These stocks could make moves.","content":"

Spring is in the air, and investors are looking forward to turning the page after a rocky March.

While stocks have recovered from a surprise banking crisis after Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank both failed, their collapses highlighted yet another risk investors are facing in the potential for more bank runs and elevated duration risk.

April will bring the start of a new earnings season and, with it, the latest evidence of how corporate America is faring in a slowing economy. On that note, here are three stocks you'll want to watch in April.

1. Netflix

A lot has changed with Netflix (NFLX) in just a few months. The leading streamer launched an ad tier in November, which only had a marginal effect on its performance in the fourth quarter and is expected to serve as a complement to the free tier rather than the main growth driver this year. Bloomberg reported in March that the company had reached 1 million ad-based subscribers, a sign that the program is gaining traction, even though that constitutes just a fraction of its more than 200 million members.

In addition, the company is stepping up its password crackdown efforts, which should help improve profitability by goading password sharers into signing up for their own accounts or signing up as paid add-on members.

The company is also accelerating its push into gaming, with 40 new games set to be launched this year, according to TechCrunch. Like its ad tier, the financial impact of its gaming push is expected to be marginal for now, but it could build momentum over the long term.

Analysts are expecting just 4% revenue growth and a decline in earnings per share in the quarter, giving Netflix the opportunity to surprise to the upside, especially if any of these initiatives pay off.

2. Microsoft

Since the launch of OpenAI's ChatGPT last November, Microsoft (MSFT) has been moving fast to incorporate the new AI chatbot technology into a wide range of products, including its Azure cloud infrastructure service, GitHub CoPilot, its Office software suite, its Edge web browser, and, of course, its Bing search engine.

Microsoft is so confident in its partnership with OpenAI that it invested $10 billion in the tech start-up earlier this year, and we could see some more announcements from Microsoft on artificial intelligence.

The company opened up the new ChatGPT-powered Bing in February to select users, and investors are probably wondering when that user base is going to be expanded to the general public.

Microsoft has already made it clear it sees a tremendous opportunity in search. CEO Satya Nadella called it the world's biggest software category, and CFO Amy Hood noted that each incremental percentage point of market share represents nearly $2 billion in additional revenue.

Whether the public launch of the new Bing comes in April remains to be seen, but the company should provide more details in its first-quarter earnings report at the end of the month.

Microsoft's revenue growth has ground to a halt along with the rest of the big tech sector, but another push in AI would probably push the stock higher.

3. Meta Platforms

Another big tech stock that's been making headlines lately is Meta Platforms (META). The Facebook parent was the first of the big tech companies to announce major layoffs in November, and it followed that up with another round of layoffs in March. Combined, the two announcements will cut about 21,000 jobs, or roughly 25% of the company's workforce.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been talking up the idea of a "year of efficiency," promising that Meta will sharpen its focus on profitability after years of making growth the highest priority. In addition to the layoffs, the company said it will stop hiring for 5,000 jobs.

Altogether, those moves should help get Meta's bottom line moving in the right direction again, and investors have taken notice. On that note, here are three stocks you'll want to watch in April.1. NetflixA lot has changed with Netflix (NFLX) in just a few months. Like its ad tier, the financial impact of its gaming push is expected to be marginal for now, but it could build momentum over the long term.Analysts are expecting just 4% revenue growth and a decline in earnings per share in the quarter, giving Netflix the opportunity to surprise to the upside, especially if any of these initiatives pay off.2. MicrosoftSince the launch of OpenAI's ChatGPT last November, Microsoft (MSFT) has been moving fast to incorporate the new AI chatbot technology into a wide range of products, including its Azure cloud infrastructure service, GitHub CoPilot, its Office software suite, its Edge web browser, and, of course, its Bing search engine.Microsoft is so confident in its partnership with OpenAI that it invested $10 billion in the tech start-up earlier this year, and we could see some more announcements from Microsoft on artificial intelligence. 3. Meta PlatformsAnother big tech stock that's been making headlines lately is Meta Platforms (META). The Facebook parent was the first of the big tech companies to announce major layoffs in November, and it followed that up with another round of layoffs in March. Combined, the two announcements will cut about 21,000 jobs, or roughly 25% of the company's workforce.CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been talking up the idea of a \"year of efficiency,\" promising that Meta will sharpen its focus on profitability after years of making growth the highest priority. In addition to the layoffs, the company said it will stop hiring for 5,000 jobs. Altogether, those moves should help get Meta's bottom line moving in the right direction again, and investors have taken notice. The stock has doubled since it bottomed out following October's third-quarter earnings report.Meta also launched its own large language model, LLaMa, staking its claim in the AI race. LLaMa isn't a chatbot, but a tool designed to help researchers. It could pave the way to more consumer-facing AI products in search and other areas.Meta is also expected to report first-quarter earnings at the end of April, and while analysts are expecting another weak quarter, the company's guidance will be key to determining the stock's reaction, as the cost-cutting is likely to lead to a return to earnings growth.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":286,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9080710149,"gmtCreate":1649916038350,"gmtModify":1676534606738,"author":{"id":"3574845031993338","authorId":"3574845031993338","name":"Mysteryboi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ea9fdbf543ac0b120c1dad055bba8b0b","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574845031993338","authorIdStr":"3574845031993338"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a The challenge can be sorting out which stocks are likely to continue falling versus those that are likely to bounce back. But if you're looking at the long term, it may not be difficult to find some promising gems out there.

Last month, the S&P 500 had its worst month since the start of the pandemic, falling by more than 5%. Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF), Western Digital (NASDAQ:WDC), and Upstart Holdings (NASDAQ:UPST) performed even worse, declining by more than 20%. Here's why, despite their rough starts to the year, they could make for terrific buys today.

1. Trulieve Cannabis

Shares of pot producer Trulieve Cannabis sank 24% in January. The decline sent the stock to lows not seen since October 2020. A big reason why the stock looks to be a solid buy right now, however, is that it and rival Curaleaf Holdings are the top companies in the cannabis industry.

Last year, Trulieve acquired Arizona-based producer Harvest Health & Recreation, and together, for the three-month period ending Sept. 30, 2021, they combined for revenue of $316 million and an adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) profit of $121 million. Curaleaf, by comparison, reported sales of just over $317 million for the same period, but its adjusted EBITDA was much lower at $71 million.

Curaleaf trades at a higher premium, with a price-to-sales multiple of 4.6 versus just 3.6 for Trulieve. It's a modest difference, but you could argue that a stronger bottom line from Trulieve should garner a better multiple. The business is now more diverse with Harvest Health in the mix, and better earnings could set the company up for more acquisitions to take advantage of the fast-growing cannabis industry. Analysts from Markets and Markets expect the industry as a whole will grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28% until 2026, when it may be worth more than $90 billion globally.

Trulieve is a promising stock to own after an abysmal January, and could be a diamond in the rough for investors willing to buy and hold.

2. Western Digital

Western Digital stock had a slightly better January than Trulieve, but it too fell by a relatively steep 21%. It's a surprising performance given that the company's second-quarter earnings, which it released on Jan. 27, looked strong. Sales of $4.8 billion for the period ending Dec. 31, 2021 were up 23% year-over-year, and its cloud business generated revenue growth of 89%. The company notes that it achieved this while dealing with supply chain disruptions.

The future is undoubtedly in the cloud, and Western Digital and its portable drives and technology make it easy for people to work from home and businesses to digitize their operations. The market for global digital transformation, which includes utilizing more connected devices, will grow at a CAGR of 23.6% until 2028, according to estimates from Grand View Research.

Western Digital's stock trades at a modest forward price-to-earnings ratio of just 6.3 -- nearly half the size of rival Seagate, where investors are paying more than 12 times its future profits. Several brokerages project that Western Digital could rise to more than $70 per share, which would be at least a 35% increase in value from the $52 it trades at today.

3. Upstart Holdings

Upstart Holdings crashed by 28% last month, performing the worst of the stocks on this list. However, it's also the fastest-growing; in its most recently released quarterly results for the period ending Sept. 30, 2021, the company's sales of $228 million rose by 250% from the prior-year period. The company, which looks to revolutionize the lending business through its artificial intelligence platform and utilization of 1,000+ data points to assess creditworthiness, is a disruptor in the financial services industry, with the potential to generate significant returns in the long run.

What impresses me the most about the business is that, in addition to some incredible growth numbers, Upstart also generates impressive margins. Over its past three quarters, the company has generated an operating profit of $80.5 million, or 15% of its total sales of $543.7 million. The challenge can be sorting out which stocks are likely to continue falling versus those that are likely to bounce back. But if you're looking at the long term, it may not be difficult to find some promising gems out there.Last month, the S&P 500 had its worst month since the start of the pandemic, falling by more than 5%. Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF), Western Digital (NASDAQ:WDC), and Upstart Holdings (NASDAQ:UPST) performed even worse, declining by more than 20%. Here's why, despite their rough starts to the year, they could make for terrific buys today.Image source: Getty Images.1. Trulieve CannabisShares of pot producer Trulieve Cannabis sank 24% in January. The decline sent the stock to lows not seen since October 2020. A big reason why the stock looks to be a solid buy right now, however, is that it and rival Curaleaf Holdings are the top companies in the cannabis industry.Last year, Trulieve acquired Arizona-based producer Harvest Health & Recreation, and together, for the three-month period ending Sept. 30, 2021, they combined for revenue of $316 million and an adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) profit of $121 million. Curaleaf, by comparison, reported sales of just over $317 million for the same period, but its adjusted EBITDA was much lower at $71 million.Curaleaf trades at a higher premium, with a price-to-sales multiple of 4.6 versus just 3.6 for Trulieve. It's a modest difference, but you could argue that a stronger bottom line from Trulieve should garner a better multiple. The business is now more diverse with Harvest Health in the mix, and better earnings could set the company up for more acquisitions to take advantage of the fast-growing cannabis industry. Analysts from Markets and Markets expect the industry as a whole will grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28% until 2026, when it may be worth more than $90 billion globally.Trulieve is a promising stock to own after an abysmal January, and could be a diamond in the rough for investors willing to buy and hold.2. Western DigitalWestern Digital stock had a slightly better January than Trulieve, but it too fell by a relatively steep 21%. The market for global digital transformation, which includes utilizing more connected devices, will grow at a CAGR of 23.6% until 2028, according to estimates from Grand View Research.Western Digital's stock trades at a modest forward price-to-earnings ratio of just 6.3 -- nearly half the size of rival Seagate, where investors are paying more than 12 times its future profits. Several brokerages project that Western Digital could rise to more than $70 per share, which would be at least a 35% increase in value from the $52 it trades at today.3. Upstart HoldingsUpstart Holdings crashed by 28% last month, performing the worst of the stocks on this list. With a relatively young company (it went public in December 2020), investors normally expect growth but not a whole lot in terms of profitability. And yet Upstart has posted a profit in each of its last four quarters, averaging a profit margin of more than 12% in the trailing 12 months. It isn't a cheap stock by any stretch, trading at more than 43 times its future earnings (investors are paying a multiple of 27 for popular fintech stock PayPal), but that number will come down if Upstart can keep building off this impressive growth. Snowflake

As a cloud software-as-a-service stock that trades at lofty price-to-sales multiple,Snowflake (NYSE:SNOW) is one of the more unusual companies in the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio. While the investment conglomerate has gradually been shifting more of its portfolio weight toward the technology sector, it's still pretty eye-catching to see Buffett get behind a company that trades at roughly 83 times this year's expected sales.

It's clear that the Oracle of Omaha and the investment team at Berkshire see something special in the data warehousing and analytics player. Snowflake's platform allows data to be gathered and analyzed from otherwise walled-off sources, enabling applications to have quick and easy access to a much wider spectrum of valuable information. The company offers category-leading service in its niche, and with more customers joining its platform and bringing along valuable data, it's benefiting from a network effect that could produce a powerful long-term moat.

4. Amazon

Perhaps more so than any other company,Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) is built to win the future. The company's core e-commerce and cloud infrastructure businesses look poised for strong growth over the long term as these industries continue to grow, and its core business pillars should provide the foundation for new growth bets that help the company continue to expand.

With a market cap of more than $1.6 trillion, Amazon is already a massive company, but it still has plenty of room for growth over the long term. The company's strength in e-commerce and cloud services has helped it rapidly build its position in the digital advertising market, and Amazon's excellent collection of resources and proven penchant for innovation suggest that it will be able to continue scoring wins in new categories that drive growth and complement its existing businesses.

5. Berkshire Hathaway

If you want to invest like Buffett, why limit yourself to picking just a handful of stocks in the Berkshire portfolio? Particularly when you can buy shares in Berkshire Hathaway directly and get exposure to all of the stocks in the company's portfolio, its subsidiaries, and its real estate, insurance, and energy businesses. In addition to Apple, Verizon, Amazon, and Snowflake, Berkshire Hathaway also owns substantial stakes in companies including Bank of America,American Express,Coca-Cola, and other industry-leading names.

Even after buying back more than $20 billion worth of its own stock last year, the investment conglomerate has a massive pool of resources and ended its third quarter with a record $149 billion in cash on the books. Owning Berkshire Hathaway stock means that when Buffett and his team of analysts go shopping with that money, your own portfolio gets exposure to those buys before they're made known to the public.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Got $3,000? 5 Buffett Stocks to Buy and Hold Forever
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nGot $3,000? 5 Buffett Stocks to Buy and Hold Forever\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-20 15:23 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Warren Buffett stands atop the pantheon of history's most successful investors. The company offers category-leading service in its niche, and with more customers joining its platform and bringing along valuable data, it's benefiting from a network effect that could produce a powerful long-term moat.4. AmazonPerhaps more so than any other company,Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) is built to win the future. The company's strength in e-commerce and cloud services has helped it rapidly build its position in the digital advertising market, and Amazon's excellent collection of resources and proven penchant for innovation suggest that it will be able to continue scoring wins in new categories that drive growth and complement its existing businesses.5. Berkshire HathawayIf you want to invest like Buffett, why limit yourself to picking just a handful of stocks in the Berkshire portfolio? Particularly when you can buy shares in Berkshire Hathaway directly and get exposure to all of the stocks in the company's portfolio, its subsidiaries, and its real estate, insurance, and energy businesses. In addition to Apple, Verizon, Amazon, and Snowflake, Berkshire Hathaway also owns substantial stakes in companies including Bank of America,American Express,Coca-Cola, and other industry-leading names.Even after buying back more than $20 billion worth of its own stock last year, the investment conglomerate has a massive pool of resources and ended its third quarter with a record $149 billion in cash on the books. Owning Berkshire Hathaway stock means that when Buffett and his team of analysts go shopping with that money, your own portfolio gets exposure to those buys before they're made known to the public.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":154,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9014346268,"gmtCreate":1649627643782,"gmtModify":1676534537842,"author":{"id":"3574845031993338","authorId":"3574845031993338","name":"Mysteryboi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ea9fdbf543ac0b120c1dad055bba8b0b","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574845031993338","authorIdStr":"3574845031993338"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AEM HOLDINGS LTD(AWX.SI)$New week new green!!đđ","listText":"$AEM HOLDINGS LTD(AWX.SI)$New week new green!!đđ","text":"$AEM HOLDINGS LTD(AWX.SI)$New week new green!!đđ","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/1425ddb34056de6a3ce5f1ee0dc62960","width":"1170","height":"2292"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9014346268","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":239,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9096994372,"gmtCreate":1644279044337,"gmtModify":1676533907075,"author":{"id":"3574845031993338","authorId":"3574845031993338","name":"Mysteryboi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ea9fdbf543ac0b120c1dad055bba8b0b","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574845031993338","authorIdStr":"3574845031993338"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"This is one of the saddest newsđđ","listText":"This is one of the saddest newsđđ","text":"This is one of the saddest newsđđ","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9096994372","repostId":"1124943717","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1124943717","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1644278512,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1124943717?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-08 08:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"SoftBankâs $66bn sale of chip group Arm to Nvidia collapses","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1124943717","media":"Financial Times","summary":"SoftBankâs $66bn sale of UK-based chip business Arm to Nvidia collapsed on Monday after regulators i","content":"

SoftBankâs $66bn sale of UK-based chip business Arm to Nvidia collapsed on Monday after regulators in the US, UK and EU raised serious concerns about its effects on competition in the global semiconductor industry, according to three people with direct knowledge of the transaction.

The deal, the largest ever in the chip sector, would have given California-based Nvidia control of a company that makes technology at the heart of most of the worldâs mobile devices. Lululemon

Since February 2017, Lululemon's stock has soared 390%, an outstanding investment if you got in at that time. This performance can be attributed to Lululemon's impressive sales and profit growth of 166% and 175%, respectively, over the past five years. Expanding the store footprint, now at 552 locations, also helped.

This burgeoning apparel brand sports a better gross margin, at 57.2%, than industry leader Nike. A higher metric generally indicates customers' propensity to pay premium prices for a company's products. In Lululemon's case, having a strong direct-to-consumer presence -- a channel that represented 40% of sales in the most recent quarter -- is crucial for brand relevance.

The business first gained popularity as a seller of yoga pants to women, but it has now become a major men's outfitter. Diversification of revenue sources is a positive sign.

Lululemon shares have lost 30% in value over the past three months as the threat of higher interest rates negatively impacts high-multiple, high-growth stocks. Netflix

This top streaming stock reported fourth-quarter 2021 financial results on Jan. 20 that disappointed investors. Management guided to 2.5 million net new subscribers in the current quarter, far less than the 6.9 million Wall Street was expecting. But despite the stock being down 17% since that announcement, Netflix has been a massive winner, rising 200% over the past five years.

Quarterly membership growth has certainly been irregular and unpredictable after the pandemic started in the spring of 2020, but the secular shift away from traditional cable TV and toward streaming is not going away. According to data from S&P Global, there were 1.1 billion households worldwide with a cable TV subscription in 2020. This means that Netflix, with its 221.8 million customers today, still has a large runway for expansion in the years ahead.

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, through his firm Pershing Square Capital Management, took advantage of the market souring on Netflix by scooping up 3.1 million shares. That's a great endorsement for why you might want to consider owning Netflix stock as well.

3. PayPal

Another major historical winner is fintech behemoth PayPal. Its stock has climbed 379% since the business was spun off from eBay in July 2015. PayPal has long been a pioneer in the digital payments space, and it now counts an impressive 426 million active accounts, of which 34 million are merchants.

I think there are three main factors that make PayPal a special business. For starters, the company's brand exemplifies a relentless focus on security and ease of use. These characteristics, along with massive scale to the tune of $1.25 trillion in total payment volume in 2021, are probably why e-commerce giant Amazon chose to partner with PayPal's Venmo starting this year.

Additionally, PayPal possesses remarkable financial metrics. In 2021, the company's non-generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) operating margin of 24.8% was stellar. And the business continued to prove that it's a cash machine, generating $5.4 billion in free cash flow during the 12-month period.

Lastly, the company is not done growing. Although Amazonâs quarterly guidance missed analystsâ expectations, investors were optimistic about its fast-growing business units like cloud computing.Facebook parent Meta, on the other hand, set a record on Thursday for biggest single-day trading loss on a U.S. exchange when its market cap plummeted over $230 billion. The social media giantâs wipe-out beat the previous record set in September 2020 by Apple, whose market cap tumbled $182 billion.Metaâs market cap decimation came a day after it reported poor earnings that spooked investors who were concerned about its stagnant user growth and increased competition from companies like TikTok.Indeed, while Meta said that Appleâs privacy changes to iOS had hurt its core online ad business, competitor Snap, the parent of Snapchat, revealed during its quarterly earnings this week that its business is rebounding more quickly than it expected from the same issue.Appleâs iOS changes made it more difficult for companies like Meta and Snap to target online ads to users. In response to its good news, Snap shares surged nearly 60% on Friday, underscoring investor optimism.Meanwhile, Netflixâs continues to have a hard time, with its shares dropping nearly 20% in a single day in January after it reported slowing subscriber growth during its most quarter. And Pelotonâs shares rose 26% in after-hours trading on Friday after the Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon was interested in acquiring the struggling exercise equipment maker.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":134,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9009250640,"gmtCreate":1640701797939,"gmtModify":1676533535017,"author":{"id":"3574845031993338","authorId":"3574845031993338","name":"Mysteryboi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ea9fdbf543ac0b120c1dad055bba8b0b","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574845031993338","authorIdStr":"3574845031993338"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a It really shouldnât be. The market has already declared a victory in the electric vehicle transition. Still, the math behind that kind of market share shift and growth is something to behold.

âMost auto investors we speak with still struggle with the idea that Tesla could ever be bigger than either GM or Ford,â wrote Jonas in a report published Thursday.

But Jonas doesnât find the idea hard to grasp, at all. In fact, he believes Tesla sales will be larger that GM plus Ford by 2027.

There is one catch with his thought experiment. Tesla will be bigger than both on a ârun-rateâ basis â essentially annualizing whatever data is most recent. Tesla, for instance, sold roughly 309,000 cars in the fourth quarter of 2021. Using Jonasâ math, the EV pioneer is producing cars at a run-rate of roughly 1.24 million units.

Teslaâs fourth-quarter sales came in at roughly $25 billion, putting its run-rate sales at $100 billion or so. GMâs amounted to $33.5 billion, or an annual run rate of about $134 billion. And Fordâs came in at $37.7 billion,or an annual run rate of about $151 billion.

For January, Jonas calculates Tesla had 4% of the dollar value of U.S. sales and he estimates the companyâs share of unit sales was about 3.5%. Teslaâs vehicles are more expensive than the average vehicle.

By the end of 2026, Jonas figures Tesla will have 10% unit share of the U.S. market. His estimates for GM and Ford unit share are roughly 14% and 11%, respectively. Tesla will still have higher average selling prices by then.

Put it all together and Jonas projects run rate sales for Tesla at the end of 2026 at about $300 billion. GM and Ford should still be stuck around $150 billion each.

For Jonasâ clients, heâd better be right. Tesla is already priced like itâs going to win market share. Its sales might still trail GM and Ford, the Tesla dwarfs every other auto maker on one key metric: market capitalization.

Teslaâs market cap is roughly $900 billion, which is roughly six times the combined market value of GM and Ford.

With a disparity like that, Tesla will need to keep growing in 2027 and beyond. Jonas definitely sees that happening. It really shouldnât be. The market has already declared a victory in the electric vehicle transition. Still, the math behind that kind of market share shift and growth is something to behold.âMost auto investors we speak with still struggle with the idea that Tesla could ever be bigger than either GM or Ford,â wrote Jonas in a report published Thursday.But Jonas doesnât find the idea hard to grasp, at all. In fact, he believes Tesla sales will be larger that GM plus Ford by 2027.There is one catch with his thought experiment. Tesla will be bigger than both on a ârun-rateâ basis â essentially annualizing whatever data is most recent. Tesla, for instance, sold roughly 309,000 cars in the fourth quarter of 2021. Using Jonasâ math, the EV pioneer is producing cars at a run-rate of roughly 1.24 million units.Teslaâs fourth-quarter sales came in at roughly $25 billion, putting its run-rate sales at $100 billion or so. GMâs amounted to $33.5 billion, or an annual run rate of about $134 billion. And Fordâs came in at $37.7 billion,or an annual run rate of about $151 billion.For January, Jonas calculates Tesla had 4% of the dollar value of U.S. sales and he estimates the companyâs share of unit sales was about 3.5%. Teslaâs vehicles are more expensive than the average vehicle.By the end of 2026, Jonas figures Tesla will have 10% unit share of the U.S. market. His estimates for GM and Ford unit share are roughly 14% and 11%, respectively. Tesla will still have higher average selling prices by then.Put it all together and Jonas projects run rate sales for Tesla at the end of 2026 at about $300 billion. GM and Ford should still be stuck around $150 billion each.For Jonasâ clients, heâd better be right. Tesla is already priced like itâs going to win market share. Its sales might still trail GM and Ford, the Tesla dwarfs every other auto maker on one key metric: market capitalization.Teslaâs market cap is roughly $900 billion, which is roughly six times the combined market value of GM and Ford.With a disparity like that, Tesla will need to keep growing in 2027 and beyond. Jonas definitely sees that happening. He has Tesla âshare of wallet,â which is essentially unit share times average pricing, to 23% of the U.S. market by the end of the decade.On Friday, Tesla stock rose 3.6% closing at $923.32. The S&P 500 rose 0.5%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1%.Right now, Wall Street is seriously wondering what Jonas could be thinking. If he is right, his clients wonât only be happy. Theyâll be having the last laugh.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":47,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
