It is offering 25 million shares at $75 to $85 each, which means it could raise as much as $2.13 billion if the stock sells at the high end of that range. The company plans to trade on the Nasdaq under the symbol APP.</p><p>Eighteen underwriters are listed in the Applovin prospectus, includingMorgan Stanley(ticker: MS),JPMorgan Chase(JPM),KKR,&nbsp;Bank of America‘s (BAC) BofA Securities, andCitigroup(C).</p><p>Founded in 2012, Applovin&nbsp;provides software&nbsp;used by mobile-game developers to grow their businesses.&nbsp; Some 410 million people a day open apps that contain Applovin software, according to the company. Applovin also has a portfolio of more than 200 free-to-play mobile games with 32 million daily users.</p><p>In 2018, KKRbought a minority stakein Applovin for $400 million, valuing Applovin at $2 billion at the time. Applovin in February acquired Adjust, a firm that helps mobile-app developers measure the performance of apps and prevent fraud, for $1 billion. KKR will own 67.4% of the company after the IPO, theprospectus said.</p><p>With 357,955,309 shares outstanding, Applovin’s market capitalization could hit $30 billion.</p><p>TuSimple also set terms for its IPO. The self-driving technology company could raise as much as $1.3 billion; it is offering nearly 34 million shares at $35 to $39 each. It will trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker TSP.</p><p>Morgan Stanley(MS),Citigroup,and J.P. Morgan (JPM) are lead bookrunners on the deal.</p><p>Founded in 2015, TuSimple is looking to transform the $800 billion trucking industry. Still, as investors look for stability, they’re looking at the largest name in the market.</p>\n<p>For months — particularly in the fourth quarter and through the first half of Q1 — FAANG stocks like Apple, Amazon&nbsp;and Facebook&nbsp;have traded sideways, consolidating the large gains from the second quarter of 2020.</p>\n<p>Despite robust earnings results — where Apple reported&nbsp;revenue&nbsp;<i>$8 billion</i>&nbsp;<i>ahead</i>&nbsp;of expectations— the stock still couldn’t get going.</p>\n<p>I was bullish on the&nbsp;post-earnings dip, provided support held up. It didn’t and it was a red flag, as the shares went on to retreat. Is it finally time to buy?</p>\n<p><b>Trading Apple Stock</b></p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a0f5cecb09e68402d3167c50b14b1f1b\" tg-width=\"1070\" tg-height=\"736\"><span>Daily chart of Apple stock.</span></p>\n<p>A look at the chart shows that sellers still remain in control. I know that’s not what investors want to hear, but the technicals are clear.</p>\n<p>The 10-day, 21-day and 50-day moving averages have all turned lower and Apple is below all three of them, as well as the 100-day moving average.</p>\n<p>Further, the 10-day moving average is acting as resistance. It rejected Apple last week, leading to a brief weekly-down rotation this week. For now, it’s resistance again on Wednesday.</p>\n<p>On the upside, the 10-day moving average is the short-term line in the sand. While sellers may be in control, that doesn’t have to last.</p>\n<p>If Apple can reclaim this mark, it quickly opens up the $124.50 to $126.75 range. In that area, the stock finds its 100-day and 21-day moving averages, the 61.8% retracement and prior support from January that turned to resistance in March.</p>\n<p>Above this zone puts $130 and the 50-day moving average in play, followed a possible move back to $138. When Apple gets moving, it can really rally in a hurry.</p>\n<p>On the downside, the outlook is pretty clear. Keep an eye on this week’s low at $116.21 and the 200-day moving average. The 10-year briefly touched an intraday peak around 1.539%.</p>\n<p>The 30-year bond yield&nbsp;gained 6.1 basis points to 2.303% to notch its own 52-week peak amid six straight days of gains.</p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the 2-year note rate&nbsp;advanced 4.1 basis points to 0.166%, logging its sharpest one-day rise since April 6, 2020. The short-dated debt has climbed five straight sessions, matching its longest string of successive rate rises since the period ended Nov. 3.</p>\n<p>Separately, the 5-year Treasury note&nbsp;yield picked 18.7 basis points to 0.799%—the largest one day gain since Dec. 7, 2010.</p>\n<p>Bond prices fall as yields rise.</p>\n<p>For the week, the 10-year and 30-year bonds are on pace for their biggest weekly moves since Jan. 8, while the 2-year yield was on track for its sharpest weekly rate climb since June 5, 2020.</p>\n<p>For the month, the 5-year and 10-year are on track for their biggest monthly advance since 2016, while the 30-year is on track for the biggest monthly yield climb since 2009, according to Tradeweb data.</p>\n<p>The 2-year was on pace for its sharpest monthly rise since 2019.</p>\n<p><b>What’s driving Treasurys?</b></p>\n<p>The combination of a recovering U.S. economy, thanks to COVID vaccination efforts, trillions in fiscal relief and accommodative monetary policy, are expected to deliver the kind of inflation that hasn’t been seen since the 2008 financial crisis.</p>\n<p>That fact has partly added to a selloff in bonds and commensurate rise in yields that has filtered through the broader market.</p>\n<p>On top of that, some strategist said Thursday’s powerful yield surge could also be attributed to investors being caught offsides and being forced to close their bullish positions on Treasury futures, in turn, pushing rates higher.</p>\n<p>Even before yields took fuller flight on Thursday, Australian, New Zealand, and European government bonds were weakening, with some of the bearish pressure bleeding into the U.S. Treasury bond market.</p>\n<p>One of the big fears in the market is that the rate rise unravels the easy-lending conditions fostered by central banks, raising questions whether monetary policy makers will lean against the selloff.</p>\n<p>The 10-year German government bond yield&nbsp;was up 7.3 basis points to negative 0.22%, while the 10-year Australian bond rate&nbsp;shot up 12 basis points higher to around 1.73%.</p>\n<p>Senior Federal Reserve officials including&nbsp;Kansas Fed President Esther George&nbsp;and&nbsp;St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said&nbsp;on Thursday said they aren’t perturbed by the recent run-up in yields, which may also be off-putting to skittish investors.</p>\n<p>Fed Chairman Jerome Powell in semiannual congressional testimony said this week that higher bond rates reflect improving economic prospects, suggesting further action from the Fed may not be forthcoming.</p>\n<p>Investors also faced a parade of economic data. The 10-year briefly touched an intraday peak around 1.539%.\nThe 30-year bond yield gained 6.1 basis points to 2.303% to notch its own 52-week peak amid six straight days of gains.\nMeanwhile, the 2-year note rate advanced 4.1 basis points to 0.166%, logging its sharpest one-day rise since April 6, 2020. approach Pfizer-BioNTech and that EU governments backed the plan, though there was not yet a definitive approval.</p>\n<p>A Commission spokesman confirmed plans to buy the additional doses, of which half would be optional.</p>\n<p>He also confirmed that the EU executive had already identified one supplier, a manufacturer of mRNA vaccines, but declined to comment on which company would be approached to negotiate the contract.</p>\n<p>“If provided the opportunity Pfizer and BioNTech are prepared to supply Europe with hundreds of millions of doses of COVID vaccines in 2022 and 2023 produced in our manufacturing facilities in Europe,” a Pfizer spokesman said.</p>\n<p>The two companies have the capacity to produce more than 3 billion doses of vaccine in 2022, he see a huge spike in advance of the run-up of the stock yesterday,” Zhen said.\nThinknum launched its Reddit-focused dataset after January’s GameStop frenzy.\n\nMentions of GameStop increased on Reddit days before shares of the video-game retailer took off again, according to Justin Zhen, co-founder of Thinknum, a tech firm that compiles alternative data sets for investors.\nIn the last 24 hours, we saw the number of occurrences of mentions for GameStop spike. It actually started spiking about four days ago,” Zhen said in an interview Thursday on CNBC’s“The Exchange.”\n“The volume today has been insane, but we see a huge spike in advance of the run-up of the stock yesterday,” he said.\nZhen was referencing Wednesday’s major late-day gain in GameStop shares, which ultimately closed higher by more than 100%.The stock rallied further during Thursday’s volatile session and was halted multiple times. It ended up closing Thursday at $108.73 per share, up 18.6%. It had reached as high as $184.68 intraday.\nThe sudden surge followed news Tuesday that the company’s chief financial officer, Jim Bell, plans to resign in late March. Media reports suggested the departure could be linked to board member Ryan Cohen’s desire to see GameStop accelerate its digital transformation.\nThe stock’s big two-day move puzzled some on Wall Street, and CNBC’s Jim Cramer contended earlier Thursday that a CFO shakeup is unlikely to be a catalyst for such a significant rally. Whatever the cause, the GameStop resurgence calls to mind the Reddit-sparked trading mania that first engulfed the stock in January, when it soared to $483 per share.\n“What happened with GameStop when it went to $480 was one of the dumbest, most nonsensical things that I’ve seen in quite some time. Fred Ehrsam, a Coinbase director, also helped to create the company.</p>\n<p>There are two class of Coinbase shares. Armstrong owns 11% of the Class A shares and 22% of the Class B shares, while Ehrsam owns 11.4% of the Class A and 9% of the Class B.</p>\n<p>According to Forbes, Armstrong’s networth is currently $6.5 billion based on his ownership in the company, which is likely to increase if the direct listing goes off successfully.</p>\n<p>Coinbase bills itself as a bet on the rapidly growing cryptoeconomy, which starts with the No. 1 crypto asset bitcoin but goes well beyond that, Armstrong and company argue.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/67e611f71f8557b80e1863da93d753c9\" tg-width=\"1260\" tg-height=\"639\"><span>COINBASE S-1</span></p>\n<p>Bitcoin prices&nbsp;have gained attention as it has soared to repeated records, most recently touching a recent peak above $58,000 over the weekend before beginning to give up some gains in recent trade.</p>\n<p>Last week, bitcoin hit a market value of $1 trillion and even though the asset created by a person or persons known as Satoshi Nakamoto represents about 70% of the total crypto market, there are still a number of other popular crypto assets trading on Coinbase, including ether&nbsp;on Ethereum’s blockchain, Bitcoin Cash&nbsp;and Litecoin,to name a few.</p>\n<p><b>Who else owns Coinbase?</b></p>\n<p>Venture-capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, is the largest owner of Coinbase, boasting about 25% of Class A shares and14% of Class B. And Marc Andreessen, head of the venture capital outfit, sits on Coinbase’s board.</p>\n<p>Coinbase has an ambitions echo those of Robinhood Markets</p>\n<p>“Coinbase is company with an ambitious vision: to create more economic freedom for every person and business,” Armstrong wrote in a letter appended to the company’s public-filing paperwork with the SEC.</p>\n<p><b>Biggest risk factor</b></p>\n<p>No doubt the biggest risk factor in Coinbase is that it is a bet on an unproven asset class that was created just over a decade ago. Coinbase attempts to make it clear that its fate is linked to the prospects for Bitcoin and ethereum and the thousands of other alternative coins that have been written into existence.</p>\n<p>But a decline in interest and tough regulations in the U.S. and elsewhere could wallop the exchange platform.</p>\n<p>Here’s now Coinbase explains it:</p>\n<p>“<i>There is no assurance that any supported crypto asset will maintain its value or that there will be meaningful levels of trading activities. In the event that the price of crypto assets or the demand for trading crypto assets decline, our business, operating results, and financial condition would be adversely affected. A majority of our net revenue is from transactions in Bitcoin and ethereum. If demand for these crypto assets declines and is not replaced by new demand for crypto assets, our business, operating results, and financial condition could be adversely affected</i>,” Coinbase writes in its S-1 filing.</p>\n<p><b>How large is Coinbase?</b></p>\n<p>The crypto exchange platform ranks No. 3 among the largest digital asset exchanges in the world, according to data site CoinMarketCap.com. That ranking puts it behind Binance, based in Seattle and Huobi Global, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in China.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/183f3996adecd36a47a1b191cf6d3ca6\" tg-width=\"1260\" tg-height=\"453\"><span>COINMARKETCAP.COM</span></p>\n<p>In the U.S. Coinbase is by far the most well-known crypto platform but there are competitors, including Gemini, run by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who famously used their Facebook Inc.&nbsp;settlements to invest in bitcoins.</p>\n<p>Kraken is another popular crypto platform and direct competitor in the U.S.</p>\n<p><b>Odds &amp; Ends</b></p>\n<p>The company in its public filing offered a number of homages to the founder or founders of bitcoin and the digital currency age in its submission.</p>\n<p>For example, it listed the genesis block associated with Satoshi Nakamoto at “1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa,” whose white paper back in 2008 set bitcoin in motion. (Additionally, a “Satoshi” is the smallest unit of bitcoin—0.00000001 BTC).</p>\n<p>The company offers no physical address for its headquarters in California, citing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced a number of companies to have most, if not all, of its staffers work remotely. For that reason, Coinbase refers to itself as “a remote-first company.”</p>\n<p>However, having no address to some was viewed as aligning with the decentralized nature of blockchain and bitcoins.</p>\n<p>The company also offered a handy primer on cryptocurrency terms, including defining terms like “hodl,” which have become popular in crypto circles.
