Like any influx of new participants to a larger marketplace (such as an increase in gamblers due to online waging or gig workers in a dynamic labor force), fledgling investors can have a big impact on the stock market.
\n
That doesn’t make them real traders, at least not yet, says Real Money contributor James “Rev Shark” DePorre.
\n
He writes: “It’s very easy for individuals with small amounts of money to trade stocks these days.
\n
“Yet many of the folks recently attracted to trading view it as just a form of gambling similar to sports betting. They rely primarily on luck, which can work well in the right environment, but it never lasts long. The great likelihood is that they will eventually give up or be wiped out as soon as the market goes through a deep corrective cycle.
\n
Some of these new market participants will evolve and become 'real' traders. They will learn a skill that will serve them well for the rest of their lives. They will eventually understand that trading can be so lucrative because it is hard to do, but persistence and effort pay off over time.”
\n
Real traders also succeed in boosting their account values on a regular basis, primarily by hitting a lot of singles and doubles, and avoiding swinging for the fences.
\n
Some new traders did profit from the GameStop (GME) and AMC Entertainment (AMC) sagas. But those who kept pushing the short squeeze strategy and hoping it would work by sheer luck soon found their market accounts empty and their experience trading on Wall Street a disappointing, or even devastating one. Like any influx of new participants to a larger marketplace (such as an increase in gamblers due to online waging or gig workers in a dynamic labor force), fledgling investors can have a big impact on the stock market.\nThat doesn’t make them real traders, at least not yet, says Real Money contributor James “Rev Shark” DePorre.\nHe writes: “It’s very easy for individuals with small amounts of money to trade stocks these days.\n“Yet many of the folks recently attracted to trading view it as just a form of gambling similar to sports betting. They rely primarily on luck, which can work well in the right environment, but it never lasts long. The great likelihood is that they will eventually give up or be wiped out as soon as the market goes through a deep corrective cycle.\nSome of these new market participants will evolve and become 'real' traders. They will learn a skill that will serve them well for the rest of their lives. They will eventually understand that trading can be so lucrative because it is hard to do, but persistence and effort pay off over time.”\nReal traders also succeed in boosting their account values on a regular basis, primarily by hitting a lot of singles and doubles, and avoiding swinging for the fences.\nSome new traders did profit from the GameStop (GME) and AMC Entertainment (AMC) sagas. But those who kept pushing the short squeeze strategy and hoping it would work by sheer luck soon found their market accounts empty and their experience trading on Wall Street a disappointing, or even devastating one. That, DePorre said, is highly unlikely to happen to a real stock trader.\nWhat experienced traders spend most of their time and effort on is managing their trades and controlling risk, he says. “One of the hardest things to do in trading is to build substantial positions at the right time.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":214,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":158499408,"gmtCreate":1625163495804,"gmtModify":1703737524533,"author":{"id":"4087827040017750","authorId":"4087827040017750","name":"Ncaa77","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/294ce5c94c0c805b91a16e86893499c5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087827040017750","authorIdStr":"4087827040017750"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Holy holy holy","listText":"Holy holy holy","text":"Holy holy holy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/158499408","repostId":"2148295558","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2148295558","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1625151197,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2148295558?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-01 22:53","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nio, XPeng Clock Record June Deliveries: Which EV Maker Outperformed?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2148295558","media":"Benzinga","summary":"The Chinese EV start-ups, Nio Inc. Historically low lending rates, dovish monetary policy, and a free-spending Capitol Hill (at least during the pandemic) have allowed fast-growing companies to thrive.
\n
Typically, it's smaller companies that generate some of the fastest sales growth, while large-cap stocks (those with market caps of at least $10 billion) grow at a more tempered pace. Larger companies are more likely to have time-tested or mature operating models, making it less common that they generate eye-popping revenue growth.
\n
However, the following large-cap stocks didn't get that memo. Each and every one of these companies is on track to, at minimum, quintuple their sales over a four-year period, according to Wall Street's consensus revenue estimate for 2024 (or fiscal 2025). You could rightly say that these are five of the fastest-growing large-cap stocks on the planet.
\n
\n
Sea Limited: Implied four-year sales growth of 400%
\n
Who said companies with market caps in excess of $100 billion can't grow like their smaller competitors? According to analysts, Singapore-based Sea Limited (NYSE:SE) is expected to see its full-year sales skyrocket from $4.39 billion in 2020 to about $21.9 billion in 2024. That works out to a quintupling in full-year revenue in four years.
\n
Sea's secret sauce (say that three times fast) is that it has three rapidly growing operating segments. For the moment, it's being anchored by its digital gaming operations. The company ended March with close to 649 million active users, 12.3% of which were paying to play. That's well above the industry average, and it's notably higher than the 8.9% of quarterly active users who were paying one year ago.
\n
However, the superstar for this company is its e-commerce platform, Shopee. It's the top shopping app downloaded in Southeastern Asia, and it's becoming especially popular in Brazil. In the first quarter of 2021, Shopee saw $12.6 billion in gross merchandise value (GMV) purchased. For some context here, Shopee did $10.3 billion in GMV in all of 2018. Historically low lending rates, dovish monetary policy, and a free-spending Capitol Hill (at least during the pandemic) have allowed fast-growing companies to thrive.\nTypically, it's smaller companies that generate some of the fastest sales growth, while large-cap stocks (those with market caps of at least $10 billion) grow at a more tempered pace. Larger companies are more likely to have time-tested or mature operating models, making it less common that they generate eye-popping revenue growth.\nHowever, the following large-cap stocks didn't get that memo. Each and every one of these companies is on track to, at minimum, quintuple their sales over a four-year period, according to Wall Street's consensus revenue estimate for 2024 (or fiscal 2025). You could rightly say that these are five of the fastest-growing large-cap stocks on the planet.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nSea Limited: Implied four-year sales growth of 400%\nWho said companies with market caps in excess of $100 billion can't grow like their smaller competitors? According to analysts, Singapore-based Sea Limited (NYSE:SE) is expected to see its full-year sales skyrocket from $4.39 billion in 2020 to about $21.9 billion in 2024. That works out to a quintupling in full-year revenue in four years.\nSea's secret sauce (say that three times fast) is that it has three rapidly growing operating segments. For the moment, it's being anchored by its digital gaming operations. The company ended March with close to 649 million active users, 12.3% of which were paying to play. That's well above the industry average, and it's notably higher than the 8.9% of quarterly active users who were paying one year ago.\nHowever, the superstar for this company is its e-commerce platform, Shopee. Both the coronavirus pandemic and the rise of the middle class throughout Southeastern Asia is driving online purchases.\nLastly, Sea has its rapidly growing digital financial services segment. More than 26 million people were paying for mobile wallet services at the end of March. Since the company targets a number of underbanked emerging markets, this digital financial services segment could be a major long-term growth driver.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nPlug Power: Implied four-year sales growth of 404%\nCompanies focused on renewable energy solutions should be among the fastest growing this decade.
