But, what if we could use options to manufacture our own dividend?&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Let's say I have $45,000 that I want to invest in TSLA stock. I could simply buy some shares and hope the stock rises.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>But, if I want a more conservative play, I could sell a March 18, 2022-expiring put with a strike price of 450 and set aside the $45,000 in case I am assigned on the short put.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>That 450 strike put generates around $2,680 in option premium in just under eight months.&nbsp;So, my $45,000 investment into Tesla is giving me a 10.14% annualized \"dividend.\" What's the catch? Well, much like owning Tesla shares, if the stock keeps dropping, I'm going to lose money in the short-term.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If Tesla stock is below 450 next March, then I will be forced to buy 100 shares at 450 each.&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>10% Annualized Return If Put Expires Worthless</h3>\n<p>But, if TSLA stays above 450, then I achieve a 10.14% per annum return when the put expires worthless.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Cash secured puts are a bullish strategy but are considered slightly less bullish than owning Tesla stock because the potential gains are limited to the premium received.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The 450 strike put currently has a delta of 9, so selling this put gives you an exposure roughly equivalent to owning nine shares of Tesla stock, although this will change as the stock moves up and down.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>One method that can help cut the risk is to turn it into a spread and buy a $250 strike put. But, what if we could use options to manufacture our own dividend?&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Let's say I have $45,000 that I want to invest in TSLA stock. I could simply buy some shares and hope the stock rises.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>But, if I want a more conservative play, I could sell a March 18, 2022-expiring put with a strike price of 450 and set aside the $45,000 in case I am assigned on the short put.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>That 450 strike put generates around $2,680 in option premium in just under eight months.&nbsp;So, my $45,000 investment into Tesla is giving me a 10.14% annualized \"dividend.\" What's the catch? Well, much like owning Tesla shares, if the stock keeps dropping, I'm going to lose money in the short-term.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If Tesla stock is below 450 next March, then I will be forced to buy 100 shares at 450 each.&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>10% Annualized Return If Put Expires Worthless</h3>\n<p>But, if TSLA stays above 450, then I achieve a 10.14% per annum return when the put expires worthless.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Cash secured puts are a bullish strategy but are considered slightly less bullish than owning Tesla stock because the potential gains are limited to the premium received.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The 450 strike put currently has a delta of 9, so selling this put gives you an exposure roughly equivalent to owning nine shares of Tesla stock, although this will change as the stock moves up and down.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>One method that can help cut the risk is to turn it into a spread and buy a $250 strike put. Well, much like owning Tesla shares, if the stock keeps dropping, I'm going to lose money in the short-term.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If Tesla stock is below 450 next March, then I will be forced to buy 100 shares at 450 each.&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>10% Annualized Return If Put Expires Worthless</h3>\n<p>But, if TSLA stays above 450, then I achieve a 10.14% per annum return when the put expires worthless.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Cash secured puts are a bullish strategy but are considered slightly less bullish than owning Tesla stock because the potential gains are limited to the premium received.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The 450 strike put currently has a delta of 9, so selling this put gives you an exposure roughly equivalent to owning nine shares of Tesla stock, although this will change as the stock moves up and down.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>One method that can help cut the risk is to turn it into a spread and buy a $250 strike put. But, what if we could use options to manufacture our own dividend?&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Let's say I have $45,000 that I want to invest in TSLA stock. I could simply buy some shares and hope the stock rises.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>But, if I want a more conservative play, I could sell a March 18, 2022-expiring put with a strike price of 450 and set aside the $45,000 in case I am assigned on the short put.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>That 450 strike put generates around $2,680 in option premium in just under eight months.&nbsp;So, my $45,000 investment into Tesla is giving me a 10.14% annualized \"dividend.\" What's the catch? Well, much like owning Tesla shares, if the stock keeps dropping, I'm going to lose money in the short-term.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If Tesla stock is below 450 next March, then I will be forced to buy 100 shares at 450 each.&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>10% Annualized Return If Put Expires Worthless</h3>\n<p>But, if TSLA stays above 450, then I achieve a 10.14% per annum return when the put expires worthless.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Cash secured puts are a bullish strategy but are considered slightly less bullish than owning Tesla stock because the potential gains are limited to the premium received.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The 450 strike put currently has a delta of 9, so selling this put gives you an exposure roughly equivalent to owning nine shares of Tesla stock, although this will change as the stock moves up and down.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>One method that can help cut the risk is to turn it into a spread and buy a $250 strike put. Analysts had expected 43.1% growth in Azure, according to consensus data from Visible Alpha.</p>\n<p>“It’s a very impressive report from Microsoft with the company easily surpassing expectations on the performance of almost all business units,” said Haris Anwar, senior analyst at Investing.com.</p>\n<p>He noted Azure’s growth and strong demand for the company’s legacy Office and software products.</p>\n<p>“That said, Microsoft’s stock has made a big run since the beginning of the pandemic, and is trading at rich multiples,” Anwar said. “After such a powerful rally, its shares may take a breather, especially when investors are still unclear how the demand scenario will evolve in the post-pandemic environment.”</p>\n<p>Microsoft’s market capitalization stands at nearly $2.2 trillion, fueling concerns among some analysts that it may be overvalued. The stock has climbed nearly 30% so far this year, compared with 18% for the overall S&amp;P 500 Index, according to Refinitiv Eikon data based on Monday’s closing price.</p>\n<p>Revenue from personal computing, which includes Windows software and Xbox gaming consoles, rose 9% to $14.1 billion.</p>\n<p>But Xbox content and services revenue dipped, suggesting that a pandemic-fueled gaming boom is beginning to wane, said Paolo Pescatore, an analyst at PP Foresight. Mr. Clarida’s commentary suggested that economic conditions are on track to strengthen considerably, so much so that a possible taper timeline announcement is likely warranted later this year. The seasoned economist did acknowledge the growing threat posed by the highly transmissible Delta variant.</p>\n<p>Still, market participants pushed the US Dollar higher as already hawkish Fed bets intensified. The Greenback’s strength dragged gold prices lower. The yellow metal typically weakens when the Greenback strengthens due to higher holding costs for foreign investors. Gold is also seen as an inflation hedge to some, although that function is still up for debate in many circles. Consider that true, however, and the accelerated view of Fed tightening likely works to the detriment of gold prices. That is because higher interest rates typically tame rising prices.</p>\n<p>The current focus for gold likely isn’t on inflation, though. Besides, the market has largely capitulated to the Fed’s transitory view on rising prices. The big driver on the horizon for gold prices, and markets overall, is this Friday’s non-farm payrolls report (NFPs). Analysts are expecting a print of 870k jobs for July. Given the Fed’s focus on the labor market, the data print relative to the consensus view will likely be vital to monetary policy bets. With this in mind, a better-than-expected NFP print is likely to weigh on gold prices by driving USD strength. Alternatively, a miss may benefit the yellow metal.</p>\n<h3><b>GOLD TECHNICAL OUTLOOK</b></h3>\n<p>XAU prices were looking higher earlier this week but failed to sustain above the 50- and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA). The falling 50-day SMA has capped the upside over the past couple of weeks, and now a Death Cross appears to be on the horizon. Mr. Clarida’s commentary suggested that economic conditions are on track to strengthen considerably, so much so that a possible taper timeline announcement is likely warranted later this year. The seasoned economist did acknowledge the growing threat posed by the highly transmissible Delta variant.\nStill, market participants pushed the US Dollar higher as already hawkish Fed bets intensified. The Greenback’s strength dragged gold prices lower. The yellow metal typically weakens when the Greenback strengthens due to higher holding costs for foreign investors. Gold is also seen as an inflation hedge to some, although that function is still up for debate in many circles. Consider that true, however, and the accelerated view of Fed tightening likely works to the detriment of gold prices. That is because higher interest rates typically tame rising prices.\nThe current focus for gold likely isn’t on inflation, though. Besides, the market has largely capitulated to the Fed’s transitory view on rising prices. The big driver on the horizon for gold prices, and markets overall, is this Friday’s non-farm payrolls report (NFPs). Analysts are expecting a print of 870k jobs for July. Given the Fed’s focus on the labor market, the data print relative to the consensus view will likely be vital to monetary policy bets. With this in mind, a better-than-expected NFP print is likely to weigh on gold prices by driving USD strength. Alternatively, a miss may benefit the yellow metal.\nGOLD TECHNICAL OUTLOOK\nXAU prices were looking higher earlier this week but failed to sustain above the 50- and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA).
