(LLY 0.47%) is having a moment right now. Over the last two years the company has made a splash in the weight loss space thanks to its one-two punch of blockbuster diabetes and obesity care medications, Mounjaro and Zepbound.

The excitement surrounding the weight loss market has fueled a stock-buying frenzy, propelling Lilly to a market capitalization of roughly $720 billion -- making it the most valuable pharmaceutical company in the world.

At first glance, you might think you've missed out and the train has already left the station. However, a recent announcement from the company suggests that notion is far from reality.

Below, I'm going to break down a major update Lilly shared with investors earlier this month, and make the case for why now could still be an incredibly lucrative time to scoop up shares.

<app :collapse_on_load=\"false\" :instrument_id=\"204336\" :show_benchmark_compare=\"false\" amount_change=\"3.70\" average_volume=\"3,682,423\" company_name=\"Eli Lilly\" current_price=\"782.70\" daily_high=\"784.00\" daily_low=\"777.86\" default_period=\"FiveYear\" dividend_yield=\"0.67%\" exchange=\"NYSE\" fifty_two_week_high=\"972.53\" fifty_two_week_low=\"567.02\" gross_margin=\"80.91\" logo=\"https://g.foolcdn.com/art/companylogos/mark/LLY.png\" market_cap=\"$740B\" pe_ratio=\"85.22\" percent_change=\"0.47\" symbol=\"LLY\" volume=\"228,422\"></app>

What did Eli Lilly just announce?

On Dec. 9, Lilly's board of directors approved a $15 billion stock buyback program. CFO Lucas Montarce said of the share buyback:

As Lilly has entered into a period of rapid growth, our capital allocation priorities remain the same. We will continue to focus on supporting new launches, expanding our manufacturing capacity, and advancing our pipeline through research and development and business development. However, given the strong growth profile of the company, we're also increasing the amount of capital we plan to return to shareholders. However, a recent announcement from the company suggests that notion is far from reality.Below, I'm going to break down a major update Lilly shared with investors earlier this month, and make the case for why now could still be an incredibly lucrative time to scoop up shares. What did Eli Lilly just announce? On Dec. 9, Lilly's board of directors approved a $15 billion stock buyback program. CFO Lucas Montarce said of the share buyback:As Lilly has entered into a period of rapid growth, our capital allocation priorities remain the same. We will continue to focus on supporting new launches, expanding our manufacturing capacity, and advancing our pipeline through research and development and business development. However, given the strong growth profile of the company, we're also increasing the amount of capital we plan to return to shareholders. We expect to execute this program over the next three years.Below, I'm going to expand on Montarce's comments and explain why I think this buyback is so pivotal for investors.Image source: Getty Images. Why might Lilly be buying back shares? While there are many reasons a company may decide to repurchase shares, one of the principal motives can be that management feels that the stock is undervalued. To me, Montarce's quote implies that management sees a lot of upside for Lilly, given the company's expansive pipeline and growth opportunities.Let's take a look at some of Lilly's biggest opportunities, and assess how these could impact the company in both the short term and the long term.Weight lossAs I alluded to above, Lilly's primary tailwinds in the weight loss market come from its glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists Mounjaro and Zepbound. And while each of these medications has generated billions of dollars in sales over the last couple of years, there are several reasons to believe Lilly has yet to scratch the surface in diabetes care and chronic weight management.A couple of months ago, Lilly made some changes to Zepbound's pricing to make it more affordable and accessible to patients who had been opting for GLP-1 alternatives in the form of compounded medications, which are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Earlier this month, Lilly took this effort a step further by partnering with Ro, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) telemedicine platform that will also now serve as a distributor for Zepbound.Another factor, which I think is being overlooked, is the potential for GLP-1 treatments to become more widely used outside of weight loss. According to a report from J.P. Morgan, GLP-1 medications may have the potential to treat other conditions such as sleep apnea, arthritis, chronic kidney disease, Alzheimer's, and some forms of addiction, and to lower cardiovascular risk.Given the upside in the GLP-1 market alone, it's not surprising that Lilly is investing billions in manufacturing in an effort to scale up production as it seeks to gain further momentum in the space.Alzheimer's diseaseBack in July, the FDA granted approval for Lilly's Alzheimer's disease drug, Kisunla (donanemab). I see this as a subtle tailwind for Lilly, because the Alzheimer's disease market is incredibly fragmented.Since there are a number of medications used to treat different symptoms of Alzheimer's, the competitive landscape remains somewhat sparse. According to data compiled by Market.us, the global Alzheimer's therapeutics market will be worth nearly $31 billion by early next decade.EczemaAnother big win for Lilly this year came when the FDA approved its eczema drug, Ebglyss. The eczema market is more crowded than Alzheimer's disease and weight loss. But what makes Ebglyss a potentially groundbreaking treatment is that it's an injection, whereas most mainstream eczema treatments come in the form of an ointment or topical gel. While Ebglyss may not carry the same potential as some of Lilly's other innovations, I'm encouraged by the company's foray into yet another pocket of the healthcare realm and its commitment to deepening its platform. The bottom lineWith so many moving pieces involved in Lilly's growth trajectory, I think a good way to value it would be to look at the company's PEG ratio. This is basically a more advanced version of the price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio. To derive a PEG ratio, you would take the P/E multiple and then divide that figure by the company's estimated earnings per share (EPS) growth rate over a specified period (say, five years). At its core, the PEG ratio helps compare valuation and expected growth.Generally speaking, a PEG ratio under 1 implies that the stock may be undervalued. Right now, Lilly's PEG ratio is 0.74. Does this inherently mean that Lilly stock is a bargain? Not necessarily.I see valuing Lilly as a pretty complicated exercise. The company clearly has a lot of runway just in the GLP-1 market alone. And because its presence in the Alzheimer's and eczema markets is so new, it's hard to know with any real accuracy how big an impact Kisunla and Ebglyss will have. But with the new buyback program and management's comments, I'm cautiously optimistic about Lilly's future, and feel that its valuation is reasonable at the moment. For these reasons, I see Lilly as a no-brainer opportunity to buy and hold if you have a long-term time horizon.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":0,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":381356871487648,"gmtCreate":1734136025047,"gmtModify":1734136027837,"author":{"id":"3584484322728004","authorId":"3584484322728004","name":"Eason24","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4fa5126bed2ccc2d8ebf78f01290194b","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584484322728004","authorIdStr":"3584484322728004"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$LLY 20241227 775.0 PUT$ ","listText":"$LLY 20241227 775.0 PUT$ ","text":"$LLY 20241227 775.0 PUT$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/7cb113f21e01e23c4c9c65b1cf195fa1","width":"882","height":"1668"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/381356871487648","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":24,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":381079848198368,"gmtCreate":1734068474908,"gmtModify":1734068478925,"author":{"id":"3584484322728004","authorId":"3584484322728004","name":"Eason24","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4fa5126bed2ccc2d8ebf78f01290194b","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584484322728004","authorIdStr":"3584484322728004"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Would you take the dip?","listText":"Would you take the dip?","text":"Would you take the dip?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/381079848198368","repostId":"1175252054","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1175252054","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1734066525,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1175252054?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2024-12-13 13:08","market":"us","language":"en","title":"AMD: 2 Reasons To Be Greedy When Others Are Fearful","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1175252054","media":"Seeking Alpha","summary":"SummaryAdvanced Micro Devices, Inc.'s Q3 earnings were followed by large price corrections. These corrections are mostly due to concerns of uncertainties in PC demand and AI chip cycle. The prevailing s","content":"

Summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.'s Q3 earnings were followed by large price corrections.

These corrections are mostly due to concerns of uncertainties in PC demand and AI chip cycle.

The prevailing sentiment has gone too far in the fear extreme.

It has factored in the downside risks already but largely ignored the positives such as its robust economic earnings, attractive valuation, and improving inventory data.

I am Envision Research. As reflected in the article’s title, “AMD Q3 Preview: Status Of The Cycle,” it was a preview of its FY Q3 earnings report (ER). In the article, I argued for a bullish thesis based on the use of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing’s (TSM) strong Q3 earnings as a leading signal for AMD’s business cycle. To be more explicit, I argued that:

TSM recently reported strong Q3 earnings, largely driven by AI and high-performance computing demand. TSM’s earnings growth foreshadows a strong Q3 from AMD, given AMD's position in these segments. In particular, when considered in combination with AMD’s historical cyclicality, I think AMD is very likely entering a new expansion phase.

Since that time, there have been a few new catalysts evolving around AMD stock. These catalysts have titled the prevailing sentiment surrounding the stock to the fear extreme in my view. In the remainder of this, I will elaborate on some top causes of such fear and argue why the fear is overblown. As such, this article reiterates my BUY rating on the stock.

The first new catalyst since my last writing was the Q3 ER itself. As seen from the screenshot below, AMD announced its Q3 earnings on October 26, 2024, shortly after my last article. The earnings are quite robust as I expected. To wit, the normalized EPS was $0.92, which was in line with expectations. The GAAP EPS was $0.47, beating estimates by $0.06. Revenue came in at $6.828 billion, exceeding expectations by $104.33 million.

Seeking Alpha

However, there are also some areas of the ER that deviated from my expectations. The most notable area is the demand outlook for both PC and AI-related chips. These issues have created uncertainties for the company’s future growth. As a reflection of such uncertainties, EPS revisions for the stock were dominated by downward revisions as seen. Only 5 analysts upped their estimates over the past 90 days, against a total of 29 downward revisions.

AMD Stock: Fear is Overblown

And admittedly, there are good reasons behind the prevailing downward revisions. For example, leading institutional analysts are expecting tampered demand from leading AI customers. For example, Citi analysts believe that:

...industry stalwart Broadcom’s F1Q25 guidance will be tempered as there appears to be a slowdown in orders from leading AI customer Google.

Speaking of GOOG, another new catalyst that could have a far-reaching impact on AMD is the latest advancements in quantum chips. I don’t use the phrase “game changing” lightly, and quantum chips are among the few game-changing technologies in my mind. More specifically, GOOG recently unveiled its Willow quantum computing chip. According to a study published in Nature:

The chip is capable of handling complex calculations in a span of five minutes, while the world’s most powerful supercomputers would need 10 septillion years. As you can clearly see, AMD’s OE has systematically and considerably exceeded its accounting EPS. For readers who do not want to go over the trouble of sorting out the growth CAPEX, the fact that its free cash flow (“FCF”) has been in general above its accounting EPS provides an easy and quick indicator for its capital-light model already. Quantitatively, my results show that AMD’s OE is about 32% higher than its accounting EPS based on its 2024 EPS estimate and CAPEX outlay. Thus, its P/E based on owners’ earnings would be about 32% lower than its accounting P/E.

Author

AMD Stock: Improving Inventory Data

The second reason to be greedy here is that AMD’s latest inventory data is improving. For growth and cyclical businesses like the chip industry, I strongly urge investors to start looking at their inventory data following these insights from Peter Lynch:

To start, unlike many other financial data that are more open to interpretation, inventory is one of the less ambiguous financial data. Lynch also explained why inventory levels can be a telltale sign of business cycles. Especially for cyclical businesses, inventory buildup is a warning sign, which indicates the company (or sector) might be overproducing while the demand is already softening. Conversely, depleting inventory could be an early sign of a recovery.

In the case of AMD, the chart below illustrates its inventory (in dollar amount, top panel) and also days of inventory outstanding (bottom panel) recently. As seen, its inventory has been steadily increasing and currently sits at a record level of $5.374 billion as of Q3 2024.

A high level of inventory is only a bad sign when it outgrows the pace of sales growth, which was unfortunately the case for AMD in the past few quarters. As seen, its Days of Inventory Outstanding (DIO) fluctuated in the past few years but has followed an overall upward trend since 2020. In particular, the DIO peaked at around 150 days in early 2024. However, the latest inventory data began to show a reversal of the trend. Its DIO decreased from the peak level of 150 days to the current level of 139 days.

Seeking Alpha

Other Risks and Final Thoughts

In terms of downside risks, as mentioned earlier, the cycle of the AI chip demand is the top near-term risk, and disruptive technologies such as quantum computing chips are lurking as a long-term risk. Besides these risks, the competition pressure in the data center market is also a risk among my top concerns. Recently, AMD has been making gains in the data center market, replacing existing offerings with its EPYC central processing units. These newer products are known for their performance and energy efficiency advantages. However, its competitive position against the sector leader Nvidia (NVDA) is still quite fluid in my view with NVDA’s Blackwell chips, which also feature a substantial boost to computing performance and energy efficiency compared to its earlier chips.

All told, my verdict is that these downside risks are already well priced in under the current conditions. Actually, I consider the price corrections to be overdone due to the fearful market sentiment despite sound business fundamentals as reflected in its robust cash flow, economic earnings, and inventory data. I consider this a good contrarian opportunity to be greedy and bet against the prevailing sentiment. I hold a Masters in Quant Investment. I lead the investing group Envision Early Retirement where we offer proven solutions to generate both high income & high growth with isolated risks.AMD Stock: Previous Thesis and Q3 EarningsI last wrote on Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. back in October 2024. To be more explicit, I argued that:TSM recently reported strong Q3 earnings, largely driven by AI and high-performance computing demand. TSM’s earnings growth foreshadows a strong Q3 from AMD, given AMD's position in these segments. In particular, when considered in combination with AMD’s historical cyclicality, I think AMD is very likely entering a new expansion phase.Since that time, there have been a few new catalysts evolving around AMD stock. Revenue came in at $6.828 billion, exceeding expectations by $104.33 million.Seeking AlphaHowever, there are also some areas of the ER that deviated from my expectations. The most notable area is the demand outlook for both PC and AI-related chips. These issues have created uncertainties for the company’s future growth. As a reflection of such uncertainties, EPS revisions for the stock were dominated by downward revisions as seen. Only 5 analysts upped their estimates over the past 90 days, against a total of 29 downward revisions.AMD Stock: Fear is OverblownAnd admittedly, there are good reasons behind the prevailing downward revisions. For example, leading institutional analysts are expecting tampered demand from leading AI customers. For example, Citi analysts believe that:...industry stalwart Broadcom’s F1Q25 guidance will be tempered as there appears to be a slowdown in orders from leading AI customer Google.Speaking of GOOG, another new catalyst that could have a far-reaching impact on AMD is the latest advancements in quantum chips. I don’t use the phrase “game changing” lightly, and quantum chips are among the few game-changing technologies in my mind. More specifically, GOOG recently unveiled its Willow quantum computing chip. According to a study published in Nature:The chip is capable of handling complex calculations in a span of five minutes, while the world’s most powerful supercomputers would need 10 septillion years. \"Our results present device performance that, if scaled, could realize the operational requirements of large-scale fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, Google researchers wrote in the study's abstract. These near-term and long-term factors have helped to pressure AMD’s stock price. More specifically, the next table provides EPS estimates for AMD in the next five years. These estimates show a rapid increase in its earnings, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36.6%. The current forward P/E ratio is about 38x. As such, the PEG (P/E growth) ratio is about 1x, the gold standard for most GARP investors (growth at a reasonable price).Seeking AlphaMore importantly, as a fabless chip player, AMD features a very capital-light model, and its CAPEX is largely towards growth CAPEX (rather than maintenance CAPEX). Hence, its accounting EPS represents a substantial underestimation of its true owners’ earnings (OE).The detailed analysis of its OE is a bit involved, so here I will skip the process and only quote the results. Our data suggests that Jonathan Rothberg, who is also the company's Top Key Executive, holds the most number of shares at 26%. When an insider holds a sizeable amount of a company's stock, investors consider it as a positive sign because it suggests that insiders are willing to have their wealth tied up in the future of the company. Nikko Asset Management Co., Ltd. is the second largest shareholder owning 11% of common stock, and ARK Investment Management LLC holds about 8.3% of the company stock.
\n
On looking further, we found that 53% of the shares are owned by the top 5 shareholders. In other words, these shareholders have a meaningful say in the decisions of the company.
\n
While it makes sense to study institutional ownership data for a company, it also makes sense to study analyst sentiments to know which way the wind is blowing. While there is some analyst coverage, the company is probably not widely covered. So it could gain more attention, down the track.
\n
Insider Ownership Of Quantum-Si
\n
The definition of an insider can differ slightly between different countries, but members of the board of directors always count. Company management run the business, but the CEO will answer to the board, even if he or she is a member of it.
\n
I generally consider insider ownership to be a good thing. However, on some occasions it makes it more difficult for other shareholders to hold the board accountable for decisions.
\n
Our most recent data indicates that insiders own a reasonable proportion of Quantum-Si incorporated. Insiders own US$48m worth of shares in the US$178m company. We would say this shows alignment with shareholders, but it is worth noting that the company is still quite small; some insiders may have founded the business. You can click here to see if those insiders have been buying or selling.
\n
General Public Ownership
\n
The general public, who are usually individual investors, hold a 34% stake in Quantum-Si. This size of ownership, while considerable, may not be enough to change company policy if the decision is not in sync with other large shareholders.
\n
Next Steps:
\n
It's always worth thinking about the different groups who own shares in a company. But to understand Quantum-Si better, we need to consider many other factors. Take risks for example - Quantum-Si has 3 warning signs (and 1 which is a bit unpleasant) we think you should know about.
\n
Ultimately the future is most important. Power projected that EVs coming off leases would also flood the market in the next two years, hitting 65,600 by the end of this year and 215,000 by 2026.

However, the main reason for today's sell-off seemed to be related to sentiment and valuation as Tesla's surge has come without any clear benefit to the business, and with the broader pullback in the market, investors seem to be saying the post-election rally has run out of steam.

Is Tesla a buy?

Tesla has soared in the aftermath of the election as CEO Elon Musk closely aligned himself with Trump, but it's not fully clear that getting in the president's good graces is going to benefit his EV company.

After all, Trump campaigned on a plan to eliminate the tax credit for EVs and other clean energy programs, and Musk himself has complained that affordability is one of the biggest factors preventing Tesla and EVs more broadly from gaining more market share. Losing the credit, which is worth as much as $7,500 on some of Tesla's vehicles, would seem to be a clear negative for the company.

Investors are ultimately hopeful that the Trump administration will loosen up rules around autonomy, making it easier for Tesla to roll out its new robotaxi, or Cybercab, but safety and public perception will be the most critical test for the vehicles. If they cause accidents and Tesla is perceived as getting special favours from the government, that would likely be a disaster for its reputation.

There's still a lot of uncertainty for the company despite Musk's cozy relationship with Trump, and the stock trades at a demanding multiple.

"Our results present device performance that, if scaled, could realize the operational requirements of large-scale fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, Google researchers wrote in the study's abstract.

These near-term and long-term factors have helped to pressure AMD’s stock price. As seen in the chart below, its stock price has declined significantly over the past few months, dropping almost 20% in the past 6 months while the broader market enjoyed a strong rally.

The current situation surrounding AMD has reminded me of the adage of being greedy when others are fearful. And I do see two particular reasons to be greedy in this case, 1) the stock’s attractive valuation, especially adjusted by growth and growth CAPEX, and 2) the improving inventory data.

Seeking Alpha

AMD Stock: Attractive P/E and PEG Multiples

The prevailing fearful sentiment has brought the stock’s P/E to a very attractive level, especially when adjusted for its growth outlook. More specifically, the next table provides EPS estimates for AMD in the next five years. These estimates show a rapid increase in its earnings, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36.6%. The current forward P/E ratio is about 38x. As such, the PEG (P/E growth) ratio is about 1x, the gold standard for most GARP investors (growth at a reasonable price).

Seeking Alpha

More importantly, as a fabless chip player, AMD features a very capital-light model, and its CAPEX is largely towards growth CAPEX (rather than maintenance CAPEX). Hence, its accounting EPS represents a substantial underestimation of its true owners’ earnings (OE).

The detailed analysis of its OE is a bit involved, so here I will skip the process and only quote the results. These results were obtained following the approach described in Greenwald’s book entitled Value Investing.

The growth part should actually be considered part of the OE because it can be returned to the owners if the owners decide not to grow the business anymore – a key insight that investors like Buffett have recognized. The growth CAPEX for AMD is estimated in these steps. First, calculate the ratio of PPE (properties, plants, and equipment) to sales for each of the five prior years and find the average. We use this to indicate the dollars of PPE it takes to support each dollar of sales. We then multiply this ratio by the growth (or decrease) in sales dollars the company has achieved in the current year. The result of that calculation is growth CAPEX. We then subtract it from total CAPEX to arrive at maintenance CAPEX.

Following these steps, the next chart summarizes my results for AMD’s OE recently.

I lead the investing group Envision Early Retirement where we offer proven solutions to generate both high income & high growth with isolated risks.AMD Stock: Previous Thesis and Q3 EarningsI last wrote on Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. back in October 2024. As seen in the chart below, its stock price has declined significantly over the past few months, dropping almost 20% in the past 6 months while the broader market enjoyed a strong rally. The current situation surrounding AMD has reminded me of the adage of being greedy when others are fearful. And I do see two particular reasons to be greedy in this case, 1) the stock’s attractive valuation, especially adjusted by growth and growth CAPEX, and 2) the improving inventory data.Seeking AlphaAMD Stock: Attractive P/E and PEG MultiplesThe prevailing fearful sentiment has brought the stock’s P/E to a very attractive level, especially when adjusted for its growth outlook. We then subtract it from total CAPEX to arrive at maintenance CAPEX.Following these steps, the next chart summarizes my results for AMD’s OE recently. Thus, its P/E based on owners’ earnings would be about 32% lower than its accounting P/E.AuthorAMD Stock: Improving Inventory DataThe second reason to be greedy here is that AMD’s latest inventory data is improving. For growth and cyclical businesses like the chip industry, I strongly urge investors to start looking at their inventory data following these insights from Peter Lynch:To start, unlike many other financial data that are more open to interpretation, inventory is one of the less ambiguous financial data. As seen, its inventory has been steadily increasing and currently sits at a record level of $5.374 billion as of Q3 2024.A high level of inventory is only a bad sign when it outgrows the pace of sales growth, which was unfortunately the case for AMD in the past few quarters. As seen, its Days of Inventory Outstanding (DIO) fluctuated in the past few years but has followed an overall upward trend since 2020. In particular, the DIO peaked at around 150 days in early 2024. However, the latest inventory data began to show a reversal of the trend. Its DIO decreased from the peak level of 150 days to the current level of 139 days.Seeking AlphaOther Risks and Final ThoughtsIn terms of downside risks, as mentioned earlier, the cycle of the AI chip demand is the top near-term risk, and disruptive technologies such as quantum computing chips are lurking as a long-term risk. As such, this article reiterates my buy rating on the stock.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":14,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":380241123963016,"gmtCreate":1733860228623,"gmtModify":1733860232365,"author":{"id":"3584484322728004","authorId":"3584484322728004","name":"Eason24","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4fa5126bed2ccc2d8ebf78f01290194b","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584484322728004","authorIdStr":"3584484322728004"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$LLY 20241220 805.0 PUT$ ","listText":"$LLY 20241220 805.0 PUT$ ","text":"$LLY 20241220 805.0 PUT$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6ae513525dde4c7690b402cd6b90ffa3","width":"882","height":"1668"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/380241123963016","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":104,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":380249360416784,"gmtCreate":1733860209817,"gmtModify":1733860212494,"author":{"id":"3584484322728004","authorId":"3584484322728004","name":"Eason24","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4fa5126bed2ccc2d8ebf78f01290194b","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584484322728004","authorIdStr":"3584484322728004"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$IWM 20241227 240.0 PUT$ ","listText":"$IWM 20241227 240.0 PUT$ ","text":"$IWM 20241227 240.0 PUT$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/e6f1a0cb42a85d4cd4a642288aa56fbe","width":"882","height":"1668"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/380249360416784","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":167,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":380145164706064,"gmtCreate":1733860182926,"gmtModify":1733860185853,"author":{"id":"3584484322728004","authorId":"3584484322728004","name":"Eason24","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4fa5126bed2ccc2d8ebf78f01290194b","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584484322728004","authorIdStr":"3584484322728004"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$LLY 20241220 800.0 PUT$ ","listText":"$LLY 20241220 800.0 PUT$ ","text":"$LLY 20241220 800.0 PUT$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/689b417467ef4992e06bd63e9ef206f1","width":"882","height":"1668"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/380145164706064","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":52,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":379845490790720,"gmtCreate":1733787060233,"gmtModify":1733787063768,"author":{"id":"3584484322728004","authorId":"3584484322728004","name":"Eason24","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4fa5126bed2ccc2d8ebf78f01290194b","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584484322728004","authorIdStr":"3584484322728004"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Interesting article on XOM","listText":"Interesting article on XOM","text":"Interesting article on XOM","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/379845490790720","repostId":"377638312210448","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":377638312210448,"gmtCreate":1733218745534,"gmtModify":1733271002029,"author":{"id":"3501196737273098","authorId":"3501196737273098","name":"Tiger_comments","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/227887b200e9925968650d5db4a8bfb3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3501196737273098","authorIdStr":"3501196737273098"},"themes":[],"title":"Apple Reclaims No.1 Spot! Of course, keep in mind that there are other factors to consider, too.
\n
\n\n
\n NasdaqGM:QSI Earnings and Revenue Growth December 3rd 2024\n
\n
\n
Hedge funds don't have many shares in Quantum-Si.
With 38% stake, institutions possess the maximum shares in the company. Put another way, the group faces the maximum upside potential (or downside risk). \n And institutional investors saw their holdings value drop by 17% last week. The recent loss, which adds to a one-year loss of 35% for stockholders, may not sit well with this group of investors. Institutions or \"liquidity providers\" control large sums of money and therefore, these types of investors usually have a lot of influence over stock price movements. As a result, if the downtrend continues, institutions may face pressures to sell Quantum-Si, which might have negative implications on individual investors. \n In the chart below, we zoom in on the different ownership groups of Quantum-Si. \n Check out our latest analysis for Quantum-Si \n\n\n\n NasdaqGM:QSI Ownership Breakdown December 3rd 2024\n \n\nWhat Does The Institutional Ownership Tell Us About Quantum-Si?\n Institutional investors commonly compare their own returns to the returns of a commonly followed index. So they generally do consider buying larger companies that are included in the relevant benchmark index. \n As you can see, institutional investors have a fair amount of stake in Quantum-Si. This implies the analysts working for those institutions have looked at the stock and they like it. But just like anyone else, they could be wrong. It is not uncommon to see a big share price drop if two large institutional investors try to sell out of a stock at the same time. So it is worth checking the past earnings trajectory of Quantum-Si, (below). Of course, keep in mind that there are other factors to consider, too. \n\n\n\n NasdaqGM:QSI Earnings and Revenue Growth December 3rd 2024\n \n\n Hedge funds don't have many shares in Quantum-Si. All figures quoted in US dollars unless otherwise stated.

After a dramatic bull run following the election of Donald Trump last week, Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) shares are finally cooling off today, pulling back in line with a broader sell-off as the S&P 500 is headed for its first decline since the election.

There was no major company-specific news out on Tesla, though Hertz Global again offered evidence that demand for electric vehicles (EVs) isn't as strong as bulls have hoped. Investors appear to be questioning the valuation after the stock jumped nearly 40% over the four sessions after the election.

As of 2:56 p.m. ET, the stock was down 5%.

Tesla runs out of gas

The only piece of news that would have directly weighed on the stock was Hertz's announcement that it continues to see weak demand for EVs and will sell 30,000 of them by the end of the year. Relatedly, J.D.

If the Trump-related thesis doesn't work out, Tesla stock could have a long way to fall.

This article was originally published on Fool.com. Tesla runs out of gas The only piece of news that would have directly weighed on the stock was Hertz's announcement that it continues to see weak demand for EVs and will sell 30,000 of them by the end of the year. Relatedly, J.D. If the Trump-related thesis doesn't work out, Tesla stock could have a long way to fall. This article was originally published on Fool.com.
