Put simply, the company is facing more competition than ever before.</p>\n<p>As a final thought, in a recent 10-Q Filing with the SEC, AMC explained that it will need to reach 85% of pre-pandemic attendance levels by the fourth quarter of 2021 in order to comply with minimum liquidity requirements. If that doesn't happen, bankruptcy would likely be the next step, which means shareholders would \"suffer a total loss of their investment.\"</p>\n<h2>Cloudflare</h2>\n<p>Cloudflare is a cloud services provider. Its platform helps clients secure and accelerate the performance of websites and applications. For example, it recently launched Cloudflare One, a network-as-a-service solution designed to replace outdated corporate networks.</p>\n<p>Traditionally, enterprises have taken a castle-and-moat approach to network security. All sensitive data was stored in a central location, and firewall appliances and internet gateways&nbsp;were used to filter incoming and outgoing traffic. This was both costly and inefficient, often resulting in lag time for remote workers.</p>\n<p>By comparison, Cloudflare One acts as a secure access service edge&nbsp;(SASE). Rather than sending traffic through a central hub, SASE is a distributed network architecture. This means employees connect to Cloudflare's network, where traffic is filtered and security policies are enforced, then traffic is routed to the internet or the corporate network.</p>\n<p>This creates a fast, secure experience for employees, allowing them to access corporate resources and applications&nbsp;from any location, on any device. Moreover, according to research firm Gartner, 40%&nbsp;of enterprises will have plans to adopt SASE by 2024, up from just 1% in 2018. That radical shift gives Cloudflare a big opportunity.</p>\n<p>More importantly, the company is executing on that opportunity. Its previous closing record of $35.86 was reached in 2015, according to FactSet data.</p><p>AMC’s stock spiked as it hit an intraday high of $72.62, well above its previous intraday record of $36.72.</p><p>In a similar occurrence seen in January with the meme stocks like GameStop, defiant short-sellers have increased their bets against AMC shares over the last month, possibly fueling the move higher. About 18% of the AMC shares available for trading are still sold short through Wednesday, according to S3 Partners.</p><p>On Wednesday, short-sellers lost $2.8 billion as the stock surged, according to S3. That brings their year-to-date losses to more than $5 billion, according to S3.</p><p>Short sellers like hedge funds borrow the stock from an investment bank and sell it in the hopes of buying it back at a lower price and returning the shares, pocketing the difference. However, when a stock surges higher, a so-called short squeeze can occur where investors are forced to buy back the stock to cut their losses.</p><p>Trading was halted several times Wednesday as shares were up more than 100% at one point. At the end of the day, more than 710 million shares exchanged hands. That’s nearly double the number of AMC’s shares outstanding. The company’s 30-day average volume is just 143 million shares.</p><p>Retail investors — many active on Reddit’s WallStreetBets forum — led the AMC rally, and AMC executives have taken note. On Wednesday, the company announced a&nbsp;new portal to connect with individual investors&nbsp;and offered free popcorn, exclusive screenings and other perks to those who hold its stock.</p><p>JPMorgan noted that in the last week, retail order flow into AMC jumped to $583 million, 6.9 standard deviations above the average level of the last one year. According to their quantitative strategy, this kind of imbalance can lead to more outperformance by the stock in coming weeks.</p><p>AMC shares are up 2850% so far this year, bringing its market capitalization to more than $31 billion. That makes it worth more than stocks like Delta Air Lines, State Street and Best Buy.</p><p>Wednesday’s wild trading activity comes even after an investment firm reportedly sold off its stake in the company. On Tuesday, AMC revealed it&nbsp;sold 8.5 million newly issued shares to Mudrick Capital, the latest in a series of capital raises for the stock. The hedge fund later&nbsp;sold all of its AMC stock for a profitthat same day, according to&nbsp;Bloomberg News.</p><p>Most Wall Street analysts believe AMC shares will plummet eventually. AMC has raised $428 million to bolster the balance sheet. And luckily for AMC -- and thanks to all those daytrading momentum investors -- the market price for AMC stock is now nearly $14 a share, or about seven times the mere $2.01 a share it was fetching at the start of 2021.\nAnd one analyst believes AMC could even be worth more than $14.\nB. Riley analyst Eric Wold reiterated a Buy rating on AMC shares along with a $16 price target. This figure implies ~15% upside for the year ahead. (To view Wold's track record, click here) \nWold believes that AMC probably has enough cash that it won't need to raise any more \"before industry trends recover in 2022/2023\" -- although it still has the option \"to take strategic actions to improve the balance sheet further.\"\nIndeed, the analyst says AMC now has \"at least a one-year cash runway\" at current levels of movie attendance (and probably longer than that, given that attendance is improving).\nWold describes AMC's decision to raise cash this month as \"opportunistic\" rather than \"necessary,\" and notes that the company has taken other steps to bolster its balance sheet, including renegotiating its property lease terms to take into account diminished attendance at its theaters during the pandemic. At the same time, the analyst believes AMC has an \"improved cash flow outlook\" this year, predicting a \"box office recovery into year-end,\" which will yield more revenues to cover the company's expenses.\nAlready, says Wold, both New York and California, two of the biggest markets for movie-watching, have more or less eliminated capacity restrictions on theater attendance. And this lifting of restrictions coincides with the arrival of \"pent-up demand for moviegoing\" among viewers who've been essentially locked out of theaters for the past year. Wold describes the slate of blockbuster movies coming out this summer as \"impressive,\" and says the release dates for these films have \"begun to stabilize in recent weeks,\" which should make it easier to predict the box office hauls that AMC might anticipate as the year progresses.\nRunning the numbers, Wold estimates that U.S. box office numbers will be down 70% in Q2 2021 (relative to 2019 levels), but down only 35% in Q3 (the summer quarter), and down only 20% in Q4 (the winter quarter). In dollars and cents, the analyst says this should translate to nearly $2.5 billion in revenues this year, nearly doubling to $4.7 billion in 2022, and then growing about 15% to $5.4 billion in 2023. Despite reopening most of its treaters, the company reported a loss of $1.42 a share which is higher than the $1.31 expected by the analysts. The revenue stood at $148.3 million which is a huge decline from the first quarter in 2020 while the cash balance was $813 million.</p><p>Even before the pandemic, the company’s business was flat. Even if we assume that moviegoers head to the theatres in the coming quarter, we must not expect impressive sales or revenue numbers.</p><p>It may take the entire year for the company to report strong revenue numbers. Considering the current capacity restraints, it is hard to expect the company to generate higher revenue and sales.</p><p><b>Heavy dilution</b></p><p>To survive the pandemic, AMC Entertainment has been burning a significant amount of cash and it has raised the cash through dilution. It may work well for the company but is harming the shareholders.</p><p>The company had earlier proposed the issue of 500 shares but scrapped it for the year and is planning to issue another 43 million shares. The company has quadrupled the share count in 2020. With each dilution, shareholders are losing value and investors are losing interest in the company. If AMC continues todilute the shares, there will be fewer takers for AMC stock in the future because it is a no-win scenario for investors.</p><p><b>Stiff competition</b></p><p>One cannot deny the fact that AMC Entertainment has stiff competition to handle. With a surge in OTT platforms and changing preferences of consumers, the theatre chain may not enjoy full movie rights from studios. Several OTT platforms will be directly releasing movies without giving them a theatrical launch. Most of us are used to spending time at home and we have become accustomed to enjoying entertainment on our couches. ABM Industries</h2><p>Hardly the sort of sexy business many momentum investors seek out, <b>ABM Industries</b> (NYSE:ABM) is a leading janitorial services and facilities manager across commercial, technology, industrial, education, and aviation.</p><p>Founded in 1909 as a window washing company, ABM has over $6 billion in annual revenue from a diversified list of customers, yet it's that sort of mundane task completion that makes ABM an attractive investment in times of trouble.</p><p>Its long history also means it has survived and thrived through all kinds of market conditions, and while the COVID-19 pandemic did hurt its operations, there is also much greater awareness for the need for cleanliness and sanitation.</p><p>So although first-quarter revenue was down 7.5% year over year, adjusted profits of $68.3 million, or $1.01 per share, were more than 2.5 times greater than the $26.2 million, or $0.39 per share, it generated last year as clients took on more work orders and performed more profitable EnhancedClean jobs that include disinfection routines.</p><p>CEO Scott Salmirs said with the rollout of vaccines, ABM is looking forward to a time where \"post-pandemic normalcy will reflect a heightened sensitivity to health and hygiene.\"</p><p>ABM Industries pays a dividend of $0.76 per share that currently yields 1.5% annually, which it has paid every quarter since 1965 and has raised for over 50 years, putting it in that rare group of companies known as Dividend Kings.</p><p>Trading at just about seven times the free cash flow it produces, ABM Industries carries a deeply discounted valuation that ought to continue generating substantial returns for investors in good times and bad.</p><h2>2. Genuine Parts</h2><p>Auto parts retailer <b>Genuine Parts</b> (NYSE:GPC) could be primed to capitalize on any market collapse, because when times get tough, consumers hold on to the cars they already own and do repair jobs themselves, rather than buy new.</p><p>Genuine Parts, which owns the NAPA Auto Parts brand of retail stores and generates two-thirds of its revenue from automotive sales, is already facing potential gains as a computer chip shortage impacts not only the tech sector, but the automotive industry as well.</p><p>Car makers are shutting production for weeks at a time because they can't get the necessary components to build vehicles. That means annual car production is going to drop, and buyers just might decide holding on to their existing rust buckets is a better option.</p><p>The retailer saw first-quarter sales jump over 9% on a 4.6% gain in comparable-store sales, helping adjusted earnings shoot nearly 90% higher year over year. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the 3 reasons to avoid AMC stock.</p><p><b>Poor Fundamentals</b></p><p>AMC Entertainment recentlyreported the first quarter earnings&nbsp;and it incurred a loss of $567.2 million. Despite reopening most of its treaters, the company reported a loss of $1.42 a share which is higher than the $1.31 expected by the analysts. The revenue stood at $148.3 million which is a huge decline from the first quarter in 2020 while the cash balance was $813 million.</p><p>Even before the pandemic, the company’s business was flat. Even if we assume that moviegoers head to the theatres in the coming quarter, we must not expect impressive sales or revenue numbers.</p><p>It may take the entire year for the company to report strong revenue numbers. Considering the current capacity restraints, it is hard to expect the company to generate higher revenue and sales.</p><p><b>Heavy dilution</b></p><p>To survive the pandemic, AMC Entertainment has been burning a significant amount of cash and it has raised the cash through dilution. It may work well for the company but is harming the shareholders.</p><p>The company had earlier proposed the issue of 500 shares but scrapped it for the year and is planning to issue another 43 million shares. The company has quadrupled the share count in 2020. With each dilution, shareholders are losing value and investors are losing interest in the company. If AMC continues todilute the shares, there will be fewer takers for AMC stock in the future because it is a no-win scenario for investors.</p><p><b>Stiff competition</b></p><p>One cannot deny the fact that AMC Entertainment has stiff competition to handle. With a surge in OTT platforms and changing preferences of consumers, the theatre chain may not enjoy full movie rights from studios. Its biggest competition is with<b>Disney</b>&nbsp;(NYSE:<b><u>DIS</u></b>) who is making strong moves to continue using the Disney+ streaming service for new movies. It has entered into anagreement with Sonyfor the streaming of movies after the theatrical releases.</p><p>Consumers will be less willing to pay for a movie they can watch from the comfort of their homes. Several OTT platforms will be directly releasing movies without giving them a theatrical launch. Most of us are used to spending time at home and we have become accustomed to enjoying entertainment on our couches. Who would be willing to pay for a movie that is available at your home at your convenience?</p><p><b>The bottom line on AMC stock</b></p><p>If you are looking for a post-pandemic play, avoid AMC stock. There are several other options to consider.</p><p>Weak financials and changing consumer preferences make AMC a poor choice. The company will continue to face competition in the future, and will have to fight for a smaller number of customers to generate revenues. In fact, AMC had been falling since making all-time highs in the mid-$30s in 2015 and 2016.</p><p>The stock then slumped further due to the pandemic. Things began to change, however, when it rallied amid a short squeeze in late January 2021. The stock exploded from $2 to $20 in less than a month.</p><p>Now another short squeeze is under way, and the stock has risen from $9 to over $60 in the last month.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/dd994b6947e51ac1dd241aebc098785c\" tg-width=\"620\" tg-height=\"465\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>It is impossible to justify these moves in terms of fundamental or even technical analysis, but there are opportunities presented by the options markets. As might be expected, the options have gotten extremely expensive. The next chart is a <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a>-year, showing the<i>composite</i>implied volatility of AMC options on top and the price of the stock on the bottom. (Composite implied volatility is a weighted volatility of the most active options on AMC.)</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0833b40f70599f8f813f2c0eaa3a7c8b\" tg-width=\"620\" tg-height=\"466\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>The composite implied volatility has risen to more than 200%. (Don’t worry about what that means statistically, just use it as a comparative measure — 200% is a<i>lot</i>higher than the “normal” volatility, up to four times that of its pre-pandemic level.)</p><p>So, what option strategies make sense? Simply buying expensive options is justifiable while volatility remains high, believe it or not. The 10-day realized (historical) volatility of AMC is now an astounding 211%. The 20-day historical volatility (HV) is 160%.</p><p>However, those volatilities will drop quickly if the stock starts to stabilize — wherever that may be.&nbsp;But as long as they hold up, at-the-money options are not a lot more expensive than that, in terms of implied volatility. However,<i>out-of-the-money</i>options are much more expensive, and those are generally unattractive purchases — certainly not based on a statistical basis.</p><p>Many traders want to sell the options because they think they are so overpriced. Well, they may be overpriced, but at current volatility levels, the stock can move a great distance and cause ruin for an options-selling strategy.</p><p>One can see from the <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a>-year chart of AMC that after the last short squeeze, the stock dropped quickly, but never got back to the prices from which the short squeeze was launched. That is typical behavior in a short squeeze.</p><p>Consider the two following charts — of Riot BlockchainRIOT,+2.74%and GameStopGME,+13.34%— both of which have been short squeezes. Its previous closing record of $35.86 was reached in 2015, according to FactSet data.</p><p>AMC’s stock spiked as it hit an intraday high of $72.62, well above its previous intraday record of $36.72.</p><p>In a similar occurrence seen in January with the meme stocks like GameStop, defiant short-sellers have increased their bets against AMC shares over the last month, possibly fueling the move higher. About 18% of the AMC shares available for trading are still sold short through Wednesday, according to S3 Partners.</p><p>On Wednesday, short-sellers lost $2.8 billion as the stock surged, according to S3. That brings their year-to-date losses to more than $5 billion, according to S3.</p><p>Short sellers like hedge funds borrow the stock from an investment bank and sell it in the hopes of buying it back at a lower price and returning the shares, pocketing the difference. However, when a stock surges higher, a so-called short squeeze can occur where investors are forced to buy back the stock to cut their losses.</p><p>Trading was halted several times Wednesday as shares were up more than 100% at one point. At the end of the day, more than 710 million shares exchanged hands. That’s nearly double the number of AMC’s shares outstanding. The company’s 30-day average volume is just 143 million shares.</p><p>Retail investors — many active on Reddit’s WallStreetBets forum — led the AMC rally, and AMC executives have taken note. On Wednesday, the company announced a&nbsp;new portal to connect with individual investors&nbsp;and offered free popcorn, exclusive screenings and other perks to those who hold its stock.</p><p>JPMorgan noted that in the last week, retail order flow into AMC jumped to $583 million, 6.9 standard deviations above the average level of the last one year. According to their quantitative strategy, this kind of imbalance can lead to more outperformance by the stock in coming weeks.</p><p>AMC shares are up 2850% so far this year, bringing its market capitalization to more than $31 billion. That makes it worth more than stocks like Delta Air Lines, State Street and Best Buy.</p><p>Wednesday’s wild trading activity comes even after an investment firm reportedly sold off its stake in the company. On Tuesday, AMC revealed it&nbsp;sold 8.5 million newly issued shares to Mudrick Capital, the latest in a series of capital raises for the stock. The hedge fund later&nbsp;sold all of its AMC stock for a profitthat same day, according to&nbsp;Bloomberg News.</p><p>Most Wall Street analysts believe AMC shares will plummet eventually.
