e-commerce and gaming company Sea Limited reported second-quarter results on Tuesday that topp","content":"
Asian e-commerce and gaming company Sea Limited reported second-quarter results on Tuesday that topped revenue estimates as it raised guidance. The stock was up more than 600% in just two years.
\n
Sea said revenue totaled $2.3 billion, up 158.6% year over year, exceeding analysts' estimates of $1.97 billion.
\n
The company reported an adjusted loss of 61 cents a share, while analysts expected Sea to report an adjusted loss of 51 cents.
\n
E-commerce revenue rose 160.7% to $1.2 billion, while digital entertainment revenue rose 166.8% to $1 billion.
\n
Sea said its \"Free Fire\" game reached more than 1 billion downloads on Google Play and ranked third globally by average monthly active users for mobile games on Google Play in the second quarter.
\n
The game also achieved a new record high of more than 150 million peak daily active users in the quarter.
\n
In the U.S., \"Free Fire\" was also the highest-grossing mobile battle royale game for two consecutive quarters and was the second-highest grossing mobile game on Google Play for the second quarter.
\n
Bookings were $1.2 billion, up 64.8% year on year. Quarterly active users reached 725.2 million, up 45.1% year-on-year.
\n
Looking ahead, Sea said it expects bookings for digital entertainment in 2021 to range from $4.5 billion and $4.7 billion, up 44.4% from 2020 at the midpoint of the revised guidance.
\n
The company also expects revenue for e-commerce to range from $4.7 billion and $4.9 billion, up 121.5% growth from 2020 at the midpoint of the revised guidance.
\n
Dominance in a digital economy
\n
Sea Limited is a conglomerate of digital products and services that include e-commerce, gaming, and digital payments. Its business segments dominate the market in SEA, much as Amazon dominates e-commerce in the United States.
\n
According to a Google report, the SEA region's digital economy is worth (shown as GMV, or gross marketplace volume) approximately $100 billion as of 2020. Sea Limited captured $35.4 billion of that through its e-commerce business, Shopee, alone in 2020. Sea's management claims that Shopee is the most popular shopping app in SEA by monthly active users and time spent on the app. This level of engagement shows up in the financials. Shopee's GMV grew to $12.6 billion in 2021 Q1, a 103% increase year over year.
\n
Sea's business goes well beyond e-commerce. It owns a payments business called Sea Money that offers mobile wallet services to 26.1 million paying users. Digital entertainment is Sea's third segment, which houses its game development studio, Garena, creator of Free Fire, the world's most downloaded mobile game in 2020.
\n
Sea Limited's strong presence in e-commerce, payments, and gaming has fueled the company's growth trajectory thanks to the digital nature of the economy in SEA. Sea Limited generated just $345 million in revenue in 2016, but the company is expected to do $8.3 billion in 2021, growing 95% per year over this stretch.
\n
Sea Limited could be positioned to continue its rapid growth over the coming years. Roughly half of the 670 million inhabitants of SEA are under the age of 30, and 68% of households use smartphones.
\n
Meantime, Sea Limited has expanded aggressively, pushing into Latin America for new expansion opportunities. Sea Limited started by launching Shopee in Brazil in late 2019 and is using the popularity of Free Fire to gain recognition, making Shopee the only licensed seller of Free Fire merchandise and signing a deal to become an official sponsor of Brazil's national football team. These moves have helped the Shopee app grab an 18% market share in less than two years.
\n
Sea Ltd is growing rapidly, yet doesn't appear overvalued at the current price.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Can Sea Limited stock continue to rise?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nCan Sea Limited stock continue to rise?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Tiger Newspress
\n
2021-08-18 15:15
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
Asian e-commerce and gaming company Sea Limited reported second-quarter results on Tuesday that topped revenue estimates as it raised guidance. These moves have helped the Shopee app grab an 18% market share in less than two years.\nSea Ltd is growing rapidly, yet doesn't appear overvalued at the current price.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":407,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":897584914,"gmtCreate":1628943614538,"gmtModify":1676529897578,"author":{"id":"3577101390825129","authorId":"3577101390825129","name":"LEWISCKFU","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577101390825129","authorIdStr":"3577101390825129"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good news up up and away","listText":"Good news up up and away","text":"Good news up up and away","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/897584914","repostId":"1182304144","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":339,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":897582369,"gmtCreate":1628943286351,"gmtModify":1676529897527,"author":{"id":"3577101390825129","authorId":"3577101390825129","name":"LEWISCKFU","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577101390825129","authorIdStr":"3577101390825129"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes all the way up to the moon it been awhile ","listText":"Yes all the way up to the moon it been awhile ","text":"Yes all the way up to the moon it been awhile","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/897582369","repostId":"1182304144","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":536,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":9925008958,"gmtCreate":1671856617775,"gmtModify":1676538604409,"author":{"id":"3577101390825129","authorId":"3577101390825129","name":"LEWISCKFU","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577101390825129","authorIdStr":"3577101390825129"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"OK ","listText":"OK ","text":"OK","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9925008958","repostId":"1189263452","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1189263452","pubTimestamp":1671843676,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1189263452?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-12-24 09:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The 3 Best Cathie Wood Stocks to Buy Now","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1189263452","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"Growth stocks have struggled badly, but not all of Ark’s holdings are bad. During 2020 and 2021, growth stocks were on top of the finance world. In 2022, it has been a completely different story, as growth stocks have been crushed. Still, many investors want to know the best Cathie Wood stocks to buy.

Despite the terrible price action of growth stocks in 2022, there are some quality companies in this group. That doesn’t mean they’ve hit their lows or that the first quarter or the first half of 2023 will be much better than 2022.

However, eventually the market will go from bearish to bullish, and the Fed will transform from hawkish to dovish. When that happens, many of today’s terrible growth stocks will be tomorrow’s new leaders.

So what are a few of the best Cathie Wood stocks to keep an eye on? Let’s look at three of them now.

Best Cathie Wood Stocks: Zoom Video (ZM)

I’m trying to stick with Cathie Wood’stop ten holdings across her Ark funds and weighing in at No. 1 is Zoom Video(NASDAQ:ZM). Now down 88% from its all-time high, Zoom Video has been taken to the woodshed.

Much like Cathie Wood became the face of growth stocks, Zoom Video became the face of pandemic stocks.

Consequently, I wouldn’t be surprised if the stock falls further. That’s especially true given the jobs recession we’re seeing in tech and the potential recession that the global economy faces. Plus, the $60 level has been key for ZM stock, and the shares are still about $6 above that mark.

That said, we’re talking about a firm that’s profitable and generated more than $1.1 billion of free cash flow over the last 12 months. Further, the shares trade at just 17.5 times analysts’ 2022 mean earnings estimate.

On the downside, while analysts do expect mild revenue growth this year and next year, they anticipate a mild earnings decline in both years as well. At a lower price —such as $60 — Zoom Video may be worth buying.

Best Cathie Wood Stocks: Tesla (TSLA)

You can’t read about the stock market right now without reading about Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA). Some observers say that the sharp retreat of Tesla stock is due to the automaker’s CEO, Elon Musk, taking over Twitter and filling in as its acting CEO. Others argue that simple bear-market mechanics are at play.

But both factors can be at play. There are worries that demand is slowing for its EVs in China, while Musk is trying to head several companies at once and the economy is slipping into a recession And simultaneously, risk-free assets (like U.S. Treasury bonds) are becoming more attractive for investors.

All of these factors may help explain why Tesla hit new 52-week lows in eight straight sessions recently.

That said, for long-term buyers, it may be worthwhile to take a closer look at the name. First, the shares of Tesla are trading at their lowest price-earnings ratio ever, changing hands for about 27 times this year’s earnings.

Analysts, on average, still expect the automaker to deliver more than 50% revenue growth this year and almost 40% growth next year. On the earnings front, the mean estimates stand at 79% growth this year and 35% growth next year.

However, these are just estimates and as I acknowledged, stocks are in a bear market. But given the decline of Tesla’s shares, the stock is beginning to look undervalued based on its long-term outlook.

Unity Software (U)

I’m not sure if Unity Software(NYSE:U) will retest its low near $21, but if does, U may be worth a close look. That’s particularly true if analysts’ estimates don’t get revised lower.

Unity stands out to me because of its impressive growth. Analysts, on average, expect a 23.5% revenue gain this year, but more than 60% growth next year. While Unity expects to report a slight loss this year, analysts’ estimates call for a swing to profitability in 2023.

Unity is a relatively young company as it went public just over two years ago. So during a bear market, its shares could face increased selling pressure. That said, this type of growth shouldn’t be overlooked.

When the company reported earnings in November, it delivered better-than-expected guidance for next quarter and the full year. That may not matter lift U stock in the next quarter — or in the next several quarters — but it will make a difference eventually.

","source":"investorplace","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The 3 Best Cathie Wood Stocks to Buy Now
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe 3 Best Cathie Wood Stocks to Buy Now\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-12-24 09:01 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Growth stocks have struggled badly, but not all of Ark’s holdings are bad.
