Not long ago, the talk on Wall Street was all about the tech giant’s uncharacteristically underperforming stock, especially when compared to some of the other mega-caps’ displays in 2021.\nWith shares hitting an all-time high this week and the gap in performance narrowing over the past month, that conversation can now be put to rest.\nThe uptick has coincided with reports Apple has boosted the production rate of its iPhones, instructing manufacturers to build 90 million iPhones this year, a 20% increase on the 75 million units it produced last year.\nThe renewed optimism in all things Apple is not surprising to J.P. Morgan’s Samik Chatterjee. The analyst recently told investors Apple is well set up to outperform in 2H21. In fact, the growing confidence means Chatterjee has added Apple to the firm’s Analyst Focus List as “a Growth idea.”\n“The recent momentum led by better market share, drives us to also estimate higher sustainable volumes in future quarters, leading us to see a path to Apple outperforming investor expectations over a longer time horizon rather than just the upcoming earnings print,” the 5-star analyst said, confirming Apple is also a Top Pick.\nTo reflect the increase in build rates, Chatterjee has “modestly” increased iPhone volume expectations, but of more importance to the analyst is the “path to upside” for the shares in the medium-term.\nThis is because of the potential for better iPhone 12 sales but also due to what Chatterjee considers are low expectations from the iPhone 13’s fall launch, which could create “another leg to the upside opportunity.”\nIt’s a potent mix which is given additional allure with the launch of the iPhone SE3 next year and means Apple can “not only pleasantly surprise with a more robust iPhone 13 cycle, but also has the opportunity to drive material upside to consensus expectations for FY22.”\nTo this end, Chatterjee rates Apple shares an Overweight (i.e. Buy), while slightly lifting the price target from $170 to $175. The revised figure implying shares will add 19.5% from current levels.\nSo, that’s J.P. Morgan’s view, what does the rest of the Street have in mind for Apple? Based on 20 Buys, 5 Holds and 2 Sells, the stock currently has a Moderate Buy consensus rating. The forecast is for shares to appreciate by 8% over the coming months, given the average price target clocks in at $158.62.\nTo find good ideas for tech stocks trading at attractive valuations, visit TipRanks’ Best Stocks to Buy, a newly launched tool that unites all of TipRanks’ equity insights.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":256,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"4088329958096830","authorId":"4088329958096830","name":"VIN_C","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b8f53d2bbe39cc33cf781c1f61e8ad86","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"4088329958096830","authorIdStr":"4088329958096830"},"content":"$200 first target. i see apple to growth much stronger until another product comes into life","text":"$200 first target. i see apple to growth much stronger until another product comes into life","html":"$200 first target. i see apple to growth much stronger until another product comes into life"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":838405819,"gmtCreate":1629422430331,"gmtModify":1676530034643,"author":{"id":"4088329958096830","authorId":"4088329958096830","name":"VIN_C","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b8f53d2bbe39cc33cf781c1f61e8ad86","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088329958096830","authorIdStr":"4088329958096830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$Solid if close 11.7 and above","listText":"$OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$Solid if close 11.7 and above","text":"$OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$Solid if close 11.7 and above","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/838405819","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":698,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":833427069,"gmtCreate":1629257108251,"gmtModify":1676529982021,"author":{"id":"4088329958096830","authorId":"4088329958096830","name":"VIN_C","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b8f53d2bbe39cc33cf781c1f61e8ad86","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088329958096830","authorIdStr":"4088329958096830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$Nice rebound today. Healthcare stocks suffered the largest percentage decline.\nChipmakers Nvidia Corp and Applied Materials rose 1.9% and 1.2%, respectively, and along with mega-cap growth stocks Alphabet Inc, Tesla Inc and Facebook Inc, provided the biggest boost to the Nasdaq.\nNordstrom Inc tumbled 17.6% after the department store operator posted a 6% decline in quarterly revenue from pre-pandemic levels.\nDick’s Sporting Goods Inc announced a special dividend and raised its annual sales and profit forecast, sending its shares surging 13.3%.\nAdvancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 1.49-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.31-to-1 ratio favored advancers.\nThe S&P 500 posted 63 new 52-week highs and one new low; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 125 new highs and 33 new lows.\nVolume on U.S. exchanges was 8.29 billion shares, compared with the 9.00 billion average over the last 20 trading days.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":523,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":176772590,"gmtCreate":1626918504010,"gmtModify":1703480546019,"author":{"id":"4088329958096830","authorId":"4088329958096830","name":"VIN_C","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b8f53d2bbe39cc33cf781c1f61e8ad86","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088329958096830","authorIdStr":"4088329958096830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ya[Happy] ","listText":"Ya[Happy] ","text":"Ya[Happy]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/176772590","repostId":"2153477496","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2153477496","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1626899252,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2153477496?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-22 04:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street ends higher, powered by strong earnings, economic cheer","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2153477496","media":"Reuters","summary":"NEW YORK, July 21 (Reuters) - Wall Street stocks posted their second straight daily gain on Wednesda","content":"
NEW YORK, July 21 (Reuters) - Wall Street stocks posted their second straight daily gain on Wednesday, with robust corporate earnings and renewed optimism about the U.S. economic recovery fueling a risk-on rally.
\n
All three major U.S. stock indexes added to their previous session's advance, placing all three within 1% of their all-time closing highs.
\n
Economically sensitive smallcaps , semiconductors and financials outperformed the broader market.
\n
\"It’s a seesaw going on between great earnings and a recovering market and concerns over whether the economy is going to slow down because of the (COVID-19) Delta variant,\" said Peter Tuz, president of Chase Investment Counsel in Charlottesville, Virginia. \"But we’re seeing strong earnings with generally positive guidance, and the feeling that (the Delta variant) can be managed.\"
\n
A rebound in travel helped fuel United Airlines' revenue beat, boosting its stock by 3.8%.
\n
The S&P 1500 Airlines index gained 3.3%, while the S&P 1500 Hotels, Restaurant and Leisure index advanced 2.9%.
\n
\"Earlier in the week those stocks suffered because of renewed fears that travel will slow down and all related industries will suffer, but those fears have gone away,\" Tuz added. \"Demand is continuing as expected, I don’t think the Delta fear is causing people to change their plans.\"
\n
Benchmark U.S. Treasury yields continued their bounce from five-month lows following a weak 20-year bond auction, which benefited rate-sensitive banks.
\n
Wrangling in Washington over the passage of a bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure package progressed as Senate Democrats moved toward a planned procedural vote despite Republican appeals for a delay.
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 286.01 points, or 0.83%, to 34,798, the S&P 500 gained 35.63 points, or 0.82%, to 4,358.69 and the Nasdaq Composite added 133.08 points, or 0.92%, to 14,631.95.
\n
Of the 11 major sectors in the S&P 500, energy stocks
\n
were the big winners, jumping 3.5% with the help of surging crude prices .
\n
Second-quarter reporting season has shifted into overdrive, with 73 of the companies in the S&P 500 having posted results. A similar investment in Jabil would be worth close to $2,700 now. The good part is that both companies could at least equal, if not outperform, their stellar gains in the coming years. Let's take a look at the reasons why it still makes sense to invest $1,000 in these tech stocks.
\n
Qorvo: Riding the 5G wave
\n
Qorvo is benefiting from multiple hot tech trends right now, but its biggest catalyst remains the 5G smartphone market. The chipmaker's revenue in fiscal 2021 (which ended on April 3) shot up 24% year over year to $4.02 billion. It finished the year with a gross profit margin of 46.9%, up substantially over the prior year's figure of 40.8%.
\n
Qorvo credited the \"higher demand for our 5G mobile solutions, 5G base station products, and Wi-Fi products\" for this impressive showing. The good news is that all these verticals are still in their early phases of growth. For instance, 5G smartphone shipments are expected to jump from an estimated 239 million units in 2020 to 1.12 billion units by 2025, according to Taiwan-based Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute.
\n

\n
\n
With Qorvo getting just over 71% of its total revenue from the mobile products segment last quarter, the 5G smartphone boom is going to move the needle significantly for the company. After all, the chipmaker supplies its wireless components to the leading players in the 5G smartphone space, including Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). The iPhone maker produced 30% of Qorvo's total revenue last fiscal year.
\n
This sizable reliance on Apple is a good thing for Qorvo as the tech giant is on fire in the 5G smartphone era. The iPhone 12 has been a runaway hit among consumers looking to make the move to a 5G device from their older iPhones, and there are at least 800 million customers in Apple's installed base that have yet to make the move to 5G. As a result, Apple is going to be a long-term catalyst for Qorvo's mobile business thanks to the massive iPhone volume opportunity at hand.
\n
Its relationship with other smartphone OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) such as Samsung and Xiaomi will also come in handy in the long run, as these companies are dominant players in the 5G smartphone market along with Apple.
\n
More importantly, the improved 5G smartphone volumes will help Qorvo generate faster revenue and earnings growth. That's because the radio-frequency (RF) content in mid-range 5G smartphones is doubling over their 4G predecessors, while high-end devices are witnessing an additional $5 to $7 in wireless content.
\n
Thanks to the 5G tailwind, Qorvo is anticipated to record 16% annual earnings growth for the next five years, up from the 6% annual growth seen in the last five years. This makes it an attractive growth stock to buy right now at 29.7 times trailing earnings, which is lower than the Nasdaq 100 Index's rich multiple we saw earlier.
\n
Jabil: Diverse growth drivers should lead to better times
\n
Jabil has made a fine comeback this year after the novel coronavirus pandemic derailed the company's growth in 2020. The contract electronics manufacturer delivered a solid third-quarter earnings report in June, recording 14% year-over-year revenue growth to $7.2 billion. Non-GAAP earnings had shot up to $1.30 per share during the quarter from $0.37 per share a year ago.
\n
Even better, Jabil upgraded its full-year guidance on the back of impressive momentum in the cloud, mobility, semiconductor, automotive, and connected devices markets. These end markets are on track to grow nicely for Jabil this year and beyond.
\n
In mobility, for instance, Jabil expects $4.1 billion in revenue this fiscal year, up 24% over fiscal 2020. That's not surprising as 20% of the company's total revenue comes from manufacturing casings for Apple's iPhone and iPad. We have already seen that Apple's 5G iPhones are selling like hotcakes, and they can keep doing so thanks to an upgrade supercycle that's currently playing out. This should rub off positively on Jabil's prospects as well since it has a close relationship with Apple.
\n
However, Jabil draws its revenue from a wider number of verticals. The automotive and transportation segment, for example, is expected to deliver $2.2 billion in revenue this year, up 29% from last year. This business seems to have solid long-term potential as the global automotive contract manufacturing space is expected to clock 7.2% annual growth through 2027, according to a third-party estimate.
\n
Similarly, Jabil provides contract manufacturing services to connected device manufacturers, semiconductor capital equipment makers, cloud computing customers, and networking and storage providers, among others. Grand View Research estimates that the global contract electronics manufacturing market could be worth $800 billion by 2027 as compared to $417 billion at the end of 2019.
\n
Not surprisingly, Jabil's bottom line is expected to grow at nearly 20% per year for the next five years, as it seems to be on track to take advantage of the huge end-market opportunity that lies ahead. And now would be a great time to buy this tech stock as it is trading at just 14 times trailing earnings, which makes it way cheaper than the indexes discussed earlier. What's more, Jabil's forward earnings multiple of just 9.3 makes it even more attractive, giving investors another great reason to consider putting $1,000 in the stock.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Got $1,000? Let's find out a bit more about these three stocks.
\n
\n
1. Activision Blizzard
\n
Activision Blizzard owns eight franchises that have achieved at least $1 billion in lifetime bookings. It's best known for making one of the most-played first-person shooters on the market in Call of Duty. A $1,000 investment in Activision stock in 2003, right after the first Call of Duty title was released, would be worth nearly $30,000 today.
\n
The Call of Duty franchise continues to grow. It's included in the company's Activision segment, which reached a record 150 million monthly active users (MAUs) in the first quarter. With seven other major franchises under its umbrella, Activision Blizzard sees an opportunity to improve those titles to more than double its MAUs to 1 billion.
\n
Making big-budget video game titles does require investing in thousands of employees and can involve significant marketing expenses, but many other aspects of production are not as capital intensive when compared to other industries. This allows top game companies that can sell millions of copies of new releases to produce robust amounts of free cash flow. Over the past four quarters, Activision Blizzard generated $2.8 billion in free cash flow on $8.5 billion in revenue.
\n
It pays out less than a fifth of that free cash flow in dividends, bringing the current dividend yield to 0.52%. There's clearly potential for Activision to safely double or triple that yield by increasing the payout ratio over time.
\n
Activision Blizzard owns several franchises that each have a built-in base of millions of fans, including World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. The company is well stocked with cash, with $9.3 billion on the balance sheet, which should provide plenty of capital to continue reinvesting for growth.
\n
2. Electronic Arts
\n
Electronic Arts is known for its EA Sports titles, most notably Madden and FIFA. EA added 42 million new players to its network during the pandemic. It has a total of 230 million players and viewers, but management is targeting 500 million over the next five years.
\n
Most importantly, EA has demonstrated the ability to bring out new hits. The free-to-play shooter Apex Legends launched in 2019 and recently surpassed $1 billion in bookings. EA also revealed plans earlier this year to relaunch its previous NCAA Football franchise under the new title EA Sports College Football, which should be released within the next few years.
\n
EA's success in growing its sports business in recent years has left it with lots of cash to reinvest. It entered fiscal 2022 with $6.3 billion of cash and investments and has already put that to work. So far this year, EA has spent a combined $4.7 billion to buy Glu Mobile, Codemasters, and Playdemic. These studios bring their own game development prowess and popular titles to accelerate EA's expansion into mobile.
\n
In fiscal 2021, EA's free cash flow came to $1.8 billion on $5.6 billion of revenue. EA started paying a dividend within the last year, which signals management's confidence in its growth strategy. The quarterly dividend amounts to $0.17 per share, bringing the current dividend yield to 0.48%. The company's growing sports lineup and willingness to return capital to shareholders makes it a top video game stock to consider buying.
\n
3. Tencent
\n
Tencent is the largest video game company in the world by revenue and also operates the popular WeChat social media platform in China. It owns Riot Games, the operator of one of the top esports titles in the world in League of Legends. It also has ownership stakes in several other companies, including Epic Games and Activision Blizzard.
\n
Gaming makes up 29% of its annual revenue, with online advertising, fintech, and business services composing most of the balance. Market corrections are par for the course when investing in stocks, but that same history shows these downturns lay the foundation for great returns afterward.\nIf you've been thinking about buying shares of a video game stock, the next market pullback would be a great buying opportunity. Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI), Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA), and Tencent (OTC:TCEHY) are cash-rich leaders in the burgeoning video game industry that can deliver market-beating returns over the long term. Let's find out a bit more about these three stocks.\nImage source: Getty Images.\n1. Activision Blizzard\nActivision Blizzard owns eight franchises that have achieved at least $1 billion in lifetime bookings. It's best known for making one of the most-played first-person shooters on the market in Call of Duty. A $1,000 investment in Activision stock in 2003, right after the first Call of Duty title was released, would be worth nearly $30,000 today.\nThe Call of Duty franchise continues to grow. It's included in the company's Activision segment, which reached a record 150 million monthly active users (MAUs) in the first quarter. With seven other major franchises under its umbrella, Activision Blizzard sees an opportunity to improve those titles to more than double its MAUs to 1 billion.\nMaking big-budget video game titles does require investing in thousands of employees and can involve significant marketing expenses, but many other aspects of production are not as capital intensive when compared to other industries. This allows top game companies that can sell millions of copies of new releases to produce robust amounts of free cash flow. Over the past four quarters, Activision Blizzard generated $2.8 billion in free cash flow on $8.5 billion in revenue.\nIt pays out less than a fifth of that free cash flow in dividends, bringing the current dividend yield to 0.52%. There's clearly potential for Activision to safely double or triple that yield by increasing the payout ratio over time.\nActivision Blizzard owns several franchises that each have a built-in base of millions of fans, including World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. The company is well stocked with cash, with $9.3 billion on the balance sheet, which should provide plenty of capital to continue reinvesting for growth.\n2. Electronic Arts\nElectronic Arts is known for its EA Sports titles, most notably Madden and FIFA. EA added 42 million new players to its network during the pandemic. It has a total of 230 million players and viewers, but management is targeting 500 million over the next five years.\nMost importantly, EA has demonstrated the ability to bring out new hits. The free-to-play shooter Apex Legends launched in 2019 and recently surpassed $1 billion in bookings. EA also revealed plans earlier this year to relaunch its previous NCAA Football franchise under the new title EA Sports College Football, which should be released within the next few years.\nEA's success in growing its sports business in recent years has left it with lots of cash to reinvest. It entered fiscal 2022 with $6.3 billion of cash and investments and has already put that to work. So far this year, EA has spent a combined $4.7 billion to buy Glu Mobile, Codemasters, and Playdemic. These studios bring their own game development prowess and popular titles to accelerate EA's expansion into mobile.\nIn fiscal 2021, EA's free cash flow came to $1.8 billion on $5.6 billion of revenue. EA started paying a dividend within the last year, which signals management's confidence in its growth strategy. The quarterly dividend amounts to $0.17 per share, bringing the current dividend yield to 0.48%. The company's growing sports lineup and willingness to return capital to shareholders makes it a top video game stock to consider buying.\n3. Tencent\nTencent is the largest video game company in the world by revenue and also operates the popular WeChat social media platform in China. It owns Riot Games, the operator of one of the top esports titles in the world in League of Legends. It also has ownership stakes in several other companies, including Epic Games and Activision Blizzard.\nGaming makes up 29% of its annual revenue, with online advertising, fintech, and business services composing most of the balance. But gaming is Tencent's largest business segment. It's the diversity of revenue streams across fast-growing markets, including gaming and cloud services, that make it a stock worth keeping on your radar.\nOver the last four quarters, Tencent generated $18.5 billion in free cash flow. It has $39 billion of dry powder on the balance sheet, in addition to a portfolio of investees that was worth over $200 billion in the first quarter. That's a lot of firepower.\nTencent compares the current state of the video game industry to the movie business in the 1930s, and it's investing to maintain its leadership status. Last year, management announced a deep pipeline of 40 new titles, including internally developed and licensed games in development. It's particularly focusing on where gamers are spending more time, which is with big-budget, immersive gaming experiences.\n\"The development speed, scale, range, and depth of information technology is much greater than the last Industrial Revolution,\" said Senior Vice President Steven Ma. \"This brings unimaginable opportunities for games and the space is almost limitless.\"\nHowever, investors should note the risks of investing in Chinese companies. Tencent has come under scrutiny by regulators that have cracked down on \"inappropriate\" content in the company's games, but Tencent has been able to navigate through these obstacles and deliver market-beating returns to investors. The stock price has fallen recently, which can be chalked up to regulatory issues and near-term investments in the business that will pressure profitability this year.
