As the world continues to rapidly digitize, the demand for high-quality and fast internet networks continues to increase. To this end, it's perhaps no surprise that investors have long ago understood these prospects and reflected this belief into Cloudflare's share price. In fact, Cloudflare is now priced at 53x forward sales making it one of the most expensive SaaS names.</p>\n<p>Having said that, Cloudflare's growth rates continue to be persistently high and stable. Investors interested in Cloudflare will have to adopt a firm buy-and-hold strategy.</p>\n<p><b>Voting Machine vs Weighing Machine</b></p>\n<p>Cloudflare is a Content Delivery Network (''CDN''). Its mission is to make the internet secure, faster, and more reliable.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0c97ad60d00f39022413a4453bb38d2d\" tg-width=\"635\" tg-height=\"433\"><span>Data by YCharts</span></p>\n<p>This time last year, investors were passionately clamoring for Fastly (FSLY). It was viewed by many as a company that could do no wrong. This year, it's a dramatically different setup as the graph above depicts. Fastly has fallen by the wayside, while Cloudflare is now the reigning champion.</p>\n<p>Investors are voting with their feet to exit Fastly and they are now piling in around Cloudflare.</p>\n<p>As a value investor, I would normally argue that this is likely to once again revert. Here is a quote from Horace that legendary investor Benjamin Graham's investment philosophy was based on:<i>many shall berestoredthat now are fallen and many shall fall that now are in honor.</i></p>\n<p>Having said that, for every snapping one-liner an investor might put out, the real investor's prospects lie in doing the work and attempting to discern the underlying opportunity.</p>\n<p><b>Cloudflare is a High-Quality Business</b></p>\n<p>Cloudflare's non-GAAP gross margins are not only incredibly high, but they are highly stable too.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/161c2d74e08d4ccf531ab30182bd8a62\" tg-width=\"747\" tg-height=\"613\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p>\n<p>As a reminder, this compares with Fastly's60.1%as of Q1 2021. On the surface, this is incredibly alluring and is a typical indicator of a high-quality business.</p>\n<p>On the other hand, as we look out to Cloudflare's full-year guidance, its non-GAAP operating margins are expected to come in at<i>a negative 4%</i>. Of course, this is a substantial improvement from the negative 8% from 2020 and puts Cloudflare very close to breakeven.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8a369e8d30ed6115c1e05ca0b8310f0a\" tg-width=\"516\" tg-height=\"237\"><span>Source: Long-Term Model</span></p>\n<p>Nevertheless, to go from<i>negative 4% to positive +20% in operating margins is a very steep climb</i>. So, investors should be cautious and take this guide with a pinch of salt.</p>\n<p>Moving on, its latest sets of results put Cloudflare's dollar-based net retention at 123%. This is an important metric because it not only shows that the company's customer base is sticky but reminds us that Cloudflare is capable of upselling 23% more services to its customers y/y.</p>\n<p>This insight, together with the fact that Cloudflare's paying customers continue to increase, should provide investors with confidence that Cloudflare's business is very healthy, as its revenues are increasing by a mixture of increasing customers and higher prices:</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6a4e8e1944ecc73a022a5710a3dc07ad\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"559\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p>\n<p>Revenue Growth Rates: Strong and Stable</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fdc3dff42f73ccfdfc3b2b4f9a0eb65a\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"285\"><span>Source: author's calculations; **company guidance</span></p>\n<p>Next, we can see above that Cloudflare continues to guide investors for mid-40s% CAGR - at least in the near term.</p>\n<p>Furthermore, knowing how conservative this management is, I suspect that Cloudflare will easily beat these targets and will perhaps even raise its guidance over the coming year.</p>\n<p>Nonetheless, we have to keep in mind that we are still discussing a company that's likely to finish 2021 with close to $600 million in revenues. In other words, growing at mid 40s% while the company is at sub $1 billion in revenues, and continuing to grow at mid-40s% at higher than $1 billion in revenues, it's quite a different feat. At some point, size takes a toll.</p>\n<p><b>Valuation - Not Cheap</b></p>\n<p>Cloudflare is priced at 53x forward sales. This implies that optimism towards Cloudflare is incredibly high. Even amongst SaaS names, I believe this is an outlier. I follow many companies in this space and I don't know of any that are priced as richly as this.</p>\n<p>The obvious comparison here is Fastly which is priced at 18x forward sales. But even amongst the cybersecurity names, a sector that is wildly known for its exuberant valuations the likes of CrowdStrike (CRWD) is priced at 42x sales.</p>\n<p><b>The Bottom Line</b></p>\n<p>Cloudflare is remarkably stable and growing at a rapid rate. Its valuation is not cheap at 53x sales, but there again high-quality companies rarely are. Investors intent on taking a position here may consider buying in dips.</p>\n<p>Having said that, I prefer to stick to companies with more hairs on them and more cheaply valued. In other words, some folks view tokens like Bitcoin and Dogecoin as the future global currencies, but virtually nothing has suggested that this will come to fruition.</p>\n<p>The reality is that digital currencies are virtually useless outside of a cryptocurrency exchange. Bitcoin has been stuck handling 250,000 to 300,000 transactions daily for years, while Dogecoin has been averaging closer to 30,000 daily transactions of late. For comparison's sake, payment-processing giants <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/V\">Visa</a></b>&nbsp;and <b>Mastercard</b>&nbsp;handled 700 million transactions daily on a combined basis in 2018.</p>\n<p>To build on this point, Fundera estimated earlier this year that only around 15,200 businesses worldwide accepted Bitcoin. Meanwhile, online business directory Cryptwerk finds that Dogecoin is accepted by 1,400 companies. For context, there are more than 32 million businesses in the U.S., and an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide. There simply isn't the broad-based adoption that's being hyped by cryptocurrency supporters.</p>\n<p>At the same time, blockchain technology is caught in a Catch-22. Blockchain being the transparent and immutable underlying ledger of digital currencies that logs transactions. No business is willing to abandon time-tested infrastructure in favor of blockchain until it's demonstrated that blockchain can be scaled in the real world. At the same time, there won't be any evidence that blockchain is revolutionary if no businesses are willing to be an early stage guinea pig, so to speak.</p>\n<p>History unequivocally shows that all bubbles eventually burst, without exception. That's the fate awaiting cryptocurrencies.</p>\n<h2>Dump digital currencies in favor of this fast-growing trio</h2>\n<p>Rather than put your money to work in an asset class that's being driven by hype and emotion, my suggestion would be to buy the following trio of supercharged stocks. If you buy stakes in innovative businesses whose products and services have growing real-world application, and you hold these stakes for long periods of time, you'll very likely get rich.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16ca48e46c5ed915bdfaeb115d44e553\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"467\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>Etsy</h2>\n<p>To begin with, e-commerce platform <b>Etsy</b> (NASDAQ:ETSY) will have long-term investors forgetting all about the volatility and hype associated with digital currencies.</p>\n<p>To state the obvious, Etsy was a clear winner of the coronavirus pandemic. With people stuck in their homes, many turned online to buy basic-need and discretionary goods. For Etsy, this included a healthy uptick in sales from facial coverings. But the Etsy platform has <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> key advantage that not even <b>Amazon</b>&nbsp;looks to be a threat to: personalization.</p>\n<p>Etsy's platform is built on the idea of putting customers in contact with small merchants who can, if needed, customize their order. Etsy's collection of merchants focuses on personal engagement and uniqueness that shoppers simply won't find on bigger e-commerce platforms. The proof is in the pudding that Etsy's platform is resonating with shoppers. Habitual buyer spending -- those who purchased at least six separate times totaling more than $200, in aggregate, over the trailing year -- has been rocketing higher. Habitual buyers spent 205% more in the first quarter of 2021 than they did in the prior-year quarter.</p>\n<p>Since Etsy generates the bulk of its revenue from merchant ads, the company has also been aggressively reinvesting in its platform to streamline searches and keep users engaged. Last year, it introduced listing videos to promote products, and it's been giving its smaller merchants greater access to analytic tools.</p>\n<p>It's not out of the question that Etsy triples its annual revenue by mid-decade.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/95488cfb7d1265a9ff2f104768cae97b\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"464\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>Sea Limited</h2>\n<p>Another supercharged growth stock that can make investors rich is Singapore-based <b>Sea Limited</b> (NYSE:SE). Even though Sea is far from inexpensive, the premium you'd be paying takes into account that it has three exceptionally fast-growing operating segments.</p>\n<p>For the time being, Sea is generating virtually all of its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) from its gaming division. Similar to online shopping, gaming benefited notably from people being stuck in their homes. Since Sea's mobile games target global audiences, and the pandemic is nowhere near over in many parts of the world, demand for gaming entertainment will likely remain robust. Over the past year (through the end of March), quarterly active paying users grew by 124%, with 12.3% of the company's total gamers now paying to play.</p>\n<p>Over the long run, Sea's crown jewel should be its e-commerce platform Shopee, which is consistently the most-popular shopping download in Southeastern Asia, and is gaining significant traction in Brazil. With a focus on emerging markets and regions where the middle class is growing at an incredible rate, Shopee saw gross orders jump 153% in the first quarter, with the gross merchandise value of these orders doubling to $12.6 billion. This is just the tip of the iceberg.</p>\n<p>Lastly, Sea's digital financial services division is bringing mobile wallet services to underbanked regions. Mobile wallet payment volume is on pace to potentially surpass $14 billion in 2021, with more than 26 million paying customers in Q1.</p>\n<p>If all goes well, Sea Limited's revenue could possibly quintuple over the next four years.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e68ecb34d6e4fd6f7dc599908229a09a\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"449\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>CrowdStrike Holdings</h2>\n<p>Cybersecurity stock <b>CrowdStrike Holdings</b> (NASDAQ:CRWD) is a third supercharged growth company that can easily outpace the returns from the cryptocurrency industry over the long run.</p>\n<p>Cybersecurity might not be the fastest-growing industry over the next decade, but it could very well be the safest double-digit growth opportunity. With more businesses than ever shifting their data online and into the cloud due to the pandemic, the importance of protecting enterprise and consumer data is greater than ever before. In short, demand for third-party cybersecurity solutions providers is soaring.</p>\n<p>While there is no shortage of cybersecurity specialists to choose from, what sets CrowdStrike apart is its cloud-native Falcon platform. Being built in the cloud, and relying on artificial intelligence, Falcon oversees approximately 6 trillion events each week. This is to say that CrowdStrike's core platform is getting smarter at recognizing and responding to potential threats over time. And in many instances, CrowdStrike's solutions are more efficient and cost-effective than on-premises security options.</p>\n<p>It's plainly evident from the company's operating results that Falcon is resonating with enterprise customers. It's been able to retain 98% of its customers for two consecutive years, and existing clients have spent between 23% and 47% more on a year-over-year basis for 12 straight quarters. Arguably even more impressive is that 64% of customers have purchased four or more cloud-module subscriptions, which is up from 9% just four years ago. After watching Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) rise from $1 to $40,000 in a little over a decade, and seeing Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) gallop higher by 27,000% in a six-month span, investors are feeling compelled to chase the momentum in the crypto space.\nUnfortunately, this could prove to be a huge mistake.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThe cryptocurrency bubble is eventually going to burst\nWhile there's no denying that cryptocurrency has delivered some game-changing returns, most of this upside has been built on unsubstantiated hype. In other words, some folks view tokens like Bitcoin and Dogecoin as the future global currencies, but virtually nothing has suggested that this will come to fruition.\nThe reality is that digital currencies are virtually useless outside of a cryptocurrency exchange. Bitcoin has been stuck handling 250,000 to 300,000 transactions daily for years, while Dogecoin has been averaging closer to 30,000 daily transactions of late. For comparison's sake, payment-processing giants Visa and Mastercard handled 700 million transactions daily on a combined basis in 2018.\nTo build on this point, Fundera estimated earlier this year that only around 15,200 businesses worldwide accepted Bitcoin. Meanwhile, online business directory Cryptwerk finds that Dogecoin is accepted by 1,400 companies. For context, there are more than 32 million businesses in the U.S., and an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide. There simply isn't the broad-based adoption that's being hyped by cryptocurrency supporters.\nAt the same time, blockchain technology is caught in a Catch-22. Blockchain being the transparent and immutable underlying ledger of digital currencies that logs transactions. No business is willing to abandon time-tested infrastructure in favor of blockchain until it's demonstrated that blockchain can be scaled in the real world. At the same time, there won't be any evidence that blockchain is revolutionary if no businesses are willing to be an early stage guinea pig, so to speak.\nHistory unequivocally shows that all bubbles eventually burst, without exception. That's the fate awaiting cryptocurrencies.\nDump digital currencies in favor of this fast-growing trio\nRather than put your money to work in an asset class that's being driven by hype and emotion, my suggestion would be to buy the following trio of supercharged stocks. If you buy stakes in innovative businesses whose products and services have growing real-world application, and you hold these stakes for long periods of time, you'll very likely get rich.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nEtsy\nTo begin with, e-commerce platform Etsy (NASDAQ:ETSY) will have long-term investors forgetting all about the volatility and hype associated with digital currencies.\nTo state the obvious, Etsy was a clear winner of the coronavirus pandemic. With people stuck in their homes, many turned online to buy basic-need and discretionary goods. For Etsy, this included a healthy uptick in sales from facial coverings. But the Etsy platform has one key advantage that not even Amazon looks to be a threat to: personalization.\nEtsy's platform is built on the idea of putting customers in contact with small merchants who can, if needed, customize their order. Etsy's collection of merchants focuses on personal engagement and uniqueness that shoppers simply won't find on bigger e-commerce platforms. The proof is in the pudding that Etsy's platform is resonating with shoppers. Habitual buyer spending -- those who purchased at least six separate times totaling more than $200, in aggregate, over the trailing year -- has been rocketing higher. Habitual buyers spent 205% more in the first quarter of 2021 than they did in the prior-year quarter.\nSince Etsy generates the bulk of its revenue from merchant ads, the company has also been aggressively reinvesting in its platform to streamline searches and keep users engaged. Even though Sea is far from inexpensive, the premium you'd be paying takes into account that it has three exceptionally fast-growing operating segments.\nFor the time being, Sea is generating virtually all of its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) from its gaming division. Similar to online shopping, gaming benefited notably from people being stuck in their homes. Since Sea's mobile games target global audiences, and the pandemic is nowhere near over in many parts of the world, demand for gaming entertainment will likely remain robust. Over the past year (through the end of March), quarterly active paying users grew by 124%, with 12.3% of the company's total gamers now paying to play.\nOver the long run, Sea's crown jewel should be its e-commerce platform Shopee, which is consistently the most-popular shopping download in Southeastern Asia, and is gaining significant traction in Brazil. With a focus on emerging markets and regions where the middle class is growing at an incredible rate, Shopee saw gross orders jump 153% in the first quarter, with the gross merchandise value of these orders doubling to $12.6 billion. This is just the tip of the iceberg.\nLastly, Sea's digital financial services division is bringing mobile wallet services to underbanked regions. Top legacy automakers are all looking to grab the BEV and FCEV market opportunities. <b>Hyundai Motor</b>, <b>Toyota Motor, </b>and<b> General Motors </b>are among the automakers working on fuel cell electric trucks. However, it faces competition even in this segment from legacy automakers. Moreover, advancements in batteries and availability of charging infrastructure may erase those benefits, too. Volkswagen's Scania has already launched battery electric trucks while Tesla plans to launch its battery-powered semitruck soon.</p>\n<h3>Lack of trust is a key issue</h3>\n<p>In addition to stiff competition and uncertainty surrounding the pace of growth of FCEVs, a key risk to consider relates to Nikola's management. The company has made false claims about its technology earlier that led to the departure of its founder. With that background, the potential successful launch of its very first truck itself remains questionable.</p>\n<p>Let's assume that the new management is more committed to the company and its shareholders. Still, Nikola stock has a market capitalization of around $6.7 billion. Even with its sales target of around $3.2 billion for 2024 that the company provided at the time of listing, the current price implies a price-to-sales ratio of more than two. Apart from Tesla, all legacy automakers working on electric trucks have a price-to-sales ratio below <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a>.</p>\n<p>Nikola is still pre-revenue and has yet to deliver its first truck. Its ratio is based on sales more than three years down the line. Production delays are quite common for auto start-ups and the sales number looks optimistic. The company has already revised down its projected 2021 revenue from the previously announced $150 million to $30 million. In fact, the lower end of the guidance is revised to $15 million for the year. But even $30 million is <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a>-fifth of what it had earlier guided. Lower expected revenue makes the price-to-sales ratio even higher.</p>\n<p>Nikola seems to progressing, albeit slowly, in the right direction. However, with Nikola's past troubles and the risks it faces, it is difficult to assume that it will deliver what it is promising. &nbsp;I would consider the stock only when it starts production and delivers trucks that meet safety and performance benchmarks. In other words, some folks view tokens like Bitcoin and Dogecoin as the future global currencies, but virtually nothing has suggested that this will come to fruition.</p>\n<p>The reality is that digital currencies are virtually useless outside of a cryptocurrency exchange. Bitcoin has been stuck handling 250,000 to 300,000 transactions daily for years, while Dogecoin has been averaging closer to 30,000 daily transactions of late. For comparison's sake, payment-processing giants <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/V\">Visa</a></b>&nbsp;and <b>Mastercard</b>&nbsp;handled 700 million transactions daily on a combined basis in 2018.</p>\n<p>To build on this point, Fundera estimated earlier this year that only around 15,200 businesses worldwide accepted Bitcoin. Meanwhile, online business directory Cryptwerk finds that Dogecoin is accepted by 1,400 companies. For context, there are more than 32 million businesses in the U.S., and an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide. There simply isn't the broad-based adoption that's being hyped by cryptocurrency supporters.</p>\n<p>At the same time, blockchain technology is caught in a Catch-22. Blockchain being the transparent and immutable underlying ledger of digital currencies that logs transactions. No business is willing to abandon time-tested infrastructure in favor of blockchain until it's demonstrated that blockchain can be scaled in the real world. At the same time, there won't be any evidence that blockchain is revolutionary if no businesses are willing to be an early stage guinea pig, so to speak.</p>\n<p>History unequivocally shows that all bubbles eventually burst, without exception. That's the fate awaiting cryptocurrencies.</p>\n<h2>Dump digital currencies in favor of this fast-growing trio</h2>\n<p>Rather than put your money to work in an asset class that's being driven by hype and emotion, my suggestion would be to buy the following trio of supercharged stocks. If you buy stakes in innovative businesses whose products and services have growing real-world application, and you hold these stakes for long periods of time, you'll very likely get rich.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16ca48e46c5ed915bdfaeb115d44e553\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"467\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>Etsy</h2>\n<p>To begin with, e-commerce platform <b>Etsy</b> (NASDAQ:ETSY) will have long-term investors forgetting all about the volatility and hype associated with digital currencies.</p>\n<p>To state the obvious, Etsy was a clear winner of the coronavirus pandemic. With people stuck in their homes, many turned online to buy basic-need and discretionary goods. For Etsy, this included a healthy uptick in sales from facial coverings. But the Etsy platform has <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> key advantage that not even <b>Amazon</b>&nbsp;looks to be a threat to: personalization.</p>\n<p>Etsy's platform is built on the idea of putting customers in contact with small merchants who can, if needed, customize their order. Etsy's collection of merchants focuses on personal engagement and uniqueness that shoppers simply won't find on bigger e-commerce platforms. The proof is in the pudding that Etsy's platform is resonating with shoppers. Habitual buyer spending -- those who purchased at least six separate times totaling more than $200, in aggregate, over the trailing year -- has been rocketing higher. Habitual buyers spent 205% more in the first quarter of 2021 than they did in the prior-year quarter.</p>\n<p>Since Etsy generates the bulk of its revenue from merchant ads, the company has also been aggressively reinvesting in its platform to streamline searches and keep users engaged. In other words, some folks view tokens like Bitcoin and Dogecoin as the future global currencies, but virtually nothing has suggested that this will come to fruition.\nThe reality is that digital currencies are virtually useless outside of a cryptocurrency exchange. Bitcoin has been stuck handling 250,000 to 300,000 transactions daily for years, while Dogecoin has been averaging closer to 30,000 daily transactions of late. For comparison's sake, payment-processing giants Visa and Mastercard handled 700 million transactions daily on a combined basis in 2018.\nTo build on this point, Fundera estimated earlier this year that only around 15,200 businesses worldwide accepted Bitcoin. Meanwhile, online business directory Cryptwerk finds that Dogecoin is accepted by 1,400 companies. For context, there are more than 32 million businesses in the U.S., and an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide. There simply isn't the broad-based adoption that's being hyped by cryptocurrency supporters.\nAt the same time, blockchain technology is caught in a Catch-22. Blockchain being the transparent and immutable underlying ledger of digital currencies that logs transactions. No business is willing to abandon time-tested infrastructure in favor of blockchain until it's demonstrated that blockchain can be scaled in the real world. At the same time, there won't be any evidence that blockchain is revolutionary if no businesses are willing to be an early stage guinea pig, so to speak.\nHistory unequivocally shows that all bubbles eventually burst, without exception. However, the company released updated guidance on Monday that showed wider margins for the second quarter than previous projections.\nAnalyst Stephen Trent upgraded the stock to buy from neutral, saying in a note to clients on Tuesday that the stock’s recent struggles “opened value in the shares” and the updated guidance helped to convince him it was time to buy the dip.\n“Forecast adjustments for Spirit Airlines include the incorporation of stronger, expected unit revenue, higher forecasted growth in available seat miles, but with this growth only partially tempered by lower ’21E efficiency gains and higher fuel into our model,” the note said.\nThe positive guidance on revenue outweighs higher guidance on the cost side, Citi said.\n“Costs associated with re-starting some operations look poised to pressure ex-fuel [cost per available seat mile] more than we had previously anticipated, while fuel prices keep rising.
