Reverse splits are very rare. It’s tough to make a blanket statement from a small data set.</p>\n<p>What is more, many academic papers look at old data. The Fama data set includes stocks trading in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. A lot has changed in the marketplace since then.</p>\n<p>One common theme of stock-split studies, for instance, is a split’s impact on overall liquidity. GEmaintained its forecastsfor about 20 cents in per-share earnings and about $3.5 billion in free cash flow for 2021. His role as second minister for finance provided a smooth path to the ministry’s top job.</p>\n<p>“Lawrence has been assisting Swee Keat as Second Minister since 2016, so he has the experience, and is a natural fit for the job,” Prime Minister Lee said at a briefing Friday.</p>\n<p>Known for a no-nonsense speaking manner, Wong played a critical role in helping to bring the pandemic under control in Singapore, with measures such as mandatory mask-wearing and strict social gathering rules.</p>\n<p>Before his appointment as minister of education and second minister of finance after last year’s election, he also oversaw a closely-watched property sector as minister for national development.</p>\n<p>Wong began his career as a civil servant, later serving as chief executive of the&nbsp;Energy Market Authority&nbsp;and as principal private secretary to Lee.</p>\n<p>Here are other changes to the cabinet, with the appointments taking effect on May 15, according to a statement:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Gan Kim Yong will be trade and industry minister</li>\n <li>S. But the sample size is only one stock.</p>\n<p>NIO&nbsp;shares (NIO) are down more than 6% in Friday trading after the EV maker&nbsp;reduced guidance&nbsp;for first-quarter deliveries from about 20,250 cars to about 19,500. NIO management cited the chip shortage and is shutting a manufacturing plant for five days starting March 29.</p>\n<p>For Tesla, Wall Street is looking for about 162,000 vehicles delivered in March. That’s down from a peak estimate of about 183,000 vehicles. Analysts seem to be reducing numbers, possibly because of the shortage.</p>\n<p>Tesla delivered about 181,000 vehicles in the&nbsp;fourth quarter. For the full year 2021, analysts are looking for almost 800,000 vehicle deliveries, up about 60% year over year.</p>\n<p>RBC analyst&nbsp;Joe Spak&nbsp;is forecasting 170,000 first-quarter deliveries, up more than 90% year over year. He also forecasts Tesla will make 96,000 cars in California and 74,000 cars in China during the quarter. “Consensus [estimate] looks mostly reasonable,” wrote Spak in a Thursday report. “We do look for updates to see how the semi shortage is impacting&nbsp;Tesla—as it has the rest of the industry.” He sees some additional downside risk to estimates, especially for second-quarter numbers, because of chips.</p>\n<p>Spak rates Tesla stock Hold and has a $725 price target for shares.</p>\n<p>In the case of Tesla stock, the chip shortage has taken a back seat to rising interest rates. Rising rateshit growth stocksin two main ways. For starters, it makes growth more expensive to finance. NIO isn’t profitable yet. High-growth companies generate most of their cash flow far in the future.
