That worked for a few days but then we saw the flows start to reverse again.</p>\n<p>\"From a global investors point of view, they are looking at the choice of a fairly robust earnings season in U.S. and Europe to some extent and there's a question market when look at Asia and think 'do we need to be there' right now...there is a short term recalibration of risk appetite.\"</p>\n<p>Despite the Chinese tech sector woes, electric vehicle maker Li Auto launched its dual primary listing in Hong Kong on Tuesday that will raise up to $1.9 billion, according to its exchange filings.</p>\n<p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.28%, the S&amp;P 500 lost 0.18% and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.06%.</p>\n<p>The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield was down 5.5 basis points at 1.1839% in afternoon trading, extending a pattern of declines playing out since the spring.</p>\n<p>The yield touched 1.151%, the lowest since July 20, shortly after an Institute for Supply Management report showed July U.S. manufacturing growth slowed for the second straight month. </p>\n<p>In U.S. trade, oil was down between 3.3% and 3.6%, which Commonwealth Bank analysts said was the result of the Delta variant being seen \"as a headwind on still recovering oil demand.\"</p>\n<p>Oil started to track slightly higher during early Asian trade though.</p>\n<p>U.S crude ticked up 0.31% to $71.46 a barrel. Brent crude was 0.32% up to $73.15 per barrel. In April, the company provided data showing an 11-fold and 20-fold increase in neutralizing antibodies for RSV-B and RSV-A, respectively, compared with its previous vaccine candidate.</p>\n<h3><b>So what</b></h3>\n<p>RSV typically produces cold-like symptoms that last for a week or two. The Fast Track designation is a way for the FDA to expedite development of drugs that treat a currently unmet need. The process has lost some of its meaning in recent years. As an example, 73% of new drugs received the designation in 2018.</p>\n<h3><b>Now what</b></h3>\n<p>If Moderna can commercialize the drug, it won't have to share the rewards. It owns 100% of the asset. Although the market is estimated at less than $1 billion, the impact could be more substantial. It plans to create a seasonal respiratory vaccine to protect against RSV, COVID-19, and influenza. Insurers would be more likely to push that drug, as combining one shot for multiple protections is likely to increase compliance with recommended inoculations.</p>\n<p>In the short term, the $19.2 billion Moderna expects from its COVID-19 vaccine far outweighs any impact from the RSV vaccine. Management considers its competition to range from <b>Alphabet</b>'s YouTube to social media platforms like ByteDance's TikTok to video games, in addition to other streaming services and linear TV.</p>\n<p>Additionally, launching mobile gaming makes sense. It won't require any additional hardware; the interactivity is built into the devices; and most Netflix users already have the app loaded onto their devices. According to Apptopia, Netflix was the 10th-most downloaded app in the world in 2020, with 223 million downloads, and it was the only <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> in the top 10 that doesn't provide a free service. It's a good bet that many of the subscribers who come to Netflix for shows and movies would be happy to try out games on the platform as well.</p>\n<p>With a global brand and a giant built-in audience, Netflix should also be a highly appealing partner for game developers. Chief product officer Greg Peters said as much on the Q2 earnings call, arguing that because Netflix wouldn't be concerned with monetization tactics like advertising or in-app purchases, it would be more attractive to developers: \"So we're finding that many game developers really like that concept and that focus and this idea of being able to put all of their creative energy into just great gameplay, and not having to worry about those other considerations that they have typically had to trade off with, just making compelling games.\"</p>\n<h2>2. There's crossover potential with its intellectual property</h2>\n<p>There's no shortage of intellectual property (IP) in Hollywood that has become video games or, in turn, video games that have become movies. Among games that have become hit movies are <i>Mortal Kombat</i>, <i>Tomb Raider</i>, and <i>Sonic the Hedgehog</i>, while there are plenty of success stories in the other direction like <i>Goldeneye 007</i>, <i>Mad Max</i>, and <i>Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis</i>.</p>\n<p>Netflix has historically lacked the kind of monetization machine that <b>Walt Disney</b> has. When Disney makes a hit movie, it lives multiple lives as theme-park rides, toys, and live events like musical theater or Ice Capades -- and as games, which it generally licenses to developers.</p>\n<p>It's easy to imagine some of Netflix's hit shows like <i>Narcos</i>, <i>Ozark</i>, or <i>Stranger Things</i> translating into games. A show like <i>Queen's Gambit</i>, for example, could have easily lent itself to a themed chess game based on the show.</p>\n<p>There's also the potential for Netflix's gaming IP to move in the other direction. If the company launches a hit mobile game, the infrastructure to make those characters into a show or a movie is readily available. Peters acknowledged that this was part of the strategy on the call: \"Part of that will be games that extend our IP.
