporate governance, has become agrowing trendin financial markets, with portfolio managers increasingly incorporating sustainable investments into their strategies.\nSome Tesla shareholders may be worried that the company is betting big on bitcoin while also claiming to be a green energy company.\n\"Bitcoin backers will be wondering where this leaves the future of the cryptocurrency,\" Laith Khalaf, a financial analyst at investment firm AJ Bell, said in a note Thursday.\n\"Environmental matters are an incredibly sensitive subject right now, and Tesla's move might serve as a wake-up call to businesses and consumers using Bitcoin, who hadn't hitherto considered its carbon footprint,\" Khalaf added.\n\"Tesla's decision certainly puts pressure on other big companies who accept Bitcoin to review their practices, because boardrooms will now be wary about getting it in the ear from ESG investors on the shareholder register.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":98,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":802122470,"gmtCreate":1627737323490,"gmtModify":1703495356654,"author":{"id":"3574490842783599","authorId":"3574490842783599","name":"Momosoar","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/faf9b47c0a3f9258aedd31abbb050705","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$Upwards","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$Upwards","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$Upwards","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3c075c5cf4ea073af95d7469048516b5","width":"1125","height":"1949"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/802122470","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":76,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
