Limited (SGX: C6L)S","content":"

Welcome to this week’s edition of top stock market highlights.

Singapore Airlines Limited (SGX: C6L)

Singapore Airlines Limited, or SIA, has agreed with Tata Sons to merge Air India and Vistara.

SIA will inject around S$360 million into Air India as part of this deal, giving the former a 25.1% stake in the latter and a significant presence in key market segments.

Currently, SIA and Tata Sons hold a 49% and 51% stake in Vistara, respectively, while Tata Sons wholly owns Air India.

This merger is projected to complete by March 2024, subject to regulatory approvals, and will be fully funded by SIA’s internal cash resources.

Both SIA and Tata Sons will participate in any further capital injections needed for the enlarged Air India group, with a capital injection of up to S$880 million required after the merger is completed.

This transaction will benefit SIA by boosting its presence in India, thereby strengthening its multi-hub strategy, and also provide it with opportunities to expand in a fast-growing aviation market.

For context, India is the fastest-growing economy in the world and will It is also the third-largest aviation market.Demand for air travel is projected to more than double in the country in the next decade, and with low international seats per capita, India offers the promise of rapid growth in the years to come. Both Vistara and Air India will complement each other’s capabilities and together, the merged entity will have a total of 218 aircraft serving 38 international and 52 domestic destinations.Banks’ saving account ratesThe local banks have continued to up their savings account interest rates in a bid to attract more deposits. The latest bank to increase its maximum bonus interest rate isUnited Overseas Bank Ltd(SGX: U11), or UOB.UOB more than doubled its maximum bonus interest rate on its One Account from 3.6% to 7.8%.However, some conditions do apply. This eye-popping rate is only applicable for balances between S$75,000 and S$100,000 where customers need to spend at least S$500 a month using an eligible UOB card as well as credit their salary of at least S$1,600 via GIRO.OCBC Ltd(SGX: O39) is not far behind with a 7.65% maximum bonus interest rate on its bank account. It pays 4.65% on the first S$100,000 in a customer’s account, on the condition that the customer credits a salary of S$1,800 or more through GIRO, increases their account balance by at least S$500 a month, and spends S$500 on certain credit cards.Customers can only hit the maximum tier of 7.65% if they also invest and buy insurance through the lender.DBS Group(SGX: D05) is also offering bonus rates on its flagship Multiplier Account but at a lower maximum of 4.1%.This rate applies to the first S$100,000 in the account whereby the customer needs to credit an income stream and also transact in three categories with S$30,000 or more in eligible transactions.SATS (SGX: S58)SATS has finally unveiled the funding plan for itsmega acquisitionof Worldwide Flight Services (WFS).Announced in late September, the airline ground handler provided few details back then on how the deal would be financed.SATS share price also tumbled to a two-year low of S$3.08 when the announcement came out.Since then, it has declined by another 10.7% to close at S$2.75.The funding plan for the total acquisition cost of S$1.8 billion has three distinct sections comprising debt, equity and internal cash. The debt portion involves tapping a S$700 three-year Euro-denominated term loan with an all-in cost of between 4% to 4.5% per annum. For the equity funding raising (EFR) portion, SATS will launch a rights issue to raise approximately S$800 million. No further details on the rights issue price or ratio have been announced, and the rights issue is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2023.The remainder of the S$320 million will be financed through SATS’ existing cash balance.Shareholders will be invited to attend an extraordinary general meeting to approve this proposed acquisition.A circular will be sent in due course detailing the merits and characteristics of the deal to eligible shareholders.Investors will have to wait till early next year to learn more details on the EFR portion, but the good news is thatTemasek Holdingshas already indicated its intention to subscribe for its pro-rata entitlement of the rights issue.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":370,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9964968978,"gmtCreate":1670053528094,"gmtModify":1676538296434,"author":{"id":"4092135943477500","authorId":"4092135943477500","name":"Trillion","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a19127fe186fdb035e3fd7836eaa07ab","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4092135943477500","authorIdStr":"4092135943477500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a As Jefferies analyst Mark Lipacis put it: "20 years of semiconductor stock performance tells us that semis typically selloff for 6 months before cuts start, and then start moving higher once the cuts actually do start."

Late Wednesday, Nvidia offered up a "cut," as the chip maker said its revenue for the second quarter would come in $500 million lower than expected. While this can be considered a "cut" in the literal sense, some analysts debated whether it was a cut in name only seeing the reduction was due to COVID lockdowns in China and the war in Ukraine, which had also hit Cisco Systems Inc.'s$(CSCO)$ outlook, rather than one that served as a true gauge of demand.

On Thursday, Nvidia shares closed up 5.2% at $178.51-- following an after-hours drop of the same magnitude late Wednesday following the report -- against a 3.9% advance in the PHLX Semiconductor Index , a 2.7% rise in the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index , and a 2% gain in the S&P 500 index .

UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri, who has a buy rating and a $280 price target, said the "key debate into this print was the gaming outlook -- specifically whether the guidance or commentary would drive enough of a reset to 'clear the decks.'"

"Instead, there are still enough mixed signals to fan the flames of concern around potential downside in the gaming segment especially as Nvidia is now significantly slowing its pace of adding new head count," Arcuri said.

Nvidia did say that gaming revenue would be down sequentially in the second quarter in the "teens" percent, but, then again, $400 million of the China-Russia outlook shortfall was on the gaming side of the business, insinuating the "cut" was a one-time hit, rather than a true indication of gaming demand.

Cowen analyst Matthew Ramsay, who has an outperform rating and a $265 price target, called the earnings report a "very mixed bag indeed," in a note titled, "We Wonder If Investors Will Be Relieved, But Only Partially Satisfied With Gaming Cut?"

Susquehanna Financial analyst Christopher Rolland, who has a positive rating and a $260 price target, wondered if Nvidia "also did not include some reduced sales into the channel in July (and perhaps some in October) to make way for the 4000 series" of new gaming chips code-named 'Lovelace' after British mathematician Ada Lovelace expected in the fall.

Or, as Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon, who has an outperform rating and a $225 price target, put it, "We'll take it; a cut is a cut."

"We believe many investors have been wanting to own the Nvidia datacenter story especially after recent stock declines, but have been hesitant to step in front of potentially negative gaming dynamics," Rasgon said. "Viewed in that light those investors got at least some of what they wanted with a decently-sized gaming cut embedded in guidance combined with a continued strong datacenter narrative, though if one wanted to push back one could observe that most of the gaming cut was COVID/Russia vs taking a more measured view of the structural demand environment."

"For bulls hoping for a sentiment-clearing call, we did get sizable datacenter upside with strong forward visibility and a big step toward de-risking the gaming runrate," Ramsay said. "This clearly did not happen, though management is upbeat on the 2HCY22 outlook supported likely in part by a likely end to Chinese lockdowns, an installed base that is still only one-third Ampere, and the next generation GPU architecture Ada Lovelace expected to launch in mid- to late-2022 (market expectations now July-September time frame)."

"So our takeaway? It took less than 17 months for the index to double from its trough, which is pretty incredible when you consider that the average annual total return, including dividends, for the S&P 500 is closer to 11% since the beginning of 1980.

Despite these big gains, select analysts and investment banks see a lot more upside for a small group of hypergrowth companies (those delivering jaw-dropping sales growth). If Wall Street's loftiest price targets for the following three fast-paced stocks prove accurate, they could soar 216% to 257% in 2022.

Coinbase Global: Implied upside of 216%

The first hypergrowth stock with immense upside this year is cryptocurrency exchange and ecosystem Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN). Analyst Lisa Ellis of MoffettNathanson holds the high-water price target for Coinbase on Wall Street at $600. Should it reach this lofty figure, shareholders would realize a 216% return on their investment, based on where shares ended on Monday, Jan. 31.

If investors take a close look at Coinbase's operating performance, they're going to like what they see. As of the end of the third quarter, the number of monthly transacting users had more than tripled from the prior-year period to 7.4 million, with assets on the platform surging to $255 billion from $36 billion, year-over-year. Likewise, the company probably delivered more than $3 billion in net income in 2021.

A number of Wall Street analysts are clearly excited about the long-term prospects of the "Big Two" in crypto, Bitcoin and Ethereum, which account for a significant portion of Coinbase's exchange-based trading revenue. They're also intrigued about the company's ventures beyond crypto exchanges, such as setting up a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace for users. NFTs are the proof of ownership of digital assets stored on blockchain.

Although cryptocurrencies have handily outperformed the stock market on an aggregate basis over the past couple of years, there's also a lot of risk that comes with such a lofty price target. For example, competition among crypto exchanges is heating up, not slowing down. Among traditional stock brokerages, commission wars eventually led to the elimination of these fees. It seemingly wouldn't be difficult for other crypto exchanges to undercut Coinbase's fees.

Another concern is that the company is almost entirely reliant on external factors instead of innovation to grow. With much of its growth reliant on the performance of Bitcoin and Ethereum, price weakness from the Big Two, or even a loss of interest from the investing community, could threaten to send revenue and profits markedly lower. It happened in 2018, and history suggests it could happen again.

In other words, I wouldn't expect Coinbase to get anywhere near $600 in 2022.

Plug Power: Implied upside of 257%

Another hypergrowth stock with the potential to skyrocket this year, at least according to one Wall Street analyst, is hydrogen fuel-cell solutions provider Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG). Amit Dayal of H.C. Wainwright has Plug hitting a price target of $78, which implies up to 257% upside from where shares closed out January.

You could certainly say that Plug Power finds itself in the right place, at the right time. Most countries are looking for ways to reduce carbon emissions and promote green-energy solutions. This means Plug's hydrogen fuel-cell solutions for vehicles and individual machines (like forklifts), as well as its hydrogen infrastructure hubs, should be in high demand for many years to come.

What's really validated the potential for this company is the handful of major partnerships and joint ventures that have been struck since the beginning of 2021. For instance, SK Group took a 10% equity stake in the company in February 2021, with the duo forming a joint venture that'll focus on putting hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles on the road in numerous Asian markets. Around this time, Plug also formed a joint venture with French automaker Renault, known as Hyvia. Hyvia's goal is to go after 30% of the light commercial vehicle market in Europe.

Growth expectations for the company have been nothing short of phenomenal. In 2020, Plug Power brought in $337 million in revenue. By 2024, management has forecast $1.7 billion in annual gross billings. This year alone, Wall Street anticipates sales growth will exceed 80%.

Although this might sound like a slam-dunk investment, investors should also consider that Plug Power isn't yet profitable, and none of the 21 Wall Street analysts covering the company expect it to reach profitability in 2022. In an environment where interest rates are set to rise, unprofitable growth stocks often see their valuation multiples contract. While the technology and partnerships are intriguing, Plug Power has a lot to prove if it's ever going to hit $78 a share.

Fiverr International: Implied upside of 216%

A third hypergrowth stock with serious upside potential is online services marketplace Fiverr International (NYSE:FVRR). Though Wall Street's price targets have fluctuated wildly over the past year, the high-water estimate currently calls for Fiverr to hit $270. Should this lofty prognostication come to fruition, it would match Coinbase with a 216% gain.

To some extent, Fiverr's appeal comes from being in the right place when the coronavirus pandemic hit. It's a platform that connects freelancers with buyers of their services, and the market for remote workers exploded in the wake of the pandemic. With inflation also soaring, we're witnessing a hybrid-work environment where remote workers have incredible wage-pricing power.

However, Fiverr's persistently high sales growth rate is about more than just the pandemic. It's about providing a differentiated platform. Whereas competing online marketplaces push freelancers to price their services per hour, Fiverr's freelancers are pricing their services as a package deal. This leads to improved price transparency for buyers, and it's helped pushed Fiverr's take rate (what it gets to keep from arranging these deals on its platform) to levels that are well above its competition.

Fiverr is interested in targeting larger businesses with its marketplace, too. The launch of subscription-based Fiverr Business in September 2020 provides bigger companies with project management and collaborative tools that help them use freelancers effectively.

The big concern with Fiverr, similar to Plug Power, is the prospect of rising interest rates and the multiple contraction that typically accompanies a hawkish Federal Reserve. Wall Street's earnings forecast for 2022 is all over the place, with a consensus profit of $0.47 per share on the heels of 26% sales growth. Even with shares 75% below their all-time high, this works out to a price-to-earnings ratio of 182 and places the company at roughly 8 times projected sales.

Admittedly, this is far less expensive than where it was nearly a year ago, with shares hitting $336 on an intra-day basis. But even its current $85 share price could be deemed pricey given the uncertainty associated with the pandemic and the future of the hybrid-work environment.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Hypergrowth Stocks That Can Soar 216% to 257% in 2022, According to Wall Street
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Hypergrowth Stocks That Can Soar 216% to 257% in 2022, According to Wall Street\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-02-04 23:06 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
You may not realize it, but the broad-based S&P 500 enjoyed a historic bounce from the March 2020 pandemic low. This leads to improved price transparency for buyers, and it's helped pushed Fiverr's take rate (what it gets to keep from arranging these deals on its platform) to levels that are well above its competition.Fiverr is interested in targeting larger businesses with its marketplace, too. Even with shares 75% below their all-time high, this works out to a price-to-earnings ratio of 182 and places the company at roughly 8 times projected sales.Admittedly, this is far less expensive than where it was nearly a year ago, with shares hitting $336 on an intra-day basis. But even its current $85 share price could be deemed pricey given the uncertainty associated with the pandemic and the future of the hybrid-work environment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":146,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9093452171,"gmtCreate":1643691128501,"gmtModify":1676533845162,"author":{"id":"4092135943477500","authorId":"4092135943477500","name":"Trillion","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a19127fe186fdb035e3fd7836eaa07ab","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4092135943477500","authorIdStr":"4092135943477500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Noted","listText":"Noted","text":"Noted","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9093452171","repostId":"2208335465","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2208335465","pubTimestamp":1643670433,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2208335465?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-01 07:07","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US STOCKS-Nasdaq Narrowly Misses Worst January Ever as Wall Street Gains","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2208335465","media":"Reuters","summary":"* Nasdaq posts worst January since 2008* S&P 500, Dow see worst month since March 2020* Citrix falls","content":"

* Nasdaq posts worst January since 2008

* S&P 500, Dow see worst month since March 2020

* Citrix falls on $16.5 bln deal to take it private

* Indexes end up: Dow 1.17%, S&P 1.89%, Nasdaq 3.41%

Jan 31 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday, at the end of a volatile month for Wall Street where the tech-heavy Nasdaq narrowly avoided its worst ever start to the year and the S&P 500 recorded its weakest January performance since 2009.

Valuations of growth and technology stocks have come under increasing scrutiny, as investors fretted about companies trading at lofty valuations at a time when the U.S. Federal Reserve is set to begin raising interest rates to combat inflation and withdraw its pandemic stimulus measures.

In early Monday trading, the Nasdaq was on course to surpass its worst opening-month performance on record, when it fell 9.89% in 2008. In other words, software.

This year's keynote was a bit different: It also had hardware.

No, there wasn't any mention of the hotly anticipated virtual-reality headset at the Monday keynote, which was pretaped but shown to an in-person audience of media and developers at the company's Cupertino, Calif., headquarters. Nor was there any mention of the next iPhone, which will likely come in September. However, Apple unveiled its latest processor, the M2, and with it a revamped MacBook Air and an upgraded MacBook Pro.

Of course, most of the screen time dwelt on iOS 16, iPad OS 16, WatchOS 9 and MacOS Ventura, the updates expected to be free this fall. Free for those of you with supported devices, that is. (Sorry iPhone 7 users, you didn't make the cut.) Here are the most noteworthy hardware and software highlights from the event.

New MacBook Air and Pro

The MacBook Air got a new look and the more powerful, battery-efficient M2 chip. It ditches the classic Air wedge for all straight edges, and there's a new deep-blue color option. One feature that made me double take: The MagSafe charging cable is back. So if you trip on your power cord, that detaches without taking your whole laptop with it.

It has a larger 13.6-inch display, up from 13.3 inches. It also has an improved 1080p webcam, up from 720p, surrounded by a notch reminiscent of the latest iPhones. It's a touch thinner and lighter, though the overall footprint is just slightly larger. (We're talking millimeters here.)

The new MacBook Air starts at $1,199 -- a $200 price hike. A 30-watt brick is included with the base configuration, but if you pay $20 extra, or choose a pricier configuration, you can get it with either a new 35-watt compact adapter option with two USB-C ports or a 67-watt adapter. Both will also be sold separately for $59.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is getting a processor bump to the M2, but remains relatively unchanged beyond that. It starts at $1,299. Apple said both laptops will be available next month.

iOS 16

Come this fall, you'll be able to edit and recall sent messages in the Messages app. The functionality will be available for 15 minutes after you send it. And if you're overloaded with messages and want to revisit any, you'll be able to mark them as unread, like an email.

The Fitness app, previously reserved for Apple Watch users, will be available to everyone. The iPhone's motion sensors, which already estimate your steps and distance for the Health app, will show that data in the Fitness app, alongside workouts from third-party apps such as Strava.

Your lock screen -- the screen you see when you're checking the time a hundred times a day -- is about to get fancier. Android phones have long had custom lockscreens and were once the object of iPhoners' (read: my) envy. At last, iPhones will show calendar events, weather and other customizable information at a glance, without you needing to unlock the device. You can also personalize the font and color of the clock. You can set up multiple lock screens and associate them with different Focus Modes, a suite of complicated but useful custom Do Not Disturb settings.

In iOS 16, you'll be able to dictate with your voice and edit the text with the touch screen simultaneously, by selecting text with your finger then speaking new words, for example.

Apple redesigned the way parents can set age restrictions on their kids' content, making it easier to do more. Another parental control change: Screen-time requests can be granted or denied right from the Messages app.

In the Photos app, families will be able to create shared libraries. For instance, all the pictures everyone takes on a family vacation can be shared either voluntarily or automatically based on your preferences.

I wish my car had CarPlay, Apple's iPhone-friendly, in-vehicle infotainment system. Now that Apple teased the next generation of CarPlay, I'm thinking about holding off on my next vehicle purchase. It's a full Apple takeover of the dashboard, so you get speed and other standard instrument data superimposed on top of turn-by-turn directions. And while Apple listed partners including Ford, Honda and Volvo, the company said vehicle announcements aren't due until late 2023.

MacOS Ventura

Your iPhone's high-resolution camera can become your next Mac webcam with what's called Continuity Camera. I've used an app called Reincubate Camo to do the same thing, but the native Mac version will have more bells and whistles. The software automatically keeps your video in frame as you move, blurs your background and applies lighting features to brighten the image.

Desk View shows a second angle, a birds-eye view of your desk for demos, by just using the iPhone's ultrawide-angle camera and image processing. (Before deploying this feature, make sure there's nothing on your desk you wouldn't want colleagues to see.) Apple says it's working with Belkin to create mounts, due later this year, for perching an iPhone on a MacBook's open top.

Passwords are out, passkeys are in. Safari will support passkeys, which use the biometric sensors in your device to authenticate logins. That means no passwords to remember or store in a password manager. You just need the device that's on you. Apple is working to make passkeys compatible with online services by way of the FIDO Alliance, an industry group, so it's likely other devices and operating systems will follow suit. It's a big step toward a password-less future.

iPadOS 16

As a longtime iPad-as-computer person, I have been waiting for this software update. I have spent years mastering the iPad's many complicated multitasking gestures, but now they may not be necessary.

With iPadOS 16, the tablet will behave more like a Mac. The windows of different applications overlap, and you can resize them freely, instead of using Apple's predetermined proportions. For iPads with the M1 chip, there's even full external display support. With a monitor connected, those tablets will be able to run up to eight apps simultaneously. When you lump in past additions such as mouse support, you can finally see iPads becoming "real" computers. (But I'll test this in the fall to make sure.)

WatchOS 9

There are a slew of new health and fitness features for the watch.

A feature to help remind you to take and log medications will be built into the Apple Watch with WatchOS 9, and it will also be in the Health app on the iPhone with iOS 16. You can share the medication log with family members, and the app can note any potentially dangerous interactions between the medications, supplements and vitamins you're taking. Snap a picture of the medication's label with an iPhone to automatically add it to the app.

Sleep tracking can sometimes hurt more than it helps, but for those who do like a record of their good night's rest, or lack thereof, the watch will show time spent in different sleep stages.

While working out, you will get a new heart-rate zone view to gauge intensity level. Runners can see their vertical oscillation, stride length or ground contact time metrics, and both runners and cyclists can compare current and past performance on the same route. A new multisport workout mode that automatically transitions between swim, bike and run will be available.

Finally, for swimmers, the Apple Watch has long been kickboard-challenged because wrists are stationary while kicking. Now, when you're doing kickboard drills, the watch will recognize kicking as its own stroke type.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
iOS 16, MacOS Ventura, a New MacBook Air and More: The Biggest News From Apple's WWDC
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\niOS 16, MacOS Ventura, a New MacBook Air and More: The Biggest News From Apple's WWDC\n
\n\n
\n\n\n<div class=\"head\" \">\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Dow Jones
\n
2022-06-07 07:17
\n
\n\n
\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (aka WWDC) typically kicks off with a laundry list of the new free features coming to iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Macs in the fall. However, Apple unveiled its latest processor, the M2, and with it a revamped MacBook Air and an upgraded MacBook Pro.Of course, most of the screen time dwelt on iOS 16, iPad OS 16, WatchOS 9 and MacOS Ventura, the updates expected to be free this fall. Free for those of you with supported devices, that is. (Sorry iPhone 7 users, you didn't make the cut.) Here are the most noteworthy hardware and software highlights from the event.New MacBook Air and ProThe MacBook Air got a new look and the more powerful, battery-efficient M2 chip. It ditches the classic Air wedge for all straight edges, and there's a new deep-blue color option. One feature that made me double take: The MagSafe charging cable is back. So if you trip on your power cord, that detaches without taking your whole laptop with it.It has a larger 13.6-inch display, up from 13.3 inches. It also has an improved 1080p webcam, up from 720p, surrounded by a notch reminiscent of the latest iPhones. It's a touch thinner and lighter, though the overall footprint is just slightly larger. (We're talking millimeters here.)The new MacBook Air starts at $1,199 -- a $200 price hike. A 30-watt brick is included with the base configuration, but if you pay $20 extra, or choose a pricier configuration, you can get it with either a new 35-watt compact adapter option with two USB-C ports or a 67-watt adapter. Both will also be sold separately for $59.The 13-inch MacBook Pro is getting a processor bump to the M2, but remains relatively unchanged beyond that. It starts at $1,299. Apple said both laptops will be available next month.iOS 16Come this fall, you'll be able to edit and recall sent messages in the Messages app. The functionality will be available for 15 minutes after you send it. And if you're overloaded with messages and want to revisit any, you'll be able to mark them as unread, like an email. The Fitness app, previously reserved for Apple Watch users, will be available to everyone. The iPhone's motion sensors, which already estimate your steps and distance for the Health app, will show that data in the Fitness app, alongside workouts from third-party apps such as Strava.Your lock screen -- the screen you see when you're checking the time a hundred times a day -- is about to get fancier. In iOS 16, you'll be able to dictate with your voice and edit the text with the touch screen simultaneously, by selecting text with your finger then speaking new words, for example.Apple redesigned the way parents can set age restrictions on their kids' content, making it easier to do more. Another parental control change: Screen-time requests can be granted or denied right from the Messages app.In the Photos app, families will be able to create shared libraries. For instance, all the pictures everyone takes on a family vacation can be shared either voluntarily or automatically based on your preferences.I wish my car had CarPlay, Apple's iPhone-friendly, in-vehicle infotainment system. Now that Apple teased the next generation of CarPlay, I'm thinking about holding off on my next vehicle purchase. It's a full Apple takeover of the dashboard, so you get speed and other standard instrument data superimposed on top of turn-by-turn directions. And while Apple listed partners including Ford, Honda and Volvo, the company said vehicle announcements aren't due until late 2023.MacOS VenturaYour iPhone's high-resolution camera can become your next Mac webcam with what's called Continuity Camera. LUNA , another cryptocurrency backing UST, fell nearly to zero from over $80 in early May, with its market capitalization shrinking by more than $40 billion from early April. It marks \"the largest wealth destruction event in the short history of the crypto markets,\" since bitcoin was created in 2019, crypto trading firm QCP Capital wrote in a Friday note.Meanwhile, bitcoin on Thursday fell to $25,402, the lowest level since December 2020, before it rebounded to about $30,000 on Friday, according to CoinDesk data. The bitcoin fear and greed index currently stands at one of its lowest points, indicating extreme fearTether , the largest stablecoin, briefly fell to as low as 96 cents against the dollar on Thursday, before it rebounded to $1.More than$400 billionhas been wiped out from the crypto market during the past seven days, according to CoinGecko. All sectors within the crypto space have seen double-digit losses during this period, with cryptocurrencies related to Web 3, the so-called next generation of the internet, posting the biggest loss of 41% on average, according to analysts at Messari. The series of events may herald the beginning of another \"crypto winter,\" said one industry participant, echoing a common theme this week on Twitter. Some are more optimistic. \"It's a pattern. Back when we look at what happened in 2014, the crash happened and there's a big panic. People say, oh, crypto is dead. It's not coming back. But of course, it has come back,\" Mike Belshe, founder and chief executive at crypto infrastructure provider BitGo, told MarketWatch in an interview. To be sure, the industry is still nascent and lightly regulated, while the crypto market remains volatile with high risks.Bitcoin drawdownAt a Thursday low of $25,402, bitcoin was down 63% from its all-time high of $68,990 in November. The percentage of decline is larger than the 54% fall from the cycle high in July 2021, but smaller than that in other bear markets. The chart below shows bitcoin's previous drawdown from each cycle highs. In March 2020, bitcoin was down up to 77% from the cycle high, according to Glassnode data. In the bear markets of January 2015 and December 2018, bitcoin capitulated at lows of 85.5% and 83.8% from local highs, respectively, according to Glassnode data.Market bottom? Some said bitcoin is nearing a \"generational cyclical bottom.\"Bitcoin's low on Thursday is close to its realized price, the aggregated cost basis of investors on-chain, which currently stands at $24,000, Will Clemente, lead insights analyst at bitcoin mining company Blockware Solutions, wrote in a Friday note. \"Any prices below realized price should be seen as extreme value,\" Clemente wrote.Historically, whenever bitcoin's price approached the realized price, it indicated a buying opportunity, Clemente told MarketWatch in a recent interview. It's also worth watching bitcoin's 200-week moving average price, which usually indicates a cyclical bottom, Clemente said. It currently stands slightly above $21,500.Still, great uncertainties remain in financial markets, as demonstrated by price actions across equities.Read:Despite bounce, S&P 500 hovers perilously close to bear market. Here's the number that counts\"I think that this is just the beginning of an ongoing decline in crypto,\" Jay Hatfield, chief investment officer at Infrastructure Capital Management, told MarketWatch in a recent interview.Hatfield attributed bitcoin's high return in 2020 and 2021 partly to the Federal Reserve's quantitative easing policy. \"We had an unprecedented increase in Fed liquidity, buying $120 billion a month of securities. And now we will have an erratic shift to a reduction in liquidity for $95 billion per month,\" Hatfield said.\"The Fed hasn't even begun to do quantitative tightening.
