The company earns revenue through in-app purchases voluntarily made by its users. This freemium model has helped the company attract 49.4 million daily active users (as of November). That&#39;s 35% higher than in the same month in 2020. User engagement and new signups surged for Roblox at the pandemic onset when millions of kids were sent home for remote learning, and extracurricular activities were paused. Despite economies reopening and schools bringing kids back to campus, Roblox has sustained its user growth rates. That&#39;s impressive.</p><p>If users wish to access certain items and activities on the platform, they do so by spending Robux, an in-game currency that is purchased with real money. The company records revenue when users spend Robux in the game. In its most recently reported quarter, ended Sept. 30, Roblox earned $509 million in revenue. That total was up by 102% from the same quarter in 2020. In fact, Roblox has doubled revenue year over year in each of the previous four quarters.</p><p>Roblox in-house developers do not create most of the games and items that players spend Robux on. Instead, Roblox has a community of third-party developers who spend their time and resources using the platform to create unique experiences, gameplay, and objects they think players will enjoy. This business model lowers the development costs for Roblox and it also lowers one of the biggest risks involved with game development -- the cost of developing an unpopular game. The user-developers take on the risk and only get their share of the compensation if the game attracts user engagement and Robux spending. Only proven hits that generate engagement make money.</p><p>The model is proving to be effective at generating cash flow for Roblox. While Roblox isnot profitable on the bottom line, it is earning a growing stream of free cash flow. It has put together a streak of five consecutive quarters where its free cash flow surpassed $100 million. That&#39;s remarkably higher than in all of 2019, when it earned less than $15 million in free cash flow.</p><p>The one metric for Roblox that shows anysigns of slowing downdue to economic reopening is the average booking per daily active user. Booking is the equivalent of a cash deposit. This is money that players are putting onto Roblox to buy Robux, but they have not used it just yet. In its most recent update, Roblox said the average booking per daily active user declined between 8% to 9% from the same month the prior year. A decrease in deposits could foreshadow decreasing year-over-year revenue.</p><p>Interestingly, the metaverse is a place where individuals can virtually interact with each other and their environment. Roblox platform is an early-stage version of this. &#34;Metaverse&#34; means different things to different people, and the way users of Roblox interact with each other through the program already fits at least one of these definitions. But there is more it can do, and Roblox management is working with in-house and outside developers to see where it can go with this trend. Of course, the quality of this experience is improved the more immersive it feels. History tells us that whether the market is up or down in any given year is essentially a coin toss. Tesla</h2><p>CEO Elon Musk has often said manufacturing efficiency would be Tesla&#39;s long-term advantage, and the company is making good on that notion. Its theoretical annual production capacity now exceeds 1 million electric vehicles (EVs), and despite headwinds created by chip shortages, Tesla delivered over 936,000 vehicles in 2021, up 87% from the prior year.</p><p>More importantly, as production capacity has scaled in both the U.S. and China, Tesla&#39;s cost per vehicle has fallen, dropping 55% between 2017 and the first quarter of 2021. That efficiency is due in part to Tesla&#39;s 2170 battery cell, a technology that Musk has called &#34;the highest energy density cell in the world, and also the cheapest.&#34; To that end, Tesla pays an estimated $187 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for its battery packs -- the most expensive part of an EV. That&#39;s 24% lower than the industry average and 10% lower than the next-closest competitor.</p><p>Additionally, through November 2021, Tesla held 13.7% market share in terms of EV sales, easily besting the second-place EV manufacturer <b>BYD</b>, which captured 9% market share. Production of the Tesla Semi (a semi-tractor trailer) is slated to start in 2022, and the trucking industry is ripe for disruption. The company also plans to integrate its new 4680 battery cell into vehicles this year, a technology that should reinforce its current cost advantages. Specifically, management believes the 4680 battery cell will cut the cost per kWh by 56% and boost EV range by 54%.</p><p>Further down the road, Tesla aims to launch an autonomous ride-hailing service, a market that ARK Invest analysts value at $1.2 trillion by 2030. While Tesla&#39;s full self-driving software is still in the works, Musk has hinted that the company would have a fully autonomous $25,000 EV in late 2023 or 2024. But even if Tesla misses that target, the company still appears to have a big head start in the race to build a self-driving car. That&#39;s why I plan to hold this stock forever.</p><h2>2. Zscaler</h2><p>Zscaler specializes in cybersecurity. Its cloud platform, the Zero Trust Exchange, is spread across 150 data centers, creating a global network that is fast, safe, and reliable. This distributed architecture, known as a secure access service edge (SASE), allows clients to access corporate resources from any device or location, while also eliminating the IT burden of buying and managing on-site hardware. In short, Zscaler is the new corporate network.</p><p>Specifically, Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) safeguards internally managed resources, like software hosted in a private data center; and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) offers the same protection for externally managed resources, such as applications hosted in the public cloud. More recently, the company expanded its offering with Zscaler Digital <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/EXP.AU\">Experience</a> (ZDX), an infrastructure performance monitoring solution, and Zscaler Cloud Protection (ZCP), a suite of tools that allows clients to secure cloud workloads.</p><p>Collectively, those products fuel digital transformation, keeping corporate networks secure no matter whether the information is stored on-site or in the cloud, nor whether it&#39;s accessed by employees in the office or those working remotely. That efficiency is due in part to Tesla's 2170 battery cell, a technology that Musk has called \"the highest energy density cell in the world, and also the cheapest.\" To that end, Tesla pays an estimated $187 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for its battery packs -- the most expensive part of an EV. Production of the Tesla Semi (a semi-tractor trailer) is slated to start in 2022, and the trucking industry is ripe for disruption. The company also plans to integrate its new 4680 battery cell into vehicles this year, a technology that should reinforce its current cost advantages. Specifically, management believes the 4680 battery cell will cut the cost per kWh by 56% and boost EV range by 54%.Further down the road, Tesla aims to launch an autonomous ride-hailing service, a market that ARK Invest analysts value at $1.2 trillion by 2030. While Tesla's full self-driving software is still in the works, Musk has hinted that the company would have a fully autonomous $25,000 EV in late 2023 or 2024. But even if Tesla misses that target, the company still appears to have a big head start in the race to build a self-driving car. That's why I plan to hold this stock forever.2. ZscalerZscaler specializes in cybersecurity. Its cloud platform, the Zero Trust Exchange, is spread across 150 data centers, creating a global network that is fast, safe, and reliable. This distributed architecture, known as a secure access service edge (SASE), allows clients to access corporate resources from any device or location, while also eliminating the IT burden of buying and managing on-site hardware. In short, Zscaler is the new corporate network.Specifically, Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) safeguards internally managed resources, like software hosted in a private data center; and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) offers the same protection for externally managed resources, such as applications hosted in the public cloud. Combined, the three shipped more than 40,000 units. That’s a monthly record and is one sign that Tesla (TSLA) should post its own big number when it reports fourth delivery figures in coming days.</p><p>About 25% of all Tesla deliveries are generated in China. Investors expect Tesla to report north of 280,000 deliveries worldwide for the fourth quarter.</p><p>Among the Chinese three, XPeng took the December, and 2021, crown reporting 16,000 deliveries, a new monthly record. For all of 2021, XPeng delivered 98,155 vehicles, up 263% compared with 2020.</p><p>Li delivered 14,087 units in December. That’s a monthly record for Li too. For all of 2021, Li delivered 90,491 vehicles, up 177% compared with 2020.</p><p>NIO didn’t set a new monthly record, just missing it by a few hundred units. The company shipped 10,489 vehicles in December. NIO’s monthly delivery record came in November, when it shipped 10,878 units. For the full year, NIO delivered 91,429 vehicles in 2021, up 109% compared with 2020.</p><p>Even though XPeng delivered more cars in 2021, NIO has still delivered the most of the three over the company’s life. Tesla</h2><p>CEO Elon Musk has often said manufacturing efficiency would be Tesla&#39;s long-term advantage, and the company is making good on that notion. Its theoretical annual production capacity now exceeds 1 million electric vehicles (EVs), and despite headwinds created by chip shortages, Tesla delivered over 936,000 vehicles in 2021, up 87% from the prior year.</p><p>More importantly, as production capacity has scaled in both the U.S. and China, Tesla&#39;s cost per vehicle has fallen, dropping 55% between 2017 and the first quarter of 2021. That efficiency is due in part to Tesla&#39;s 2170 battery cell, a technology that Musk has called &#34;the highest energy density cell in the world, and also the cheapest.&#34; To that end, Tesla pays an estimated $187 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for its battery packs -- the most expensive part of an EV. That&#39;s 24% lower than the industry average and 10% lower than the next-closest competitor.</p><p>Additionally, through November 2021, Tesla held 13.7% market share in terms of EV sales, easily besting the second-place EV manufacturer <b>BYD</b>, which captured 9% market share. Production of the Tesla Semi (a semi-tractor trailer) is slated to start in 2022, and the trucking industry is ripe for disruption. The company also plans to integrate its new 4680 battery cell into vehicles this year, a technology that should reinforce its current cost advantages. Specifically, management believes the 4680 battery cell will cut the cost per kWh by 56% and boost EV range by 54%.</p><p>Further down the road, Tesla aims to launch an autonomous ride-hailing service, a market that ARK Invest analysts value at $1.2 trillion by 2030. While Tesla&#39;s full self-driving software is still in the works, Musk has hinted that the company would have a fully autonomous $25,000 EV in late 2023 or 2024. But even if Tesla misses that target, the company still appears to have a big head start in the race to build a self-driving car. That&#39;s why I plan to hold this stock forever.</p><h2>2. Zscaler</h2><p>Zscaler specializes in cybersecurity. Its cloud platform, the Zero Trust Exchange, is spread across 150 data centers, creating a global network that is fast, safe, and reliable. This distributed architecture, known as a secure access service edge (SASE), allows clients to access corporate resources from any device or location, while also eliminating the IT burden of buying and managing on-site hardware. In short, Zscaler is the new corporate network.</p><p>Specifically, Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) safeguards internally managed resources, like software hosted in a private data center; and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) offers the same protection for externally managed resources, such as applications hosted in the public cloud. More recently, the company expanded its offering with Zscaler Digital <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/EXP.AU\">Experience</a> (ZDX), an infrastructure performance monitoring solution, and Zscaler Cloud Protection (ZCP), a suite of tools that allows clients to secure cloud workloads.</p><p>Collectively, those products fuel digital transformation, keeping corporate networks secure no matter whether the information is stored on-site or in the cloud, nor whether it&#39;s accessed by employees in the office or those working remotely. The company currently serves 5,600 clients, comprising 26 million paid seats. But management puts the near-term opportunity at 335 million seats, which brings the company&#39;s addressable market to $72 billion. However, Zscaler could extend its services to smaller businesses (fewer than 2,000 employees), which would push its opportunity above 600 million seats.</p><p>More broadly, as the best-in-class network security solution, the company should see strong demand in the coming years as more enterprises seek to protect their sensitive data.
