POINTS\n\nPresident Joe Biden will unveil a more than $2 trillion infrastructure and economic recovery package on Wednesday.\nThe plan aims to revitalize U.S. transportation infrastructure, water systems, broadband and manufacturing, among other goals.\nAn increase in the corporate tax rate to 28% and measures designed to prevent offshoring of profits will fund the spending, according to the White House.\n\nPresidentJoe Bidenwill unveil a more than $2 trillion infrastructure package on Wednesday as his administration shifts its focus to bolstering the post-pandemic economy.\nThe plan Biden will outline Wednesday will include roughly $2 trillion in spending over eight years, and would raise the corporate tax rate to 28% to fund it, an administration official told reporters Tuesday night.\nThe White House said the tax hike, combined with measures designed to stop offshoring of profits, would fund the infrastructure plan within 15 years.\nThe proposal would:\n\nPut $621 billion into transportation infrastructure such as bridges, roads, public transit, ports, airports and electric vehicle development\nDirect $400 billion to care for elderly and disabled Americans\nInject more than $300 billion into improving drinking-water infrastructure, expanding broadband access and upgrading electric grids\nPut more than $300 billion into building and retrofitting affordable housing, along with constructing and upgrading schools\nInvest $580 billionin American manufacturing, research and development and job training efforts\n\nThe president will kick off his second major White House initiative after passage of a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan earlier this month. The administration aims to approve a first proposal designed to create jobs, revamp U.S. infrastructure and fight climate change before it turns toward a second plan to improve education and expand paid leave and health-care coverage.\nThrough the plan announced Wednesday, the White House aims to show it can “revitalize our national imagination and put millions of Americans to work right now,” the administration official said.\nThe White House plans to fund the spending by raising the corporate tax rate to 28%. Republicans slashed the levy to 21% from 35% as part of their 2017 tax law.\nThe administration also aims to boost the global minimum tax for multinational corporations and ensure they pay at least 21%. The White House also aims to discourage firms from listing tax havens as their address and writing off expenses related to offshoring, among other reforms.\nBiden hopes the package will create manufacturing jobs and rescue failing American infrastructure as the country tries to emerge from the shadow of Covid-19. He and congressional Democrats also aim to combat climate change and start a transition to cleaner energy sources.\nThe president was set to announce his plans in Pittsburgh, a city where organized labor has a strong presence and the economy has undergone a shift from traditional manufacturing and mining to health care and technology. Biden, who has pledged to create union jobs as part of the infrastructure plan, launched his presidential campaign at a Pittsburgh union hall in 2019.\nWhile Democrats narrowly control both chambers of Congress, the party faces challenges in passing the infrastructure plan. The GOP broadly supports efforts to rebuild roads, bridges and airports and expand broadband access, but Republicans oppose tax hikes as part of the process.\n“We’re hearing the next few months might bring a so-called infrastructure proposal that may actually be a Trojan horse for massive tax hikes and other job-killing left-wing policies,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said earlier this month.\nBiden has said he hopes to win Republican support for an infrastructure bill. If Democrats cannot get 10 GOP senators on board, they will have to try to pass the bill through budget reconciliation, which would not require any Republicans to back the plan in a chamber split 50-50 by party.\nThey would also have to consider whether to package the physical infrastructure plans with other recovery policies including universal pre-K and expanded paid leave. Republicans likely would not back more spending to boost the social safety net, especially if Democrats move to hike taxes on the wealthy to fund programs.\nThe administration official did not say whether Biden would seek to pass the plan with bipartisan support.\n“We will begin and will already have begun to do extensive outreach to our counterparts in Congress,” the official said.\nAsked Monday about how the bill could pass, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Biden would “leave the mechanics of bill passing to [Senate Majority] Leader [Chuck] Schumer and other leaders in Congress.”\nAs of now, Democrats will have two more shots at budget reconciliation before the 2022 midterms. Schumer, D-N.Y., hopes to convince the chamber’s parliamentarian to allow Democrats to use the process at least once more beyond those two opportunities, according to NBC News.\nThe party passed its $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package without a Republican vote.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":116,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":329195813,"gmtCreate":1615214226532,"gmtModify":1704779660980,"author":{"id":"3575765240573578","authorId":"3575765240573578","name":"aman0018","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d508049df448ac6d737528ee1da5974","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575765240573578","authorIdStr":"3575765240573578"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"keep going","listText":"keep going","text":"keep going","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/329195813","repostId":"1150086259","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150086259","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"为用户提供金融资讯、行情、数据,旨在帮助投资者理解世界,做投资决策。","home_visible":1,"media_name":"老虎资讯综合","id":"102","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1615214068,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150086259?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-08 22:34","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US stocks open higher:Dow rises about 170 points","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150086259","media":"老虎资讯综合","summary":"U.S. stocks edged higher on Monday after hedge fund manager David Tepper said the recent rapid rise ","content":"
U.S. stocks edged higher on Monday after hedge fund manager David Tepper said the recent rapid rise in rates is set to stabilize and it's hard to be bearish on stocks.

The S&P 500 up 0.28%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 150 points. ValuAnalysis uses price as a multiple of normalized net free cash flow as its benchmark, and identifies the imaginary dividing line between value and growth stocks at 35x, which is the market median.
\n
The value vs. growth divide would suggest that a company trading at a 17x earnings multiple is undervalued. In reality, ValuAnalysis says it is likely a company that won't grow.
\n
In reality, a stock's value is based on the company's ability to grow free cash flow in an environment where the cost of capital is 5% to 6%. So if a company isn't outpacing that by improving revenue and margins, the multiple won't increase and the stock price is unlikely to rise.
\n
Stocks that are actually undervalued will trade between 25x and 35x free cash flow, Costantini says, outpacing the cost of capital but not breaking past the market median.
\n
To have potential, a company's accumulation of assets or revenue growth must outpace increases in global gross domestic product, and ideally show signs of accelerating. There must also be an increase in operational leverage through revenue or margins. A decrease in the risk premium, such as through advances in controlling carbon emissions, helps.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; That report from the Institute for Supply Management in turn helped confirm the notion among economists that output to start the year is far better than the low single-digit growth many had been predicting in late 2020.The Atlanta Federal Reserve, which tracks data in real time to estimate changes in gross domestic product, now is indicating a 10% gain for the first three months of the year. TheGDPNow toolgenerally is volatile early in the quarter then becomes more accurate as the data rolls in through the period. That comes on the heels of a report Friday showing thatpersonal income surged 10% in January, thanks largely to $600 stimulus checks from the government. Household wealth increased nearly $2 trillion for the month while spending rose just 2.4%, or $340.9 billion. Those numbers, along with a burst of nearly $4 trillion in savings, pointed to an economy not only growing powerfully but also one that is poised to continue that path through the year.“The V-shaped recovery in real GDP will remain V-shaped during the first half of this year and probably through the end of the year,” Ed Yardeni of Yardeni Research wrote in his daily note Tuesday. “However, it will no longer be a ‘recovery’ beyond Q1 because real GDP will have fully recovered during the current quarter. Thereafter, GDP will be in an ‘expansion’ in record-high territory.”Economists previously hadn’t expected the $21.5 trillion U.S. economy to regain its pandemic-related losses until at least the second or third quarter of this year, if not later.WATCH NOWVIDEO03:21Global growth expectations are driving rates, not inflation fears, says UBS’s Alli McCartneyBut a combination of systematic resilience combined with previously unimaginable doses offiscal and monetary stimulushave helped speed the recovery along considerably. The final quarter of 2020, in which GDP increased 4.1%, left the total of goods and services produced just $270 billion shy of the same period a year previous, beforeCovid-19struck.“With strong federal fiscal support and continued progress on vaccination, GDP growth this year could be the strongest we’ve seen in decades,” New York Federal Reserve President John Williams said in a speech last week.In fact, questions persist about whether the$1.9 trillion spending planfrom the Biden administration is necessary, at least to that magnitude. An economy poised to show its fastest annual growth pace since at least 1984 doesn’t seem like a very good candidate for more spending at a time when the federal government already is expected to run a $2.3 trillion budget deficit this year.Respondents to the ISM report indicated soaring prices and trouble with supply chains, with one manager in electrical equipment, appliances and components noting: “Things are now out of control. Everything is a mess, and we are seeing wide-scale shortages.”Markets have worried lately that overheated growth could generate inflation, particulary with the Federal Reserve continuing to keep its foot on the policy pedal.“Too much of a good thing is often just too much,” Yardeni wrote. “The economy is hot and will get hotter with the bonfire of the fiscal and monetary insanities.”A major area of weaknessTo be sure, frailties remain in the economy. Paramount among them is the gap in employment, particularly in the services sector. As of January, there were 8.6 million fewer employed than there were a year ago, just before the pandemic began threatening the U.S., according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. About 4.3 million Americans have left the labor force in that time.Despitea drop in the headline unemployment ratefrom a pandemic high of 14.8% to 6.3%, employment in the hospitality sector has fallen by more than 3.8 million from a year ago, and the jobless rate for the industry is stuck at 15.9%, fully 10 percentage points higher than January 2020.“The most glaring issue with where we stand now has to be the labor market. We still have [nearly] 10 million jobs which are just simply missing,” said Troy Ludtka, U.S. economist at Natixis. “You’re going to see a situation in the coming years, looking back to this moment, where official statistics on things like food insecurity, poverty and inequality are going to reach generational highs.”However, Ludtka sees promise ahead, thanks in part to measures taken to address the ills of the current era.“The good news is that we are very quickly rebounding, and that is a sign of great promise,” he said. “We’re going to see an economy back to pre-pandemic levels of output, we’re going to see a situation in which unnecessary economic insecurity is mitigated.”There’s even some better news coming out of the jobs market, which despite the gaps that remain has recovered nearly 12.5 million nonfarm payroll jobs since the recovery began in May 2020.For one, job postings are on the rebound. Employment network Indeed reports that listings through Feb. 12 were up a seasonally adjusted 3.9% from Feb. 1, 2020, which it uses as the pre-Covid baseline. In early May 2020, postings lagged the baseline by 39%.Economists are counting on pent-up demand that vaccinations and falling coronavirus numbers will bring to drive job growth. Nonfarm payrolls for February are expected to show a gain of 210,000 when the BLS reports the numbers Friday.Questions of demand“You’re going to see the growth rates in the middle of the year probably close to 9%. That’s how strong the reopening of the U.S. economy will be vis-a-vis the release of pent-up demand by the household sector,” said Joseph Brusuelas, chief economist at RSM. “I don’t expect the pent-up demand to all be released this year. I’m expecting it to take about two years to do that, primarily because households will be somewhat cautious about the release of cash.”Indeed, the extent to which Americans in lockdown states will come rushing outside their homes when restrictions are lifted is a matter of debate.Spending on the services part of the economy “is just a different animal” than spending on goods that has boomed during the pandemic, said Liz Ann Sonders, chief investment strategist at Charles Schwab.“The whole pent-up demand is overrated, at least on the goods side of the economy. If anything, we’re going to have pent-down demand on the goods side,” Sonders said. “On the services side … it doesn’t persist for an extended period of time. If you miss four vacations, you take one.”Still, as the economic data continues to defy Wall Street estimates – to an extent unseen in pre-pandemic times – the expectations are growing that the risk to growth is clearly on the upside.Michelle Meyer, U.S. economist at Bank of America Global Research, said consumers showed tremendous resilience through the crisis that should carry over into 2021, particularly with more stimulus coming.“The important factor will be to get past the virus,” Meyer said. “All else equal, the economy is on a pretty strong foundation.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":101,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":386415195,"gmtCreate":1613242556217,"gmtModify":1704879551908,"author":{"id":"3575765240573578","authorId":"3575765240573578","name":"aman0018","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d508049df448ac6d737528ee1da5974","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575765240573578","authorIdStr":"3575765240573578"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/386415195","repostId":"2110026963","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2110026963","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1613109422,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2110026963?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-02-12 13:57","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Here's the formula for spotting genuinely undervalued companies, claims this investment house","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2110026963","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"The growth stock vs. value stock dichotomy doesn't make sense, says ValuAnalysis. A decrease in the risk premium, such as through advances in controlling carbon emissions, helps.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":133,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":364605778,"gmtCreate":1614842717494,"gmtModify":1704775892095,"author":{"id":"3575765240573578","authorId":"3575765240573578","name":"aman0018","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d508049df448ac6d737528ee1da5974","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575765240573578","authorIdStr":"3575765240573578"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please","listText":"Please","text":"Please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/364605778","repostId":"2116252489","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2116252489","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1614820800,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2116252489?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-04 09:20","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"Why the S&P 500's bull-market run probably is only getting started","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2116252489","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"It's been a year since the pandemic first blindsided the U.S., turning many jobs, forms of schooling","content":"
It's been a year since the pandemic first blindsided the U.S., turning many jobs, forms of schooling and ways of socializing into stay-at-home events.

But it's only about 11 months since the new bull market for the S&P 500 started.

That's one of two key reasons why analysts at Truist Wealth think a sustained upswing for the S&P 500 index still has room to run.

This chart shows that the S&P 500's current bull-market run may be both too short-lived and too limited, in terms of price gains, to be over anytime soon, at least if the past six decades of performance apply during a pandemic. The bars show that the average S&P 500 bull market since 1957, when the benchmark was first introduced, resulted in price gains of 179% and that the good times lasted 5.8 years on average, which compares with today's return of 76% for the benchmark in less than a year.

U.S. stocks began to swoon into correction territory some 12 months ago, after the coronavirus pandemic first began to cut off travel and trade globally, a rocky period that was followed by the major U.S. equity benchmarks carving out fresh lows in late March.

But after quickly recouping their losses in 2020, stocks this year have continued to touch a series of all-time highs, thanks in part to trillions of dollars' worth of fiscal and monetary stimulus that's been sloshing through the economy, as policy makers look to shore up households hit hard by the crisis and to keep confidence and liquidity running high on Wall Street.

More recently, those same forces also have sparked concerns that the good times, post-COVID, might already be fully baked into stock prices and other financial assets, and that high-flying equities and riskier parts of the debt market could be headed for trouble if runaway inflation takes hold, or borrowing costs for companies and consumers get too high.

The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite Index were hit by volatile patches last week, as the 10-year Treasury yield spiked, and again on Wednesday when yields on the benchmark bond were spotted about 1% higher from a year prior, or near 1.47%.

All three major stock indexes closed lower Wednesday for a second day in a row, as bond yields climbed and technology stocks again came under selling pressure.

So how does today's rise from a low-rate environment compare with the '50s?

Truist analysts also have a chart showing that the S&P 500 and 10-year Treasury yields rates rose in concert during the 1950s.

\"While there are many differences between the 1950s and today, there were some similarities, such as very high U.S. debt levels as a result of the war, an activist Fed and a postwar boom in the economy,\" wrote Keith Lerner, chief market strategist at Truist, in a Wednesday note. \"Interest rates rose from 1.5% at the beginning of the decade to nearly 5% by the end.
