Fed Fund Futures were only looking at 4% rates by December 2022. The Fed's projections were 40 bps higher than the market and about 1.25% higher than the Fed Fund Rate following today's 75 BPS rate hike. That means the market will need to price two additional rate hikes for the rest of 2022.

The Fed's projections for 4.6% for 2023 have also shifted the Fed Funds Futures peak terminal rate to 4.62% from 4.48% yesterday. Additionally, that peak rate is expected to come in May 2023 instead of April. But more importantly, as time passes, we should see those Fed Funds Futures begin to take the shape of the Fed's expected path.

Mott Capital

The shift in the futures market should feed through to the Treasury curve. Treasuries are already beginning to rise further with the 2-Yr and 3-Yr gaining and now above 4%. Based on the Fed projections, they would suggest we're likely to see the two and three-year Treasuries not only stay above 4% but well above 4%, potentially matching those peak terminal rates of 4.6% the Fed is forecasting.

Bloomberg

The higher rates will help strengthen the dollar index, especially against Japan and China, which are clearly in much easier monetary policy positions. While the Chicago Fed's National Financial Conditions (NFCI) and Adjusted NFCI tightened some this week, they still need to see their index value get above zero. Tightening financial conditions will work to sink stocks as they usually do.

Bloomberg

Wider Spreads

Additionally, corporate and high-yield credit spreads should widen further, which historically is directly tied to changes in the stock market volatility as measured by the VIX index. That's a historically low level since 2010 and 135 bps below the historical average of 3.76%. An increase of 135 bps in the S&P 500 earnings yield would send it to roughly 7.25% from around 5.9%. That would take the S&P 500 PE ratio of 16.9 to approximately 13.8, or an S&P 500 value of roughly 3,100. Like the company’s other recent launches, it’s expected to be an online presentation rather than in-person, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the deliberations are private.Apple is coming off a holiday quarter that far exceeded Wall Street predictions, helping quell fears that supply-chain problems would hurt sales. Now the company is setting its sights higher for 2022. The March announcements -- along with the usual flood of product news expected later in 2022 -- suggest Apple will introduce its biggest crop of new devices ever in a single year.Given that the planned timing is still more than a month away, the company’s plans may change in the face of production delays or other changes, the people said. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on the company’s plans. The new phone will be the first update to the iPhone SE model in two years, adding 5G network capabilities, an improved camera and a faster processor. But the design itself is expected to be similar to the current version, which debuted in April 2020.The new iPad, meanwhile, will be an update to the Air model that features a faster processor and 5G. The company is also planning a new Mac with Apple-designed chips, which could also come as early as March. In addition to announcing new devices, the company is planning to release iOS 15.4 in the first half of March, the people said. The software update will add Face ID support for people wearing masks to iPhones and iPads, making it easier for users to unlock their devices. It also has new emojis and Universal Control, which lets customers use a single keyboard and trackpad across multiple iPads and Macs.Following the March event, the company will likely hold its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June to announce software updates for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It’s then expected to hold multiple keynote events in the fall to launch the iPhone 14 and new Macs. The 2022 lineup is likely to include new iMac and Mac Pro desktops, a redesigned MacBook Air, an updated low-end MacBook Pro, three Apple Watches, four iPhone 14 models and new AirPods. The company is also planning new services, such as a feature that lets the iPhone accept payments with the tap of a credit card.Apple is working on a high-end mixed reality headset as well, but that’s now more likely to be released in 2023. The company had aimed to announce the device as early as the end of 2022, but development challenges have delayed the timing, Bloomberg reported last month.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":1,"NGD":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1362,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9091126479,"gmtCreate":1643810600818,"gmtModify":1676533858562,"author":{"id":"4094697601250800","authorId":"4094697601250800","name":"Strawberry88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de6619c61ef411d558d38d5a14826d2a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4094697601250800","idStr":"4094697601250800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Inflation in Singapore is definitely not only 1.5%!","listText":"Inflation in Singapore is definitely not only 1.5%!","text":"Inflation in Singapore is definitely not only 1.5%!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9091126479","repostId":"2208368356","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2208368356","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1643804700,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2208368356?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-02 20:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Better Buy for 2022: Nu Holdings vs. Grab Holdings?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2208368356","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"These two international emerging companies look appealing, but which company would be a better buy today?","content":"
\n
When it comes to diversifying your portfolio, you have several viable options, including geographic diversification. Buying stocks in companies that operate around the world can even out any adverse economic conditions that might only affect one country or region you care about. Inflation, for example, is running high in the U.S. But in Singapore, inflation was just 1.5% in 2021.A couple of international stocks you might want to consider for your portfolio are Grab Holdings (NASDAQ:GRAB) or Nu Holdings (NYSE:NU). Grab is based in Singapore and is looking to become a Southeast Asian super-app. Nu Holdings -- a digital financial services company in Latin America -- is trying to fight the financial complexity that exists in the region today. Both came public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger in late 2021, but which company is a better buy for 2022 and beyond? Let's find out.Image source: Getty Images.Grab HoldingsGrab wants to become the hub for everyday life for those living in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia by offering services that everyone needs daily. The company's core services -- delivery and ride-hailing -- had over $2.8 billion in gross merchandise volume spent on its platform in the third quarter of 2021. Add all three of its services together and the company has 22 million monthly transacting users, leaving Grab plenty of room for growth in a Southeast Asian population of 679 million.Grab's opportunity is extremely large, but the company has not yet proved it can take full advantage. In the most recent quarter, The company's revenue decreased 9% year over year to $157 million. Management cited short-term pandemic lockdowns in certain countries as the reason revenue fell, but some of its biggest markets -- like Singapore -- are largely open for business due to the high vaccination rates. And despite being a $21 billion company, Grab's margin profile is not good. In the first six months of 2021, the company had a gross margin of negative 28% and posted a net loss of over $1.4 billion, a figure that represents 370% of revenue. To capitalize on the massive market opportunity and become the dominant super-app in Southeast Asia, Grab is going to need a quick turnaround. It already faces competition in the financial services business from Sea Limited and on the delivery and ride-hailing side is GoTo (a merger of two Southeast Asian behemoths Tokopedia and Gojek). If Grab disrupted both of these companies, it would be an amazing feat, but much harder to accomplish with negative gross margins and low growth.Nu HoldingsNu Holdings is disrupting the digital financial services industry across Latin America. The banking system in Latin America is dominated by five banks that control up to 85% of all banking revenue in Chile, Brazil, and Mexico. This dominance has resulted in almost no innovation in terms of technology, simplicity, or customer satisfaction in decades. Nu is trying to change this. The company digitally offers users credit cards services, savings and checking accounts, loan options, investment accounts, and even insurance. These offerings appear to be popular as the three-year compound annual growth rate for customers has been 110% annually, reaching 48 million customers. What is more important is Nu's ability to satisfy customers. The lack of innovation in the space has caused the established banks to get lots of complaints, according to Nu management. It reported that the biggest banks in the region, on average, receive 1,420 complaints per 1 million customers. Nu's customer-centric approach has resulted in less than 270 per 1 million customers. The company has a total addressable market of over 650 million people. The digital bank is going after that market and has already started to see success. In Q3 2021, it grew its revenue 208% year over year to $481 million. Its net loss for the period was just $34 million, which grew just 5% year over year, so the company's path to profitability looks very strong.Nu: The clear winnerNu looks stronger than Grab in virtually every part of its business, which makes its stock a much better buy today. Nu and Grab have similar market sizes, yet Nu has robust competitive advantages, a better financial position, and much more impressive growth. Nu stock does trade at 42 times sales compared to Grab's 29 times sales, but Nu's quality of operations makes that premium valuation worth paying up for. There are competitors to Nu in the digital financial services space -- mainly MercadoLibre -- but with such a large opportunity, both Nu and MercadoLibre could win. Nu's unique approach to tackling the digital financial services market has seen major success. I think that it could continue growing if the company continues to keep its customers happy and expand its product line.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GRAB":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1238,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9091008671,"gmtCreate":1643724928306,"gmtModify":1676533848694,"author":{"id":"4094697601250800","authorId":"4094697601250800","name":"Strawberry88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de6619c61ef411d558d38d5a14826d2a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4094697601250800","idStr":"4094697601250800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$ChargePoint Holdings Inc.(CHPT)$105m charging is an impressive result for charge point!","listText":"$ChargePoint Holdings Inc.(CHPT)$105m charging is an impressive result for charge point!","text":"$ChargePoint Holdings Inc.(CHPT)$105m charging is an impressive result for charge point!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9091008671","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1441,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9099755031,"gmtCreate":1643432695934,"gmtModify":1676533820906,"author":{"id":"4094697601250800","authorId":"4094697601250800","name":"Strawberry88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de6619c61ef411d558d38d5a14826d2a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4094697601250800","idStr":"4094697601250800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Pfizer(PFE)$$0.4 dividend every quarter is good money.

Additionally, with Europe's energy crisis and on the brink of recession, the dollar is likely to strengthen further against the euro.

Bloomberg

Tighter Financial Conditions

Rising rates and a stronger dollar also will help real yield rise, and together all of these things will work to tighten financial conditions even more in the coming weeks.

I have been warning about the end of QE and rate hikes and the consequence for about a year. As I also explained, the July and August 2022rally was a giant head-fake, and it got many investors on the wrong side of things, believing the Fed would cave and pivot. This time is different; the Fed has a serious inflation problem for the first time in about 40 years. During the 2010s, the Fed only had to worry about the unemployment rate because inflation was nonexistent, so that it could pivot at the first signs of slowing growth.

But now inflation is job number one for the Fed, and everything else is a distant second.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The Federal Reserve Delivers A Massive Shock To The Stock Market
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe Federal Reserve Delivers A Massive Shock To The Stock Market\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-09-22 23:28 GMT+8 Seeking Alpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
SummaryThe Fed's forecast for rate hikes was more hawkish than expected.Even the usually implied volatility melt didn't help to lift stocks. The S&P 500 could probably fall to around 3,100.After ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{".SPX":"S&P 500 Index",".IXIC":"NASDAQ Composite",".DJI":"道琼斯"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4542392-fed-delivers-massive-shock-to-stock-market","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1104523508","content_text":"SummaryThe Fed's forecast for rate hikes was more hawkish than expected.Even the usually implied volatility melt didn't help to lift stocks.The S&P 500 could probably fall to around 3,100.After several attempts to rein in the stock market, the Fed may have figured it out. Like the company’s other recent launches, it’s expected to be an online presentation rather than in-person, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the deliberations are private.Apple is coming off a holiday quarter that far exceeded Wall Street predictions, helping quell fears that supply-chain problems would hurt sales. Now the company is setting its sights higher for 2022. The March announcements -- along with the usual flood of product news expected later in 2022 -- suggest Apple will introduce its biggest crop of new devices ever in a single year.Given that the planned timing is still more than a month away, the company’s plans may change in the face of production delays or other changes, the people said. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on the company’s plans.The new phone will be the first update to the iPhone SE model in two years, adding 5G network capabilities, an improved camera and a faster processor. But the design itself is expected to be similar to the current version, which debuted in April 2020.The new iPad, meanwhile, will be an update to the Air model that features a faster processor and 5G. The company is also planning a new Mac with Apple-designed chips, which could also come as early as March.In addition to announcing new devices, the company is planning to release iOS 15.4 in the first half of March, the people said. The software update will add Face ID support for people wearing masks to iPhones and iPads, making it easier for users to unlock their devices. It also has new emojis and Universal Control, which lets customers use a single keyboard and trackpad across multiple iPads and Macs.Following the March event, the company will likely hold its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June to announce software updates for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It’s then expected to hold multiple keynote events in the fall to launch the iPhone 14 and new Macs.The 2022 lineup is likely to include new iMac and Mac Pro desktops, a redesigned MacBook Air, an updated low-end MacBook Pro, three Apple Watches, four iPhone 14 models and new AirPods. The company is also planning new services, such as a feature that lets the iPhone accept payments with the tap of a credit card.Apple is working on a high-end mixed reality headset as well, but that’s now more likely to be released in 2023. The company had aimed to announce the device as early as the end of 2022, but development challenges have delayed the timing, Bloomberg reported last month.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":1,"NGD":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1362,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9041534534,"gmtCreate":1656071508128,"gmtModify":1676535762490,"author":{"id":"4094697601250800","authorId":"4094697601250800","name":"Strawberry88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de6619c61ef411d558d38d5a14826d2a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4094697601250800","idStr":"4094697601250800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Polestar Automotive(PSNY)$Underpriced. The approvals came as a bit of a surprise -- not because I didn't think they would get approved, but because I thought they might be pushed off until next year due to the changing regulatory landscape in Washington, where regulators and lawmakers have been tussling over large bank mergers and how they are scrutinized. The recent approvals bode well not only for the parties involved but also for other larger bank mergers in the pipeline.\nLet's take a look at these three deals and how investors may be thinking about them.\n1. First Citizens' acquisition of CIT Group\nIn perhaps the most significant approval, the Federal Reserve finally signed off on First Citizens Bancshares' (NASDAQ:FCNCA) planned acquisition of CIT Group (NYSE:CIT). The deal, announced in October 2020, was first expected to close in the first half of 2021. But after months of delay, First Citizens and CIT were forced to extend their merger agreement to March 2022. The acquisition will grow First Citizens to about $111 billion of assets.\nThis approval is huge because investors loved this deal right off the bat and have been driving up First Citizens' stock price ever since. The acquisition is expected to grow First Citizens' earnings per share next year by more than 50% and its tangible book value (TBV, what a bank would be worth if it were liquidated), by more than 30%. Both of those numbers are considered massive for a bank deal. Since announcing the deal, First Citizens' stock is up about 95%, and I believe investors are valuing the bank based on its new TBV. So, if the deal had not gone through, I think the stock price would have gotten knocked down considerably.\n2. Webster's acquisition of Sterling Bancorp\nIn April, Webster Financial Corp. (NYSE:WBS), based in Connecticut, announced its plan to merge with Sterling Bancorp (NYSE:STL) of New York in a deal that will create a regional bank with nearly $66 billion in assets. Webster recently announced that it now expects the deal to close on Feb. 1, 2022, which is still a few months after its initial closing projection before the end of the year. Still, given the way things had been trending, and with the competing tones over bank mergers in Washington and backlog of pending deals at the Fed, this should relieve any concerns among investors that the deal might not go through.\nThe market did not like this deal when it was announced, likely because both Webster and Sterling were already strong-performing banks, and it seems like the market saw this as a bit of a gamble in terms of strategic direction. While the deal has a lot of execution risk, I think there is some good potential here. The deal will enable Webster to invest more into its health savings account business, which is a main driver of deposits at the bank, along with Sterling's up-and-coming banking-as-a-service capabilities.\n3. WSFS' acquisition of Bryn Mawr Bank\nThe other deal the Fed approved last Friday was WSFS Financial Corp.'s (NASDAQ:WSFS) acquisition of Bryn Mawr Bank (NASDAQ:BMTC). The approval of this deal is not as surprising as the others because the transaction will only create a roughly $20 billion asset bank on the Pennsylvania-Delaware border. The deal is now expected to close on Jan. 1, which is slightly delayed from when it was supposed to have closed in the early part of the current quarter. The acquisition creates an attractive bank for shareholders that will have strong core fee revenue and a good deposit base. The combination of WSFS and Bryn Mawr also creates a strong wealth management franchise with $43 billion in assets under management.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"CIT":0.9,"BMTC":0.9,"WBS":0.9,"STL":0.9,"WSFS":0.9,"FCNCA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":747,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":373248355856616,"gmtCreate":1732154570687,"gmtModify":1732154575158,"author":{"id":"4094697601250800","authorId":"4094697601250800","name":"Strawberry88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de6619c61ef411d558d38d5a14826d2a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4094697601250800","idStr":"4094697601250800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Target(TGT)$ Bought the dip. Buying stocks in companies that operate around the world can even out any adverse economic conditions that might only affect one country or region you care about. Inflation, for example, is running high in the U.S. But in Singapore, inflation was just 1.5% in 2021.A couple of international stocks you might want to consider for your portfolio are Grab Holdings (NASDAQ:GRAB) or Nu Holdings (NYSE:NU). Grab is based in Singapore and is looking to become a Southeast Asian super-app. Nu Holdings -- a digital financial services company in Latin America -- is trying to fight the financial complexity that exists in the region today. Both came public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger in late 2021, but which company is a better buy for 2022 and beyond? Let's find out.Image source: Getty Images.Grab HoldingsGrab wants to become the hub for everyday life for those living in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia by offering services that everyone needs daily. The company's core services -- delivery and ride-hailing -- had over $2.8 billion in gross merchandise volume spent on its platform in the third quarter of 2021. Add all three of its services together and the company has 22 million monthly transacting users, leaving Grab plenty of room for growth in a Southeast Asian population of 679 million.Grab's opportunity is extremely large, but the company has not yet proved it can take full advantage. In the most recent quarter, The company's revenue decreased 9% year over year to $157 million. Management cited short-term pandemic lockdowns in certain countries as the reason revenue fell, but some of its biggest markets -- like Singapore -- are largely open for business due to the high vaccination rates. And despite being a $21 billion company, Grab's margin profile is not good. In the first six months of 2021, the company had a gross margin of negative 28% and posted a net loss of over $1.4 billion, a figure that represents 370% of revenue.To capitalize on the massive market opportunity and become the dominant super-app in Southeast Asia, Grab is going to need a quick turnaround. It already faces competition in the financial services business from Sea Limited and on the delivery and ride-hailing side is GoTo (a merger of two Southeast Asian behemoths Tokopedia and Gojek). If Grab disrupted both of these companies, it would be an amazing feat, but much harder to accomplish with negative gross margins and low growth.Nu HoldingsNu Holdings is disrupting the digital financial services industry across Latin America. The banking system in Latin America is dominated by five banks that control up to 85% of all banking revenue in Chile, Brazil, and Mexico. This dominance has resulted in almost no innovation in terms of technology, simplicity, or customer satisfaction in decades. Nu is trying to change this.The company digitally offers users credit cards services, savings and checking accounts, loan options, investment accounts, and even insurance. These offerings appear to be popular as the three-year compound annual growth rate for customers has been 110% annually, reaching 48 million customers.What is more important is Nu's ability to satisfy customers. The lack of innovation in the space has caused the established banks to get lots of complaints, according to Nu management. It reported that the biggest banks in the region, on average, receive 1,420 complaints per 1 million customers. Nu's customer-centric approach has resulted in less than 270 per 1 million customers.The company has a total addressable market of over 650 million people. The digital bank is going after that market and has already started to see success. In Q3 2021, it grew its revenue 208% year over year to $481 million. Its net loss for the period was just $34 million, which grew just 5% year over year, so the company's path to profitability looks very strong.Nu: The clear winnerNu looks stronger than Grab in virtually every part of its business, which makes its stock a much better buy today. Nu and Grab have similar market sizes, yet Nu has robust competitive advantages, a better financial position, and much more impressive growth. Nu stock does trade at 42 times sales compared to Grab's 29 times sales, but Nu's quality of operations makes that premium valuation worth paying up for.There are competitors to Nu in the digital financial services space -- mainly MercadoLibre -- but with such a large opportunity, both Nu and MercadoLibre could win. Nu's unique approach to tackling the digital financial services market has seen major success. I think that it could continue growing if the company continues to keep its customers happy and expand its product line.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GRAB":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1238,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9000557612,"gmtCreate":1640243039566,"gmtModify":1676533511133,"author":{"id":"4094697601250800","authorId":"4094697601250800","name":"Strawberry88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de6619c61ef411d558d38d5a14826d2a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4094697601250800","idStr":"4094697601250800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"They need to compete existing fleet of cabs,Gojek, and in future they need to refresh their cars to EVs. Yet, this didn’t stop GRAB stock from plummeting more than 20% on the day of the merger.\nSince then, investors have continued to give GRAB stock the cold shoulder, with shares falling another 16% to trade at $7.34 at the time of this writing.\nNow, before you write off an investment in Grab Holdings, consider that the company is still in the early innings and let’s consider where GRAB stock could go from here.\nWhat’s Behind Grab’s Cool Reception?\nGrab is the largest ride-hailing and delivery company in Southeast Asia, with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam and serving more than 187 million users.\nThere are a number of plausible explanations for why GRAB stock has not been well-received by investors.\nFor starters, growth estimates for the Southeast Asian region have been lowered recently primarily due to the coronavirus pandemic. In September, the Asian Development Bank dropped its 2021 growth forecast for the region to 3.1% from 4.4% previously.\nWidespread lockdowns in the region due to recurring waves of COVID-19 have hurt demand for Grab’s ride-hailing services and weighed on revenue despite an increase in food-delivery volumes.\nGrab reported its third-quarter results on Nov. 11. Revenue fell 9% year over year to $157 million, with the company citing “a decline in mobility due to the severe lockdowns in Vietnam.” Falling revenue is obviously not something investors want to see, especially from a company that has yet to turn a profit.\nYet, the company did report a 32% year-over-year increase in gross merchandise value, with the dollar value of transactions from Grab’s services rising to $4.04 billion thanks to strength in the company’s deliveries segment.\nThere’s Reason for Optimism\nThe deal to go public through the merger with Altimeter Growth Corp. valued Grab at close to $40 billion, which as I mentioned, was a record. The fact that three weeks later GRAB stock has a market cap of about $27.5 billion tells us that perhaps things got a bit too heated. However, there is reason for optimism.\nThe ride-hailing platform has secured the backing of significant players across related industries, including DiDi Global(NYSE:DIDI),Toyota(NYSE:TM) and SoftBank’s(OTCMKTS:SFTBY) Vision Fund.\nGrab Holdings also has some positive catalysts on the horizon. For example, the company recently announced that it will be purchasing Jaya Grocer, a premium supermarket chain in Malaysia.\nThis acquisition fits nicely with the ride-hailing and delivery business model the company seeks to expand. Management refers to the model as a “superapp” focus, whereby users can access multiple services in a single, convenient location.\nThe Bottom Line on GRAB Stock\nI can’t say Grab Holdings can immediately turn things around. But its potential in the burgeoning Southeast Asian market means it remains relevant and has a long runway.\nOf the six analysts following GRAB stock, two rate it a “buy” and there are no “sell” ratings,according to The Wall Street Journal. Meanwhile, the consensus price target stands at $12.25, which represents upside of 67% from current levels.\nGRAB stock is very cheap now, so it’s hardly a dangerous speculative play. There’s a good argument to be made for investing now and hoping that the company continues to expand its footprint. Profitability should follow.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GRAB":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":829,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":484090886811936,"gmtCreate":1759154500660,"gmtModify":1759154503404,"author":{"id":"4094697601250800","authorId":"4094697601250800","name":"Strawberry88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de6619c61ef411d558d38d5a14826d2a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4094697601250800","idStr":"4094697601250800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc.(GFS)$ ","listText":"$GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc.(GFS)$ ","text":"$GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc.(GFS)$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4153925afc100a4d66919d1711995b6f","width":"1122","height":"1737"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/484090886811936","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":325,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
