This can be attributed to our limited resources especially in terms of land which leads to a higher cost of living. Singapore is a capitalist society and operates an open economic system which encourages free trade. While this has brought prosperity to the nation, it has also created several harmful consequences such as a high cost of living. People who are well educated and who come from a rich background tend to benefit the most, while the poor tend to suffer from income inequality. Rich people are able to spend lavishly on property and other assets, creating bubbles which the middle and lower income population are unable to afford. @Dwayne Sheng:$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Tesla revolves around Elon Musk. Without him, it feels like the Nasi Lemak without the sambal, going out without your smartphone or going to sleep without brushing your teeth. It just doesn't feel right. At the moment, apparently Elok Musk has been prioritising Twitter over his other ventures so Tesla will suffer at least awhile longer for his lack of attention.
