The company believes that the solid-state batteries it is developing can provide greater range and quicker recharge times than the lithium-ion batteries currently in use. What's more, its batteries should, in theory, also cost less than lithium-ion batteries.</p>\n<p>If QuantumScape can deliver what it is promising, it would have a huge market for its batteries. QuantumScape is still developing the technology and is several years away from commercial production. Its batteries have so far only been sample tested in labs. In its second-quarter results, the company announced that it is testing 10-layer cells and progressing according to its plans. Notably, batteries for use in EVs need several dozen of such layers, something the company expects to accomplish in 2022. At the same time, QuantumScape is slightly ahead of schedule for its pre-pilot manufacturing line. Overall, the company said it is progressing on time.</p>\n<p>QuantumScape doesn't expect to generate positive EBITDA before 2027. That's a long time from now, and many things can go wrong in the meantime. But this stock must be on your watch list, even if you decide not to buy it right now.</p>\n<h2>ChargePoint Holdings</h2>\n<p>Another stock to potentially benefit from the growth in EVs is electric charging company <b>ChargePoint</b>&nbsp;(NYSE:CHPT). With more than 112,000 charging points in North America and Europe, ChargePoint is <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the biggest EV charging companies in the world. The company claims to control 70% of the public level 2 charging market share in North America.</p>\n<p>Like other EV charging providers, ChargePoint isn't profitable right now. It hopes to generate positive EBITDA in 2024. Though a well-functioning public charging network is essential for the growth of EVs, the model for development of this infrastructure is still evolving. Some EV makers, such as <b>Tesla</b>, are developing their own charging networks. Others, such as <b>General Motors,</b> are partnering with several public EV charging companies, essentially suggesting that all chargers are basically the same.</p>\n<p>EV charging companies, in turn, are finding innovative ways to generate revenue while continuing to expand their infrastructure. This infrastructure, if properly developed and maintained, should surely be of value in the future. As a top player, ChargePoint could be better placed than others to benefit from the expected growth in EVs. You wouldn't want to miss watching how this company evolves over time.</p>\n<h2>Bloom Energy</h2>\n<p>Fuel cells have certainly attracted investors' attention lately. However, makers of proton-exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells, such as <b>Plug Power</b>, remain the primary focus. That's because PEM fuel cells find applications in the transport segment due to their quick start and stop times, as well as their lighter weight.</p>\n<p>However, another key area for fuel cells that doesn't get so much interest but is of great significance is stationary baseload generation and back-up power. <b>Bloom Energy</b> (NYSE:BE) is primarily focused on this segment. It is also expanding into carbon capture technologies, marine transport, and hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers. Overall, the company pegs its total addressable market at over $2 trillion.</p>\n<p>Bloom Energy fares better on key financial metrics compared to other fuel cell makers. In the last three years, the company has grown its revenue, shrank losses, and improved margins. Bloom Energy expects that its cash from operations will move toward positive territory for full-year 2021. It also expects to achieve non-GAAP operating margin of around 3% for the year. second half of 2021 is nearing and there’s a plethora of stocks set to rally, Wall Street analysts said this week.\nThe recovery and reopening presents a rare buying opportunity for investors, the analysts wrote.\nCNBC Pro combed through the most recent Wall Street research to find some of the best positioned stocks as the second half approaches.\nThey include:Uber,NetEase,OneMain,American Woodmark,Sunrun and Sunnova.\nNetEase\nIt’s going to be a blockbuster fall in more ways than one for the China-based video game company, according to Morgan Stanley.\n“History hints at outperformance in the next 6 months,” analyst Alex Poon wrote recently.\nNetEase has several big titles coming out later this year that Poon believes are a good omen for the stock.\n“The past game launch cycles have all driven strong stock price performance...,” he wrote.\nThe firm said shares of NetEase had reacted positively after the release of games like Knives Out and New Ghost in prior years.\n“NetEase’s game launches/revenue growth have strongly correlated with stock price since 2015, suggesting potential outperformance in the next 6 months, driven by Harry Potter and Diablo Immortal,” Poon said.\nHarry Potter is due in the third quarter of this year while Diablo is due in the fourth quarter.\nIn addition, the stock’s valuation is quite “attractive” and investors should buy it now, the firm said.\nShares are up 11.5% this year.\nOneMain\n“A series of tailwinds is developing,” for the financial services company, Piper Sandler said in a note this week.\nThe firm raised its price target to a Street high of $73 per share from $63 and said OneMain was its top pick for the rest of the year, analyst Kevin Barker wrote.\n“In our view, OMF is the best positioned stock within our coverage over the next 6-12 months,” he said.\nBarker said shares of OneMain have had a bit of an overhang due to a large selling shareholder, but that the stock was getting a bad rap.\n“We believe the stock has the potential to experience a material re-rating once the overhang is lifted, especially if we see new directors on the board and a shift in capital allocation policies,” he said.\nIn addition, Barker said a resumption of buybacks could “enhance” shareholder returns.\n“We believe a buyback policy could lead to greater EPS growth and the potential for a much higher P/E multiple on the stock,” Barker noted.\nThe firm went on to say that there’s a “meaningful strategic shift” happening at OneMain and that patient investors will be rewarded.\nShares are up 27.5% this year.\nAmerican Woodmark\nThe kitchen cabinet manufacturer was upgraded to buy from hold by investment firm Loop Capital this week.\nThe firm said sales growth remains strong and recent survey checks indicate a prime buying opportunity, analyst Garik Shmois said.\n“Despite concerns about tough comps and the recent pause in new residential construction, our survey gives us confidence that sentiment has gotten too negative & that sales should outpace expectations while commodity cost inflation appears to have peaked,” he wrote.\nIn fact, the firm said dealer traffic is as strong as it’s ever been.\n“The shares have acted poorly of late, but from a stock picking perspective, we think there’s value here,” he added.\nShmois acknowledged his call was out of consensus as most investors have been cautious around housing stocks.\nBut Shmois said the stock is just too attractive now given the pullback in shares.\nThe firm also said that price increases appear to be sticking while hardwood costs have started to “roll over which should alleviate cost pressures” along with greater demand for residential construction.\n“We have greater confidence for AMWD that margins should begin to recover in the second half of their FY22 which should drive the stock higher from currently depressed levels,” he said.\nShares of American Woodmark are down 5.3% this month.\nSunrun and Sunnova- JPMorgan, Overweight ratings\n“Our top picks for 2H21 are residential installers Sunrun and Sunnova. Both companies have above-average inventory levels owing to 2019 safe-harbor activity and early-21 pre-buying, which we believe positions each company to meet 2H21 demand regardless of supply-chain or geopolitical disruption. With shipping containers scarce — or worse, more than double pre-pandemic prices — toymakers are faced with tough decisions ahead of the industry's most important sales season.\n\"We're not seeing any panic yet about the flow of holiday goods,\" said Jefferies analyst Stephanie Wissink.\nWissink noted that toy companies are just entering the ramp-up period of production for toys that ship in September and October for the holidays.\n\"If we see persistent constraints into late-summer, then we will start to worry a bit more,\" she said.\nCurrently, the industry is seeing delays of two-to-three weeks, Wissink said. This is consistent with a report from Davidson analyst Linda Bolton Weiser that was published Friday, although Weiser said delays could be as long as a month.\nWeiser told CNBC that the toy industry has faced shipping challenges in the past and persevered. The shift from internal combustion engine vehicles to EVs is unstoppable. <b>QuantumScape</b> (NYSE:QS) may play a critical role in this transition. The company believes that the solid-state batteries it is developing can provide greater range and quicker recharge times than the lithium-ion batteries currently in use. What's more, its batteries should, in theory, also cost less than lithium-ion batteries.</p>\n<p>If QuantumScape can deliver what it is promising, it would have a huge market for its batteries. The company estimates $450 billion of potential annual battery sales if all 90+ million vehicles produced annually shift to batteries.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f0c508f83e640ee60358978783df1ecf\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"466\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<p>There are, however, several risks to consider. QuantumScape is still developing the technology and is several years away from commercial production. Its batteries have so far only been sample tested in labs. In its second-quarter results, the company announced that it is testing 10-layer cells and progressing according to its plans. Notably, batteries for use in EVs need several dozen of such layers, something the company expects to accomplish in 2022. At the same time, QuantumScape is slightly ahead of schedule for its pre-pilot manufacturing line. Overall, the company said it is progressing on time.</p>\n<p>QuantumScape doesn't expect to generate positive EBITDA before 2027. That's a long time from now, and many things can go wrong in the meantime. But this stock must be on your watch list, even if you decide not to buy it right now.</p>\n<h2>ChargePoint Holdings</h2>\n<p>Another stock to potentially benefit from the growth in EVs is electric charging company <b>ChargePoint</b>&nbsp;(NYSE:CHPT). With more than 112,000 charging points in North America and Europe, ChargePoint is <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the biggest EV charging companies in the world. The company claims to control 70% of the public level 2 charging market share in North America.</p>\n<p>Like other EV charging providers, ChargePoint isn't profitable right now. It hopes to generate positive EBITDA in 2024. Though a well-functioning public charging network is essential for the growth of EVs, the model for development of this infrastructure is still evolving. Some EV makers, such as <b>Tesla</b>, are developing their own charging networks. Others, such as <b>General Motors,</b> are partnering with several public EV charging companies, essentially suggesting that all chargers are basically the same.</p>\n<p>EV charging companies, in turn, are finding innovative ways to generate revenue while continuing to expand their infrastructure. This infrastructure, if properly developed and maintained, should surely be of value in the future. As a top player, ChargePoint could be better placed than others to benefit from the expected growth in EVs. You wouldn't want to miss watching how this company evolves over time.</p>\n<h2>Bloom Energy</h2>\n<p>Fuel cells have certainly attracted investors' attention lately. However, makers of proton-exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells, such as <b>Plug Power</b>, remain the primary focus. That's because PEM fuel cells find applications in the transport segment due to their quick start and stop times, as well as their lighter weight.</p>\n<p>However, another key area for fuel cells that doesn't get so much interest but is of great significance is stationary baseload generation and back-up power. <b>Bloom Energy</b> (NYSE:BE) is primarily focused on this segment. It is also expanding into carbon capture technologies, marine transport, and hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers. Overall, the company pegs its total addressable market at over $2 trillion.</p>\n<p>Bloom Energy fares better on key financial metrics compared to other fuel cell makers. In the last three years, the company has grown its revenue, shrank losses, and improved margins. Bloom Energy expects that its cash from operations will move toward positive territory for full-year 2021. It also expects to achieve non-GAAP operating margin of around 3% for the year. At the same time, if successful, their stocks could generate windfall returns. Here are three such companies that are working on the technologies and infrastructure of the future.\nQuantumScape\nThe number of electric vehicles in use worldwide is increasing with each passing day. The shift from internal combustion engine vehicles to EVs is unstoppable. QuantumScape (NYSE:QS) may play a critical role in this transition. The company believes that the solid-state batteries it is developing can provide greater range and quicker recharge times than the lithium-ion batteries currently in use. What's more, its batteries should, in theory, also cost less than lithium-ion batteries.\nIf QuantumScape can deliver what it is promising, it would have a huge market for its batteries. The company estimates $450 billion of potential annual battery sales if all 90+ million vehicles produced annually shift to batteries.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThere are, however, several risks to consider. QuantumScape is still developing the technology and is several years away from commercial production. Its batteries have so far only been sample tested in labs. In its second-quarter results, the company announced that it is testing 10-layer cells and progressing according to its plans. Notably, batteries for use in EVs need several dozen of such layers, something the company expects to accomplish in 2022. At the same time, QuantumScape is slightly ahead of schedule for its pre-pilot manufacturing line. Overall, the company said it is progressing on time.\nQuantumScape doesn't expect to generate positive EBITDA before 2027. That's a long time from now, and many things can go wrong in the meantime. But this stock must be on your watch list, even if you decide not to buy it right now.\nChargePoint Holdings\nAnother stock to potentially benefit from the growth in EVs is electric charging company ChargePoint (NYSE:CHPT). With more than 112,000 charging points in North America and Europe, ChargePoint is one of the biggest EV charging companies in the world. The company claims to control 70% of the public level 2 charging market share in North America.\nLike other EV charging providers, ChargePoint isn't profitable right now. It hopes to generate positive EBITDA in 2024. Though a well-functioning public charging network is essential for the growth of EVs, the model for development of this infrastructure is still evolving. Some EV makers, such as Tesla, are developing their own charging networks. Others, such as General Motors, are partnering with several public EV charging companies, essentially suggesting that all chargers are basically the same.\nEV charging companies, in turn, are finding innovative ways to generate revenue while continuing to expand their infrastructure. This infrastructure, if properly developed and maintained, should surely be of value in the future. As a top player, ChargePoint could be better placed than others to benefit from the expected growth in EVs. You wouldn't want to miss watching how this company evolves over time.\nBloom Energy\nFuel cells have certainly attracted investors' attention lately. However, makers of proton-exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells, such as Plug Power, remain the primary focus. That's because PEM fuel cells find applications in the transport segment due to their quick start and stop times, as well as their lighter weight.\nHowever, another key area for fuel cells that doesn't get so much interest but is of great significance is stationary baseload generation and back-up power. Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) is primarily focused on this segment. It is also expanding into carbon capture technologies, marine transport, and hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers. Overall, the company pegs its total addressable market at over $2 trillion.\nBloom Energy fares better on key financial metrics compared to other fuel cell makers. In the last three years, the company has grown its revenue, shrank losses, and improved margins. Bloom Energy expects that its cash from operations will move toward positive territory for full-year 2021. It also expects to achieve non-GAAP operating margin of around 3% for the year. This overlooked stock definitely needs to be on your watch list of growth target to a Street high of $73 per share from $63 and said OneMain was its top pick for the rest of the year, analyst Kevin Barker wrote.\n“In our view, OMF is the best positioned stock within our coverage over the next 6-12 months,” he said.\nBarker said shares of OneMain have had a bit of an overhang due to a large selling shareholder, but that the stock was getting a bad rap.\n“We believe been.\n“The shares have acted poorly of late, but from a stock picking perspective, we think there’s value here,” he added.\nShmois acknowledged his call was out of consensus as most investors have With shipping containers scarce — or worse, more than double pre-pandemic prices — toymakers are faced with tough decisions ahead of the industry's most important sales season.\n\"We're not seeing any panic yet about the flow of holiday goods,\" said Jefferies analyst Stephanie Wissink.\nWissink noted that toy companies are just entering the ramp-up period of production for toys that ship in September and October for the holidays.\n\"If we see persistent constraints into late-summer, then we will start to worry a bit more,\" she said.\nCurrently, the industry is seeing delays of two-to-three weeks, Wissink said. This is consistent with a report from Davidson analyst Linda Bolton Weiser that was published Friday, although Weiser said delays could be as long as a month.\nWeiser told CNBC that the toy industry has faced shipping challenges in the past and persevered. She noted that several years ago, there was a workers strike at the Port of Los Angeles that threatened holiday sales.\n\"Toy stocks tanked, but [Christmas] went off without a hitch,\" she said. \"Toy companies were able to get their toys loaded on the tops of freighters and unloaded the fastest.\"\nWeiser said her most recent chat with Mattel a few days ago indicated that the company was \"still quite confident about their sales growth for the year.\"\nRepresentatives forHasbroandMatteldid not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.\nToy companies are keeping a careful eye on developments overseas, hoping that pressure on the ports will loosen as vaccinations are more widely distributed globally, outbreaks are more isolated and more air traffic routes reopen.\nFor now, toy companies have not passed on additional shipping costs to the customer, Wissink said. However, there is always a possibility that this could change if the shipping situation does not alleviate.\n\"We note that holiday purchases are very much oriented toward gifting so price sensitivity is somewhat less,\" she said. \"That said, consumers will notice if there's a dramatic increase in prices, but we don't expect that at this stage.\"\nBoth Mattel and Habro shares were recently trading down more than 1% on Friday. Mattel's stock has gained nearly 9% since January, putting its market value at $6.64 billion.
