At that time, three software updates were announced: the iOS 11, macOS High Sierra and tvOS. Also, hardware updates were unveiled, including the Mac, iPad and HomePod.</p>\n<p>Looking at the performance of Apple shares a week before until the end of the event, AAPL investors did not show much enthusiasm. The stock moved 3% lower, trading at that time at $37.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/186aecd588efc459ba0be3e423485612\" tg-width=\"818\" tg-height=\"281\"><span>Figure 2: AAPL 2017 chart.</span></p>\n<p><b>WWDC 2018: modest climb</b></p>\n<p>In 2018, WWDC was held from June 4 to June 8. iOS 12 was announced, and so were software updates for Mac and Watch. This time, there were no hardware announcements.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/01f8d4a6d1b8bb55730d84f348b32520\" tg-width=\"818\" tg-height=\"285\"><span>Figure 3: AAPL 2018 chart.</span></p>\n<p>From one week prior until the end of the event, WWDC 2018 may have brought optimism to investors, as shares climbed by 2%, trading at that time at nearly $48.</p>\n<p><b>WWDC 2019: the start of the ramp</b></p>\n<p>The 2019 conference was held from June 3 to June 7. iOS 13 and other software updates were announced for the Mac, Watch, TV and iPad. Apple also launched hardware updates on Mac.</p>\n<p>Apple stock behaved well, rising nearly 7% from a week before to the end of the event. In 2019, WWDC coincided with the beginning of a massive climb in AAPL share price that lasted until the end of the year.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f8e261dd232ee1779ea1d89a8ebd4dd7\" tg-width=\"818\" tg-height=\"280\"><span>Figure 4: AAPL 2019 chart.</span></p>\n<p><b>WWDC 2020: riding the recovery</b></p>\n<p>For the first time, the 2020 version of WWDC was held online because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference happened from June 22 to June 26. At that time, iOS 14 was announced, alongside iPad, Watch, TV and Mac software updates.The highlight of the event&nbsp;was the announced transition to custom ARM processors for Mac.</p>\n<p>The stock was rebounding from the COVID-19 stock market crash at that time. Looking back at the period between a week prior to and the end of the event, shares were up 3%.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6fa56b7f188ab147a30b9f13621f0024\" tg-width=\"814\" tg-height=\"281\"><span>Figure 5: AAPL 2020 chart.</span></p>\n<p><b>What history suggests</b></p>\n<p>It is hard to predict how Apple stock will behave in the near future. However, looking back at history, we can draw a few conclusions about AAPL share price behavior around WWDC in the last 5 years.</p>\n<p>Except for the 2017 conference, Apple caught an updraft around the WWDC weeks. Whether the performance is related to the event itself is a matter of interpretation.</p>\n<p><b>What to expect of WWDC 2021</b></p>\n<p>For this year’s WWDC, Apple will likely release the usual software updates. For investors, possible updates on the products and services front would be most meaningful.</p>\n<p>A possible successor for the M1 chip, a 27-inc Mac, a new MacBook Pro, updates on AR and VR technology and even hints about the Apple Car would certainly be highlights. Also, new hardware could be unveiled, but these announcements tend to be rare during the developers’ conference.\nToday, the Apple Maven looks back at the most recent WWDC events to check how the stock behaved prior to and immediately after the conference.\nBefore we dive in…\nKeep in mind that the Apple Maven will cover the event via live blog, starting at 9:45 a.m. Cupertino time (PDT), on June 7. At that time, three software updates were announced: the iOS 11, macOS High Sierra and tvOS. Also, hardware updates were unveiled, including the Mac, iPad and HomePod.\nLooking at the performance of Apple shares a week before until the end of the event, AAPL investors did not show much enthusiasm. The stock moved 3% lower, trading at that time at $37.\nFigure 2: AAPL 2017 chart.\nWWDC 2018: modest climb\nIn 2018, WWDC was held from June 4 to June 8. iOS 12 was announced, and so were software updates for Mac and Watch. This time, there were no hardware announcements.\nFigure 3: AAPL 2018 chart.\nFrom one week prior until the end of the event, WWDC 2018 may have brought optimism to investors, as shares climbed by 2%, trading at that time at nearly $48.\nWWDC 2019: the start of the ramp\nThe 2019 conference was held from June 3 to June 7. iOS 13 and other software updates were announced for the Mac, Watch, TV and iPad. Apple also launched hardware updates on Mac.\nApple stock behaved well, rising nearly 7% from a week before to the end of the event. The conference happened from June 22 to June 26. At that time, iOS 14 was announced, alongside iPad, Watch, TV and Mac software updates.The highlight of the event was the announced transition to custom ARM processors for Mac.\nThe stock was rebounding from the COVID-19 stock market crash at that time. However, looking back at history, we can draw a few conclusions about AAPL share price behavior around WWDC in the last 5 years.\nExcept for the 2017 conference, Apple caught an updraft around the WWDC weeks. Whether the performance is related to the event itself is a matter of interpretation.\nWhat to expect of WWDC 2021\nFor this year’s WWDC, Apple will likely release the usual software updates. For investors, possible updates on the products and services front would be most meaningful.\nA possible successor for the M1 chip, a 27-inc Mac, a new MacBook Pro, updates on AR and VR technology and even hints about the Apple Car would certainly be highlights. Today, they are&nbsp;<i>“out of touch,”</i>&nbsp;with the market’s<i>&nbsp;“new reality.”</i></p>\n<blockquote>\n <i><b>“The big benefit of TikTok is it allows users to dole out and obtain information in short, easily digestible video bites, also called TikToks.</b></i>\n <i>&nbsp;And that can make unfamiliar, complex topics, such as personal finance and investing, more palatable to a younger audience.That advice runs the gamut, from general information about home buying or retirement savings to specific stock picks and investment ideas.</i>\n <i><b>Rob Shields, a 22-year-old, self-taught options trader who has more than 163,000 followers on TikTok, posts TikToks under the username stock_genius on topics such as popular stocks to watch, how to find good stocks, and basic trading strategies.” –&nbsp;WSJ:</b></i>\n</blockquote>\n<p><b>Of course, the problem with information doled out by 22-year olds is they were 10-year olds during the last</b><i><b>“bear market.”</b></i>Given the lack of experience of investing during such a market, as opposed to Warren Buffett who has survived several, is the eventual destruction of capital.</p>\n<p><b>Plenty Of Analogies</b></p>\n<blockquote>\n <i><b>“There is no shortage of current analogies, of course. These funds have seen record inflows in recent months.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4ac35f10215d5fcffec35e4e94c952bb\" tg-width=\"500\" tg-height=\"335\"></p>\n<p><b>With margin debt reaching levels not seen since the peak of the last cyclical bull market cycle, it should raise some concerns about sustainability.</b>&nbsp;It is NOT the level of leverage that is the problem as leverage increases buying power as markets are rising.&nbsp;<b>The unwinding of this leverage is critically dangerous in the market as the acceleration of</b><b><i>“margin calls”</i></b><b>&nbsp;leads to a vicious downward spiral.</b></p>\n<p>Importantly, this chart<b>&nbsp;does not meanthat a massive market correction is imminent. I</b>t does suggest that leverage, and speculative risk-taking, are likely much further advanced than currently recognized.</p>\n<p><b>Pushing Extremes</b></p>\n<p>Prices are ultimately affected by physics. Moving averages, trend lines, etc., all exert a gravitational pull on prices in both the short and long term.&nbsp;<b>Like a rubber band, when prices get stretched too far in one direction, they have always eventually</b><b><i>“reverted to the mean”</i></b><b>&nbsp;in the most brutal of manners.</b></p>\n<p>The chart below shows the long-term chart of the S&amp;P 500 broken down by several measures: 2 and 3-standard deviations, valuations, relative strength, and deviations from the 3-year moving average.&nbsp;<b>It is worth noting that both standard deviations and distance from the 3-year moving average are at a record.</b></p>\n<p><b>During the last 120-years, overvaluation and extreme deviations NEVER got resolved by markets going sideways.</b></p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4fc311c3fdd527fd911070f7dd841545\" tg-width=\"500\" tg-height=\"590\"></p>\n<p>The only missing ingredient for such a correction currently is simply a catalyst to put&nbsp;<i>“fear”</i>&nbsp;into an overly complacent marketplace. Anything from economic disruption, a credit-related crisis, or an unexpected exogenous shock could start the&nbsp;<i>“panic for the exits.”</i></p>\n<p><b>Conclusion</b></p>\n<p>There is more than adequate evidence a<i>&nbsp;“bubble”</i>&nbsp;exists in markets once again. However, as Mark noted in his commentary:</p>\n<blockquote>\n <i>‘I have no idea whether the stock market is actually forming a bubble that’s about to break.</i>\n <i><b>But I do know that many bulls are fooling themselves when they think a bubble can’t happen when there is such widespread concern. The man knows how to spot a bargain.</p><p>Below is a screen of stocks inspired by Buffett’s two new picks that feature attractive dividend yields that are expected to be well-covered by free cash flow.</p><p>Word of Buffett’s new investment positions can send shares higher as other investors’ ears perk up. This happened after Berkshire Hathaway Inc.BRKdisclosed late Feb. 16 that it had purchased shares of Verizon Communications Inc.VZ.and Chevron Corp.CVX— two stocks with attractive dividend yields, one of which is cheaply priced when compared to the weighted valuation of the S&amp;P 500 IndexSPX.</p><p>Shares of Verizon were up 3% in early trading Feb. 17, while Chevron was up 3.5%. With dividends reinvested, Verizon had declined 7% for 2021 through Feb. 16, following a flat performance in 2020. Chevron was up 1.5% early Feb. 17 and had already risen 12% for 2021 following a 26% decline in 2020. Oil is on the upswing as investors look ahead to life after the pandemic. West Texas Intermediate crude oilCRUDE OILhad risen 68% from the close on Oct. 31 through Feb. 16, when it settled at $60.05 a barrel.</p><p>All of the following is based on closing prices Feb. 16 and consensus estimates among analysts polled by FactSet for the next 12 months.</p><p>Verizon’s stock trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 10.7, compared to a weighted aggregate forward P/E of 22.5 for the S&amp;P 500. The shares have a dividend yield of 4.64%.</p><p>One way to gauge a company’s ability to cover its dividend (and hopefully raise it) is to look at its free cash flow, which is its remaining cash flow after planned capital expenditures. This is money that can be used for any corporate purpose, including expansion, share repurchases or dividend increases. We can measure a company’s free cash flow yield by dividing trailing or estimated free cash flow by the current share price. Because of the disruptions to the U.S. economy in 2020, all the free cash flow yields that follow make use of consensus estimates for the next 12 reported months.</p><p>Verizion’s forward free cash flow yield is 8.97%, showing “headroom” of 4.34% over the current dividend.</p><p>Chevron’s stock trades at a forward P/E ratio of 24.8, which is higher than that of the S&amp;P 500. Then again, 2021 is expected to be a recovery year for oil and natural gas, and analysts’ earnings estimates may not have caught up with rising fuel commodity prices. Chevron’s dividend yield is 5.54% and its forward free cash flow yield is 7.99%, leaving “headroom” of 2.45%.</p><p>None of this is to say that Buffett is overly fixated on stocks with high dividend yields. He isn’t. Among the publicly traded holdings the company disclosed Feb. 16, there are plenty of companies that pay no dividends, including Amazon.com Inc.AMZN,Biogen Inc.BIIB,Charter Communications Inc.CHTRand General Motors Co.GM,which suspended its quarterly dividend in April.</p><p><b>A Buffett dividend stock screen</b></p><p>Working from Buffett’s selections of Verizon and Chevron and excluding stocks Berkshire Hathaway doesn’t already hold, here are the 22 stocks among the S&amp;P 500 with dividend yields of at least 4.00%, for which free cash flow estimates for calendar 2021 are available, with headroom indicated. CenturyLinkcut its quarterly dividend by 26% on the same day it authorized a $2 billion stock repurchase planin February 2013. The company’s quarterly dividend remained 54 cents a share until it wascut to the current 25 cents a sharein February 2019. No, but rising bond yields are sparking a nerve-racking rotation below the surface","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1145536641","media":"marketwatch","summary":"Rotation pushes Nasdaq into correction territory as bond yields continue rise.\n\nNever mind the hasht","content":"<blockquote>\n <b>Rotation pushes Nasdaq into correction territory as bond yields continue rise.</b>\n</blockquote>\n<p>Never mind the hashtags, the stock market remains far from “crash” territory, as anyone with a working memory of last March’s pandemic-inspired selloff, much less the global financial crisis of 2008, the dot-com bubble burst in 2000 or October 1987 would recall.</p>\n<p>But a rotation away from the market’s pandemic-era leaders, inspired by a sudden jump in bond yields, certainly does appear to be underway, and volatility can be unsettling to some investors.</p>\n<p>That could help explain why the term #stockmarketcrash was trending on Twitter Thursday, even though the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA and the S&amp;P 500 SPX remain far from even entering what’s known as a market correction, defined as a pullback of 10% from a recent peak, let alone a crash.</p>\n<p>The question investors should ask before tripping the alarm bells, however, is whether the price action is surprising or out of the ordinary, Brad McMillan, chief investment officer at Commonwealth Financial Network, told MarketWatch in a phone interview.</p>\n<p>And the answer is no, given that a backup in bond yields, which seems to largely reflect increasingly upbeat economic expectations, looks to be the main culprit, McMillan said.</p>\n<p>While the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite COMP on Thursday entered correction territory, having registered a 10% drop from its recent high point, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA is still just 3.4% below an all-time high set last month. The S&amp;P 500, the large-cap U.S. benchmark, was off less than 5% down from its recent record.</p>\n<p>Thursday’s market weakness echoed the wobble seen last week. Both bouts of selling were sparked by a selloff in the Treasury bond market, which pushed up yields. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note BX:TMUBMUSD10Y, which last week spiked to a more-than-one-year high at 1.6%, pushed back above 1.5% on Thursday. Remarks by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell seemed not to calm concerns that a potential pickup in inflation could see the central bank begin to scale back monetary stimulus earlier than expected, notwithstanding a pledge to let the economy run hot.</p>\n<p>To keep the day’s moves in perspective, the Nasdaq finished with a loss of 2.1%. The Dow was down more than 700 points at its session low, ending the day with a loss of 345.95 points, or 1%. The S&amp;P 500 shed 1.2%. Those are sharp daily drops, but they are not extraordinary.</p>\n<p>And it’s not unusual for stocks to begin pulling back as yields begin to rise, McMillan noted. It’s also not surprising that highflying growth stocks, which have seen valuations stretched in the post-pandemic rally, bear the brunt of the selling pressure.</p>\n<p>Investors appear to be taking profits on those highfliers and using the proceeds to buy stocks of companies in sectors more sensitive to the economic cycle.</p>\n<p>While rising yields can be a positive sign in the early stages of a bull market, signaling stronger economic growth ahead, the market rotation can be unnerving for investors, said Lindsey Bell, chief investment strategist for Ally Invest, in a note.</p>\n<p>“And higher yields tend to hit highfliers harder. That’s why we’ve seen stocks like Tesla TSLA and Peloton PTON fall more than 30% this year,” she said.</p>\n<p>Indeed, the outsize weighting of tech- and tech-related shares in major indexes can leave them vulnerable to weakness as that process takes hold.</p>\n<p>The price action of mega technology and discretionary stocks — Apple Inc. AAPL, Microsoft Corp. MSFT, Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, Facebook Inc. FB, Google parent Alphabet Inc. GOOG GOOGL, Tesla Inc. and Nvidia Corp. NVDA — now make up 24% of the S&amp;P 500, noted technical analyst Mark Arbeter, president of Arbeter Investments.</p>\n<p>“The weakness in large-cap tech has been weighing on the broad market averages, sparking concerns of a market top and the end of the cycle. From our perspective, breadth remains strong, a characteristic that is typically not present at market tops,” said Kevin Dempter, an analyst at Renaissance Macro Research, in a Thursday note.</p>\n<p>Small-cap discretionary stocks are at absolute highs, as well as multiyear highs relative to large-cap discretionary stocks, he said, which is a sign of broad-based participation. But instead of focusing on companies that need a vaccine to really grow, let’s look at two tech stocks that have posted big sales growth during the pandemic and are ready to expand for years within futuristic industries…</p><p><b>NIO Inc.NIO</b></p><p>Every major automaker, from FordFto Volvo, is racing to roll out more electric vehicles as they try to catch TeslaTSLA. Luckily for investors, the EV market is far from a zero-sum game and newcomers continue to enter the space. Chinese EV maker NIO is a rising star in the booming market, as its sales continue to grow. The company is also focused on autonomous driving tech, as well as batteries, which are the lifeblood of the industry.</p><p>NIO sells multiple models that are somewhat in-line with Tesla, from smaller SUVs to sedans. The company said in early January that it delivered 17,353 vehicles in the fourth quarter, which marked a 110% jump.</p><p>Overall, NIO’s full-year deliveries surged 113% to nearly 44,000 vehicles in 2020. And its January 2021 figures were even more impressive, with deliveries up 350% from the year-ago period to push its overall cumulative deliveries to 83K.</p><p>With this in mind, Zacks estimates call for NIO’s FY20 revenue to jump 120% to $2.49 billion, with FY21 projected to come in another 97% higher to reach $4.89 billion. The Chinese EV company is also expected to significantly shrink its adjusted losses during this stretch.</p><p>NIO has topped our EPS estimates in the trailing two periods and its positive earnings revisions help it land a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) heading into the release of its Q4 results on March 1.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5b6233d1784a5cb7db62b437f7632a3f\" tg-width=\"620\" tg-height=\"314\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>NIO, which rocks an “A” grade for Growth in our Style Scores system, has seen its stock skyrocket over 1,000% in the last year and 300% in the past six months. Luckily for investors who missed the ride, NIO has cooled down, up only 12% in the last three months.</p><p>At roughly $55 per share, it’s down about 13% from its late January records. The recent downturn has seen it fall from overbought in terms of the Relative Strength Index to around 45—an RSI above 70 is often regarded as overbought, with any number below 30 considered oversold.</p><p>NIO’s recent price performance could give it room to run if it’s able to impress Wall Street. And the stock jumped over 1% through morning trading Friday, as it bounces off its 50-day moving average. NIO shares also trade at a discount compared to other high-flyers at 12.7X forward sales, which marks a discount against Tesla’s 15.5X and comes in 25% below its own six-months highs.</p><p>Three out of the nine brokerage recommendations that Zacks has for NIO come in at a “Strong Buy,” with none below a “Hold.” NIO might be worth buying as a long-term play that’s far less expensive than Tesla ($784 a share), in a world where EVs already accounted for over 30% of Volvo’s new car sales in Europe in 2020. And let’s remember that China is one of the world’s largest EV markets.</p><p><b>CrowdStrikeCRWD</b></p><p>CrowdStrike is a cloud-focused cybersecurity firm that utilizes machine learning and AI to protect endpoints and cloud workloads. This is crucial in the cloud age that’s full of rapidly expanding endpoints, which include laptops, desktops, smartphones, IoT devices, and more.</p><p>Remote work and schooling pushed this area of the ever-growing cybersecurity space to the forefront, but it was already booming. More importantly, as devices proliferate and our digitally-connected world grows more complex, it becomes more vulnerable.</p><p>CrowdStrike on February announced plans to bolster its offerings through the acquisition of Humio for $400 million—expected to close in the first quarter. Humio provides high-performance cloud log management and observability technology. The deal is set to “further expand its eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) capabilities by ingesting and correlating data from any log, application or feed to deliver actionable insights and real-time protection.”</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9f684cfbac7ba46e2cf8ab6e063461a2\" tg-width=\"620\" tg-height=\"280\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>CrowdStrike, which went public in the summer of 2019, has soared nearly 280% in the past 12 months. More recently, the stock is up 65% in the last six months, and it already bounced back to new records—which it hit earlier in the week—after it slipped in mid-January.</p><p>The stock is firmly a growth play at the moment, trading at 42.7X forward sales, which puts it right in line with e-commerce giant ShopifySHOP. Despite its run, the stock is not currently considered overbought, with an RSI of 64.</p><p>CRWD’s positive earnings revisions help it grab a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) at the moment, with it set to release its fourth quarter fiscal 2021 results on March 16. Meanwhile, 14 of the 19 brokerage ratings Zacks has for CRWD come in at a “Strong Buy,” with none lower than a “Hold.”</p><p>Looking back, the company crushed our Q3 estimates in December, with sales up 86%. CrowdStrike also lifted its guidance at the time. Zacks estimates currently call for it to swing from an adjusted loss of -$0.02 a share in the year-ago period to +$0.09 in the fourth quarter on 65% stronger sales.</p><p>In total, the cybersecurity firm is projected to soar from a loss of -$0.42 a share to +$0.23 in fiscal 2021. Plus, CRWD’s FY22 EPS figure is projected to climb another 70% higher, all the way to $0.39 a share. Meanwhile, its revenue is projected to jump 79% to hit $861 million in FY21 and then climb another 42% to $1.22 billion in FY22.</p><p>CrowdStrike’s expected growth would come on top of FY20’s 93% sales expansion. The stock has clearly already gone on an impressive run. But it is poised to continue to grow in a world where everything is connected and data is endless. Despite the drop in some of the big tech names such as AppleAAPL, FacebookFB, MicrosoftMSFT, Zoom VideoZM, and countless others this week, the market fundamentals remain relatively strong.Ebbs and flows, as well as pullbacks and corrections are healthy aspects of the market. And they need not be viewed as anything but normal occurrences, especially as strong earnings results continue to pour in. Better yet, the outlook for the first quarter and the rest of 2021 has improved significantly.Vaccine distribution will hopefully help the economy roar back by the summer and lift some of the hardest-hit areas of the economy. Meanwhile, Wall Street is banking on more spending under the Biden administration and the Fed remains firmly committed to keeping interest rates low.All of these factors set up a bullish outlook for 2021. But instead of focusing on companies that need a vaccine to really grow, let’s look at two tech stocks that have posted big sales growth during the pandemic and are ready to expand for years within futuristic industries…NIO Inc.NIOEvery major automaker, from FordFto Volvo, is racing to roll out more electric vehicles as they try to catch TeslaTSLA. Luckily for investors, the EV market is far from a zero-sum game and newcomers continue to enter the space. Chinese EV maker NIO is a rising star in the booming market, as its sales continue to grow. The company is also focused on autonomous driving tech, as well as batteries, which are the lifeblood of the industry.NIO sells multiple models that are somewhat in-line with Tesla, from smaller SUVs to sedans. The company said in early January that it delivered 17,353 vehicles in the fourth quarter, which marked a 110% jump.Overall, NIO’s full-year deliveries surged 113% to nearly 44,000 vehicles in 2020. And its January 2021 figures were even more impressive, with deliveries up 350% from the year-ago period to push its overall cumulative deliveries to 83K.With this in mind, Zacks estimates call for NIO’s FY20 revenue to jump 120% to $2.49 billion, with FY21 projected to come in another 97% higher to reach $4.89 billion. The Chinese EV company is also expected to significantly shrink its adjusted losses during this stretch.NIO has topped our EPS estimates in the trailing two periods and its positive earnings revisions help it land a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) heading into the release of its Q4 results on March 1.NIO, which rocks an “A” grade for Growth in our Style Scores system, has seen its stock skyrocket over 1,000% in the last year and 300% in the past six months. Luckily for investors who missed the ride, NIO has cooled down, up only 12% in the last three months.At roughly $55 per share, it’s down about 13% from its late January records. The recent downturn has seen it fall from overbought in terms of the Relative Strength Index to around 45—an RSI above 70 is often regarded as overbought, with any number below 30 considered oversold.NIO’s recent price performance could give it room to run if it’s able to impress Wall Street. And the stock jumped over 1% through morning trading Friday, as it bounces off its 50-day moving average. NIO shares also trade at a discount compared to other high-flyers at 12.7X forward sales, which marks a discount against Tesla’s 15.5X and comes in 25% below its own six-months highs.Three out of the nine brokerage recommendations that Zacks has for NIO come in at a “Strong Buy,” with none below a “Hold.” NIO might be worth buying as a long-term play that’s far less expensive than Tesla ($784 a share), in a world where EVs already accounted for over 30% of Volvo’s new car sales in Europe in 2020. And let’s remember that China is one of the world’s largest EV markets.CrowdStrikeCRWDCrowdStrike is a cloud-focused cybersecurity firm that utilizes machine learning and AI to protect endpoints and cloud workloads. This is crucial in the cloud age that’s full of rapidly expanding endpoints, which include laptops, desktops, smartphones, IoT devices, and more.Remote work and schooling pushed this area of the ever-growing cybersecurity space to the forefront, but it was already booming. More importantly, as devices proliferate and our digitally-connected world grows more complex, it becomes more vulnerable.CrowdStrike on February announced plans to bolster its offerings through the acquisition of Humio for $400 million—expected to close in the first quarter. Humio provides high-performance cloud log management and observability technology. The deal is set to “further expand its eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) capabilities by ingesting and correlating data from any log, application or feed to deliver actionable insights and real-time protection.”CrowdStrike, which went public in the summer of 2019, has soared nearly 280% in the past 12 months. More recently, the stock is up 65% in the last six months, and it already bounced back to new records—which it hit earlier in the week—after it slipped in mid-January.The stock is firmly a growth play at the moment, trading at 42.7X forward sales, which puts it right in line with e-commerce giant ShopifySHOP. Despite its run, the stock is not currently considered overbought, with an RSI of 64.CRWD’s positive earnings revisions help it grab a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) at the moment, with it set to release its fourth quarter fiscal 2021 results on March 16. Meanwhile, 14 of the 19 brokerage ratings Zacks has for CRWD come in at a “Strong Buy,” with none lower than a “Hold.”Looking back, the company crushed our Q3 estimates in December, with sales up 86%. CrowdStrike also lifted its guidance at the time. Zacks estimates currently call for it to swing from an adjusted loss of -$0.02 a share in the year-ago period to +$0.09 in the fourth quarter on 65% stronger sales.In total, the cybersecurity firm is projected to soar from a loss of -$0.42 a share to +$0.23 in fiscal 2021. Plus, CRWD’s FY22 EPS figure is projected to climb another 70% higher, all the way to $0.39 a share. Meanwhile, its revenue is projected to jump 79% to hit $861 million in FY21 and then climb another 42% to $1.22 billion in FY22.CrowdStrike’s expected growth would come on top of FY20’s 93% sales expansion. The stock has clearly already gone on an impressive run. But it is poised to continue to grow in a world where everything is connected and data is endless.
