FUBO stock shot to the moon not long ago, but this probably is not sustainable.FuboTV’s capital position is deeply negative. So, even when FuboTV’s management sets sky-high financial objectives, investors can stay grounded and ignore the hype.Let’s not mince words here. It’s a tough time to try to operate sports betting business. As inflation soared this year, FuboTV became the poster child of 2021’s growth plays gone wrong.Still, this hasn’t stopped FuboTV’s management from setting “bold targets,” as one analyst politely put it. Check FuboTV’s capital position and you’ll likely find, however, that the company’s lofty future goals don’t justify investor interest today.What Happened to FUBO Stock?Since FUBO stock is still essentially a meme stock, it’s prone to wild price moves regardless of FuboTV’s fundamentals. For instance, the company’s shares closed up 45% on Aug. 17 even though a Wedbush analyst had just downgraded the shares.It’s difficult to prove this, but it sounds like meme stock traders were trying to make a quick buck. Folks who followed them into the abyss were soon punished, though, as FuboTV shares coughed up those ill-gotten mid-August gains by early September.Circling back to the “bold targets” quote, it came from Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter. He warned that the company needed to raise capital and reduce cash burn or “it will be out of cash within a year.”Overeager traders temporarily bid up FUBO stock despite Pachter’s dire prediction. The analyst also said he wasn’t certain how dilutive any capital gain raise would be and worried about how soon they would take to reduce capital burn.FuboTV Won’t Be Cash Flow Positive for a WhilePachter’s comments apparently refer to comments made by FuboTV’s management, which can be reviewed in the company’s second-quarter 2022shareholder letter. In that letter, the company’s management stated FuboTV’s intention attain positive cash flow by 2025.In other words, don’t expect FuboTV to be cash flow positive for several years, at least. This, along with Pachter’s concern about FuboTV diluting its shares through capital-raising efforts, should be off-putting to prospective FUBO stock investors.Meanwhile, Evercore analyst Shweta Khajuria observed that FuboTV’s management expects to achieve not only positive free cash flow, but also positive adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, by 2025. Let’s see how the company is doing in 2022, though.FuboTV’s shareholder letter reveals that the company’s adjusted EBITDA was an already worrisome -$47.4 million in 2021’s second quarter. That financial hole deepened substantially to -$79.1 million in Q2 of 2022.Now, let’s talk about cash flow, since FuboTV’s management seemed so eager to discuss this topic. Actually, we can let the folks at FuboTV speak for themselves:“Operating cash flow in [Q2 2022] was negative $91.3 million, including $7.7 million operating cash outflow associated with the wagering business. This represented a $35.3 sequential reduction in operating cash flow.”FUBO Stock Isn’t Worth Gambling OnFuboTV’s management is free to engage in wishful thinking if they want to do so. This shouldn’t instill prospective investors with a false sense of hope, however.Sure, FUBO stock might get a boost from meme stock traders sometimes. Consider whether the sharp rallies are based on firm fundamentals, though, and whether they’re sustainable. All in all, investing in FuboTV now is a pure gamble based on hope and hype rather than hard financial The S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 indexes have gained 63% and 98% respectively, over the same period, further seeding disappointment in Pinterest as a public company. But the real injury has been suffered by investors in between its initial public offering (IPO) and today; shares are down as much as 72% from the highs; most investors in the company have lost value.Shares haven't fallen for no reason: Active users have declined as people have returned to in-person activities after the lockdowns at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. At recent prices, you can own that cash-generating business for a value-stock multiple of 22 times free cash flow. That's value-stock pricing for a strong, growing company.The Trade Desk is in the right business at the right timeParkev Tatevosian: The Trade Desk ( TTD 4.45% ) is a buy-side platform that enables digital ad purchases. In other words, it helps businesses looking to reach customers through digital channels like connected TVs, smartphones, and tablets. That's becoming increasingly important as consumers spend more and more time connected to the internet.The Trade Desk is riding that wave of momentum and has grown sales tenfold from 2015 to 2021. The trend is unlikely to reverse. First, consumers appreciate the benefits of a world where access to the internet is abundant. Streaming video content, music, and podcasts are popular. If anything, people want more material they can consume this way.Also, digital advertising is more efficient. Marketers can more accurately measure the results their spending is delivering. How many clicks did your ad generate? How many purchases? These can both be measured with some precision through digital channels. That's in stark contrast to non-digital media like newspapers, billboards, or cable TV. How many purchases did your TV commercial generate? You can get estimates, but with a wide margin of error.It's no surprise The Trade Desk grew revenue more than tenfold from $114 million in 2015 to $1.2 billion in 2021. To make The Trade Desk's stock more enticing right now, it's down 38% off its high, an opportunity that may not be around for long.This gaming stock could bounce back in a big wayKeith Noonan: CD Projekt ( OTGL.Y 1.82% ) is a mid-cap player in the gaming industry based out of Warsaw, Poland. The company is best known for The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077, and some might even say the developer is infamous for the latter title.Cyberpunk 2077 likely stands as one of the most hyped-up games of all time, but unfortunately the title was released with bugs and other shortcomings that resulted in it failing to meet critical and commercial expectations. The underperformance has caused the company's stock to fall roughly 67% from its high.At this point, it's fair to say that Cyberpunk 2077 has been a disappointment, but the good news is that the title might not go down that way over the long term. Thanks to downloadable content updates, video games have longer lifecycles than ever before, and it's possible for titles to bounce back from setbacks so long as subsequent updates deliver the goods.Consider that Epic Games' hugely successful Fortnite was actually something of a flop upon release. Here are three no-brainer stocks that have tanked in recent months you'd want to buy now and hold.The growth potential here is unmistakableCaught in the sell-off of growth stocks, Upstart Holdings stock has lost more than one-third its value this year, and a staggering 66% of its value in the past six months, as of this writing. It's true that Upstart stock ran up too high too fast, but it's also true that the company is growing rapidly and sitting on trillion-dollar opportunities. If you believe in Upstart's growth story, now's the time to buy.Upstart uses artificial intelligence to analyze more than 1,000 data points per borrower to screen them and assess the risks of lending. So while lenders like banks can use Upstart's services to originate low-risk loans, potential borrowers can get quick loans at low rates. It's a win-win for both sides. Much of the process is automated, and Upstart also doesn't have to bear credit risks as it doesn't lend money but only helps originate loans in return for a fee.Upstart's numbers for 2021 reveal stunning growth:Revenue up 264% to $849 million.Income from operations up 1,097% to $141 million.Net income up 2,164% to $135 million.Such high growth rates may not be sustainable, but Upstart won't stop growing given the markets it is targeting. After unsecured personal loans, Upstart has already entered auto loans and tapped top automakers like Volkswagen as initial clients. Upstart is aiming for small-dollar and small-business loans next, and expects to enter mortgage lending in 2023.The mortgage market alone is worth at least $4 trillion based on originations, while the auto loan market is worth more than $700 billion. That's massive, and one of the biggest reasons why Upstart stock looks so appealing right now.This megatrend could make early investors a fortuneIf you're ever stuck about where to start when it comes to investing, look out for megatrends, or structural shifts that could change the dynamics of an industry. Even better if the industry is critical to the economy. And then, find top players poised to ride the megatrend. Case in point: renewable energy and Brookfield Renewable Partners.In the U.S. alone, solar and wind accounted for 80% of all electricity capacity addition in 2020, up from under 30% in 2010, according to Statista. Brookfield Renewable is one of the world's largest pure-play renewable energy companies with a portfolio spanning hydropower, solar, wind, and battery storage operations across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.Brookfield Renewable earned record funds from operations (FFO) per unit in 2021 and ended the year with a whopping global development pipeline of 62 gigawatts (GW), including 15 GW in late-stage development. It also had $4.1 billion in liquidity at the end of 2021 to invest in growth. What I really like about the company, though, is its strategy to recycle capital, or simply sell assets as they mature and reinvest the proceeds opportunistically in assets with higher returns potential. Brookfield Renewable has executed well so far going by its FFO growth.With FFO, shareholder returns have risen too -- between 2013 and 2022, Brookfield Renewable's dividend grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6%.The company is targeting 5%-9% annual dividend growth in the long term, which when combined with Brookfield Renewable's 3% dividend yield almost assures you 8% returns right away if you own the stock. With the Russia-Ukraine conflict sending prices of oil and gas soaring and compelling more nations to shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy to secure future energy needs, the upside for Brookfield Renewable shares looks stronger than ever now.First mover in an industry with exponential growth potentialTeladoc Health is another stock that's been hammered but has solid growth potential. Teladoc is the world's largest telehealth company and offers virtual primary care as well as chronic disease management services.It's true that the COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the biggest drivers of the telehealth market, and that Teladoc's pace of growth will likely decelerate as economies open up. Yet, the global telehealth market was worth around $144.4 billion in 2020 according to Fortune Business Insights, and most research firms project it to grow by at least a 30% CAGR in the coming few years.TDOC data by YChartsTeladoc, on its part, expects revenue to grow at a CAGR of 25%-30% between 2021 and 2024. The company generated $2 billion in revenue in 2021, up 86% from 2020. Visits on its platform rose 38% to 15.4 million last year.After its bumper acquisition of chronic disease management company Livongo in 2020, Teladoc is now focused on other high-potential areas like mental healthcare and is targeting higher revenue per member through multiple product offers. There are a number of reasons for the recovery. Inflation and oil prices are coming down. The job market remains strong. Consumer confidence is rebounding, and corporate earnings were solid in the second quarter.Among the recent winners in the rebound is Amazon, which is up more than 40% from its bottom in June, helped by a stock split, improving consumer sentiment, a strong second-quarter earnings report, and two surprise acquisitions, One Medical and iRobot.After falling nearly 50% from its peak last year, investors may be wondering if the FAANG stock can keep up that momentum. From its current price, climbing to $200 would imply another 40% gain.The road to $200Amazon's second-quarter earnings report helped make the case for the stock to return to $200 as a number of tailwinds are emerging for it to keep gaining. After revenue growth slowed in the first half of the year due to difficult comparisons with 2021 when e-commerce growth was strong, the company expects revenue growth to accelerate to 13%-17% in the third quarter from 7% growth in the first half. On a constant currency basis, it's calling for 17% to 21% top-line growth in the current quarter.Through the first half of the year, Amazon has posted an operating loss of $5.2 billion in its e-commerce segments, but it has generally been profitable in recent years and should return to overall profitability, especially with the help of Prime Day in the third quarter and the holiday season in the fourth and as the company grows into excess capacity it built out during the pandemic. The company is also charging an incremental $0.35 for every item it ships for sellers on its marketplace,  which is likely to flow straight to the bottom line as sellers have little alternative but to pay it. That also shows that Amazon has pricing power in e-commerce both with its customer base and the millions of sellers who do business on its platform.While e-commerce gets much of the attention in the media and among customers, its cloud infrastructure business, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been the primary profit driver for years and continues to grow at an impressive pace. In the second quarter, AWS revenue rose 33% to $19.7 billion with a 29% operating margin. Demand for cloud services remains strong and should continue to propel Amazon's profits forward, which makes it the most important number for investors to watch.A question of when, not ifConsidering its expected profit growth from e-commerce and cloud computing, as well as businesses like advertising, Amazon will almost certainly reach $200 a share. However, the key question facing investors is when, and that will depend on how the broad market behaves. If the rebound we saw in recent weeks continues, Amazon could hit $200 before the end of the year. After all, this stock traded as high as $188 last year, so $200 would only represent a slight gain from its previous peak.If inflation persists, interest rates continue to climb, and consumer sentiment wanes, Amazon stock is likely to remain under pressure. It's a cyclical business and directly exposed to consumer discretionary spending and the health of the overall economy.Regardless of what happens in the short term though, Amazon should eventually reach $200. The company continues to gain market share in retail, build leverage in its marketplace, grow its cloud business, and innovate with new technologies.
