The latest devices include the company’s M1 processor from the Mac that Apple said is far faster than the A12Z chip in the previous iPad Pro launched about a year ago.
\n
The iPad generated $8.4 billion in revenue during Apple’s key holiday quarter of 2020, the most since 2014. Sales jumped on demand from people working and studying at home during the pandemic. The Cupertino, California-based technology giant is betting on these upgrades to maintain interest in the tablet line, which debuted Tuesday as part of Apple’s product event.
\n
The new iPad Pro also includes a MiniLED screen, dubbed by Apple as the Liquid Retina XDR Display, which the company said will enable brighter colors, more details and improved contrast ratios. The new screen, however, is only available on the pricier and larger 12.9-inch model. Apple will also for the first time offer iPads with fifth-generation, or 5G, wireless connectivity, expanding its 5G portfolio from the iPhone 12 line.
\n
Apple updated the iPad Pro’s camera system, too, with a new 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the front and an improved low-light sensor on the back. The company also announced an updated Magic Keyboard that comes in a new white color.
\n
The new iPad Pros go on sale April 30 and will start at $799 for the 11-inch model. The 12.9-inch version with the MiniLED screen will start at $1,099. Models that are 5G-capable will cost extra, and storage tiers will range to as much as 2 terabytes for the first time. Bloomberg News reported on the new iPads last month.
\n
Apple has increasingly used its expertise in custom chip development to give it a leg up on the competition. The company started transitioning its Mac personal computers to its internally-designed processors last year, dropping components from Intel Corp. The M1 chip in the new iPads is the same chip inside of the latest MacBook Air, entry-level MacBook Pro, Mac mini and new iMac.
\n
The company said that the processor will enable new professional apps and improved rendering for augmented reality. It has eight main computing cores and eight graphics cores, the same as in the Mac chips. That’s more than the A14 processor in the iPhone 12 and cheaper iPad Air, which have six main computing cores and four graphics cores.
\n
Apple said the new iPad Pros will include a Thunderbolt connector for the first time, allowing compatibility with additional accessories such as external monitors. This also lets the iPad sync with some external storage drives at faster speeds. While the port is updated, it is the same size as the USB-C connector on the previous iPad Pro. That means users won’t need to buy new chargers.
","source":"yahoofinance","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Apple Debuts Faster iPad Pro With Brighter Screen and 5G Option
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nApple Debuts Faster iPad Pro With Brighter Screen and 5G Option\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-21 02:25 GMT+8 Bloomberg\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
(Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc. unveiled an updated iPad Pro with a faster processor, 5G connectivity, upgraded screen and new cameras, offering a more powerful version of its priciest tablet aimed at ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aefdc0bba8add475ef9ab7344b6d37b3","relate_stocks":{"09086":"华夏纳指-U","AAPL":"苹果","INTC":"英特尔","03086":"华夏纳指"},"source_url":"https://finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-debuts-faster-ipad-pro-182514236.html","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/5f26f4a48f9cb3e29be4d71d3ba8c038","article_id":"2129774840","content_text":"(Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc. unveiled an updated iPad Pro with a faster processor, 5G connectivity, upgraded screen and new cameras, offering a more powerful version of its priciest tablet aimed at workers and students returning to offices and schools.\nThe new models come in the same 11-inch and 12.9-inch screen sizes as the previous version, and they look nearly identical to the iPad Pro design introduced in 2018. Crypto-exchange operator Coinbase Global, miners Riot Blockchain and Marathon Digital Holdings rebounded between 2% and 5% in sympathy with the digital coin.
\n
Economic data before the opening bell is likely to show the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits fell to 450,000 in the week ended May 15, down for the third straight time in what could be the latest evidence of U.S. worker shortage.
\n
Stocks making the biggest moves in the premarket:
\n
Virgin Galactic (SPCE) – Virgin Galactic shares surged 25% in the premarket after the space travel company said the next test flight of its SpaceShipTwo Unity will occur on May 22. Virgin Galactic said a maintenance review on VMS Eve – the mothership which will carry SpaceShipTwo Unity to altitude – had been completed.
\n
Coinbase (COIN) – Coinbase is on watch after the cryptocurrency exchange operator’s shares fell for the past six days in a row, now down more than 40% from its initial trade on April 14, the day it went public. Wedbush initiated coverage on the stock with an “outperform” rating, citing strong cryptocurrency adoption. Its shares rose 2% in premarket action.
\n
Cisco Systems (CSCO) – Cisco beat estimates by a penny a share, with quarterly earnings of 83 cents per share. The networking equipment maker’s revenue also topped Wall Street forecasts, however Cisco issued weaker-than-expected current-quarter guidance. The company said its profit margins are under pressure from supply chain challenges. Cisco’s shares tumbled 5.6% in premarket trading.
\n
Squarespace (SQSP) – Squarespace remains on watch after the website hosting company’s stock fell during its first trading day. Squarespace went public via direct listing, with a reference price of $50 and initial trading at $48, but the value was below where it had been during a private stock sale earlier this year.
\n
Hormel Foods (HRL) – Hormel reported quarterly earnings of 42 cents per share, a penny a share above estimates. The food producer's revenue also came in above analysts' projections. The company behind brands like Spam, Dinty Moore and Jennie-O said demand in its various channels remains elevated compared to pre-pandemic levels.
\n
BJ’s Wholesale (BJ) – The warehouse retailer reported quarterly earnings of 72 cents per share, 15 cents a share above estimates. Revenue beat estimates as well. The retailer’s comparable-store sales ex-fuel fell by 5%, but that was smaller than the 8.3% drop predicted by analysts who were surveyed by FactSet. BJ’s also said that the rest of 2021 remains difficult to forecast. Its shares sank 4.3% in premarket trading.
\n
Kohl’s (KSS) – Kohl’s shares fell 6% in premarket action, despite beats on both the top and bottom lines for its latest quarter. Kohl’s earned $1.05 per share, compared to a 4 cents a share consensus estimate. Revenue topped forecasts and the retailer also raised its outlook.
\n
Petco (WOOF) – Petco fell 3.3% in premarket action, after reporting quarterly earnings of 17 cents per share compared to a consensus estimate of 9 cents a share. The pet products retailer’s revenue also beat Wall Street forecasts, and it raised its full-year outlook.
\n
L Brands (LB) – L Brands came in 4 cents a share above estimates, with quarterly profit of $1.25 per share. It's why, even though we are enjoying a beautiful spring week, Goldman notes that single stock options trading activity is elevated relative to historical levels. To wit, daily options volumes are up 70% in April, up from YTD lows of $2.4bn on 30-Mar.

In total, across single stocks, $544BN of options are set to expiry today, including $305BN calls. As such, today’s expiry could be important for stocks with large open interest in at-the-money(ATM) options, as market makers delta-hedging their unusually large options portfolios will be active. This flow is likely to dampen volatility in some names while exacerbating stock price moves in others.

How to trade this?

As Goldman's Vishal Vivek writes, at major expirations, options traders track situations wherea large amount of open interest is set to expire. In situations where there is a significant amount of expiring open interest in at-the-money strikes (strike prices at or very near the current stockprice), delta-hedging activity can impact the underlying stock’s trading that day. If market makers or other options traders who delta-hedge their positions are net long ATM options, expiration-related flow could have the effect of dampening stock price movements, causing the stock price to settle near the strike with large open interest. This situation is often referred to as a “pin” and can be an ideal situation fora large investor trying to enter/exit a stock position. Alternatively, if delta-hedgers are net short ATM options (have a “negative gamma” position), their hedging activity could exacerbate stock price moves.

What that means it expiration-related trades may cause trading activity to aggressively pick up for stocks with a significant amount of ATM open interest.

So to help traders looking to hop on for daytrading opportunities, here is a table identifying possible focus stocks with large ATM open interest expiring today, which is compared to the average daily volume of the underlying stocks. As Goldman puts it, \"expiration-related activity is likely to have more of an impact if the open interest represents a significant percentage of the stock’s volume.\"

Finally, for what it's worth, this morning our friends at SpotGamma write that this has been a rather strange OPEX cycle, \"with a consistent almost mechanical bid pushing markets higher. We’ve not seen the Call Wall “breached” this many times before, but there are other aberrations that we’ve mentioned in previous notes – like net put sales. We’ve got some theories on this we are posting in a longer form piece.\"

According to SG, because implied volatility has now compressed (ie VIX at new lows) there is now more potential for “long term” volatility. Recall how as of late any sharp, violent drop in markets was bought so quickly (see chart below). These bursts lower coincided with record VIX spikes, but a reflective snap-back bid would bring a market recovery of equal force as the VIX (i.e. implied volatility) reversed.

And one other curious observation from SpotGamma:

When implied volatility is very high, its very sensitive to market moves and also signaling that markets are expecting more large moves ahead. As soon as markets would pause or catch a support level, that implied volatility would quickly reverse lower. We often think of this analogy that if a shark stops swimming, it sinks ( partially true!). If the market stops dropping then Implied volatility sinks.

With this, as we often talk about, lower implied volatility (ie lower VIX) signals market makers have to buy back short hedges which fuels rallies. SG's conclusion: this current level of lower implied volatility now gives the market more downside firepower. Starting with a lower implied volatility “slows down” that responsive “snap-back” buying mechanism. Additionally, gamma is higher when IV is lower so gamma flips may have more juice.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
$544 Billion In Options Expire Today: Here's What Will Move
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n$544 Billion In Options Expire Today: Here's What Will Move\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-16 22:18 GMT+8 zerohedge\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire, may of which will be worthless, and others will be providing a supporting \"pin\" to underlying ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{".DJI":"道琼斯",".IXIC":"NASDAQ Composite","SPY":"标普500ETF",".SPX":"S&P 500 Index"},"source_url":"https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/544-billion-options-expire-today-heres-what-will-move?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+zerohedge%2Ffeed+%28zero+hedge+-+on+a+long+enough+timeline%2C+the+survival+rate+for+everyone+drops+to+zero%29","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1175692875","content_text":"While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire, may of which will be worthless, and others will be providing a supporting \"pin\" to underlying prices. As Goldman puts it, \"expiration-related activity is likely to have more of an impact if the open interest represents a significant percentage of the stock’s volume.\"Finally, for what it's worth, this morning our friends at SpotGamma write that this has been a rather strange OPEX cycle, \"with a consistent almost mechanical bid pushing markets higher. We’ve not seen the Call Wall “breached” this many times before, but there are other aberrations that we’ve mentioned in previous notes – like net put sales. We’ve got some theories on this we are posting in a longer form piece.\"According to SG, because implied volatility has now compressed (ie VIX at new lows) there is now more potential for “long term” volatility. Recall how as of late any sharp, violent drop in markets was bought so quickly (see chart below). These bursts lower coincided with record VIX spikes, but a reflective snap-back bid would bring a market recovery of equal force as the VIX (i.e. implied volatility) reversed. And one other curious observation from SpotGamma:When implied volatility is very high, its very sensitive to market moves and also signaling that markets are expecting more large moves ahead. Additionally, gamma is higher when IV is lower so gamma flips may have more juice.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":117,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":198649030,"gmtCreate":1620957593720,"gmtModify":1704351110657,"author":{"id":"3581732379296720","authorId":"3581732379296720","name":"kimkimlaw","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aa6b20a6b00f59b6a60ad7daab5b46d2","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581732379296720","idStr":"3581732379296720"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Watching baba","listText":"Watching baba","text":"Watching baba","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/198649030","repostId":"2135766316","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2135766316","pubTimestamp":1620955320,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2135766316?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-14 09:22","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Best Stocks To Invest In Right Now? 4 E-Commerce Stocks To Watch","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2135766316","media":"StreetInsider","summary":"4 Top E-commerce Stocks To Watch In The Stock Market TodayLately, investing in the stock market can ","content":"
4 Top E-commerce Stocks To Watch In The Stock Market Today

Lately, investing in the stock market can be a challenging task. But if you have got to bet on something, e-commerce stocks could be a good option in the long run. Now, why is that so? E-commerce allows businesses to reach out to customers in more ways than before. As time goes by, we will continue to see consumers migrating towards purchasing online for the sake of convenience and the ability to research products in real-time. Just as we have Amazon in the U.S., some consider Alibaba as the Amazon of China. Both companies have one thing in common, they are both tech-driven companies that have expanded beyond their core e-commerce divisions. The company is also one of the biggest venture capital firms with one of the biggest investment corporations in the world. Today, Alibaba announced its much-anticipated earnings report for the quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 2021.

It has been a historic fiscal year for the company as it reached a milestone of 1 billion annual active users globally. Revenue came in 64% higher year over year to $28.6 billion. However, the company recorded a net loss of $1.16 billion. This can be attributed to the $2.8 billion fine levied by China's State Administration for Market Regulation according to China's Anti-monopoly Law. That aside, the overall business delivered strong growth on a healthy foundation.

In other news, Alibaba's Taobao Live also announced in April that it would supercharge its ecosystem to yield further success for merchants and brands on the platform. It aims to support 2,000 live stream channels and 200 partners to significantly boost its sales. All things considered, would you invest in BABA stock with its current dip?

eBay Inc

Next up, we have the global commerce company, eBay. The company's technology allows sellers worldwide to offer their inventory for sale, virtually anytime and anywhere. eBay's platforms are accessible through a traditional online experience, mobile devices, and its application programming interfaces (APIs). Hence, consumers could easily access its platform as long as they have access to the internet. The company's stock has been trading sideways since the start of the year. However, for those who invested a year ago, you would've seen a gain of over 40%. So could EBAY stock resume its upward trend moving forward?

Earlier this month, the company announced that there is a possibility of accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment in the future. Consumers can now purchase NFTs on its broad online marketplace. This reflects an expansion of eBay's digital collectibles business, in line with the increasing popularity of NFTs this year. On top of that, net income was boosted by a $1.3 billion unrealized gain on its investment in online payments company Affirm (NASDAQ: AFRM), which went public in January. As of the end of March, Shopify has extended a cumulative $2 billion of funds to merchants through Shopify Capital. This is to help boost its fast-growing merchant base through the help of machine learning. Therefore, with such impressive financial figures and innovation, would you buy SHOP stock now?

Amazon.com, Inc

The last on this list requires no introduction. We have e-commerce giant Amazon. The company offers a range of products and services through its websites. As the novel coronavirus began spreading its way around the world,American Airlines(NASDAQ:AAL) stock tumbled badly.

At one point, AAL stock was trading hands in single-digit territory, something that wasn’t seen since the aftermath of the Great Recession.

Still, what we’ve learned from that economic catastrophe, along with other incredibly disruptive events such as the 9/11 terror attack, is that time eventually heals all wounds. Now, it’s fair to point out that we’re still not out of the woods in terms of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, cases are down substantially from their peak, while the vaccine rollout has been very encouraging for previously hard-hit investments like AAL stock.

Indeed, American and its competition, such asUnited Airlines(NASDAQ:UAL) andDelta(NYSE:DAL), is experiencing a much-needed revival. For AAL stock specifically, shares are up nearly 40% on a year-to-date basis. And over the trailing six months, American’s equity unit is up almost 80%. It’s a similar tale for the other majors.

Multiple factors support the narrative that the worst is behind AAL stock. Primarily, the economy registered encouraging signs that, while not perfect, is building robust momentum. For instance, the March jobs report obliterated analysts’ expectations, with total nonfarm payroll employment rising by 916,000. With that figure, theunemployment rate is down to 6%.

Keep in mind that during the peak of the crisis, unemployment was at 14.8%(in April 2020).

The other massive catalyst is consumer sentiment. Not necessarily the index but rather, people are getting over their fears of flying during Covid. According toairport screening data, for the month so far (data up to April 13), passenger volume is down roughly 39% from pre-pandemic levels.

That’s a paradigm shift from where we were in April 2020. Yet recently, American Airlines shares have lost momentum. Why?

Not Everything About AAL Stock Is Rosy

Although the ramp-up in air passenger volume is a net positive all things considered, severe turbulence still stymies AAL stock. First, we may need to explore the idea that passenger volume improvement will be slow going over the next several months.

Let me just say that I don’t know for sure how the consumer will react. But according toMorning Consult, just under two in five adults feel comfortablegoing to a movie theater. Among the most comfortable is Generation Z. But at 49%, it raises the question about how tenuous this increased sentiment may be.

I don’t want to jinx anything. But when I see soft survey data like that, it reminds me that all it takes is one bad turn with Covid-19 for positive momentum to die back down. That was the warning shot presented by aBloombergreport in late March, which stated thatCovid cases were rising again.

I checked the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Let’s just say that I’m not thrilled with the data and the prospects of further lockdowns.

Another point that I believe is relevant to AAL stock and the underlying industry is the social situation. I’ve made this argument before, but we need tourism dollars now more than ever. Don’t get me wrong – it’s wonderful that our economy is improving, at least on paper. But it has taken unprecedented monetary and fiscal support to get these metrics.

Improvements Need to Happen Much, Much Quicker

Analyzingenplanementdata, I’m encouraged with what I’m seeing. Based on the numbers and extrapolating the general sentiment, it’s possible that once April is done and over with, we could be looking at an employment figure of 45 million.

That’s welcome news. But it’s dramatically below where we need to be. In 2019, we routinely saw seasonally adjusted monthly figures hit over 77 million.

And that’s reflected in the financial statements for companies like American Airlines. In this case, American generated revenue of $17.3 billion in 2020, down 62% from 2019. It’s not that the improvements aren’t happening because they are. Rather, we need to see massive, groundbreaking progress.

We’re just not there yet. And we don’t know when that improvement will occur. For this reason, I believe investors are shying away from AAL stock. Personally, you might do well following their lead.

We need to look long and hard attotal public debt as a percentage of GDP. Previously, it was hovering roughly around 103% on average. As of the fourth quarter of 2020, it’s up at 129%. That’s a staggering gap. Tourism dollars, though, are accretive for our economy.

The thing is, who would want to visit the U.S. right now with all its myriad problems and social crises? Frankly, I’m looking to leave rather than stay.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Don’t Be Too Quick to Book American Airlines in Your Portfolio
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nDon’t Be Too Quick to Book American Airlines in Your Portfolio\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-19 11:19 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
AAL stock is flirting with risky fundamentals.Aside from the cruise ship industry, I can’t think of a worst-hit sector fundamentally than the air travel market. Why?Not Everything About AAL Stock Is RosyAlthough the ramp-up in air passenger volume is a net positive all things considered, severe turbulence still stymies AAL stock. First, we may need to explore the idea that passenger volume improvement will be slow going over the next several months.Let me just say that I don’t know for sure how the consumer will react. But according toMorning Consult, just under two in five adults feel comfortablegoing to a movie theater. Among the most comfortable is Generation Z. But at 49%, it raises the question about how tenuous this increased sentiment may be.I don’t want to jinx anything. But when I see soft survey data like that, it reminds me that all it takes is one bad turn with Covid-19 for positive momentum to die back down. That was the warning shot presented by aBloombergreport in late March, which stated thatCovid cases were rising again.I checked the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Let’s just say that I’m not thrilled with the data and the prospects of further lockdowns.Another point that I believe is relevant to AAL stock and the underlying industry is the social situation. I’ve made this argument before, but we need tourism dollars now more than ever. Don’t get me wrong – it’s wonderful that our economy is improving, at least on paper. But it has taken unprecedented monetary and fiscal support to get these metrics.Improvements Need to Happen Much, Much QuickerAnalyzingenplanementdata, I’m encouraged with what I’m seeing. Personally, you might do well following their lead.We need to look long and hard attotal public debt as a percentage of GDP. Frankly, I’m looking to leave rather than stay.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":169,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":371758216,"gmtCreate":1618974400135,"gmtModify":1704717729536,"author":{"id":"3581732379296720","authorId":"3581732379296720","name":"kimkimlaw","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aa6b20a6b00f59b6a60ad7daab5b46d2","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581732379296720","idStr":"3581732379296720"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Is time to get in then ?","listText":"Is time to get in then ?","text":"Is time to get in then ?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/371758216","repostId":"1122253275","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1122253275","pubTimestamp":1618967370,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1122253275?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-21 09:09","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Is the Stock Market Down Today? This week, the stock market can’t seem to","content":"
Just last Friday, the S&P 500 had closed at a record high. This week, the stock market can’t seem to find its footing, with the major indexes slumping again Tuesday.
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 256.33 points, or 0.8%, the S&P 500 fell 0.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite finished off 0.9%.
\n
It’s been a while since the stock market had a meaningful drop, and this one may not actually qualify. This was the S&P 500’s largest drop since just March 23, so the current pullback may not be worth getting excited about. Then again, it could be the start of something bigger. Here are four reasons markets fell today.
\n
Covid Cases are rising globally. The seven-day average hit 628,035 on April 10, up 63% from 384346 on Feb. 28. Global cases have topped 142 million, and India recently reported more than 250,000 cases on its own. The continued spread threatens to overwhelm the positive narrative about vaccines in the U.S. Reports that India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the country and that a full lockdown could but put in place has only spooked the market further.
\n
The vaccine narrative is weakening. The market opened lower this morning, but the drop really accelerated when the European Medicines Agency announced that it had found a possible link to very rare cases of blood clots in users of Johnson & Johnson’s (JNJ) vaccine, and said a warning should be added. That overwhelmed its conclusion that the ‘overall benefit-risk remains positive’ for the vaccine because it could mean fewer people get vaccinated. Even before the latest announcement, confidence was eroding. “It doesn’t seem likely that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is going to completely disappear anytime soon,” JPMorgan strategists concluded in a report released Tuesday. “The lack of a vaccine for those aged under 18 years, the less than 100% take-up of vaccines, the less than 100% efficacy of vaccines and the development of variants mean that the prevalence of infection will remain for a long time, even if at a low level.”
\n
The reopening narrative is weakening. United Airlines (UAL) earnings were worse than expected. The U.S. State Department put 80% of the world’s nations on a “do not travel” list due to high levels of Covid. And the worst performing stocks are part of the reopening trade. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) closed down 4.4%, American Airlines (AAL) slid 5.5%, Marriott International (MAR) fell 4%, Devon Energy (DVN) slumped 4.8%, and Zions Bancorp (ZION) has tumbled 6.5%. That pretty much says it all right there.
\n
Investors are questioning the economic recovery. At this point, everyone knows that the economic recovery is going to be strong. When even the International Monetary Fund realizes that’s the case, you know it’s consensus. Now, the market is wrestling with whether growth has peaked or if there’s further acceleration ahead. With little economic data to shift the narrative this week, investors are asking “what have you done for me lately.”
\n
None of this means a bear market is ahead of us, and just because investors are embracing a narrative, doesn’t mean that’s how the future plays out. It is the future, after all. But the market is always trying to adjust to greater risk after a massive rally. Perhaps a little more volatility is warranted.
","source":"lsy1610680873436","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Why Is the Stock Market Down Today? That’s more than the A14 processor in the iPhone 12 and cheaper iPad Air, which have six main computing cores and four graphics cores.\nApple said the new iPad Pros will include a Thunderbolt connector for the first time, allowing compatibility with additional accessories such as external monitors. This also lets the iPad sync with some external storage drives at faster speeds. While the port is updated, it is the same size as the USB-C connector on the previous iPad Pro. That means users won’t need to buy new chargers.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":160,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":139019893,"gmtCreate":1621573114512,"gmtModify":1704359906923,"author":{"id":"3581732379296720","authorId":"3581732379296720","name":"kimkimlaw","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aa6b20a6b00f59b6a60ad7daab5b46d2","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581732379296720","idStr":"3581732379296720"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"How is HUYA going ?
