But in a lucky few cases for the beneficiaries, the global health crisis may turn out to be cynically rewarding. In my view,Intel(NASDAQ:INTC) stock could be primed for just such a circumstance.
\n
Further, the generally frustrating consolidation pattern of INTC stock may later translate into longer-term profitability.
\n
As you’re well aware, the pandemic initially disrupted global supply chains across virtually all industries. Some sectors, such as the supply chain for toilet paper, have thankfully improved, allowing everyday Americans to view the newspaper for exactly its stated purpose, to read the news.
\n
The semiconductor industry wasn’t so lucky. When the Covid-19 crisis first impacted economies throughout the globe, automakers, in particular, cut their inventory order requests. Then, when demand suddenly spiked for personal vehicles and other products that heavily rely on computer chips, semiconductor firms were caught between a rock and a hard place.
\n
Basically, semiconductor production isn’t nearly as nimble as some folks apparently think it is. It takes time to fabricate the chips and directing resources for certain types of semiconductor products also incurs a time-intensive process.
\n
Combined with the age of just-in-time manufacturing, where procurement for individual components of particular products are ordered based on actual demand trends, the circumstance has caused amassive order backlog.
\n
Just by default, INTC stock is a fortunate beneficiary. With every company that needs semiconductors to manufacture their products in desperate straits, the crisis has been a profitability boon for Intel and the broader chipmaking industry.
\n
As well, semiconductor consumers are not going to be choosers in a beggar’s market. Considering that Intel hasn’t kept pace with its rivals, INTC stock essentially “earned” a reprieve due to the pandemic.
\n
And that might be the beginning for Intel in the coming years ahead.
\n
INTC Stock Enjoys a Crowded Field
\n
Whenever I have free time — which is hardly at all these days — I try to catch a few auto races. Those who are familiar with Indycar or NASCAR racing will understand exactly what I’m about to say regarding INTC stock.
\n
For those that don’t, let me provide a quick backdrop.
\n
Ordinarily, a driver running in the lead wants to have a clean race with no incidents — not just for the driver in question but for everyone else. In many if not most racing series, should a serious incident occur, the race director will call for a yellow flag — basically a slowdown period that enables emergency crews to clean up the wreck.
\n
Notably for Indycar or NASCAR, yellow flags result in the entire field being bunched together. Once the director issues a green flag restart, the number two driver suddenly has the advantage. Whatever lead the number one person built is now gone.
\n
In a similar vein, the pandemic has been a yellow flag to the benefit of INTC stock. For years, the underlying company has made a series of unfortunate unforced errors from both a production and ethical perspective. So Intel found itself struggling in the backfield. But with every competitor suffering from the pandemic, it hands the advantage to Intel.
\n
Sure, the competitors that leapfrogged Intel still have their technical advantage — the pandemic won’t touch that aspect. But the thing is, those companies cannot efficiently leverage that technical acumen for the time being.
\n
For instance, thepriority for the semiconductor industryis to address the automotive parts shortage as it’s the most mission-critical (and profitable, I might add). That means chipmakers must balance their output toward other needs, such as consumer electronics, lighting fixtures and power infrastructure, among several more segments.
\n
Ordinarily, Intel’s rivals could just meet that demand with their superior tech. But again, that’s not the case in this paradigm.
\n
Not Just a Lucky Break
\n
Having said the above, there might be a temptation to view INTC stock as merely the recipient of good fortune. Moving forward, the industry will rebalance and Intel will move back to the field where it deservedly belongs.
\n
But recent news coming out of the company suggests that’s not the case at all. CEO Pat Gelsinger has beenvery vocal about his optimism for the Intel brand, with major ambitions targeting the European automotive market.
\n
Moreover, the tech giant is making inroads with its processors, righting a ship that was wronged a few years ago.
\n
It’s not an easy case because betting on a company that suffered deserved troubles is always risky. It is up about 60 per cent this year alone as demand for electric vehicles increases, countries work to reduce carbon emissions and costs tumble.\nCATL trades at more than 100 times estimated earnings, compared with about 13 times for its competitor Panasonic.\nIn addition to Tesla, CATL counts BMW and Volkswagen among its customers.\nIn an interview last year, Dr Zeng said he and Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk text about technology, Covid-19 and Mr Musk's main interest: cheaper batteries and cars.\nDr Zeng, who earned his doctorate in condensed matter physics from the Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing, is not the only billionaire who is benefiting from the surge in CATL's stock. Mr Huang Shilin, a vice-chairman of the company, is worth more than US$21 billion, while Mr Li Ping, who is also a vice-chairman, has a fortune worth US$8.5 billion.\nAs Dr Zeng's star rises, Mr Ma's has been on the wane. The value of Mr Ma's fintech arm Ant Group has plummeted since the former English teacher openly pushed back against Beijing, prompting the Chinese authorities to quash the company's plans for a huge initial public offering. Mr Ma, 56, has all but dropped from public view, and has lost US$2.5 billion in wealth this year.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":891,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":173355385,"gmtCreate":1626621266247,"gmtModify":1703762406444,"author":{"id":"3584500839740092","authorId":"3584500839740092","name":"Hrithickraja","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/12b15f8a725e2a9350a2a8db304072de","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584500839740092","authorIdStr":"3584500839740092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I like iy. The print is expected to show an acceleration in rehiring and a step lower in the unemployment rate, helping alleviate some of the labor shortages reported across the economy as of late.
\n
Non-farm payrolls likely grew by 700,000 in June, according to Bloomberg consensus data. This would accelerate from the 559,000 added back in May and mark the biggest rise since March. And the unemployment rate is expected to move down to 5.6% from 5.8% in May, bringing the jobless rate closer to its pre-pandemic, 50-year low of 3.5%.
\n
\"Payrolls probably surged again in June, with the pace up from the +559,000 in May,\" TD Securities strategists wrote in a note Friday. \"Some acceleration in the private sector is suggested by the Homebase data, while government payrolls probably benefited from fewer than usual end-of-school-year layoffs.\"
\n
Even with a sizable monthly payroll gain, the economy would still be well off its pre-pandemic levels of employment. Heading into June, the U.S. economy was still down by more than 7 million payrolls compared to February 2020, with the deficit most pronounced in high-contact services industries like restaurants and hotels.
\n
But both services and manufacturing companies have cited shortages of qualified workers to fill open positions, which hit a record high of over 9 million as of latest data. These supply-and-demand mismatches in the labor market – with shortages noted by firms from FedEx (FDX) to Yum Brands (YUM) — have also begun to push wages higher and created additional costs for businesses. In Friday's report, average hourly earnings are expected to jump 3.6% year-on-year for June, accelerating from May's 2% increase.
\n
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 03: A pedestrian walks by a Now Hiring sign outside of a Lamps Plus store on June 03, 2021 in San Francisco, California. According to a U.S. Labor Department report, jobless claims fell for a fifth straight week to 385,000. (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)Justin Sullivan via Getty Images
\n
\"Strong demand and weak supply should continue to put upward pressure on wages,\" Bank of America economist Michelle Meyer wrote in a note. \"Workers are quitting at a higher rate as they find better opportunities.\"
\n
However, a confluence of factors that have kept workers on the sidelines of the labor market may start to lessen in the coming months, some economists noted. Many have agreed that a combination of childcare concerns, fears of contracting COVID-19 and ongoing enhanced federal unemployment benefits have contributed to the still-elevated levels of joblessness, but that each of these should diminish as schools reopen, vaccinations continue and jobless benefits get phased out over the next several months.
\n
\"Labor supply may soon pick up,\" Meyer said. \"We find evidence of a quicker drop in unemployment insurance (UI) applications in states that discontinued generous federal UI benefits.\"
\n
\"Four states — Alaska, Iowa, Mississippi and Missouri — opted out in June 12 and UI applications in those states have fallen faster compared to other states, according to the latest initial jobless claims figures,\" she added. \"With another eight states opting out in the week ending June 19 and a total of 25 states by end of the summer, more workers should return to the workforce, helping to ease wage pressures and help meet the strong labor demand in the economy.\"
\n
Consumer confidence
\n

\n
Another closely watched economic data print this week will be the Conference Board's June consumer confidence index, which is expected to reflect a strong pick-up in sentiment during the recovery and heading into the summer. The report is due for release Tuesday morning.
\n
The headline index is likely to rise to 119.0 for June from 117.2 in May, according to Bloomberg consensus data. This would mark the highest level since February 2020's 132.6, which itself had been a near two-decade high.
\n
Like investors, consumers have begun to warm to the notion that inflationary pressures seen during the early stages of the economic recovery may prove transitory. This has helped raise consumers' future expectations for their spending power and boosted sentiment at large, according to other consumer sentiment surveys including the University of Michigan's Surveys of Consumers.
\n
Not only did year-ahead inflation expectations fall slightly to 4.2% in June from May's decade peak of 4.6%, consumers also believed that the price surges will mostly be temporary,\" Richard Curtin, chief economist for the Surveys of Consumers, said on Friday.
\n
\"When the pandemic first started, consumers were quite uncertain about their job and income prospects, but reported widespread declines in market prices for homes, vehicles, and household durables,\" he added. \"Those favorable price references have dropped to the most negative in a decade, and job and income prospects have improved, but not quite as favorable as in the last few years of the prior expansion.\"
\n
Still, in a sign of some downside risk in Tuesday's report from the Conference Board, the University of Michigan's June final sentiment index edged lower to 85.5, coming in below the 86.4 preliminary print, but still above May's reading of 82.9.
\n
Economic Calendar
\n
\n

Monday: Dallas Fed Manufacturing Activity Index, June (32.5 expected, 34.9 in May)

\n

Tuesday: FHFA House Price Index, month-on-month, April (1.7% expected, 1.4% in March); The print is expected to show an acceleration in rehiring and a step lower in the unemployment rate, helping alleviate some of the labor shortages reported across the economy as of late.\nNon-farm payrolls likely grew by 700,000 in June, according to Bloomberg consensus data. This would accelerate from the 559,000 added back in May and mark the biggest rise since March. And the unemployment rate is expected to move down to 5.6% from 5.8% in May, bringing the jobless rate closer to its pre-pandemic, 50-year low of 3.5%.\n\"Payrolls probably surged again in June, with the pace up from the +559,000 in May,\" TD Securities strategists wrote in a note Friday. \"Some acceleration in the private sector is suggested by the Homebase data, while government payrolls probably benefited from fewer than usual end-of-school-year layoffs.\"\nEven with a sizable monthly payroll gain, the economy would still be well off its pre-pandemic levels of employment. Heading into June, the U.S. economy was still down by more than 7 million payrolls compared to February 2020, with the deficit most pronounced in high-contact services industries like restaurants and hotels.\nBut both services and manufacturing companies have cited shortages of qualified workers to fill open positions, which hit a record high of over 9 million as of latest data. These supply-and-demand mismatches in the labor market – with shortages noted by firms from FedEx (FDX) to Yum Brands (YUM) — have also begun to push wages higher and created additional costs for businesses. In Friday's report, average hourly earnings are expected to jump 3.6% year-on-year for June, accelerating from May's 2% increase.\nSAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 03: A pedestrian walks by a Now Hiring sign outside of a Lamps Plus store on June 03, 2021 in San Francisco, California. According to a U.S. Labor Department report, jobless claims fell for a fifth straight week to 385,000. (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)Justin Sullivan via Getty Images\n\"Strong demand and weak supply should continue to put upward pressure on wages,\" Bank of America economist Michelle Meyer wrote in a note. \"Workers are quitting at a higher rate as they find better opportunities.\"\nHowever, a confluence of factors that have kept workers on the sidelines of the labor market may start to lessen in the coming months, some economists noted. Many have agreed that a combination of childcare concerns, fears of contracting COVID-19 and ongoing enhanced federal unemployment benefits have contributed to the still-elevated levels of joblessness, but that each of these should diminish as schools reopen, vaccinations continue and jobless benefits get phased out over the next several months.\n\"Labor supply may soon pick up,\" Meyer said. \"We find evidence of a quicker drop in unemployment insurance (UI) applications in states that discontinued generous federal UI benefits.\"\n\"Four states — Alaska, Iowa, Mississippi and Missouri — opted out in June 12 and UI applications in those states have fallen faster compared to other states, according to the latest initial jobless claims figures,\" she added. \"With another eight states opting out in the week ending June 19 and a total of 25 states by end of the summer, more workers should return to the workforce, helping to ease wage pressures and help meet the strong labor demand in the economy.\"\nConsumer confidence\n\nAnother closely watched economic data print this week will be the Conference Board's June consumer confidence index, which is expected to reflect a strong pick-up in sentiment during the recovery and heading into the summer. The report is due for release Tuesday morning.\nThe headline index is likely to rise to 119.0 for June from 117.2 in May, according to Bloomberg consensus data. This would mark the highest level since February 2020's 132.6, which itself had been a near two-decade high.\nLike investors, consumers have begun to warm to the notion that inflationary pressures seen during the early stages of the economic recovery may prove transitory. This has helped raise consumers' future expectations for their spending power and boosted sentiment at large, according to other consumer sentiment surveys including the University of Michigan's Surveys of Consumers.\nNot only did year-ahead inflation expectations fall slightly to 4.2% in June from May's decade peak of 4.6%, consumers also believed that the price surges will mostly be temporary,\" Richard Curtin, chief economist for the Surveys of Consumers, said on Friday.\n\"When the pandemic first started, consumers were quite uncertain about their job and income prospects, but reported widespread declines in market prices for homes, vehicles, and household durables,\" he added. \"Those favorable price references have dropped to the most negative in a decade, and job and income prospects have improved, but not quite as favorable as in the last few years of the prior expansion.\"\nStill, in a sign of some downside risk in Tuesday's report from the Conference Board, the University of Michigan's June final sentiment index edged lower to 85.5, coming in below the 86.4 preliminary print, but still above May's reading of 82.9.\nEconomic Calendar\n\nMonday: Dallas Fed Manufacturing Activity Index, June (32.5 expected, 34.9 in May)\nTuesday: FHFA House Price Index, month-on-month, April (1.7% expected, 1.4% in March); The print is expected to show an acceleration in rehiring and a step lower in the unemployment rate, helping alleviate some of the labor shortages reported across the economy as of late.

\n

Tuesday: FHFA House Price Index, month-on-month, April (1.7% expected, 1.4% in March); Many have agreed that a combination of childcare concerns, fears of contracting COVID-19 and ongoing enhanced federal unemployment benefits have contributed to the still-elevated levels of joblessness, but that each of these should diminish as schools reopen, vaccinations continue and jobless benefits get phased out over the next several months.\n\"Labor supply may soon pick up,\" Meyer said. \"Those favorable price references have dropped to the most negative in a decade, and job and income prospects have improved, but not quite as favorable as in the last few years of the prior expansion.\"\nStill, in a sign of some downside risk in Tuesday's report from the Conference Board, the University of Michigan's June final sentiment index edged lower to 85.5, coming in below the 86.4 preliminary print, but still above May's reading of 82.9.\nEconomic Calendar\n\nMonday: Dallas Fed Manufacturing Activity Index, June (32.5 expected, 34.9 in May)\nTuesday: FHFA House Price Index, month-on-month, April (1.7% expected, 1.4% in March); S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-City Composite index, month-over-month, April (1.80% expected, 1.60% in March); S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-City Composite index, year-over-year, April (13.27% in March); Conference Board Consumer Confidence, June (119.0 expected, 117.2 in May)\nWednesday: MBA Mortgage Applications, week ended June 25 (2.1% during prior week); ADP Employment Change, June (575,000 expected, 978,000 in May); MNI Chicago PMI, June (70.0 expected, 75.2 in May); Pending home sales, month-over-month, May (-1.0% expected, -4.4% in April);\nThursday: Challenger Job Cuts, year-over-year, June (-93.8% in May); Initial jobless claims, week ended June 26 (380,000 expected, 411,000 during prior week); Continuing claims, week ended June 19 (3.39 million during prior week); Markit US Manufacturing PMI, June final (62.6 in prior print); Construction Spending month-over-month, May (0.5% expected 0.2% in April); ISM Manufacturing, June (61.0 expected, 61.2 in May)\nFriday: Change in non-farm payrolls, June (700,000 expected, 559,000 in May); Unemployment rate, June (5.6% expected, 5.8% in May); Average hourly earnings year-over-year, June (3.6% expected, 2.0% in May); Average hourly earnings, month-over-month, June (0.4% expected, 0.5% in May); Trade balance, May (-$71.0 billion expected, -$68.9 billion in April); Factory orders, May (1.5% expected, -0.6% in April); Durable goods orders, May final (2.3% in prior print); Durable goods orders excluding transportation, May final (2.3% in prior print); Non-defense capital goods orders excluding aircraft, May final (-0.1% in April); Non-defense capital goods shipments excluding aircraft, May final (0.9% in prior print)\n\nEarnings Calendar\n\nMonday: N/A\nTuesday: N/A\nWednesday: Constellation Brands (STZ), Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY), General Mills (GIS) before market open; Micron Technologies (MU) after market close\nThursday: Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) before market open\nFriday: N/A","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":353,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121583564,"gmtCreate":1624476064458,"gmtModify":1703837841039,"author":{"id":"3584500839740092","authorId":"3584500839740092","name":"Hrithickraja","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/12b15f8a725e2a9350a2a8db304072de","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584500839740092","authorIdStr":"3584500839740092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/121583564","repostId":"2145531099","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2145531099","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1624445171,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2145531099?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-23 18:46","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Forget Crypto: These Supercharged Stocks Can Make You Rich","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2145531099","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The cryptocurrency bubble will inevitably burst. Similar to online shopping, gaming benefited notably from people being stuck in their homes. Since Sea's mobile games target global audiences, and the pandemic is nowhere near over in many parts of the world, demand for gaming entertainment will likely remain robust. Over the past year (through the end of March), quarterly active paying users grew by 124%, with 12.3% of the company's total gamers now paying to play.
\n
Over the long run, Sea's crown jewel should be its e-commerce platform Shopee, which is consistently the most-popular shopping download in Southeastern Asia, and is gaining significant traction in Brazil. It's this rapid scaling from the company's enterprise clients that has CrowdStrike generating a subscription gross margin in the upper 70% range.\nInvestors should expect CrowdStrike to grow by 30% or more on an annual basis through the midpoint of the decade.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":126,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":173355008,"gmtCreate":1626621245404,"gmtModify":1703762406282,"author":{"id":"3584500839740092","authorId":"3584500839740092","name":"Hrithickraja","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/12b15f8a725e2a9350a2a8db304072de","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584500839740092","authorIdStr":"3584500839740092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/173355008","repostId":"1123523681","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1123523681","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1626569903,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1123523681?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-18 08:58","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The story behind the savvy ‘Mystery Broker’ and where he sees the market going now","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1123523681","media":"CNBC","summary":"“So, there’s this guy who emails me his market outlook every so often.”\nThat’s howmy Barron’s column","content":"
\n
“So, there’s this guy who emails me his market outlook every so often.”\nThat’s howmy Barron’s column started one week nearly a dozen years ago, introducing the canny and clear-thinking financial ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; He has no interest in having his name placed in print or pixels. And he is the one commentator I’m aware of who both turned aggressively bearish virtually at the all-time market peak in 2007, then in April began insisting that the March market lows would not be challenged, and that a new cyclical bull market had a long way to run.”\nThis broker’s dispatch to me in April 2009 — just weeks after the ultimate low of a wrenching 18-month bear market and terrifying global credit crisis — was a 12-page single-spaced argument that the financial crisis was over. This was far from the consensus at the time. A November 2007 piece had called for a brutal bear market, a month after the S&P 500 hit a peak it wouldn’t revisit until 2013 and before most investors even had a bear market on their radar.\nThe intention of airing his views was not to create some gimmick or generate cheap intrigue, but simply to offer the well-grounded thoughts of professional free of institutional constraints or the need to sell investment products.\nBut it did capture readers’ attention and imagination, to the point that requests for updates of the Mystery Broker’s market take come constantly. I continue it strictly because so many readers and viewers have followed his work for years and like to keep up\nAnd, yes, the whole exercise drives some people nuts, whether they think it’s irresponsible (which makes no sense, he gets no benefit and doesn’t hype small stocks that could move in his favor) or insist it’s a fictional alter ego (untrue).\nMystery Broker’s approach\nHe became a broker in the mid-’80s. While there’s long been a guessing game about MB’s identity, he is not someone who’s name anyone would know, he doesn’t otherwise comment publicly on investments.\nAs noted back in 2009: “He doesn’t claim any magic formulas or proprietary systems. His approach is eclectic and inclusive, ranging among economic, technical, historical, valuation and sentiment inputs.” He’ll cite Marty Zweig, Ned Davis and the Value Line Appreciation Potential indicators – fairly old-school inspirations – but doesn’t seem rigidly attached to any one model or style.\nI almost never solicit Mystery Broker’s take, preferring he check in only when it strikes him, often when he changes his market stance or is moved to reiterate his conviction in a prior call. Aside from the broad market commentary, he’ll sometimes make the case for or against individual stocks. He loved wells Fargo to start 2021, as well as GE, for instance.\nMystery Broker sometimes goes deep on a controversial emerging biotech name, the sort of thing I tend not to pass along. He was put off by CNBC’s heavy coverage of the “meme stocks” early this year and let me know it. He and I both have strong views on baseball, which we exchange via email. We’ve never met.\nHow he navigated the pandemic\nIn the past few months, Mystery Broker has been cautious on stocks and has missed a bit of upside. Specifically, he went to a sell (which tends to mean raising cash for clients and himself and hedging equity holdings with index puts) at the close on April 16, with the S&P 500 at 4185. The index went sideways for two months, then lifted to last week’s record up almost 5% from where he called for a correction.\nStill, he’s playing with a lot of house money, having been deftly bullish into the teeth of the March 2020 Covid crash. (He was negative on the market from January last year, though not because he expected either a pandemic or a crash).\nThe individual calls are viewable at the #MysteryBroker hashtag on Twitter, but to cite a few examples: He thought the March 4, 2020, low in the S&P 500 near 2900 would hold; it absolutely didn’t, plunging to about 2200 by the 23rd. But on March 26 he said the bottom was in, and within a month the S&P had recovered back to 2900.\nThen, this in mid-April 2020: He would normally look for a retest of the major low, but not then: ”“Because for the first time in stock market history the consensus is for a retest, a normal retest is not likely to happen.”\nThis was right, as was his preference for riskier cyclical stocks and his update June of last year: “We are in a new bull market...every correction should be bought...every time S&P 500 falls below its 50-day moving average is an extraordinary buying opportunity.”\nS&P 500 with 50-day moving averageFactSet\nAfter that and before predicting a correction three months ago that has yet to occur, he pegged the peak in FAANMG days before they topped last Sept. 1; said in late December the market had “entered the last hurrah for growth and speculative stocks” that would pressure the overall market but not necessarily drive across-the-board losses; and predicted bitcoin would peak coincident with the Coinbase listing (it did). Not perfect, but not bad.\nHis current outlook\nHis is not a system, but a weight-of-the-evidence approach pursued with an open mind and a feel for market cadences earned over more than three decades of economic cycles.\nFollowing up onhis latest update this week, I asked for a broader take on historical echoes and longer-term probabilities. Mystery Broker offers this:\n“I think the current recovery is most similar to the recovery in 2003-04. A big transition from hyper-growth to value. Also, valuations are already high after only one year of stock market and economic growth similar to 2003-4, although more extreme now. ” He expects “muted returns for the rest of decade similar to the low returns of the first decade of the 2000s. See leadership from industrials, healthcare and to some degree financials.”\n“Don’t expect technology to be a big outperformer and semiconductors will be a disappointment especially equipment semis that have benefitted from a few big trends over the last few years. Value, foreign stocks (expect dollar to fall over the next few years) and equal-weighted indices will outperform. Inflation and interest rates will slowly rise which is different from the last decade.\n“The big surprise will be how old industries adapt to new technology and fight off some of the hot new entries. There will be a lot of rebounds similar to how the New York Times came back from the dead last decade.”\nI also asked if he’s interested in being identified. The answer: not now, but maybe soon.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":356,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121581039,"gmtCreate":1624476089721,"gmtModify":1703837841683,"author":{"id":"3584500839740092","authorId":"3584500839740092","name":"Hrithickraja","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/12b15f8a725e2a9350a2a8db304072de","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584500839740092","authorIdStr":"3584500839740092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"?","listText":"?","text":"?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/121581039","repostId":"1145825451","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1145825451","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624433586,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1145825451?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-23 15:33","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why I Believe NIO Will Beat Out Tesla","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1145825451","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"The fact that Tesla scrapped its Model S Plaid Plus release is just part of it.Super fans of the latest and greatest high-endTesla, Inc. model received some disappointing news a week ago when CEO Elon Musk abruptly canceled the release of its highly anticipated Model S Plaid Plus with a tweet on June 6.Instead, the company has begun delivering a new Model S Plaid that has only a 390-mile range and 1,020 horsepower, though it still sprints to from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just two seconds. The go","content":"
\n The fact that Tesla scrapped its Model S Plaid Plus release is just part of it.\n
\n
Super fans of the latest and greatest high-endTesla, Inc.(NASDAQ:TSLA) model received some disappointing news a week ago when CEO Elon Musk abruptly canceled the release of its highly anticipated Model S Plaid Plus with a tweet on June 6.
\n
Source: nrqemi / Shutterstock.com
\n
Musk wrote there was… “No need, as Plaid is just so good.”
\n
The Model S Plaid Plus was supposed to be the fastest, most powerful and priciest version of the company’s Model S. Priced at $149,990, it was to feature a range of 520 miles, thanks to its innovative 4680 battery cells, 1,100 horsepower and the ability to speed from 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds.
\n
Instead, the company has begun delivering a new Model S Plaid that has only a 390-mile range and 1,020 horsepower, though it still sprints to from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just two seconds.
\n
As a way to “sugar coat” its flip flop, Tesla said the Model S Plaid is just as fast as the Model S Plaid Plus and $20,000 cheaper. Humm.
\n
This “bait and switch” has some Tesla fans worried, since they had deposits on the Model S Plaid Plus and wanted the innovative 4680 battery cells that Tesla had been touting as the key to longer range and more power. Essentially, the 4680 battery cells were the latest great Tesla development, since they were the first batteries to also be a structural component that supposedly allowed Tesla to lower the weight of its vehicles.
\n
Both the company’s Austin and Berlin manufacturing plants now under construction are supposed to also be making the 4680 batteries for new Tesla vehicles. If there is a problem with the engineering associated with utilizing the 4680 batteries or making them a structural component, then Tesla has grossly miscalculated, which is now worrying investors.
\n
Clearly something happened to delay the 4680 batteries that were supposed to provide Tesla with a competitive and engineering edge. For Tesla’s sake, I hope they figure out the problems associated with their much hyped 4680 battery cells, otherwise concerns about its two new manufacturing plants will emerge, as well as the stock losing more of its “mojo.”
\n
As someone who owns more than a few high-performance vehicles, I can tell you that the engineering geeks I know donotwant to get a new Model S Plaid instead of a Model S Plaid Plus and will likely ask for their deposits back.
\n
What Tesla did is like Ferrari or Porsche telling its customers that one of their much-hyped new performance models is now not being sold because the base model was just as good! Car fanatics, like myself, like the latest and greatest engineering tidbits, so we would rather cancel our orders versus settle for a base model.
\n
The good news for Tesla is that its China sales in May resurged to 21,936, up sharply from 11,671 in April. The company’s sales tend to spike at the end of each quarter. For example, Tesla sold 35,478 vehicles in China in March, which was the strongest month ever in China.
\n
This is raising expectations for very strong China sales in June, especially now that the Model Y is being manufactured in Shanghai. Interestingly, since most Chinese Teslas are now made with iron phosphate batteries, these vehicles have lower range than its lithium cobalt vehicles, but its iron phosphate vehicles are cheaper and now increasingly being exported to Europe.
\n
However, I’m convinced another electric vehicle (EV) company will eventually displace Tesla as the biggest manufacturer of EVs in China.
\n
Taking Advantage of the EV Revolution’s Profit Potential
\n
I’m talking about Nio, Inc.(NYSE:NIO). The reality is that this company is on the verge of dominating the EV market in China and Hong Kong. It’s why I put NIO on myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio back in February.
\n
The company boasts that it is the “next-generation car company,” as it designs and manufactures electric vehicles that utilize the latest technologies in connectivity, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI). NIO currently offers an electric seven-seater SUV (ES8) and a five-seater electric SUV (ES6) and recently introduced an attractive electric sedan (ET7). Its vehicles utilize NOMI, an in-vehicle artificial intelligence assistant.
\n
The company is also partnering with cutting-edge chip companies likeNVIDIA Corporation(NASDAQ:NVDA), another one of myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio stocks. NIO plans to use the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-a-chip for its electric vehicles that will provide autonomous driving capabilities. The NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-powered supercomputer, which is being called Adam, will be launched in the ET7 sedan in China in 2022. Announcements like this are very positive, so NIO has been stealing some of Tesla’s thunder lately.
\n
Now, it’s important to note that NIO was bailed out by the Chinese government. Last year, the Chinese government injected $1 billion and now has a 24% ownership in the company. The reality is that China wants to dominate at least five major industries by 2025, and NIO is now its ticket to dominate EV manufacturing.
\n
With the backing of the Chinese government, some Wall Street firms are eager to help NIO by issuing new debt or equity. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if NIO surpasses Tesla, which is currently number-two in China, for market share in the upcoming years.
\n
That means, if you missed Tesla’s parabolic run like I did, NIO is essentially giving us a “second chance” to make money in a potentially explosive electric vehicle company.
\n
Shares of NIO climbed nearly 13% since the company’s June 4 announcement of its May delivery report and positive analyst comments, while Tesla shares rose almost 3%. First, NIO revealed that the global chip shortage is starting to take a toll on its business. NIO only delivered 6,711 vehicles in May, or a 5.5% decline from April’s deliveries. Priced at $149,990, it was to feature a range of 520 miles, thanks to its innovative 4680 battery cells, 1,100 horsepower and the ability to speed from 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds.\nInstead, the company has begun delivering a new Model S Plaid that has only a 390-mile range and 1,020 horsepower, though it still sprints to from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just two seconds.\nAs a way to “sugar coat” its flip flop, Tesla said the Model S Plaid is just as fast as the Model S Plaid Plus and $20,000 cheaper. Humm.\nThis “bait and switch” has some Tesla fans worried, since they had deposits on the Model S Plaid Plus and wanted the innovative 4680 battery cells that Tesla had been touting as the key to longer range and more power. Essentially, the 4680 battery cells were the latest great Tesla development, since they were the first batteries to also be a structural component that supposedly allowed Tesla to lower the weight of its vehicles.\nBoth the company’s Austin and Berlin manufacturing plants now under construction are supposed to also be making the 4680 batteries for new Tesla vehicles. If there is a problem with the engineering associated with utilizing the 4680 batteries or making them a structural component, then Tesla has grossly miscalculated, which is now worrying investors.\nClearly something happened to delay the 4680 batteries that were supposed to provide Tesla with a competitive and engineering edge. For Tesla’s sake, I hope they figure out the problems associated with their much hyped 4680 battery cells, otherwise concerns about its two new manufacturing plants will emerge, as well as the stock losing more of its “mojo.”\nAs someone who owns more than a few high-performance vehicles, I can tell you that the engineering geeks I know donotwant to get a new Model S Plaid instead of a Model S Plaid Plus and will likely ask for their deposits back.\nWhat Tesla did is like Ferrari or Porsche telling its customers that one of their much-hyped new performance models is now not being sold because the base model was just as good! Car fanatics, like myself, like the latest and greatest engineering tidbits, so we would rather cancel our orders versus settle for a base model.\nThe good news for Tesla is that its China sales in May resurged to 21,936, up sharply from 11,671 in April. The company’s sales tend to spike at the end of each quarter. For example, Tesla sold 35,478 vehicles in China in March, which was the strongest month ever in China.\nThis is raising expectations for very strong China sales in June, especially now that the Model Y is being manufactured in Shanghai. Interestingly, since most Chinese Teslas are now made with iron phosphate batteries, these vehicles have lower range than its lithium cobalt vehicles, but its iron phosphate vehicles are cheaper and now increasingly being exported to Europe.\nHowever, I’m convinced another electric vehicle (EV) company will eventually displace Tesla as the biggest manufacturer of EVs in China.\nTaking Advantage of the EV Revolution’s Profit Potential\nI’m talking about Nio, Inc.(NYSE:NIO). The reality is that this company is on the verge of dominating the EV market in China and Hong Kong. It’s why I put NIO on myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio back in February.\nThe company boasts that it is the “next-generation car company,” as it designs and manufactures electric vehicles that utilize the latest technologies in connectivity, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI). NIO currently offers an electric seven-seater SUV (ES8) and a five-seater electric SUV (ES6) and recently introduced an attractive electric sedan (ET7). Its vehicles utilize NOMI, an in-vehicle artificial intelligence assistant.\nThe company is also partnering with cutting-edge chip companies likeNVIDIA Corporation(NASDAQ:NVDA), another one of myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio stocks. Announcements like this are very positive, so NIO has been stealing some of Tesla’s thunder lately.\nNow, it’s important to note that NIO was bailed out by the Chinese government. Last year, the Chinese government injected $1 billion and now has a 24% ownership in the company. The reality is that China wants to dominate at least five major industries by 2025, and NIO is now its ticket to dominate EV manufacturing.\nWith the backing of the Chinese government, some Wall Street firms are eager to help NIO by issuing new debt or equity. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if NIO surpasses Tesla, which is currently number-two in China, for market share in the upcoming years.\nThat means, if you missed Tesla’s parabolic run like I did, NIO is essentially giving us a “second chance” to make money in a potentially explosive electric vehicle company.\nShares of NIO climbed nearly 13% since the company’s June 4 announcement of its May delivery report and positive analyst comments, while Tesla shares rose almost 3%. First, NIO revealed that the global chip shortage is starting to take a toll on its business. NIO only delivered 6,711 vehicles in May, or a 5.5% decline from April’s deliveries. Company management noted that deliveries were “adversely impacted for several days due to the volatility of semiconductor supply and certain logistical adjustments.”\nInterestingly, despite the month-to-month dip, NIO’s deliveries were still up 95.3% year-over-year. Strong demand in China even inspired a Citigroup analyst to upgrade NIO to a buy rating, as he expects demand to accelerate in the coming months.\nIn other words, NIO represents thecrème de la crèmeof EV stocks right now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":212,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":162799281,"gmtCreate":1624074575843,"gmtModify":1703828288799,"author":{"id":"3584500839740092","authorId":"3584500839740092","name":"Hrithickraja","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/12b15f8a725e2a9350a2a8db304072de","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584500839740092","authorIdStr":"3584500839740092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/162799281","repostId":"2144779706","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":302,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":860139123,"gmtCreate":1632144874462,"gmtModify":1676530709632,"author":{"id":"3584500839740092","authorId":"3584500839740092","name":"Hrithickraja","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/12b15f8a725e2a9350a2a8db304072de","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584500839740092","authorIdStr":"3584500839740092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"?
