That robust growth was supported by a growing list of customers, including Target, Home Depot, P&G, PayPal, and Twitter.
\n
Many retailers didn't want to feed Amazon's most profitable business unit, while some tech companies didn't want to tether themselves to Microsoft's sprawling software ecosystem. It also suggests that Google Cloud -- which likely has significantly less pricing power than AWS and Azure -- could remain unprofitable for the foreseeable future.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":354,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163279681,"gmtCreate":1623887502543,"gmtModify":1703822401899,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577261415989534","idStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hmmm","listText":"Hmmm","text":"Hmmm","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/163279681","repostId":"2144270718","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":145,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163245630,"gmtCreate":1623887413320,"gmtModify":1703822396145,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577261415989534","idStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Woo","listText":"Woo","text":"Woo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/163245630","repostId":"2143279592","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":281,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163242492,"gmtCreate":1623887390216,"gmtModify":1703822394669,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577261415989534","idStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Happy] ","listText":"[Happy] ","text":"[Happy]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/163242492","repostId":"1122753850","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1122753850","pubTimestamp":1623841611,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1122753850?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-16 19:06","market":"us","language":"en","title":"As Tesla stock dips, investor says ‘any time you get the chance to buy it, buy it’","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1122753850","media":"cnbc","summary":"Shares ofTeslaclosed lower despite a strong call from Mizuho.\nAnalysts at the firm reiterated their ","content":"
\n
Shares ofTeslaclosed lower despite a strong call from Mizuho.\nAnalysts at the firm reiterated their buy rating on the stock, citing the company's leadership in the global electric vehicle market and ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; I mean, you can't get a better leader than they have.\"\nIn the same \"Trading Nation\" interview, Matt Maley, chief market strategist at Miller Tabak, noted that Tesla's stock has been relatively flat for the past several months, trading around its 200-day moving average.\n\n\"You don't see that very often,\" he said. \"Whichever way it breaks away from that 200-day moving average will give us a little bit of a hint [about] its next move.\"\nThe stock is also forming a descending triangle pattern, Maley said, saying the upper end of the pattern is around $650 and the lower end sits at $563. Those are the two levels to watch, and where shares move relative to those levels will be very indicative of where Tesla is headed, he said.\n\"In the past, when the stock has been stuck in this sideways range, once it breaks out, it starts to move in a big way. This should be no different,\" he said.\nTesla's deliveries report in the first week of July could be a breakout catalyst, Maley said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":282,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":112753675,"gmtCreate":1622936033297,"gmtModify":1704193316653,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577261415989534","idStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"WWDC! Looking back at the period between a week prior to and the end of the event, shares were up 3%.\nFigure 5: AAPL 2020 chart.\nWhat history suggests\nIt is hard to predict how Apple stock will behave in the near future. However, looking back at history, we can draw a few conclusions about AAPL share price behavior around WWDC in the last 5 years.\nExcept for the 2017 conference, Apple caught an updraft around the WWDC weeks. Whether the performance is related to the event itself is a matter of interpretation.\nWhat to expect of WWDC 2021\nFor this year’s WWDC, Apple will likely release the usual software updates. For investors, possible updates on the products and services front would be most meaningful.\nA possible successor for the M1 chip, a 27-inc Mac, a new MacBook Pro, updates on AR and VR technology and even hints about the Apple Car would certainly be highlights. Any of these potential developments, even if unlikely to happen, could give an extra impulse for Apple shares in the short- and mid-terms.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":216,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":136966015,"gmtCreate":1621990710437,"gmtModify":1704365544213,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577261415989534","idStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$HODL","listText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$HODL","text":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$HODL","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6f00ebf0d528c649a199edb5d0bf6829","width":"1170","height":"2026"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/136966015","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":265,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":354152171,"gmtCreate":1617153649993,"gmtModify":1704696472261,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577261415989534","idStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$?","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$?","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$?","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/84ba995afdcde237467d47116c139993","width":"1125","height":"3487"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/354152171","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":152,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":364375720,"gmtCreate":1614819587260,"gmtModify":1704775601751,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577261415989534","idStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$Opened a position in Disney! However, Apple is also one of Google's top customers.
\n
Five years ago, Apple signed a deal with Google Cloud to host some of its iCloud services. The details weren't disclosed, but it was considered a loss for Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Azure, which previously hosted most of Apple's iCloud services.
\n
Many people wondered if the deal would last. However, digital media newssite The Information recently claimed Apple would boost its spending on Google Cloud by 50% this year and become Google's largest enterprise cloud storage customer. Let's see what this expanded deal could mean for both tech giants.
\n
\n
Why doesn't Apple build its own cloud platform?
\n
Back in 2016, a Re/code report claimed Apple was mulling the development of its own cloud infrastructure platform and estimated it could break even on its own data centers in \"about three years.\"
\n
That cloud independence would eliminate Apple's dependence on Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, which all compete against Apple in certain markets. It could also support its expansion into next-gen industries, including connected cars, augmented reality devices, and smart home appliances.
\n
However, Apple also has tremendous bargaining power in securing favorable contracts with the big three cloud platforms. Just as it splits its component orders and manufacturing contracts between different companies, Apple can shop around for the best cloud hosting deals.
\n
Apple also charges users fees for additional iCloud storage. So as long as that incoming revenue offsets its cloud hosting payments to Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure, it might be more economical to maintain the status quo instead of building a first-party cloud infrastructure platform.
\n
The Information claims Apple will spend about $300 million on Google's cloud storage services this year -- but that would only equal 0.08% of Apple's estimated revenue this year.
\n
Will higher spending from Apple actually help Google?
\n
Google Cloud's revenue rose 53% to $8.9 billion in 2019 and grew 46% to $13.1 billion -- or 7% of Alphabet's top line -- in 2020.
For those enterprise customers, Google Cloud seemed to be an attractive alternative.
\n
However, Google Cloud controlled just 7% of the global cloud infrastructure market in the first quarter of 2021, according to Canalys. AWS controlled 32% of the market, while Azure ranked second with a 19% share.
\n
Google Cloud also isn't profitable yet. Its operating loss widened from $4.3 billion in 2018 to $4.6 billion in 2019, then widened again to $5.6 billion in 2020. AWS is consistently profitable, while Microsoft doesn't disclose Azure's exact revenue or operating profits.
\n
These numbers suggest Apple would likely secure the cheapest cloud hosting rates from Google, which needs to gain more partnerships to keep pace with AWS and Azure. However, Apple is also one of Google's top customers.\nFive years ago, Apple signed a deal with Google Cloud to host some of its iCloud services. The details weren't disclosed, but it was considered a loss for Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Azure, which previously hosted most of Apple's iCloud services.\nMany people wondered if the deal would last. However, digital media newssite The Information recently claimed Apple would boost its spending on Google Cloud by 50% this year and become Google's largest enterprise cloud storage customer. Let's see what this expanded deal could mean for both tech giants.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nWhy doesn't Apple build its own cloud platform?\nBack in 2016, a Re/code report claimed Apple was mulling the development of its own cloud infrastructure platform and estimated it could break even on its own data centers in \"about three years.\"\nThat cloud independence would eliminate Apple's dependence on Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, which all compete against Apple in certain markets. It could also support its expansion into next-gen industries, including connected cars, augmented reality devices, and smart home appliances.\nHowever, Apple also has tremendous bargaining power in securing favorable contracts with the big three cloud platforms. Just as it splits its component orders and manufacturing contracts between different companies, Apple can shop around for the best cloud hosting deals.\nApple also charges users fees for additional iCloud storage. So as long as that incoming revenue offsets its cloud hosting payments to Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure, it might be more economical to maintain the status quo instead of building a first-party cloud infrastructure platform.\nThe Information claims Apple will spend about $300 million on Google's cloud storage services this year -- but that would only equal 0.08% of Apple's estimated revenue this year.\nWill higher spending from Apple actually help Google?\nGoogle Cloud's revenue rose 53% to $8.9 billion in 2019 and grew 46% to $13.1 billion -- or 7% of Alphabet's top line -- in 2020. That robust growth was supported by a growing list of customers, including Target, Home Depot, P&G, PayPal, and Twitter.\nMany retailers didn't want to feed Amazon's most profitable business unit, while some tech companies didn't want to tether themselves to Microsoft's sprawling software ecosystem. For those enterprise customers, Google Cloud seemed to be an attractive alternative.\nHowever, Google Cloud controlled just 7% of the global cloud infrastructure market in the first quarter of 2021, according to Canalys. AWS controlled 32% of the market, while Azure ranked second with a 19% share.\nGoogle Cloud also isn't profitable yet. Its operating loss widened from $4.3 billion in 2018 to $4.6 billion in 2019, then widened again to $5.6 billion in 2020. AWS is consistently profitable, while Microsoft doesn't disclose Azure's exact revenue or operating profits.\nThese numbers suggest Apple would likely secure the cheapest cloud hosting rates from Google, which needs to gain more partnerships to keep pace with AWS and Azure. That might be great news for Apple, but bad news for Google Cloud's operating profits.\nThe key takeaways\nThe Information claims Apple's increased cloud spending could make it Google Cloud's \"largest\" corporate client, but $300 million only equals 2% of Google's total cloud revenue last year. Apple is still likely hosting a lot of its iCloud services on AWS and Azure, so the report doesn't necessarily mean Google Cloud will become Apple's preferred cloud provider.\nInstead, this report indicates it's smarter for Apple to pit the three cloud platform kings against each other to gain favorable hosting prices than it is to build its own cloud infrastructure. It also suggests that Google Cloud -- which likely has significantly less pricing power than AWS and Azure -- could remain unprofitable for the foreseeable future.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":354,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":112753675,"gmtCreate":1622936033297,"gmtModify":1704193316653,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577261415989534","authorIdStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"WWDC! I mean, you can't get a better leader than they have.\"\nIn the same \"Trading Nation\" interview, Matt Maley, chief market strategist at Miller Tabak, noted that Tesla's stock has been relatively flat for the past several months, trading around its 200-day moving average.\n\n\"You don't see that very often,\" he said. This should be no different,\" he said.\nTesla's deliveries report in the first week of July could be a breakout catalyst, Maley said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":282,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":136966015,"gmtCreate":1621990710437,"gmtModify":1704365544213,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577261415989534","authorIdStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$HODL","listText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$HODL","text":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$HODL","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6f00ebf0d528c649a199edb5d0bf6829","width":"1170","height":"2026"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/136966015","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":265,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":354152171,"gmtCreate":1617153649993,"gmtModify":1704696472261,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577261415989534","authorIdStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$?","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$?","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$?","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/84ba995afdcde237467d47116c139993","width":"1125","height":"3487"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/354152171","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":152,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":364375720,"gmtCreate":1614819587260,"gmtModify":1704775601751,"author":{"id":"3577261415989534","authorId":"3577261415989534","name":"Jemsen","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/553066cd973a9e94725cc89bdc0ad0f9","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577261415989534","authorIdStr":"3577261415989534"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Walt Disney(DIS)$Opened a position in Disney!
