Consumer Discretionary (i.e. Retail, Travel & Leisure), Semis, Banks and Energy are strong buys at current levels. For instance,\n large-cap Energy is now trading at a ~10% FCF yield and a >8% FCF/EV yield at $70 Brent in 2022, with leverage that is <1x. The sector has increasing potential for a sharp short squeeze and move higher, given its extreme disconnect from oil fundamentals (i.e. widest in 30+ years, Figure 10). In addition, our Semiconductor research argues that we are only 30-40% of the way into the current semiconductor upcycle and expect strong Y/Y growth into next year with positive EPS revisions for the next 3-4 quarters. Supply will likely remain tight into 2022, while demand remains strong (20-40% above companies’ ability to supply), thus this supply demand imbalance will persist through 2021. Although customers are responding to tight supply with higher than needed orders, ongoing supply tightness is limiting fulfillment. In fact, JPM expects channel and customer inventories to decline Q/Q again in the just completed June quarter.\n
\n
Looking at the fundamentals, JPM predicts that S&P 500 gains should also be supported by strong earnings growth and capital return until 2023,and is why JPM is adjusting its above consensus S&P 500 EPS by another $5 for 2022 to $230 (consensus $214) and 2023 to $250 (consensus $233).
\n
\n This revision is largely due to global reopening which is delayed and bound to release further pent-up demand, inventory replenishment, rising profitability for Energy companies, and ongoing policy actions (childcare, infrastructure, etc). We expect cumulative revenue growth of ~30% by 2023 relative to pre-COVID (FY 2019), ~150bp net income margin expansion to a record high at over 13%, and gross buybacks nearing an annual pace of ~$1t during this period.\n
\n
While all sectors are expected to contribute to earnings growth, JPM expects reflation sensitive sectors (Commodities, Financials, Industrials) and Consumer to do the heaviest lifting in the coming quarters in terms of beats and revisions.
\n
Putting it all together, Lakos-Bujas says that \"considering this outlook for earnings and shareholder return, we are raising our Price Target to 4,600 for year-end 2021.\"
\n
But while any first year strategist can goalseek a fundamentally bullish narrative and chart it, as JPM has done below...
\n
... there is a very specific reason behind JPM's bullish reversal:the coming surge in buybacks which will result in a boom in shareholder returns,or as Dubravko notes, \"corporates have already increased gross buybacks from pandemic era low of $525b (trailing twelve months as of 1Q21) to an annualized run rate of ~$775b YTD and should surpass previous record of ~$850b (as of 1Q19).\"
\n
In practical terms, JPM expects a sharp drop in the S&P's share count in the next 24 months as the buyback-facilitated slow-motion LBO continues.
\n
Some more details below on the one biggest catalyst behind JPM's SPX price target hike:
\n
\n Expecting a boom in shareholder return led by buybacks.Buybacks are reemerging as a key theme with net buyback activity significantly improving this year after bottoming in 2Q20. Corporate buyback announcements, typically a leading indicator of buyback execution activity and corporate confidence, have already well-exceeded 2020 levels ($431B YTD vs. $307B 2020, see Figure 25). In fact,\n the rebound in announcement activity is similar to the surge post-TCJA (see Figure 23) which is tracking towards and it is likely to easily surpass ~$650B by year-end and likely to see rolling 12-month announcements surpass prior record level of ~$1T.Historically, buyback announcements have been concentrated within Technology and Financials. However, YTD we are seeing strong announcement activity from Communications as well (driven by GOOGL ~$50B in Apr). He suggested the Fed was reacting cautiously in part because it relies on economic models that are struggling to incorporate massive amounts of fiscal and monetary policy stimulus that are feeding into price movements.\n“I think this is something that needs to be watched very carefully and I do think the markets are underestimating this risk,” he said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":252,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":187482728,"gmtCreate":1623762021164,"gmtModify":1703818485524,"author":{"id":"3584433612880120","authorId":"3584433612880120","name":"JHHEE","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3584433612880120","idStr":"3584433612880120"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/187482728","repostId":"1129954811","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1129954811","pubTimestamp":1623757841,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1129954811?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-15 19:50","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Royal Caribbean is issuing $650 million of five-year junk bonds","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1129954811","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"Royal Caribbean Group RCL, -2.38% said Tuesday it has commenced a private offering of $650 million o","content":"
Royal Caribbean Group RCL, -2.38% said Tuesday it has commenced a private offering of $650 million of five-year, high-yield bonds.
\n
Proceeds of the deal will be used to fund the redemption of about $619.8 million of 7.25% notes that mature in 2025 that were issued by Silversea Cruise Finance Ltd., the cruise operator said in a statement. The yield on the30-year Treasury bonddipped slightly to 2.093%. Yields move inversely to prices.\n\nThe Commerce Department is set to release May’s core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists polled by Dow Jones expected prices rose 3.4% in May from a year earlier. Economists also estimate prices increased by 0.6% from April to May.\nThe PCE index reflects the changes in the prices of goods and services. It is also generally considered a wider-ranging measure for inflation as it captures changes in consumer behavior and has a broader scope than the Labor Department’s consumer price index.\nThe University of Michigan is due to release its June consumer sentiment and inflation expectations data at 10 a.m. ET.\nMeanwhile, President Joe Bidenannounced Thursday that the White House had struck an infrastructure dealwith a bipartisan group of senators. The lawmakers have worked for weeks to craft a roughly $1 trillion package that could get through Congress with support from both parties. The framework will include $579 billion in new spending on transportation like roads, bridges and rail, electric vehicle infrastructure and electric transit, among other things.\nStephen Isaacs, investment committee chairman at Alvine Capital, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe” that he was currently more focused on central bank policy as a market driver, particularly as Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s term comes to an end in January.\nIsaacs said he was “pretty confident” that the “least controversial” and consensus choice would be to re-nominate Powell. He explained that presidents tend to signal their nomination in August or September.\nAhead of this, Isaacs believed central bank policy would remain “quite muted,” but once there was an indication that Powell would be re-nominated, he said the “fireworks will come.”\nThere are no auctions scheduled to be held on Friday.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":194,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":187435101,"gmtCreate":1623761532303,"gmtModify":1703818456074,"author":{"id":"3584433612880120","authorId":"3584433612880120","name":"JHHEE","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3584433612880120","idStr":"3584433612880120"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Miser] ","listText":"[Miser] ","text":"[Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/187435101","repostId":"1101819642","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1101819642","pubTimestamp":1623760836,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1101819642?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-15 20:40","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Producer prices climb 6.6% in May on annual basis, largest 12-month increase on record","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1101819642","media":"cnbc","summary":"Producer prices rose at their fastest annual clip in nearly 11 years in May as inflation continued t","content":"
\n
Producer prices rose at their fastest annual clip in nearly 11 years in May as inflation continued to build in the U.S. economy, the Labor Department reported Tuesday.\nThe 6.6% surge was the biggest ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; In the pandemic economy, goods have run well ahead of services as economic lockdowns constrained consumer demand for services-related purchases.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":395,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":187488387,"gmtCreate":1623761964949,"gmtModify":1703818481327,"author":{"id":"3584433612880120","authorId":"3584433612880120","name":"JHHEE","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3584433612880120","idStr":"3584433612880120"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/187488387","repostId":"1127660571","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":485,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
