Of course, the company still needs to obtain the approval of shareholders -- the measure will be put to a vote at the annual meeting on Aug. 4 -- but many investors are already excited about the implications.While stock splits have no direct impact on business performance, they do reduce the price of each share, which makes the stock more accessible to retail investors. That occasionally translates into price appreciation, simply because new investors start buying. And with Tesla down 42% from its high, a post-split rebound probably sounds pretty good to shareholders.Unfortunately, stock splits don't always trigger price appreciation, and there are several other variables at play.Tesla is facing headwindsTesla was firing on all cylinders in the first quarter. Despite supply chain disruptions and the rising cost of materials, the company still managed to grow vehicle production and deliveries by 69% and 68%, respectively. In turn, Tesla once again topped the market in terms of electric car sales, capturing a 15.5% market share.That led to stellar first-quarter financial results. Revenue skyrocketed 81% to $18.8 billion,operating margin expanded more than 13 percentage points to 19.2%, andGAAPearnings soared more than sevenfold to $2.86 per diluted share. So why is the stock down?The market tends to be forward-looking, and investors are worried about what they see on the horizon. First, pandemic-related lockdowns in China resulted in a 22-day closure at Gigafactory Shanghai, and 18 of those days fell in the second quarter.Second, supply chain issues slowed the reopening of Gigafactory Shanghai, with production falling as low as 200 vehicles on at least one day in May, according to Reuters. For context, Tesla churned out about 1,200 vehicles per day in China in late April. Collectively, those issues may result in lower-than-expected production numbers for the second quarter.More broadly, many would-be buyers might delay purchasing a new car in the current macroeconomic environment. Rising interest rates make auto loans less attractive, and rampant inflationhas already led Tesla to raise its vehicle prices several times this year. In the near term, those headwinds could put downward pressure on Tesla's share price, especially if the company fails to impress Wall Street with its second-quarter results.Countless variables factor into a stock's price at any given moment, which makes it virtually impossible to forecast short-term price action. More importantly, splitting a stock is like cutting a cake. The number of slices has no impact on the desirability of the cake, and the number of shares has no impact on the value of the company.That being said, patient investors should consider picking up a few shares of Tesla right now.Tesla has an ambitious visionTesla has made tremendous progress in terms of manufacturing efficiency. The company posted an industry-leading operating margin of 14.6% in the third quarter of 2021, and that figure has only gone up from there. Better yet, Tesla is well-positioned to maintain or even improve its efficiency in the coming years.IMAGE SOURCE: TESLAThe company recently began outfitting the Model Y with 4680 battery cells, a proprietary product that promises to reduce production costs by 56% and boost range by 54%. That's especially impressive because Tesla already pays less than any other automaker to build its current battery packs, and battery packs are the most expensive part of an electric car. In other words, Tesla is working to reinforce its cost advantage.The company is also ramping production at the new Gigafactories in Austin, Texas, and Berlin, Germany. Those efforts will likely drag on margins in the near term, but a European presence should reduce logistics costs and make Tesla more profitable in the long run.However, Tesla's greatest source of profitability will eventually be full self-driving (FSD) technology, according to CEO Elon Musk. Tesla has a robotaxi slated for production in 2024, and it plans to start an autonomous ride hailing platform once its FSD software is ready for action.For context, Ark Invest believes autonomous ride hailing platforms will generate $2 trillion in annual profits by 2030. Of course, that number is theoretical at this point, but it supports Musk's assertion that FSD will be the long-term profit driver.Tesla currently trades at 96 times earnings, an outlandish valuation when compared to other automakers. But if the company successfully executes on its ambitious vision, the current share price may look like a bargain a decade down the road. For that reason, I think it's OK to buy this growth stock right now.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":888,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9984297888,"gmtCreate":1667637596145,"gmtModify":1676537947620,"author":{"id":"4088114426953000","authorId":"4088114426953000","name":"金钱袋01","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fcfe810767ab9edba4fd3048d353a712","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088114426953000","idStr":"4088114426953000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like pls","listText":"Like pls","text":"Like pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":12,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9984297888","repostId":"2281633463","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":742,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3579882572140125","authorId":"3579882572140125","name":"JoelLee","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e1f6c92b13d94cba61906c07dbbb2ab6","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"authorIdStr":"3579882572140125","idStr":"3579882572140125"},"content":"Z z z z da da wa wa","text":"Z z z z da da wa wa","html":"Z z z z da da wa wa"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9911832848,"gmtCreate":1664168647885,"gmtModify":1676537401843,"author":{"id":"4088114426953000","authorId":"4088114426953000","name":"金钱袋01","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fcfe810767ab9edba4fd3048d353a712","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088114426953000","idStr":"4088114426953000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":10,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9911832848","repostId":"2270412558","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":502,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":835037074,"gmtCreate":1629680726698,"gmtModify":1676530094688,"author":{"id":"4088114426953000","authorId":"4088114426953000","name":"金钱袋01","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fcfe810767ab9edba4fd3048d353a712","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088114426953000","idStr":"4088114426953000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like pls","listText":"Like pls","text":"Like pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":6,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/835037074","repostId":"2161747692","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":903,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":892974491,"gmtCreate":1628637487313,"gmtModify":1676529801831,"author":{"id":"4088114426953000","authorId":"4088114426953000","name":"金钱袋01","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fcfe810767ab9edba4fd3048d353a712","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088114426953000","idStr":"4088114426953000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like pls","listText":"Like pls","text":"Like pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/892974491","repostId":"2158035654","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2158035654","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1628636676,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2158035654?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-11 07:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Dow, S&P 500 close at records as U.S. infrastructure bill clears Senate","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2158035654","media":"Reuters","summary":"'Meme stock' AMC gives up early gains and closes down. Prices for used gaming cards have plunged. Young gamers who wanted a graphics card for years can now get one, at list prices and lower.But this good news is also bad news. The new supply, from broken crypto miners, is coming as production falls. There are reports Nvidia is cutting back orders from its manufacturing partner, Taiwan Semiconductor(NYSE:TSM).The result is that NVDA stock, which was at $286/share in April, traded recently below $144/share.Short Term WeaknessDuring the bull market, Nvidia was a ferociously expensive stock. Now it’s just pricey.At its July 5 price, the company’s market cap of $362 billion is still almost 39 times last year’s earnings, and over 13 times last year’s sales of $27 billion.The good news is that underestimates the company’s power. First-quarter revenue came in at$8.3 billion, up 46%from a year earlier. Non-GAAP earnings were also up 49% from a year ago. But costs from the cancelled acquisition of ARM Holdings meant GAAP earnings were down 16%.The problem is that investors buy tomorrow, not yesterday. If prices for gaming chips continue to fall, Nvidia’s list prices will as well. That will cut earnings because a lot of the company’s revenue still comes from gamers.Nvidia is due to report its current quarter on Aug. 24, for the three months ending in July. Analysts currently expect $1.03/share of earnings and$8.11 billion of revenue. Field reports of slowing demand, however, indicate it could fall short. The most recent chip stock to report, Micron Technologies(NASDAQ:MU), gave weak guidance. They’re expecting a storm. Nvidia’s ship is being tossed, too.Long Term StrengthAnalysts continue pounding the table for NVDA stock, even as they cut their price targets.The reason is that lower prices open huge new opportunities. Car makers can now bring those autonomous driving features to the market. Nvidia’s artificial intelligence software can now be offered as a service, with Hewlett Packard Enterprise(NYSE:HPE) bringing it to the network edge. Alphabet’s(NASDAQ:GOOGL) cloud gaming service, Stadia, may now be able to fulfill its promise with an Nvidia upgrade.Even while edge applications for Nvidia chips slow, like gaming and crypto, the cloud continues to grow. Data centers were the biggest buyers of Nvidia chips in the first quarter. Capital spending from the cloud czars, especially Google, Microsoft(NASDAQ:MSFT), and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), remains strong. Lower prices may just mean they’ll buy more Nvidia graphics chips for new applications. Eventually, cloud services at the network center will spur demand for support from the network edge, as prices for things like Meta Network(NASDAQ:FB) headsets come down. Meta, by the way, has been a big buyer of Nvidia chips for its “metaverse” activities.The Bottom Line for NVDA StockBear markets end.When they do, tech stocks will be the first to rise again. Companies like Nvidia make new money-saving ideas practical. They create new markets and growth. This has driven the economy forward for a half-century. It’s not changing.But bear markets also require patience. It’s easy to say, “buy the dip.” The problem right now is many investors have no cash with which to do that. That means the best advice is to hold your nerve.Nvidia may not rise again for several months. It may even go lower. No one is paying 13 times revenue for anything right now. The next few months may be brutal.The snapback, however, when it comes, will be something to behold. Despite the slower 23% YoY growth in U.S. government revenue, U.S. commercial revenue grew 53% YoY, while the commercial client base increased 124% YoY to 132 customers. This includes a $5 million FX impact, which seems rather minimal compared to most tech companies that derive a substantial portion of revenues from overseas. Palantir's revenue is largely U.S.-based, hence it is relatively safe from FX headwinds. Q4 adj. operating income is expected to be $79 million at the midpoint, implying an adj. EBIT margin of 15.7% vs. 12.4% consensus.

While most companies are either reducing outlooks or not providing forward guidance, Palantir actually reiterated its full year 2022 revenue guidance of $1.9 billion, including a small $6 million impact from FX headwinds. Why is this happening? The first issue is that investors are uncertain as to how to value the stock given top-line growth is expected to moderate to 16% in Q4 from 22%/26%/31% in Q3/Q2/Q1. Remember that one year ago, Palantir was a company growing its quarterly revenue at well over 40% YoY in an environment where GAAP (growth at any price) was the dominant theme for the investment community. This is no longer the case as the Fed has said many times that rates will stay high until inflation drops to the 2% policy target.

The recent post-earnings price action (-18%) from another high flyer like Cloudflare, Inc. When earnings are non-existent, there's really no way of judging the potential price levels at which markets will find valuation support when top-line growth slows down.

This is where Palantir's history of zero (or negative) profitability becomes a major problem, as the company has struggled to make money over the past 19 years. While management talked about terms like adjusted operating margin and free cash flow, these figures appear positive only because management wants analysts to add back a list of financial shenanigans. Stock-based compensation (SBC) is the magic number that could make the company "profitable."

Company data

In the first 9 months of 2022, Palantir's reported an actual loss from operations of $143 million (-10% EBIT margin) and net loss of over $400 million (-29% net margin). However, if we simply add back the $450 million in stock-based compensation plus the associated payroll taxes, Palantir is suddenly profitable, with an adjusted operating income of $306 million (22% adj. The company offers mission-critical software for the U.S. government and corporations in the private sector, but at the end of the day, investors are unlikely to get excited if these activities cannot be carried out at a profit. Let's also not forget that the CEO's ambition is to reach $4.5 billion in revenue by 2025, implying a 33% CAGR for Palantir in the next 3 years after 2022.With Palantir growth decelerating to just 16% in 4Q22 and potential uncertainty in federal spending in 2023, it'll be a painful process when expectations receive further adjustments to come in line with reality.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"PLTR":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":670,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9987165505,"gmtCreate":1667860708308,"gmtModify":1676537973769,"author":{"id":"4088114426953000","authorId":"4088114426953000","name":"金钱袋01","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fcfe810767ab9edba4fd3048d353a712","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088114426953000","idStr":"4088114426953000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":9,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9987165505","repostId":"2281414614","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2281414614","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1667835205,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2281414614?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-11-07 23:33","market":"us","language":"en","title":"2 Growth Stocks That Could Soar 133% to 226% From Their 52-Week Lows, According to Wall Street","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2281414614","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"These growth stocks have fallen sharply amid the bear market, but investors have good reason to be bullish on both companies.","content":"
\n
The stock market has crumbled this year. High inflation and rising interest rates have caused the S&P 500 to dive headlong into a bear market. The broad-based index is currently 21% off its high, but many individual growth stocks have fared even worse. For instance, Shopify and Global-e Online have seen their share prices tumble 80% and 73%, respectively, leaving both stocks near 52-week lows.However, some Wall Street analysts remain upbeat. Paul Treiber of RBC Capital has a price target on Shopify of $55 per share, 133% higher than its 52-week low of $23.63. And James Faucette of Morgan Stanley has a price target of $51 per share on Global-e Online, which implies 226% upside from its 52-week low of $15.63.Is it time to buy these growth stocks?Shopify: Omnichannel commerce made easyShopify is the central nervous system for over two million businesses. Its software simplifies commerce by enabling merchants to manage multiple sales channels from a single platform, including online marketplaces like Amazon, social media like Instagram, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) websites. Shopify also provides adjacent solutions for payment processing, financing, and marketing, among others.The company has struggled in the current economic environment. Revenue climbed just 22% to $1.4 billion in the third quarter, and the company posted an adjusted loss of $0.02 per share, compared to an adjusted profit of $0.08 per share last year. Worse yet, Shopify may continue to struggle until inflation normalizes and consumer spending rebounds. But these temporary headwinds are obscuring its true potential. In fact, RBC analyst Paul Treiber recently called Shopify \"one of the most compelling long-term growth stories.\"According to G2 Grid, Shopify is the most popular e-commerce software in terms of market presence, and Shopify Plus -- its commerce suite for larger companies -- is the second most popular platform. That success stems from its support for omnichannel commerce. While marketplace operators herd sellers onto one platform, Shopify helps brands grow across virtually any channel. That includes brick-and-mortar stores and D2C websites, which gives brands complete control over the buyer experience -- something they lack on a marketplace like Amazon -- and can increase the odds of lasting customer relationships.That means Shopify is set to capitalize on a large and growing addressable market. E-commerce sales worldwide are expected to increase 10% annually to reach $7.4 trillion by 2025, according to eMarketer. Better yet, Shopify has a particularly strong foothold in North America. It powered 10.3% of retail e-commerce sales in the U.S. last year -- second only to Amazon -- and that market is expected to grow 12% annually to reach $1.5 trillion by 2025.Currently, shares trade at about 8.5 times sales, an absolute bargain compared to the three-year average of over 36 times sales. That creates a compelling buying opportunity, though investors shouldn't expect triple-digit returns in the next year. The macroeconomic environment is far too uncertain to warrant that type of near-term optimism.Global-e Online: Cross-border e-commerce made easyGlobal-e simplifies cross-border e-commerce by helping merchants optimize their digital stores for international buyers. The Global-e platform localizes details like language, currency, and payment options, and it surfaces data-driven insights to help merchants understand shopper behavior on a market-by-market basis. Those services boost international conversion rates, often by more than 60%, according to the company.Additionally, Global-e provides fulfillment services through a partner network of shipping carriers, and it offers support for returns and customer service. Better yet, its platform removes much of the regulatory complexity associated with international expansion by helping merchants calculate and pay import duties and foreign sales tax. In a nutshell, Global-e makes it easy for businesses to move into new markets, and that value proposition has the company growing like gangbusters.In the second quarter, Global-e saw gross merchandise volume (GMV) soar 64% to $534 million as more brands joined the platform. That feat is particularly impressive given the state of the global economy. In turn, quarterly revenue jumped 52% to $87 million, and the company posted positive free cash flow (FCF) of $30 million. That equates to an impressive FCF margin of 34%.Better yet, investors have good reason to believe that momentum will continue. Cross-border e-commerce sales will total $736 billion in 2023, according to Forrester Research, but Global-e handled just $990 million in GMV through the first half of 2022. That puts the company in front of a massive opportunity, and management has set in motion a strong growth strategy. For instance, Global-e powers Shopify Markets Pro, a sophisticated cross-border solution that makes it possible for Shopify merchants to expand into more than 150 markets overnight.Currently, shares trade at just over 11 times sales, a discount to the historic average of nearly 25. That's why investors should consider buying this growth stock, though Global-e is best viewed as a long-term investment. Triple-digit returns are in the cards but only with enough time for the company to expand into its huge market.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GLBE":0.9,"SHOP":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1160,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
