Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that even in the midst of the ongoing meltdown in technology stocks, the iPhone maker has outperformed the broader indexes and many of its peers.

From their peaks several months ago, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite indexes have declined 17% and 26%, respectively, while Apple stock has shed just 13%.

That performance notwithstanding, there are plenty of reasons for investors to buy Apple stock and hold forever.

1. It's Warren Buffett's largest holding

Given his extraordinary track record, investors could do far worse than following in the footsteps of legendary money manager Warren Buffett. Since taking the helm of Berkshire Hathaway in 1965, the "Oracle of Omaha" has delivered mind-boggling returns, generating a compound annual growth rate of more than 20%. In fact, by the end of 2021, the company's overall returns clocked in at a staggering 3,641,613%.

Lest there be any doubt, Apple is far and away Berkshire's largest holding. Buffett ended the second quarter with nearly 895 million shares of Apple stock, worth roughly $122 billion as of June, 30, accounting for about 41% of Berkshire's portfolio. That's quite a vote of confidence from one of the world's most successful investors.

2. One billion iPhones strong -- and growing

There's no question that the release of the iconic iPhone in 2007 ushered in the modern smartphone and forever changed the way we communicate. The device's sleek design and integrated computing power took the world by storm. Now, as we await the release of the upcoming iPhone 14, Apple dominates the market, with more than 1 billion active iPhones in the wild.

Rumors are swirling that the next-generation device -- which is due to be unveiled next week -- could sport some major upgrades and four new models. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives estimates that roughly 24% of iPhone owners worldwide haven't upgraded their device over the past 3.5 years. Even in the midst of the prevailing macroeconomic headwinds, this could mark the beginning of the next big product cycle for the iPhone.

3. Apple is the new black

While the iPhone gets all the press, Apple's wearables, home products, and accessories segment -- which includes such products as Apple Watch, AirPods, AirTags, and Beats headphones -- continue to steadily attract converts. Earlier this year, noted tech analyst Horace Dediu announced that "Apple Wearables is now [the size of] a Fortune 100 business." In fact, the segment has generated more revenue so far in fiscal 2022 than either the Mac or the iPad.

Supply constraints and foreign exchange headwinds have weighed on the segment, which grew just 6% year over year through the first three quarters of fiscal 2022. That said, the resulting pent-up demand will eventually give way to a surge in sales. Furthermore, the company is expected to release the latest versions of its Apple Watch next week. These could include a Pro model, which could serve to supercharge sales of the popular device.

4. Services: Apple's second-biggest breadwinner

Long before anyone else, CEO Tim Cook saw the potential for Apple's services segment, announcing plans in early 2017 to double its revenue over the coming four years. Fast forward to mid-2022, and services has come into its own.

The segment, which includes Apple Music, the App Store, Apple Pay, and Apple TV+ (among others), just set a June quarter record, generating 19% of Apple's total revenue. Services also saw revenue records in each major category, including all-time records for Music, Cloud Services, Apple Care, and Payment Services.

Apple TV+ began as something of an industry joke, with just eight programs and a documentary. But nobody's laughing now. Apple has netted more than 250 awards and over 1,100 nominations for its programming, including 52 Emmy Award nominations in 2022.

5. Dividends: The gift that keeps on giving

Apple began paying a dividend again in 2012 and has amassed quite an impressive track record. The quarterly payout began at a split-adjusted $0.095 and has soared 143% in just ten years.

This includes Apple's announcement earlier this year, which boosted the quarterly payout to $0.23 per share, an increase of 5% for 2022. That likely won't be the last increase as Apple is using less than 15% of its profits to fund the payout, giving the company plenty of opportunity for future increases.

6. Fewer shares = a bigger slice of the Apple pie

Another highlight of Apple's shareholder-friendly policies is the company's strong share-repurchase plan. Apple began buying back shares in earnest in early 2013 and has never taken its foot off the gas. As a result, with each passing quarter, Apple shareholders own a larger share of the company. In fact, over the past 10 years, Apple's share count has declined by nearly 39%.

Data by YCharts.

As an example, the company retired roughly 1% of its shares in its fiscal third quarter and has no plans of slowing down. Earlier this year, Apple announced that it added another $90 billion to its existing share-repurchase program.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
6 Reasons to Buy Apple Stock Now and Never Sell
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n6 Reasons to Buy Apple Stock Now and Never Sell\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-09-05 23:10 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Even as the bear market lingers, investors might be surprised to learn that Apple still holds the title of most valuable publicly traded company, with its market cap recently clocking in at $2.55 ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"AAPL":"苹果"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2022/09/05/6-reasons-to-buy-apple-stock-now-and-never-sell/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2265703480","content_text":"Even as the bear market lingers, investors might be surprised to learn that Apple still holds the title of most valuable publicly traded company, with its market cap recently clocking in at $2.55 trillion. Apple began buying back shares in earnest in early 2013 and has never taken its foot off the gas. As a result, with each passing quarter, Apple shareholders own a larger share of the company. In fact, over the past 10 years, Apple's share count has declined by nearly 39%.Data by YCharts. As an example, the company retired roughly 1% of its shares in its fiscal third quarter and has no plans of slowing down. Alibaba easily sailed past revenue and earnings predictions and I believe sentiment regarding Chinese companies has deteriorated too much at this point. Although Alibaba skipped its guidance for FY 2023, the firm's valuation still makes very little sense. Investors are underpricing Alibaba’s earnings potential!

Previous expectations

In my previous work on Alibaba, I mentioned the very real possibility of Alibaba outperforming EPS predictions on Thursday which have gone through a significant downward revision cycle over the last year. Low expectations were the main reason why I thought Alibaba could outperform low consensus EPS predictions. And this is what Alibaba did: The company reported Q4’22 adjusted EPS of $1.18 which beat predictions by $0.10. Additionally, Alibaba beat on revenues as well.

Seeking Alpha

Alibaba’s e-Commerce growth

Overall, Alibaba’s revenues increased 9% in the last quarter to 204.1B Chinese Yuan which calculates to $32.2B. Alibaba’s core China e-Commerce revenues increased 8% year over year to 140.3B Chinese Yuan ($22.1B), which was an improvement over the previous quarter which saw 7% top line growth. So, Alibaba slightly improved its performance in its most important business quarter over quarter. Alibaba also saw continual strength in Local Consumer Services where revenues surged 29% year over year to $10.4B Chinese Yuan ($1.6B) and the Cloud segment which saw its revenues increase by 12% year over year to 19.0B Chinese Yuan ($3.0B).

Alibaba

What stood out positively from Alibaba’s earnings sheet was that the company continued to make progress expanding its e-Commerce platform despite a challenged macro environment. Alibaba added 28M new accounts to its ecosystem in the last quarter, the majority of which (25M) were added in China. Alibaba’s domestic e-Commerce business is still the firm’s largest revenue source, contributing 69% of total revenues. However, Alibaba has a huge opportunity to grow its other businesses as well, especially its logistics operations which are vertically integrated into Alibaba’s e-Commerce operations, and its Cloud segment. I recently described the progress Alibaba is making in the Cloud business.

Alibaba

Alibaba ended the quarter with 1.3B active customer accounts in its enterprise. Over the last year, Alibaba added a massive 177M new customers to its platform which creates a base for long term earnings and free cash flow growth.

Alibaba’s share buybacks

Before Alibaba released earnings, I mentioned that the company likely used its free cash flow in the last quarter to repurchase a ton of shares. It was obvious to me that the e-Commerce company would repurchase a lot of shares considering that Alibaba just up-sized its stock buyback from $15B to $25B at the time and that the stock traded at unreasonably low prices in March.

I like it when companies increase their buybacks when stock valuations are depressed and Alibaba did in fact repurchase a significant amount of shares in the last quarter. In Q4’22, Alibaba repurchased approximately 17.8M American Depositary Shares for about $2.0B. I expected a minimum share repurchase of $2.0B. In the last twelve months, Alibaba repurchased 60M American Depositary Shares for a total consideration of $9.6B.

Alibaba

Skipped earnings guidance

Alibaba did not provide earnings guidance which it normally does at the beginning of the fiscal year. The e-Commerce firm cited uncertainties related to COVID-19 as a reason not to provide guidance. Normally, a lack of guidance is not well received and stocks of companies that don’t guide are punished by the market. In this case, however, things are different. Alibaba’s shares have been so battered so much since the fourth-quarter of 2020 that investors cheer results even if they are more mediocre.

Alibaba’s valuation is wrong: Undervalued e-Commerce prospects

Alibaba’s stock market valuation makes very little sense to me. This is because, for one, Alibaba is very profitable. Alibaba generated net income of 47.1B Chinese Yuan ($7.4B) in FY 2022 while adjusted net income was 136.4B or $21.5B. There is some serious profitability in Alibaba’s business and investors don’t seem to appreciate this right now. Additionally, we are dealing with one of the largest e-Commerce empires in the world regarding account size and reach, but Alibaba's valuation still does not reflect those factors. Shares of Alibaba trade at a P-E ratio of 10 X. JD.com (JD), for example, has a P-E ratio nearly twice as high as Alibaba's. Alibaba's historical valuation shows a P-E ratio as high as 30 X. As wrong as Alibaba's valuation is, it represents deep value and low risk.

Data by YCharts

Risks with Alibaba

Alibaba faces continual top line risks related to a slowdown in the Chinese e-Commerce market. While Alibaba is investing in other businesses to diversify its revenue mix, a continual moderation in top line growth poses a risk for Alibaba and the stock. What would change my mind about Alibaba is if earnings and free cash flow prospects in the e-Commerce business seriously deteriorated or Beijing announced new crackdowns on the company.

Final thoughts

I expected Alibaba to do better than estimates in Q4’22, in large part because investor expectations have been driven too low. Given the circumstances with COVID-19 lockdowns and a regulatory onslaught in the last year, Alibaba did a good job in squeezing out 9% revenue growth.

Alibaba does have some problems, like slowing top line growth and reliance on domestic e-Commerce transactions, but the firm’s irrationally low valuation is not of them. Alibaba added a significant number (177M) of new accounts in the last twelve months which speaks to the strength and the appeal of Alibaba’s various e-Commerce platforms. Alibaba’s growth is still widely undervalued and I believe the valuation is just plain wrong!

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Alibaba: The Valuation Is Just Wrong
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAlibaba: The Valuation Is Just Wrong\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-05-30 14:27 GMT+8 Seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Alibaba's (NYSE:BABA) shares rallied 15% after the Chinese e-Commerce company submitted earnings results for the last quarter of FY 2022 on Thursday. The latest quarterly update comes against a backdrop of a contracting Chinese economy, supply chain woes and the recent zero-COVID lockdowns.Taking these factors into consideration, ahead of the print, Baird’s 5-star analyst Colin Sebastian thinks some revisions are in order on the outlook for F23.The analyst now anticipates F1Q23 (June) revenues will increase by 4% year-over-year to reach ¥214.7 billion, below the prior forecast of ¥228.4 billion. This factors in the China commerce and international commerce segments dialing in revenue of ¥144.8 billion and ¥15.9 billion, respectively, vs. the ¥157.4 billion and ¥16.7 billion expected before. Sebastian’s full year forecast now calls for revenue of ¥945.7 billion, below the previous estimate of ¥959.3 billion. The new revised estimates “primarily reflect the deceleration in e-commerce and retail sales reported by China's NBS for April.” “Additionally,” Sebastian explained, “we believe that additional headwinds from recent pandemic-related lock downs in certain cities could impact New Retail and advertising revenues.”There are also respective reductions to the F1Q and FY23 EBITA estimates; these now stand at ¥45 billion (representing a 20% margin) and ¥149.8 billion (15.8% margin vs. the prior 18.6%).Despite the “near-term headwinds,” the company's continued focus on innovation and product development is encouraging and there have been signs the operating climate for Internet companies in China may be “normalizing.”“If that proves accurate,” says the analyst, “we believe there could be material upside in shares over the long term. For now, however, we think management's tone could remain cautious with respect to near-term growth and margins.”Other things to look out for on the earnings call include the recent lockdowns’ effect on the supply chain, the state of the regulatory environment, the progress of Taobao Deals and Taocaicai, growth and margins of the Cloud segment and the company’s capex plans. All in all, Sebastian reiterated an Outperform (i.e. Buy) rating on BABA shares along with a $144 price target. Should his thesis play out, a potential upside of ~75% could be in the cards.Overall, the analysts are fully behind Alibaba right now; based on Buys only - 18, in total - the stock boasts a Strong Buy consensus rating. Shares are priced at $82.47, and their $168.79 average price target suggests room for ~105% growth on the one-year time horizon.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":482,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9064716765,"gmtCreate":1652368881658,"gmtModify":1676535087036,"author":{"id":"4107136975875500","authorId":"4107136975875500","name":"AneeshAneesh","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4107136975875500","authorIdStr":"4107136975875500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a I'm very bullish on the company's future. But Joby is a high-risk stock. So my investment here is tiny (way under 1% of my family investment portfolio).

I'm bullish on this stock because I'm negative about self-driving cars. I don't think the collective intelligence at Alphabet or Tesla can sufficiently plan for all the variables of driving a car in the street. Even if the artificial intelligence-based technology works and reduces car collisions, every accident is a major lawsuit waiting to happen. There's almost zero traffic in the sky. The vehicles are way faster and just as quiet. I think Joby could easily go up 10 times in value, just with human pilots. But the potential upside is so high, it's worth making small investments now before the crowd wakes up and bids up the stock price.

A couple of 100-baggers will make you rich

While a 100-bagger seems impossibly big, it actually happens fairly often. The 20-year-old college student who bought $500 worth of Microsoft back in 1986 is now a millionaire, just from that one stock buy. So that's why it's worth your time to search for companies chasing massive opportunities, and make small investments while the stock price is still tiny, and the future is uncertain.

How big is the market for air taxis?

A couple of years ago, Morgan Stanley put out a research report that estimates the market for air taxis to reach $1.5 trillion by 2040. It's not hard to see why transportation will go vertical in the future. Joby's aircraft is electric and recently demonstrated how quiet the aircraft, a critical parameter to operate in populated areas. At about 55 decibels during take-off, it's more than a thousand times quieter than a typical helicopter. And that's kind of amazing, because these vehicles are super-fast. How fast? The company's air taxi hit 205 miles an hour in a practice run earlier this year.

The company also demonstrated that the aircraft can fly 150 miles on a single battery charge. The plan is to use them to ferry passengers in and around congested cities. Los Angeles, for instance, is known for its heavy traffic. Electric cars do not fix that problem. Self-driving cars don't fix that problem, either. Nobody likes a traffic snarl, and anything that reduces those bottlenecks will be a blessing. Joby estimates the market for its air taxis in L.A. at $500 million a year. That's just one city!

Tesla in the sky?

How big is the air taxi opportunity? Well, if you don't believe Morgan Stanley's $1.5 trillion number, consider what Elon Musk has to say.

So, over time, we think full self-driving will become the most important source of profitability for Tesla. It's -- actually, if you run the numbers on robotaxis, it's kind of nutty -- it's nutty good from a financial standpoint.

That's thought-provoking. Musk is happy about his fleet of electric cars and his $53 billion in revenues. But he believes self-driving taxis is actually a much bigger opportunity in the future.

Try to imagine investing in Tesla back in 2010, when the company had its initial public offering (IPO). It was a daunting investment. Tesla had no profits and had only sold 1,000 cars in total when the company went public. If the company had suffered a few bad breaks a decade ago, it could have easily gone Chapter 11.

Joby in 2022 is much like Tesla in 2010 -- a highly risky investment opportunity with a huge potential upside. The way you approach a dangerous stock like this is by making a small investment now, and maybe adding to your position as the dangers recede and the market gets more and more excited.

Data by YCharts.

Uber in the sky?

Of course, when you think "taxis," you think Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER), the company that disrupted the taxi industry around the world. You might think Uber would be interested in that $1.5 trillion market opportunity, too. And you'd be right. Back in 2016, Uber published a white paper about the future of urban air transportation. Two years later, the ride-sharing giant introduced its prototype vehicle. But Uber was too late to the party, and so in 2020 the company abandoned the race and sold out to Joby (and invested $75 million in the start-up).

Similarly, Toyota decided to invest almost $400 million in Joby last year. That's a major influx of cash. After several financing rounds and its SPAC last year, Joby is now sitting on $1.6 billion dollars.

So here we have a huge market opportunity. Uber sees it, and Toyota sees it. And yet these two massive companies both decided to back Joby instead of going alone. Why?

Joby has a powerful first-mover advantage. The company has been working on its aircraft for over a decade and has been collaborating with NASA since 2012. Joby's near-term goals are to get its aircraft certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), scale up its manufacturing, and launch its air taxi service in 2024. It's in the lead and likely to be first to market in the U.S.

What about self-driving air taxis?

I think Musk's vision of robotaxis in the future is very exciting. But given the congestion in the cities and the pain-points that air taxis solve, I believe this revolution may very well happen in the air first. After all, the first autopilots in aircraft were introduced in 1912! We already have drones in the air. The safety issues with a self-driving aircraft are minuscule compared to the complexities on the ground.

So that's why I've made a tiny investment in Joby Aviation now, even with a significant possibility that I might lose it all. The long-term upside is so massive, I want to have a minor ownership now, in the hopes that Joby can pull off what the company is trying to do.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Aiming for a 100-Bagger? Two years later, the ride-sharing giant introduced its prototype vehicle. But Uber was too late to the party, and so in 2020 the company abandoned the race and sold out to Joby (and invested $75 million in the start-up).Similarly, Toyota decided to invest almost $400 million in Joby last year. Why?Joby has a powerful first-mover advantage. The company has been working on its aircraft for over a decade and has been collaborating with NASA since 2012. Joby's near-term goals are to get its aircraft certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), scale up its manufacturing, and launch its air taxi service in 2024. It's in the lead and likely to be first to market in the U.S.What about self-driving air taxis?I think Musk's vision of robotaxis in the future is very exciting. The long-term upside is so massive, I want to have a minor ownership now, in the hopes that Joby can pull off what the company is trying to do.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":143,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3479274804998780","authorId":"3479274804998780","name":"quixy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5db4d62c071dcb2907bb17a6acb6ce29","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3479274804998780","authorIdStr":"3479274804998780"},"content":"I want to know which company you are talking about.","text":"I want to know which company you are talking about.","html":"I want to know which company you are talking about."}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9092369874,"gmtCreate":1644538852818,"gmtModify":1676533938267,"author":{"id":"4107136975875500","authorId":"4107136975875500","name":"AneeshAneesh","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4107136975875500","authorIdStr":"4107136975875500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like please","listText":"Like please","text":"Like please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9092369874","repostId":"2210187875","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2210187875","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1644532585,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2210187875?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-11 06:36","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street Ends down Sharply on Fears of Aggressive Fed Rate Hikes","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2210187875","media":"Reuters","summary":"* CPI rose 7.5% in January, above estimates* Bullard \"dramatically\" more hawkish* Disney jumps on upbeat quarterly results* Indexes: Dow -1.47%, S&P 500 -1.81%, Nasdaq -2.10%Feb 10 (Reuters) - Wall St","content":"

* CPI rose 7.5% in January, above estimates

* Bullard "dramatically" more hawkish

* Disney jumps on upbeat quarterly results

* Indexes: Dow -1.47%, S&P 500 -1.81%, Nasdaq -2.10%

Feb 10 (Reuters) - Wall Street ended sharply lower on Thursday after U.S. consumer prices data came in hotter than expected and subsequent comments from a Federal Reserve official raised fears the U.S. central bank will hike rates aggressively to fight inflation.

U.S. Labor Department data showed consumer prices surged 7.5% last month on a year-over-year basis, topping economists' estimates of 7.3% and marking the biggest annual increase in inflation in 40 years.

U.S. stocks fell further after St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank President James Bullard said the data had made him "dramatically" more hawkish. Invest in These Stocks","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2217930354","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"These companies are passive income machines.","content":"

Investing in dividend-paying companies can be a great way to generate passive income. Historically, some of the best dividend stocks have been real estate investment trusts (REITs). They typically offer above-average dividend yields, with their payouts steadily growing over time.

The sector's higher yields allow investors to generate more dividend income with a lower up-front investment. For example, $20,000 invested across four high-quality, high-yielding REITs -- W.P. Carey (NYSE:WPC), EPR Properties (NYSE:EPR), Realty Income (NYSE:O), and Medical Properties Trust (NYSE:MPW) -- can deliver more than $1,000 of annual income.

Real estate-backed income streams

REITs are one of the easiest ways of generating truly passive income. These professionally managed entities typically own income-generating commercial buildings secured by leases with high-quality tenants. REITs must distribute at least 90% of their net income to investors via dividends to maintain their tax-advantaged status. Because of that, the average REIT offers a dividend yield of around 3% these days, more than double that of the typical stock in the S&P 500.

This particular quartet provides an even more attractive income stream, with dividend yields between 4.5% and 6.5%. Their higher yields mean that a $20,000 investment spread evenly across these four REITs would generate more than $1,100 in annual dividend income, as seen in the chart.

Company

Investment

Current Dividend Yield

Annual Income

W.P. Carey is a diversified REIT that focuses on owning operationally critical real estate. It owns more than 1,300 properties across the warehouse, industrial, office, retail, and self-storage sectors net leased to high-quality tenants. That lease structure makes the tenant responsible for maintenance, building insurance, and real estate taxes, enabling W.P. Carey to generate very stable rental income.

The company complements its portfolio with a high-quality financial profile. It has an investment-grade balance sheet and a reasonable dividend payout ratio. That gives it the financial flexibility to continue expanding its portfolio to grow its dividend. W.P. Carey has increased its payout every year since its initial public offering in 1998.

Meanwhile, EPR Properties is a specialty REIT focused on experiential real estate like movie theaters and attractions net leased to tenants that operate these experiences. While it faced some pandemic-related headwinds, the REIT has come out the other side even stronger.

It has an investment-grade credit rating and a reasonable dividend payout ratio of 75% of its funds from operations. The REIT also has a cash-rich balance sheet. Because of that, the company plans to return to growth mode this year after pausing most acquisitions during the early stages of the pandemic. It expects to invest between $500 million to $700 million acquiring additional experiential real estate, which would put its big-time dividend -- which it pays monthly -- on an even firmer foundation. Those deals could enable it to keep increasing its dividend. It recently boosted the payout by 15% after reinstating it last year.

Realty Income also pays a monthly dividend. The retail REIT has one of the best dividend track records in the REIT sector. It has increased its payout in each of the last 97 straight quarters.

This REIT has ample room to continue growing its payout. Realty Income has a top-notch balance sheet and a conservative dividend payout ratio. That gives it the financial flexibility to continue acquiring high-quality retail properties that are net leased to durable tenants resistant to the headwinds from e-commerce and recessions.

Finally, Medical Properties Trust is a healthcare REIT focused on hospitals net leased to healthcare systems. These properties have demonstrated their importance to society during the pandemic.

The company has a solid financial profile, giving it the flexibility to continue expanding its portfolio. Last year, it made $3.9 billion of new investments, which helped grow its funds from operations at a double-digit-per-share rate. That growth enabled Medical Properties Trust to increase its dividend for the ninth straight year. With plenty of owner-operated hospitals out there, the REIT has lots of growth still ahead.

The lazy landlord portfolio

W.P. Carey, EPR Properties, Realty Income, and Medical Properties all generate stable rental income backed by high-quality real estate net leased to quality tenants. Carey (NYSE:WPC), EPR Properties (NYSE:EPR), Realty Income (NYSE:O), and Medical Properties Trust (NYSE:MPW) -- can deliver more than $1,000 of annual income.Real estate-backed income streamsREITs are one of the easiest ways of generating truly passive income. These professionally managed entities typically own income-generating commercial buildings secured by leases with high-quality tenants. REITs must distribute at least 90% of their net income to investors via dividends to maintain their tax-advantaged status. Because of that, the average REIT offers a dividend yield of around 3% these days, more than double that of the typical stock in the S&P 500.This particular quartet provides an even more attractive income stream, with dividend yields between 4.5% and 6.5%. Their higher yields mean that a $20,000 investment spread evenly across these four REITs would generate more than $1,100 in annual dividend income, as seen in the chart.CompanyInvestmentCurrent Dividend YieldAnnual IncomeW.P. Income-generating machinesW.P. The lazy landlord portfolioW.P. Carey, EPR Properties, Realty Income, and Medical Properties all generate stable rental income backed by high-quality real estate net leased to quality tenants. They also boast strong financial profiles. That puts their big-time dividends on solid ground and gives them the flexibility to continue expanding. These features make them excellent investments for those who want to collect at least $1,000 in truly passive income each year.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":119,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097580619,"gmtCreate":1645497040657,"gmtModify":1676534033664,"author":{"id":"4107136975875500","authorId":"4107136975875500","name":"AneeshAneesh","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4107136975875500","authorIdStr":"4107136975875500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like please","listText":"Like please","text":"Like please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097580619","repostId":"1108282943","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1108282943","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1645003624,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1108282943?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-16 17:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"What You Need to Know Before Alibaba's Q3 Earnings","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1108282943","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Alibaba is set to release its third-quarter fiscal 2022 results on Feb. 24 before the market open. An","content":"

Alibaba is set to release its third-quarter fiscal 2022 results on Feb. 24 before the market open.

Analyst Opinion

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect Alibaba to report sales of $38.8 billion, delivering earnings before interest, taxes, and amortization—the preferred adjusted measure of profits—just shy of $7.1 billion, or earnings per share (EPS) of $2.52.

The estimated sales figure would mark 13% growth from the December quarter of 2020.

Earnings on an adjusted basis are actually expected to fall 25% from a year ago, when Covid-19 pandemic-era e-commerce was on a tear, but be more than 60% higher than in the September quarter.

Factors to Consider

Alibaba’s strong efforts to add value to consumers and sellers through product enrichment efforts and platform innovations are expected to have driven growth in its e-commerce business in the to-be-reported quarter by driving its customer momentum.

New monetization formats and strengthening online physical goods GMV on China retail marketplaces are expected to have aided customer management revenues of the company in the quarter under review.

The growing momentum across paying members on 1688.com is expected to have been a tailwind for the China commerce wholesale business in the fiscal third quarter.

The infusion of advanced technologies along with increasing validation for Taobao and Tmall portals is expected to have been beneficial in the quarter to be reported. The company currently offers five EV models and plans to begin delivery of its new premium smart electric sedan, the ET7, this month.

Based in China, the company held its initial public offering on the NYSE in 2018, raising around $1B.

EV stocks have been hammered

Shares of NIO have tumbled 53% since the beginning of January. This is part of a larger slide in broader EV space. Shares of industry player Rivian (RIVN) have plunged 64%, while Lucid (LCID) shares have tumbled 42%, Fisker (FSR) 33% and Tesla (TSLA) 24%.

Other Chinese EV makers suffered severe selling as well. Li (LI) shares have sunk 39% this year, while XPeng (XPEV) has dropped 58%. On March 1, NIO reported that February deliveries rose 10% year-over-year to 6,131 vehicles, but were down 36% month-over-month.

Is NIO a Buy?

Wall Street analysts, on average, rate NIO as a Buy. Of the 25 analysts tracked by Seeking Alpha, 12 rated the stock a Strong Buy, 9 a Buy, 4 a Hold and none a sell. SA authors, on average, also rate the stock a Buy.

On the flip side, SA’s Quant Ratings see the stock as a Sell. While NIO earned a B- for growth and a C+ for revisions, it also received a D for profitability, a D- for momentum, and an F for valuation.

However, the landscape might be changing for Chinese stocks. Investors received some good news earlier this week when Beijing said it was supportive of domestic companies listing abroad, thereby allaying fears that companies like NIO might be forced to delist down the road.

NIO analysts have taken a largely favorable view of the company’s decision to conduct a secondary listing on the Hong Kong exchange. NIO listed the shares through a process called “way of introduction,” whereby shares are offered by existing shareholders and involve no additional financing or the issuing of new shares. The shares began trading on March 10 and are fully fungible with ADSs listed on the NYSE.

“We expect the Hong Kong listing to provide NIO with an extra financing channel that could be considered in terms of hedging geopolitical risks,” wrote BofA Securities analysts in a note dated Feb. 28. “We maintain our neutral rating as NIO’s model launch pipeline seems to be well expected by the market.”

Bernstein analysts also viewed the listing as a positive development.

“We see NIO’s listing in HK as a relief to the delisting risk concerning ADRs on American Exchanges,” wrote the analysts, who have a Market Perform rating on the stock with a price target of $40. “The downside of a secondary listing is that the company is restricted from raising fresh capital or issuing new shares in the next six months.”

However, Bernstein analysts also expressed concern about NIO facing increased competition in the EV market.

“We are impressed by NIO’s user-centric offerings and battery swapping technology, but we have reservations regarding the potential sales volume it can generate with competition intensifying in the premium segment,” wrote the analysts. “We are also worried that NIO will not be able to maintain its differentiation on customer experience as it moves down the price ladder.”

","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Nio Shares Have Been Hammered This Year. Of the 25 analysts tracked by Seeking Alpha, 12 rated the stock a Strong Buy, 9 a Buy, 4 a Hold and none a sell. SA authors, on average, also rate the stock a Buy.On the flip side, SA’s Quant Ratings see the stock as a Sell. While NIO earned a B- for growth and a C+ for revisions, it also received a D for profitability, a D- for momentum, and an F for valuation. However, the landscape might be changing for Chinese stocks. Investors received some good news earlier this week when Beijing said it was supportive of domestic companies listing abroad, thereby allaying fears that companies like NIO might be forced to delist down the road.NIO analysts have taken a largely favorable view of the company’s decision to conduct a secondary listing on the Hong Kong exchange. NIO listed the shares through a process called “way of introduction,” whereby shares are offered by existing shareholders and involve no additional financing or the issuing of new shares. The shares began trading on March 10 and are fully fungible with ADSs listed on the NYSE.“We expect the Hong Kong listing to provide NIO with an extra financing channel that could be considered in terms of hedging geopolitical risks,” wrote BofA Securities analysts in a note dated Feb. 28. “We maintain our neutral rating as NIO’s model launch pipeline seems to be well expected by the market.”Bernstein analysts also viewed the listing as a positive development.“We see NIO’s listing in HK as a relief to the delisting risk concerning ADRs on American Exchanges,” wrote the analysts, who have a Market Perform rating on the stock with a price target of $40. “The downside of a secondary listing is that the company is restricted from raising fresh capital or issuing new shares in the next six months.”However, Bernstein analysts also expressed concern about NIO facing increased competition in the EV market.“We are impressed by NIO’s user-centric offerings and battery swapping technology, but we have reservations regarding the potential sales volume it can generate with competition intensifying in the premium segment,” wrote the analysts. “We are also worried that NIO will not be able to maintain its differentiation on customer experience as it moves down the price ladder.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":289,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9032454781,"gmtCreate":1647432214559,"gmtModify":1676534229105,"author":{"id":"4107136975875500","authorId":"4107136975875500","name":"AneeshAneesh","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4107136975875500","authorIdStr":"4107136975875500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like thanks","listText":"Please like thanks","text":"Please like thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9032454781","repostId":"1182284497","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1182284497","pubTimestamp":1647421479,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1182284497?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-16 17:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Jabil, Caleres, WSM, Kingsoft Cloud and Lennar: What to Watch in the Stock Market Today","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1182284497","media":"benzinga","summary":"Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:Wall Street expects Jabil Inc.
