third-quarter 2022 earnings report. The slump in personal computer (PC) sales was all set to wreck this fast-growing chipmaker's momentum. But it looks as if the company did well enough to earn investors' vote of confidence.

Shares of AMD headed north after the company released its Q3 results on Nov. 1. The semiconductor giant slashed its guidance substantially last month owing to the PC market's weakness, but it still put up decent numbers thanks to its diversified business segments.

Let's take a closer look at AMD's Q3 results and check why the company is performing well when its rivals are not.

AMD reports impressive growth despite headwinds

AMD's Q3 revenue increased 29% year over year to $5.6 billion, which was in line with the updated guidance the company issued on Oct. 6. IDC estimates that PC sales were down 15% year over year in the third quarter, forcing manufacturers to reduce demand for processors. Not surprisingly, AMD pointed out that there were "substantial inventory reduction actions across the PC supply chain."

This led to a whopping 40% year-over-year decline in the company's client segment revenue to $1 billion. The segment reported an operating loss of $26 million, down substantially from the prior-year period's operating profit of $490 million because of the revenue decline.

It is worth noting that the average selling price (ASP) of AMD's client processors increased year over year, suggesting that it enjoyed healthy pricing power despite weak demand. The company's non-GAAP gross margin growth of 150 basis points over the year-ago quarter also suggests that the company didn't have to resort to discounts to move inventory. However, the PC market's weakness led to an 8% year-over-year decline in AMD's earnings to $0.67 per share.

The bad news is that a sluggish PC market will continue to weigh on AMD's fourth-quarter numbers. Management forecasts a decline in the client and gaming segments in Q4. That's not surprising, as PC shipments are expected to drop once again in the current quarter, which means that AMD's client processor and graphics card sales are going to take a hit.

Still, AMD's guidance points toward a resilient performance in tough times. The company guided for $5.5 billion in revenue this quarter at the midpoint of its guidance range, which would be a 14% increase over the prior-year period. The company also anticipates a non-GAAP gross margin of 51%, which would be a slight improvement over the year-ago quarter's figure of 50%.

AMD pointed out on the earnings conference call that the data center and the embedded businesses will help the company offset the weakness in the gaming and client businesses. It won't be surprising to see these two segments help AMD weather the storm in the PC market.

The chipmaker's growth is here to stay

AMD's data center business turned in a stellar performance last quarter, with revenue from the segment jumping an impressive 45% year over year to $1.6 billion. The segment's operating income margin also increased to 31% from 28% in the prior-year period.

The data center business's growth was driven by the growing adoption of its EPYC server processors. CEO Lisa Su remarked on the earnings conference call:

Cloud revenue more than doubled year over year and increased sequentially as multiple hyperscalers expanded deployments of EPYC processors to power their internal properties and more than 70 new AMD instances were launched by Microsoft Azure and Amazon, Tencent, Baidu, and others in the quarter.

According to third-party estimates, AMD's share of server processors increased to 27.6% in the third quarter. That figure is expected to jump to 30.3% in the fourth quarter, driven by the launch of its fourth-generation processors. AMD already lined up the likes of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Dell, Lenovo, and Super Micro to make servers using its latest processors.

Given that rival Intel's next-generation Sapphire Rapids server processors ran into delays, AMD now has an opportunity to corner a bigger share of this lucrative market. Bank of America, for instance, expects AMD's server market share to hit 35%, which it can achieve thanks to the technological advantage it enjoys over Intel.

Meanwhile, the embedded business, which includes sales of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA), adaptive system-on-a-chip products, and adaptive computing acceleration platform (ACAP) products, is going to be another key growth driver for AMD. The segment's revenue came in at $1.3 billion last quarter, up 1,549% over the year-ago period thanks to the inclusion of revenue from Xilinx, which AMD acquired in February this year.

The Xilinx acquisition opened a massive growth opportunity for AMD, giving the latter access to the fast-growing FPGA and adaptive computing markets. These chips are deployed across several fast-growing applications ranging from data centers to automotive to 5G wireless networks. AMD estimates that Xilinx will expand its total addressable market by $33 billion by 2025. Given that Xilinx generated $3.9 billion in revenue in fiscal 2022 (which ended in March 2022), it is evident that both companies are at the beginning of a terrific growth curve.

Not surprisingly, AMD's top line is set to head higher over the next couple of years.

AMD Revenue Estimates for Current Fiscal Year data by YCharts.

In all, AMD's solid catalysts and its ability to deliver growth during difficult times make it a top tech stock that investors can buy right now, especially considering its forward earnings multiple of 15.6, which represents a nice discount as compared to the Nasdaq-100's forward earnings ratio of 21.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
AMD Stock Is a Screaming Buy After Its Latest Earnings Report
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAMD Stock Is a Screaming Buy After Its Latest Earnings Report\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-11-08 19:02 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The odds were stacked against Advanced Micro Devices leading up to its third-quarter 2022 earnings report. The real magic is their effect on Apple’s earnings. Because unlike innovations such as Face ID—the facial recognition system used to unlock iPhones—the chip and camera improvements bring a dual benefit to the Cupertino-based company: Not only do consumers pay a premium for the new features, they also usually end up needing more storage to make the most of those features. And storage, it turns out, is an unbelievable money-printing machine. In fact, it might even be Apple’s secret weapon.
\n
The next iPhone lineup looks set to turbocharge that approach. Alongside other camera upgrades, the handsets will include a higher-quality video format called ProRes when they’re released in the next few weeks,Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, as well as more chip updates.
\n
With every improvement in image quality comes a commensurate increase in storage requirements. The new photo format that Apple added to the iPhone last year, brandedProRaw, is as much as 12 times larger than the standard JPEG. Bigger video files will exacerbate the trend. (That’s especially bad news for those of us whose casual snaps already take up a slightly embarrassing 36 gigabytes.)
\n
Consumers’ need for more storage is enormously profitable. Where it costs the consumer $100 to add 128 gigabytes of storage, Apple is unlikely to pay more than $20 for the same chip. If you’d prefer to store the data remotely, Apple’s iCloud offering enjoys similar profit margins. In fact, it might even be Apple’s secret weapon.\nThe next iPhone lineup looks set to turbocharge that approach. Alongside other camera upgrades, the handsets will include a higher-quality video format called ProRes when they’re released in the next few weeks,Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, as well as more chip updates.\nWith every improvement in image quality comes a commensurate increase in storage requirements. The new photo format that Apple added to the iPhone last year, brandedProRaw, is as much as 12 times larger than the standard JPEG. Bigger video files will exacerbate the trend. (That’s especially bad news for those of us whose casual snaps already take up a slightly embarrassing 36 gigabytes.)\nConsumers’ need for more storage is enormously profitable. Where it costs the consumer $100 to add 128 gigabytes of storage, Apple is unlikely to pay more than $20 for the same chip. If you’d prefer to store the data remotely, Apple’s iCloud offering enjoys similar profit margins. Besides, those who have already made the choice to opt for a $1,099 iPhone 12 Pro Max may be less concerned about ponying up more cash for extra capacity.\nFaster download speeds and greater processing power have the same effect. 5G lets you download more data more quickly, but you need the capacity on your device to store it, as do the whiz-bang games enabled by faster chips.\nApple is reaping the rewards. The chipmaker is riding several fast-growing tech trends that have supercharged its revenue and earnings growth in recent quarters, and those catalysts aren't going to disappear anytime soon.
\n
In simple words, AMD seems to be in the middle of a multiyear growth curve. And if you haven't bought this growth stock just yet, now would be a great time to do so. Let's look at one of the biggest reasons why you should consider adding AMD to your stock portfolio.
\n

\n
\n
AMD's CPU market share gains could be its biggest catalyst
\n
AMD gets most of its revenue from the computing and graphics segment, through which it sells its Ryzen central processing units (CPUs) and Radeon graphics processing units (GPUs). The segment's revenue is directly related to the health of the PC market, as well as the data center space, where graphics cards are deployed for accelerating workloads.
\n
AMD's computing and graphics revenue shot up 65% year over year in the second quarter to $2.25 billion, accounting for 58% of the total revenue. The company credited this terrific growth to increases in the average selling price (ASP) and shipments of its Ryzen processors that are used in laptops and desktops. According to AMD, its revenue share in the client processor market has now improved for five straight quarters.
\n
The company is witnessing strong demand for its high-end processors like the Ryzen 9 series, which saw shipments more than double year over year. Meanwhile, AMD's new Ryzen 5000 series notebook processors helped it record a seventh straight quarter of record revenue in the mobile processor space.
\n
AMD is benefiting from a mix of higher volumes and stronger pricing in the client processor market. This isn't surprising, as the chipmaker has been eating away at Intel's (NASDAQ:INTC) dominance in the CPU space. According to PC benchmark provider PassMark Software, AMD exited Q2 with a CPU market share of 44.1%, a nice jump from the year-ago period's share of 35%. Intel commands the rest of the market, though it has been losing ground to AMD since the arrival of the Ryzen series processors.
\n
It is also worth noting that AMD's improved pricing power has led to an increase in processor ASPs. Intel, on the other hand, is struggling with a steep decline in ASPs. Chipzilla's desktop processor ASP dropped 5% year over year last quarter, while notebook ASPs were down 17% after it resorted to discounting to move more units. AMD, on the other hand, is using its technology and performance advantage over Intel's chips to charge a premium for its processors, and customers are clearly willing to pay, given the higher shipments.
\n
AMD is likely to take more market share away from Intel, because the former is expected to launch its next-generation Zen 4 CPUs next year, which would be based on a 5-nanometer manufacturing process. AMD's current Zen 3 chips are based on a 7-nanometer node, which means that the next-generation chips can deliver improved computing performance and reduce power consumption.
\n
That's because the transistors on a smaller process node are closely packed together, which makes them more power efficient and capable of carrying out more calculations. More importantly, the move to a 5-nanometer process would put AMD at a great advantage over Intel.
\n

\n
\n
Intel's current Rocket Lake desktop processors are based on the old 14-nanometer process, while AMD uses a modern 7-nanometer process. As a result, AMD can pack more cores into its processors, make them more power-efficient, and generate superior performance at the same time.
\n
Chipzilla is expected to move to a 10-nanometer platform later this year once its Alder Lake desktop CPUs are launched. That could give AMD a headache, as Intel says that its 10-nanometer node packs in more transistors than AMD's 7-nanometer process. However, AMD should be ready to make the jump to the 5-nanometer process by the end of this year, which would help it maintain its advantage over Intel.
\n
Big financial gains could be on the cards
\n
AMD's computing and graphics segment is still quite small when compared to Intel's. For instance, Intel generated $10.6 billion in revenue from its client computing group (CCG) last quarter, which was more than four times AMD's revenue from its computing and graphics business.
\n
AMD launched its first-generation Ryzen processors in 2017, and they have supercharged the computing and graphics business. The segment's revenue had jumped to $3 billion in 2017 from $1.97 billion in 2016. In 2020, AMD generated $6.4 billion in revenue from the computing and graphics segment, so the business has more than doubled in three years.
\n
Meanwhile, Intel's CCG revenue stood at $40.1 billion in 2020, up just 22% from $32.9 billion at the end of 2016. Clearly, AMD is growing at a much faster pace than Intel thanks to its market share gains. More importantly, the size of Intel's CCG business indicates that AMD has a huge opportunity ahead to increase its revenue from the sale of client processors.
\n
AMD's technological advantage over Intel could help it maintain the terrific pace of growth of its largest business segment by way of additional market share and stronger pricing. Not surprisingly, analysts expect AMD to clock 32% annual earnings growth for the next five years. Given that AMD shares are now trading at 38 times trailing earnings as compared to their five-year average multiple of 120, it is a top growth stock to buy right now since it can add billions of dollars to its revenue and substantially boost earnings by consistently hurting its bigger rival.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Why AMD Is a Top Growth Stock to Buy Right Now
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhy AMD Is a Top Growth Stock to Buy Right Now\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-08-05 22:25 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) is showing no signs of slowing down. Given that AMD shares are now trading at 38 times trailing earnings as compared to their five-year average multiple of 120, it is a top growth stock to buy right now since it can add billions of dollars to its revenue and substantially boost earnings by consistently hurting its bigger rival.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":409,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3583583162782511","authorId":"3583583162782511","name":"ECA","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/718eae234a49daca134efd37f092acb0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3583583162782511","authorIdStr":"3583583162782511"},"content":"Its really good right now","text":"Its really good right now","html":"Its really good right now"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":806510498,"gmtCreate":1627667527714,"gmtModify":1703494458841,"author":{"id":"3580867776029771","authorId":"3580867776029771","name":"YosephVision","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8033d315729f5dbbb28d9cdc11908fc3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3580867776029771","authorIdStr":"3580867776029771"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Interesting!","listText":"Interesting!","text":"Interesting!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/806510498","repostId":"1109908934","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":172,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":111373803,"gmtCreate":1622655703602,"gmtModify":1704188320897,"author":{"id":"3580867776029771","authorId":"3580867776029771","name":"YosephVision","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8033d315729f5dbbb28d9cdc11908fc3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3580867776029771","authorIdStr":"3580867776029771"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Interesting analysist ","listText":"Interesting analysist ","text":"Interesting analysist","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/111373803","repostId":"1128017388","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1128017388","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1622618011,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1128017388?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-02 15:13","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Where Will NIO Stock Be In 5 Years?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1128017388","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Summary\n\nNIO is a high-growth Chinese EV player with attractive products.\nIts BaaS technology provid","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
NIO is a high-growth Chinese EV player with attractive products.
\n
Its BaaS technology provides a USP that should help NIO gain market share in the coming years.
\n
NIO is trading at a high valuation, and a lot of future growth is priced in already. The company enjoys growth tailwinds in its home market China and will increase its presence in overseas markets dramatically in the coming years. NIO is not as expensive as some other EV stocks, but shares are, on the other hand, still trading at a steep premium compared to how legacy auto companies are valued. Overall, NIO could return significant amounts of money in the coming years, but that is not a certainty, and investors should keep an eye on NIO's risk factors.
\n
NIO Stock Price
\n
NIO, Inc. is one of China's leading EV pure-plays, and that is reflected in its current valuation:
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
At slightly below $40, NIO is valued at more than $60 billion right now. This is about 40% less than the valuation shares have traded at when they peaked in early 2021, which reflects the declining enthusiasm for EV stocks, as most of NIO's peers, including Tesla (TSLA), have seen their shares come back as well. Still, for reference, NIO is valued around the same level as Ford (F) - which is a way larger company for now, in terms of revenue and vehicle sales.
\n
Is NIO A Good Long-Term Stock?
\n
NIO is active in the high-growth EV market and thus benefits a lot from market growth tailwinds. On top of that, NIO also has an attractive product portfolio that includes well-received models such as the ES6 and ES8 SUVs. What differentiates NIO from most other EV companies is its battery-swapping technology that allows consumers to get a fully-charged battery in a couple of minutes when visiting one of NIO's battery-swapping stations.
\n
This means that the downtime when doing longer trips via an EV is reduced dramatically, as a battery-swap takes roughly as much time as refueling an ICE-powered car, whereas recharging most EVs takes well more than a couple of minutes. NIO's battery-swapping stations are being built out around China right now, although there is no meaningful footprint outside of NIO's home market yet.
\n
Still, NIO plans to roll out that service in international markets over the years, and once there is a large enough footprint of them to make a difference, this should be a unique selling point for NIO that will help differentiate its offerings from those of most peers. This could, I believe, result in further market share gains, which is why I wouldn't be surprised to see NIO grow at a rapid pace for the coming years.
\n
For 2021, NIO will likely deliver revenue growth of more than 100% on the back of strong deliveries growth, as the analyst community is currently forecasting a 130% revenue increase this year. For Q2, NIO is expecting a growth rate of around 110% for its deliveries, following a massive 480% revenue increase during the first quarter. NIO thus is growing quicker than the EV market as a whole, and also quicker than peers such as Tesla, which will grow by around 50%-60% this year, according to the analyst community, which is about half the growth rate that is expected for NIO this year.
\n
Maintaining 100%+ growth forever is, of course, not possible, and NIO's growth will decline from that level in the coming years. But due to the fact that its products are well-liked in its home market, while the company is also ambitiously planning a major entry into the large European EV market, NIO should still deliver very considerable growth in the coming years.
\n
Obvious growth tailwinds for a company, or even an industry, do not necessarily equate to massive share price upside, however. Investors should consider that NIO will, like all auto companies, be active in a cyclical, capital-intense industry where margins, on average, are not very high. This doesn't mean that NIO does not have long-term upside, but investors should keep in mind that a home run is not guaranteed when investing in NIO or other EV stocks - despite the fact that EV sales are growing quickly.
\n
NIO Stock Forecast In 5 Years
\n
NIO will grow its revenues by more than 100% this year, according to most estimates, but growth projections beyond that point are varying a lot more. Looking at 2022, for example, the analyst consensus for NIO's revenues is $8.7 billion, which would reflect a 78% increase versus the consensus for 2021. Estimates are in a wide range, however, as analyst estimates range from $7.3 billion to $11.9 billion in revenue in 2022.
\n
In other words, the most bullish estimates see NIO deliver 60% higher revenues than the most bearish estimates. Since these estimates are being made for 2022 - just one year from now - this wide discrepancy shows how hard it is to forecast exact revenue or earnings numbers for a company like NIO.
\n
For my estimate for 2025's revenues, I'll go with the analyst consensus for 2022, i.e. $8.7 billion, and then assume that revenues will grow at 1.5x the forecasted overall market growth rate of 27% in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. This would get us to $34 billion in revenue in 2026, i.e. five years from now. Since analysts are currently forecasting that revenue will grow by 110% this year, and by around 80% next year, some readers may argue that a 40% growth rate estimate for 2023-2026 is too conservative. But the major unknowns and uncertainties around competitive pressures, government policies, etc., mean that I think that projecting a higher growth rate for many years in advance might be too optimistic.
\n
What might a $34 billion top line mean for NIO's stock price? Right now, shares are valued at 11.6x this year's expected sales, which is almost perfectly in line with the valuation of XPeng (XPEV), and slightly lower than that of Tesla:
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Looking at 2022, we see that shares are valued at around 7x expected revenues right now, whereas XPeng and Tesla trade at 6x and 9x their expected revenues right now. I highly doubt that the average EV company will be trading at high single-digit or even double-digit sales multiples in 2026, as this is just too much of a difference versus the 0.5-2x revenue multiples that legacy auto companies usually trade at. But when we assume that NIO, as an EV pure-play, will still trade at a premium to legacy auto in the middle of the 2020s, a 3x or 4x sales multiple might be a realistic estimate.
\n
When we go with 3.5x our revenue forecast for 2026, that would equate to a market capitalization of 119 billion - about 90% more than NIO's current market capitalization. NIO's share count has not been constant, however, and has, in fact, been rising considerably in the past. When we assume that the share count will rise by another 20% through 2026, to 1.9 billion, then shares would trade at $61 in 2026. This would mean that shares have an upside potential of around 55% over the next five years, or about 9% annually.
\n
That is not at all unattractive, but it also isn't an absolutely outstanding return. On top of that, NIO, like many other EV startups, is a company with above-average volatility, above-average risks, and above-average uncertainties. I thus would not call NIO overly attractive at current prices, as the forecasted return is solid, but goes hand in hand with considerable risks/uncertainties. One can, of course, argue that the forecasted growth is too high, or too low, or that the target sales multiple should be different in 2026. As a base case scenario, I feel like this is reasonable, however.
\n
Is NIO Stock A Buy Now?
\n
In retrospect, it is pretty clear that NIO at $10 about a year ago was a great opportunity, and that buying NIO at $67 at the peak earlier this year was a pretty bad decision. NIO today, in the high $30s, is somewhere in between these two extremes. I believe that, for long-term investors, NIO has a good chance of delivering solid returns over the years. At the same time, however, a lot of growth is priced into the stock right now, and it is not possible to forecast what competitors will do over the coming years, how accommodating governments will be to EVs, how well the rollout in Europe and other international markets will go, etc.
\n
I think NIO is more attractive than many other EV companies today, including many of the EV startups that don't have any viable products yet, and also versus Tesla (which is growing slower and still trades at a higher valuation). I would not be surprised to see NIO's stock deliver solid returns during the 2020s. I don't think that NIO is an absolute no-brainer buy today, however, as NIO still trades at a quite high valuation, for now, even factoring in its strong growth.
\n
For those that are enterprising and do not mind the risks and uncertainties around future product launches and international expansion, the stock's volatility, and so on, NIO could be a buy today. But it is not a good choice for everyone, and some may want to watch the EV race from the sidelines instead of putting money at risk at current valuations.
\n
The current analyst consensus share price target is $59, but I personally do not think this is realistic in the very near term. Based on expected revenues for 2021, this would put NIO at an 18x sales multiple, which is, I believe, not justified. Over the next five years, however, a share price in that region seems achievable, I believe.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Where Will NIO Stock Be In 5 Years?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhere Will NIO Stock Be In 5 Years?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-02 15:13 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nNIO is a high-growth Chinese EV player with attractive products.\nIts BaaS technology provides a USP that should help NIO gain market share in the coming years.\nNIO is trading at a high ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"NIO":"蔚来"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4432423-nio-stock-in-5-years","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1128017388","content_text":"Summary\n\nNIO is a high-growth Chinese EV player with attractive products.\nIts BaaS technology provides a USP that should help NIO gain market share in the coming years.\nNIO is trading at a high valuation, and a lot of future growth is priced in already.

However, AMD should be ready to make the jump to the 5-nanometer process by the end of this year, which would help it maintain its advantage over Intel.
\n
Big financial gains could be on the cards
\n
AMD's computing and graphics segment is still quite small when compared to Intel's.
The chipmaker is riding several fast-growing tech trends that have supercharged its revenue and earnings growth in recent quarters, and those catalysts aren't going to disappear anytime soon.\nIn simple words, AMD seems to be in the middle of a multiyear growth curve. And if you haven't bought this growth stock just yet, now would be a great time to do so. Let's look at one of the biggest reasons why you should consider adding AMD to your stock portfolio.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nAMD's CPU market share gains could be its biggest catalyst\nAMD gets most of its revenue from the computing and graphics segment, through which it sells its Ryzen central processing units (CPUs) and Radeon graphics processing units (GPUs). The segment's revenue is directly related to the health of the PC market, as well as the data center space, where graphics cards are deployed for accelerating workloads.\nAMD's computing and graphics revenue shot up 65% year over year in the second quarter to $2.25 billion, accounting for 58% of the total revenue. The company credited this terrific growth to increases in the average selling price (ASP) and shipments of its Ryzen processors that are used in laptops and desktops. According to AMD, its revenue share in the client processor market has now improved for five straight quarters.\nThe company is witnessing strong demand for its high-end processors like the Ryzen 9 series, which saw shipments more than double year over year. Meanwhile, AMD's new Ryzen 5000 series notebook processors helped it record a seventh straight quarter of record revenue in the mobile processor space.\nAMD is benefiting from a mix of higher volumes and stronger pricing in the client processor market. Intel commands the rest of the market, though it has been losing ground to AMD since the arrival of the Ryzen series processors.\nIt is also worth noting that AMD's improved pricing power has led to an increase in processor ASPs. Intel, on the other hand, is struggling with a steep decline in ASPs. Chipzilla's desktop processor ASP dropped 5% year over year last quarter, while notebook ASPs were down 17% after it resorted to discounting to move more units. AMD, on the other hand, is using its technology and performance advantage over Intel's chips to charge a premium for its processors, and customers are clearly willing to pay, given the higher shipments.\nAMD is likely to take more market share away from Intel, because the former is expected to launch its next-generation Zen 4 CPUs next year, which would be based on a 5-nanometer manufacturing process. AMD's current Zen 3 chips are based on a 7-nanometer node, which means that the next-generation chips can deliver improved computing performance and reduce power consumption.\nThat's because the transistors on a smaller process node are closely packed together, which makes them more power efficient and capable of carrying out more calculations.
Based on a consensus price target of $61.58, EverQuote could gain up to 83% over the next year, if analysts are accurate.

Talking about anything having to do with insurance is usually enough to put people to sleep. EverQuote aims to change that with its online marketplace where consumers can quickly and easily get price policies from leading insurance providers. According to the company, 1 in 5 consumers ends up purchasing a policy on its platform, which demonstrates that its shoppers tend to be motivated. In other words, insurers are getting more bang for their advertising buck by entrusting EverQuote's marketplace.

According to the company, digital insurance ad spending isexpected to grow by 16% annuallyover the next four years. By comparison, total ad and distribution spending for the insurance industry, including digital spending, is only forecast to grow by 4% annually through 2024. EverQuote is catering to the sweet spot of insurance industry growth.

It's also a company that'sbeen transitioning to new verticals. Even though auto insurance has always been its marketplace bread-and-butter, it's added home, renters, health, and life insurance options in recent years. These new verticals are growing at a much faster clip than traditional auto policies.

Jushi Holdings: Implied upside of 60%

Just in case you didn't catch the emphasis the first time around, Wall Street is really upbeat on most U.S.marijuana stocksover the next 12 months. Small-cap MSOJushi Holdings(OTC:JUSHF)is no exception. If Jushi does hit Wall Street's price target, it'll be rewarding its shareholders with a gain of 60%.

Whereas Harvest Health is focusing on four markets, Jushi isprimarily honed in on three: Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Virginia. Though it has a presence in around a half-dozen states, this trio limits how it assigns retail licenses. Pennsylvania and Illinois have capped the number of allowed dispensaries, whereas Virginia assigns licenses by jurisdiction. The takeaway is that Jushi is going to have a solid opportunity to build up its business in these states while facing minimal competition.

This is a company that hasn't been afraid to put its capital to work, either. It's made a host of acquisitions since the year began, including expanding its retail or cultivation footprint in Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and California.

If you're looking for one more catalyst, consider that executives and insiders contributed approximately $45 million of the first $250 million in capital raised. When the interests of insiders and shareholders align, we often see good things happen.

Inovio Pharmaceuticals: Implied upside of 128%

Finally, clinical-stagebiotech stockInovio Pharmaceuticals(NASDAQ:INO)is believed to offer significant upside. Based on a 12-month price target of $15.63, Inovio's shares could more than double. But this one instance where I strongly disagree with Wall Street.

For much of the past year, Inovio has flown higher on the expectation that it would be among the frontrunners to develop a COVID-19 vaccine. But despite flying though phase 1 studies, Inovio encountered a partial clinical hold in phase 2/3 trials in the United States. This past week, the company announced that its phase 3 study for INO-4800 as a treatment for COVID-19 would take place outside the U.S., and that the U.S. Defense Department would cease funding the company's late-stage studies for INO-4800.

There are reallytwo issues at hand here. First, Inovio has fallen so far behind its peers due to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) partial clinical hold that it may not be able to carve out a meaningful percentage of global COVID-19 vaccine sales, even if INO-4800 is successful in clinical studies.

Secondly, Inovio has nothing to show for itself after more than four decades. In spite of plenty of ongoing research, none of the company's experimental treatments have ever been approved by the FDA. That's a pretty glaring red flag.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 Small-Cap Stocks With 60% to 140% Upside, According to Wall Street
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 Small-Cap Stocks With 60% to 140% Upside, According to Wall Street\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-27 19:05 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
For more than a year, investors have been spoiled by an epic rally on Wall Street. In other words, insurers are getting more bang for their advertising buck by entrusting EverQuote's marketplace.According to the company, digital insurance ad spending isexpected to grow by 16% annuallyover the next four years. These new verticals are growing at a much faster clip than traditional auto policies.IMAGE SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES.Jushi Holdings: Implied upside of 60%Just in case you didn't catch the emphasis the first time around, Wall Street is really upbeat on most U.S.marijuana stocksover the next 12 months. Small-cap MSOJushi Holdings(OTC:JUSHF)is no exception. If Jushi does hit Wall Street's price target, it'll be rewarding its shareholders with a gain of 60%.Whereas Harvest Health is focusing on four markets, Jushi isprimarily honed in on three: Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Virginia. When the interests of insiders and shareholders align, we often see good things happen.IMAGE SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES.Inovio Pharmaceuticals: Implied upside of 128%Finally, clinical-stagebiotech stockInovio Pharmaceuticals(NASDAQ:INO)is believed to offer significant upside. Defense Department would cease funding the company's late-stage studies for INO-4800.There are reallytwo issues at hand here. First, Inovio has fallen so far behind its peers due to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) partial clinical hold that it may not be able to carve out a meaningful percentage of global COVID-19 vaccine sales, even if INO-4800 is successful in clinical studies.Secondly, Inovio has nothing to show for itself after more than four decades. In spite of plenty of ongoing research, none of the company's experimental treatments have ever been approved by the FDA. That's a pretty glaring red flag.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":166,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":377325000,"gmtCreate":1619498795400,"gmtModify":1704724963503,"author":{"id":"3580867776029771","authorId":"3580867776029771","name":"YosephVision","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8033d315729f5dbbb28d9cdc11908fc3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3580867776029771","authorIdStr":"3580867776029771"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Up up up","listText":"Up up up","text":"Up up up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/377325000","repostId":"1144449904","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1144449904","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1619486641,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1144449904?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-27 09:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO Stock Is Suddenly on Fire. Technical factors, rather than developments that would affect earnings, appear to be behind the shift.
\n
NIO (ticker: NIO) stock was a can’t miss bet for months. Shares gained more than 1,100% in 2020, closing at around $49. They raced to almost $67 early this year, but stalled out and fell to less than $32 last month. New competition in China’s EV market, confusion over deliveries during the Lunar New Year holiday, and the global shortage of semiconductors for use in cars all gave investors reasons to sell, or avoid buying. Higher interest rates also dinged valuations of high-growth stocks in February and March.
\n
But over the past week, investors are feeling much better. Shares closed 3.8% higher on Monday afternoon, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were roughly flat.
\n
That took the shares from less than $36 to almost $43, even though not much has changed in fundamental terms.
\n
The stock picked up one new Buy rating. That always helps. CLSA analyst Soobin Park launched coverage of the stock with a Buy and $50 price target. Two-thirds of analysts covering the company rate shares Buy. The average Buy rating ratio for stocks in the S&P 500 is about 55%.
\n
Barron’s Ed Lin also pointed out Sunday that Munich Ergo Asset Management GmbH, which manages investments for reinsurance giant Munich Re,bought more shares of NIO stock in the first quarter. That vote of confidence may be lifting the stock as well.
\n
More important, though, NIO stock was oversold. The stock’s relative strength index, or RSI, which measures the speed and magnitude of price changes, was bouncing around 30 in early March, on a range from 0 and 100. A low reading of 30 means, for traders, that all the selling is done for the near term and that a stock might be due for a bounce.
\n
NIO stock has done exactly that. Now the RSI reading is back around 58, a little higher than the midpoint of 50, but not yet to the point where traders would start to target NIO shares as overbought.
\n
So far this year, NIO stock is down about 13% year to date, leaving it behind both the broader market and Tesla (TSLA) stock’s 4% gain. The next chapter of the stock’s story could begin on Thursday, when NIO reports its first-quarter financial results.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
NIO Stock Is Suddenly on Fire.
