The print is expected to show an acceleration in rehiring and a step lower in the unemployment rate, helping alleviate some of the labor shortages reported across the economy as of late.
\n
Non-farm payrolls likely grew by 700,000 in June, according to Bloomberg consensus data. This would accelerate from the 559,000 added back in May and mark the biggest rise since March. And the unemployment rate is expected to move down to 5.6% from 5.8% in May, bringing the jobless rate closer to its pre-pandemic, 50-year low of 3.5%.
\n
\"Payrolls probably surged again in June, with the pace up from the +559,000 in May,\" TD Securities strategists wrote in a note Friday. \"Some acceleration in the private sector is suggested by the Homebase data, while government payrolls probably benefited from fewer than usual end-of-school-year layoffs.\"
\n
Even with a sizable monthly payroll gain, the economy would still be well off its pre-pandemic levels of employment. Heading into June, the U.S. economy was still down by more than 7 million payrolls compared to February 2020, with the deficit most pronounced in high-contact services industries like restaurants and hotels.
\n
But both services and manufacturing companies have cited shortages of qualified workers to fill open positions, which hit a record high of over 9 million as of latest data. These supply-and-demand mismatches in the labor market – with shortages noted by firms from FedEx (FDX) to Yum Brands (YUM) — have also begun to push wages higher and created additional costs for businesses. In Friday's report, average hourly earnings are expected to jump 3.6% year-on-year for June, accelerating from May's 2% increase.
\n
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 03: A pedestrian walks by a Now Hiring sign outside of a Lamps Plus store on June 03, 2021 in San Francisco, California. Many have agreed that a combination of childcare concerns, fears of contracting COVID-19 and ongoing enhanced federal unemployment benefits have contributed to the still-elevated levels of joblessness, but that each of these should diminish as schools reopen, vaccinations continue and jobless benefits get phased out over the next several months.
\n
\"Labor supply may soon pick up,\" Meyer said. \"We find evidence of a quicker drop in unemployment insurance (UI) applications in states that discontinued generous federal UI benefits.\"
\n
\"Four states — Alaska, Iowa, Mississippi and Missouri — opted out in June 12 and UI applications in those states have fallen faster compared to other states, according to the latest initial jobless claims figures,\" she added. \"With another eight states opting out in the week ending June 19 and a total of 25 states by end of the summer, more workers should return to the workforce, helping to ease wage pressures and help meet the strong labor demand in the economy.\"
\n
Consumer confidence
\n

\n
Another closely watched economic data print this week will be the Conference Board's June consumer confidence index, which is expected to reflect a strong pick-up in sentiment during the recovery and heading into the summer. This would mark the highest level since February 2020's 132.6, which itself had been a near two-decade high.
\n
Like investors, consumers have begun to warm to the notion that inflationary pressures seen during the early stages of the economic recovery may prove transitory. This has helped raise consumers' future expectations for their spending power and boosted sentiment at large, according to other consumer sentiment surveys including the University of Michigan's Surveys of Consumers.
\n
Not only did year-ahead inflation expectations fall slightly to 4.2% in June from May's decade peak of 4.6%, consumers also believed that the price surges will mostly be temporary,\" Richard Curtin, chief economist for the Surveys of Consumers, said on Friday.
\n
\"When the pandemic first started, consumers were quite uncertain about their job and income prospects, but reported widespread declines in market prices for homes, vehicles, and household durables,\" he added. \"Those favorable price references have dropped to the most negative in a decade, and job and income prospects have improved, but not quite as favorable as in the last few years of the prior expansion.\"
\n
Still, in a sign of some downside risk in Tuesday's report from the Conference Board, the University of Michigan's June final sentiment index edged lower to 85.5, coming in below the 86.4 preliminary print, but still above May's reading of 82.9.
\n
Economic Calendar
\n
\n

Monday: Dallas Fed Manufacturing Activity Index, June (32.5 expected, 34.9 in May)

\n

Tuesday: FHFA House Price Index, month-on-month, April (1.7% expected, 1.4% in March); We might not be able to pinpoint when it'll happen, but history is pretty clear that crashes and corrections are inevitable parts of the investing cycle.
\n
All signs point to a crash or steep correction in the not-so-distant future
\n
As an example, we can look back more than six decades and see that no rebound from a bear-market bottom has ever been this robust or smooth. In the three years following each of the previous eight bear-market bottoms, there were either one or two double-digit percentage declines in the benchmark S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC). In other words, rebounding from a bear market is a process that doesn't result in straight-line moves higher, which is what we've witnessed over the past 15 months.
\n
If you need more evidence, take a closer look at the S&P 500's Shiller price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio, which examines inflation-adjusted earnings over the previous 10 years. As of Monday, June 21, its Shiller P/E of 37.5 is 123% higher than the 151-year average. Even more telling, the S&P has subsequently shed at least 20% of its value in the previous four instances where the Shiller P/E has topped 30 and sustained it. In this instance, history is most definitely not on the market's side.
\n
The use of margin is equally concerning. Market analytics company Yardeni Research notes that margin debt in May 2021 climbed to a new high of almost $862 billion, and is up around 60% from the prior-year period. Over the past 25 years, there have been only three instances where margin debt increased by 60% on a year-over-year basis. In the previous two instances (the dot-com bubble and the Great Recession), the S&P 500 went on to lose around half its value.
\n
All signs are suggesting that, sooner rather than later, the stock market is going to crash or correct steeply.
\n
These surefire stocks can make you rich
\n
Though this might be unnerving to some folks, it's also an incredible opportunity. That's because crashes and corrections are usually short-lived events. They also have a perfect track record of eventually being erased by bull market rallies. As long as you're buying high-quality companies and holding on to your investments for the long term, steep declines represent the perfect times to put your money to work in the stock market.
\n
When the next crash does inevitably arrive, the following four surefire stocks should make investors a lot richer.
\n
Alphabet
\n
The idea of buying a company that relies heavily on advertising during periods when the U.S. economy could be in recession might sound odd. But let me assure you, Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL)(NASDAQ:GOOG) is exactly the type of dominant company you'll want to add during periods of heightened volatility.
\n
Long-term investors buying Alphabet would benefit from two factors. First, recessions and crashes/corrections tend to be short-lived. By comparison, periods of economic expansion usually last multiple years, if not a decade. Alphabet simply bides its time during these short downtrends, then basks in double-digit growth and strong ad-pricing power for its Google internet search platform during long-winded expansions. According to GlobalStats, Google has controlled between 91% and 93% of worldwide internet-search share over the past two years.
\n
The second reason Alphabet is such a surefire stock to buy during a crash is its innovation. Content-streaming platform YouTube is now one of the three most-visited social sites in the world. Meanwhile, its cloud infrastructure services segment Google Cloud has been consistently growing at close to 50% on a year-over-year basis. Google Cloud will be especially helpful by mid-decade, with the higher margins from infrastructure services helping to catapult Alphabet's operating cash flow.
\n
Innovative Industrial Properties
\n
Another surefire opportunity can be found with cannabis-focused real estate investment trust (REIT) Innovative Industrial Properties (NYSE:IIPR). Innovative Industrial, or IIP for short, acquires facilities for growing and processing medical marijuana with the purpose of leasing these assets out for long periods of time.
\n
One of the more obvious benefits of this strategy is that it generates highly predictable cash flow. IIP owned 72 properties spanning 6.6 million square feet of rentable space in 18 states as of the beginning of June. According to the company, 100% of its properties are leased with a weighted-average lease of 16.8 years. It'll likely take less than half this time for the company to receive a complete payback on its $1.6 billion in invested capital. Plus, IIP passes along inflation-based rent hikes annually to its tenants, ensuring a very modest level of organic rental growth.
\n
What's more, Innovative Industrial is benefiting from federal gridlock on cannabis banking reform. Since marijuana is illegal at the federal level, pot companies have struggled to gain access to basic banking services. IIP resolves this issue with its sale-leaseback program. With this program, IIP acquires properties from multistate operators (MSO) for cash and immediately leases the property it buys back to the seller. This innovative program gives MSOs access to cash, while netting IIP long-term tenants.
\n
UnitedHealth Group
\n
Healthcare stocks are an incredibly smart place to put your money to work during a crash or steep correction. That's because the healthcare sector is defensive. Since we don't get to choose when we get sick or what ailment(s) we develop, there will always be demand for drugs, devices, and other healthcare services no matter how well or poorly the economy (or stock market) is performing. It's a big reason UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) is such a winner.
\n
Here's a little something you might not know: Only a handful of stocks have delivered a positive total return (including dividends paid) in each of the past 12 years since the Great Recession. UnitedHealth Group is one of those 12, and its health-benefits segment is a key reason. Providing health insurance often leads to predictable cash flow and strong premium-pricing power. Even with this pricing power somewhat limited by the Affordable Care Act, UnitedHealth is bringing in more than enough new members that it remains a very profitable segment.
\n
The other major growth driver for UnitedHealth Group is its healthcare services subsidiary Optum. It provides everything from pharmacy-benefit manager services to data analytics used by hospitals and health-centric organizations. Optum has actually been UnitedHealth's faster-growing operating segment, and it's the better bet to deliver superior long-term operating margins.
\n
Salesforce
\n
A fourth surefire stock you can comfortably buy if a stock market crash or steep correction strikes is salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM), which provides cloud-based customer-relationship management (CRM) software. It's used by consumer-facing businesses to enter customer information, handle product/service issues, manage online marketing campaigns, and even offer predictive sales analysis in real time.
\n
Through the midpoint of the decade, global CRM revenue is projected to rise annually by a low double-digit percentage. Salesforce, on the other hand, will be growing even faster. CEO Marc Benioff foresees his company increasing its full-year sales from $21.3 billion in its most recent fiscal year to more than $50 billion in five years (fiscal 2026). That's certainly easy to do when his company controls nearly 20% of worldwide CRM revenue as of the first half of 2020, per IDC. That's more than its four closest competitors, combined!
\n
Salesforce also has a knack for integrating acquisitions and using buyouts as a platform to expand its offerings or cross-sell its solutions. It has a $27.7 billion pending cash-and-stock deal in place to acquire Slack Technologies. Though this deal does open a new revenue channel for Salesforce, it's really all about the new exposure to small and medium-size businesses, as well as the ability to use Slack's platform to cross-sell its CRM solutions.
\n
In short, Salesforce isn't going to be fazed by a short-term crash or correction, which makes it a smart buy for investors.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
A Stock Market Crash Is Inevitable: 4 Surefire Stocks to Buy When It Happens
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nA Stock Market Crash Is Inevitable: 4 Surefire Stocks to Buy When It Happens\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-28 11:32 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
They're the three words that can ruin an investor's day: stock market crash.\nAlthough talking about a stock market crash might be considered taboo, the fact is: A crash is on its way. As long as the S&P 500SPXindex remains above 3,800 points, “the bull market is alive and well,” he said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":454,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":321421460,"gmtCreate":1615463824850,"gmtModify":1704783090408,"author":{"id":"3576741805415587","authorId":"3576741805415587","name":"Syahirella","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a436c269bf39762d88232f913ab309f9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576741805415587","authorIdStr":"3576741805415587"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/321421460","repostId":"1148700766","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":253,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":364413188,"gmtCreate":1614869524844,"gmtModify":1704776328853,"author":{"id":"3576741805415587","authorId":"3576741805415587","name":"Syahirella","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a436c269bf39762d88232f913ab309f9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576741805415587","authorIdStr":"3576741805415587"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"buy","listText":"buy","text":"buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/364413188","repostId":"1109456421","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":437,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":127749164,"gmtCreate":1624871149258,"gmtModify":1703846679018,"author":{"id":"3576741805415587","authorId":"3576741805415587","name":"Syahirella","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a436c269bf39762d88232f913ab309f9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576741805415587","authorIdStr":"3576741805415587"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment pls!!! These include Unity Software (NYSE:U), JD.com (NASDAQ:JD), and Roblox (NYSE:RBLX). Here's why three Motley Fool contributors think investors should consider buying these stocks now.
\n
\n
Tapping video games, 3D creation, virtual reality, and more
\n
Danny Vena (Unity Software): One stock Cathie Wood has been buying hand over fist in recent weeks is Unity Software. Wood has added to already substantial positions in four of ARK's six flagship ETFs, making Unity a top 10 position in three of them. All told, the four funds own more than 10.6 million shares of the stock, worth more than $1.2 billion.
\n
It's easy to see why Wood is so enthusiastic about Unity Software. The company provides the world's leading platform for creating and operating interactive, real-time 3D content. It offers a comprehensive set of tools and software that help developers create 2D and 3D content for mobile phones, tablets, PCs, and consoles, as well as augmented reality and virtual reality devices.
\n
Unity has unrivaled scale and reach. In fact, 53% of the top 1,000 mobile games on Apple's App Store and Alphabet's Google Play store -- as well as over 50% of mobile games, PC games, and console games combined -- are made using Unity's platform. The company boasts 1.5 million monthly active creators in 190 countries, who account for more than 3 billion app downloads per month.
\n
What attracts developers to Unity is the ability to see and modify their creations in real time. This results in a significant decrease in design and development time, making developers more productive. It also helps them react and adapt their games and apps to end-user feedback, again in real time. Games built on Unity's platform can be created once and instantly deployed across more than 20 popular platforms, including Microsoft Windows and Xbox, Sony PlayStation, Mac, iOS, and Android, among others.
\n
Unity's full-year revenue for 2020 increased 43% year over year to $772 million. That strong growth continued into the first quarter, with revenue of $235 million up 41%. Like many early stage, high-growth companies, Unity is awash in red ink, but the news isn't all bad. Adjusting for one-time IPO-related charges, its 2020 operating loss improved by 45%.
\n
Wood has other reasons for investing heavily in Unity Software. In ARK Invest's Big Ideas for 2021 report, she pointed out that revenue from virtual worlds -- which include video games, augmented reality, and virtual reality -- is expected to grow at 17% annually over the next several years, from $180 billion today to $390 billion by 2025. With its unique position in a large and growing ecosystem, Unity could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this accelerating trend.
\n
Lastly, Unity Software's stock is currently available at a bargain basement price, selling for 31% off its recent highs.
\n
\n
Maybe it's time to get in on this e-commerce leader
\n
Brian Withers (JD): JD.com seems to be a Cathie Wood favorite. Not surprisingly, it's the second-largest holding in the ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF, as the leading Chinese retailer depends on robotics technology for warehousing functions and even last-mile delivery. But this technology-first company is also a holding in three other ARK ETFs. Let's look at why Wood has added more shares in the last several weeks.
\n
First, the stock is down more than 30% off its high, and not because the business is doing poorly. In fact, the company just put up stellar first-quarter results. Second, the ARK funds have owned shares of JD since mid-2017, and in the first quarter, the funds more than doubled the share count over the quarter. It's likely these buys over the course of this year and the recent purchases show that they are excited about the company's performance, long-term prospects, and valuation.
\n
Let's look at its most recent quarter. Not surprisingly, the top line decreased sequentially from the holiday quarter, but managed to beat analysts' expectations and post a 39% year-over-year increase. The company income from operations remains in the black, but still runs thin margins as it is investing profits into growth efforts. Lastly and probably most exciting to investors is that the platform continues to attract customers at a rapid pace, even with hundreds of millions already on the platform.
\n
\n
\n
\n

Metrics

\n

Q1 FY2020

\n

Q4 FY2020

\n

Q1 FY2021

\n

QOQ Change (Decline)

\n

YOY Change

\n
\n
\n
\n
\n

Revenue

\n

$20.6 billion

\n

$34.4 billion

\n

$31.0 billion

\n

(10%)

\n

39%

\n
\n
\n

Income from operations

\n

$328 million

\n

$91 million

\n

$253 million

\n

178%

\n

(23%)

\n
\n
\n

Active customer accounts

\n

387 million

\n

472 million

\n

500 million

\n

6%

\n

29%

\n
\n
\n
\n
Data source: Company earnings release. QOQ = quarter over quarter. YOY = year over year.
\n
Looking ahead, the company is deepening its reach into rural China. Over the past 12 months, more than 80% of its 112 million new active customers have come from lower-tier markets. And the company is expanding its footprint to better serve those regions. With its more than 1,000 warehouses across the region, its logistics team can now reach almost the entire country with rapid delivery services. Lastly, it's newly formed business group, Jingxi, is set up to serve price-sensitive customers in lower-tier regions. In its first quarter of operation, Jingxi served 17 provinces with its e-commerce operations.
\n
There's lots to like about this leading Chinese e-commerce retailer's business, especially with its stock trading at reasonable valuations. Compared to Sea Limited's lofty price-to-sales ratio of 25 and MercadoLibre's 16, JD shares are valued at a 1 P/S ratio. Additionally, it has a P/E ratio of a cool 15, whereas its Latin American and Southeast Asian counterparts don't have earnings to record a P/E ratio.
\n
It's no wonder that the Cathie Wood and the ARK investment team are adding to their position with the shares at a discount to its recent high. Maybe it's time you did the same?
\n
\n
This video game stock is anything but child's play
\n
Chris Neiger (Roblox): Roblox is a popular video game platform that not only allows users to play games but also to create their own games -- and it's been a massive success so far.
\n
Cathie Wood has taken notice of the company as well and bought more shares of Roblox just last week. The stock is down about 4% over the past 30 days, which might have spurred Wood's funds to add to their Roblox position.
\n
And investors may be wise to follow in Wood's footsteps. Roblox has created a video game platform unlike anything its competitors have, and is adding new players and increasing platform engagement at a healthy clip.
\n
Roblox has more than 43 million daily active users, 8 million developers creating games on its platform, and 100 million global active users.
\n
In the most recent quarter, sales spiked 140% from the year-ago quarter, and its users spent 9.8 billion hours engaged with the platform, an increase of 98% year over year.
\n
Investors should know that this company isn't profitable (it posted a loss of $134 million in the most recent quarter), and it just went public back in March. Both of these factors mean that the share price could be volatile in the short term as the company continues to grow.
\n
But the long-term potential for this company is firmly intact. Roblox is tapping into the fast-growing video game market that's estimated to increase from $157 billion last year to $293 billion by 2027.
\n
And with the company's impressive user base, its growing number of developers, and its unique position of allowing its own users to create games for the platform, investors may want to follow Wood's lead on this one and pick up some shares for their own portfolio.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Cathie Wood Goes Bargain Shopping: 3 Stocks She Just Bought
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nCathie Wood Goes Bargain Shopping: 3 Stocks She Just Bought\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-28 15:19 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood has garnered a lot of attention recently as her company's exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have put up impressive returns.\nAnd investors looking for some of Wood's top picks to ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"RBLX":"Roblox Corporation","U":"Unity Software Inc.","JD":"京东"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/06/27/cathie-wood-goes-bargain-shopping-3-stocks-she-jus/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2146497002","content_text":"ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood has garnered a lot of attention recently as her company's exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have put up impressive returns.\nAnd investors looking for some of Wood's top picks to add to their own portfolios would be smart to take a closer look at a few tech companies she snatched up as their share prices dropped recently. In fact, 53% of the top 1,000 mobile games on Apple's App Store and Alphabet's Google Play store -- as well as over 50% of mobile games, PC games, and console games combined -- are made using Unity's platform. The company boasts 1.5 million monthly active creators in 190 countries, who account for more than 3 billion app downloads per month.\nWhat attracts developers to Unity is the ability to see and modify their creations in real time. This results in a significant decrease in design and development time, making developers more productive. It also helps them react and adapt their games and apps to end-user feedback, again in real time. Games built on Unity's platform can be created once and instantly deployed across more than 20 popular platforms, including Microsoft Windows and Xbox, Sony PlayStation, Mac, iOS, and Android, among others.\nUnity's full-year revenue for 2020 increased 43% year over year to $772 million. That strong growth continued into the first quarter, with revenue of $235 million up 41%. Like many early stage, high-growth companies, Unity is awash in red ink, but the news isn't all bad. Adjusting for one-time IPO-related charges, its 2020 operating loss improved by 45%.\nWood has other reasons for investing heavily in Unity Software. In ARK Invest's Big Ideas for 2021 report, she pointed out that revenue from virtual worlds -- which include video games, augmented reality, and virtual reality -- is expected to grow at 17% annually over the next several years, from $180 billion today to $390 billion by 2025. With its unique position in a large and growing ecosystem, Unity could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this accelerating trend.\nLastly, Unity Software's stock is currently available at a bargain basement price, selling for 31% off its recent highs.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nMaybe it's time to get in on this e-commerce leader\nBrian Withers (JD): JD.com seems to be a Cathie Wood favorite. Not surprisingly, it's the second-largest holding in the ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF, as the leading Chinese retailer depends on robotics technology for warehousing functions and even last-mile delivery. But this technology-first company is also a holding in three other ARK ETFs. Let's look at why Wood has added more shares in the last several weeks.\nFirst, the stock is down more than 30% off its high, and not because the business is doing poorly. In fact, the company just put up stellar first-quarter results. Second, the ARK funds have owned shares of JD since mid-2017, and in the first quarter, the funds more than doubled the share count over the quarter. It's likely these buys over the course of this year and the recent purchases show that they are excited about the company's performance, long-term prospects, and valuation.\nLet's look at its most recent quarter. Not surprisingly, the top line decreased sequentially from the holiday quarter, but managed to beat analysts' expectations and post a 39% year-over-year increase. The company income from operations remains in the black, but still runs thin margins as it is investing profits into growth efforts. Lastly and probably most exciting to investors is that the platform continues to attract customers at a rapid pace, even with hundreds of millions already on the platform.\n\n\n\nMetrics\nQ1 FY2020\nQ4 FY2020\nQ1 FY2021\nQOQ Change (Decline)\nYOY Change\n\n\n\n\nRevenue\n$20.6 billion\n$34.4 billion\n$31.0 billion\n(10%)\n39%\n\n\nIncome from operations\n$328 million\n$91 million\n$253 million\n178%\n(23%)\n\n\nActive customer accounts\n387 million\n472 million\n500 million\n6%\n29%\n\n\n\nData source: Company earnings release. QOQ = quarter over quarter. YOY = year over year.\nLooking ahead, the company is deepening its reach into rural China. In its first quarter of operation, Jingxi served 17 provinces with its e-commerce operations.\nThere's lots to like about this leading Chinese e-commerce retailer's business, especially with its stock trading at reasonable valuations. Compared to Sea Limited's lofty price-to-sales ratio of 25 and MercadoLibre's 16, JD shares are valued at a 1 P/S ratio. Additionally, it has a P/E ratio of a cool 15, whereas its Latin American and Southeast Asian counterparts don't have earnings to record a P/E ratio.\nIt's no wonder that the Cathie Wood and the ARK investment team are adding to their position with the shares at a discount to its recent high. Maybe it's time you did the same?\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThis video game stock is anything but child's play \nChris Neiger (Roblox): Roblox is a popular video game platform that not only allows users to play games but also to create their own games -- and it's been a massive success so far.\nCathie Wood has taken notice of the company as well and bought more shares of Roblox just last week. The stock is down about 4% over the past 30 days, which might have spurred Wood's funds to add to their Roblox position.\nAnd investors may be wise to follow in Wood's footsteps. Roblox has created a video game platform unlike anything its competitors have, and is adding new players and increasing platform engagement at a healthy clip.\nRoblox has more than 43 million daily active users, 8 million developers creating games on its platform, and 100 million global active users.\nIn the most recent quarter, sales spiked 140% from the year-ago quarter, and its users spent 9.8 billion hours engaged with the platform, an increase of 98% year over year.\nInvestors should know that this company isn't profitable (it posted a loss of $134 million in the most recent quarter), and it just went public back in March. Both of these factors mean that the share price could be volatile in the short term as the company continues to grow.\nBut the long-term potential for this company is firmly intact. Roblox is tapping into the fast-growing video game market that's estimated to increase from $157 billion last year to $293 billion by 2027.\nAnd with the company's impressive user base, its growing number of developers, and its unique position of allowing its own users to create games for the platform, investors may want to follow Wood's lead on this one and pick up some shares for their own portfolio.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":521,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":127414997,"gmtCreate":1624862949119,"gmtModify":1703846472119,"author":{"id":"3576741805415587","authorId":"3576741805415587","name":"Syahirella","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a436c269bf39762d88232f913ab309f9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576741805415587","authorIdStr":"3576741805415587"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"????","listText":"????","text":"????","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/127414997","repostId":"2146200677","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2146200677","pubTimestamp":1624851120,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2146200677?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-28 11:32","market":"us","language":"en","title":"A Stock Market Crash Is Inevitable: 4 Surefire Stocks to Buy When It Happens","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2146200677","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"A crash or steep correction would be a blessing in disguise, because you'd get to buy these proven winners at a discount.","content":"
They're the three words that can ruin an investor's day: stock market crash.
\n
Although talking about a stock market crash might be considered taboo, the fact is: A crash is on its way. We might not be able to pinpoint when it'll happen, but history is pretty clear that crashes and corrections are inevitable parts of the investing cycle.
As of early June, stocks in the S&P 500 had their increase in second-quarter earnings estimates since 2002, according to FactSet’s John Butters.\nWhile the increasing estimates could make the bar harder to clear for some companies, they should also be a good indicator for investors looking to buy, according to Ned Davis Research.\n“Earnings revisions has been one of the top-performing strategies over time. As the market outlook improves, investors reward the companies with improving earnings growth expectations,” NDR’s Brian Sanborn said in a note to clients last week.\nThe firm’s earnings earnings revisions factor measures the monthly change in one-year earnings projections by analysts. The strategy has performed particularly well after periods like Wall Street has seen over the past six months.\n“Earnings revisions was one of the top factors following strong periods of Value relative strength compared to Growth as in 1993 and 2006. This strategy has also exceled after all-time market highs and sentiment peaks,” the note said.\nNED DAVIS RESEARCH PORTFOLIO PICKS\n\n\n\nTICKER\nCOMPANY\nPRICE\nCHANGE\n%CHANGE\n\n\n\n\nDE\nDeere & Co\n349.99\n-0.63\n-0.1797\n\n\nLOW\nLowe’s Companies Inc\n192.66\n0.91\n0.47\n\n\nUNH\nUnitedHealth Group Inc\n404.95\n6.08\n1.52\n\n\nACN\nAccenture PLC\n294.66\n3.10\n1.06\n\n\nFB\nFacebook\n341.37\n-1.81\n-0.5274\n\n\n\nThe firm highlighted several of the stocks from its portfolio picks list for high marks in its earnings revision factor and other strategies, including tech giantFacebookand Dow componentUnitedHealth Group.\nShares of Facebook have picked up momentum over the past three months, rising more than 20%.
