After all, the Dow is a collection of the market's oldest, stodgiest, and slowest-moving companies meant for your grandmother's portfolio, right?</p>\n<p>If that's your perception of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, you might want to take another look. In recent years, the DJIA has been tweaked and modernized for the current tech-driven era. More than that, though, it includes a handful of companies that are anything but old school. One of these stocks even has the potential to double its value (again) in less than five years.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/631cf3238264bad315f43eda4132590c\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"466\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>It's not yesteryear's Dow Jones Industrial Average</h2>\n<p>The Dow component that has this potential: <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/CRM\">Salesforce</a>.com</b> (NYSE:CRM).</p>\n<p>Yes, the provider of a cloud-based, customer relationship management platform is, in fact, a DJIA component. It was added to the index in August 2020 (in the midst of the pandemic) along with <b>Amgen</b> (NASDAQ:AMGN) and <b>Honeywell</b> (NASDAQ:HON), replacing more-traditional stocks like <b>ExxonMobil</b>, <b>Pfizer</b>, and <b>Raytheon Technologies</b>.</p>\n<p>That round of swapping was the latest in a bigger effort to bring the index further into the 21st century. Unsurprisingly, it has juiced the Dow's returns just a bit. It's up more than 90% for the past five years despite the early 2020 swoon linked to the onset of COVID-19, and higher by 200% for the past 10 years.</p>\n<p>Salesforce didn't contribute to most of that bullish effort, but don't be surprised if it's a key driver of similar gains in the Dow over the next five- and 10-year stretches.</p>\n<h2>Salesforce's bright future</h2>\n<p>If you're not familiar with it, Salesforce is <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the original companies to commercialize cloud computing, before the term even began to be widely used. Its online customer database and customer-management platform were launched in 1999, and there was nothing else quite like it at the time.</p>\n<p>That's certainly changed in the meantime. Not only is the customer relationship management (CRM) space now relatively crowded with competitors, but after 22 years of availability, the whole CRM thing has seemingly run most of its course. What's left?</p>\n<p>As it turns out, for Salesforce, quite a lot.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/70402b628ff39aa410477caa22af642c\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"525\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<p>The best days for basic CRM offerings might be in the rearview mirror, but what lies ahead are all sorts of revenue-bearing integrations with Salesforce's existing platform. For instance, earlier this week <b>FedEx</b> announced a partnership with Salesforce that will offer e-commerce and supply chain tools to business clients with such a need. In July, Salesforce completed its acquisition of intra-enterprise communication platform Slack, and by August had integrated its CRM tools with Slack's user interface. Salesforce-owned Tableau, which helps organizations collect and analyze all sorts of data, unveiled changes to its service earlier this month that will make it more secure, yet also easier to use at a greater scale.</p>\n<p>And this is just a recent sampling of how the company continues to improve its suite of services. Others have yet to be imagined. They're coming, though, spurred by the emerging new norm in workplaces: working from home (or at least working there more often).</p>\n<h2>Capitalizing on the new norm</h2>\n<p>This wasn't exactly the plan a year ago. Most organizations that expected employees to regularly report to an office before the pandemic similarly expected them to return to the office once the pandemic had passed. Working from home has worked out better than most organizations could have hoped, however, and given that the coronavirus has yet to fully pass (and might never really do so), at least some companies are rethinking their office-attendance policies altogether.</p>\n<p>Take researcher Omdia's recent Future of Work survey as an example. It indicates that more than two-thirds of all U.S. employers believe overall productivity has improved since workers were allowed to do their jobs outside of a centralized office. The same survey suggests more than half of all employees will be doing at least some work from home for the indefinite future.</p>\n<p>In this vein, PwC reports that 72% of U.S. executives currently plan to increase their investment in virtual (online) collaboration tools. Technology market researcher IDC forecasts that spending on work-based software -- including cloud-based collaboration and analytics tools -- will grow more than 21% per year through 2024.</p>\n<p>It all plays right into Salesforce's hands, setting the stage for the stock to move from its current price near $257 to a value in excess of $500.</p>\n<h2>Bottom line</h2>\n<p>There's still something of a wait before we see that move fully pan out, to be clear.</p>\n<p>Salesforce is in the right place at the right time, and it's poised for more double-digit percentage growth for the next several years. But there are limits. This company's clients are other companies, for example, which tend to move slowly when making purchases and entering new service contracts no matter how great the need.</p>\n<p>Compared to any other Dow component, though, Salesforce is still easily the company that's best positioned for strong, reliable growth for the next several years.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3348cbed1f7f70f45b84749230a42902\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"441\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Data source: Thomson Reuters. After all, the Dow is a collection of the market's oldest, stodgiest, and slowest-moving companies meant for your grandmother's portfolio, right?\nIf that's your perception of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, you might want to take another look. In recent years, the DJIA has been tweaked and modernized for the current tech-driven era. More than that, though, it includes a handful of companies that are anything but old school. One of these stocks even has the potential to double its value (again) in less than five years.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nIt's not yesteryear's Dow Jones Industrial Average\nThe Dow component that has this potential: Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM).\nYes, the provider of a cloud-based, customer relationship management platform is, in fact, a DJIA component. It was added to the index in August 2020 (in the midst of the pandemic) along with Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) and Honeywell (NASDAQ:HON), replacing more-traditional stocks like ExxonMobil, Pfizer, and Raytheon Technologies.\nThat round of swapping was the latest in a bigger effort to bring the index further into the 21st century. Unsurprisingly, it has juiced the Dow's returns just a bit. It's up more than 90% for the past five years despite the early 2020 swoon linked to the onset of COVID-19, and higher by 200% for the past 10 years.\nSalesforce didn't contribute to most of that bullish effort, but don't be surprised if it's a key driver of similar gains in the Dow over the next five- and 10-year stretches.\nSalesforce's bright future\nIf you're not familiar with it, Salesforce is one of the original companies to commercialize cloud computing, before the term even began to be widely used. Its online customer database and customer-management platform were launched in 1999, and there was nothing else quite like it at the time.\nThat's certainly changed in the meantime. Not only is the customer relationship management (CRM) space now relatively crowded with competitors, but after 22 years of availability, the whole CRM thing has seemingly run most of its course. What's left?\nAs it turns out, for Salesforce, quite a lot.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThe best days for basic CRM offerings might be in the rearview mirror, but what lies ahead are all sorts of revenue-bearing integrations with Salesforce's existing platform. For instance, earlier this week FedEx announced a partnership with Salesforce that will offer e-commerce and supply chain tools to business clients with such a need. In July, Salesforce completed its acquisition of intra-enterprise communication platform Slack, and by August had integrated its CRM tools with Slack's user interface. Salesforce-owned Tableau, which helps organizations collect and analyze all sorts of data, unveiled changes to its service earlier this month that will make it more secure, yet also easier to use at a greater scale.\nAnd this is just a recent sampling of how the company continues to improve its suite of services. Others have yet to be imagined. They're coming, though, spurred by the emerging new norm in workplaces: working from home (or at least working there more often).\nCapitalizing on the new norm\nThis wasn't exactly the plan a year ago. Most organizations that expected employees to regularly report to an office before the pandemic similarly expected them to return to the office once the pandemic had passed. Working from home has worked out better than most organizations could have hoped, however, and given that the coronavirus has yet to fully pass (and might never really do so), at least some companies are rethinking their office-attendance policies altogether.\nTake researcher Omdia's recent Future of Work survey as an example. It indicates that more than two-thirds of all U.S. employers believe overall productivity has improved since workers were allowed to do their jobs outside of a centralized office. The same survey suggests more than half of all employees will be doing at least some work from home for the indefinite future.\nIn this vein, PwC reports that 72% of U.S. executives currently plan to increase their investment in virtual (online) collaboration tools. Technology market researcher IDC forecasts that spending on work-based software -- including cloud-based collaboration and analytics tools -- will grow more than 21% per year through 2024.\nIt all plays right into Salesforce's hands, setting the stage for the stock to move from its current price near $257 to a value in excess of $500.\nBottom line\nThere's still something of a wait before we see that move fully pan out, to be clear.\nSalesforce is in the right place at the right time, and it's poised for more double-digit percentage growth for the next several years. But there are limits. This company's clients are other companies, for example, which tend to move slowly when making purchases and entering new service contracts no matter how great the need.\nCompared to any other Dow component, though, Salesforce is still easily the company that's best positioned for strong, reliable growth for the next several years.\nData source: Thomson Reuters. The market is expected to see some 375 deals for the year, raising $125 billion, according to Renaissance, beating the $97 billion raised in 2000 during the dot-com boom. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>“After the long summer break, this week is a litmus test for upcoming tech, biotech, and consumer IPOs,” Smith wrote in a market commentary. The list includes a Swiss running-shoe company backed by tennis giant Roger Federer, a drive-through coffee kiosk operator and a mortgage insurer that was spun out of insurer Genworth Financial. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The biggest deal of the week is expected to come from Thoughtworks,a Chicago-based technology consultancy that will go public at a valuation of up to $6.1 billion.</p>\n<p>The company, which expects to change its name from Turing Holding Corp. to Thoughtworks with completion of the IPO, said a total of 36.84 million shares will be offered, split between the company and selling shareholders.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The deal is expected to price at between $18 and $20 a share, and the stock will trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “TWKS.” Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are the lead underwriters. The company recorded net income of $79.3 million on revenue of $803.4 million in 2020, after income of $28.4 million on revenue of $772.2 million in 2019.</p>\n<p>The Swiss athletic-footwear maker On Holding&nbsp;is expected to raise up to $622 million at a valuation of almost $6 billion. On has applied to list 31.1 million shares priced at $18 to $20 each on the New York Stock Exchange, under the ticker symbol “ONON.”</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Morgan Stanley are lead underwriters in a syndicate of nine banks on the On deal. Proceeds are to be used for general corporate purposes. The company has a line that it co-developed with Federer.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The company had net income of 3.8 million Swiss francs ($4.1 million) in the six months through June 30, after a loss of 33.1 million francs in the year-earlier period,&nbsp;according to its IPO documents.&nbsp;Sales came to 315.5 million francs, up from 170.9 million francs.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Also from Switzerland, sports betting site Sportrader Group AG&nbsp;plans to offer 19 million shares priced at $25 to $28 each, for a valuation of up to $31 billion. The company has applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “SRAD.” JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and UBS are lead underwriters in a syndicate of 13 banks working on the deal.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Proceeds are to be used for working capital and to spur growth. The company had a net profit of $29.9 million in the first six months of the year, on revenue of $321 million,&nbsp;according to its filing documents.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Dutch Bros Inc.,an operator of drive-through shops that serve hot and cold drinks mostly in western U.S. states, is planning to offer 21.1 million shares priced at $18 to $20 each in its IPO, valuing the company at up to $3.3 billion.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>BofA Securities, JPMorgan and Jefferies are lead underwriters in a syndicate of 13 banks working on the deal. The company has applied to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “BROS.”</p>\n<p>Proceeds are to be used to purchase additional Class A shares — the company is planning to have four classes of stock with differing voting rights. The company had a net loss of $13.6 million, or 32 cents a share, in the first six months of the year, narrower than the loss of $16.5 million, or 38 cents a share, posted in the year-earlier period. Revenue fell to $227.9 million from $327.4 million.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Rounding out the list are:</b></p>\n<p>•&nbsp;Definitive Healthcare Corp.,&nbsp;a Massachusetts-based provider of healthcare commercial intelligence, is planning to offer 15.56 million shares in its PO, which is expected to price between $21 and $24 a share. At that pricing, the company could be valued at up to $3.55 billion.</p>\n<p>•&nbsp;Enact Holdings Inc., a mortgage insurer owned by Genworth, is planning to offer 13.3 million shares priced at $19 to $20 each. The company would be valued at $3.3 billion at the top of that range. The company said all shares will be sold by Genworth and it will not receive any proceeds. It has applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker “ACT.” Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are lead underwriters in a team of nine banks working on the deal.</p>\n<p>•&nbsp;ForgeRock<a href=\"https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/FORG?mod=MW_story_quote&amp;mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\">,</a>&nbsp;a California-based identity security platform, is looking to raise up to $264 million with an offering of 11 million shares priced between $21 and $24 a share. That pricing would value the company a valuation of up to $1.91 billion.</p>\n<p>The stock is expected to list on the NYSE under the ticker symbol “FORG.” Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are the lead underwriters. The company recorded a net loss of $41.8 million on revenue of $127.6 million in 2020, after a loss of $36.9 million on revenue of $104.5 million in 2019.</p>\n<p><b>•</b>Dice Therapeutics&nbsp;is expected to raise up to $170 million at a valuation of up to $583 million and list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “DICE.” The biotech is developing therapies to treat chronic diseases in the field of immunology.</p>\n<p><b>•</b>Surgical robotics developer Procept BioRobotics,is aiming to raise up to $132 million at a valuation of about $1 billion with plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “PRCT.” BofA Securities and Goldman Sachs are lead underwriters.</p>\n<p>“We develop, manufacture and sell the AquaBeam Robotic System, an advanced, image-guided, surgical robotic system for use in minimally invasive urologic surgery with an initial focus on treating benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH,” the company says in its IPO documents.</p>\n<p><b>•</b>Tyra Biosciences is aiming to raise $107.2 million in IPO proceeds at a valuation of $589 million. The biotech’s leading product candidate is a treatment for bladder cancer. It was added to the index in August 2020 (in the midst of the pandemic) along with <b>Amgen</b> (NASDAQ:AMGN) and <b>Honeywell</b> (NASDAQ:HON), replacing more-traditional stocks like <b>ExxonMobil</b>, <b>Pfizer</b>, and <b>Raytheon Technologies</b>.</p>\n<p>That round of swapping was the latest in a bigger effort to bring the index further into the 21st century. Unsurprisingly, it has juiced the Dow's returns just a bit. It's up more than 90% for the past five years despite the early 2020 swoon linked to the onset of COVID-19, and higher by 200% for the past 10 years.</p>\n<p>Salesforce didn't contribute to most of that bullish effort, but don't be surprised if it's a key driver of similar gains in the Dow over the next five- and 10-year stretches.</p>\n<h2>Salesforce's bright future</h2>\n<p>If you're not familiar with it, Salesforce is <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the original companies to commercialize cloud computing, before the term even began to be widely used. Its online customer database and customer-management platform were launched in 1999, and there was nothing else quite like it at the time.</p>\n<p>That's certainly changed in the meantime. Not only is the customer relationship management (CRM) space now relatively crowded with competitors, but after 22 years of availability, the whole CRM thing has seemingly run most of its course. What's left?</p>\n<p>As it turns out, for Salesforce, quite a lot.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/70402b628ff39aa410477caa22af642c\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"525\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<p>The best days for basic CRM offerings might be in the rearview mirror, but what lies ahead are all sorts of revenue-bearing integrations with Salesforce's existing platform. For instance, earlier this week <b>FedEx</b> announced a partnership with Salesforce that will offer e-commerce and supply chain tools to business clients with such a need. In July, Salesforce completed its acquisition of intra-enterprise communication platform Slack, and by August had integrated its CRM tools with Slack's user interface. Salesforce-owned Tableau, which helps organizations collect and analyze all sorts of data, unveiled changes to its service earlier this month that will make it more secure, yet also easier to use at a greater scale.</p>\n<p>And this is just a recent sampling of how the company continues to improve its suite of services. Others have yet to be imagined. They're coming, though, spurred by the emerging new norm in workplaces: working from home (or at least working there more often).</p>\n<h2>Capitalizing on the new norm</h2>\n<p>This wasn't exactly the plan a year ago. Most organizations that expected employees to regularly report to an office before the pandemic similarly expected them to return to the office once the pandemic had passed. Working from home has worked out better than most organizations could have hoped, however, and given that the coronavirus has yet to fully pass (and might never really do so), at least some companies are rethinking their office-attendance policies altogether.</p>\n<p>Take researcher Omdia's recent Future of Work survey as an example. It indicates that more than two-thirds of all U.S. employers believe overall productivity has improved since workers were allowed to do their jobs outside of a centralized office. The same survey suggests more than half of all employees will be doing at least some work from home for the indefinite future.</p>\n<p>In this vein, PwC reports that 72% of U.S. executives currently plan to increase their investment in virtual (online) collaboration tools. Technology market researcher IDC forecasts that spending on work-based software -- including cloud-based collaboration and analytics tools -- will grow more than 21% per year through 2024.</p>\n<p>It all plays right into Salesforce's hands, setting the stage for the stock to move from its current price near $257 to a value in excess of $500.</p>\n<h2>Bottom line</h2>\n<p>There's still something of a wait before we see that move fully pan out, to be clear.</p>\n<p>Salesforce is in the right place at the right time, and it's poised for more double-digit percentage growth for the next several years. But there are limits. This company's clients are other companies, for example, which tend to move slowly when making purchases and entering new service contracts no matter how great the need.</p>\n<p>Compared to any other Dow component, though, Salesforce is still easily the company that's best positioned for strong, reliable growth for the next several years.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3348cbed1f7f70f45b84749230a42902\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"441\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Data source: Thomson Reuters. In recent years, the DJIA has been tweaked and modernized for the current tech-driven era. More than that, though, it includes a handful of companies that are anything but old school. It was added to the index in August 2020 (in the midst of the pandemic) along with Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) and Honeywell (NASDAQ:HON), replacing more-traditional stocks like ExxonMobil, Pfizer, and Raytheon Technologies.\nThat round of swapping was the latest in a bigger effort to bring the index further into the 21st century. Unsurprisingly, it has juiced the Dow's returns just a bit. It's up more than 90% for the past five years despite the early 2020 swoon linked to the onset of COVID-19, and higher by 200% for the past 10 years.\nSalesforce didn't contribute to most of that bullish effort, but don't be surprised if it's a key driver of similar gains in the Dow over the next five- and 10-year stretches.\nSalesforce's bright future\nIf you're not familiar with it, Salesforce is one of the original companies to commercialize cloud computing, before the term even began to be widely used. Its online customer database and customer-management platform were launched in 1999, and there was nothing else quite like it at the time.\nThat's certainly changed in the meantime. Based on the lowest Wall Street price target, the following three ultra-popular stocks could tumble between 81% and 98%.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c4445b731e2c9c6acb2e5395056b6719\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"524\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>Moderna: Implied downside of 81%</h2>\n<p>Biotech stock <b>Moderna</b> (NASDAQ:MRNA) has been <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the fastest-growing and most successful investments since the beginning of 2020. However, Leerink Partners analyst Mani Foroohar sees things differently. Foroohar and Leerink have stuck by their sell rating and $85 price target on the company as it's soared. If Moderna were to fall back to $85, it would shed 81% of its value.</p>\n<p>On one hand, Moderna has been practically unstoppable, thanks to the successful development of mRNA-1273, one of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines to receive emergency-use authorization in the United States. In late-stage clinical studies released last November, Moderna's two-dose regimen of mRNA-1273 led to a vaccine efficacy (VE) of 94.1%. Even though recent studies have shown that VE wanes over time, the initial VE offered by mRNA-1273 has made it one of the two most-popular inoculation options in developed markets.</p>\n<p>Also working in Moderna's favor is the possibility that COVID-19 vaccines could become a recurring/seasonal thing. Mutations and variations of COVID-19 make it increasingly likely that it'll become an endemic disease. Without the ability to rid COVID-19 from the U.S. and other countries, booster shots may be necessary to combat it. In other words, Moderna's one-hit wonder could become a regular revenue stream.</p>\n<p>On the other hand, mRNA-1273 is Moderna's only revenue-producing asset, and competition in the vaccine space is only destined to become more crowded. Even if Moderna's vaccine remains toward the top end in terms of efficacy, the sheer volume of doses that need to be administered globally will open the door to other successful drugmakers.</p>\n<p>While Leerink's price target is potentially too aggressive to the downside, Moderna does have a lot to prove with a $181 billion market cap and only one marketed drug.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://g.foolcdn.com/image/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fg.foolcdn.com%2Feditorial%2Fimages%2F642857%2Flordstown-endurance-steve-burns-ceo.jpg&amp;w=700&amp;op=resize\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"466\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Now-former CEO Steve Burns standing next to a prototype of the Endurance all-electric. pickup. Image source: Lordstown Motors.</span></p>\n<h2>Lordstown Motors: Implied downside of 84%</h2>\n<p>Over the next decade, electric vehicles (EVs) could be one of the fastest-growing industries in North America. But Wall Street isn't too keen on one EV manufacturer, in particular: <b>Lordstown Motors</b> (NASDAQ:RIDE).</p>\n<p>According to analyst Joseph Spak at RBC Capital, Lordstown is worthy of an underperform rating and a $1 price target. If this price target becomes a reality, Lordstown's shares will have fallen 84%.</p>\n<p>Whereas there was both a clear bull and bear argument to share about Moderna above, the same can't be said of Lordstown Motors. It's been nothing short of a disaster.</p>\n<p>In March, a number of allegations were levied against the company by short-side firm Hindenburg Research. Although a number of these allegations proved to be without merit, a committee formed by Lordstown's independent directors found that the company had exaggerated the number of pre-orders of its Endurance EV pickup. Both Lordstown's CEO Steve Burns and CFO Julio Rodriguez resigned in the wake of these findings.</p>\n<p>To make matters worse, Lordstown Motors may not have enough capital to survive the next year. It costs a pretty penny to build a new automaker from the ground up. Even though the company ended June with $366 million in cash, it reported a second-quarter loss of $108 million.</p>\n<p>The real issue, as my auto-focused colleague John Rosevear notes, is that the company's Endurance pickup isn't anywhere close to being on schedule. Lordstown will probably see Endurance deliveries to customers commence in the second quarter of 2022, which doesn't exactly align with the idea put forward by the company that production would begin in September.</p>\n<p>With few avenues to raise cash and lukewarm demand for Endurance, a $1 price target may even prove too generous.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15eab863c856018bec9ca4a17856fe6d\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"466\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>AMC Entertainment: Implied downside of 98%</h2>\n<p>And then there was meme stock kingpin <b>AMC Entertainment</b> (NYSE:AMC). AMC shouldn't be a surprise on this list, as the most bullish investment bank on Wall Street sees the company losing nearly 70% of its value, as of this past weekend. On the other end of the spectrum, Alan Gould at Loop Capital foresees AMC eventually heading back to $1 a share. That would be a decline of 98%, for those of you keeping score at home.</p>\n<p>The reason AMC has shot out of a cannon and pushed well beyond Wall Street's collective price targets is the unwavering support of retail investors who believe it'll undergo another short squeeze. This is a very short-term event whereby pessimists who are betting against a stock (i.e., short-sellers) run for the exit at the same time. Since short-sellers have to buy shares to cover their short positions, it can cause a rising stock price to briefly go parabolic.</p>\n<p>But as Gould and other analysts have noted with AMC, the numbers don't add up. While it's impossible to pinpoint when emotion will stop being the driving force behind AMC, the operating performance of a company and its balance sheet always dictate the long-term price performance of a company's stock. In this respect, the movie-theater industry has been in a nearly two-decade decline, with streaming services siphoning off moviegoers and AMC building up share in an industry where the proverbial pie is getting smaller.</p>\n<p>The far greater concern for AMC is the amount of leverage it took on to survive the pandemic. Although the company ended June with $2.023 billion in liquidity ($1.81 billion of which is cash), it's also sitting on nearly $5.5 billion in corporate debt, $420 million in deferred rent, and close to $4.9 billion in lease liabilities.</p>\n<p>By the end of 2023, the company expects to lay out $2.51 billion, at minimum, for lease liabilities and will likely have to repay its $420 million in back rent. That's $2.9 billion in upcoming payments over a 30-month period for a company that's still burning cash and has only $2 billion in liquidity.</p>\n<p>To boot, AMC's retail investors won't approve any additional share offerings, leaving the company with no avenues to further raise capital. The market is expected to see some 375 deals for the year, raising $125 billion, according to Renaissance, beating the $97 billion raised in 2000 during the dot-com boom. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>“After the long summer break, this week is a litmus test for upcoming tech, biotech, and consumer IPOs,” Smith wrote in a market commentary. The list includes a Swiss running-shoe company backed by tennis giant Roger Federer, a drive-through coffee kiosk operator and a mortgage insurer that was spun out of insurer Genworth Financial. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The biggest deal of the week is expected to come from Thoughtworks,a Chicago-based technology consultancy that will go public at a valuation of up to $6.1 billion.</p>\n<p>The company, which expects to change its name from Turing Holding Corp. to Thoughtworks with completion of the IPO, said a total of 36.84 million shares will be offered, split between the company and selling shareholders.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The deal is expected to price at between $18 and $20 a share, and the stock will trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “TWKS.” Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are the lead underwriters. The company recorded net income of $79.3 million on revenue of $803.4 million in 2020, after income of $28.4 million on revenue of $772.2 million in 2019.</p>\n<p>The Swiss athletic-footwear maker On Holding&nbsp;is expected to raise up to $622 million at a valuation of almost $6 billion. On has applied to list 31.1 million shares priced at $18 to $20 each on the New York Stock Exchange, under the ticker symbol “ONON.”</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Morgan Stanley are lead underwriters in a syndicate of nine banks on the On deal. Proceeds are to be used for general corporate purposes. The company has a line that it co-developed with Federer.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The company had net income of 3.8 million Swiss francs ($4.1 million) in the six months through June 30, after a loss of 33.1 million francs in the year-earlier period,&nbsp;according to its IPO documents.&nbsp;Sales came to 315.5 million francs, up from 170.9 million francs.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Also from Switzerland, sports betting site Sportrader Group AG&nbsp;plans to offer 19 million shares priced at $25 to $28 each, for a valuation of up to $31 billion. The company has applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “SRAD.” JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and UBS are lead underwriters in a syndicate of 13 banks working on the deal.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Proceeds are to be used for working capital and to spur growth. The company had a net profit of $29.9 million in the first six months of the year, on revenue of $321 million,&nbsp;according to its filing documents.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Dutch Bros Inc.,an operator of drive-through shops that serve hot and cold drinks mostly in western U.S. states, is planning to offer 21.1 million shares priced at $18 to $20 each in its IPO, valuing the company at up to $3.3 billion.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>BofA Securities, JPMorgan and Jefferies are lead underwriters in a syndicate of 13 banks working on the deal. The company has applied to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “BROS.”</p>\n<p>Proceeds are to be used to purchase additional Class A shares — the company is planning to have four classes of stock with differing voting rights. The company had a net loss of $13.6 million, or 32 cents a share, in the first six months of the year, narrower than the loss of $16.5 million, or 38 cents a share, posted in the year-earlier period. Revenue fell to $227.9 million from $327.4 million.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Rounding out the list are:</b></p>\n<p>•&nbsp;Definitive Healthcare Corp.,&nbsp;a Massachusetts-based provider of healthcare commercial intelligence, is planning to offer 15.56 million shares in its PO, which is expected to price between $21 and $24 a share. At that pricing, the company could be valued at up to $3.55 billion.</p>\n<p>•&nbsp;Enact Holdings Inc., a mortgage insurer owned by Genworth, is planning to offer 13.3 million shares priced at $19 to $20 each. The company would be valued at $3.3 billion at the top of that range. The company said all shares will be sold by Genworth and it will not receive any proceeds. It has applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker “ACT.” Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are lead underwriters in a team of nine banks working on the deal.</p>\n<p>•&nbsp;ForgeRock<a href=\"https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/FORG?mod=MW_story_quote&amp;mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\">,</a>&nbsp;a California-based identity security platform, is looking to raise up to $264 million with an offering of 11 million shares priced between $21 and $24 a share. That pricing would value the company a valuation of up to $1.91 billion.</p>\n<p>The stock is expected to list on the NYSE under the ticker symbol “FORG.” Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are the lead underwriters.
