today. Almost every day, SOS stock makes a big move one way or the other.
\n
On last Monday, for example, shares surged 20% on strong operating results. But it quickly followed that up with a nearly 10% loss the next day.
\n
Fundamentals are similarly mixed. On the one hand, SOS appears to be rapidly scaling up a large cryptocurrency mining business. It put out another press release just this week highlighting substantial progress on that front.
\n
On the other hand, short sellers have claimed that SOS stock is a house of cards. Who’s right?
\n
SOS: A Rapidly Growing Crypto Business …
\n
According to SOS’ management, the company’s business is advancing rapidly. According to an update from earlier this week, the company is getting more mining equipment set-up quickly. SOS states that it has deployed a second group of 5,000 mining units, and has more on the way. According to CFO Steven Li:
\n
\n Our output should grow in future quarters as we receive and install our third batch of mining rigs and have a full quarter of operations for our current rigs.\n
\n
Furthermore, SOS stated that it successfully mined its first Bitcoin(CCC:BTC-USD) on Feb. 24 of this year. For all of Q1, it anticipates 41 Bitcoin and 909 ether tokens. Given the current prices of those cryptocurrencies, SOS would generate in the range of $4 million in revenues this quarter.
\n
Presumably, that’d ramp up quickly next quarter as its mining gear would be online for a full three-month period rather than just a few weeks.
\n
Or Is it a Dangerous Scheme?
\n
Both Hindenburg Research and Culper Research fired off short seller reports against SOS stock recently. I’ll stick to covering the Hindenburg allegations, as its the more well-known firm.
\n
Hindenburg successfully revealed the skullduggery occurring at Nikola(NASDAQ:NKLA) last year, and its recent report on Lordstown(NASDAQ:RIDE) has also caused a major impact. Thus, Hindenburg’s allegations against SOS must be considered seriously.
\n
Hindenburg lays out a variety of allegations against the company. For one, it documents that the company’s purported headquarters was empty. The company responded and stated that it was at a different address, however this one showed few signs of life either, according to Hindenburg’s photo documentation.
\n
Hindenburg also revealed that SOS allegedly inflated a key person’s resume. But perhaps the real shocker was that a purported takeover to acquire crypto assets appears to have actually been a related-party transaction. Hindenburg highlighted how both SOS and the purchased company’s website used the same code and cited an employee who said as much, thus suggesting it was a shell transaction.
\n
Hindenburg wrapped all this up by stating that the company is an “obvious shell game” that is worth nothing. After a company response, Hindenburg doubled down. It pointed out that SOS refused to reveal the location of its mining rigs – unlike other listed crypto-mining companies – making it harder to validate the company’s purported assets.
\n
SOS Stock Bottom Line
\n
The tipping point for me personally, in this debate, is SOS’ corporate history. Just a few short years ago, SOS made its initial public offering (IPO). Back then it was called China Rapid Finance and traded under the ticker XRF. It intended to make consumer loans online, using a peer-to-peer marketplace. However, this business never reached consistent profitability, and the company’s balance sheet was eroding.
\n
Not surprisingly, like so many other struggling firms, China Rapid Finance abruptly pivoted to cryptocurrency. It changed its corporate name, business strategy and ticker symbol. While some totally reinvented companies end up being successful, usually this sort of corporate makeover ends badly.
\n
Throw in the credible short-seller allegations and SOS stock is a pass for me. I’m not the only one, either. Our Matt McCall, who is a crypto bull, nonetheless makes the case for avoiding SOS stockright now.
\n
That said, if you are highly bullish on cryptocurrencies in the short run, there’s a good chance that SOS stock will work out. It’s hard to deny the operational momentum the company has on the mining front right now.
\n
As long as the major cryptocurrencies keep hitting new all-time highs, SOS stock will have a strong tailwind. Just make sure not to overstay your welcome in SOS stock.
\n
There are a lot of troubling factors here from a longer-term perspective.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The Bull and Bear Cases for SOS Limited Stock
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe Bull and Bear Cases for SOS Limited Stock\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-03-22 20:37 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Making sense of the controversy that is SOS stock\nSOS Limited( NYSE:SOS) is arguably one of the most interesting trading stocks on the market today. According to the research shop, the iPhone 12 resembles a “redesign cycle” rather thana more meaningful “5G super cycle”. As a result, iPhone replacement rates should be low in 2021.
\n
Still on the same subject, Goldman projects ASP (average selling price) to come down this year, as buyers shift to cheaper models like the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 11. Here, recent data points have been suggesting the opposite: the mini seems to be the biggest loser within the product portfolio, while the Pro and Pro Max have been performing above expectations.
\n
Also, Mr. Hall does not seethe Apple Car opportunityas a profitable initiative.Accordingto him:
\n
\n “The auto industry has generally lower gross margins than Apple's own current businesses. Tesla's gross margins are about 20%, compared to Apple's 40%. Operating margins are even lower, typically in the high single digits. Even in optimistic scenarios, the release of a production Apple Car is likely to have only a minor impact on Apple's bottom line.”\n
\n
Lastly, the analyst believes that the end of the COVID-19 crisis will trigger a discretionary spending shift from tech devices (iPhones, Macs) to away-from-home services (travel and leisure). This could be a negative catalyst for the stock in 2021.
\n
The Apple Maven’s take
\n
In my opinion, the market is not the place to cheer for or against a stock. This is what sports arenas are for (after the pandemic is over, of course). So, I think that even the most confident of Apple investors should pay attention to the bearish case on the stock, and think through the arguments critically.
\n
I think Goldman raises good points about the hype around the 5G super cycle and the Apple Car. Whether either can push Apple’s financial results significantly above current consensus remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the stockseems to have already priced some of the upside.
\n
I also understand the risk in discretionary spending migrating away from tech hardware, software and services. Just as an example, air travel bookings for the summer seasonhave already started to climb fast. Where will the money to cover these costs come from? A brand-new iPad could be one answer.
\n
Still, the Apple Maven sees more upside to investing in Apple at current levels than downside risk. In addition to the bullish points on the business fundamentals, the valuation floor and dip-buying opportunityincreases the probability that an investment in Apple today will pay off in the long term.
\n
Twitter speaks
\n
The most bullish analysts say that Apple could head to $225 per share, under the rosiest scenario. The most bearish of them says “not so fast”, and sees 35% downside risk. Buffett has told the board that he doesn’t want to be paid any more. The company did pay $280,000 for security services for Buffett in 2020.
\n
Buffett personally determines the compensation of his top managers without considering Berkshire’s overall financial performance and stock price.
\n
“Berkshire’s program regarding compensation of its executive officers is different from most public company programs,” the company said in its proxy.
\n
Buffett is generous toward his two top managers, Greg Abel and Ajit Jain. The two vice chairmen earned $19 million apiece in each of the past two years, with $16 million in salary. Unlike most big companies, Berkshire doesn’t grant stock compensation to its top executives. Abel oversees Berkshire’s huge non-insurance operations, while Jain runs its large insurance business.
\n
Berkshire’s 14-member board is one of the lowest paid—and oldest—among major companies. Each board member gets just $300 for each telephone board meeting and $900 for those held in person. Many members earned a total of $1,200 for the year, against an average of more than $250,000 in annual compensation for board members of companies in the S&P 500.
\n
Many board members view it as a privilege to serve with Buffett and they are willing to do so without getting the financial protection of directors and officers’ insurance—a contrast with nearly all big companies.
\n
The board has four members 90 years or older: Buffett (90), Vice Chairman Charlie Munger (97), longtime Berkshire holder and Buffett friend David “Sandy” Gottesman (94), and the former CEO of Capital Cities/ABC, Thomas Murphy (95). Buffett has told the board that he doesn’t want to be paid any more. The company did pay $280,000 for security services for Buffett in 2020.\nBuffett personally determines the compensation of his top managers without considering Berkshire’s overall financial performance and stock price.\n“Berkshire’s program regarding compensation of its executive officers is different from most public company programs,” the company said in its proxy.\nBuffett is generous toward his two top managers, Greg Abel and Ajit Jain. The two vice chairmen earned $19 million apiece in each of the past two years, with $16 million in salary. Unlike most big companies, Berkshire doesn’t grant stock compensation to its top executives. Abel oversees Berkshire’s huge non-insurance operations, while Jain runs its large insurance business.\nBerkshire’s 14-member board is one of the lowest paid—and oldest—among major companies. Each board member gets just $300 for each telephone board meeting and $900 for those held in person. Many members earned a total of $1,200 for the year, against an average of more than $250,000 in annual compensation for board members of companies in the S&P 500.\nMany board members view it as a privilege to serve with Buffett and they are willing to do so without getting the financial protection of directors and officers’ insurance—a contrast with nearly all big companies.\nThe board has four members 90 years or older: Buffett (90), Vice Chairman Charlie Munger (97), longtime Berkshire holder and Buffett friend David “Sandy” Gottesman (94), and the former CEO of Capital Cities/ABC, Thomas Murphy (95). The two youngest board members are 58.\nBuffett is both CEO and chairman and doesn’t believe in splitting those positions.\n“It is Mr. Buffett’s opinion that a controlling shareholder who is active in the business, as is currently the case and has been the case for Mr. Buffett for over 50 years, should hold both roles,” the proxy says.\nBuffett owns a 16% economic stake in Berkshire worth around $95 billion and has a 32% voting stake reflecting his ownership of supervoting class A stock.\nBerkshire asked shareholders to reject proposals on climate change and diversity, likely reflecting Buffett’s views on those matters. On the diversity issue, a shareholder has proposed that Berkshire publish an annual report on diversity and inclusion.\nBerkshire cited its decentralized conglomerate structure as a reason for opposing them.\nBerkshire said that three of its 14 board members are women and that two are ethnically diverse: Jain and former American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault.\nUnlike most big companies, Berkshire doesn’t focus on having a diverse board. Berkshire’s statement on the matter is unlike anything among major companies:\n“Berkshire does not have a policy regarding the consideration of diversity in identifying nominees for director. In identifying director nominees, the governance committee does not seek diversity, however defined. Instead, as previously discussed, the governance committee looks for individuals who have very high integrity, business savvy, an owner-oriented attitude and a deep genuine interest in the company.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":241,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":328615806,"gmtCreate":1615519585905,"gmtModify":1704784010426,"author":{"id":"3575289521158838","authorId":"3575289521158838","name":"boonhuat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04020f90fcb6f74117e2a7d738a58fe0","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575289521158838","authorIdStr":"3575289521158838"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Coin","listText":"Coin","text":"Coin","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/328615806","repostId":"1144029837","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":123,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":321745066,"gmtCreate":1615473065055,"gmtModify":1704783260639,"author":{"id":"3575289521158838","authorId":"3575289521158838","name":"boonhuat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04020f90fcb6f74117e2a7d738a58fe0","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575289521158838","authorIdStr":"3575289521158838"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow I have more day light to trade :))) can sleep earlier now","listText":"Wow I have more day light to trade :))) can sleep earlier now","text":"Wow I have more day light to trade :))) can sleep earlier now","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/321745066","repostId":"1199156489","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1199156489","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1615452861,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1199156489?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-11 16:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US Daylight Saving Time","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1199156489","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"From 02:00 U.S. East time March 14(this Sunday),the North America region entered daylight saving tim","content":"
From 02:00 U.S. East time March 14(this Sunday),the North America region entered daylight saving time, until 02:00 U.S. East time ends on November 7,2021.

So,starting on Monday,March 14,the U.S. market will open and close one hour ahead of schedule during north american daylight saving time,i.e.,U.S. trading time will be changed to 21:30 beijing time to 04:00 a.m.the next day,pre-trade time will be 16:00 to 21:30,after-trade time will be 04:00 to 8:00.

What is daylight saving time?

The DST is the practice of moving clocks forward by one hour during summer months so that daylight lasts longer into evening. It won't be the last time the world stops to watch such an event in the same way that people, who would otherwise never watch a race, are glued to the screen when F1 drivers crash into the barrier or each other. Pundits have tried to turn this into more than it is, but until people turn up with actual pitchforks in front of Mr. Griffin's $60M penthouse pad in Chicago, I am inclined to side with George Pearkes' take on the matter; move on, nothing (much) to see. People with time on their hands, and a stimulus cheque(?), have decided to take a punt. On the face of it, they have been successful, but most will have bought and sold too late to avoid the gut-wrenching losses that are all but inevitable in the context of the kind of volatility, which GameStop has exhibited recently. Meanwhile, in the boring and dusty world of global macro trading, investors' eyes are still focused on the long bond in the U.S., where it is, or isn't, going, and what this means for other asset classes, the economy, not to mention the Fed's reaction function? Now, many of these products — including certain Chromebook laptops and next-generation consoles like the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 — are sold out, or subject to lengthy shipping times. It’s just one of a number of factors that has driven demand for semiconductors, but as supply struggles to keep up, it’s the chip-reliant car industry that has been hit especially hard.“We have seen in the short term, the automotive industry has been very adversely affected,” Bryce Johnstone, director of automotive segment marketing at chip designer Imagination Technologies, told CNBC via email. “This stems from their just-in-time production methodology and their incredibly complicated supply chains.”Carmakers uses semiconductors in everything from power steering and brake sensors, to entertainment systems and parking cameras. The smarter cars get, the more chips they use.“If the chip that powers the in-car dials or automatic braking are delayed, then so will the rest of the vehicle,” said Johnstone.Closed car plantsU.S. car giant General Motorsannounced last Wednesdaythat it is shutting three plants and slowing production at a fourth due to the semiconductor shortage. The Detroit car manufacturer said it could miss its 2021 targets as a result.“Despite our mitigation efforts, the semiconductor shortage will impact GM production in 2021,” a company spokesman said in a statement.“Semiconductor supply for the global auto industry remains very fluid,” they added. “Our supply chain organization is working closely with our supply base to find solutions for our suppliers’ semiconductor requirements and to mitigate impacts on GM.”Several other car manufacturers have also put production on hold in recent weeks. Honda U.K.’s main plant in Swindon wasshut down for several dayslast month due to a chip shortage, for example. Elsewhere, Ford and Volkswagen have also shut plants or cut production while they wait for supplies to pick up.Ford said in January that it wasshutting a factory in Germany for a month, while Volkswagen said in December it willmake 100,000 fewer carsthis quarter as a result of the shortage.Speaking about the chip shortage on a Davos panel on Jan. 25, VW CEO Herbert Diess said: “We have to make sure that the markets and supply chains remain intact.”Swings in demand; long lead timesFalan Yinug, director of industry statistics and economic policy at the Semiconductor Industry Association, says the chip shortage in the automotive industry is largely the result of substantial swings in demand due to the pandemic and the increased use of semiconductors in advanced vehicles.“The events leading to the current auto chip shortage began during the second quarter of 2020, when automakers understandably reduced production and chip purchases as the virus spread across the globe,” Yinug wrote ina bloglast Thursday. At the same time, chipmakers saw a pickup in demand for semiconductors used to support remote healthcare, work-at-home, and virtual learning, which were required during the pandemic, according to Yinug.“In the months that followed, demand for automotive semiconductors rallied much more quickly than most anticipated,” Yinug said.“The clear decrease in monthly year-over-year (YoY) sales growth for application-specific chips used in the automotive market was sudden and precipitous in March and April, when the pandemic was shuttering auto plants globally. Equally as pronounced was the rapid recovery in YoY sales during Q3 and Q4 (third and fourth quarters). In fact, monthly YoY Q4 sales had recovered to be positive again.”The semiconductor industry has been trying to ramp up production but Yinug said the supply-demand imbalance cannot be remedied with the flip of a switch.“Making a semiconductor is one of the most complex manufacturing processes,” he said. “Lead times of up to 26 weeks are the norm in the industry to produce a finished chip. Most industry analysts believe the current short-term supply shortage will ease in the coming months as supply adjusts to meet demand.”Cost conscious industryHermann Hauser, the co-founder of British chip designer Arm, told CNBC that the automotive industry has been hurt the most because it is “incredibly cost conscious.”“When the chip industry decides should we allocate our capacity to the car industry or the telecoms industry or the server industry, it’s an easy decision,” he said. “Go for the server industry because their gross margins are so much better. That’s why the car industry is in a particularly tight spot.”Hauser said there isn’t enough competition in the semiconductor manufacturing market, pointing to the fact that it has a very high Herfindahl–Hirschman index, which measures market concentration in a specific industry. It is calculated by squaring the market share of each company competing in a market and then adding the resulting numbers. For example, chip manufacturers have battled it out to build the smallest chips possible over the years, but only a couple of companies can create the new five nanometer (or 5nm) chips on a commercial level.“Samsung and TSMC are the only two semiconductor companies in the world that have a working 5nm process,” he said. “It’s just too high a concentration.”One of the reasons there are so few 5nm chip manufacturing plants is because they’re expensive, according to Hauser. Building something so small requires hi-tech equipment that isn’t cheap.Expanding factoriesNewport Wafer Fab in South Wales, Britain’s largest chip factory, raised over £50 million($68 million) in January to try and cash in on the global semiconductor supply shortage. It said it would use the funding to almost double the number of chip wafers — thin slices of a semiconductor — it makes from 8,000 to 14,000, according to The Telegraph newspaper. The company did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.Newport Wafer Fab Chairman Drew Nelson reportedly said demand had “absolutely skyrocketed” in the last three months, fueled by both the global shortage and the rise of electric cars.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":179,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":328615806,"gmtCreate":1615519585905,"gmtModify":1704784010426,"author":{"id":"3575289521158838","authorId":"3575289521158838","name":"boonhuat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04020f90fcb6f74117e2a7d738a58fe0","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575289521158838","authorIdStr":"3575289521158838"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Coin","listText":"Coin","text":"Coin","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/328615806","repostId":"1144029837","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1144029837","pubTimestamp":1615513990,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1144029837?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-12 09:53","market":"sg","language":"en","title":"The Nasdaq's Back, and These 3 Stocks Are Flying High Again","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1144029837","media":"Nasdaq","summary":"The stock market has been going through a lot of volatility lately, and theNasdaq Composite(NASDAQIN","content":"
The stock market has been going through a lot of volatility lately, and theNasdaq Composite(NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC)has found itself on the short end of the stick. It proposed that at least one of the lead underwriters in an initial public offering should also act as a sponsor and be held legally responsible for due diligence to align costs and incentives, according to a report released on Monday.
\n
The move comes amid a boom in deals in the city, stoked by an inflow of mainland Chinese cash and high-profile company listings. The fundraising frenzy has attracted more than a million retail investors on some deals, including those of Yidu Tech Inc. and Kuaishou Technology and the withdrawn Ant Group Co. listing. One third of the 144 listings in Hong Kong last year dropped on their first trading day, data compiled by Bloomberg show.
\n
The regulator has noticed “inflated or opaque demand” in some offerings, as well as preferential treatment, rebates and misleading “book messages,” it said. It proposed to codify good practices such as disclosures of discounts and conflicts of interest.
\n
“The general market perception is that more issuers were adopting fluid incentive structures (eg, the late determination of fee arrangements) which incentivize sell-side firms to compete more aggressively to join a syndicate, often at a late stage in an offering,” the SFC said.
\n
In one debt offering, a broker placed an order for HK$20 million on behalf of a client who had only expressed interest in buying HK$5 million of securities, the SFC found in a review. “Submitting knowingly inflated orders or disseminating misleading book messages undermines the price discovery process and can mislead investors,” it said.
\n
The proposal will also force banks to report their underwriting fee structures earlier to the SFC with an advised split of 75% fixed and 25% discretionary. The banks can alter the ratio if needed and report accordingly.
\n
“Having a fee ratio guidance will inevitably limit flexibility,” said Leon Xu, managing director at Huatai International. “It would be better to raise to one third. All in all, the principle of the base fee trumping the discretionary fee makes sense.”
\n
The rules would create new underwriting categories, including naming an overall coordinator and capital market intermediaries. The OC should see to it that the pricing and allocation recommendations to the issuer fully take into account the proposed code, while the CMI needs to ensure credible price discovery and a transparent and actual order book.
\n
This will avoid the unclear seniority and responsibilities under the various roles such as “joint global coordinators,” “joint representatives” and “billing and delivery banks,” the regulator said.
\n
The new rule would cover IPOs, other share offerings, real estate investment trusts, placings oflisted sharesto third party investors followed by a top up subscription, and all types of debt offerings.
\n
Market participants have until May 7 to respond to the consultation.
","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; It proposed that at least one of the lead underwriters in an initial public offering should also act as a sponsor and be held legally responsible for due diligence to align costs and incentives, according to a report released on Monday.\nThe move comes amid a boom in deals in the city, stoked by an inflow of mainland Chinese cash and high-profile company listings. The fundraising frenzy has attracted more than a million retail investors on some deals, including those of Yidu Tech Inc. and Kuaishou Technology and the withdrawn Ant Group Co. listing. One third of the 144 listings in Hong Kong last year dropped on their first trading day, data compiled by Bloomberg show.\nThe regulator has noticed “inflated or opaque demand” in some offerings, as well as preferential treatment, rebates and misleading “book messages,” it said. It proposed to codify good practices such as disclosures of discounts and conflicts of interest.\n“The general market perception is that more issuers were adopting fluid incentive structures (eg, the late determination of fee arrangements) which incentivize sell-side firms to compete more aggressively to join a syndicate, often at a late stage in an offering,” the SFC said.\nIn one debt offering, a broker placed an order for HK$20 million on behalf of a client who had only expressed interest in buying HK$5 million of securities, the SFC found in a review. “Submitting knowingly inflated orders or disseminating misleading book messages undermines the price discovery process and can mislead investors,” it said.\nThe proposal will also force banks to report their underwriting fee structures earlier to the SFC with an advised split of 75% fixed and 25% discretionary. The banks can alter the ratio if needed and report accordingly.\n“Having a fee ratio guidance will inevitably limit flexibility,” said Leon Xu, managing director at Huatai International. “It would be better to raise to one third. All in all, the principle of the base fee trumping the discretionary fee makes sense.”\nThe rules would create new underwriting categories, including naming an overall coordinator and capital market intermediaries. The OC should see to it that the pricing and allocation recommendations to the issuer fully take into account the proposed code, while the CMI needs to ensure credible price discovery and a transparent and actual order book.\nThis will avoid the unclear seniority and responsibilities under the various roles such as “joint global coordinators,” “joint representatives” and “billing and delivery banks,” the regulator said.\nThe new rule would cover IPOs, other share offerings, real estate investment trusts, placings oflisted sharesto third party investors followed by a top up subscription, and all types of debt offerings.\nMarket participants have until May 7 to respond to the consultation.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":213,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":355252048,"gmtCreate":1617078622384,"gmtModify":1704801668977,"author":{"id":"3575289521158838","authorId":"3575289521158838","name":"boonhuat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04020f90fcb6f74117e2a7d738a58fe0","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575289521158838","authorIdStr":"3575289521158838"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Coin","listText":"Coin","text":"Coin","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/355252048","repostId":"2123265703","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2123265703","pubTimestamp":1617075962,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2123265703?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-30 11:46","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Novavax’s Production Problems Are Overblown, Says Analyst","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2123265703","media":"TipRanks","summary":"Reports of raw materials shortages causing production delays for Novavax's (NVAX) COVID-19 vaccine f","content":"
\n
Reports of raw materials shortages causing production delays for Novavax's (NVAX) COVID-19 vaccine forced the company to postpone signing a supply contract with the European Union Thursday. As Reuters ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"yahoofinance","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Riley analyst Mayank Mamtani is unafraid.Mamtani has spoken with Novavax executives and confirmed that the company's \"EU supply negotiations continue in parallel progression... in order to submit regulatory filing in the U.K. first, shortly followed by EMA to access several countries within the E.U.\"In other words, while there may be a delay in signing, the negotiations have not been called off by any means. To the contrary, says the analyst, Novavax is \"likely be negotiating from position of strength particularly given the relatively increased prominence of variants of concern, and increased skepticism for local vaccine manufacturers.\"Here, Mamtani obviously refers to the well-publicized problem of Europe's off-again, on-again, off-again endorsements of AstraZeneca's AZD1222 coronavirus vaccine over concerns that it may cause blood clots. But the analyst is also referring to a vaccine from CureVac, which he notes has suffered a delay in its \"interim readout\" into mid-Q2 2021, \"in order to account for protocol amendments to include analysis on specific variants.\"As Mamtani explains, the EU had wanted to buy CureVac's mRNA-based vaccine because trials of its effectiveness would have focused intensively on \"subjects in South America,\" where more infectious and more severe COVID-19 variants are running rampant. EU health officials wanted an mRNA vaccine proven effective against those variants, which are also gaining ground on the Continent, and had hoped that CureVac's CVnCoV would be \"the first mRNA-based vaccine exposed in a meaningful way to the U.K., S.A., and/or P1 strains in a clinical trial setting.\"But now deployment of it, like AstraZeneca's troubled vaccine, has been delayed -- creating Novavax's \"position of strength\" mentioned above.Meanwhile, on the subject of raw materials shortages delaying production of Novavax's NVX-CoV2373 vaccine, Mamtani considers any such delays only temporary in nature. As the analyst explains: \"enforcement of Defense Production Act would be able to soon flood the global supply chain markets with these relatively commoditized items.\"As a result, Mamtani continues to anticipate that NVX-CoV2373 will \"play a meaningful role in the Biden administration's ongoing vaccine diplomacy efforts recognizing the need for herd immunity to be attained at globally.\" The analyst predicts a 90% chance that NVX-CoV2373 will ultimately be approved for Emergency Use Authorization. So what's the upshot for investors? Mamtani is sticking to his Buy rating and $365 price target on the stock. In this analyst's view, there's still plenty of reason to hope that Novavax stock will more than double. (To watch Mamtani's track record, click here)The rest of the Street appears to echo Mamtani's bullish sentiment. As it has racked up 5 Buys and no Holds or Sells, the consensus is unanimous: NVAX is a Strong Buy. Adding to the good news, the upside potential lands at 86% based on the $323 average price target.
