When Gelsinger unveiled the company’s plans for the future in late March,Intel (ticker: INTC) said it expected full-year earnings of $4 a share from revenue of $76.5 billion. Including various adjustments, such as those related to Intel’s sale of its flash-memory business in 2020, EPS is likely to be $4.55, while revenue is expected to be $72 billion, the company said.
\n
As part of the plan, Intel said it would once again license its x86 chip designs to other companies, and create a foundry services unit that would produce chips for third parties interested in paying Intel to fabricate semiconductors.
\n
Intel didn’t issue precise new financial guidance for the first quarter, but said it expected results better than its prior forecast. The consensus forecast is for adjusted earnings of $1.15 a share from revenue of $17.74 billion.
\n
Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Christopher Rolland, who called the company’s full-year guidance “underwhelming,” said he is expecting investors to focus on Gelsinger’s long-term plans for the company, and to look for more details about Intel’s next generation chip-making technology. It sparked speculation that augmented reality could also be part of the company's presentation.

The image included in invitations to the press hints at new iPads and augmented reality

iPad Pro

Two things are usually a given each springtime: blossoming flowers and the arrival of next-generation iPads. The company isexpectedto show off an updated iPad Pro with a faster processor, 5G support, a Thunderbolt port so it can connect to more external monitors and a Mini LED display.

The display is expected to increase brightness, offer a higher contrast ratio, improve power efficiencies for a longer battery life but be slightly thicker than current versions. It's possible Apple will also show off a redesigned iPad mini with smaller bezels and a larger display. But it's unclear if any of these updates will be enough to convince users to upgrade.

Eleftheria Kouri, an analyst at tech market advisory firm ABI Research, said tablet shipments significantly increased in 2020, thanks in part to remote learning and working. But that uptick won't last forever. \"Tablet vendors, including Apple, need to introduce a really game changing technological feature in order to boost sales and encourage consumers to replace their old devices: 5G connectivity is one of these key features,\" she said.

AirTags

Perhaps the buzziest product in the rumor mill is the potential debut of AirTags, a Tile-like Bluetooth locator that attaches to and helps you find items such as keys, wallets, laptops or even your car. AirTags have been reportedly in the works as far back as 2019 when pictures hidden within iOS 13 suggested small, flat, circular discs with built-in chips could allow someone to locate items when connected to Apple's Find My app.

This is where AR could come into play. In iOS 13, a string of code stated: \"Walk around several feet and move your iPhone up and down until a balloon comes into view,\" indicating where an item may be hiding, according to MacRumors.

Apple TV, privacy features and more

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple unveils a new iPad Pro during a launch event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on October 30, 2018 in New York City.

Not only is the Apple TV due for a new processor and better refresh support for gaming, a redesigned remote could work as a physical locator for AirTags, according to tech blog 9to5Mac.

And then there's AirPods 3. The next-generation of Apple's wireless earbuds are believed to have a design more in line with its higher-end AirPods Pro, along with spatial audio support and touch controls. AirPods have cultivated a cult-like following over the years and emerged as a fashion and status symbol, but it's possible Apple could wait until later this year to show off a new model.

Apple's MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are also due for refreshes, but it's unclear if they'll get one as early as next week. Apple recently discontinued its iMac Pro line, once the most-powerful computer the company offered, and its original HomePod to focus more on the HomePod mini.

The company could also walk users through an expected iOS 14.5 software update focused on privacy. Its upcoming App Tracking Transparency feature will require app developers to explicitly divulge how they're collecting user data, what it'll be used for, and require user consent before they download or update apps from the App Store.

Still, all eyes will be on the lookout for new gadgets on Tuesday. \"Despite the disruptions in the production line, crisis in the semiconductor industry and economic uncertainty that was caused by pandemic, demand for consumer products generally remained resilient,\" said Kouri.

ABI Research expects demand for certain products, such as true wireless earbuds and 5G devices, will see explosive growth the coming years, but tech companies like Apple will first have to provide enough incentive for consumers to spend their dollars.

Apple's event kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT on its website, YouTube and Apple TV.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The company isexpectedto show off an updated iPad Pro with a faster processor, 5G support, a Thunderbolt port so it can connect to more external monitors and a Mini LED display. The display is expected to increase brightness, offer a higher contrast ratio, improve power efficiencies for a longer battery life but be slightly thicker than current versions. It's possible Apple will also show off a redesigned iPad mini with smaller bezels and a larger display. But it's unclear if any of these updates will be enough to convince users to upgrade.Eleftheria Kouri, an analyst at tech market advisory firm ABI Research, said tablet shipments significantly increased in 2020, thanks in part to remote learning and working. AirTags have been reportedly in the works as far back as 2019 when pictures hidden within iOS 13 suggested small, flat, circular discs with built-in chips could allow someone to locate items when connected to Apple's Find My app. This is where AR could come into play. In iOS 13, a string of code stated: \"Walk around several feet and move your iPhone up and down until a balloon comes into view,\" indicating where an item may be hiding, according to MacRumors.Apple TV, privacy features and moreTim Cook, CEO of Apple unveils a new iPad Pro during a launch event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on October 30, 2018 in New York City. Not only is the Apple TV due for a new processor and better refresh support for gaming, a redesigned remote could work as a physical locator for AirTags, according to tech blog 9to5Mac.And then there's AirPods 3. The next-generation of Apple's wireless earbuds are believed to have a design more in line with its higher-end AirPods Pro, along with spatial audio support and touch controls. AirPods have cultivated a cult-like following over the years and emerged as a fashion and status symbol, but it's possible Apple could wait until later this year to show off a new model.Apple's MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are also due for refreshes, but it's unclear if they'll get one as early as next week. It's why, even though we are enjoying a beautiful spring week, Goldman notes that single stock options trading activity is elevated relative to historical levels. To wit, daily options volumes are up 70% in April, up from YTD lows of $2.4bn on 30-Mar.

In total, across single stocks, $544BN of options are set to expiry today, including $305BN calls. As such, today’s expiry could be important for stocks with large open interest in at-the-money(ATM) options, as market makers delta-hedging their unusually large options portfolios will be active. This flow is likely to dampen volatility in some names while exacerbating stock price moves in others.

How to trade this?

As Goldman's Vishal Vivek writes, at major expirations, options traders track situations wherea large amount of open interest is set to expire. In situations where there is a significant amount of expiring open interest in at-the-money strikes (strike prices at or very near the current stockprice), delta-hedging activity can impact the underlying stock’s trading that day. If market makers or other options traders who delta-hedge their positions are net long ATM options, expiration-related flow could have the effect of dampening stock price movements, causing the stock price to settle near the strike with large open interest. This situation is often referred to as a “pin” and can be an ideal situation fora large investor trying to enter/exit a stock position. Alternatively, if delta-hedgers are net short ATM options (have a “negative gamma” position), their hedging activity could exacerbate stock price moves.

What that means it expiration-related trades may cause trading activity to aggressively pick up for stocks with a significant amount of ATM open interest.

So to help traders looking to hop on for daytrading opportunities, here is a table identifying possible focus stocks with large ATM open interest expiring today, which is compared to the average daily volume of the underlying stocks. As Goldman puts it, \"expiration-related activity is likely to have more of an impact if the open interest represents a significant percentage of the stock’s volume.\"

Finally, for what it's worth, this morning our friends at SpotGamma write that this has been a rather strange OPEX cycle, \"with a consistent almost mechanical bid pushing markets higher. We’ve not seen the Call Wall “breached” this many times before, but there are other aberrations that we’ve mentioned in previous notes – like net put sales. We’ve got some theories on this we are posting in a longer form piece.\"

According to SG, because implied volatility has now compressed (ie VIX at new lows) there is now more potential for “long term” volatility. Recall how as of late any sharp, violent drop in markets was bought so quickly (see chart below). These bursts lower coincided with record VIX spikes, but a reflective snap-back bid would bring a market recovery of equal force as the VIX (i.e. implied volatility) reversed.

And one other curious observation from SpotGamma:

When implied volatility is very high, its very sensitive to market moves and also signaling that markets are expecting more large moves ahead. As soon as markets would pause or catch a support level, that implied volatility would quickly reverse lower. We often think of this analogy that if a shark stops swimming, it sinks ( partially true!). If the market stops dropping then Implied volatility sinks.

With this, as we often talk about, lower implied volatility (ie lower VIX) signals market makers have to buy back short hedges which fuels rallies. SG's conclusion: this current level of lower implied volatility now gives the market more downside firepower. Starting with a lower implied volatility “slows down” that responsive “snap-back” buying mechanism. Additionally, gamma is higher when IV is lower so gamma flips may have more juice.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
$544 Billion In Options Expire Today: Here's What Will Move
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n$544 Billion In Options Expire Today: Here's What Will Move\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-16 22:18 GMT+8 zerohedge\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire, may of which will be worthless, and others will be providing a supporting \"pin\" to underlying ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"SPY":"标普500ETF",".IXIC":"NASDAQ Composite",".DJI":"道琼斯",".SPX":"S&P 500 Index"},"source_url":"https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/544-billion-options-expire-today-heres-what-will-move?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+zerohedge%2Ffeed+%28zero+hedge+-+on+a+long+enough+timeline%2C+the+survival+rate+for+everyone+drops+to+zero%29","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1175692875","content_text":"While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire, may of which will be worthless, and others will be providing a supporting \"pin\" to underlying prices. Hear me out, return on equity negative 20%, gross profit margin 25%, and EPS will return you $3 in losses. Why would you want to invest? Original content in the forms of podcast and music integration, a great year in 2019 hints that the future can be brighter for Spotify, and the stock is down nearly 20% from its high.
\n
Spotify has shown that it can deliver good returns as seen in 2019, and it is known to navigate trends quickly. The stock price is now at $287, it could go down further, but this price is a good deal, too. Spotify has zero long-term debt, an improving current ratio, and above all delivered 20% in quarterly YoY revenue growth. What can I say? It must be the content.
\n
Original Content
\n
Spotify has invested a great deal of money in expanding its lineup of original content with podcasts, music content, sports, entertainment, etc. They acquired Anchor in February of 2019 that allows users to create and distribute their podcasts. Spotify has implemented Anchor into their structure by creating music talk shows similar to radio shows, except listeners can interact directly with the shows and add songs to playlists.
\n
Artists can also create a podcast show using Anchor, implementing their music, which gives them some creative control. In that same month, they also acquired Gimlet Media which produces independent podcast content; in the last two years, more have followed with the acquisitions of Parcast, The Ringer, and Megaphone which works primarily in podcast technology. These investments can only benefit Spotify long term, especially with growing consolidation in the industry.
\n
Sirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI) acquired Pandora, Square(NYSE:SQ)bought Tidal,SiriusXM also invested in SoundCloud, and there is still the Apple Music(NASDAQ:AAPL)threat. Props to Spotify for prioritizing content investment now rather than fall behind later. These are instrumental moves that will put Spotify ahead long-term and are crucial in keeping up with the rest of the industry. No one is resting, SiriusXM is moving fast, Apple Music has got a behemoth behind it, and Spotify realizes it also needs to act accordingly.
\n
Numbers and Valuation
\n
Content is expensive, and Spotify invests heavily in original and exclusive content (podcasts and other entertainment propositions). As previously mentioned, this remains an excellent long-term strategy. The consequence of this, the gross profit margin is low. Spotify only delivers about a 25% gross profit margin, and SiriusXM makes a gross profit margin of 55%. Even Netflix(NASDAQ:NFLX)which also has to invest in content delivers 39%. Spotify has deep troubles when it comes to profitability.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Spotify's EPS has rarely turned positive and has remained negative for almost three years now.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Spotify has the advantage of being one of the few mainstream music distributors in streaming; it needs to successfully utilize its business to generate profits. The company does not offer a dividend, and it often falls into negative returns. In 2019, it was hitting a stride with return on equity in the double digits, but that has once again plunged into misery following 2020.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
However, quarterly YoY revenue growth was above 20%: consumers enjoy Spotify, the company has a fixed asset turnover of 10, higher than competitors, and confidence builds in the brand.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Spotify does have a unique proposition in the music industry, and the current price is well-valued. The price to free cash flow is 266 (which is high, to say the least), but it has a price to book value of 15, lower than other competitors.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
EPS was -$3 and the current ratio is 0.8. In July of 2019, EPS was positive at around 0.179. Investors may be frustrated at the returns produced by Spotify in 2021, and they are rightfully displeased. However, Spotify has been able to turn profits, and as it invests more in materials such as podcasts, it will have an edge.
\n
Understandably, it needs to be able to swim with the sharks, pandemic or no pandemic, meaning it needs to have more consistency, but it is still growing and it has the potential to do more. It has a current ratio of 0.8, but this is up from 0.7 in 2019. The company has pivoted fast over the years, and that tenacity will allow it to move higher.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Technical Indicators
\n
RSI remains at 47, which marks it as moderately bought, and the price has already declined steeply from a high of $360.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
This marks a nearly 20% drop for the stock. This is a level not seen since last winter. Based on the chart, the price looks poised to go down further due to the level of the peaks, which is why I would wait. Although gains have been unimpressive this year for Spotify, they were getting closer in 2019, and in the coming years, they can only improve. Spotify is also still a relatively new company, which means more investment than is otherwise required by its peers. We have already seen the potential of Spotify as seen in 2019; it can leverage its advantages in a thriving market.
\n
Conclusion
\n
Spotify has got a great run ahead of it. It is making improvements to the company in terms of original content, and although EPS remained negative, the company is going places. The stock could drop further, and a reasonable buy target would be around $250. Hear me out, return on equity negative 20%, gross profit margin 25%, and EPS will return you $3 in losses. Why would you want to invest? Original content in the forms of podcast and music integration, a great year in 2019 hints that the future can be brighter for Spotify, and the stock is down nearly 20% from its high.\nSpotify has shown that it can deliver good returns as seen in 2019, and it is known to navigate trends quickly. The stock price is now at $287, it could go down further, but this price is a good deal, too. Spotify has zero long-term debt, an improving current ratio, and above all delivered 20% in quarterly YoY revenue growth. What can I say? It must be the content.\nOriginal Content\nSpotify has invested a great deal of money in expanding its lineup of original content with podcasts, music content, sports, entertainment, etc. They acquired Anchor in February of 2019 that allows users to create and distribute their podcasts. Spotify has implemented Anchor into their structure by creating music talk shows similar to radio shows, except listeners can interact directly with the shows and add songs to playlists.\nArtists can also create a podcast show using Anchor, implementing their music, which gives them some creative control. In that same month, they also acquired Gimlet Media which produces independent podcast content; in the last two years, more have followed with the acquisitions of Parcast, The Ringer, and Megaphone which works primarily in podcast technology. These investments can only benefit Spotify long term, especially with growing consolidation in the industry.\nSirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI) acquired Pandora, Square(NYSE:SQ)bought Tidal,SiriusXM also invested in SoundCloud, and there is still the Apple Music(NASDAQ:AAPL)threat. Props to Spotify for prioritizing content investment now rather than fall behind later. These are instrumental moves that will put Spotify ahead long-term and are crucial in keeping up with the rest of the industry. No one is resting, SiriusXM is moving fast, Apple Music has got a behemoth behind it, and Spotify realizes it also needs to act accordingly.\nNumbers and Valuation\nContent is expensive, and Spotify invests heavily in original and exclusive content (podcasts and other entertainment propositions). Spotify has deep troubles when it comes to profitability.\nData by YCharts\nSpotify's EPS has rarely turned positive and has remained negative for almost three years now.\nData by YCharts\nSpotify has the advantage of being one of the few mainstream music distributors in streaming; it needs to successfully utilize its business to generate profits. The company does not offer a dividend, and it often falls into negative returns. In 2019, it was hitting a stride with return on equity in the double digits, but that has once again plunged into misery following 2020.\nData by YCharts\nHowever, quarterly YoY revenue growth was above 20%: consumers enjoy Spotify, the company has a fixed asset turnover of 10, higher than competitors, and confidence builds in the brand.\nData by YCharts\nData by YCharts\nSpotify does have a unique proposition in the music industry, and the current price is well-valued. The price to free cash flow is 266 (which is high, to say the least), but it has a price to book value of 15, lower than other competitors.\nData by YCharts\nData by YCharts\nEPS was -$3 and the current ratio is 0.8. In July of 2019, EPS was positive at around 0.179. Investors may be frustrated at the returns produced by Spotify in 2021, and they are rightfully displeased. However, Spotify has been able to turn profits, and as it invests more in materials such as podcasts, it will have an edge.\nUnderstandably, it needs to be able to swim with the sharks, pandemic or no pandemic, meaning it needs to have more consistency, but it is still growing and it has the potential to do more. It has a current ratio of 0.8, but this is up from 0.7 in 2019. The company has pivoted fast over the years, and that tenacity will allow it to move higher.\nData by YCharts\nTechnical Indicators\nRSI remains at 47, which marks it as moderately bought, and the price has already declined steeply from a high of $360.\nData by YCharts\nData by YCharts\nThis marks a nearly 20% drop for the stock. We have already seen the potential of Spotify as seen in 2019; it can leverage its advantages in a thriving market.\nConclusion\nSpotify has got a great run ahead of it. It is making improvements to the company in terms of original content, and although EPS remained negative, the company is going places. The stock could drop further, and a reasonable buy target would be around $250. That would still mean another 12% drop for the shares, which is less likely.\nHowever, Spotify is a unique business in the space that could also justify the current price point. Spotify is in a unique position in the music industry as it is the most direct competitor to Apple Music, and its investments in original content can only help the company. Overall, Spotify has had its share of the rollercoaster, but it has a bright future for investors.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":57,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":371181526,"gmtCreate":1618920455565,"gmtModify":1704716870311,"author":{"id":"3581636867900700","authorId":"3581636867900700","name":"FattyKorKor","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581636867900700","idStr":"3581636867900700"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"nice","listText":"nice","text":"nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/371181526","repostId":"1185485095","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1185485095","pubTimestamp":1618809881,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1185485095?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-19 13:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"What to expect at Apple's 'Spring loaded' event","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1185485095","media":"CNN Business","summary":"If the \"Spring loaded\" tagline of Apple's upcoming press event is any indication, the company is about to drop a ton of new products.Apple is hosting its first event of 2021 on Tuesday and it'll likely focus on new iPads, along with a product that's been years in the making. The invitations for the virtual press conference sent to reporters last week included an image of colorful spirals that form the Apple logo — a picture potentially made to look as if it had been produced by an Apple Pencil, ","content":"
(CNN Business)If the \"Spring loaded\" tagline of Apple's upcoming press event is any indication, the company is about to drop a ton of new products.

Apple (AAPL) is hosting its first event of 2021 on Tuesday and it'll likely focus on new iPads, along with a product that's been years in the making.

The invitations for the virtual press conference sent to reporters last week included an image of colorful spirals that form the Apple logo — a picture potentially made to look as if it had been produced by an Apple Pencil, a clue hinting at updates to its iPad line.

The company's invitations are often filled with red herrings, but Apple senior marketing executive Greg Joswiak added to the fodder when he tweeted a video featuring an animation of the spirals bouncing around Apple's campus. Its upcoming App Tracking Transparency feature will require app developers to explicitly divulge how they're collecting user data, what it'll be used for, and require user consent before they download or update apps from the App Store.Still, all eyes will be on the lookout for new gadgets on Tuesday. \"Despite the disruptions in the production line, crisis in the semiconductor industry and economic uncertainty that was caused by pandemic, demand for consumer products generally remained resilient,\" said Kouri.ABI Research expects demand for certain products, such as true wireless earbuds and 5G devices, will see explosive growth the coming years, but tech companies like Apple will first have to provide enough incentive for consumers to spend their dollars.Apple's event kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT on its website, YouTube and Apple TV.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":90,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":373882508,"gmtCreate":1618839059804,"gmtModify":1704715635296,"author":{"id":"3581636867900700","authorId":"3581636867900700","name":"FattyKorKor","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581636867900700","idStr":"3581636867900700"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/373882508","repostId":"1129471770","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1129471770","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1618793935,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1129471770?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-19 08:58","market":"us","language":"en","title":"IPO Preview: UiPath Inc, KnowBe4, Zymergen, Latham Holdings Highlight Busy Week Of Offerings","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1129471770","media":"Benzinga","summary":"This week’s offerings don’t have quite the same high profile as last week's highly anticipated IPO o","content":"
This week’s offerings don’t have quite the same high profile as last week's highly anticipated IPO ofCoinbase GlobalCOIN 5.96%.

It's why, even though we are enjoying a beautiful spring week, Goldman notes that single stock options trading activity is elevated relative to historical levels. To wit, daily options volumes are up 70% in April, up from YTD lows of $2.4bn on 30-Mar.In total, across single stocks, $544BN of options are set to expiry today, including $305BN calls. As such, today’s expiry could be important for stocks with large open interest in at-the-money(ATM) options, as market makers delta-hedging their unusually large options portfolios will be active. This flow is likely to dampen volatility in some names while exacerbating stock price moves in others. How to trade this?As Goldman's Vishal Vivek writes, at major expirations, options traders track situations wherea large amount of open interest is set to expire. As Goldman puts it, \"expiration-related activity is likely to have more of an impact if the open interest represents a significant percentage of the stock’s volume.\"Finally, for what it's worth, this morning our friends at SpotGamma write that this has been a rather strange OPEX cycle, \"with a consistent almost mechanical bid pushing markets higher. We’ve not seen the Call Wall “breached” this many times before, but there are other aberrations that we’ve mentioned in previous notes – like net put sales. We’ve got some theories on this we are posting in a longer form piece.\"According to SG, because implied volatility has now compressed (ie VIX at new lows) there is now more potential for “long term” volatility. Recall how as of late any sharp, violent drop in markets was bought so quickly (see chart below). These bursts lower coincided with record VIX spikes, but a reflective snap-back bid would bring a market recovery of equal force as the VIX (i.e. implied volatility) reversed. And one other curious observation from SpotGamma:When implied volatility is very high, its very sensitive to market moves and also signaling that markets are expecting more large moves ahead. Additionally, gamma is higher when IV is lower so gamma flips may have more juice.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":9,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":379912350,"gmtCreate":1618651629570,"gmtModify":1704713848337,"author":{"id":"3581636867900700","authorId":"3581636867900700","name":"FattyKorKor","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581636867900700","idStr":"3581636867900700"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"keep it up","listText":"keep it up","text":"keep it up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/379912350","repostId":"1179330583","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1179330583","pubTimestamp":1618588042,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1179330583?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-16 23:47","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Airbnb CEO says company is going to need millions more hosts to meet surging demand","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1179330583","media":"cnbc","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nAirbnb is going to need millions of new hosts to meet incoming demand as travel picks up","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nAirbnb is going to need millions of new hosts to meet incoming demand as travel picks up again, CEO Brian Chesky told CNBC.\n\"To meet the demand over the coming years, we're going to need ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; But for Airbnb, which relies on people to open their homes to guests, the company will need to ramp up its number of hosts instead of building out more real estate or adding flights to meet demand.\nIt’s a similar problem faced by other companies in the gig economy likeUber, which recently announced a$250 million stimulusin an effort to bring more drivers to its platform.\n“As vaccination rates increase in the United States, we are observing that consumer demand for Mobility is recovering faster than driver availability, and consumer demand for Delivery continues to exceed courier availability,”Uber saidin a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.\nChesky said Airbnb isn’t likely to offer “a lot of incentives” to bring new hosts on board since there’s already a huge amount of demand for service.\n“I think that all we have to do is just continue to tell our story of Airbnb, and the benefits of hosting. And we are seeing a lot of interest,” he said.\nAs part of that, Chesky said the company has done things like launch its “made possible by hosts” ad campaign. The company rolled out a number of advertisements using photographs from Airbnb guests staying in homes around the world, in an effort to create a sense of nostalgia.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":21,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":376137527,"gmtCreate":1619096981069,"gmtModify":1704719575080,"author":{"id":"3581636867900700","authorId":"3581636867900700","name":"FattyKorKor","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581636867900700","idStr":"3581636867900700"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/376137527","repostId":"1147263213","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1147263213","pubTimestamp":1619075516,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1147263213?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-22 15:11","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Intel Reports Earnings Thursday.
Previously, Intel said it expected adjusted first-quarter earnings of $1.10 a share and revenue of $17.5 billion.
According to the analyst’s data sources, notebook sales were strong in the first quarter, but it is less clear what’s coming through the rest of the year.
\n
Analysts predict that Intel’s client computing segment, which includes notebook sales, will report first-quarter revenue of $10.02 billion. That is the company’s largest segment, followed by the data center operation, which is expected to report revenue of $5.84 billion.
\n
Despite Intel’s decision to double down on its manufacturing capabilities, BMO Capital Markets analyst Ambrish Srivastava wrote in a client note Monday that he isn’t expecting executives to offer details about its goals, and their effect on Intel’s financial performance.
\n
Still, Srivastava said, investors should watch closely for commentary about the impact to the company’s capital spending, profit, and free cash flow, among other things.
\n
Intel’s report arrives amid a global shortage of semiconductors that is hurting production of goods ranging from appliances to cars and videogame consoles. Gelsinger has previously told Barron’s that he expects the chip shortage to last two years.
\n
Of the analysts that cover Intel, 43% rate shares at Buy, 34% have Hold ratings, and 23% rate the stock at Sell. The average target for the stock price is $68.71, which implies a return of 8.6%.
\n
Intel stock advanced 1.6% to $63.70 in Wednesday trading. Shares in the chip maker have gained 12% in the past year, while the PHLX Semiconductor index, or Sox, has doubled.
\n
Rolland pointed out that since Intel’s most recent quarterly report, its stock has gained 14%, while the Sox rose 5.8%. When Gelsinger unveiled the company’s plans for the future in late March,Intel (ticker: INTC) said it expected full-year earnings of $4 a share from revenue of $76.5 billion. Including various adjustments, such as those related to Intel’s sale of its flash-memory business in 2020, EPS is likely to be $4.55, while revenue is expected to be $72 billion, the company said.\nAs part of the plan, Intel said it would once again license its x86 chip designs to other companies, and create a foundry services unit that would produce chips for third parties interested in paying Intel to fabricate semiconductors.\nIntel didn’t issue precise new financial guidance for the first quarter, but said it expected results better than its prior forecast. Previously, Intel said it expected adjusted first-quarter earnings of $1.10 a share and revenue of $17.5 billion. The consensus forecast is for adjusted earnings of $1.15 a share from revenue of $17.74 billion.\nSusquehanna Financial Group analyst Christopher Rolland, who called the company’s full-year guidance “underwhelming,” said he is expecting investors to focus on Gelsinger’s long-term plans for the company, and to look for more details about Intel’s next generation chip-making technology. According to the analyst’s data sources, notebook sales were strong in the first quarter, but it is less clear what’s coming through the rest of the year.\nAnalysts predict that Intel’s client computing segment, which includes notebook sales, will report first-quarter revenue of $10.02 billion. That is the company’s largest segment, followed by the data center operation, which is expected to report revenue of $5.84 billion.\nDespite Intel’s decision to double down on its manufacturing capabilities, BMO Capital Markets analyst Ambrish Srivastava wrote in a client note Monday that he isn’t expecting executives to offer details about its goals, and their effect on Intel’s financial performance.\nStill, Srivastava said, investors should watch closely for commentary about the impact to the company’s capital spending, profit, and free cash flow, among other things.\nIntel’s report arrives amid a global shortage of semiconductors that is hurting production of goods ranging from appliances to cars and videogame consoles. Gelsinger has previously told Barron’s that he expects the chip shortage to last two years.\nOf the analysts that cover Intel, 43% rate shares at Buy, 34% have Hold ratings, and 23% rate the stock at Sell. The average target for the stock price is $68.71, which implies a return of 8.6%.\nIntel stock advanced 1.6% to $63.70 in Wednesday trading. Shares in the chip maker have gained 12% in the past year, while the PHLX Semiconductor index, or Sox, has doubled.\nRolland pointed out that since Intel’s most recent quarterly report, its stock has gained 14%, while the Sox rose 5.8%. The analyst said that outperformance may indicate that expectations for the earnings are high, a potential negative for the stock.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":17,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":379916471,"gmtCreate":1618651583793,"gmtModify":1704713847851,"author":{"id":"3581636867900700","authorId":"3581636867900700","name":"FattyKorKor","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581636867900700","idStr":"3581636867900700"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/379916471","repostId":"1175692875","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1175692875","pubTimestamp":1618582708,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1175692875?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-16 22:18","market":"us","language":"en","title":"$544 Billion In Options Expire Today: Here's What Will Move","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1175692875","media":"zerohedge","summary":"While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire","content":"
While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire, may of which will be worthless, and others will be providing a supporting \"pin\" to underlying prices. It sparked speculation that augmented reality could also be part of the company's presentation. The image included in invitations to the press hints at new iPads and augmented realityiPad ProTwo things are usually a given each springtime: blossoming flowers and the arrival of next-generation iPads. But it's unclear if any of these updates will be enough to convince users to upgrade.Eleftheria Kouri, an analyst at tech market advisory firm ABI Research, said tablet shipments significantly increased in 2020, thanks in part to remote learning and working. But that uptick won't last forever. \"Tablet vendors, including Apple, need to introduce a really game changing technological feature in order to boost sales and encourage consumers to replace their old devices: 5G connectivity is one of these key features,\" she said.AirTagsPerhaps the buzziest product in the rumor mill is the potential debut of AirTags, a Tile-like Bluetooth locator that attaches to and helps you find items such as keys, wallets, laptops or even your car. AirTags have been reportedly in the works as far back as 2019 when pictures hidden within iOS 13 suggested small, flat, circular discs with built-in chips could allow someone to locate items when connected to Apple's Find My app. This is where AR could come into play.
That would still mean another 12% drop for the shares, which is less likely.
\n
However, Spotify is a unique business in the space that could also justify the current price point. Spotify is in a unique position in the music industry as it is the most direct competitor to Apple Music, and its investments in original content can only help the company. Overall, Spotify has had its share of the rollercoaster, but it has a bright future for investors.
","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Spotify: The Company Is Spot On
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nSpotify: The Company Is Spot On\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-16 09:55 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nSpotify delivered quarterly YoY revenue growth of 20%.\nSpotify needs to work on its gross profit margin, although certain investments are necessary to continue growth.\nSpotify remains a ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"SPOT":"Spotify Technology S.A."},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4419330-spotify-company-spot-on","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/5a36db9d73b4222bc376d24ccc48c8a4","article_id":"1160547616","content_text":"Summary\n\nSpotify delivered quarterly YoY revenue growth of 20%.\nSpotify needs to work on its gross profit margin, although certain investments are necessary to continue growth.\nSpotify remains a unique entry into the music industry.\nThe share price has declined 20% from its high, and this could be a good entry point.\n\nPhoto by Spencer Platt/Getty Images News via Getty Images\nInvestment Thesis\nSpotify(NYSE:SPOT)is the stock to buy. These investments can only benefit Spotify long term, especially with growing consolidation in the industry.\nSirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI) acquired Pandora, Square(NYSE:SQ)bought Tidal,SiriusXM also invested in SoundCloud, and there is still the Apple Music(NASDAQ:AAPL)threat. Props to Spotify for prioritizing content investment now rather than fall behind later. These are instrumental moves that will put Spotify ahead long-term and are crucial in keeping up with the rest of the industry. No one is resting, SiriusXM is moving fast, Apple Music has got a behemoth behind it, and Spotify realizes it also needs to act accordingly.\nNumbers and Valuation\nContent is expensive, and Spotify invests heavily in original and exclusive content (podcasts and other entertainment propositions). As previously mentioned, this remains an excellent long-term strategy. The consequence of this, the gross profit margin is low. Spotify only delivers about a 25% gross profit margin, and SiriusXM makes a gross profit margin of 55%. Even Netflix(NASDAQ:NFLX)which also has to invest in content delivers 39%. Spotify has deep troubles when it comes to profitability.\nData by YCharts\nSpotify's EPS has rarely turned positive and has remained negative for almost three years now.\nData by YCharts\nSpotify has the advantage of being one of the few mainstream music distributors in streaming; it needs to successfully utilize its business to generate profits. The company does not offer a dividend, and it often falls into negative returns. In 2019, it was hitting a stride with return on equity in the double digits, but that has once again plunged into misery following 2020.\nData by YCharts\nHowever, quarterly YoY revenue growth was above 20%: consumers enjoy Spotify, the company has a fixed asset turnover of 10, higher than competitors, and confidence builds in the brand.\nData by YCharts\nData by YCharts\nSpotify does have a unique proposition in the music industry, and the current price is well-valued. The price to free cash flow is 266 (which is high, to say the least), but it has a price to book value of 15, lower than other competitors.\nData by YCharts\nData by YCharts\nEPS was -$3 and the current ratio is 0.8. In July of 2019, EPS was positive at around 0.179. Investors may be frustrated at the returns produced by Spotify in 2021, and they are rightfully displeased. However, Spotify has been able to turn profits, and as it invests more in materials such as podcasts, it will have an edge.\nUnderstandably, it needs to be able to swim with the sharks, pandemic or no pandemic, meaning it needs to have more consistency, but it is still growing and it has the potential to do more. It has a current ratio of 0.8, but this is up from 0.7 in 2019. The company has pivoted fast over the years, and that tenacity will allow it to move higher.\nData by YCharts\nTechnical Indicators\nRSI remains at 47, which marks it as moderately bought, and the price has already declined steeply from a high of $360.\nData by YCharts\nData by YCharts\nThis marks a nearly 20% drop for the stock. This is a level not seen since last winter. Based on the chart, the price looks poised to go down further due to the level of the peaks, which is why I would wait. Although gains have been unimpressive this year for Spotify, they were getting closer in 2019, and in the coming years, they can only improve. Spotify is also still a relatively new company, which means more investment than is otherwise required by its peers. We have already seen the potential of Spotify as seen in 2019; it can leverage its advantages in a thriving market.\nConclusion\nSpotify has got a great run ahead of it. It is making improvements to the company in terms of original content, and although EPS remained negative, the company is going places. The stock could drop further, and a reasonable buy target would be around $250. That would still mean another 12% drop for the shares, which is less likely.\nHowever, Spotify is a unique business in the space that could also justify the current price point. Spotify is in a unique position in the music industry as it is the most direct competitor to Apple Music, and its investments in original content can only help the company. Overall, Spotify has had its share of the rollercoaster, but it has a bright future for investors.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":57,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
