The Nasdaq also hit all-time intraday and closing highs, and the Dow gained to set its first record high since May 7. Shares of Tesla (TSLA) fluctuated before ending slightly higher after the electric car-maker's second-quarter deliveries hit a new record but still missed analysts' estimates, based on Bloomberg consensus data.
\n
Investorsconsidered the U.S. Labor Department's June jobs report, the central economic data point that came out this week. The print showed a stronger-than-anticipated acceleration in hiring, with non-farm payrolls rising by 850,000 for a sixth straight monthly gain. The unemployment rate, however, unexpectedly ticked up slightly to 5.9%.
\n
\"This is the 'Goldilocks report' that the market was looking for today. You had a nice print here of 850,000 jobs being added, wage pressure remaining — I wouldn't call them necessarily contained — but surprising here on the downside versus consensus estimates. So this is telling us right now that economic growth is continuing to accelerate here, the jobs market is continuing to heal,\" Emily Roland, co-chief investment strategist at John Hancock Investment Management, told Yahoo Finance. \"We're making progress here in terms of what the Fed has set out to do, which is in order to get unemployment get down, they're going to let inflation run a little bit hot here. Not too hot, not too cold — this is just what the market wants.\"
\n
Heading into the report, equities have been buoyed by a slew of strong economic data earlier this week, especially on the labor market.Private payrolls rose by a better-than-expected 692,000 in June, according to ADP, andweekly initial jobless claims improved more than expectedto the lowest level since March 2020. Still, other reports underscored the still-prevalent labor supply challenges impacting companies across industries, with the scarcity capping what has otherwise been a robust economic rebound.
\n
\"It's really the labor market supply that's putting the brake on hiring right now,\" Luke Tilley, chief economist for Wilmington Trust, told Yahoo Finance. \"But we're pretty optimistic, the market is pretty optimistic, and we think that's a big part of what's driving these indexes higher.\"
\n
Friday's jobs report will also give markets a suggestion as to the timing of the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move. For now, the Fed has kept in place both of its key crisis-era policies, or quantitative easing and a near-zero benchmark interest rate. However, an especially strong jobs report and faster-than-expected print on wage growth could justify an earlier-than-currently-telegraphed shift by the central bank.
\n
“For the first time in years, I’m actually worried about a too hot number causing some kind of volatility or pullback in stocks. That’s because the Fed has signaled they are looking to taper QE,\" Tom Essaye, Sevens Report Research founder, told Yahoo Finance. \"And if we get a really, really strong jobs number and a hot wage number, then markets are going to start to say gee, are they going to taper QE maybe before November, or are they going to taper it more intensely than we thought and in a market that's frankly been very calm and a little bit complacent, that could cause volatility.\"
\n
Still, the Fed has suggested it would not react rashly to single reports, and has given itself leeway to adjust the timeline of its monetary policy pivots as more data comes in.
\n
\"I think everyone's counting on the Fed continuing really for the foreseeable future. So I don't see any big changes there coming before 2023,\" Octavio Marenzi, CEO and founder of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance.\"And even then the Fed has hedged its bets very significantly — they've basically said we might in 2023 raise interest rates twice, but then again we might not. So I think the smart money is betting things are going to keep on going, they're going to carry on with a very accommodative monetary policy.\"
\n
Even with the recent strength for stocks, market strategists say that uncertainty about the future of the Fed’s asset purchases and the upcoming earnings season could keep stocks from making major gains in the near term.
\n
“The market is still very much concerned about the Fed’s reaction function,” said Max Gokhman, head of asset allocation at Pacific Life Fund Advisors, adding that he thought there was still a lot of slack in the labor market.
\n
4:01 p.m. ET: Stocks close higher, S&P 500 posts longest winning streak since August 2020
\n
Here's where markets closed out on Friday:
\n
\n

S&P 500 (^GSPC): +32.51 (+0.75%) to 4,352.45

\n

Dow (^DJI): +154.4 (+0.45%) to 34,787.93

\n

Nasdaq (^IXIC): +116.95 (+0.81%) to 14,639.33

\n
","source":"lsy1584348713084","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Citibank analyst Jeff Chung raised the bank's price target on NIO to $72, from $58.30, while reiterating his previous buy rating on the shares.\nChung wrote that he expects NIO to report \"robust shipment volume\" for June, which he thinks will be followed by sequential quarter-over-quarter growth in the third and fourth quarters of 2021. He now sees NIO delivering 93,000 vehicles in 2021, up from his earlier estimate of 90,000, and has raised his forecasts for 2022 and 2024 while also increasing his target price-to-earnings multiple for NIO's shares.\nNIO typically releases its monthly delivery totals shortly after month-end, meaning we could see NIO's results for June as soon as Thursday morning. The company's guidance, which it reiterated earlier this month, calls for a delivery total of between 21,000 and 22,000 vehicles for the second quarter. Through the end of May, it had delivered 13,183 vehicles despite production disruptions caused by shortages of computer chips.\nWill NIO outperform its own guidance? Fool","summary":"Investors should apply a bit of mass psychology here, recognizing a couple of unusual nuances have set the stage for a surprising outcome.","content":"
It may be the biggest, best, and best-known component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI), but shares of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) have conspicuously trailed the blue chip index of late. The Dow's up to the tune of 13% for the past six months, while Apple is barely breaking even for the timeframe.
\n
Its big gains logged in 2020 of course only made Apple stock more vulnerable to the chip shortage as well as the \"big tech\" antitrust crackdown continuing to gel this year. Congress is considering six different pieces of legislation that could crimp Apple's grip on consumers, if not force an outright restructuring of the company. Investors are understandably hesitant.
\n
We're in a scenario, however, where it just might pay to play the role of contrarian. That's the fancy way of saying you should assume everything's about to reverse its present course, boosting Apple at the expense of the Dow as a whole.
\n
Stumbling blocks
\n
Don't misread the message. The brewing regulatory threat to Apple is real; CEO Tim Cook reportedly even called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stave off the impending legislation. No dice. Intellectually honest investors, of course, had to know this day of reckoning was coming sooner or later.
\n
The computer chip crunch is another headache that's kept buyers at bay. Would-be Apple investors are content to remain on the sidelines, waiting for more clarity.
\n

\n
\n
At least some of those sidelined would-be Apple buyers are stepping into anything and everything else instead though. The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) joined the Dow in reaching record highs earlier this month, and the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) isn't far behind. This strength has shocked traders anticipating the usual summer weakness behind the whole \"sell in May and go away\" thing. The momentum is still bullish. Not participating means you're leaving money on the table... even if Apple isn't contributing much to the marketwide rally.
\n
There are two big premises most investors just aren't fully seeing here, however. Together, they just might make you rethink this described dynamic.
\n
Understand this
\n
The first of these two noteworthy premises is the market's typical behavior during the summertime. The momentum is still bullish in defiance of the calendar to be sure. But, bullish strength during the early days of summer doesn't preclude weakness later in the summer that would bring the broad market back to its average year-to-date performance. Indeed, if anything this degree of bullishness thus far sets the stage for an even bigger pullback that puts the market's performance back on course, so to speak.
\n
And for perspective, in the average year the Dow is up 3.6% by late June. This year it's up an incredible 10.9% so far.
\n
The second idea is a bit more complicated.
\n
When investors see (or at least fear) a market correction is in the offing, as a group they don't necessarily dump stocks altogether. There's a subtle -- and sometimes not-so-subtle -- shift into defensive names like utilities or consumer staples. Makes sense. These industries are going to do reasonably well regardless of the environment.
\n
Over the course of the past several years, however, what constitutes a \"safe\" name capable of holding up against the headwind of a marketwide correction has evolved. Consumers may skip a trip to the mall or postpone a vacation. But, Apple's created such a degree of customer loyalty and fandom that it's unlikely current iPhone owners will take a pass on their next opportunity to upgrade their device.
\n
The evidence? Even when the pandemic was raging in September of last year, cellphone reselling platform SellCell found that four out of ten iPhone owners intended to upgrade when the iPhone 12 became available later in the year; BankMyCell suggested the number was closer to half of all iPhone owners. In October, RBC Capital Markets reported a little more than one-third of current iPhone owners were participants in Apple's annual upgrade plan, while another one-fourth said they intended to sign up for the continual upgrade agreement. In a similar and more recent vein, SellCell recently reported survey results indicating Apple's iPhone brand loyalty currently stands at a record-high 92%.
\n
Read between the lines. Apple is a surprisingly defensive play should things turn tough for the overall market.
\n
Keep it in perspective
\n
A marketwide correction wouldn't drive Apple shares upward every single day of any correction, of course. On any given trading day three out of four stocks move in the same direction as the market. Apple shares would most definitely be fighting a headwind.
\n
Think bigger-picture though, and think strategically. Should a little bit of market weakness turn into something more prolonged and investors clamor for companies they can count on in tough times, Apple's antitrust woes won't matter quite as much. Loyalty among iPhone owners will matter a little more. That's just enough edge to snap this stock out of its lull.
\n
And if the overall market continues to buck the calendar and continue marching higher? The Dow's up to the tune of 13% for the past six months, while Apple is barely breaking even for the timeframe.\nIts big gains logged in 2020 of course only made Apple stock more vulnerable to the chip shortage as well as the \"big tech\" antitrust crackdown continuing to gel this year. Congress is considering six different pieces of legislation that could crimp Apple's grip on consumers, if not force an outright restructuring of the company. Investors are understandably hesitant.\nWe're in a scenario, however, where it just might pay to play the role of contrarian. That's the fancy way of saying you should assume everything's about to reverse its present course, boosting Apple at the expense of the Dow as a whole.\nStumbling blocks\nDon't misread the message. The brewing regulatory threat to Apple is real; CEO Tim Cook reportedly even called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stave off the impending legislation. No dice. Intellectually honest investors, of course, had to know this day of reckoning was coming sooner or later.\nThe computer chip crunch is another headache that's kept buyers at bay. Would-be Apple investors are content to remain on the sidelines, waiting for more clarity.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nAt least some of those sidelined would-be Apple buyers are stepping into anything and everything else instead though. Not participating means you're leaving money on the table... even if Apple isn't contributing much to the marketwide rally.\nThere are two big premises most investors just aren't fully seeing here, however. Together, they just might make you rethink this described dynamic.\nUnderstand this\nThe first of these two noteworthy premises is the market's typical behavior during the summertime. The momentum is still bullish in defiance of the calendar to be sure. But, bullish strength during the early days of summer doesn't preclude weakness later in the summer that would bring the broad market back to its average year-to-date performance. Indeed, if anything this degree of bullishness thus far sets the stage for an even bigger pullback that puts the market's performance back on course, so to speak.\nAnd for perspective, in the average year the Dow is up 3.6% by late June. This year it's up an incredible 10.9% so far.\nThe second idea is a bit more complicated.\nWhen investors see (or at least fear) a market correction is in the offing, as a group they don't necessarily dump stocks altogether. There's a subtle -- and sometimes not-so-subtle -- shift into defensive names like utilities or consumer staples. Makes sense. These industries are going to do reasonably well regardless of the environment.\nOver the course of the past several years, however, what constitutes a \"safe\" name capable of holding up against the headwind of a marketwide correction has evolved. Consumers may skip a trip to the mall or postpone a vacation. But, Apple's created such a degree of customer loyalty and fandom that it's unlikely current iPhone owners will take a pass on their next opportunity to upgrade their device.\nThe evidence? Even when the pandemic was raging in September of last year, cellphone reselling platform SellCell found that four out of ten iPhone owners intended to upgrade when the iPhone 12 became available later in the year; BankMyCell suggested the number was closer to half of all iPhone owners. In October, RBC Capital Markets reported a little more than one-third of current iPhone owners were participants in Apple's annual upgrade plan, while another one-fourth said they intended to sign up for the continual upgrade agreement. In a similar and more recent vein, SellCell recently reported survey results indicating Apple's iPhone brand loyalty currently stands at a record-high 92%.\nRead between the lines. Apple is a surprisingly defensive play should things turn tough for the overall market.\nKeep it in perspective\nA marketwide correction wouldn't drive Apple shares upward every single day of any correction, of course. On any given trading day three out of four stocks move in the same direction as the market. Apple shares would most definitely be fighting a headwind.\nThink bigger-picture though, and think strategically. Should a little bit of market weakness turn into something more prolonged and investors clamor for companies they can count on in tough times, Apple's antitrust woes won't matter quite as much. Loyalty among iPhone owners will matter a little more. That's just enough edge to snap this stock out of its lull.\nAnd if the overall market continues to buck the calendar and continue marching higher? Well, Apple's future is still more than bright enough to make it a core long-term holding. The company's always found a way to push through challenges on par with the current chip shortage and antitrust campaigns. This recent weakness is a gift from that perspective as well.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":139,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121460161,"gmtCreate":1624489666953,"gmtModify":1703837990342,"author":{"id":"3583203177074032","authorId":"3583203177074032","name":"Celest0319","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/06eba92961f728ed27175d3d47fa22aa","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583203177074032","authorIdStr":"3583203177074032"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/121460161","repostId":"2145950390","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2145950390","pubTimestamp":1624454400,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2145950390?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-23 21:20","market":"us","language":"en","title":"These 3 Warren Buffett Stocks Will Help You Beat the Next Stock Market Crash","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2145950390","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"It's important to own shares of high-quality businesses.","content":"
It's hard to overemphasize the positive impact that legendary investor Warren Buffett has had on the investing world. However, the Oracle of Omaha hasn't pulled any punches in making the wireless telecom giant a major part of his holdings, as the stake in Verizon amounts to $9.2 billion and ranks sixth among Berkshire's list of stocks.
\n
Verizon checks many of the boxes that Buffett looks for in a great investment. As the leading provider of wireless telecom services, Verizon has played a key role in furthering technological advances and the mobile revolution. Although investing in upgraded 5G network technology will be costly, Verizon has demonstrated its ability to maintain some pricing power despite strong competition from other providers.
\n
The steady stream of monthly subscription charges gives Verizon impressive levels of cash flow that the company has returned to shareholders through dividends. Verizon's stock yields 4.5% currently, yet with an earnings multiple in the low teens, the telecom giant is one of the few areas in which traditional value metrics suggest a bargain opportunity. With a combination of growth prospects and stable and consistent dividend income, Verizon is a standard pick for Buffett's methodology.
\n
General Motors
\n
General Motors (NYSE:GM) has been in the Berkshire portfolio a lot longer, with purchases dating back to early 2012. At that time, GM was just emerging from its financial crisis-induced bankruptcy filing, having wiped out previous stock investors. Many investors were uncertain whether the Big 3 automaker would ever return to its former glory.
\n
Fast forward nearly a decade, and General Motors looks a lot different. The automaker has embraced the electric vehicle (EV) movement, recently boosting its commitment toward EV investment from $20 billion to $35 billion over the next four years. The company's Cruise subsidiary has made dramatic advances in autonomous driving, becoming the first company to offer ride-hailing services without a safety driver to California riders. Meanwhile, GM itself expects to introduce at least 30 new EV models by 2025, including electric versions of some iconic brand models. A big part of its success hinges on its Ultium in-house battery platform, but GM isn't being stingy about putting financial resources behind its efforts.
\n
General Motors doesn't pay a dividend, but an earnings multiple below 10 shows that most investors are discounting the automaker's growth potential. Buffett has often made a killing by betting against the crowd in situations like this, and he clearly sees greater prospects for GM than do most investors. Despite trimming its GM position recently, Berkshire still counts the automaker among its top 10 holdings.
\n
Kroger
\n
Finally, Berkshire recently boosted its position in grocery giant Kroger (NYSE:KR). Buffett now owns about $1.8 billion worth of Kroger stock, giving it a nearly 7% stake in the company.
\n
Kroger has a reliable business in consumer staples that has prospered over the past year and a half. Huge demand for necessities helped bolster Kroger's stock early on in the COVID-19 pandemic, and the grocery chain has managed to build on that upward momentum to keep moving forward in 2021. Even as the company faces difficult comparisons over the rest of the year, Kroger is managing to surpass expectations in holding onto more of its gains.
\n
With an earnings multiple above 20 and a dividend yield of less than 2%, Kroger might not seem like the most attractive of Warren Buffett stocks. However, its ability to hold up well even under difficult business conditions makes it a valuable holding, and dividend growth over the long run has helped reward longtime shareholders.
\n
Be ready for the crash
\n
The stock market has done extremely well lately, but smart investors are always ready for what could come next. The blue-chip index logged a seventh straight day of gains in its longest winning streak since August 2020.
The blue-chip index logged a seventh straight day of gains in its longest winning streak since August 2020. The Nasdaq also hit all-time intraday and closing highs, and the Dow gained to set its first record high since May 7. Shares of Tesla (TSLA) fluctuated before ending slightly higher after the electric car-maker's second-quarter deliveries hit a new record but still missed analysts' estimates, based on Bloomberg consensus data.\nInvestorsconsidered the U.S. Labor Department's June jobs report, the central economic data point that came out this week. The print showed a stronger-than-anticipated acceleration in hiring, with non-farm payrolls rising by 850,000 for a sixth straight monthly gain. The unemployment rate, however, unexpectedly ticked up slightly to 5.9%.\n\"This is the 'Goldilocks report' that the market was looking for today. Not too hot, not too cold — this is just what the market wants.\"\nHeading into the report, equities have been buoyed by a slew of strong economic data earlier this week, especially on the labor market.Private payrolls rose by a better-than-expected 692,000 in June, according to ADP, andweekly initial jobless claims improved more than expectedto the lowest level since March 2020. Still, other reports underscored the still-prevalent labor supply challenges impacting companies across industries, with the scarcity capping what has otherwise been a robust economic rebound.\n\"It's really the labor market supply that's putting the brake on hiring right now,\" Luke Tilley, chief economist for Wilmington Trust, told Yahoo Finance. \"But we're pretty optimistic, the market is pretty optimistic, and we think that's a big part of what's driving these indexes higher.\"\nFriday's jobs report will also give markets a suggestion as to the timing of the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move. For now, the Fed has kept in place both of its key crisis-era policies, or quantitative easing and a near-zero benchmark interest rate. However, an especially strong jobs report and faster-than-expected print on wage growth could justify an earlier-than-currently-telegraphed shift by the central bank.\n“For the first time in years, I’m actually worried about a too hot number causing some kind of volatility or pullback in stocks. That’s because the Fed has signaled they are looking to taper QE,\" Tom Essaye, Sevens Report Research founder, told Yahoo Finance. \"And if we get a really, really strong jobs number and a hot wage number, then markets are going to start to say gee, are they going to taper QE maybe before November, or are they going to taper it more intensely than we thought and in a market that's frankly been very calm and a little bit complacent, that could cause volatility.\"\nStill, the Fed has suggested it would not react rashly to single reports, and has given itself leeway to adjust the timeline of its monetary policy pivots as more data comes in.\n\"I think everyone's counting on the Fed continuing really for the foreseeable future. So I think the smart money is betting things are going to keep on going, they're going to carry on with a very accommodative monetary policy.\"\nEven with the recent strength for stocks, market strategists say that uncertainty about the future of the Fed’s asset purchases and the upcoming earnings season could keep stocks from making major gains in the near term.\n“The market is still very much concerned about the Fed’s reaction function,” said Max Gokhman, head of asset allocation at Pacific Life Fund Advisors, adding that he thought there was still a lot of slack in the labor market.\n4:01 p.m. ET: Stocks close higher, S&P 500 posts longest winning streak since August 2020\nHere's where markets closed out on Friday:\n\nS&P 500 (^GSPC): +32.51 (+0.75%) to 4,352.45\nDow Crash","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2145950390","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"It's important to own shares of high-quality businesses.","content":"
It's hard to overemphasize the positive impact that legendary investor Warren Buffett has had on the investing world. After more than half a century at Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B), Buffett continues to contribute to the collective knowledge base through his witty, down-to-earth comments on the state of the stock market and his preferred investing strategy.
\n
Buffett would be the first to tell you that a stock market crash is inevitable, and when a long bull-market run ends, investors finally get a chance to see which stocks have strong businesses underpinning their long-term success. Below, you'll find three Warren Buffett holdings that should help investors weather the coming stock market storm. They won't necessarily avoid losses entirely in a crash, but they have the long-term staying power to recover for their shareholders.
\n

\n
\n
Verizon Communications
\n
Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ), one of Buffett's more recent stock picks, first became part of the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio in the fourth quarter of 2020.
After more than half a century at Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B), Buffett continues to contribute to the collective knowledge base through his witty, down-to-earth comments on the state of the stock market and his preferred investing strategy.\nBuffett would be the first to tell you that a stock market crash is inevitable, and when a long bull-market run ends, investors finally get a chance to see which stocks have strong businesses underpinning their long-term success. Below, you'll find three Warren Buffett holdings that should help investors weather the coming stock market storm. They won't necessarily avoid losses entirely in a crash, but they have the long-term staying power to recover for their shareholders.\n\nImage source: The Motley Fool.\nVerizon Communications\nVerizon Communications (NYSE:VZ), one of Buffett's more recent stock picks, first became part of the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio in the fourth quarter of 2020. However, the Oracle of Omaha hasn't pulled any punches in making the wireless telecom giant a major part of his holdings, as the stake in Verizon amounts to $9.2 billion and ranks sixth among Berkshire's list of stocks.\nVerizon checks many of the boxes that Buffett looks for in a great investment. As the leading provider of wireless telecom services, Verizon has played a key role in furthering technological advances and the mobile revolution. Although investing in upgraded 5G network technology will be costly, Verizon has demonstrated its ability to maintain some pricing power despite strong competition from other providers.\nThe steady stream of monthly subscription charges gives Verizon impressive levels of cash flow that the company has returned to shareholders through dividends. Verizon's stock yields 4.5% currently, yet with an earnings multiple in the low teens, the telecom giant is one of the few areas in which traditional value metrics suggest a bargain opportunity. With a combination of growth prospects and stable and consistent dividend income, Verizon is a standard pick for Buffett's methodology.\nGeneral Motors\nGeneral Motors (NYSE:GM) has been in the Berkshire portfolio a lot longer, with purchases dating back to early 2012. At that time, GM was just emerging from its financial crisis-induced bankruptcy filing, having wiped out previous stock investors. Many investors were uncertain whether the Big 3 automaker would ever return to its former glory.\nFast forward nearly a decade, and General Motors looks a lot different. A big part of its success hinges on its Ultium in-house battery platform, but GM isn't being stingy about putting financial resources behind its efforts.\nGeneral Motors doesn't pay a dividend, but an earnings multiple below 10 shows that most investors are discounting the automaker's growth potential. Buffett has often made a killing by betting against the crowd in situations like this, and he clearly sees greater prospects for GM than do most investors. Despite trimming its GM position recently, Berkshire still counts the automaker among its top 10 holdings.\nKroger\nFinally, Berkshire recently boosted its position in grocery giant Kroger (NYSE:KR). Buffett now owns about $1.8 billion worth of Kroger stock, giving it a nearly 7% stake in the company.\nKroger has a reliable business in consumer staples that has prospered over the past year and a half. Huge demand for necessities helped bolster Kroger's stock early on in the COVID-19 pandemic, and the grocery chain has managed to build on that upward momentum to keep moving forward in 2021. Even as the company faces difficult comparisons over the rest of the year, Kroger is managing to surpass expectations in holding onto more of its gains.\nWith an earnings multiple above 20 and a dividend yield of less than 2%, Kroger might not seem like the most attractive of Warren Buffett stocks. However, its ability to hold up well even under difficult business conditions makes it a valuable holding, and dividend growth over the long run has helped reward longtime shareholders.\nBe ready for the crash\nThe stock market has done extremely well lately, but smart investors are always ready for what could come next. With their attractive traits, Kroger, General Motors, and Verizon all have a lot going for them, and they're in a better position than many other stocks to weather the next stock market crash and keep growing over the long run.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":135,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":152316955,"gmtCreate":1625270099877,"gmtModify":1703739596216,"author":{"id":"3583203177074032","authorId":"3583203177074032","name":"Celest0319","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/06eba92961f728ed27175d3d47fa22aa","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583203177074032","idStr":"3583203177074032"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO)$?","listText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO)$?","text":"$NIO Inc.(NIO)$?","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1e92d199132599bcc1c010815012e4e9","width":"1242","height":"1767"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/152316955","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":282,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":151215233,"gmtCreate":1625094631422,"gmtModify":1703735855084,"author":{"id":"3583203177074032","authorId":"3583203177074032","name":"Celest0319","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/06eba92961f728ed27175d3d47fa22aa","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583203177074032","idStr":"3583203177074032"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/151215233","repostId":"1121473384","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1121473384","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1625067394,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1121473384?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-30 23:36","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why NIO Stock Is Moving Higher Today","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1121473384","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"A bullish note from Wall Street is raising expectations ahead of NIO's June sales report.Shares of Chinese electric-vehicle maker NIOwere moving higher in early trading on Wednesday, after a Wall Street analyst raised his bank's price target for the shares in a bullish note.As of 11:35 a.m. EDT, NIO's American depositary shares were up about 5.9% from Tuesday's closing price. In a note released on Tuesday afternoon.

Not participating means you're leaving money on the table... even if Apple isn't contributing much to the marketwide rally.\nThere are two big premises most investors just aren't fully seeing here, however. There's a subtle -- and sometimes not-so-subtle -- shift into defensive names like utilities or consumer staples. Makes sense. These industries are going to do reasonably well regardless of the environment.\nOver the course of the past several years, however, what constitutes a \"safe\" name capable of holding up against the headwind of a marketwide correction has evolved. it.\n
\n
Super fans of the latest and greatest high-endTesla, Inc.(NASDAQ:TSLA) model received some disappointing news a week ago when CEO Elon Musk abruptly canceled the release of its highly anticipated Model S Plaid Plus with a tweet on June 6.
\n
Source: nrqemi / Shutterstock.com
\n
Musk wrote there was… “No need, as Plaid is just so good.”
\n
The Model S Plaid Plus was supposed to be the fastest, most powerful and priciest version of the company’s Model S. Priced at $149,990, it was to feature a range of 520 miles, thanks to its innovative 4680 battery cells, 1,100 horsepower and the ability to speed from 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds.
\n
Instead, the company has begun delivering a new Model S Plaid that has only a 390-mile range and 1,020 horsepower, though it still sprints to from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just two seconds.
\n
As a way to “sugar coat” its flip flop, Tesla said the Model S Plaid is just as fast as the Model S Plaid Plus and $20,000 cheaper. Humm.
\n
This “bait and switch” has some Tesla fans worried, since they had deposits on the Model S Plaid Plus and wanted the innovative 4680 battery cells that Tesla had been touting as the key to longer range and more power. Essentially, the 4680 battery cells were the latest great Tesla development, since they were the first batteries to also be a structural component that supposedly allowed Tesla to lower the weight of its vehicles.
\n
Both the company’s Austin and Berlin manufacturing plants now under construction are supposed to also be making the 4680 batteries for new Tesla vehicles. If there is a problem with the engineering associated with utilizing the 4680 batteries or making them a structural component, then Tesla has grossly miscalculated, which is now worrying investors.
\n
Clearly something happened to delay the 4680 batteries that were supposed to provide Tesla with a competitive and engineering edge. For Tesla’s sake, I hope they figure out the problems associated with their much hyped 4680 battery cells, otherwise concerns about its two new manufacturing plants will emerge, as well as the stock losing more of its “mojo.”
\n
As someone who owns more than a few high-performance vehicles, I can tell you that the engineering geeks I know donotwant to get a new Model S Plaid instead of a Model S Plaid Plus and will likely ask for their deposits back.
\n
What Tesla did is like Ferrari or Porsche telling its customers that one of their much-hyped new performance models is now not being sold because the base model was just as good! Car fanatics, like myself, like the latest and greatest engineering tidbits, so we would rather cancel our orders versus settle for a base model.
\n
The good news for Tesla is that its China sales in May resurged to 21,936, up sharply from 11,671 in April. The company’s sales tend to spike at the end of each quarter. For example, Tesla sold 35,478 vehicles in China in March, which was the strongest month ever in China.
\n
This is raising expectations for very strong China sales in June, especially now that the Model Y is being manufactured in Shanghai. Interestingly, since most Chinese Teslas are now made with iron phosphate batteries, these vehicles have lower range than its lithium cobalt vehicles, but its iron phosphate vehicles are cheaper and now increasingly being exported to Europe.
\n
However, I’m convinced another electric vehicle (EV) company will eventually displace Tesla as the biggest manufacturer of EVs in China.
\n
Taking Advantage of the EV Revolution’s Profit Potential
\n
I’m talking about Nio, Inc.(NYSE:NIO). The reality is that this company is on the verge of dominating the EV market in China and Hong Kong. It’s why I put NIO on myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio back in February.
\n
The company boasts that it is the “next-generation car company,” as it designs and manufactures electric vehicles that utilize the latest technologies in connectivity, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI). NIO currently offers an electric seven-seater SUV (ES8) and a five-seater electric SUV (ES6) and recently introduced an attractive electric sedan (ET7). Its vehicles utilize NOMI, an in-vehicle artificial intelligence assistant.
\n
The company is also partnering with cutting-edge chip companies likeNVIDIA Corporation(NASDAQ:NVDA), another one of myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio stocks. NIO plans to use the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-a-chip for its electric vehicles that will provide autonomous driving capabilities. The NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-powered supercomputer, which is being called Adam, will be launched in the ET7 sedan in China in 2022. Announcements like this are very positive, so NIO has been stealing some of Tesla’s thunder lately.
\n
Now, it’s important to note that NIO was bailed out by the Chinese government. Last year, the Chinese government injected $1 billion and now has a 24% ownership in the company. The reality is that China wants to dominate at least five major industries by 2025, and NIO is now its ticket to dominate EV manufacturing.
\n
With the backing of the Chinese government, some Wall Street firms are eager to help NIO by issuing new debt or equity. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if NIO surpasses Tesla, which is currently number-two in China, for market share in the upcoming years.
\n
That means, if you missed Tesla’s parabolic run like I did, NIO is essentially giving us a “second chance” to make money in a potentially explosive electric vehicle company.
\n
Shares of NIO climbed nearly 13% since the company’s June 4 announcement of its May delivery report and positive analyst comments, while Tesla shares rose almost 3%. First, NIO revealed that the global chip shortage is starting to take a toll on its business. NIO only delivered 6,711 vehicles in May, or a 5.5% decline from April’s deliveries. Company management noted that deliveries were “adversely impacted for several days due to the volatility of semiconductor supply and certain logistical adjustments.”
\n
Interestingly, despite the month-to-month dip, NIO’s deliveries were still up 95.3% year-over-year. Strong demand in China even inspired a Citigroup analyst to upgrade NIO to a buy rating, as he expects demand to accelerate in the coming months.
\n
In other words, NIO represents thecrème de la crèmeof EV stocks right now.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Why I Believe NIO Will Beat Out Tesla
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhy I Believe NIO Will Beat Out Tesla\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-23 15:33 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The fact that Tesla scrapped its Model S Plaid Plus release is just part of it.\n\nSuper fans of the latest and greatest high-endTesla, Inc.(NASDAQ:TSLA) model received some disappointing news a week ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"NIO":"蔚来","TSLA":"特斯拉"},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2021/06/why-i-believe-nio-will-beat-out-tesla/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1145825451","content_text":"The fact that Tesla scrapped its Model S Plaid Plus release is just part of it.\n\nSuper fans of the latest and greatest high-endTesla, Inc.(NASDAQ:TSLA) model received some disappointing news a week ago when CEO Elon Musk abruptly canceled the release of its highly anticipated Model S Plaid Plus with a tweet on June 6.\nSource: nrqemi / Shutterstock.com\nMusk wrote there was… “No need, as Plaid is just so good.”\nThe Model S Plaid Plus was supposed to be the fastest, most powerful and priciest version of the company’s Model S.
